Rylie woke up late. The game and the after party the night before took a lot out of her. She had slept right threw her blazing alarm clock. When her eyes finally fluttered open she saw that she had a half hour to make it to work. The blond flew out of bed running to her bathroom undressing on her way. The shower was done in record time. Finding a clean Mystic Grill shirt and pants weren't as easy. After finding the shirt, she threw it on over her bra and rushed for her underwear draw after finding a clean pair and some jeans she grabbed her phone and her purse. Checking the clock she had fifteen minutes to run a half hour walk.

"Crap." She whispered.

Stefan had offered her his car the other day. Without thinking twice to wake him up she ran up to his room on the third floor. She knocked not to loud to scare him, but softly enough to wake him. When there was no response she cracked the door open and saw his sleeping form on his bed.

"Stefan?" She said like her knock. Not loud but not soft. "Stefan?" She said again a little louder as she moved forward. The teen still didn't move. "Stefan?" She said again even louder. Stefan moaned and turned to his side. "Stefan, wake up. It's important."

"It's Saturday. I don't have to be up." He mumbled into his pillow burying his face into it.

"Please for five seconds. Just wake up." Stefan moved his head to see the older blonde. He must have seen the hurried look on her face. He shot up.

"Rylie, what's wrong?" he asked then looked at his clock.

"I need your car. I'm running really late for work. Can I borrow it?" she asked talking super-fast.

"Yeah, yeah. The keys are on the table by my door."

"Thanks, Stef. I owe you. Go back to sleep. I'll see you later." She said grabbing the keys and closing the door on her way out. She ran down the stairs past her own room. Running down the hallway and down the stairs to the main floor. She past Damon's room as well thinking the raven head must still be asleep since the door was still closed. She ran to the door and flew it open. She collided with a form standing in front of her. She looked up and saw a handsome man standing in front of her. He smiled at her. Rylie had never seen this man before but she thought he was actually kind of cute.

"I'm sorry." She said staring at him. "Can I help you?" she asked.

"I'm looking for Stefan or Damon. Are they in?" he asked.

"Um, yeah. But they are both sleeping. Anything I can help you with?"

"I'm a friend of theirs. I'll wait until they wake." He said trying to get around her. But she moved in front of him.

"I'm sorry. But I don't think the guys would like someone in their house without them knowing."

"Yet, one of them has you sneaking out in the morning." He must have seen the confused look on her face. "You are sneaking out on one of them aren't you?"

"Uh, no. I live here." She said. "I'm not doing what you are implying mister…?"

"Klaus."

"Klaus?" she asked. That was a different name.

"It's Niklaus, I rather Klaus. However, my darling little sister likes to call me Nik."

"Well, Klaus, I have never heard of you from either brother so I'm sorry you can't come in. And I need to leave so it was nice meeting you but I have to go." She said politely moving him to the side as she closed the door behind her. She turned back to see his light blue eyes staring down at her. "I'll let them know you stopped by."

His face got a little closer. "You will go upstairs and tell them now."

"No, I need to go to work now. But nice try. I don't take demands from a stranger." She said and walked away to the red sports car in the drive way.

Rylie arrived right on time for her shift. Matt was already there opening up the registers. She didn't know how he could be up after playing the night before and partying it up after. She waved to him as she walked into the back room. She put her stuff down on the empty shelf for the employees. Tying her apron around her waist she grabbed her order pad and cell phone and put them into the apron.

Walking back into the main part of the building she yawned. She still hadn't had her morning coffee and needed about 5 more hours of sleep. Matt had already made the coffee and it was just finishing up. Rylie walked over took a mug and made herself a cup. Light and sweet just the way she liked it.

"Great party last night huh?" the young teen said. Rylie turned in mid sip and nodded.

"I'm getting too old to do that." She joked. "I'm so tired. I woke up so late and had to almost scream to wake Stefan up to borrow his car." She didn't mention her encounter with the stranger that had the odd name. She thought about him on the ride to work and couldn't seem to forget how he demanded her to go and wake the brothers up. What a jerk, she thought.

"You need a car, Ry. I don't know how you walk everywhere in this town." Matt said while making his own coffee.

"I want to be just as in shape as you, Matt." She said squeezing his arm while she laughed. "I don't mind walking. Gives me a chance to think about things. Clears my head too." If you walked today, all you would think about would be Klaus, she thought. Why couldn't she get the guy out of her head?

Customers started filling in for the early bird specials. Mostly older couples and a few people who had to work at their own places at the ungodly hour. Matt and Rylie worked through the morning without getting to talk too much. Matt had the bar section for the breakfast shift and told her they would switch when the lunch crowd came in.

People were coming in and out most of the early morning to late morning. Some for food and others just for coffees to go. With all the orders to fill Rylie didn't think of the British stranger that popped up that morning to the Boarding House. Her mind was strictly on work. It paid off in the end. She ended up with a good amount of tips just from the breakfast crowd. By the time lunch came, Matt and Rylie switched sections and the day would speed up even faster. The quicker the shift ended the quicker she could go home and sleep.

"Excuse me? Could I have a beer?" She heard from behind her taking the thoughts of her very comfortable bed out from her head. She turned around and made a small gasp. "Did I scare you? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."

"One beer coming up." She said taking the beer from the small fridge and popping the cap off in a fluid motion.

"I never got your name this morning. You ran out of there before I could get it." Klaus said.

"Rylie." She said. Why was this guy here? And how did he know where she worked? "Why are you here?" she asked bluntly.

Klaus smirked before answering. "I wanted a beer, love. And to apologize for earlier."

"How did you know I was here?"

"I saw your shirt. I might have been gone for a while, but I do remember those vile shirts."

Rylie looked down at herself. And shrugged. "I don't think they're too bad. And why are you apologizing for this morning I was the rude one." Besides you demanding I wake Stefan and Damon, she thought.

"I was rude for showing up. I spoke with the brothers. And they tell me you are staying with them. I wish I could have been part of that welcoming committee."

"Yeah, I'm at the Boarding House for the time being." She said as she made a drink for someone else who waved for another one.

"You aren't leaving the town so soon are you?" he asked.

"No, I like it here." But if I have to I will, she thought to herself again.

"Fantastic." Klaus said with a smile. "My family is having a party night. I would love for you to accompany me."

Was this guy seriously asking her on a date when they just met this morning? Yeah, Rylie needed to go back to sleep and wake up all over again. Maybe she shouldn't have missed coffee at the Boarding House this morning. And he wants her to meet his family? Was he crazy? She didn't know him from a hole in the wall.

"I don't know Klaus. I mean I just met you." She said rubbing her arm.

"I see that you're hesitant. And I understand. But I want to repay you for demanding you wake up your landlords this morning. I will even supply you with an outfit."

What this guy serious? He wanted to not only have her come to a party, but even 'supply her with an outfit'?

"I don't know." She replied.

"My little sister invited Matt, if that makes you feel any better. Just so you have someone you know there."

"Can I let you know? I really need to think about this."

"If that's what you would like. But please, don't take too long. I need to know when to send the outfit to the Boarding House for you."

"Yeah, sure." Was all she could get out before she went to another customer asking for another drink.

Rylie continued to work while thinking about this date with Klaus. She never let her smile fall as she filled orders for the customers. Should she go to this party with this British guy she just met? She didn't have to work the following day so it wouldn't matter if she was late for work from sleeping in. She needed to talk to Caroline. But she had a feeling the young blonde was most likely still sleeping. Caroline had gotten extremely drunk and was up way past the time that Rylee went home.

Tyler had thrown a huge party at his house. Everyone was there. Including Damon, which surprised Rylie. But he was actually for once a decent human being. He even offered her a ride home, since hers was drunk and she couldn't find the younger brother.

Klaus wouldn't leave the Grill. He kept looking up when she walked past. He is probably waiting for an answer every time I walk by, she thought. She ignored him as much as possible. But felt his eyes on her most of the time.

"Excuse me, can I have some help over here?" she heard from a few stools down. She knew the voice.

"I will get your whiskey in a minute, Damon." She said without looking.

"Is this what I get for driving you home last night?" she turned around slightly.

"Are you really throwing that in my face? You're the one that offered to drive me since I couldn't get home." She said with a little attitude as she slid his whiskey to him quite roughly.

"Well, the Lockwood house is a little far to walk Blondie."

"Isn't that what you call Caroline?"

"Yeah, well. You're a blonde too."

"Really? Am I?" she said very sarcastically. Damon smirked at this.

The last couple of weeks that Rylie had been at the Boarding House, Damon and Rylie have grown a sarcastic relationship. She knew where she could go with him, and she knew where not to go. And she believed he did too.

"Is Damon bothering you?" she heard Klaus say. She looked over and the small smile she had toward Damon slowly disappeared as she remembered that he still wanted an answer.

"No, we were just joking." She said.

"What are you doing here Klaus?"

"It's a public place, Damon. I'm enjoying a beer."

Rylie could tell that Damon and Klaus weren't huge fans of each other. She really didn't want to be a part of this. But she knew the real reason why he was here. And it wasn't for a beer.

"He's here to see me." She said bravely. Damon's head snapped towards her. She saw the fury in his eyes. Klaus looked over slowly and smiled. That was when she saw his dimples. Wow, he's cuter then she thought he was from the start, she thought.

"He's what?" was all Damon got out.

"Klaus and I are talking about me going to his family's party tonight." She shrugged like it was no big deal.

"You are going to his family's party?" he said surprised.

"Well, I haven't given him an answer yet. But I was thinking about it."

"Rylie, can I talk to you? Privately?" Damon asked.

"Sorry, Damon. I'm working." She realized then and there, he didn't want her near Klaus. "Then I have to go home and get ready for the party."

"Well, sorry to burst your party bubble. But you already have plans with Stefan, Elena and I."

"No I don't." Rylie said with confusion on her face.

"We made the plans last night. We said we would do a house thing."

"I don't remember agreeing to that."

"You were a little drunk."

"Well," Klaus said interrupting. "Your little brother and his girlfriend said they would be attending the Mikaelson party." Damon snapped his head to look at the older vampire.

"He wouldn't make plans like that without me knowing." Damon rebutted.

"Sorry, mate. He did."

"What time should I be ready?" Rylie asked Klaus. The Brit had a smile of victory on his face.

AN:::: Sorry for such a delay in updating. You the saying "life gets in the way"? Yeah, well…That is my life. I have been dealing with medical issues and well as work. I have recently been promoted and have been working 40-60 hour work weeks. I'm not sure when the next chapter will be up. But I'm hoping sooner than this and the last one.

I am also thinking of making this a Klaus/Rylie/Damon love triangle thing. It wasn't my first intention. But as I have the story out in my head it might work. Let me know what you think in the reviews! I need feedback! Like what do you want to happen, what you think will happen. All of that is what keeps me motivated to keep going!

So please review! Thanks!
