Chapter 38 – Lespax's Third Wave

Just like the last two times, the sky above them was red with swirls and cracks in reality.

"There!" Maria called out. It wasn't the largest crack—thus the most likely place for the boss—but a village that she pointed to.

"Let's go!" Reina ran toward the village. The first step was making sure the people were safe. After that, they could fight the boss and end the Wave.

Monster fell around them. From what Reina could make out in the sky, there were only two types this time. One fell about 20 feet in front of her, letting her get a better view.

It was a skeleton. Reina thought back to the last Wave in Lespax, where the monsters were zombies with the boss being a larger one and on fire. This skeleton had a broken breastplate covering its front and rusted chain links on its arms. As it stood from the ground, it raised up a dented shield in a defensive stance with a chipped sword as its weapon.

"Forge Spirit!" Reina called out, bringing out her flaming zombie. A burning fist slammed down, meeting the shield of the skeleton and forcing it to its knees.

Reina was actually impressed by that. The monsters from the last two Waves didn't have much in terms of tactics, let alone self-preservation. Only the bosses showed any real intelligence. That shield strapped to the skeleton's arm wasn't just for show.

Still, it wasn't enough. Reina directed her spirit to swing a fist from the side, throwing the skeleton off balance. Another slam to its head and it was done.

More skeletons continued to land as they made their way to the village. A sword and shield were one of the two equipment loadouts for them. The other was a single longsword, chipped just like the shorter blades.

"Hah!" Grim took them on with glee.

It was a bit strange to see. He didn't come across as a battle maniac while they hunted in the forest. Here, with enemies all around, he seemed much more animated than before. Skeletons came at him and fell just as quickly.

Since he was in his element, Reina left him to it. Her focus would be on protecting people.

"Spirit Forger?" A man called out after blocking a strike from a skeleton.

Reina sent her spirit forward to strike it down, giving the man some breathing room. He looked to be a village guard based on his equipment.

"Thank goodness you're here!" He said happily, taking in a steadying breath.

"Is there a place the villagers can take shelter?" Reina asked as she observed the state of the village. Cries of panic were all around them, though Vyrdrun and Maria were already spread out to help thin out the monsters' numbers. Likewise, Kuromo slammed his claw into incoming skeletons, crushing them easily.

"We have a mine nearby." The guard told her. "It was bolstered as an emergency hideaway should bandits overwhelm the village, but it will serve for this."

"Good. Start getting people there and have the other guards do the same. We'll take on the monsters." Reina said before moving on. Being a hero meant people would take your word much more quickly than if she was a regular adventurer, so she had no doubt the guard would do just that.

"Boss!" Just as Reina was moving into position, Maria called out to her. She didn't even have time to react, a burning sensation quickly spreading on her back.

A quick use of Deft Strike from her unsummoned spirit broke the feeling, though it still lingered. There was no sound of impact. Reina turned to see what attacked her, and what her own attack didn't quite hit.

Interdimensional Wraith

With a body that looked more like a black, tattered cloak, this wraith floated up from the ground. Reina could partially see through it, leading her to believe that was why her armor's blind-sense didn't pick up on it. That also gave her a hint to what would affect it. To test that out, the flaming zombie spirit moved around her and struck at the wraith. Its form wavered slightly, bits of it falling away. Either it had a lot of HP, or the attack didn't do that much.

"Maria! Force Darts!" Reina commanded.

Maria did just that, throwing out a few darts at the wraith. Like paper, the places the darts struck were torn out. Reina had her spirit strike at it again as she backed up, seeing less damage done to it than Maria's spell. Still, a few more strikes were all it took to bring it down.

She didn't relax just yet. Reina turned around and brought up her sword, ready to fight the incoming skeleton. A few more were coming from the side, prompting her to send out her spirit to intercept them.

Reina had enough time to glance up before moving in to attack the skeleton. "Maria!" She called out. "A group of wraiths in the sky! Try using a single fireball on them!"

With its longsword, the skeleton tried to slash at Reina, but it wasn't skilled enough. Those days getting beaten by Grim were paying off. They allowed her to divert the skeleton's blade to the ground and let her chop off its head.

"Fireball!" Maria's spell went up into the air, soon exploding on a group of four wraiths.

With her spirit handling the skeletons to her side, Reina observed the damage to the wraiths. Two of them looked like they'd been through the washer far too many times, while the other two looked perfectly fine.

"Maria!" Reina got ready to give her advice, but Maria held up her hand.

"I got it, Boss. Twin Force Darts!" The missiles flew through the air and shredded the two already weakened wraiths.

That was a good start. Just like in her game, undead without a solid body seemed to be able to avoid certain damage. Force damage, as the name of Maria's spell suggested, wasn't one of them.

By the looks of the village, the wraiths weren't that numerous. They didn't even make up one-tenth of the monster, or even one-twentieth. Still, the burn on Reina's back told her they'd be a problem, especially if they swarmed.

"Kuromo! If you can keep from damaging the buildings or people, use your acid breath on the wraiths." Reina told her not-so-little dragon.

"Gau!" Kuromo turned to her after crushing a skeleton with his tail. He reeled back, taking a huge breath, then opened his mouth wide. "Gau!"

The beam of acid was more 'beam' than 'acid', not dropping anything to the ground as it flew upwards. Apparently, he had a good control on it. He aimed right at the two unharmed wraiths, who had descended almost enough to make using his breath dangerous. They were consumed by the acid, which was magical in nature. Their bodies quickly began dissolving as the beam went on.

It was a little strange to see it happen, based on what she first thought. In her games, intangible creatures were only hurt by magic 50% of the time. Now, since things were done in turns, that made sense. Seeing it in practice was a bit different. Sure, Kuromo's breath probably only worked half the time, but that was a lot of acid passing through them. Half of a lot was still a lot.

"Start flying around the village." Reina told him. "Focus on the wraiths in the sky."

"Gau!" Kuromo took a running start, flapping his wings and becoming airborne.

Reina would have to give him extra rewards after the Wave, since he'd be such a big help.

"Let's get you fixed up, Boss." Maria said as she quickly approached.

Reina set her spirit to attack another group of skeletons. It had taken a little damage, but its defense was more than enough to handle the attacks, thanks in no small part to Reina's own defense.

Maria held up her hands near Reina. "Healing Hands!"

The HP in Reina's status went up slowly, slower than it normally did. It was only a couple seconds until it stopped, still short of full.

"Something wrong?" Reina asked. Maria shook her head.

"It feels like something's blocking the healing a little." She said. "That monster…the damage might be a low-level curse."

A curse. Just like the wounds on that dead dragon, Kuromo's mother. "How dangerous is it?" Reina asked.

"If it was stronger, I'd be worried. As it is, a single dose of holy water should heal it, or letting it heal naturally is fine as well." Maria answered.

It wasn't life threatening was the takeaway. That was good. It would let them deal with the battle first.

"Boss!" Maria called out.

It felt like things had calmed down just a little too much in their immediate area, so of course something wanted to pop out at her again. This time, Reina was ready for the surprise. The wraith that was floating up from the ground out of the corner of her vision wouldn't last long.

However, Reina didn't get the chance.

A beam of acid cut through the wraith, obliterating it completely.

Reina turned to look at the source of the acid, seeing Lola scratching her nose. Despite the attack, Lola still had a human appearance. Her faced turned away slightly as Reina's eyes met hers. "What? I just sneezed, Big Sis."

Reina couldn't help but smile at that. Despite what the taller girl said before, she clearly attacked that monster for Reina. It wouldn't have killed her, so it wasn't to save her life. It was just so she wouldn't take damage from it.

"Let's get back to work." Reina told Maria as the two of them moved out.

~Forging Legends~

Another skeleton stepped into Reina's vision, and another skeleton was crushed by the fist of her flaming zombie spirit. She almost felt silly with the Claws ability on it, since it wasn't really seeing any use against fleshless monsters.

According to Lola, the village was a few days away from the capital, so no knights would be arriving anytime soon. It was also far away from where her cousins lived, she noted, so she was happy about that. She still didn't transform, but that was her business.

"Three on the left!" Grim called out as he cut down an enemy of his own.

"Turn Undead!" Reina called out her skill. The approaching skeletons shook before breaking apart, thrown back like they were struck by a hammer. That allowed her to focus on the two skeletons her zombie spirit was dealing with.

The state of the village was slowly coming under control. The guards were a bit stronger than the skeletons, not to mention the adventurers and two knights that were also present. The villagers were moved to the more defensible mining cave. A knight and a few guards were there to keep monsters away while others continued to protect nearby villagers.

The skeletons weren't much of a problem. The wraiths, however, kept trying.

"Twin Force Darts!" Maria yelled her spell.

The wraith that tried to sneak up on Grim was shredded, its cloak body falling to pieces on the ground. It was strange no matter how many times Reina saw it, the intangible body lying on the ground as if it was solid. There were more important things to worry about, so Reina ignored the weirdness of it.

She didn't expect much, but Reina tried using her other spirit's Healing Touch. It did about as well as Maria's spell on another wraith wound, stopping a little shy of fully recovering it. Since it would take a bit more time and care, Vyrdrun hadn't tried treating those wounds yet. Once the Wave was over, he'd have a look.

Thankfully, everyone had a way to fight the wraiths that got past Kuromo. Grim's cleaver was enchanted—it really was a good weapon—and Vyrdrun could imbue his large mace with magic. That ended up doing better than her spirit's attacks. The nature of the magic must have played a part in it. Though, enchanting her spirit with Enchanted Fist helped catch up.

"Gau!" Kuromo continued to fly through the air, spewing his beam of acid breath at every wraith he came close to. Their numbers had really thinned out.

Out of all of them, Vyrdrun was probably handling himself the best. With his recent weapon gain, the skeletons stood no chance against his strength and reach. They didn't have the intelligence to plan since they kept attacking him if he was closest.

Grim was a close second. "Hahaha!" He really enjoyed himself. It didn't matter that they had no flesh to cut. The cleaver had enough weight to smash them to pieces.

The skeletons did have one tactic they tried, though it wasn't very effective. A group of them approached, swords 'sheathed' behind their shields and longswords lowered to the ground. From their skeletal hands grew a spike made out of bone that they hurled as javelins at a group of guards.

"Wall of Stone!" Maria's quick thinking shielded the guards, before letting go of the spell and letting the conjured stone turn to dust, the bone spikes falling to the ground.

At the rate they were going, the village would be secured soon.

And Lola, the sweet girl she was showing herself to be today, acted again. It was when a mother and daughter were cornered by a trio of skeletons. Once again, Reina could have acted in time, using Second Spirit to intercept them, but Lola stepped in and smashed the skeletons with her fists.

"They got close to me." She had looked at her nails as the mother and daughter thanked her before running off.

It was nice to see that. Lola did care, but she might have wanted deniability in case anyone in her family asked.

All in all, Reina and her party handled the village defense well. It took about 20 minutes after their arrival, but the villagers were able to take shelter and be protected.

A knight approached them. "All the villagers are accounted for, Spirit Forger." He told her. "We are prepared to defend them until you end the Wave."

Reina nodded to him and then turned to her party. "Let's get going."

With the village secured, the party went off to fight the boss of the Wave. Based on what she saw, Reina agreed with the knight. They would be more than enough now to hold out until then.

"How's everyone doing?" Reina asked as they moved through the field.

"Good, Boss." Maria replied, drinking an MP potion.

"Only a little tired." Grim said with his cleaver over his shoulder.

"No problems." Vyrdrun was still sporting his large mace, and it seemed to still be in good condition.

"Gau!" Kuromo flew a bit above them, gliding on his wings.

With her party in good spirits and condition, Reina looked to Lola. The girl had all her draconic appendages out and flew next to them, now that they were out of the village. Reina assumed it was to keep a low profile, but now they were going for something a bit more dangerous and she wanted to be ready.

That was why Reina didn't just have Kuromo fly them there. Vyrdrun wouldn't have been able to ride him, and it was better to stick together.

The minutes passed as they traveled. Monsters still fell around them and attacked, but it was far less concentrated than before. All in all, this Wave wasn't difficult, even without reinforcements. Still, what concerned Reina more than the Wave, more than the boss, was the potential for something to pop out at them.

"Of course, because why not?" Reina questioned aloud. They just came over a small hill to the sight of their battle.

Interdimensional Skeleton Dragon

In a large clearing, the skeleton of a large dragon sat. Much like its name suggested, it had wings and a long body, all of it without any flesh or muscle. Dozens of human-sized skeletons shambled around it, though a few looked their way.

"Piercing Shot!" Reina made the first move, shooting off her skill at the undead dragon.

The magical bolt struck near the base of its neck, breaking off a rib. It let out a strange roar. With no lungs, it sounded not quite robotic, but there was a reverb to it.

"Twin Fireball!" Maria aimed at the skeletons surrounding it, blasting away their numbers.

"Once the skeletons are gone, we'll take on the boss." Reina told her party.

"Gau!" Kuromo joined in with Maria, melting a line of skeletons with his acid breath.

While that was happening, Grim and Vyrdrun positioned themselves to intercept any skeletons that got close, along with Reina's spirit. Kuromo swatted at a skeleton that tried to attack him, getting broken apart for its trouble. Reina stood near Maria, eyeing a wraith that tried to sneak up underground.

"Turn Undead!" When the wraith surfaced, it took the full might of Reina's skill, being bathed in disrupting light. A quick Deft Strike finished off the tattered cloak of a monster.

The undead dragon didn't sit idle as they removed the weaker monsters, but it was still slower moving. It lumbered forward, head high and skeletal wings spread. Two red pinpricks made up its eyes in its shadow-filled sockets.

Almost like a whip, its head snapped forward at Grim. With his cleaver up, he was able to block the momentum of the attack. Thanks to his stats and experience, he was able to duck out of the way before the dragon's jaw clamped shut.

"Hah!" He pivoted from his crouch and swung his cleaver, impacting against bone and breaking part of the dragon's jaw.

It didn't seem like this boss would be as dangerous as the last one.

The moment that idea crossed Reina's mind, the dragon reared back once more. It lifted its head up as if taking in a breath.

"Crap! Get behind me! Second Spirit!" It wasn't hard to figure out what the undead dragon was going to do. Reina brought forth her advanced doll spirit and stood it next to her zombie one.

Her party gathered near her, though Kuromo had the foresight to take to the air, since there wouldn't have been enough cover. The undead dragon let out a plume of black energy that looked almost like thick smoke. It swept from one side of the field to the other, barely spraying on her spirits for more than a second. The damage wasn't severe, only hurting her doll spirit, though a sustained attack would have required healing.

"Let's see how much damage we can do before it tries that again." Reina instructed.

"Got it—aw, hell!" Grim was about to move forward when a skeleton rose up and swung its sword at him. He was able to parry the strike, slashing the skeleton and dropping it once more.

All around them, the skeletons they already defeated started getting up again. The ones that were more disassembled, like the skeleton Kuromo threw back, took longer for the bones to come together again.

"It healed its allies as it attacked." Vyrdrun informed, slamming his mace at a nearly-formed skeleton. "Impressive."

"Twin Force Darts!" Maria launched her spell at the rejuvenated wraith, putting it back down. "We'll need to kill it quickly!"

That was even more the case beyond ending the Wave and protecting the village. Their MP wouldn't last forever with a limited number of potions. What's more, the skeletons were more spread out before. If they all gathered in one area, right around the party, the dragon could use its breath in a small space, dealing more damage to them.

"Piercing Shot!" Reina's magic bolt fired into the undead dragon's head, cracking it further. "Kuromo, attack the boss! Everyone else, the skeletons!"

As the party spread out, Reina moved her two spirits to engage the undead dragon. It was the biggest threat to them, aside from being overwhelmed in a small space.

The dragon was burned as the zombie spirit lit up with Immolation. The spirit was clawed at as it clung to the base of the boss's neck, keeping the focus there and away from her party. With sustained damage, it wouldn't last long, but her advanced doll spirit worked to hold back the attacking claw.

"Gau!" Kuromo flew behind the skeletal dragon and breathed acid over its body. The attack was away from the spirits, allowing them to hold the boss longer and to keep from triggering Death Pact on Kuromo if they were destroyed.

Reina, needing to keep tabs on her spirits to be more effective, engaged with the boss as well. "Web!" The skill wrapped around one claw, keeping it on the ground while the doll spirit held back the other.

Her zombie spirit swung at the dragon's neck with Flaming Fists active, continuing to burn it. The boss gave out another garbled roar from the pain, its wings flapping about and striking Reina's spirits with heavy bones.

"Turn Undead!" Light shone from Reina blade, striking the chest of the dragon. Too late she remembered a trait of her zombie spirit, which was within range of the power. Both it and the dragon were damage from the skill.

"RAWR!" That one sounded much more like a normal dragon as the boss was able to leverage itself out of the Web and grab at the zombie spirit, throwing it away.

Reina ducked as the boss took a swing at her, but she was only a secondary target. The undead dragon's claw grabbed her doll spirit and slammed it on the ground, pinning it in place. It then drew back its head.

"Breath!" Reina called out in warning. Whether it would try to heal and revive its allies or only attack her spirit, she didn't know.

That did give her an idea.

The undead dragon angled its head down, ready to breathe out its attack.

"Change Spirit!" Reina yelled.

In an instant, the doll spirit switched places with the zombie spirit, who was making its way back over.

The undead dragon blew its energy breath down at the now-pinned zombie spirit before tilting its head up to spray over its allies. All of Reina's party had cleared out of the way by then.

At the end of the attack, Reina's zombie spirit had recovered all of its HP. It was a small gamble, but it paid off. She thought its defense was high enough to not get damaged by the last breath attack, but it turned out to heal undead. If it only healed Wave monsters, the attack would have done more damage just then. As it was, she had a better weapon to fight with than before.

From there, she adopted a more aggressive strategy. She slashed at the dragon's claw, making it release its captive. The zombie spirit flew up and fought hard and recklessly, opting for damage over sustainability or distraction. That was the job of the doll spirit, for the time Reina had it out and not replenishing her SP. She, however, also engaged with it, though more defensively. Her attack stat was a little lower than her two spirits with all the tokens on her weapon, and she used an edged weapon instead of a blunt one against the hard bones of the dragon.

It was something Reina thought about in her training. She'd been fighting wrong and needed to change that. It depended on the situation, but she and whatever spirits she had forged could change who was supporting and who was attacking. In this case, she should support. In other times, when someone saw her as the one controlling the spirits, she'd have to take the attacks head on while her spirits supported her. She'd practice more once this fight was done.

With a better handle on how the fight would progress, they quickly got into a rhythm. After enough skeletons were damaged or knocked down, the boss would spray its damaging/healing breath over them, healing any damage it did to Reina's zombie spirit. Then the spirit would renew its assault on the boss.

It was just a matter of time, and after five minutes of repeating the cycle, the boss was on its last legs.

"Second Spirit!" Reina brought her other spirit out again to finish the attack. They both attacked the dragon. Heavy punches with fire in the mix dropped the dragon on its belly. With it prone, Kuromo swooped lower and bathed it in acid once more. The undead dragon let out a warbled gurgle sound before stilling completely, the red dots for eyes disappearing.

Reina kept herself from relaxing just yet, if only because the latest in the healed undead Wave monsters were still around them. It was quick work to put them all down a final time. Once that was done, she dismissed her spirits to let her SP begin recharging more.

"Phew!" Maria wiped her brow with her hand. "That wasn't so bad."

"Agreed." Grim hefted his cleaver over his shoulder. "Much better than last time."

Reina had to appreciate his sense of humor. Anything was better than getting turned on by temporary allies and being peppered with bolts and arrows.

There were a lot of monsters to clean up and absorb. A couple hundred, including the ones the knights, guards, and adventurers killed. Well, she could absorb some of those, but Reina imagined some of the adventurers would want the corpses as material for equipment. The gear the skeletons wore wasn't in good condition, but it might be worth something to them, too.

"Say…" Grim spoke up again. "Shouldn't the Wave end now?"

Reina looked up at the sky. Sure enough, the swirls of red energy were still there, and the rifts were still open, though no more monsters fell from the sky.

"What's going on?" Reina asked no one in particular. After killing the boss of the last Wave, the sky began reverting back to its normal color right away. It wasn't instantaneous, but there still should have been some change.

"I can answer that."

Reina turned to the source of the new voice. Nearby, where one of the rifts touched the ground, a man approached them. He wore a coat of armor made of scales that almost made it look like chainmail, though it was more fitted than loose. That said, he had a belt around his waist. A few small bottles were attached, along with the only weapons Reina could see on him: a pair of sai.

"Who are you?" Reina asked the man.

The man, bare-handed, brushed back a bit of his hair from his face. "Heh, well…"

"Lola?" The draconic girl was in front of her in a moment, shortsword in clawed hand at her side.

"He's here for you, Big Sis." She said, keeping herself between the two.

The others in Reina's party got closer to her, weapons ready. Kuromo loomed above, letting out a low growl.

The man held up his hands easily. He started moving to the side, prompting the party to turn as he walked. "Unfortunately, she's right. Assuming, of course, you are this world's Holy Hero."

Reina looked at him, confused. She hadn't been called anything like that before. No, that wasn't right. It was only one person, or entity, but the Fire Spirit did call her the Hero of the Holy Ritual Implement.

"It looks like you are." The man said, seeming almost disappointed. At about 20 feet away, he lowered his arms over the handles of his sai and pulled them loose. "I'd rather not harm kids, but I don't really have much choice here."

"I don't understand." Reina spoke up, putting a hand on Lola's shoulder. The taller girl looked at her as Reina took a step forward. "Who are you? Why do you want to fight me?"

"Telling you my name will make this feel more personal, but I guess I owe you that much." The man spun one sai in his hand. "My name is Barnabas, the Vassal Sai Hero. And, for the sake of my world, I'll have to kill you."

"Your world? Kill me? What's going on?" Reina wasn't sure what it all meant. But she did spot the gems in the guards of the two sai Barnabas held.

Lola, however, pushed passed Reina, taking a few steps in front of the party. "You aren't going anywhere near Big Sis." She said resolutely.

"'Big Sis'? Ah…" Barnabas turned his head away. "Then you're working with these…people. That makes this a little easier."

"What're you talking about?" Reina asked.

Barnabas pointed one of his sai at Lola. "I didn't witness it myself, but there was another like her. Tall, like your companion there, but wider and barrel-chested. He used a long, metal club as a weapon."

Reina looked to Vyrdrun for a moment before focusing on Barnabas again. That sounded like Goalith, Lola's oldest brother.

"My associate, the Vassal Broadsword Hero, came here in another Wave. He fought with the dragon man. From what I heard, they were evenly matched…at first. Then the dragon man gained an edge somehow and beat him back. When he tried to retreat, the dragon man pounced on him from behind and smashed him to pulp."

Reina grimaced at that. Attacking someone who was retreating…but he came from another world to…kill her. It didn't make any sense.

"He got what he deserved." Lola said without any sense of remorse. "He should never have come here, just like you." She held up her shortsword and pulled out a dagger as well. "You'll die, too."

"Oh, I'm not going to fight you, dragon girl." Barnabas shook his head. "It would be better, since I'm sure I could keep your attention long enough, but that's not my job. Instead—"

It happened in an instant. There was the sound of beating wings, just before a blur of motion happened right in front of Reina. She could barely track the movement, but she could see three things.

First was a pair of white, feathery wings.

Second was a sword slamming into Lola's shortsword, the girl having pivoted to block the strike.

Third, and most worrying, was a hand that pressed against Lola's face as it was pushed into the ground and dragged away from the group, dragging up a cloud of dirt.

"She is." Barnabas finished. "Oh. I guess you're too far away to hear me."

"Lola!" Reina yelled out.

The white-winged person, a woman, flapped her wings back as a beam of acid shot out from Lola. The woman hovered in the air, pointing her weapon down at Lola from on high. "Thine bastard brother killed mine! I'll have thine head as blood payment!"

Lola flapped her own leathery wings, blowing away the dust cloud that was kicked up around her. "He got what he deserved for attacking Brother Gau." She replied evenly. "You're going to join him soon."

And with that, Lola took to the air as well, clashing with the winged woman.

Barnabas sighed once more, focusing again on Reina and her party. "And while the new Broadsword Hero fights for revenge, I'll be fighting to save our world." He gripped his sai and began walking forward. "Like I said, it's not personal for me, not like for Gespia up there. Nevertheless, I'll ask that you die for the sake of my world."

Author's Notes:

At first, the Wave battle was going to be a lot more 'tell' than 'show'. Then I looked at it and decided I hated that, so I added a few play-by-plays. Then decided it would look terrible, so I did more of an intro the Wave, then a bit of a flash forward. I just didn't want to take too long and get to the meat of things. (Get it? Because they're skeletons!) I already established that, aside from volume, the Wave monsters weren't too difficult outside of the boss.

And, let's be honest, the Waves weren't that big in the books. At least not to me. The first one, sure. The second one, only the boss, but Glass quickly took the spotlight. The third, again, it was the otherworlders there.

Speaking of otherworlders…

I'm using a weapon hero I made for The Wrong Hero (and, later, The Right Man for the Job) here, though a different character. I figured, "Hey, I already came up with one, might as well use it." We'll see how focusing on two fights at once works out this time. I think it went decently in the last Wave, though I may give a little more focus to Lola next chapter.

Oh, and look! I broke up the Wave chapter again. At least it wasn't because of a Demon Lord this time, right?
