Makoto was used to being looked at like she was a danger to them. She knew that she was different from other girls her age and it wasn't just because of that. Sure she towered over others her own age; she was stronger than them, and of course, she was faster than them. So maybe she got into a few fights but the rumors were far too exaggerated thanks to her senpai. She didn't have super strength, she just knew how to use her height to her advantage. While most saw her as the crazy, strong, tall girl, she was anything but, why couldn't people see that?

Very few were as tall or taller as her, which stopped her from getting too close to anyone around her. With some of her memories back because of Venus, she knew how special it made him, he made her feel dainty, something that no one from her home planet would ever admit to feeling.

However, that wasn't fully it. She always felt like something was missing from her life, that she knew in her heart. She just wasn't sure what it was until she found herself in a new school with a sweet airhead that didn't fear her like the others. However, she didn't find out why that loveable blond was so important until after that blasted bride attacked her.

Saving the blonde from getting hit in the head was a split-second decision that she would never regret, in fact, it was the best decision of her life. In hindsight of course it would be raining the day that she met her destiny in the form of her Princess, even if neither knew it. Also in hindsight, it would be a mannequin in a wedding dress that would be her reason for awakening, especially one that was controlled by her, is ex the right word? They were engaged to be married in a previous life, but in this one they were enemies.

She saw shadows of a past that weren't of hers but were her at the same time. She saw this version of herself on a planet much like the jungles of Earth but so much different. She saw herself in gowns she could never hope to own let alone wear. She saw herself leading armies. However, the most important vision she had was of herself and a male that would wrap her in comfort. Whoever this man was, he had the strength to take on the storm head-on and tame it. She needed him like she needed food, water, and air.

Her life was so confusing and crazy, the Joven had to smack her head to get it out of the past and into the present. She needed to save her Princess, the Prince, and keep her friends from dying. The need to protect was too strong, stronger than her lightning. it was because of that, that she found herself running with her sisters straight into the Dark Kingdom.

The tunnel was dark and the sound of their heels echoed around them, whatever element of surprise they had was long gone. Mako didn't know what she would do when she saw Nephrite again. Maybe she would cry, perhaps she would punch him in the face, maybe she would kiss him, she had no clue and it scared her. It scared her more than when she found out that he parents were dead and she would be alone.

She pushed herself, most likely to the point that her sisters would not be able to keep up with her, she just had to find him. She had to find and see if she could do something to help free him, whether it was his mind from the evil witch or his soul from this plane of existence, but it was something that she had to do.

The tunnel opened up into a spacious cave and on the other side, "Sailor Senshi" Kunzite said from where he stood with the other Shitennou looking down on them.

Makoto did care that she should be watching the others for any sign of foul play but Nephrite was right there, right in front of her, he was just missing his sword and cape and he would be hers. He just needed to wake up!

There was a glint of green, a shock wave of power, and the next thing she knew she was shoved into the cave wall with rocks digging into her back, arms, and legs. She didn't know how much longer she could handle this, but she didn't know if she could make the call on what to do. Luckily, or unluckily she wasn't sure, her leader finally stepped up and made the uneasy call. Standing with her sisters, she called forth the power of Jupiter and put all of her emotions into the attack, hopeful that they would be freed. By the lightening of Jupiter did she hope that this would work?

To invoke the element of lightning, I must have been important to you. Nephrite's voice rang through her head as she blocked the bright light of the Planet Attack.

"You weren't just important to me, but to you Prince, and to your people. You were the Knight of Intelligence and Comfort before the witch twisted your mind to be under her control!" Sailor Jupiter knew it was a long shot but she had to try, he sounded so confused and curious.

Knight? What are you talking about? How would you know this?

"Once upon a time, you told me before we danced under the strongest storm I have ever seen on this planet." The Joven put her hands over her face to keep her sisters from seeing her giggling in this dark place. It wasn't her fault that he trusted someone he never met enough to dance while a great storm was raging.

My lovely Amazon. His chuckle sounded watery even in her mind.

Makoto watched as the kings slowly started to get to their hands and knees. She could hear the sorrow from Kunzite as he called to Venus and her joy as she called back. The relief that she felt in knowing that Nephrite was back and ready to take his place next to his Prince and herself was so strong that if she wasn't as hurt as she was she would be jumping up and running to his arms.

The joy was ripped from her in seconds as she heard a laugh from Metalia and a flash of light descended upon the men before her. Her soul cried in pain as it shattered like the rocks in the cave. She had no time with him, why was fate so cruel and unkind to her? Was she truly meant to spend her life without love? Slowly she walked up to the new crater, she dared not look into it for she knew she wasn't ready for the pain that would rip her soul in half.

She needs you, you must stand up and fight for her The voice brought peace and pain to her already unstable mind. Worry not, I will always be with you in one way or another.

She knew he was right but that didn't mean that she wanted to listen. She just wanted to curl up into a ball and lay there for a while. "I can't Nephrite, I'm not strong enough."

What nonsense is that? Of course, you are strong enough. You who look into the face of any fierce storm, any enemy no matter how low the odds of survival, you fight and you win. This is no different, you will fight her and you will get the Prince and Princess back. How just his voice could feel like the warmest hug to her she didn't know but it was a great comfort to her shredded soul.

Venus snapped at the guardians to get them moving, they still had a mission. With a nod and a jump over the crater, Makoto took off down the tunnel in front of her and her sisters. She knew that she was the fastest of the four of them and that she didn't know the way but that didn't stop her. She had to protect the Prince and Princess! She had to get there before one of them did something that couldn't be reversed.

Being in the lead was a blessing and a curse, as she was the first to spot her princess and her eternal lover. Her mouth was starting to form words only to stop like the rest of her body as she watched the one she swore to protect in this life cut her way through the male's chest with the holy sword. Her scream for her charge to stop falling on death's ears as she proceeded to sheath the blade into the flesh of her stomach.

Makato growled into the wasteland as she took off once more, this time with the goal of taking Beryl and her master down. She didn't care if the other followed her or not, she just needed to get her vengeance and she knew that the blizzard picking up was partially thanks to her. She knew that she should leave Mercury in front of her for this journey but she knew that she needed to protect at least the other three girls from the same fate as Sailor Moon

She failed her mission twice now, was she destined to never hold true to her title of protection? She was a failure, not deserving of her titles.

"Do you think we are close?" Jupiter asked the other three but before she could get an answer she heard that sick laugh once more. She looked up into the sky to see the clouds take a sinister shade as a face formed.

Just seeing that form take shape and hearing that sound made her want to launch her strongest attack, she didn't care that it would burn herself out. She would stand her ground, would destroy that shadow, the world if she needed to, or she would die trying. She joined her sisters in an attempt at the Planet Attack. When it did no damage, she knew that this mission would be next to impossible.

She called upon the lightning that her people tamed. She summoned it to her hands ready to end it all.
My Amazon, don't let your rage claim you! Makoto heard the voice of one she never thought she would hear again so soon.

"She must pay for what she has done." She growled out as more lightning gathered around her.

My love, the Prince and Princess still live. Falling into this rage will make it so you cannot do what needs to be done.

"What?" Her concentration snapped and her power dropped. "What do you mean?"

Focus on waking them up, not on revenge at this moment. His voice calmed her nerves. Take what I have left. She felt his warmth wrapped around her. The warmth warmth of a time long past, a time she wished she could relive.

"Of course." She watched as her sisters readied their own attacks. Following Nephrite's gentle suggestion, she thought of her Princess and tried to wake her up.

After expending the rest of her energy the Guardian of Lightning and Protection fell to her knees, her fingers digging into the snow. She started to feel darkness fall over her body, but she let out one final yell at the shade before letting it claim her.
Jupiter felt like she just blinked because after the darkness she was greeted with a bright light. As it passed, she saw a gloved hand in front of her eyes. Her eyes traveled up from the gloves, to the red sleeve, and up to a face that held so much love in her eyes. A face that she saw on a man that was just destroyed in front of her.

"You did well, Amazon." Nephrite pulled her into his arms and buried his face into her neck, his hands stroking her hair against her neck.

"I wish I could stay here with you forever." She told him not wanting to let go or move.

"I'm sorry that we met the way we did this life. If there was one thing I regret, it's not getting to you before the witch found me." His touch was just as gentle as she remembered.

She pulled back, only to lean in and kiss his lips. "You better be here when it is truly my time."

"I wouldn't dream of being anywhere else." He chuckled as he held her to him even stronger.

"Good"
