Freeze
Chapter 3: Fun At Mount Amity
"WHY WON'T ANYONE BE MY FRIEND?!..."Klemper cried as he was finally sucked inside the thermos.
Danny clasp it shut.
"Finally. What an annoying pest..."He said, annoyed.
"At least fighting him wasn't a bad way to cool off..."Tucker joked, since Klemper used his ice powers and froze a lot of stuff.
"It's almost ironic. If it wasn't for a fact that he'd go on an unpredictable destructive tantrum and endanger lives as soon as he didn't get what he'd want, I almost wouldn't mind him being on the loose since he could have been at least useful against this heat wave..."Sam commented.
"You know why we can't let him lose, but I will remind you: Number 1) He's super annoying...number 2) He won't ever stop trying to make a friend in the worst way possible, which leads me to number 3) Like you said, his tantrums are way too unpredictable and dangerous..." Danny counted as he raised one finger per reason.
He then puts the thermos away. Once he returned, his friends started asking questions again.
"Come on...what happened next?..." Tucker asked, wanting to hear more.
"Okay, where was I?..."Danny wondered.
"We had just mentioned that Mom and Dad went into the woods to find what they thought was a ghost, I went to the spa for some me time and you and Star left to go watch you fall flat on your face on ice..."Jazz said, while her brother rolled his eyes.
"Thank you for the reminder ..." He said sarcastically, while his girlfriend giggled.
"It wasn't that bad, Boo. Like the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. So, you shouldn't expect to learn to become a master skater in a day..."Star said, though she was kinda downplaying how that lesson went before continuing with the story.
Story
Danny's parents had just left to hunt ghosts, and everyone else was trying to have fun at the resort in their own way.
Just as promised, the ski resort had a little of everything and our heroes and their families tried to find something to occupy their time.
For our favorite couple, it's ice skating.
Star brought Danny to a frozen lake that was being utilized for skating by the resort. There, she wore her new ice skates she got for Christmas and began to skate with her boyfriend.
They started out ice skating together, holding both hands and being close. They both enjoyed the closeness but Star also wanted to try showing off her skills.
"Watch this, Boo!..." She said, as she began to skate with grace and finesse.
The blonde girl decided to show off a bit, skating a beautiful heart with "D + S" in it with an arrow through it, making it a cute and heartwarming sight.
"Try and top that, Boo... "Star challenged in a flirty way.
Danny tried, wanting to impress her...or at least not make a fool of himself and possibly surprise his girlfriend with some decent moves. After all if she is no longer impressed by his ghost powers, he can at least show her that he's a fast learner.
He only recently got the hang of skating without falling thanks to Star, but he still needed plenty of practice to say the least as he soon was going to find out.
"Seems doable..." He said, feeling confident as he got ready. "How hard can it be?..."He thought, unaware that he just jinxed himself.
The halfa tried to similarly make an elaborate stunt like she did but just ended up face planting/
"Danny!..."Star called out in concern.
"I'm really glad that Jazz wasn't there to see that..." Danny muttered as Star helped him get back onto his feet.
"Here Boo, let me help you..."Star said sweetly, hooking her arm through his.
"I don't want to pull you down with me..." Danny said, worried.
"You won't. I trust you..." Star said, as she helped him up.
Once he was on his feet again, the blonde girl tried to teach him the basics of ice skating again.
"Now it's not flying, it's more sliding like this..."She said as she tried to demonstrate.
Danny was sure to watch so he could see where he went wrong. Once she was done, they tried skating together so he could get some more practice. Star and Danny moved together with the latter feeling uneasy on his feet but with his girlfriend helping him.
Pretty soon, he got the hang of it quickly.
"Glide and pivot, glide and pivot. You catch on quick, Danny..."Star said in an encouraging way.
"I have a good teacher..." Danny said sweetly, making Star blush.
"Oh, you..."She said with a giggle as her boyfriend kept gliding on the ice.
After a few minutes, he tried to skate by himself and soon tried a more advance stunt again...only to end up with the same result as before.
"Maybe I'll just stick to glide and pivot..."Danny muttered, annoyed while his girlfriend tried to help him.
"Weird...you were doing so well. What happened?..."Star said, as she helped him up again.
"Gliding on the ice is one thing but doing all the jumps and spins you do is another story..." Danny pointed out.
"Don't feel bad. I've been skating since I was a little kid. You'll get better with practice and then you'll get the hang of it..."Star said, trying to make him feel better.
"You have ice powers Boo. I'm sure sooner or later you'll get the hang of ice skating too..."She added.
"Love your optimism, Starlight..."Danny said with a smile. "But I have the feeling it's going to be easier said than done, I mean I do have strength in ghost mode but in my human form? That's an entirely different story..."He muttered.
"Don't sell yourself short, Boo. If I could get the hang of ghost fighting, then I have no doubt you'll get the hang of ice skating. You just need someone to show you the ropes and teach you how to not to faceplant..." Star said, trying to be encouraging.
"You're not wrong about that..." Her boyfriend said.
"Because I hardly am, Boo..." She teased.
"Besides, you didn't learn to use your ghost powers in a day, did you?..." Star asked with a knowing smile.
"OK, that's a fair point Starlight..." Danny said, as he couldn't argue with that logic.
The blonde nodded before she continued with her lesson but tried to consider what would be the more practical option right now.
"Maybe we should do something less complicated. I keep forgetting that you're more used to the impossible given your powers so ironically something more normal is not too easy for you, Boo..."Star said, mentioning her theory.
"Balancing on thin blades on ice is not normal..."Danny snarked.
"It is to me, but I've been skating since I was three. We should just keep practicing the basics and see how just how well you can learn while moving on the ice..."His girlfriend said, while he sent her a flirty look again.
"Maybe I will get the hang of the normal bit with the right skating instructor. As in one who is blonde, beautiful and can kick ghost butt..." He said in a coy and flirtatious way, making his girlfriend giggle.
"Cute, but sure. I'll teach you what I know, and you'll be a pro in no time, Boo-Boo. I just know it!..." Star said in a flirty way, using the nickname she used for special times as she fluttered her eyes at him.
"Thanks for the burst of confidence Starlight..." The hero said with a coy smile before he kissed her on the cheek, making her giggle even more now.
"You're welcome. Luckily, you've got a pro like me watching your back, Danny-Boo..."She said in a flirty way.
"The bragging came out of nowhere. And yet, I don't mind being taught in the advanced course of ice skating. So long as whenever I trip and fell next time, I can count on my personal ice-skating coach to nurse me back into shape..."He said in an equally flirty way, smiling at his girlfriend.
"Does this mean you're asking me to be your coach and nurse? Or both?..." His girlfriend said with a giggle.
"If you're interested ..."He said, making her laugh again.
The lovestruck teens then went back to skating on the ice with Star teaching Danny some of the fundamentals of ice skating again, which lead to some mixed results.
Again.
Present time
"Ugh! So many cavity inducing flirting..."Sam said as she made a gagging noise for additional effect.
"Hey, were telling it how it happened..." Danny replied, sounding annoyed.
"Well, you don't need to describe EVERY single moment of that trip in detail, ya know..." Sam complained, and Tucker nodded in agreement.
"Yeah dude, just keep it with the ghost stuff. All the lovey-dovey stuff keep it to yourself..." The Techno geek suggested.
"Just be glad you weren't there to see it constantly on the first day there. It was almost like watching a badly written romance before and after we got to that place..."Jazz complained, albeit exaggerated a bit.
Danny and Star just rolled their eyes in annoyance.
"On that trip, we were lucky enough to even have that moment in the first place..." Danny muttered, as if he recalled something he didn't like while his friends seemed confused by what he meant.
"Back to the story, we were still ice skating, and my mom showed up to give us some pointers... and let's just say it got weird..." The blonde said, not sure how else to describe it.
"Weird how?..." Sam asked.
"You'll find out soon enough..." Danny said cryptically as his girlfriend continued the story.
Back to the story
The teen couple were still ice skating and Star was still trying to teach her boyfriend how to skate properly.
"Watch this..."Star said as she began to glide on the ice with utmost grace and beauty, creating a perfect figure eight with ease.
"Very impressive. I'm pretty sure some pro figure skating teams got a spot waiting for you..."Danny commented as he clapped his hands.
"Aw, you're so sweet. But I hardly think that's the case, Danny-Boo..."Star giggled.
"Hey, don't sell yourself short Starlight. You're a great skating instructor..." Danny said with an encouraging tone.
"And you're doing pretty good for a beginner, Boo. You even landed on your side instead of your cute face last time..." Star said, as she decided to try build up her boyfriend's confidence in himself again.
"Nice pep talk, Starlight..." Danny said.
"I do my best, Boo..." She replied with a shrug.
"You sure do. I do like how you nurse me whenever I fall on the ice...makes it worth it, especially when you kiss the boo boo's..."Danny said in a coy way, making her giggle.
"Anything for you, Boo Boo. I like your cute face not messed up by ice. But if you feel like you need some extra nursing, I wouldn't be opposed to kissing your boo-boo again. So long as you keep improving your ice staking skills..."She added in a cutesy way, as her boyfriend sighed.
"Whatever the case is, just know that this is way different than what I'm used to. Heck, it makes my training in the Far Frozen seem almost normal in comparison..." Danny said with some amusement.
Before Star could comment, another person joined them. Stella's mother appeared, skating by.
"Hello children. So, you're skating here too. I guess great minds really do think alike..."Stella said, being fast and graceful on her skates.
"Hey mom, where is Pierre?..."Star asked, not seeing her little brother anywhere.
"Oh, I wanted to do some ice skating, so I placed him in the resorts day care. Oh, you should have seen him, it was so cute how he was making new friends so fast..." Stella gushed, as she even showed them a photo that she took of her baby boy at the day care's entrance before she left him with the day care worker.
"No doubt he'll fit in just fine and is having a lot of fun right now..."She said with confidence, as she kept talking to her daughter and Danny.
Meanwhile
Just as Stella said Pierre was in the ski resort's daycare right now. The little baby was currently playing with some new friends he made, while the daycare worker supervised.
"Okay, kids. Let's try to have some fun and listen to some nice songs. Afterwards, we'll see colors..."One of the employees said to the kids.
Pierre wasn't listening to the songs as he instead was playing with a stuffed polarbear he found, until his eyes spotted something that caught his attention.
It was a stuffed yeti doll. A bunch of them that were placed on a shelf that was far too high for any infant to reach.
Pierre knew that he couldn't possibly reach those yeti toys even if he tried, so he tried to think of another way to get then down. That's when he also noticed a light green ball that was just small, light and bouncy enough for him to get the yeti toys down for everyone to play with.
Once all the daycare employees turned around and went to find another CD to entertain the babies, Pierre held the small light green ball in his hands and stared at the shelf with the snow yeti's on it. Then he arched back his arms as far as he physically can and tossed the light green ball at the wall. The light green ball bounced off the wall and rapidly stared bouncing off another few walls like a pinball until it bounced off a corner knocked all pf the snow yeti toys off the shelf, and they dropped to the floor and landed a few feet in front of Pierre and the other babies.
The little boy clapped his hands in excitement and giggled happily.
"Fuzzy!..."He said happily as he grabbed one and hugged it.
The other babies noticed the new toys and crawled or toddled over to play with them. They all followed Pierre's lead and started to hug the toys and play with each of them in their own way.
"Fun!..."Pierre cheered as he played with the new toy, and his new friends did the same.
Pierre and the other children giggled in victory as they continued to play around with their toys as the daycare worker came rushing after hearing all of that noise.
She then noticed the kids with the yeti toys and was confused.
"How'd you get those down?..."She asked out loud while the children couldn't answer her as they kept playing with the snow yeti toys and the light green ball.
Back with our heroes
Our heroes were still ice skating, or rather Star was both trying to teach her boyfriend and also impress him with her smooth skating moves...and helped him out whenever he fell.
"This is harder than I thought it would be..." Danny said as he massages his back.
"You're doing better, Boo. Really. You'll get it in no time, it's just a matter of practice!..."Star said as she decided to try something less complicated after she helped her boyfriend up.
Her mother was still here for some reason, showing off her own skating moves and being quite graceful despite having been out of practice for a while.
As Star decided to join for mother on the ice and show the difference in skill between the two of them to her boyfriend. Danny was no expert, but it was pretty obvious.
Her mother was surprisingly the more graceful of the two. Star, not wanting to look bad in comparison to her mother, decided to up her game.
"Hey, watch this!..." The blonde said as she quickly did a double flip jump with grace and ease.
"What do you think?..."Star asked her mother, who sent her an impressed smile but also a critical one as well.
"Well, you did very well but your second spin was little sloppy, and you missed the landing by a few inches. But what do I know...it's been so long since I trained..."Stella said, making Danny curious about what she just said.
"Trained?..."Danny asked, not seeing his girlfriend's "no" gesture she made with her hands.
"Oh, it was a long time ago. When I was Star's age, I dreamed of being a figure skater. I was even on a team in high school and college, competing in multiple tournaments and was even nominated to represent my college at the championship..." Stella said.
Then, as if to prove it, she quickly did a triple axel with grace, speed and ease that left the ghost boy speechless at Stella's display.
"Wow. That was pretty good..."Danny said, impressed.
"Thank you, Danny..."Stella said, feeling proud as she then did several salchows and jumps that made it clear she is NOT a rookie.
Not in the very least.
Once she was done showing off, the ghost boy very impressed with Stella's skills in ice skating.
"That was amazing, Mrs. Be-...Stella, that must have taken a lot of practice to have gotten it just right..." The ghost boy said.
"And you would be right..." Stella said with a nod, as she did a double axel now with perfection as she kept talking, showing off her natural talent on the ice.
As well as talk about her past.
"It was all so fun. Dressing up in a dazzling costume, gliding on the ice like a fairy and soaring like how a bird flies in the sky.. It was all so magical..."She said in a nostalgic way as she smiled, making it clear she still had a passion for the sport.
"Sounds like you had your fair share of competitors..." Danny said.
"Yep, way too many to count. And not a lot of them were the friendly kind of sports rival that you'd sometimes see in movies but no worries, I crushed them all in the skating ring..."Stella said with a strange, competitive smile as she recalled the past.
Danny blinked at that response.
"You know how competitive my mom can get..."Star whispered to her boyfriend as her mother kept talking about the old days.
"I can hear you, Dear. And anyway, I'm only showing you how it's done..."The woman said with amusement as she recalled the good old days and she did some more intense skating moves as if showing off to the teens.
Danny and Star watched as Stella had a nostalgic look on her face as she talked about her past and what she viewed as her glory days.
"Yep, I was the best. I made it to the championship and won plenty of trophies. I was even offered a chance to go pro and compete with real champions..."Stella said, before a look of regret arrived on her face.
"What happened?..."Danny asked and Stella sighed.
"Oh, same old story of Beatrice the dream killer. I wanted to go pro but that woman declared that it wasn't for ladies of our lineage to, in her own words, "dance around on ice like performing monkeys" as a career and stopped me. Said it was beneath our families dignity or whatever..."Stella said bitterly, not surprising the young couple in the slightest.
"Why am I not surprised that old bat would say something that awful..."Danny said, frowning.
"I'll say, it's as if her sole purpose on this Earth is to suck the happiness out of any people she encounters in her miserable life..." Star said with a deep frown.
"Yeah..."Stella said, not disagreeing with either of them.
The mere mention of Stella's mother being brought up had immediately soured the mood. which was fitting since that woman doesn't had nothing but bitterness in her body.
"Hearing these kind of stories about the old bat makes me not regret giving her the fright of her miserable, bitter, crabby existence..." Danny whispered to his girlfriend who nodded in agreement.
"Honestly at this point, I'm of the opinion that you were too lenient on the old crone, Danny-Boo..." Star whispered back.
"What are you two whispering about?..." Stella asked curiously, having not heard them since they were whispering.
"NOTHING!..." Both teenagers said at the same time.
Stella just shrugged, thinking it was probably nothing important and just teen stuff. So she decided not to ask for any more specifics on it.
Recalling her past and her mother made Stella frown and just made her even more glad that she got that restraining order when she did. While she couldn't change her past, she at least would make sure that her daughter would never be under that old bat's control.
However even by keeping her away, Stella looked depressed for a moment, which the teens noticed.
"Mom?..."Star asked and her mom snapped out of it.
"Oh, uh...anyway...if you want. I can give some pointers..."Stella offered with a forced smile on her face.
"Uh..."Both teens paused.
"Oh, it will be fun. You could maybe even learn to do a proper salchow or axel and maybe even a spiral. With enough practice I could even teach you both all about couples skating, even a bit about the history of ice skating and where some moves came from if you want..." Stella said, sounding knowledgeable.
Star didn't want to cut her alone time short with Danny but she also didn't want to hurt her mom's feelings, so she thought fast.
"Actually Mom. Danny and I are gonna try skiing next. Wanna try everything here before the trip is over..."Star said.
"Oh...Ok..."Stella said, trying hard not to sound disappointed.
She hid it with a smile and some parental teasing. Which she did right away.
"Have fun you two and be careful. And have fun but not too much fun if you get my drift..." Stella teased a bit.
Danny and Star blushed embarrassed at her teasing.
"Mom!..."Star complained while her mother giggled.
"Oh, you make it too easy, Darling..."Stella said, while her daughter rolled her eyes.
"Parents..."They thought in embarrassment, walking off.
The couple soon left together, leaving Stella on the ice.
Once they were gone, the blonde woman sighed thinking back of when she was young, back before her dreams shattered before she went back to skating.
Present Time
"Harsh. Your mom had to give up her dream because of Beatrice The Terrible..."Tuck said, feeling kind of sorry for her.
"Are you surprised? We're talking about the same woman who wanted me to marry a creep like Toadman and almost destroyed the lives of the people around me out petty revenge because she didn't get her way and always told me that my interest in art is a waste of time..."Star replied with contempt.
"Honestly, I don't think anyone is surprised by how awful that old monster is. Not only is getting restraining orders and being on the country club's banned list bad enough but I think even Vlad wouldn't like her, I'm even certain place in the Ghost Zone for people like her and I'm not talking about Walker's Prison..."Danny said with a frown, as he thought about the bat.
"I wouldn't rule it out..." Star said in agreement.
"Anyway, let's get back to the story, talking about the bitter old bat is a mood killer..." His girlfriend said and the others nodded before she continued with the story.
Back to the story
Star and Danny were now trying skiing.
Star easily skied the slopes and made it down without much difficulty, having a lot of fun while doing so.
"Catch me if you can, Boo..."The blonde girl called out, she even began laughing out of joy from the fun as she skied until she reached the bottom of the hill.
"Yahoo! That was awesome. Not as fun as flying through the skies while being in my boyfriend's arms, but still pretty fun..."She said, grinning after she lifted up her winter goggles and pulled her pink scarf from her face.
Now it was her boyfriends turn.
"Come on Boo, you can do it!..."Star encouraged as her boyfriend came down the hill on his skiis, which he manages to get down on a pretty good start on the slope.
"Good Danny! You-..."
"Oof!..." Danny hit a tree, sliding comically onto the ground.
"… Almost got it..." Star winced with one eye closed.
"How are winter sports harder than flying?..."Danny grumbled as Star went to check up on him.
Star double checked her boyfriend for any cuts or bruises anywhere. Fortunately, there seems to be none.
Danny tried again, and fell on his face and now had snow in his hair.
He tried to get up again but his girlfriend stopped him because she immediately noticed a tiny bruise on Danny's cheek. So she gave him quick loving peak on his cheek where the tiny bruise was to help him feel better. Which did help as the half ghost then proceeded to try again.
And fell flat on his face. Yet again.
"Whoa!..." Danny called falling down, skis dangled from his legs.
Star giggled.
"You all right, Boo?..."She asked.
"I think so but flying was easier to learn than all of this..." Danny grumbled as Star helped him back to his feet.
"Don't worry. We got five days here, I'm sure that with some tutoring from me, you'll get better at this in no time..."Star said, making him smile slightly.
"I think that I'll take you up on that offer. I need all the help I can get..." He chuckled, but accidentally slipped to the ground yet again.
As Star tried to help her man keep his balance on his skiies and how to better turn from one direction from another with better ease, some nearby resort guests were talking, and they couldn't help but overhear the conversation.
"Why don't we go on a hike? Maybe see some of the winter wildlife around here and get a nice picture of the scenery?..."One guy suggested to his friend.
"No way! I heard the mountain here is haunted! I heard that there is supposed to be some abominable snowman who lives high in the mountain and freezes anything that gets close!..."He said, sounding spooked.
"Yikes! That sounds worse than coming across a bear! No way am I becoming frozen!..."Another guest said, sounding just as spooked as his friend.
Danny and Star heard this and Danny rolled his eyes.
"Just what we need. Lame ghost stories on what is suppose to be a ghost free ski trip..."Danny muttered.
"Danny, shouldn't we look into it?..."Star asked but her boyfriend waved it off
"Star, take it from a son of ghost hunters...most ghost stories are just that stories people make up to get money or it was a misunderstanding caused by paranoia or people in the past trying to understand a natural phenomenon that grew into a myth after they mistook it and it turns out to be something much more mundane..."He said.
"Speaking from experience?..."Star asked and her boyfriend sighed.
"Pretty much. Every vacation we went on the only haunted thing we saw was a hotel employee riding on a horse dyed green with veggie juice to entertain people..."Danny said, rubbing his temple as he recalled that experience.
"Your parents covered him in goo, didn't they?..."Star guessed.
"Paid for his dry cleaning and we had to leave 3 days early..." Danny grumbled.
"Besides, if there actually WAS a ghost haunting this place, I would have sensed it..."Danny said confidently.
"Good point..."Star said in agreement, seeing her boyfriend's point and went back to teach him the ropes of some winter sports.
The couple decided to not mind this and go back to skiing, or rather Star went back to teaching her boyfriend the basics and he tried his best not to lose his balance again.
Which was easier said than done, much to the half ghost boy's expense.
While Star was teaching Danny how to skii, the half ghost boy felt his feet lose balance again and caused both of them to trip and fell onto a heap of snow. Instead of feeling upset or disappointed from the fall, both teenagers laughed at the accidental display they both went through as the lovestruck teens stared at each other lovingly. It was almost too good an opportunity to miss.
Danny and Star were about to share a kiss, but were interrupted by a kid coming between them on a snowboard that unknowingly spray both of them with snow until someone pointed it out to him.
"Sorry dudes!..."He said, looking apologetic as an older girl, presumably his sister, was also snowboarding and unintentionally interrupting their kiss...by unintentionally covering them with even more snow.
"Oliver, watch where you're riding!..." The older girl said as she zipped down after her brother, sending the couple an apologetic look.
"Sorry!..."She called out as she kept snowboarding.
Danny and Star blinked and were covered from head to toe in so much snow.
The two of them were practically a matching pair of snowman and snowwoman, laying on the snowy ground together.
"Well, that ruined the moment..."Star said.
"We'll have plenty more..."Danny said to Star, who was still covered in snow.
"You can phase through snow, right, Boo?..." Star said.
"I can..." He confirmed, turning them both intangible once the other guests left, so they could be snow free.
With the mood ruined and deciding to take a break from skiing, they left the area and tried to find something else to do.
Elsewhere
While everyone else was having fun, Jack and Maddie were still searching for ghosts.
"See anything yet, Maddie?..."Jack asked, holding a bazooka and wanting to fight ghost scum.
Maddie checked the sensors and frowned.
"Not yet Jack but let's not lose patience, we just began our search..."Maddie said, looking through a scanner and trying to be optimistic.
"True, though I can't wait to test our latest ghost hunting gadget on any spook we might encounter!..."
"Just make sure it's a ghost and not a guest at the ski resort, Jack." Maddie said. "Remember we're trying NOT to be thrown out..."She added.
"You got it baby cakes..." Jack said with a nod, as they continued to investigate the area for any signs of ectoplasmic activity.
They had spent an hour looking and found nothing yet. She then noticed, for a brief moment, she thought that she just witnessed one of her ghost scanners blip up for a quick second before it vanished.
"Huh...I just had a reading and it disappeared. Please don't tell me that the cold temperature here is effecting the battery now!..."Maddie said, sounding frustrated now.
"Don't give up, Sweetie. There are ghosts around here, I can feel it. I feel it in my bones..."Jack said, refusing to give up.
"Let's give another look sound this area. Maybe there was something we missed.."Maddie suggested.
"On it, baby..."Jack said as they went back to the RV and began their search all over again.
Back at the ski resort
Stella was still figure skating, enjoying the moment and being on the ice. While her body immediately remembered all of her ice skating training, though she hasn't done much skating in general since before Pierre was born.
However, once she put on her ice skates and stepped on the ice, it all slowly came back to her. Just like riding a bicycle, she never truly forgot how to skate on the ice. All she needed was a moment to retrace her steps and then she could figure skate as if she has been doing it all her life.
"What else should I do before I have to pick up Pierre from daycare? There are so many options here..."Stella thought as she gracefully spun around.
It'd be nice to skate with her daughter like when she was little but Star was growing up it was only natural she wanted to spend time with Danny. And she knew that she needed to let the kids have their fun.
"Maybe I can try skiing later too. It's been a while but might as well. I just hope my jump turns aren't too rusty. After that, maybe a trip to the spa too. I did hear there is a nice café and bakery near there that brew some good coffee. Maybe I can try some while I'm there..."She thought as she did a double salchow without any trouble.
Figure skating had always calmed Stella's mind and help her balance her mentality and her emotions almost to near perfect harmony. Like birds that knew how to soar through the skies and around the clouds, it was essentially second nature for her at this point.
There was always something Zen about being on the ice to her. It was something that her mother could never understand. A part of her was still thinking back of what could have been if she had just followed her dreams back then, instead of being her mother's little puppet and pawn, and be whatever she wanted to be.
"What ifs don't do anything, I mean I can't exactly change the past..." Stella thought with bitterness as she did an axel.
The thought of her mother made her upset, and she recalled how Beatrice had sunk to her lowest when she was trying to coerce her into letting her do worse to Star. Which is something that will NEVER happen ever again, so long as Stella is around.
"Over my dead body will I let you ever go near my girl again! She doesn't even deserve to be called a grandmother...or a mother..."Stella thought with bitterness as she tried not to think about that and enjoy her little trip.
There was also the fact Beatrice was losing her senses, ranting how ghosts were out to get her and how Danny Phantom was somehow the cause of it all yet begged them to tell no one she said that out loud like she was worried someone was listening. The blonde woman worried that her mother's slow loss of sanity might be hereditary.
Fear took hold before she shook her head.
"No! Get her out of your mind. I don't need that old hag clouding my mind anyway. I've finally outgrown that part of my old life..."Stella thought with bitterness, but tried not to think about it.
Stella even did some spiral maneuvers with a few flip jumps to lift her mood for a few minutes but wasn't having as much fun as a few moments ago.
She was about to leave, but spotted Johnathan.
"Oh...hi..."Stella said, smiling slightly upon seeing him.
"Hi..."Johnathan said casually.
The blonde women began to feel her face heat up and didn't if it was because of all of her figure skating or...something else. She wasn't sure, didn't seem to mind it all that much.
"So, where are you going?..."Stella asked.
"I figure I could give ice fishing a chance and enjoy some personal time..."Her ex said.
"Glad to see your finally trying to have some fun..."Stella said, smiling.
"Hey, I'll have you know that quite I'm capable of having fun, ya know. I just like to fun at my own speed and not being pushed into it. Oh, Almost forgot. Jack and Maddie left us some ghost gear just in case..."Johnathan said.
His ex-wife spotted all the ghost hunting gear and looked at the arsenal Jack and Maddie brought.
Do you actually think we might be attacked by ghosts all the way out here?..."Stella questioned.
"Not really but who knows. Just because ghosts only showed up in Amity Park doesn't mean they aren't in other places. For all we know, they might just be better at hiding or could even be in plain sight. You and I both how random ghosts can be at times..."Johnathan said.
"Right...random..."Stella muttered.
"And let's not forget about the ghost bats that came out of nowhere and scared your old hag of a mother to death..."Johnathan said with a smile.
"Must you enjoy her misery?..." Stella asked, although she couldn't exactly blame him.
"Can't help it, that's the first time I mentioned the old crone and a positive emotion pops up..." He replied.
"Ok, sure, now what were you saying about the ghost gear?..." Stella asked as she picked up one particular anti-ghost equipment and examined it closely.
"These are the gear and there's things here are the Frumpi boots..."Johnathan said, while his ex-wife eyed the boots in a critical manner.
"Ugh...frumpy is right. No offense to Jack and Maddie but fur is so out of style..."Stella said snobbishly.
John than blinked, finding that reaction familiar.
"Like mother like daughter, I guess fashion sense must be genetic..."He thought.
"Frumpi actually stands for Fenton...a bunch of other stuff I don't remember...but look..."Johnathan said as he pressed a button and skates appeared.
That got Stella's attention.
"Oh my, now that's quite the invention..."She said, looking impressed.
"That's not all..."Johnathan said as he pressed another button and the drill appeared.
He went to the area designated for ice fishing, and managed to drill a perfect hole in seconds.
"Huh...Jack was right. It can be used for ice fishing..."Johnathan said, while Stella looked curious.
"Impressive. Not the fashion statement I would go but it's cutting edge and at least it's functional..."She commented.
"Yeah, but function over fashion is what I'd prefer with ghost hunting gear..."Her ex said as he pushed another button and a show board appeared.
Stella seemed fascinated and also couldn't help but be a little critical about the aesthetic.
"You know ..if it had a different color scheme and ditched the tacky fake fur, I could see these flying off the shelves. With some modifications, they'd be making money hand over fist..."Stella said as she looked at the high-tech boots.
"You know Jack and Maddie. They prioritized hunting ghosts than making some fashion statement. And I can't help but agree with them on that..."Her ex said.
"Still...I really need to talk to those two about finding an agent to help make some of their gadgets a bit more marketable for the public. Besides, with more and more ghosts showing up across the country, Maddie and Jack may need to thinking about expanding their business in the near future..." Stella thought out loud.
"Maybe I should ask Daddy or Liam to talk to them about it..."She considered.
"Of course you'd focus on the fashion..."Johanthan thought with a sign.
"You do that but I think it'd be best to get the Fenton's approval first before making any decisions on their behalf..."Her ex-husband said as he pulled out his fishing equipment and began to drop a line with some bait for the fish to bite on.
Stella soon realized that they were alone right now.
Jack and Maddie were busy, Pierre is still in daycare and the kids were having their own fun.L eaving Stella alone with her ex. The blonde woman felt a little off, for reasons she didn't completely understand, such as some warmth on her face despite the cold.
"I suppose we could do something together. Before I have to go pick up Pierre..."She thought, it'd be nice to spend time with someone.
Even if it's her ex.
"So, Jo-..."Stella began but was cut off when a very familiar voice interrupted her.
"Oh, Johnathan!~..."Another feminine voice was heard.
One that made Johnathan smile widen and Stella's drop.
It was Solene, dressed in a lovely new blue snow suit. The blonde man's smile widened when he saw her and placed his ice fishing equipment to his side while he got up and walked towards her.
"Solene, I thought you wouldn't be here until tomorrow..."Johnathan said in a surprised yet pleased tone, hugging her fiercely.
"So did I..."Stella thought but didn't voice as the female lawyer spoke next.
"I managed to finish up early and head up her ahead of schedule. So I came up. Thankfully there were no delays either, how is tht for a fun surprise? Plus, I gotta use my vacations days sometimes before I keel over from overwork, am I right?..."Solene quipped.
"Well, according to Stella, you are since she basically said the same thing to me earlier. She even said what you just said almost word for word about using vacation days..."Johnathan said, noticing the deja vu
"Well, that's what vacation days are for..." Solene and Stella said in unison, surprising everyone that they had been in sync like that.
"That was weird..."Stella said.
"Yeah, it was..."Solene said.
"I'm sure that was just a fluke..."Johnathan said, after they mirrored each other like that.
"Still, maybe I just have a type..."He joked.
"What's he talking about?..."Stella asked.
"No clue .."Solene said, not getting it.
"What I mean is...never mind..."He said, shaking his head.
His girlfriend then shrugged and then quick moved the topic of conversation in a different direction.
"I'm also ready excited to spread my day off with all of you, especially you Jonathan..."She said sweetly to her boyfriend.
"So am I..."Johnathan said in a flirty way.
Stella witness this, frowned and crossed her arms.
"Just my luck, talk about bad timing..."She thought in annoyance as the two lawyers kept flirting with each other.
"You know the kids aren't the only ones who can make this a romantic weekend, what do you say councilor?... " Solene aske, holding onto her boyfriends arm.
Johnathan smiled.
"I concur councilor. Let's be off, to discuss this privately..."Her boyfriend said.
"Sounds good to me. We could ski, do some sight-seeing and head the snow resort's cafe, I heard they make some great coffee there..."Solene suggested.
"Works for me. Ice fishing can wait. See you later Stella..."The two lawyers walked off, unaware of Stella's frown.
The blonde woman crossed her arms, an odd look on her face before she realized what she was doing and snapped out of it.
"Why am I feeling like this?..."She thought, shaking her head.
She quickly left the skating area and decided to go try skiing to clear her head, yes that would probably help.
Afterwards, she'll go check on Pierre and pick him up from the skii resort's daycare. After all, she had nothing else to do and she was sure that he was having fun she was sure.
"I'm don't understand this feeling. Maybe I'm coming down with something..."Stella thought, her good mood from earlier lessened and skating suddenly seemed less fun.
Present Time
"Before you guys asked, my parents and Solene gave us the details...though for some reason my Mon sounded weird when I asked her about it..."Star said, sounding clueless about the situation her parents are in.
Danny was just as clueless as he continued to speak.
"Anyway, Star and I tried a few more things...until we decided it was best to take a break..."Danny said, not wanting to recall how many times he flopped when he was trying to learn how to skate or ski.
"I guess it's my turn. Anyone want to know what I was up to during that trip?..."Jazz said.
"Yeah, what were you doing while Danny and Star found new ways to make out while doing winter sports..."Tucker quipped, while his friends sent him an annoyed frowned.
Jazz sighed.
"I rather not talk about it, but for the sake context and to make things less confusing later. I'll tell you what I was doing while our two lovebirds were busy at the time..." Jazz said as she continued with her part of the story.

With Jazz
The red haired girl had arrived to the spa and just finished a facial and massage. Jazz was trying to figure out if she wanted to get manicure or a pedicure next, but she shrugged her shoulders and ultimately decided to try both.
Once done, she looked at her appearance with her compact mirror.
"I know that I am a smart, independent, sophisticated young woman and don't care about shallow and meaningless nonsense of superficial nonsense that girls like Paulina and Colette are obsessed with...but that facial really did work wonders..."Jazz thought with a smile on her face as she noticed how her face almost seemed to be glowing now.
The young redheaded Fenton teen then wondered what she should do next. She noticed a cafe that was next to the spa and decided to grab some coffee while she was here.
As Jazz was about to order a coffee, someone spotted her and approached her
It was a boy who was around her age, maybe a little older. He was tall, with wavy blonde hair, gray eyes and seemed to have an intellectual and sophisticated aura to him.
He was also very handsome, Jazz couldn't help but notice.
He sent her a charming smile before turning to the barista, politely greeting them before making his order.
"I'll have a latte. Extra foam..." The guy said in a classy sounding tone, as his eyes then landed on Jazz.
"Have you tried the lattes here? They are very good..."The mysterious guy said.
Jazz was briefly admiring him, before she snapped out of it.
"Uh...I was just about to order one of them..."She said, stammering slightly.
The guy then turned to the barista and handed him some bills, more than what his latte was worth.
"My treat..."The guy said, sending her a charming smile.
"Oh...you don't have to..."Jazz said in a flustered way, not expecting someone else to pay for her coffee while the guy insisted.
"No problem, I'm a regular here. Take my word for it, this coffee will make you feel like a million bucks. I guarantee it..."He said pleasantly, which added to his charisma.
"My name is Baylor. My parents work as instructors here. And you?..."The guy, Baylor introduced himself.
"I'm Jasmine. Jazz..just a guest saying the week..."She introduced, as she shook his hand.
"Charmed..."Baylor said, as he gave her hand a quick kiss.
Jazz blushed at this.
"Maybe this vacation will be interesting ...She thought, as the coffee shop worker then handed them their lattes.
Jazz took the coffee and seem a bit excited to try it out...with this new guy who kept buttering her up and sweet talking her.
Present Time
"So, you met a guy?..."Tuck asked, curious.
Jazz was a lot more discreet with her love life than Danny who made it obvious.
"Something like that. It's not too important ..."Jazz said, not wanting to continue.
"Moving on..."Danny said, as he continue the story.
His sister's love life was as nauseating to him as his was to hers...at least it seemed that way to him.
Back to the story
With Danny and Star
After trying...and failing a few more times on the slopes, Danny and Star decided to take a break.
They got hungry and went to get some lunch nearby. They went to the local restaurant near the snow resort and cafe and got lunch from the buffet table, as well as freshly baked bear claws for desserts.
The heroic teenaged couple were sitting at a booth right next to the crystal clear window and greatly enjoying their respective ordered lunches.
"This is delicious..."Star said as she happily took a bite out of a freshly baked bear claw.
"I know. And i's awesome to have some fries with kiwi chocolate milkshake and they even let me custom order my own shake..." Danny said, as he dipped a couple of his french fries into his milkshake and processed to eat them and take a drink from his beverage.
Star recalled the grossed out expression from one of the resorts employee when Danny made that order and she sighed.
"I'll never understand why you pick up the weirdest ingredients to make these milkshakes..." The blonde said, though she did try not to make a face at some of his experimental shakes.
"Hey, don't knock it till you try it Starlight..." Danny teased as he took another sip from his milkshake.
"I already tried them. I admit that I do like some of them like the kiwi fudge one but...this one?..."Star wondered, as he ordered mango, banana cream with jalapeños and peanut butter.
Yes, peanut butter and jalapeños.
Danny offered her a sip and she took one, the result was a silent one with a shrug of shoulders.
"Eh..I mean...I do taste the sweet flavor of mango and the jalapeños are interesting I guess...and the salt from the French fries. But it's just all of flavors that crash into one another...and honestly, I think we are the only two people who can eat this without feeling too weirded out..."She said with a shrug, not hating it but not loving it either.
"Meh...I guess this kind of treat is more of an acquired taste..."Danny said as he took another sip.
"Whatever helps you cope, Danny-boo..." Star muttered quietly.
Danny sent her a playful look.
"Well, since you want to try out my new experimental milkshakes. I'm you would also be opposed to a little challenge now..."He said mischievously as he playfully held up a straw, getting her attention.
"Oh, so that's how it's gonna be, huh..."Star said in a playfully challenging way.
The two then playfully sword fight with their plastic straws in a careful manner for a few moments and laughed, before they calmed down and saw how close they were now. Both smiled and made it clear they wanted to kiss.
After Danny and Star leaned in but before theirs lips could meet, Danny's ghost sense went off. The ghost boy groaned as he knew what that meant.
"Oh great. Just what we need. A working vacation..."Danny snarked.
"Seriously?..."Star complained. "Aren't ghosts suppose to have some kind of truce during this time of year?..."She asked.
"They do but that's only on Christmas. Before and after that day, it's business as usual unless there is someone like the ghost writer who doesn't follow the rules ..."Danny explained, before he cringed.
"Ew, I feel gross. I just sounded like Walker..."He then groaned in disgust.
"Double ew!..." Star also cringed at being remained of that ghost and what his to them.
Danny's ghost sense went off again, reminding the couple that they can't ignore this. The blonde girl just sighed.
"Let's just get this over with. I wanna have to keep worrying about our vacation being ruined by some random ghost all weekend and I don't wanna miss out on the steak sandwiches when they serve them..."Star said and her boyfriend nodded.
Danny hid behind a nearby tree, changed forms and went to go investigate.
All the while, Star needed to suit up with her ghost gear, which she brought with herself.
"So glad I managed to custom made a winter version of this thing..."Star said as she found a nearby bathroom and no one was there.
A few minutes later, she was wearing her ghost hunting gear and her saber in hand, ready to kick ghost butt. Man, she missed having powers which could take a second to change.
"I need to get Tucker to figure out a collapsible version I can change into with a button like Valerie's suit. Would save a lot more time..."She thought, before she went after her boyfriend to help him.
"Let's hope we can capture this ghost quick and call it a day and quickly get back to what is suppose to be our totally fun winter trip together..." She thought, unaware that she just jinxed herself.
Present Time
Before Danny could continue, they suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
"Oh, what now?..."Danny complained.
"Pizza delivery..."A voice was heard.
Danny blinked.
"Huh? We didn't order pizza..."He said.
"Oh, I did. They came faster than I expected..."Tucker said, having lost track of time due to the story.
"You ordered a pizza during a heatwave?..."Star asked incredulously, wonder why he would order a pizza of all things in this weather.
"I got hungry, and we don't exactly have to worry about any sodas getting warm thanks to Danny the walking ice maker..."Tucker said.
"Oh, is that what I am? Well in that case..." The half ghost boy quickly created a big block of ice in front of his glasses wearing friend.
"...You'll be in charge of chipping all the ice for everyone..." Danny said, not particularly appreciating being treated as a walking ice maker without being asked first.
"Totally worth it..."Tucker replied, as he stood up and went to find something to help break the big block of ice.
"I'll go answer the door..." Danny said, as he went to open the door.
"Hold on Danny/Danny-boo..."Both Sam and Star said, halting the the half ghost boy from taking another step. "Here's a tip for the driver, Boo/Danny..." Sam and Star said at the same time as they both gave Danny cash.
They both blinked.
"That was weird..."Sam said.
"Yes, it was..."Star agreed.
"As for the tip...well... anyone willing to work in this heatwave deserves a big tip..."The blonde girl said.
The goth girl nodded.
"I was pretty much thinking the same thing. Plus, the delivery guy is probably being paid minimum wage anyway. So if anything, we kinda owe him a bigger tip for delivering a pizza in this kind of weather ..."Sam said, while Tucker paid for the pizza itself, while Danny used the cash given to give the pizza delivery guy an impressive tip.
"Wow, 15 bucks. Thanks. And by the way, your AC is totally awesome! I can feel the cold breeze from out here..."The pizza guy, Nate, said in an appreciative tone before he left.
"No problem and Thanks for delivering the pizza during this heatwave!..."Danny said, before sending an annoyed look at Tucker who shrugged before he went to look for an ice chipper.
The delivery guy just offered a thumbs up at the ghost boy and drove off towards the next delivery, while Danny shut the door closed.
Noticing that Tucker was already hard at work on chipping away on the big block of ice to offer ice for everyone carbonated beverages, Tucker frowned but did the job as the ghost boy suddenly felt his stomach growling.
"So, let's eat first and then continue the story..."Danny said, also feeling hungry now.
"Yeah, thanks to the ghost ice...I guess it is cool enough that I can enjoy this without the worry of burning my tongue or worse..."Star said as she took a slice.
"I'm just glad you remembered to order me a veggie one, Tuck..."Sam said.
"I'm just glad that I remembered to order a few sodas with the pizzas. So something for everyone. Eating pizza without soda is like eating cake without ice cream on it..."Tucker said, as they all began to eat pizza in the still cool living room thanks to Danny's ice powers.
"You won't hear me complaining..."Jazz said, as joyfully eating pizza and a nice cold beverage along with her friends.
"Ditto..."Star said, as she took a small bite out of her pizza slice.
Team Phantom enjoyed their quick lunch, briefly pausing the story and taking a quick break to satisfy their empty stomachs.

REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:
RonaldM40196867:
1) I suppose I would add some more action scenes.
2) I probably would have liked to use Julie Yamamoto, Trixie Carter, Operetta, Clover from Totally Spies, Marlowe, Techna, Princess Diaspro, Frieda Goren, Sha Shan Nguyen from The Spectacular Spider-Man and Danika Hunnicutt.
3) I will let you know.
4) Yes, I thought using Klemper in the story would be fitting since he is an ice ghost.
61394: Thank you :)
Luiz4200: Yeah.
Invader Johnny: Yeah.
Scooter2: Okay, I look forward to your suggestions.
JDF Legacier Morphicon: Thank you :)
Here are my responses to your questions:
1) I think Dairy King would be good at golf.
2) Not really. He is just happy to be able to spend time with her and hasn't really thought that far ahead yet.
3) No.
4) He recalled how well she handled the ghost pirates during his first encounter with Youngblood and Star insisted that she wanted to help him with his ghost fights.
Soggy Fysher Woods: Thank you for the suggestion. I will consider it.
:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
