Kim stood in the doorway of their bedroom, glad that Tommy hadn't taken her here first when she got home. Instead, she had played with their youngest children and Opal had carefully styled her hair in a nearly identical fashion to Tommy's. It was obvious to her that she must have just learned how to do this skill and was repeating it over and over. Sean had quickly warmed up to her as she showed interest in the game that he was making up on the fly. For their children not knowing about them being rangers, Sean was certainly obsessed with all things karate and fighting. Did Tommy still do karate? She brought herself back to the present as Tommy moved around their bedroom, getting ready for the night on autopilot. He stripped off his shirt and she couldn't stop the audible gasp.

Tommy had changed. She knew he had changed from what she had seen of him clothed, but the tattoos and scars surprised her. Even if he had gotten out, it had not been before it left him with permanent scars. She studied him, vaguely aware that he was moving towards her. When his hands gently brushed her arms she jumped and looked up at him. She felt the blush creep up her neck and into her cheeks. She hadn't checked him out so blatantly since she first saw him. She wasn't even sure how she looked at him now, but she doubted it was anything like this.

"You okay?" Tommy asked as she reached out for his chest and quickly pulled her hand back. How did she touch him now? She had cuddled into him last night, but that was different. This felt so much more real than yesterday, so much more intimate and she was not ready for intimate with him right now. "You can touch me anywhere you want."

"I…where…what's the story of all of these?" Kim asked as she still held her hands to herself and he motioned for her to come in. He silently closed the door behind her and the panic immediately set in. "I…I need…please don't shut the door."

"What are you thinking?" Tommy asked and thoughts streamed through her head. Her mother screaming at her when she found them in her bedroom one night. Being alone with him a few weeks ago and getting pregnant with Ollie. Being closed in a ship where Tommy was obviously mad at her, but also desperately trying to make sure she was okay. "Kim, c'mon- talk to me."

"What's the ship? Where you were so mad at me and…" Kim trailed off and she watched some recognition cross his face.

"You and Jason were captured as bait so that we would give over some beings we were protecting to save you. I wasn't mad at you, I was mad that we didn't get there in time to keep you from turning evil, to keep you from having one more bad memory," Tommy whispered as he sat down at the foot of their bed and she watched him warily. She believed what he said, but she didn't know how to be the woman that he spent every night with. "Do you want me to take the couch?"

"No. No. You don't have to do that for me…" Kim stammered as her voice got progressively higher and he just smiled at her as he pulled on his shorts and started to head out of the room. "Tommy, no. Really, I'll be fine."

"Fuck yes rule," Tommy said as he stopped next to her and she stared at him. What in the world was he talking about? "I know that you don't know what that means right now, but it's one of the things that we rebuilt on and this isn't important enough for us to figure this out tonight. I'm going to take the couch. Is there anything you need before I do?"

"I…where's my stuff?" Kim asked and he walked her over to the other closet. She froze in the doorway and he slipped past her to find her pajamas. He dug through the dresser and he pulled out a nightgown and a pajama set. She glanced at the shirt he was holding in his other hand and twisted her shirt as she knew that was what she really wanted. "Can I…can I just have your shirt?"

"Yeah," Tommy placed his shirt in her hands and he then gently guided her back into the bedroom. "Our bathroom is over there and I'm going to be in the living room if you need me."

"I…Tommy…I'm sorry," Kim whispered and he stopped just as he went to open the door. "I'm sorry that I'm this nervous around you again, I can tell that we were so comfortable with each other and…"

"We'll get there again. Plus we have a really comfy couch because it's easier to sleep with a sick kid out there than in here," Tommy joked and she looked up to see the smile on his face. He walked back over to her and gently took her hand in his. "Don't push it. Don't force it. Remember- fuck yes or it's a no go."

"Fuck yes or it's a no go."

"Everyone down?" Tommy asked as his parents sank into the recliners and nodded. "Mom, Dad- thank you."

"How are you?" Allen asked as he motioned to the extra pillows and blankets Tommy had settled on the couch. "You're sleeping out here?"

"She's not comfortable with…she asked…yeah, I'm on the couch for now," Tommy forced out as he felt himself breaking. He felt himself crumbling as the weight of continuing to do this alone. Even though he had help, even though he had family and friends that were there for him- he was alone. He was without his wife for the first time ever and it was breaking him.

"Oh Tommy," Janice whispered as she sat down next to him and he slumped into her. "What…what can we…what else…"

"I don't know. It's never been like this and I think we've eliminated everything that could come after her, but this makes no sense. Every medical…every test that they did…she should have her memories. And what if…what if someone else…what if Hayley has allies? What if there are others that helped, that are still- that could come after her again? I can't do life without her. I need her," Tommy rambled as sobs ripped through him and he hoped that he was quiet enough to not wake his children or his wife. He had held it together for nearly six weeks and he thought the finish line had been within reach. Now, he had to continue to hold it together for an undetermined amount of time and that was breaking him.

"You could find out those answers," Allen suggested as Tommy just shook his head. "Why not?"

"I don't have…I'd kill her and that would change everything," Tommy forced out as Janice pulled away from him and he let out a sigh. HIs parents hadn't known what he had considered for options over the last several weeks and he knew it must frighten them to hear that death had been on the table. "It was what we thought was going to happen until Andros brought us another option. I'm comfortable with killing, but this would…this could be different."

"You've also interrogated people before and not killed them," Allen said and Tommy just looked at him. "She centered you."

"Yeah. And she pulled me back. And she kept me from…she knew exactly how far to let me dig and how far I could go and I would snap out of it safely. I don't know those limits and none of the others would stop me. They're as pissed as I am," Tommy explained as he tried to pull himself out of that tailspin. "I can't tell any of them this. I can't tell her this. I shouldn't tell you this, but I…I can't keep anymore of it in."

"We know," Janice said as Tommy let out a shaky breath as he put his head in his hands and tried to pull himself back together. "No. You can pull yourself back together in the morning. Tonight, Thomas, you get to feel how shitty the last few months have been. You get to feel. Let yourself feel."
