Chapter 13
Hours have passed and Eda and Lilith have been enjoying their visit. Aspen and Sienna have been held by Stan, Ford, Dipper, and Mabel. Soon Eda noticed that the sun is setting.
"We should get going before it gets dark." Suggested Eda
Lilith nodded and went to take Aspen from Stanford. He too noticed that the sun is setting.
"I've been thinking. How about you ladies and the twins spend the night?" asked Stanford
"Well we could do that if you have the room." Replied Lilith
"Of course we have room. You ladies can have the fold out couch. And the twins can sleep in the play pin that I got for them. Assured Stanford
Lilith over at Eda and asked "What do you think Edalyn?" Eda shrugged and replied "I don't see why not." Just then both girls started getting fussy. Lilith took Sienna from Stan. And Eda went to get up to get Aspen. When Stanford said "I'll go help Lilith with the twins. You sit back and enjoy the fire." Eda got comfortable in her chair and said "Don't mind I do." Lilith and Stanford went inside to change the twins. While they changed the twins Lilith said "You don't have to help me you know. You don't have to feel obligated to be a part of their lives." Stanford sighed and said "I'm not helping because I feel obligated. I'm helping because I want to. And because I want to be a better father than mine was."
Lilith looked over at Stanford and raised an eyebrow.
"Our Father was a hard man. He was as hard as a cinderblock and not easily impressed. Unless I won an award or got a high grade. Or if Stanley won a boxing match. He abused us to the pint of broken bones. We didn't feel loved by him. I want to be a part of my daughter's lives. And I want them to feel loved by their father." Informed Stanford
"Oh my Stanford I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure you were doing this for the right reasons." Stated Lilith
"I don't blame you my dear. You are looking out for your daughter's best interest." Assured Stanford
After changing the twins Stanford and Lilith went back outside. Lilith sat next to Eda. Eda looked over at her sister and asked "Did you talk to him?" Lilith nodded and replied "Yes I did he is in for the right reasons. He wants to be a better father than his was. From what he had to say their father wasn't a very nice man." Eda nodded and didn't say anything more. A few hours later Eda and Lilith put the twins down for the night. Everyone enjoyed themselves for a while longer outside. Then they all went inside and went to bed.
Eda and Lilith slept on the fold out couch. Aspen and Sienna are in the play pin. Stan went to his room and Stanford went to his room. And Dipper and Mabel are in the extra room. In the morning after breakfast Eda and Lilith. Got the twins and headed home. It is now late July and Eda, Lilith, and Raine. Are on their way to Stan and Ford's cabin. Eda and Lilith have visited three times by now. Raine has come along with them this time. Eda has also put her photo album and an old head wrap in her hair. Soon they arrived at the cabin. They are greeted by Stan, Ford, Dipper, and Mabel.
"Oh who is your friend?" asked Mabel
"This is my very good friend and lover Raine Whispers." Replied Eda
Mabel smiled and said "Nice to meet you." It's a nice day so they are hanging out outside. Eda, Lilith, and Raine have been visiting for a couple of hours. When Eda reached into her hair. She pulled out her photo album and head wrap.
"Stan I'm going to help you jog your memory." Stated Eda
She opened her photo album and found a picture. The woman took out the picture and showed it to Stanley. Stanford, Dipper, and Mabel can also the picture. Dipper said "Hey that's a young Grunkle Stan." Eda nodded and said "The woman that's with him is a young me. I used the name Marylin." Stanley looked at the picture then looked at Eda. He looks confused so Eda said "I'm your ex-wife Stan."
"You're Stanley's ex-wife Edalyn?" asked Stanford
"Yes I am." Replied Eda
"Why did you leave him? Did you love him?" asked Stanford
"Yes I did love him very much. He made it easy for me to forget. That I was a cursed witch from the Boiling Isles. And I left because I was running low on elixir. I didn't want to run the risk of running out. That and I wasn't sure. How he would react to the truth." Replied Eda
"That and you had the portal door at the time. And that's how Luz came to the Isles." Lilith pointed out
"I see." Stated Stanford
Just then Stan said "Marylin Hawthorne." Eda looked at Stan and said "Yes that's the name that I used. And you used the name Steve Pinesfield." Stan smiled and said "Boy we had a great time together." Eda nodded and said "We sure did. I just hope that you're not mad at me for leaving." Stanley shook his head and stated "It sounds like that you had your reasons for leaving. It's just good to know that the love was real." Eda smiled and said "Yes the love was real." Ford, Dipper, and Mabel are in shock to find out that Eda was Stan's ex-wife. But they understand why she left.
They changed the subject and continued talking and laughing. When the sun started setting Eda, Lilith, and Raine left to go home. After they left the Pines family went into the cabin for the night.
