"Princess of Kareoke"
Please enjoy and review!
Using the swan boat that Matt had originally found, Tai and the rest of his group boarded it and took it across the water to follow the signal their got on their Digivices.
While Tai and Joe were pedaling the boat, Daisuke was sitting on top of the roof with Veemon in her lap and Agumon beside her.
As for Gomamon, he was perching on the front of the boat and his lower half was submerged in the water.
During the ride, Daisuke was trying to find a way to fix her hair since there were knots in it and her hair was becoming difficult to deal with.
"Hey, what's wrong you guys? Can't you make this bucket go any faster?" Agumon chuckled.
"What are you doing to help?" Joe panted as he and Tai paddled the boat.
"Watching for icebergs." Agumon answered.
"Really? I was just taking a nap." Veemon muttered as he gave a yawn.
"We'd gladly trade places with you, but..." Gomamon tailed off.
"Unfortunately, our little legs won't reach the pedals." Agumon, Veemon and Gomamon said smugly as they then laughed.
"Hey, we could go faster if we threw you off." Tai snapped.
"You wouldn't!" Agumon protested.
"It's tempting." Tai grumbled.
"Better not." Gomamon muttered.
"You try it and I'll shave that stupid bush off your head!" Daisuke called down to the child of Courage.
Although, he wasn't really that courageous when a girl was upset with him.
Noticing Tai backing down, Veemon snickered when he then caught sight of something from the edge of his vision.
Turning his head, he saw the island before them and grinned.
"Land ho! That's what sailors say when they see land, right?" Veemon asked.
Pulling the boat up onto the shore, the group all started walking around the island as they searched for Mimi, following her signal on the Digivice.
To their surprise, there was a cliff above the beach and settled on top of the cliff was a large, magnificent palace.
"Wow, that palace is huge." Joe gasped.
"And way up there. As if my legs weren't tired enough already. But there's no doubt about it. That is Mimi, so up we go." Tai said as he checked his Digivice and saw the red dot beeping.
"This is gonna be a long hike." Daisuke sighed before the group started their climb.
She could already imagine how badly her thighs were going to feel after the climb and she knew that the rest of her friends were also wary about it.
Nearly a half hour later, the tired group finally made their way to the castle's front steps and walked up to the door, pushing it open to glance inside.
When they poked her heads in to see who owned the castle, Daisuke and Veemon both gaped when they recognized the two different Digimon who were running around in a fuss.
The green frogs with the golden tubas around their necks were the Geckomon and the purple tadpoles were the Otamamon.
"All right, you know the drill." One of the Geckomon yelled.
"What are you talking about? Get out of my way!" A second Geckomon yelled.
"Is this a palace or some kind of a Looney bin?" Tai asked in disbelief as he pushed the door open further.
"It seems like it's both." Joe commented.
"Her highness is getting angry!" A Geckomon cried as he ran by.
"Oh, these are Gekomon? I've heard of them. They really love music, not surprising since they're born with those horns." Gomamon said.
"Hurry before she blows her top!" One of the purple tadpoles cried as he ran by on his four short legs.
"And I've heard of the other Digimon. They're called Otamamon." Agumon spoke up.
Turning his attention back onto Daisuke, Veemon tugged on her wrist to make her bend down so he could speak with her.
"Do you think these are the same Geckomon and Otamamon who Mimi became friends with?" Veemon whispered to her.
"I don't know, but we did pick up her signal here. It makes the most sense." Daisuke whispered back.
She was mostly worried over the fact that they might be attacked by the cranky Shogunmon.
That was one tone deaf Digimon she did not want to see again.
"Hurry, hurry!" Gekomon yelled.
"Um, excuse me?" Gomamon spoke up making the frog stop.
The three humans and their Digimon then walked inside of the castle to speak with Gekomon to get some answers.
"Can you help us? We're looking for someone." Gomamon said.
"'Bout time you got here. Where's the triple hot fudge sundae we ordered for delivery to the princess?" Gekomon said.
"That's not us." The group told him.
"Then you must be delivering her bacon chili cheese burger with fries and a supersized milkshake." A second Gekomon spoke making everyone look at him.
"That's not us either." The group of six denied.
"Of course not. They're delivering the garden fresh salad with low fat dressing without dessert." A third Gekomon said as he walked over.
"We'd like to ask a question if you don't mind." The Digidestineds and their Digimon said.
"Her highness asked for a fudge sundae!" The first Gekomon yelled.
"No, she wants a bacon chili cheese burger!" The second Gekomon called back.
"She said she wanted a green salad!" The third Gekomon interjected.
"All this ordering is making me hungry." Daisuke groaned as she placed a hand on her empty stomach.
"Me too!" Veemon whimpered.
"Excuse me; have you seen a girl in a hat?" Tai asked as he held his hands up in a peaceful gesture.
"We're ordering lunch here!" An Otamamon yelled rudely making the Digidestineds turn to look down at him.
"Well, then I'll have a burger." Joe said.
"All the princess really cares about is that polka dot party dress she ordered." Otamamon told them as a second one then crawled over.
"Old news! Now she wants pink leather pants with matching boots and accessories." The second Otamamon informed.
"No one told me that!" The first Otamamon said.
"Get with the program!" The second Otamamon scoffed.
Arguments then broke out between the group of Digimon while the Digidestineds and their partners all watched in confusion and shock over the mess that they had stumbled upon.
"It sounds to me that this princess of theirs is extremely picky." Joe commented.
"She sounds kind of spoiled if you ask me." Tai grinned.
"Oh, my goodness. It really is her." Daisuke muttered as she placed a hand over her face.
"I wonder what happens if they don't do as she says." Agumon mused.
"Here she comes!" Everyone yelled as they then rushed off.
"Presenting her Highness, the princess!" Gekomon1 called.
Everyone stared at the staircase as they waited for the princess to walk out of the hall to reveal herself.
"Cool, we're gonna get to meet the princess." Tai grinned.
Just then, a strawberry blonde stepped out onto the top of the stairs wearing a poofy white and pink dress with a gold crown resting on top of her head.
"It's Mimi!" Tai and Joe gasped.
"Oh, bummer. What a surprise." Mimi commented as she looked over her friends.
"You're telling me. What are you doing up there?" Tai asked.
"What do you think? I'm being a princess of course." Mimi said as she fanned herself with the pink fur lined fan in her hands.
"So you're the spoiled princess we've been hearing about." Agumon said.
"We should've known it was Mimi." The boys all said together.
"Don't call me Mimi anymore! That's princess now!" Mimi scowled as she crossed her arms.
"Uh huh. Whatever. Hey, princess, you got a shower I can use? My hair is in desperate need of repair." Daisuke said as she walked up the staircase.
"What?" Tai exclaimed as he stared at the girl in shock.
"Daisuke happens to be very vain when it comes to her hair." Veemon told him.
That made Tai glance down at the dragon with a shocked expression, unable to believe that the little girl he used to know actually cared about her looks.
This was the same girl who played in sand boxes and would play soccer in the rain, not caring that her clothing got all muddy.
"Since when?" Tai demanded.
"Since always." Veemon said.
"Well, I suppose you could use my shower. Come on, I'll show you where it is." Mimi sighed as she turned.
"Do you also have any good conditioner? My ends are completely dry and wrecked." Daisuke frowned as she played with her hair.
Tai looked very annoyed and like he was about to throw a tantrum, but was stopped by Veemon who placed a hand on his arm.
"Calm down. It'll only take her, like, ten minutes to take a shower. Besides, considering all the time we wasted on you lounging around and eating, it won't kill you to spare some time for her." Veemon crossed his arms as he scolded the boy.
Pouting, Tai simply crossed his arms while Gomamon and Agumon snickered and Joe sighed.
(Later...)
Just as Veemon had predicted, it had taken Daisuke only ten minutes to take a shower and she had gathered with the others in Mimi's 'royal bed chambers' to talk.
Sitting down on a chair, Daisuke was brushing through her hair and used a blue ribbon she found to tie the long locks of mahogany up into a ponytail.
"Well, the important thing is that you're all right." Joe said to Mimi.
"That's for sure. Well, come on, let's get a move on." Tai told her.
"No way!" Mimi refused.
"Right. You wanna change first. We'll wait." Joe said.
"For what? I'm keeping this dress on." Mimi stated.
"And it's beautiful, but it's not the best thing to walk long distances." Agumon tried to reason.
"Walking? I have no intention of walking anywhere." The child of Sincerity said.
"Are you expecting us to carry you out of here, Your Majesty?" Joe asked sarcastically.
"No, I'm not going." She declared.
"Huh?" The boys all gasped.
"What do you mean, Mimi?" Daisuke narrowed her eyes.
"Why would I leave? I am a princess here. Besides, who knows if we'll ever find our way home, so I might as well live large and in charge." Mimi said.
"You've got to be kidding." Joe deadpanned.
"No. take a look around, I've got a nice bed, pretty clothes, food. It's like having a birthday every day. I am a princess. And you want me to give this up? I don't think so." Mimi smirked.
Glaring at the younger girl, Daisuke stood up and placed her hands on her hips and this made Veemon worry that his partner was going to throttle Mimi for her attitude.
"Is there something wrong?" A female voice questioned.
"Another servant?" Agumon asked.
"No, it's Palmon." Gomamon said as they all turned to the door.
"Finally, a voice of reason. Palmon come talk some sense into Mimi." Joe requested.
Palmon then poked her head in the room and revealed that she was wearing a pink gown which was very similar to the one her partner was wearing.
"As in princess?" Palmon asked.
The males all fell to the floor in disbelief at the sight while Mimi grinned smugly.
"You look in pink." Veemon commented.
"Oh, thank you." Palmon blushed.
That made Daisuke roll her eyes.
"Oh no! Not you too!" Joe yelled.
"Okay, that's enough. This is no time for playing games. Both of you change out of those dumb clothes and let's get out of here." Tai exclaimed in anger.
"I am not playing a game, Tai! I'm staying! You can go anytime. Why don't you guys go look for the others? Be gone from my palace!" Mimi yelled.
Her words shocked everyone as they stared at the normally sweet girl who was evolving into a selfish, stuck up brat.
"Wait, Mimi. Don't be mean. They're our friends." Palmon said.
"If you wanna go, be my guest!" Mimi yelled at her.
"You are comin' with us! Get down off that high horse of yours and shift that rear into high gear." Tai yelled.
"Yeah, come on. Why do you think we almost killed ourselves trying to find you? Because you are part of the team." Joe said trying to reason with her.
Huffing childishly, Mimi turned up her nose at the group as she crossed her arms and moved her body away from them.
"That's very nice, but I am not going." She said.
"That's it! Mimi, like it or not, Joe's right. We've gotta stick together, so I'm not budging from this spot until you come to your senses and leave with us." Tai said as he sat down cross legged.
"Yeah." Agumon said doing the same.
"Right." Gomamon did the same.
Looking at her friends with a cold look in her usually warm eyes, Mimi sneered at them.
"Really? You all keep forgetting who's in charge around here." Mimi sneered as she picked up a bell and rang it.
In a millisecond, a swarm of Gekomon were there.
"Your Highness, what is it that you desire?" one of them asked.
"I desire these rude and bothersome peasants to be removed from my bedroom at once." She ordered.
"Peasants? You've got to be kidding me." Daisuke glared.
"Yes princess!" Gekomon1 cried.
"No! No way!" Daisuke pushed her way through the Gekomon.
"This'll be good." Gomamon muttered.
"Let's get something straight here, Mimi. I've been putting up with your stuck up, arrogant and selfish attitude for months now and I'm sick of it. Now, you are going to get out of that ugly, tacky dress and come with us so we can find our friends. And if you don't come willingly, then I will throw you over my shoulder and carry you out." Daisuke threatened.
Everyone was silent at that, unsure of what to do or say.
The boys were mostly worried that Daisuke would get violent with Mimi and that the spoiled princess would do something stupid to anger the redhead even more than she already was.
Much to everyone's shock, Mimi slapped Daisuke across the face.
"Get out! Get out right now and don't ever come back!" Mimi yelled.
Everyone was silent, unsure of what to do or how to react.
Taking a deep breath and remaining calm, Daisuke then gave a forced grin, her eyes shining with a wicked light.
"As you wish, princess." She said.
Turning on her heel, Daisuke's long hair moved with her and whipped Mimi's in the face.
Frightened by the cold look the child of Miracles had on her face, the boys all quickly chased after her, not wanting to find out how she would react if they didn't follow her.
"If that's the way you treat your guests, we're never coming back." Gomamon spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Now what are we gonna do? She's totally into this digi-fairy tale." Joe said.
"I wonder what she could've done to get them to wait on her hand and foot like this." Tai said.
"You really wanna know?" Gekomon1 asked.
Surprised, everyone turned to see him and the other Gekomon were staring at the Digidestineds sadly.
"What are you talking about? Why is Mimi this way?" Daisuke asked.
Gathering together, the Gekomon and Otamamon started leading the group to a different part of the castle to show them the reason for Mimi's sudden transformation.
"You're not taking us to an evil digimon are you?" Joe asked nervously.
"Uh uh." Gekomon2 denied.
"What if Mimi catches us?" Tai asked.
"She won't." Gekomon3 assured.
"Here's our master, Lord Shogunmon." Gekomon1 said.
As they walked inside of the large room, everyone stared at the stage in front of them that had a giant red and yellow frog who was sleeping with his back to the crowd.
A tuba was wrapped around his neck just like the Gekomon and he had a strange antena attached to his head that was hanging behind him.
"Whoa, somebody's had a few too many donuts!" the child of Courage gasped.
"Is it a statue or what?" Joe asked.
"No, it's not a statue. He's very much alive." Gekomon2 said.
"Huh?" The Digidestineds asked.
"He may be alive, but he's not lively, is he?" Agumon commented.
"He's sleeping." Otamamon1 said.
"He's been this way for over three hundred years. You see, Lord Shogunmon was proud of his voice and entering contests, but he lost. He felt so bad that he fell into a deep sleep, from which he never recovered. It's said only a voice as beautiful as the one that beat him can wake him. For centuries we tried, but every song's failed." Gekomon1 explained.
"We Gekomon love music, but unfortunately, none of us has a voice that would be considered beautiful." Gekomon3 said.
"Then we got a break. A strange little Digimon spoke of a girl with a pretty voice. He told us where to find her and we did." Otamamon1 explained.
"Let me guess. This strange little Digimon was round and blue with creepy yellow eyes, right?" Veemon huffed.
"Yeah, how did you know?" Otamamon3 asked.
"Wild guess." Daisuke muttered.
"When she started singing, our Lord began to wake up but then she forgot the words. We then started giving her food, clothing and even decorated the palace to make her happy." Otamamon3 spoke up.
"We got her everything she wanted, but then she got sleepy and wouldn't do it! And that's the way it's been. One excuse after another." Otamamon2 exclaimed.
"We've done all she's wanted. We even redecorated the entire palace for her. I used to like pink, but now I can't stand to look at it." Gekomon2 said.
"That's awful!" Veemon frowned.
"And when one of us complains to her, 'Whoa, be careful. You wouldn't want me to lose my voice now, would ya?' she would say." Otamamon2 said with tears.
"We're in a terrible position, you see? We're totally helpless." Otatamon1 cried.
"Unfortunately, you've given Mimi the life she's been accustomed to and then some." Joe said.
This was a true fact.
Mimi was her father's only daughter and because of this, she got whatever she wanted no matter what.
She wasn't used to people telling her no and she didn't become more caring and selfless towards others until after her time in the Digital World was over.
"Well, since you're friends of her's…" Gekomon2 trailed off.
"Could you reason with her please? We'd be so eternally grateful." Otamamon1 begged.
"I don't think she knows what 'reason' is." Agumon said.
"Just leave it to me, guys. I've got it." Tai smiled.
This made everyone turn to him in confusion.
"I knew it! I knew you'd come through!" Gekomon1 said hopefully.
"Yay!" the Otamamon cheered.
"What are you thinking, Tai?" he child of Reliability asked.
"Who says you need Mimi to wake up jumbo?" Tai asked as he grabbed a mike.
"Crank it up and let me take a shot!" he said.
"YOU?!" Everyone exclaimed in disbelief.
Daisuke snorted as she then started laughing along with the others which made Tai pout at them.
"What cha laughing at?" he asked.
Getting into place, Tai went onto stage as the Gekomon started the music and the disco ball as everyone waited for the child of Courage to start singing.
When he opened his mouth and the sound came out, everyone covered their ears at the tone deaf boy.
"I'm gonna sing a song
A song that will wake you up
I'm belt it out
Shogunmon I's time to get UUUUPPP!" he sang.
"Hey! Wake up!" Tai called as he stared up at Shogungekomon.
"Hey, let me give it a shot." Joe smiled as he walked onto stage and grabbed the microphone.
"I'm attempting to sing a song
A song that will awaken you
And aid all of the Gekomon
That are loyal to your world view
And of you being in charge." He sang.
Tai, Daisuke and the digimon were shaking their heads at the song being sang by the boy.
"I'm attempting to sing a song
A song that will awaken you and aid all of the Gekomon…"
After Joe was shot down, he walked back over to the rest of the crowd while Gomamon and Agumon climbed up onto the stage to sing which was much worst for everyone.
"I bring this song to you
A tune right now until Juuuune
When you hear us sing
You'll call us singing bafoooons
We just wanna wake ya so don't close your eaaaaars." Agumon sang as Gomamon vacalized.
Pouting when they realized the lord wasn't waking up, the two Rookies stopped while the music and disco lights were shut off.
"It's no use." Joe sighed.
"After that, he might not wake up for another 300 years." Tai said.
"Daisuke, are you going to try next?" Veemon asked.
"I'll give it a try, but I'm not going to do the same song. Mostly because I have no idea what the lyrics are." Daisuke sighed.
"Yay!" Veemon cheered.
Walking up onto the stage, Daisuke picked up the microphone and watched as Veemon made his way over to the juke box and turned on a song that she knew.
"Oh, so she can sing now, too?" Tai questioned.
"Daisuke's grown up, Tai. She's not the same little girl you used to know. Get over it." Veemon told him.
"There's a place I know
It's always jumping
I'm thinking we should go and leave our worries
You got a friend in need
And I'll tell you something
This time could be extraordinary." Daisuke sang.
The Digimon all seemed to be enjoying it as they swayed to the music, liking the beat.
"Wow, who knew Daisuke could sing?" Joe grinned.
"I did!" Veemon chirped.
That earned him a bump on the head from an annoyed Tai.
"When shadows fall you're feeling small
It looks like walls are closing in
Don't be afraid the dark will fade
Just take my hand and look again
This side of paradise is where I want to be
This side of paradise for you and me
This side of paradise what you get is what you'll see
And I never thought I'd see a place this nice
This side of paradise." She sang.
Finished with her song, Daisuke blushed as she heard the Gekomon and Otamamon applaud her, but she was slightly disappointed to see that Shogunmon was still sleeping.
Then again, maybe it was a good thing.
If Shogunmon woke up, then he would be in a nasty mood.
"Well, that didn't work." Daisuke shrugged.
"It was a good try." Agumon said.
"Hey guys!" Someone called making everyone turn to see Palmon walking into the room.
"Palmon." Tai greeted.
"Why did you all disappear like that? It was like you weren't even happy to see us." She said.
"What are you talking about? In case you hadn't noticed, Mimi's gone nuts." Agumon exclaimed.
"Yeah? Hmm. Hmm. Now that I think of it, she has kind of gone off the deep end. Even for her." Palmon said thoughtfully.
"Oh, well, you noticed?" Tai asked sarcastically.
"You're so observant." Gomamon quipped weakly.
She just giggled and placed a hand on her head shyly.
(Later...)
Coming up with a plan, the group carried a voice recording machine up onto Mimi's balcony as they hid while Palmon stood in the room with a juke box.
"So she'll be performing and won't even know it." Joe said after the plan was explained.
"Yeah and we'll get the whole thing on tape." Tai smiled with earphones on.
"Watch it!" Gomamon gasped when he saw her opening the door to the room as everyone ducked down to hide.
"What's this?" Mimi asked as she walked into the room.
"It's a karaoke set." Palmon said.
"Yes, I can see that. But what's it doing in my royal chambers?" Mimi asked.
"I just love hearing you sing. I thought you might give us a private concert. Here." Palmon laughed nervously.
Mimi smiled as she accepted the microphone much to Palmon's relief.
"Thanks, you're the greatest." Palmon said as she switched on the machine.
"Now, feel the music." Palmon said as the music played and Mimi bopped to the beat.
"Tai, is she falling for it?" Joe asked.
"Mm-hmm." Tai hummed with a smirk.
"Huh? What's that cord for? I see..." Mimi trailed off as she spotted Gomamon's tail by the door and Tai's hair in the window.
Taking a deep breath, she then screamed into the microphone which made the others yell in shock and it was worst for Tai who had been wearing the earphones.
Later on, Mimi had Palmon stripped of the gown and threw everyone into the dungeon which the Gekomon and Otamamon were sad to do.
"So, you though you could pull a fast one on Princess Mimi, did you?" Mimi taunted as she stood in front of the cell.
"That's 'Princess Meany'!" Tai snipped.
"Yeah." Agumon glared.
"Who do you think you are, anyway? Don't you remember we're your friends?" Joe asked.
"I remember you tried to trick me." She said.
"We tried to trick you because we're trying to save you. Have you completely forgotten about the Crest of Sincerity?" Tai asked.
"Have you forgotten it's not nice to lock people up in a dungeon? Where's your manners?" Agumon asked.
Mimi scoffed as she turned away and started walking.
"Wait!" Tai called.
"Uh, before you go, I have something I want to tell you." Palmon said making her pause and frown down at her.
"Nobody likes you more than I do. It hurts me deeply to have to say this, but…you're a SPOILED BRAT!" Palmon yelled with tears falling.
Mimi's eyes grew wide at that as she then grew angered as she stared at the ground for a few seconds.
"Is that fact? Well, it's nice to know how you really feel!" she yelled before she walked away with a huff and Palmon sagged over in sadness.
Walking up to the plant hybrid Digimon, Veemon placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
(Early in the morning...)
"All right, wake up!" Gekomon yelled as the cell door was opened.
The loud noise rose the group from their sleep as they slowly and tiredly got up, no one happy at being disturbed early in the morning.
"What now?" Tai asked.
"The princess wants you." Gekomon said.
Leading the Digidestineds and their partners out of the dungeon, the Gekomon and Otamamon led them to the room that Shogunmon was located.
"Is she gonna chop off our heads?" Tai asked.
"Don't even joke." Joe scolded.
"Yeah, for all we know, she actually could be up for that." Daisuke muttered.
Walking into the building where the stage was located, the group found Mimi dressed in her regular clothing was standing up on the stage, the microphone in front of her.
"What's she up to?" The boys asked.
"First of all, there's something I have to say to everyone here. Tai, Joe and Daisuke. Agumon, Gomamon and V-mon. Palmon. All of you have been so nice. I'm sorry!" she cried bowing making everyone gasp.
It sounded like Mimi had some kind of revelation on the way she was behaving.
"I've been such a little idiot! If you can find it in your hearts to forgive me, and I don't know why you would, but if you can, then I'd be honored to sing for you…one more time." She said lifting her head up to shown tears falling from her brown eyes and her face was red from crying.
That's the Mimi they all know and love.
"We forgive you." Palmon said as we all smiled at her.
"Of course we do. Sing, Your Highness." Gekomon1 said as we all started shouting our encouragements to her to sing.
"Oh, thank you." She sniffled with a smile as she dried her eyes.
"Hit the lights and cue the music!" Palmon said.
The room was darkas the music started up, then as it got faster and louder, a spot light shone down on Mimi.
"I wanna sing a song
A song to bring Shogunmon around
When he hears my voice
I hope he likes the sound
He has to listen
Listen to my sincere heart." She sang as Shogunmon started moving.
Seeing their leader beginning to wake up, the Gekomon and Otamamon smiled happily as their jaws dropped into wide smiles.
"I learned that friends are friends even when they're apart." She snag as the boys started dancing.
"I've asked my friends to forgive me from the bottom of my heart
If it's my choice
His eyes would open wide
And the Gekomon will be cheering
Cheering with pride-"Mimi stopped when Shogunmon started moving.
He stood up and turned around, the ground shaking as he did so and it made the duo of Miracles feel nervous.
"Don't panic! It's our lord and master Shogunmon. Finally restored to us after many centuries." Gekomon3 said.
"I was having such a nice sleep. Which one of you clowns woke me up. Or should I just squish all of ya?" Shogunmon threatened with a nasty look as stepped down.
"Women and gentlemon first!" a random Gekomon cried as we all ran out of the building as the giant frog went on a rampage.
Remind me again why we wanted to wake him up?
"And I thought…I was cranky when I first wake up!" Joe panted.
"Give me the mean Mimi back any day!" Gomamon yelled.
"Whose idea was this? Remind me never to listen to them again!" Gekomon1 yelled.
"You wanna hear some singing?!" Shogunmon demanded.
"The ground will shake
When you hear the noise I make
'Cause I'm glad to be awake
YEAH!" he sang, and then his horns blasted out air that blew everyone away.
Crying out, everyone was sent crashing through the wall of the palace, falling down into the water.
"I really hate that big, stupid toad!" Daisuke growled.
"Is everyone safe?" Tai asked as he glanced around the group.
"Yeah." Everyone answered.
"Then let's go help Mimi!" He said.
Gomamon digivolve too…IKKAKUMON!"
"Agumon digivolve too…GREYMON!"
"Veemon digivolve too…EXVEEMON!"
Getting out of the water, the group made their way over to the palace and found Togemon was ready to face off against Shogunmon to protect Mimi from him.
Ikkakumon fired off his Harpoon Torpedo and stopped Shogunmon from attacking the girls.
"Oh, have you come to play?" Shogunmon taunted.
Ikkakumon and Greymon blasted their attacks to Shogunmon, but he started singing again and blew his horns, canceling out the attacks and sending the two back on their backs.
"Did you see that?" Tai asked.
"Yeah, he gives new meaning to the term 'flat note'." Joe said.
"Watch out below!" Shogunmon called as he jumped down to come after the kids, but then Tai's Crest and digivice glowed orange.
"Greymon digivolve too…METALGREYMON!"
MetalGreymon stood over us and head butted the big frog away from us, ExVeemonon flying in from behind him and kicking him into the damaged building as Togemon jumped out with Mimi in her arms.
Being let down, Mimi rushed over to where Daisuke was standing and almost threw herself into the older girl's arms.
"Oh, Daisuke, I'm so sorry about what I said and did before!" She cried.
"Don't worry about it, Mimi. I have a hard time staying mad at my friends." Daisuke comforted.
"Yeah, give it to him, MetalGreymon!" Tai called.
The Ultimate used his Giga Blasters, firing them off to Shogunmon's horns and then an explosion was caused by it, burying him in the rubble.
The sun soon came up as the Digimon went back to their Rookie forms and the kids went to go check out the damage.
"He deserved to hear that last flat note, don't you think?" Mimi asked with a frown as everyone laughed and she then smiled and laughed with them.
"Well, ready to go, Mimi?" Tai asked.
"Yeah. Do you think I could take some of my princess clothes with me?" she asked.
"Mimi!" Tai said in exasperation.
"Well, it just seems such a waste. The jewels at least?" she begged.
"Sure, why not? Let's go rob the guy who tried to kill us. Seems fair." Daisuke shrugged.
That made Veemon snicker, knowing his partner was half serious.
To be continued...
