Here are my thoughts on the new Just Dance Plus maps that got added today starting with.
MURDER ON THE DANCE FLOOR BY SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR
We all knew this song was going to added because it recently exploded in popularity due to TikTok and it being in the film Salt Burn I really liked the live action sequence at the beginning and it's cool that Night Swan or Leda as she was originally known as was friends with The Traveller ( the coach from Rock Your Body and Save Your Tears ) I'm guessing this was how Night Swan became evil although they don't even show it at the end overall this map is amazing I give it a 9/10 I'm hoping if we get more Sophie Ellis Bextor songs in Just Dance I hope they add Heartbreak ( Make Me A Dancer ) next.
DARKEST HOUR BY THE RISING SWAN
Oh boy where do I begin? Now yes I'm still mad this replaced Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This but this song is actually really good and the routine they filmed for the original map does fit it well the only problem is that in the original the coach lip syncs to the song and because they replaced the audio what do they do? They censored the couch's mouth to hide it although you can still it what the hell Ubisoft? Bottom line I don't hate this song for an original one for the game it's a pretty good I give this one an 8/10 I would have given it a nine if they kept the original song but this new version is okay and also fun fact this isn't the first time they replaced the audio for a map in Just Dance 2014 the song Nitro Bot was originally going to be Robot Rock by Daft Punk however it appears there was some problems with the licensing so they made a original song and put it over the map instead just like what happened here also please don't scrap Lose Yourself and Whine Up I want them so bad.
Overall I thought this mini event was pretty good it's awesome we got more lore about Night Swan and what she did before she became evil and I'm wondering if the August event will be about Jack Rose if it is maybe we'll finally get Lose Yourself that is unless there saving it for Just Dance 2025? Anyways I give this event an 8/10 just to recap the event will end on June 6th and the next season will be followed soon after I'm hoping it's themed around the Olympics because that would be cool.
