Principal Shaw and Shin lock eyes in silence. The tick and tock of Shaw's grandfather clock fill the room with a sense of tension, but Shin was accustomed to this by now. Principal Shaw was his benefactor; he's known him all his life. The earliest memory Shin has of Principal Shaw is when he prepared Shin's room in the orphanage. Shaw took time to make sure it was a fitting environment for a child like Shin to grow up in. As much as Shin refuses to admit it, Cameron understands him. But Shaw still has a job to do, and that job is to prepare Shin for Operation Mantle. Cameron breaks the silence.

Principal Shaw: "So... how was scho—"

Shin, frowning: "Good—say, when will the water at the orphanage return? I have dandruff."

Principal Shaw: "I'm working on it, Shin." He pinches the bridge of his nose with two fingers. "We have work to do. Grab your things and let's go."

Principal Shaw stands up and slowly walks to his bookcase. He reaches out his hand and expels a thread created with cursed energy. Using the thread, he shifts the bookshelf to the left, revealing an open corridor leading to the basement of the school. Principal Shaw walks through the corridor, and Shin follows.

Principal Shaw: "Today isn't going to be easy, so prepare yourself."

Shin: "Is it ever?"

Cameron Shaw's cursed technique is Threadcraft, a developed technique deriving from his family's history of creating woven cursed tools. Cameron's control over his cursed technique allows him to summon and manipulate threads made of pure cursed energy with extreme precision. These threads, which glow a bright red, can be used to bind, cut, restrain, repair, or fortify people or objects. Cameron can freely expel the threads from his body; however, the longer the thread, the more his technique is exhausted. To put it into perspective, if Cameron were to completely exhaust his cursed energy reserves, he could make a thread long enough to cover 100% of the Chrysler Building.

Principal Shaw and Shin walk side by side down to the basement. Shaw opens the door, revealing a huge training room, about the size of a regular Planet Fitness gym, that appears to have been completely destroyed. Pieces of drywall were torn down, furniture toppled and dismantled, and the roof seemingly about to collapse. Shin looks around with an expressionless reaction. This is routine for him, as Shin and Principal Shaw have trained in this room every day for many years, trying to master Shin's control over his cursed technique. After each day of training, the room ends up destroyed.

Shaw moves to the center of the room and gets down on one knee. He places both hands on the torn-up floor and begins to concentrate his threads into the ground. Suddenly, thousands of threads burst through the walls and begin weaving into the broken furniture, repairing the torn walls and fixing the ceiling to pristine condition. Shin watches as the threads repair his mistakes. Once the repairs are complete, Shaw disconnects the threads from his body, placing an extremely minor burden on his cursed energy reserves. Principal Shaw faces Shin.

Principal Shaw: "Yesterday was a wildfire, Shin. You barely held yourself together. You gotta keep those emotions in check, or you'll end up tearing this place apart again and again. Thank GOD for the binding vow we made. Otherwise, you might as well have destroyed the entire school. Also, I hope you realize that I know when you take off your blindfold, right? I made that blindfold for you to keep it on at all times. You left behind some nasty residuals on Murphy Street."

When Shin first awakened his cursed technique at 13, Principal Shaw wove together a blindfold for him to wear. This special blindfold locks away all the cursed energy of an individual, and as a result, disables their cursed technique. However, this can only be achieved if the wearer of the blindfold submits to the chains. To prevent accidents from happening, Cameron Shaw and Shin Gojo Collins formed a binding vow to further secure Shin's cursed technique. The conditions for the binding vow are as follows:

1: Cameron Shaw has complete control over Shin's cursed energy output via the blindfold.
2: Using Threadcraft, Cameron Shaw can adjust Shin's cursed energy output by loosening or tightening the chains secured on Shin's Six Eyes.
3: In the event that Shin does not submit to the chains, Threadcraft can forcefully tighten the chains around Shin's Six Eyes and lock his technique away.

Shin remains quiet, as if acknowledging that Shaw is right.

Principal Shaw: "Listen, Shin, I know you're getting older and that you want to master your technique quicker, but that just can't happen if you don't put in the effort to keep your emotions at bay. I've said it before a million times, but I'll say it again. Cursed energy is negative emotions, so the more negative emotions you let out, the harder it is to keep your technique controlled. Now, lower your blindfold and let's get started."

Shin thinks about what Principal Shaw says, and it pisses him off. Everything Shaw said pisses him off because it was everything he needed to hear. Frustration begins to build deep in Shin's soul as the chains on his Six Eyes begin to loosen. Shin can now feel his cursed energy flowing through him once again.

Shin nods, lets out a soft sigh, and places his right hand on the blindfold. Slowly, he lowers his blindfold and activates his Six Eyes, causing a bright blue glow to emit from his irises. Shin clasps his hands together to activate his technique.

Shin: "Void Matrix, Lapse: 50% output."

Shin Gojo Collins' cursed technique is called Void Matrix. Void Matrix grants the ability to call upon the void, forming zones where the fabric of space bends to his will. These spatial distortions act as pockets of pure void, altering the environment and his opponents' movements with extreme precision. Instead of the vast, overwhelming infinity that Satoru Gojo commands, Void Matrix's abilities are more focused on creating dense, localized zones of control, allowing for the use of gravity, pressure, and space compression in battle. These voids manifest as two expressions: Lapse: Blue Void and Reversal: Red Void. Blue Void is an imaginary mass that controls spatial compression, allowing for the accurate compression of matter. Reversal: Red Void condenses matter into a singular point and expels it outward, all in a fraction of a microsecond. In essence, this is a strong mutation of Satoru Gojo's Limitless technique. However, Shin Collins has weak control over the two expressions of Void Matrix and can only push out 50% of his Lapse technique.

As Shin incants his Lapse technique, a mass of blackish-blue Void Matrix Lapse begins to form behind him, about the size of a basketball. Pieces of the recently repaired floor begin to tear off and attach to the mass. In response, Principal Shaw reaches his hand out and launches a woven thread that has been sharpened using cursed energy. Right as the thread is about to hit him, it slows down and eventually stops in its tracks, before repelling back toward Principal Shaw's face. This was Shin Collins' infinity, but instead of freezing objects in place, it repels objects back to their point of origin or wherever Shin wishes to redirect them. Shaw stands strong as he simply absorbs the cursed thread back into his body.

The blackish-blue mass pulses behind Shin. He directs his hands forward and hurls it toward Shaw. In an instant, Shaw is already moving to avoid it, cursed threads flying out to yank him to safety. But it isn't enough. Shin twists his hands, following Shaw's trajectory. For the first time in a while, Shaw's eyes widen, if only for a fraction of a second. Principal Shaw knows what he has to do. He quickly expels a thread to the other side of the gym, right to where Shin is, and begins grappling toward it, quickly gaining velocity. He raises his fist and lands a strong punch to Shin's face. However, Shaw is repelled by Shin's infinity and is sent flying up. But this was part of his plan.

Principal Shaw: "Domain Amplification..."

Shaw murmurs, fingers weaving through the air. A green aura flares to life around him, just as Shin tries to adjust his focus, but it's too late. Thousands of threads burst from Shaw's body, now infused with domain amplification, making a straight line toward Shin. Shin tries to redirect his mass of blue to Shaw, but the threads are too quick. They pierce through Shin's infinity and begin wrapping around him, immobilizing him. As they restrain his hands, the imaginary mass dissipates. Shaw lands on the ground and tugs on his amplified cursed threads, causing them to dig into Shin's skin. He grunts in pain as the threads pull him to the ground. Shaw approaches the defeated Shin.

Principal Shaw: "Get up, Shin. Don't tell me this is all it takes to defeat you."

Shin clenches his restrained fists but stays quiet. The more Principal Shaw talks about his weakness, the more it feels like a burden he never wanted to bear. He wasn't like Satoru—he wasn't the strongest.

Shin: "Why does it have to be me Cameron? Why do I have to be the one that has to become the strongest? I dont know if I even WANT to be the strongest, that was Satorus job, and he FAILED. He was massacerd by Sukuna in Shinjuku.. I dont want to be massacerd!"

Cameron bites his tounge as he sees Shin in this volitile state. He squats down and tries to calm him down

Cameron Shaw: "The reason your fath-"

Shin, shouting: "HIS NAME IS SATORU GOJO, HE IS NOT MY FATHER."

The weight of the expectations, of his name, pressed on Shin like an invisible force. Every day the same cycle repeated. Train. Fail. Repeat. Train. Fail. Repeat. He wasn't Satoru. He didn't want to be Satoru. Shin begins resisting the cursed threads harder, and Shaw knew they werent going to hold much longer. He quickly expends more threads to secure Shin, but it becomes useless. Shins negative emotions now became too much for his body to contain, and cursed energy began oozing from his body by the leiter. Shin explodes the cursed threads secured all over his body and Shaw is pushed back from the pressure and falls down to a knee. Shin stands back up and stares directly at Shaw, the lights above them casting a shadow on Shin, his face is obscured by the Darkness. Shaw could feel the air shift—like it always did when Shin was on the edge. For a brief moment, he wondered if this time would be different, if Shin could hold it together. But the shining red light Cameron could see out the corner of his eye answerd this. An aura of pure cursed energy engulfs Shin like a flame. Shin raises his right arm, and forms a finger gun and tilts it sideways, pointing it directly at Shaw. A blackish red mass of unstable Reversal Red Void forms as the cuts on Shin begin to slowly and unevenly heal. The cursed energy rolling off Shin felt like a storm. Shaw's heart began to accelerate. He had to find a way to subdue him, had to find a way to stop this before it was too late. But the raw power in the boys shining blue eyes… it was like staring at Satoru Gojo himself.
