Opening his eyes long before his alarm went off and realizing there was a small weight resting upon his chest, Davis looked down and found the sleeping form of DemiVeemon curled up upon his body.

Smiling to himself as he allowed his partner his sleep, Davis closed his eyes for a moment as he remembered the night before, where after calming his sister down a little and explaining the situation to her, as well as helping to spare Tai her further wrath, Davis said his goodnights to the Kamiya siblings, Sora, TK, Matt, Gatomon and Patamon, before the Digidestined of Miracles and his Digimon partner spent another hour reassuring Jun that they would do their best to be safe in their battle against Millenniummon and the Demon Lords.

Reopening his eyes and keeping his arms rested behind his head, Davis remained in place, staring at the ceiling and thinking further on the events of the day before.

Thinking about what occurred in the Digital World, Davis allowed himself to think about the conversation he, Vee, Kari and Gatomon had with Beelzemon, before his mind drifted back to the mystery boy and his Digimon partner, both of whom seemed to be enemies of the Demon Lords, but also seemed to have little interest in joining them against their common foes.

Narrowing his eyes, the Digidestined of Miracles then thought of the brief 'talk' he and the others had with Millenniummon himself, of how the evil being knew enough about each of them to taunt the group, as well as showing the Digidestined his true nature.

Clenching his right hand tightly, Davis knew at that moment that they needed to stop Millenniummon, not only to protect the Digital World, but to keep those he cared for safe from his evil.

Relaxing once more and allowing what Millenniummon said about him to fade from his mind, Davis looked back down upon DemiVeemon and allowed a smile to grace his face, knowing that as peaceful as his partner looked, he would need to wake him up soon.

Looking back at the ceiling and remembering another part of the previous day, Davis was more than certain that he and Vee would soon have company over for breakfast, not that he minded in the slightest.

.

.

.

At the same time Davis had awoken and within the comforts of her own bedroom, Kari found herself staring at the ceiling after a restless night's sleep.

Despite the fact that Gatomon was curled up by her leg and safely within her care, the Digidestined of Light found that she could not ease her mind, especially not after the events of the previous day.

Ever since she returned from the Digital World after Apoclymon's defeat, and after telling Davis about her adventure, Kari had found herself dreaming of the day her maroon haired friend would join her as a Digidestined himself, with herself at his side, along with Gatomon and whatever partner Davis would get as they battled evil and protected the innocent Digimon, side by side.

And as soon as she saw that Digivice materialized within Davis' hand, Kari could barely contain her excitement to see her dream coming true, the threat of Millenniummon and the Demon Lords not dampening her spirits in the slightest.

However and after the events of the previous day, the younger of the Kamiya siblings felt her dream slowly shattering, with Kari feeling useless over the fact that when he needed her the most, she couldn't do anything, while Yolei, Cody and their new Digimon partners had to come in and save the day.

Keeping a tight hold upon her Digivice and bringing it up so she could look upon it, Kari expressed a soft and solemn sigh as she remained within her depressed state of mind.

Though she remembered when Gennai told her and the other Digidestined that their time protecting the Digital World was over, the brunette couldn't just let go of this feeling, of this need to be there for Davis, to be able to protect her best friend as he had done for her for so many years.

Clenching her Digivice tighter, determination grew within Kari's eyes, knowing that no matter what, she would find a way to stand by Davis' side.

But first, Kari knew she was going to need a decent breakfast before she could start her day.

.

.

.

As the sun slowly began to rise into the skies above Odaiba, Gatomon found herself resting within Kari's arms as her partner carried her down the street from the Kamiyas' apartment complex.

Although enjoying the combination of Kari's soft embrace and to take in the sights of the Real World once again, the Digimon of Light remained perplexed as to where they were going, and why they were up so early, especially since they had another hour before Kari had to be at school.

After gently waking her, Gatomon watched as Kari took a shower and quickly got dressed, before leaving a note for Tai as the Digidestined of Light picked her partner up and left the apartment.

"Kari, shouldn't we have had breakfast first?" The feline Digimon questioned as she tilted her head to look upon her partner in fair confusion.

"Trust me, Gatomon, you don't want my Mom's cooking." Kari replied with a small shiver as she recalled the last... 'thing' her mother, Yuuko Kamiya, decided to try and cook for her children.

"No, we're heading somewhere to have a perfect meal for breakfast." The brunette replied as she gained a bright smile, which confused Gatomon for a moment, before the Digimon of Light realized where she and Kari were heading to, the Motomiyas' apartment complex.

Taking a short ride in the elevator and soon arriving at their destination, Kari and Gatomon found themselves once again at the entrance to Davis' apartment, where the young Kamiya lightly knocked upon the door and waited for a reply.

Barely a moment later, the door opened to reveal Davis' sister, who was in the midst of brushing her teeth, but she seemed in high spirits to see the younger of the Kamiya siblings.

Removing the toothbrush from her mouth, Jun thensaid with a bright smile. "Good morning, Kari."

Looking down upon Gatomon as she rested within Kari's embrace, the older of the Motomiya siblings pointed her brush toward the feline Digimon and questioned with understandable uncertainty. "And Gatomon, right?"

Seeing the Digimon of Light nod in reply and from the friendly encounter she experienced with DemiVeemon, Jun then told the pair with a continued smile. "Come on in, he's almost done with the first serving."

While Kari's smile grew toward Jun's kind words, Gatomon remained confused as her partner carried her into the Motomiyas' apartment, while behind them, Jun closed the door as she made her way back to the bathroom to finish brushing her teeth.

Once inside the Motomiyas' living room, however, things finally made sense to Gatomon as she found her focus drawn to the kitchen, where she saw Davis diligently preparing a large breakfast for multiple people, a meal consisting of eggs, bacon, pancakes and other treats.

"Good morning, Gatomon. Good morning Kari!" DemiVeemon's voice was then heard, the familiar cheerfulness causing the Digidestined and Digimon of Light to turn their attention toward the dining room table and to see Davis' Digimon partner.

Sitting upon one of the chairs, Kari and Gatomon saw how several books and a pillow were used in order to allow the small Digimon to be seated and allowed him to eat with Davis and Jun.

'Oh my God, that is adorable.' The duo of Light thought together as they looked upon DemiVeemon and how he was seated.

While allowing Gatomon to sit beside and speak to DemiVeemon, Kari turned her attention back toward Davis, who looked from over his shoulder and gave the Digidestined of Light a kind smile.

"Have a seat, I'll give you your plates." The maroon haired Digidestined said with a soft smile, one Kari always found endearing and encouraging, especially as she watched on as Davis continued to cook

Having been the only person other than his sister, Kari knew that it was Davis' passion for cooking, and that one day he hoped to own his own restaurant, maybe even his own food chain, a thought that often brought a smile to Kari's face.

Taking a seat at the table and placing Gatomon down in the chair next to her, Kari watched as Jun took a seat across from her, before Davis came around with plates consisting of the eggs, bacon and pancakes, which he set before Jun, Kari and Gatomon.

Placing a small plate with a small stack of pancakes before DemiVeemon and believing it would be enough to fill the small Digimon's stomach, Davis started to say with a kind tone of voice. "OK, Vee, start with this, and if you want more just..."

Before he or his sister could even blink, and before he could even finish his sentence, Davis watched as DemiVeemon opened his mouth to an almost comically size and quickly consumed the stack of pancakes, the In-Training Digimon's cheeks nearly twice his own size as he briefly chewed the pancakes, before swallowing, his body not even changing to the amount of food he just consumed as Davis finished with a slight astonishment in his voice. "... ask."

"That was super yummy!" DemiVeemon said as his eyes lit with joy, before lifting his plate with his tiny hands and holding it out to Davis as he asked with a retained politeness and respect. "Can I please have some more?"

To the shock shown by the Motomiya siblings, Kari giggled lightly, before she informed the pair. "Sorry, I should have warned you about In-Training Digimon. They can be bottomless pits when it comes to food."

"Noted." Davis merely said in reply, before he took his Digimon partner's plate and provided DemiVeemon with seconds.

"Oh god, I hope he doesn't eat though our food allowance." Jun whined as she deflated within her chair, her reaction causing Kari and Gatomon to chuckle softly.

Once he refilled DemiVeemon's plate and piling some food upon his own plate, Davis sat at the table in a chair next to Kari's own.

As the Motomiya sibling, the Digidestined of Light and the Digimon enjoyed their breakfast, Gatomon and DemiVeemon remained with smiles to the wondrous tastes of Davis' cooking which the pair picked upon the evident dedication the maroon haired Digidestined had placed within his cooking.

Taking a bite into a piece of bacon and enjoying both the taste and flavouring, Kari looked at Davis out of the corner of her eyes, where she saw her best friend seemingly lost in thought and seemingly off.

Taking a moment to try and think of what could be bothering her friend, Kari's eyes widened as she remembered the remark Millenniummon made about the Digidestined of Miracles the day before.

'The lost child, alone and out of place within the world.' The words echoed clearly in her mind as Kari remembered when she first met Davis, finding him sitting beneath a tree alone and in a solemn state, and since then, the brunette did everything she could to make sure her best friend held a smile upon his face.

Placing her hand upon the top of Davis' as her way to comfort him, Kari watched as the maroon haired Digidestined snapped out from his stupor and looked upon Kari with a curious expression, while the young Kamiya held an endearing smile as she looked upon the Digidestined of Miracles.

"Don't let his words get to you. You're not alone or out of place in the world. You have friends and family who care a lot about you. You're an amazing person who everyone looks up to. And most of all, you have me and I'll always be there for you." Kari said with a bright smile and a small blush upon her face as she spoke her heart, where her blush grew a little as Davis smiled back at her.

"Thanks, Kari. You really are the best." Davis said in reply.

Staring into one another's eyes for a moment as they enjoyed the care each felt for one another, Davis and Kari failed to notice the endearing smile which adorned Jun's face.

Ever since he first met Kari, Jun had seen her brother break out of his shell and develop into a kind, sweet and selfless person, one she had come to admire and respect, while also feeling grateful to Kari and her continued support of Davis, to the point that like many, Jun could only wonder when, not if, the pair would get together.

And while Jun loved the bond Davis and Kari shared, the maroon haired girl was a little peeved that this meant that her brother had contact with Kari's brother, who Jun found to be a reckless annoyance, no matter what Kari or Sora said about the older Kamiya.

Though grateful that Kari managed to convince Davis not to imitate her brother, Jun found her brother still looking up to Tai, getting into soccer because of him and often at times getting into situations which sometimes lead him to some form of harm, which lead to Jun making sure to let Tai know that should anything ever happen to her brother that the older Kamiya would feel her wrath.

And with Davis and Kari now fighting alongside these Digimon against an evil she could barely comprehend, Jun would continue to let Tai know who she would blame.

As that thought crossed Jun's mind and back within his own bedroom, Tai woke up with a startled yelp, the Digidestined of Courage looking around as he felt a sense of impending doom directed upon him.

As Davis, Kari, Jun, DemiVeemon and Gatomon finished their breakfast, the older of the Motomiya siblings looked between the two Digimon, before she questioned with an understandable curiosity. "And just how are you two planning on staying hidden all day? I doubt you'll be comfortable in Davis or Kari's backpacks for an entire school day."

Bringing up her paw as to earn Jun's attention, Gatomon kept a smile on her face as she told the older of the Motomiya siblings. "Don't worry, Patamon and I had to hide and conceal ourselves a lot the last time we were in this world, so we'll help DemiVeemon and the others stay hidden until we have to head back to the Digital World."

Nodding in reply to the feline Digimon's words, Jun took another fork full of egg, before she looked upon her brother and Kari, where she then asked with curiosity. "By the way, what was your blond friend's name again?"

Looking at Jun with a confused expression, Kari questioned herself. "You mean TK?"

"No, his brother." The maroon haired girl replied, where Davis then told his sister. "You mean Matt."

Seeing Jun nod her head and to see her casually eating the remains of her breakfast silently, Davis gained a curious expression as he then asked. "Why?"

"Just curious." Jun just said in reply, before a small smirk crossed her face as she told Davis with a soft humour within her voice. "I guess he was kind of cute."

To the older of the Motomiya siblings' remark, Davis and Kari stifled laughs, before the pair and their Digimon partners finished their meals and prepared to leave.

Approaching her brother and the Digidestined as they held their partners in their arms, Jun looked upon DemiVeemon and Gatomon, before she asked in appreciation. "Please, both of you, keep them safe."

"Don't worry, Jun. On my honour as a Royal Knight, I will always protect Davis and my friends!" DemiVeemon declared with a trustworthy tone of voice as he brought his right hand up and across his chest as a form of salute toward Davis' sister.

"I know you are trying to be serious, but it's hard to take you seriously when you look that adorable." Jun said with a deadpanned expression, one that caused DemiVeemon to deflate due to the lack of seriousness caused from his In-Training form.

Eventually and after saying their goodbyes, Davis and Kari left the Motomiyas' apartment and made their way towards school, with the Digidestined of Miracles, DemiVeemon and Gatomon each determined to head to the Digital World after classes and to do all they could against Millenniummon, the Demon Lords and their servants' evil.

Feeling herself being lifted up a little, Gatomon was confused as Kari leaned in and whispered into her ear. "Gatomon, please meet me at the computer lab an hour before the others arrive."

Confused by the request, Gatomon looked up at her partner, where she saw a determination within Kari's eyes, as well as something more she couldn't quite make out, almost like a desperation.

Silently accepting her partner's request, Gatomon fell into thought as she knew something was eating at Kari, something she knew had to do with Davis and the events from the previous day.

But whatever it was, whatever Kari needed, Gatomon knew she would be there by the brunette's side, no matter the outcome.

.

.

.

Just an hour before her classes had ended for the day, Kari quickly made her way toward the computer lab, the brunette grateful by the fact that she had a study period today and was free to do as she desired.

Arriving toward the computer lab and looking within, a soft relief filled the Digidestined of Light to see no classes were being held within, while Gatomon just patiently waited for her.

Clenching her Digivice within her hand and entering the room, Kari approached her Digimon partner, her expression remaining serious and firm.

"Do DemiVeemon and the others know?" Kari questioned of her partner.

Although Kari hated being secretive toward her friends, she knew that if the others learnt what she was trying to do, they'd just stop her right away.

"I told Patamon that you wanted me here early and asked him to watch the others until Davis, TK and the others were ready." The Digimon of Light said in reply, though she wasn't exactly sure herself why she was in the lab so early, or to what exactly Kari had in mind.

Nodding in silent appreciation toward her Digimon partner, Kari then gestured for Gatomon to join her as the Digidestined of Light approached the computer.

Looking upon the screen and seeing the Digi-gate displayed upon the monitor, Kari held her Digivice out and declared with a growing determination within her voice. "Digi-port, open!"

Unbeknownst to Kari or to Gatomon a single individual watched as the pair were consumed in light and transported to the Digital World, where outside the window, Patamon held a look of concern upon his face.

Uncertain as to what Kari was up to but knowing she was putting herself in danger, the Digimon of Hope scampered as he began searching looking for TK, to inform his partner as to what had transpired.

.

.

.

Blinking her eyes as her surroundings changed, Kari not only found herself back in the Digital World, but to the brunette's surprise, she and Gatomon were now just outside of Gennai's house.

"You two are early." A friendly voice remarked from behind of Kari and Gatomon, the remark causing Kari to turn and to see Ogremon standing before her.

Knowing Ogremon's strength and his duty to protect others it was undoubtedly obvious to Kari and Gatomon that the Champion Level Digimon was making his rounds in order to keep Gennai's home safe from the forces of the dark legions.

"Yeah, I need to talk to Gennai before the others arrive." The Digidestined of Light explained in reply. "Is he inside?"

When Ogremon nodded toward her, Kari then thanked the Ogre Digimon and headed toward the house, her eyes filled with determination as Gatomon moved to be by her side as she looked upon her partner with concern, the Digimon of Light worried for Kari and whatever it was she wished to discuss with Gennai.

.

.

.

Within his house, Gennai kept a smile upon his face as he poured a fresh pot of tea for his guests.

Taking a seat in front of the Digidestined and Digimon of Light, the Digital Human looked upon the pair with a growing sense of curiosity.

Though he had known the Digidestined of Light for a shorter amount of time when compared to her brother, Gennai was almost certain he knew how Kari thought, what motivated her and the compassion she shared for others.

But now, with what he heard about in regards to the events from the previous day, with how the young Kamiya leapt headfirst into danger, knowing full well that her Digimon partner was unable to Digivolve, all to save Davis and Veemon from captivity, and now, here with only Gatomon at her side as she returned before the rest of her friends, Gennai realized that there was more to the Digidestined of Light than he first believed.

"So, what brings you so early, and before the others?" The Digital Human then inquired as he looked upon Kari with a further curiosity.

Giving Kari time to give her reply, Gennai noticed how the Digidestined of Light looked at the tea cup within her hands with a sense of solemness, before she looked upon Gennai with a growing determination within her eyes.

"Gennai... I know you told us that our time protecting the Digital World is over, but... isn't there something more we can do now? Davis, Veemon and the others... they're in this fight alone, yet we can still enter and leave the Digital World, why? Why are we still here if we can't do anything?!" Kari inquired with a sense of distress within her voice, a sense of desperation filling her as needed to find some way, any way, to stand alongside Davis in the battles that were to come.

Raising an eyebrow upon hearing how the young Kamiya seemed focused upon the Digidestined of Miracles in her line of questioning, Gennai expelled a soft sigh as he thought on what he knew about the Digital World and what was coming to light now with the revelations of Millenniummon, his servants and the war of the past.

"I honestly don't have an answer for you. There are things about the Digital World that even I don't understand, events that were hidden from me by the Order, undoubtedly as a means to erase the knowledge of Millenniummon's evil in order to keep others from seeking him out. Yes, you, TK, Tai and the others shouldn't be able to return, but you can, and I don't know why." Gennai told Kari with an honest tone of voice, a frown forming upon his face as he saw the brunette deflate and clench her drink tightly.

As Gennai and Gatomon looked upon the Digidestined of Light with a soft concern, Kari did her best to hold back her tears, to not let herself drown in her doubts as she felt everything she was trying to do, to be able to be there for her best friend, crumbling around her, this leaving the Digidestined of Light feeling hollow inside.

However, as though sensing her distress and answering her prayers, Kari's eyes then widened, along with those of Gennai and Gatomon's when a loud beeping sound emanated from within Kari's pocket.

Quickly withdrawing her Digivice, Kari was astonished to see that, while it wasn't the same model as Davis' Digivice, a map with a pair of blinking dots appeared upon the screen, a map similar to the ones which led to Davis, Yolei and Cody's Digi-Eggs and Digimon partners.

Getting over the initial shock he first experienced, Gennai smiled a little as he told the Digidestined of Light. "It seems the Digital World isn't done with you just yet."

Controlling her breathing as not to let her emotions get the better of her, Kari clenched her Digivice as a bright smile spread itself along her face, the Digidestined of Light happy to the knowledge that there could be a way for her to be there for Davis and those she loved.

.

.

.

Not too long after Kari and Gatomon had arrived in the Digital World, Ogremon looked to his side as another flash of light appeared closeby Gennai's house, where the ogre Digimon saw TK and Patamon emerge from the light.

While the Digimon of Hope rested himself upon his partner's head, TK held a deep expression of concern as he looked around for any signs of Kari or Gatomon.

After finishing his gym practice for the day and knowing he still had time before he was to meet the others in the computer lab, TK found himself shocked when Patamon flew toward him, almost blowing his cover as the Digimon of Hope told his partner that Kari and Gatomon had already left for the Digital World, news that shocked the blond Digidestined greatly and lead to TK quickly changing and rushed his way to the computer lab himself.

Continuing to look around for any signs of the girls, TK then took notice of Ogremon, where he then saw the green skinned Digimon point in a direction that led away from Gennai's house and indicating which direction Kari and Gatomon had now taken.

Feeling his concerns for Kari only growing with how she had acted the day before, from her reckless attempts to save Davis, to her near breakdown at being unable to do anything to help the maroon haired Digidestined, TK knew he couldn't let Kari do whatever it is she was trying to do alone, not with Millenniummon's servants still out there, added to the fact Gatomon remained limited in how she could fight.

Knowing that Patamon was in the same position as Gatomon, TK knew that there was little he could do himself, and knowing that Davis would be worried, the Digidestined of Hope took out his cellphone and quickly sent a text message to the Digidestined of Miracles, before he and Patamon quickly took off after Kari and Gatomon themselves.

As the blond Digidestined rushed through the forest in search of his old friend, TK found himself oblivious to the fact that his own Digivice was now beeping within his pocket.

.

.

.

Back within the Real World, Davis, Yolei, Cody and their Digimon partners had met up within the computer lab.

Planning ahead for the day and learning just how hungry Poromon could get firsthand, Yolei had brought a lot of snacks from her family's convenience store for the small Digimon, an action Davis praised her for, much to the purple haired Digidestined's delight.

However and as time went on, Davis found his concerns growing as he began to wonder what kept Kari, TK, Gatomon and Patamon from attending.

As though answering his worries, Davis snapped out of his thoughts when he felt his cellphone vibrate, the indication causing the maroon haired Digidestined to withdraw his phone from his jacket pocket and to read the text message sent to him, which left him astonished by what he read.

"We need to go, now! Kari and the others are already within the Digital World!" Davis quickly said as he withdrew his Digivice, his concerned tone and his quick remark stunning the rest of the room's occupants, but the maroon haired boy found his concerns mainly focused on Kari.

And knowing his best friend as well as he believed he did, Davis knew exactly what Kari was trying to do, and if something happened to her, he would never forgive himself.

Meanwhile, sitting upon his throne with his head casually resting upon his right fist, the Demon Lord of Gluttony, Beelzemon, looked upon a small imp-like Digimon bowing before him, a dark smile gracing itself along the Demon Lord's face as a wicked idea quickly formed within his head.

"Magnamon and his little pets should be back soon. I want you and your... 'friends' to give them a good thrashing." Beelzemon said to his minion, who stood up and expressed an equally devious smile on their face.

"You've got it, Boss. We'll make them all suffer." The imp-like Digimon said with a small chuckle, one shared by a dozen others like him from the shadows, while an equal number of roars were heard as well, each of which brought more amusement to the Lord of Gluttony.

'Let's see you deal with this, little knight.' Beelzemon thought to himself as he looked forward to all the trouble his servants would give the Knight of Miracles.

Author's Note: Kari's desperation to help Davis might have gotten her and the others into a little bit of trouble, especially with Beelzemon still taking an interest in them, what will happen with the Digidestined of Light and of Hope? Stay tuned as the adventure continues.

PS: I know what I had said, but after seeing the praise and such this story has gotten, I have kind of shifted my focus back upon this one, and between life and the popularity of this idea, as much as I don't want to say it, but Destiny's Salvation is on Hiatus for now.

In fact, with life and all, this story, Knight of Miracles, might end up being my last story I post here. If so, I promise to give it my best to make this one you'll all enjoy.

For now, I hope you all enjoy this chapter, look forward to the next and I'll see you all in the new year.
