After catching Chamleaf, our heroes are continuing on with their journey and getting closer to Ceruso City for Davis' first gym battle.

"Lunch should be ready soon." Cletus said. "Although, I do wish I had some fruit. The meal is good, but it would be better if I had some."

"I'm sure it will be fine." Terra said.

"Chamleaf!"

"What is it, Chamleaf?" Davis questioned. Chamleaf tried getting their attention and showed them a tree with some fruit growing out of it. "Hey! Chamleaf found some fruit!"

"Perfect! Thank you, Chamleaf." Cletus said. Chamleaf helped out even more as it used its tongue and great accuracy to knock some of them down.

"Chamleaf is quite the helper." Imperialdramon said as they were glad that Chamleaf has proven to be quite the helpful Pokemon. Chamleaf was feeling praised until they heard some sort of explosion coming from the woods.

"What was that?" Terra questioned.

"Let's go find out." Davis said as they hurried off to investigate.

(Davis' voice): Getting the Poison Point

Davis and the others hurried to where they heard the commotion. When they got there, they were surprised to see who it was.

"It's Jason!" Davis said as he was surprised to see him again. Jason just have them the cold shoulder as it looked like he and Sculice were in the middle of catching a Nincada. Jason just threw his pokeball and it made contact with Nincada getting caught.

"That noise we heard must have been Jason catching a Pokemon, but it sounds like he overdid it." Terra said. With his newly caught Nincada, Jason used his pokedex to run some sorry of scan.

"What a waste." Jason said and then released Nincada. "Get lost." Nincada did just that with Jason brining Sculice back to its own pokeball.

"What was that about?" Davis questioned.

"Why did you release it after you just caught it?" Cletus questioned.

"That Nincada knew some weak and pathetic attacks." Jason claimed. "I'm not gonna waste my time with weaklings."

"That's rather harsh. It might have been weak now, but it could have gotten stronger if you raised it right." Davis said.

"I don't have time to babying a pokemon. I need strong Pokémon." Jason said. "Since I'm also going to take on the Ceruso Gym, I need pokemon that can cut it."

"What a coincidence. That's where am I heading for my own gym battle." Davis claimed.

"Am I seeing things, or is that actually a Chamleaf with you?" Jason questioned as he just now noticed it.

"Sure is." Davis said. "I just recently caught it and it can be pretty tough."

"Chamleaf!"

"You moron." Jason insulted. "Are you planning to challenge that gym with that pokemon? It's not going to be much help since the Ceruso Gym specializes in bug-type pokemon."

"That gym is for bug pokemon?" Davis questioned.

"You're planning to challenge the gym and you don't know that?" Jason said. "You really are a moron." This guy is really getting on Davis' nerves and he won't take it.

"You think you're so tough? How about we battle and I'll show you how tough Chamleaf and I are!" Davis challenged with Chamleaf ready for one.

"Fine." Jason said as he grabbed a pokeball. "I'll admit I was dissatisfied after our last battle, but this will end differently!" He claimed as he released his pokemon.

"Venipede!"

"Who's that pokemon?" Terra questioned.

"That's a Venipede." Cletus said with Terra pulling out her pokedex.

"Venipede, the Centipede Pokemon. A bug and poison-type. It uses the feelers on its head and tail to detect vibrations i the air to find prey."

"But, Davis, Chamleaf is at a disadvantage against a pokemon like that!" Terra said.

"I don't care. I'll show this jerk." Davis said as he was ready to battle.

"I'll be the referee." Cletus offered.

"Don't bother. There'll be no doubt who wins." Jason claimed.

"We'll see about that! Now, start this with Razor Leaf!" Davis said as he started the battle.

"Chamleaf!" Chamleaf started this battle by firing leaves right at it. Jason and Venipede just let the attack come at them. They just bounced against Venipede.

"They didn't even try to block the attack." Terra said.

"It's not very effective, but it was still damage." Cletus said.

"The damage will just add up! Now use Lick!" Davis ordered with Chamleaf shooting its tongue out.

"Protect!" Jason ordered with Venipede forming a barrier and stopping the attack. "Now use Screech!" Jason said. Venipede unleashed a powerful screech that was killer on the ears. Chamleaf and Davis couldn't take it. "Now use Poison Tail!" Venipede shit itself right at Chamleaf and smashed a poison energized tail against Chamleaf.

"That looked like a serious hit!" Terra said.

"Screech can lower defensive power. Striking with a super effective attack after that can deal some serious damage." Cletus said.

"Can you keep going?" Davis questioned. Chamleaf wasn't giving up as it got back up.

"Poison Tail one more time and finish this!" Jason ordered.

"Venipede!" Venipede shot in the air and tried to land another powerful attack.

"I don't think so! Power Whip!" Davis called. Chamleaf shit its tongue out and was able to smack Venipede right out of the air. "Now use Razor Leaf!" Chamleaf attacked some more with the leaves smashing against Venipede.

"Can't you see those attacks aren't going to work?" Jason taunted. "Venipede is bug-type and a poison-type. Grass-type attacks like that just aren't going to work. Just give up because you can't win."

"No way! Not to you!" Davis said. "It might not be that effective, but damage is still being dealt!"

"Why do morons always have to learn the hard way?" Jason mocked. "Venipede, Screech!" Venipede unleashed that painful sound again and it was getting to Chamleaf. "Keep it going and use Poison Tail!" Venipede was aiming to end this battle here.

"Power Whip!" Davis called. Chamleaf was able to fight through the dreadful sound and knocked Venipede out of the air. "You like that? Chamleaf's eyes allow it to aim with great accuracy, even with that distraction."

"So what? Now use Venoshock!" Jason ordered with Venipede shooting more toxins at them.

"Lash your tongue around and block it!" Davis called. Chamleaf did just that. Chamleaf stretched out its tongue and knocked away all the poison.

"Wow! I never knew you could defend like that!" Terra said.

"That goes to show you that the right moves can help you at a disadvantage." Cletus claimed.

"Silly tricks like that won't help you win." Jason said.

"He might be a jerk, but he's right. One more attack of poison and Chamleaf could lose this." Imperialdramon claimed.

"Doesn't Chamleaf know any other attacks that can help?" Terra said.

"The only attack left is Camouflage, but that can't help here." Cletus said. "Camouflage can change one's type to match the surrounding area, but it can't help here because Chamleaf is already a grass-type."

"There has to be a way." Davis said as he tried to think fast. He looked around and saw a cliff side that could help. That gave him an idea. "Chamleaf, get on those rocks!" Chamleaf didn't get it, but trusted Davis as it shit its tongue and pulled itself towards the rock wall. "Now use Camouflage!" Chamleaf used the attack and had an orange aura around it.

"I don't know what you're doing, but this ends!" Jason claimed. "Poison Tail!" Venipede tried attacking Chamleaf again, but Chamleaf endured the attack and jumped right off. "What? That should have finished it!"

"I get it now!" Cletus said. "Davis had Chamleaf get on those rocks so that Chamleaf would be turned into a rock-type, and rock-types don't take much damage from poison-types."

"That's amazing!" Terra said as it was brilliant.

"You're doing great, Chamleaf!" Davis claimed. "Now use Lick!" Chamleaf shot its tongue and gave Venipede a good lick. "Keep that up and this battle is ours!"

"I'm afraid your too late for that." Jason said. Just then, Chamleaf looked like it had trouble standing and looked sick.

"Now what?!" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Oh no! It must be Poison Point!" Cletus said.

"Poison Point?" Davis questioned.

"You're battling g a Venipede and don't know about that? You really are pathetic." Jason mocked.

"Poison Point is Venipede's ability." Cletus explained. "When you made direct contact with Venipede, Chamleaf was poisoned." Cletus claimed. That's bad since now Chamleaf is going to lose even more power.

"Are we done yet?" Jason questioned.

"It's over when I say it's over!" Davis said as he believed in Chamleaf. "Fight on,Chamleaf! Power Whip!" Chamleaf tried to attack once more.

"Venoshock!" Jason ordered. Venipede shot out the toxins and blasted Chamleaf with it. Being already poisoned, Chamleaf took extra damage. Chamleaf couldn't take it anymore and ended up collapsed and knocked out. "It's over when I say it's over!" Davis couldn't believe that he lost to Jason of all people. He lifted Chamleaf i his arms and hated this.

"Oh man... Losing to this guy has to sting." Imperialdramon claimed.

"Cheer up, Davis." Cletus said.

"It was a good battle." Terra said.

"But a lost is still a lost." Jason said. "Now, get out of here, Venipede! I don't need you anymore." Venipede was shocked he say that, but did what it was told.

"Why'd you do that when you win?!" Davis questioned.

"If that Venipede had this much trouble when it had the advantage, it's weaker than I thought." Jason said. "I'm not going to waste my time with a weakling."

"What's with you?! Can't you be nice?!" Davis called out.

"Maybe being nice is why you're such a loser." Jason mocked with him getting on everyone's nerve. After that, he just walked away.

"What a jerk." Imperialdramon complained.

"What is his problem?" Terra said.

"Just don't let him get to you." Cletus claimed.

"Maybe, but I can't stand him. I refuse to lose to someone like him again." Davis vowed.

And so, after losing a challenging battle, Davis sees how different he and Jason are. With a difference of ideals, Davis swears that he will beat Jason one day. Stay tuned for more to come.
