Chapter 50 Fall
I don't own Kamen Rider Wizard or RWBY
Haru was inside a elevator as he headed towards Ozpin's office, he was leaning against a wall and looks around.
"Well let's see what's the big thing." He said.
The doors opened and he saw Qrow and Pyrrha there making him confused.
"Pyrrha, and Qrow?" He said.
"Hey kid." Qrow has his arms crossed.
Haru goes inside and he heard a whisper. "Help me."
This made him look around and Ozpin asked: "Is something wrong?"
"Uh no." He shakes it off.
"Professor, if you don't mind me asking, why have you called us here?" Pyrrha asked.
"Please, take a seat." He told them and they sit. "What is your favorite fairy tale?"
"What?" Haru said.
"Fairy tales, stories from your childhood. Surely you must remember some of them." Ozpin said.
"Well, there's The Tale of The Two Brothers, The Shallow Sea, The Girl in the Tower..." Pyrrha said.
"What about The Story of the Seasons?" Ozpin said.
"Well, of course! A callous old man, who refuses to leave his home, is visited by four traveling sisters. The first understands his reclusive nature and urges him to use his time in solitude to reflect and meditate. The second brings him fruits and flowers, tending to his crops and revitalizing his garden. The third warms the man's heart, convincing him to step outside and embrace the world around him. And the fourth and final sister begs him to look at all that he has, and be thankful. In return for their kindness, the man grants the maidens incredible powers, so that they may continue to help others all over the world. They graciously accept, and promise to share their gifts with the people of Remnant 'til the end of days. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall; the four maidens. My mother loves that story." Pyrrha told it.
Haru got curious about that story.
"Help me." He heard the voice again.
"Would you believe me if I told you that one's been around since I was a boy?" Opzin said.
Pyrrha laughs. "You're not that old, Professor."
"Well, would you believe me if I told you it was true?" Ozpin said.
That causes her to stop and they got serious.
"You serious?" Haru said.
"What if I were to tell you that there were four maidens existing in this world, that could wield such tremendous power, without Dust?" Ozpin said.
"Like..." She looks at Haru.
"Yes, magic." Ozpin smiles.
"No way." Haru said.
"Yeah. First time hearing it's pretty crazy." Ozpin said.
"I thought I was the only one." Haru said.
"Me too." Pyrrha said.
"Well it's a surprise for a magic user to find another one, Haru's is a more different approach to it." Ozpin said.
"Why are you telling us this?" Pyrrha asked.
Ozpin looks at Qrow who nodded. "We are telling you this, Pyrrha Nikos, because we believe that you are next in line to receive the Fall Maiden's powers."
They got stunned and Pyrrha said: "We?"
At that moment, the elevator doors open, and she sees Glynda Goodwitch and General James Ironwood step out.
"Sorry we're late." Ironwood said.
"Wait, what is this? Who are you?" Pyrrha said.
"My mind has been blown for some time." Haru said.
"You know who we are. We're still the same teachers and Headmasters you met when you arrived at Beacon." Glynda said.
"'Cept we've got a little part-time job." Qrow said.
"We are the protectors of this world." Ironwood said.
"And we need your help." Ozpin said.
The duo looked at each other and they had a bad feeling. Then the two were inside a elevator with them going down.
"Where are we going?" Pyrrha was nervous.
"The vault. Under the school." Ozpin said.
The elevator continues downward through the vertical tunnel of dark green lights until it opens its doors and their passengers step out, with Pyrrha being the last to see the hallway with Haru.
Haru looks around and he can feel something.
"Help me!" He heard the voice again making him hold his head.
"Is there something wrong?" Glynda asked Haru out of concern.
"Nothing." He said.
"Okay. I'm sure you must have questions."
They walked forward and Pyrrha said: "Maybe one, or two... I still don't understand. You said I was next in line to receive the Maiden's power. What do you mean by that?"
"And why am I here?" Haru said.
"The Maidens have existed for thousands of years. But much like in nature, the seasons change. No two summers are alike. When a Maiden dies, her power leaves her body and seeks out a new host, ensuring that the seasons are never lost, and that no individual can hold on to that power forever." Glynda explained.
"So, how does the power choose?" Pyrrha said.
"Through a series of stupid and convoluted rules." Qrow said.
"Qrow." Glynda looks at him.
"Hey, don't get mad 'cause I'm right." He said. "And to answer the kid, let's say your the back up."
"Back up?" Haru said.
"At first, the only thing that was certain was that the powers were specifically passed on to young women. But as time went on, it was discovered that the selection process was much more... intimate." Glynda said.
"Intimate?" Pyrrha was concerned.
"As we understand it now, when a Maiden dies, the one who is in her final thoughts is the first candidate to inherit her power." Glynda said.
"Unless it's a dude or some old hag. Then the power goes to someone random, and our job gets a lot harder." Qrow said.
"Why tell us all of this now? Why not wait until we've graduated?" Pyrrha said.
"Honestly, we've run out of time. I don't know if you've noticed, but things are getting a lot scarier out in the world. Tensions are high. Grimm are growing stronger, more prevalent. And it's not going to be much longer before the peace we've been enjoying so much goes out the window." Qrow said.
"You're not... talking about a war?" Pyrrha said.
"Not a war between nations." Ironwood said.
"We can fill you in on the details once we know that you're with us. For now, all you need to know is that one of the Maidens has been attacked. And for the first time in history, part of her power was stolen." Qrow said.
A humming of electricity is heard as the group comes to their destination at the end of the hallway. It was a large machine with lit screens hooked up to two rectangular pods, one of which is upright to show through the glass window a young girl dressed in minimal clothing with a burn scar over her left eye and across her face.
"Is that..." Pyrrha looks at her.
Ozpin sighs. "The current Fall Maiden, Amber."
Haru looks at her and he remembers the times he was in his dreams of someone calling out to him.
When he sleeps he saw someone, a figure of a woman in light, looking at him as she calls out to him.
"She's... still alive." Pyrrha said.
"For now. We're using state of the art Atlas technology to keep her stable. But there is a lot about this situation that is... unprecedented." Ironwood said.
"What do you mean?" Haru said.
"Well, we don't know what will happen if- when she passes." Ironwood said.
"Won't... her power... just transfer to the next host?" Pyrrha said.
"Look who's been listening!" Qrow whispers to Ozpin. "She is smart."
"Under normal circumstances, yes. But this is a delicate situation. It's not uncommon for the last thoughts of the slain to be of their attacker. And to make matters worse, no one's ever seen the power split like this before. For all we know, it will seek out its other half." Ironwood looks at Amber.
Haru thinks. "The one that attacked her."
"And that would not bode well for any of us." Ozpin said.
Pyrrha looks at Amber. "If all of this is true, why keep it secret!? If this girl is so important... if we're truly on the brink of war, why not tell everyone?"
"From what we understand, it used to be common knowledge." Glynda said.
"What?" Haru said.
"How do you think legends and fairy tales get started? Even the craziest ones come from somewhere." Qrow said.
"Our group was founded in order to protect both mankind and the Maidens. Those hungry for power hunted them with the hope of inheriting their strength." Glynda said.
"We are also worried they might go after Haru." Ozpin said.
"Me?" Haru said.
"What do you expect, your waving that magic like it's a toy." Qrow said.
"I don't use aura, what do you expect? If I remember correctly Yang asked you to get me into Beacon." Haru said.
"Well yeah." Qrow said. "And as you can imagine, the ones that succeeded weren't exactly the kind of people you'd want to have unimaginable power."
"And so this brotherhood chose to remove the Maidens from the public eye, allowing their existence to fade away into legend." Ironwood said.
"The things we're telling you go against hundreds of years of human history, religion." Glynda said.
"No one would want to believe us. It would cause an uproar." Ironwood said.
"It would cause panic. And we all know what that would bring to clawing to our Kingdom's walls." Ozpin said.
Pyrrha goes to answer but Haru cuts her off. "How does she get the power? It's not easy right?"
"Well yes. I'm afraid it's not that simple. Given Amber's condition, you won't be able to inherit her power naturally. However, General Ironwood believes he has a solution." Ozpin said.
"For the past few years, Atlas has been studying Aura from a more scientific standpoint; how it works, what's it made of, how it can be used. We've made... significant strides. And we believe we've found a way to capture it." Ironwood said.
Haru gasped. "That means, you'll be merging them together."
"Yes, desperate times." Ozpin said.
Haru then confronts Ozpin surprising them all and Pyrrha looks.
"Are we the bad guys now?! Do we sacrifice others to do what is right?!" Haru demanded at Ozpin.
"Kid! We don't have a choice? It's either that or you can heal her." Qrow said.
"Why isn't that the first option, I could try!" He said.
"Help me!" He heard it again making him cry out in pain.
"Haru!" Pyrrha said.
"That voice." Haru said.
"Voice?" Ironwood said.
The groups eyes widen and looked at Amber.
"She's... talking to him?" Ironwood said.
"How is that possible?!" Qrow said.
Ozpin looks at Haru. "What did she say?"
"She's saying help me. I've been having dreams about a girl and it's gotta be her." Haru said.
Ozpin thinks. "She must know young Kaneki can help her. We'll give you a chance, can you help her?"
"I have a few healing rings, and a special one." He thinks about one of his strongest rings. "It's made out of a really powerful stone, I could try it."
"Then be prepared for that." Ozpin said. "Now it's time for you to return."
They nodded as the two went away, Ironwood looks at Ozpin. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, if Amber is talking to Haru, then he might be the option she wants." Ozpin said.
Later
At the arena Cinder smiles sitting on the seats watching what will happen next.
"Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for! The one-on-one finals!" Port said.
The chosen fighters came out, Sun Wukong, Penny Polendina, Mercury Black, Pyrrha and to Cinder's shock it was Haru for Team RWBY.
"Why?" She mutters in shock.
"Barty, why don't you explain the rules?" Port said.
"Ah, it's quite simple, Peter. Instead of a bracket system, each round of the finals will be randomly determined immediately before the match takes place!" Oobleck said.
"Much like any good hunt, there will be zero time to prepare!" Port said.
"Ah, yes, yes! Now, let's see who our first match will be!" Oobleck points above to see a roulette.
Then it stops with Port saying: "Haru Kaneki and Mercury Black!"
Haru smiles and he saw his friends cheering.
"Break a leg Haru!" Ruby said.
"Would all other combatants please leave the stage!" Port said.
The others leave as the two faced against each other.
"Well it's showtime." Haru said.
"It's going to be the end of that show." Mercury said.
Emerald watches and looks at Haru, she frowns since she didn't want him there to fight Mercury. She's worried.
"Three! Two! One! Fight!"
Haru takes out his sword as Mercury kicks at him, Haru blocks and he felt something metalic.
'Hmmm.'
He dodges Mercury as he kept kicking at him with Haru moving around, they clashed many times. Haru then does a flip hitting Mercury back with a kick.
"Okay, you want flips, i'll give you one." Mercury frowns.
Mercury kicks at him as they two clashed again, Haru knees him making Mercury grunt, then he hits Haru back with the wizard dodging more of his attacks going around him.
'What's his strategy?' Haru wonders.
He shoots many blasts at Haru who dodges them and he sees more going around, then they came down making a explosion. Mercury smirks but then saw a barrier protecting Haru from them.
"Sure, the barrier saved your butt." Mercury said.
"But can you tank this." Haru uses a ring.
BIG, PLEASE!
A magic circle appear, he punches forward making a huge fist come out.
"Wait! I didn't prepare for that!" Mercury said but he got punched in the face.
"Ooooh! That will leave a mark." Oobleck said. "But a great victory for Haru Kaneki!"
Haru bows to the crowd. "Next time."
"There won't be a next time." Mercury goes a flying kick.
Haru notices it and leans down surprising him as he falls to the other side.
"Clumsy fool." Haru said to make an act.
"It seems Mercury slipped." Port said.
Mercury's jaw dropped seeing that, he tried to do the same tricked he prepare for that Yang girl, but it failed against him and he's beeing seen as a clumsy fool.
Cinder bites her thumb. 'We gotta try the next step.'
Haru smirks and goes off. 'Nice try.'
Note: Haru has been told the truth about Ozpin's group, and Amber has been calling out to him in his mind, the more he got close to her, Mercury's plan failed big time as Haru just dodged. Blaze-Rider-10: No, the events of the anime will never happen, this is not the same Yugioh as in the show, I had to change a lot of stuff to fit.
