So last night we got the official reveal for Mortal Kombat 1 Reigns the expanded version of MK1 coming September 24th one day before my birthday we got the following things revealed a new story expansion the return of Animalities and most importantly the KP2 which is what I'm talking about today and giving my thoughts on it so let's begin.
Sektor and Cyrax
Okay so let's get the elephant in the room out of the way first and talk about Cyrax and Sektor our favourite cyborgs are coming back but with a twist they are now girls now to be fair this is a reboot and a new timeline so this is what we have to accept at least there designs look sick I like how their helmets can retract to show their faces like Iron Man I'm wondering if they will have black blood since their still cyborgs? Overall I'm okay with the change their doing to our favourite cyborg duo and their the two I'm most excited about when the DLC launched also we finally have female DLC characters now.
Noob Saibot
As for Noob Saibot I think his design looks cool but we know he was coming back at some point since he was found in the files since day one and also now that he's in the game all the classic ninjas are in the game at once for the first time since MK9 now lets move on to the guest characters.
Ghostface
We know it was happening especially after that audio leak of Mileena saying his name I'm really hyped for Ghostface he's probably going to be main for the KP2 and even better Roger Jackson is doing the voice for him which is great since he is Ghostface and also we finally have our first horror guest characters since MKX I know some people may have wanted Michael Myers but Ghostface is still a great pick motherless also is it just me or does he look a bit skinny in the trailer?
T-1000
When we first heard the possible of this guy being in the game I thought that's kinda a weird choice but looking at him now he would be interesting especially with him using the metal arms and shapeshifting and all that and it was confirmed that Robert Patrick is doing the voice for the T-1000 which is great but I'm still curious on how fatalities will work on him since he just made of metal liquid.
Conan
For the final guest character this is kind of another weird choice I mean Conan The Barbarian does fit for MK but I feel like this and T-1000 might be the strangest choices for a guest character they've ever chosen but still cool choices nonetheless also I seems like Arnold will again not be doing the voice despite having his likeness since they didn't say if the Arnold is voicing him or not I think it might be Chris Cox again since he voiced The Terminator in MK11 but hopefully he does a better job this time around if he is voicing Conan.
Overall I think the KP2 is great if not the same level of greatness as the first one although most people won't be happy about Cyrax and Sektor being females now but at least they look great and they didn't say anything about new Kameo fighters for some reason maybe there saving that for later as for the release dates well they said the MK characters will be available all at once at launch while the guest characters will be released at later dates I don't know if it will be the same time as the Invasions seasons if there still going after this pack releases since season 8 is supposed to be themed around Liu Kang or will they release one after the other in the months after September or will they release all at once after season 8 ends we don't know yet but hopefully there will show more info as Gamescom next month anyways DP994 what are your thoughts on the KP2 and good luck with that story today.
