Chapter Eleven

Jessica woke, she had the world's worst headache and her eyes felt heavy and sore. She groaned groggily as she tried to remember the previous night. She definitely didn't remember going to bed. Jessica sat up in her bed, still confused, and the headache wasn't helping matters. She climbed out of bed, taking an empty glass with her, and went into her bathroom. She filled her glass up with some water and popped two paracetamol tablets from its packet.

She wandered back into her bedroom as she popped the tablets into her mouth and gulped her water to wash them down with.

"Headache huh?" Damon asked as he watched the young girl swallow the tablets then startle having not been aware he was there.

"Yeah, that's an understatement" Jessica chuckled quietly.

Damon sat on the edge of Jessica's bed and studied the girl.

"What happened?" Jessica groaned.

Damon shrugged.

"You were exhausted and you kind of passed out downstairs. I brought you up and tucked you into bed" Damon explained breezily.

Jessica blinked. She vaguely remembered getting upset and feeling really sleepy. She also remembered how Damon had scooped her up and at least tried to be comforting.

'God how humiliating?' she grimaced as she thought to herself.

Damon stared at her guessing where her line of thought was judging by her facial expression but did not know what to say, so he patiently waited.

Jessica eventually nodded in acceptance.

"I need to get ready for school" Jessica stated.

Damon frowned.

"You're going to school? After last night?" he asked in surprise.

Jessica shrugged.

"Don't need to give them any more ammunition to use against me" she stated as she grabbed some fresh clothes and walked back into the bathroom to start getting ready for the day ahead.

When she came back out of the bathroom, she was shocked to see that Damon hadn't moved from his position on her bed. Jessica just stared at him as she went over her bed and began to pull the sheets straight. Damon watched her in concern for a moment and then stood up so that she could finish making her bed properly.

"If you've got something to say, then go ahead" Jessica said trying not to grit her teeth.

Damon's concerned stare was unnerving her.

Damon raised an eyebrow and was about to reprimand her for the attitude but instead, he picked up on her accelerated heartbeat and could practically smell her nervousness.

Damon sighed.

"Ok. About what was discussed last night…" he started.

"What about it...?" Jessica quickly cut him off before continuing.

"…You asked questions, and I answered them" Jessica stated, trying to be nonchalant.

Damon shook his head.

"It's not something you should just keep bottling up. Your repressed emotions will get the better of you" Damon argued.

Jessica laughed dryly.

"I think you should apply your last statement to yourself before you try and apply it to someone else" Jessica said.

Damon looked stunned. He was about to retort with something witty but…

"Look, I need to get to school before I'm late. Wouldn't want them to think I'm more of a 'menace to society' than they already think I am, right?" she stated.

Damon looked at her with concern once more.

Realising Damon was not going to say anything else in response, Jessica grabbed her school bag and headed downstairs where she knew she would find Stefan waiting for her.

Stefan also looked at her with worry. He had heard and witnessed the teen sobbing in her father's arms the night before but had not heard the conversation that had led to that. He was determined to get the truth out of her that morning, but Jessica continued walking straight past him, through the living room, and out the front door. Stefan followed quickly behind.

The drive to school was quiet. Stefan attempted again to ask Jessica what had got her so upset the night before, but she growled in response and refused to answer.

When they arrived at school, Stefan asked if Jessica was still wearing the vervain that he had given her.

"Of course I am, why would I not?" she asked.

"We have another mystery vampire in town, and I just like to make sure that you're protected" Stefan said, he had given Elena the same warning the night before.

Jessica nodded and thanked him.

"Are you going to the dance tonight?" Stefan asked.

Jessica stared at him.

"What dance?" she asked.

"The 50's decade dance tonight?" Stefan asked, wondering how she hadn't heard about it yet.

Jessica shrugged.

"I'm still grounded, Damon's not going to let me do something fun" Jessica sighed.

"Right, I forgot about that. You could always ask him anyway…might make him laugh" Stefan teased.

Jessica bumped his shoulder in jest. The two laughed.

"Yo, Jessica!" Jeremy shouted from across the carpark as he ran towards them.

"Hey Jer" Jessica greeted him.

"Hi Stefan, Elena's sat with Caroline on one of the picnic benches" Jeremy told him.

Stefan nodded in thanks and said goodbye to Jessica and Jeremy.

"Geography first" Jeremy announced as the pair headed towards their first class.

"Sooo…are you going to the dance tonight?" Jeremy asked, making conversation.

"Er…probably not in all honesty" Jessica admitted.

"Why not?" Jeremy asked.

"I'm kinda grounded" Jessica stated.

"Woah! You? Grounded? What did you do" Jeremy asked, stunned.

"I gave Damon attitude" Jessica shrugged.

"Wow, brave of you! I mean, I like Damon, but that dude scares the crap outta me" Jeremy chuckled.

"Tell me about it" Jessica said as the pair entered their Geography class.

.

.

.

Jessica was laughing hysterically on their way to lunch.

"It's not funny!" Jeremy said, trying to keep his 'angry face' in place.

"It's hilarious! She may as well have said 'get up off your lazy arse and help out at the dance or I WILL fail you'" Jessica mimicked their English teacher.

Jeremy just shook his head as they sat down at an empty table in the cafeteria.

"Gutted! You have to go to the dance to clean up!" Jessica teased him further.

Jeremy just aggressively attacked his sandwich.

"If it means she won't fail me then I'll take it. Hey, do you want to come over to my house after school again today?" Jeremy asked.

Jessica took a bite of her sandwich as she shook her head.

"I can't, grounded remember? Also, Damon is most likely picking me up after school today" she said.

Jessica knew he would be taking her to Sheila's house again after school anyway.

"No worries" Jeremy said.

.

.

.

After school, it was actually Stefan that dropped Jessica off at Sheila's house.

She shrugged it off and prepared herself for her afternoon with the older witch. Jessica knew they were going to be practicing some basic spells and she was quite excited about it.

"This is a Grimoire. Any important spell that a witch casts is documented and collected amongst the pages of her Grimoire" Sheila explained to the young witch.

Jessica just looked through the Grimoire in fascination. She was in awe, despite the fact that she couldn't read the majority of it.

"Is this Emily Bennett's?" Jessica asked.

Sheila shook her head sadly.

"Unfortunately, we don't know where Emily Bennett hid her final Grimoire but what a privilege it would be to hold that in my hands" Sheila said sadly.

"I didn't mean to make you sad Sheila, please continue" Jessica apologised.

Sheila let Jessica practice a few spells that enabled her to lightly float objects, start small – and now controlled – fires, and taught Jessica how to summon objects.

Jessica was having so much fun that she didn't notice the time flying until a knock on the front door interrupted her concentration.

Sheila answered the door and frowned.

"Hi, I'm here to collect Jessica" Damon said.

Sheila glared at the man on her doorstep, she could sense that he was not an ally.

"Jessica, it's time for you to go home now. We will continue our work tomorrow" Sheila called to Jessica without taking her eyes off of Damon.

Damon stared back at the woman, god how he hated witches, they were far too fickle!

Jessica appeared a moment later with her stuff. She thanked Sheila for her time and stepped out onto the porch next to Damon.

"My God!" Sheila gasped as her hand dramatically flew to her heart.

Jessica looked in shock at the older woman.

"He's the vampire? Him?!" Sheila shouted having noticed the similarities between the two.

Damon looked confused and slightly defensive at the 'vampire' remark before turning to Jessica.

Jessica was still focused on Sheila as she nodded.

"Yes, him" Jessica confirmed.

"May your soul be saved child" she whispered to Jessica as she closed the door on them.

"Well, that was just rude" Damon stated as the two turned and headed for Damon's car.

Jessica just stared ahead of her.

"Any idea what that was all about?" Damon asked.

"Yep" Jessica replied.

"Are you gonna tell me?" Damon asked.

"Nope" Jessica grinned cheekily as she climbed into the passenger seat.

Damon was still confused but refused to deal with Jessica's teenage mood swings. He got in the car and started to drive.

"So, did you have fun with the witch this afternoon?" Damon asked making conversation.

"It was cool, she's really good at teaching me stuff. I don't know where I would be without her to be honest. I am tired though; I'm actually thinking of going to bed early" Jessica replied as she yawned.

"Actually…I have other plans for you for tonight" Damon stated mysteriously.

Jessica frowned and looked at him.

"If I say 'no', are you going to rip me from my bed and force me into it anyway again?" she quipped.

Damon glared at her.

"It's a fair question when it comes to you" Jessica shrugged.

"What crawled up your ass and died today?" Damon asked.

"I'm tired, and I get grumpy when I'm tired" Jessica responded.

Damon rolled his eyes at her.

"What size clothes do you wear? You look like you're a small" Damon asked, changing the conversation.

Jessica chuckled darkly.

"Now I know why your track record with women is so tragic. Surely you know that you can't just comment on a girl's clothes size" Jessica stated.

Damon shrugged.

"I will just have to guess you're a small" Damon said, not in the mood for her comments.

"Medium actually" Jessica replied.

Damon looked at her in shocked confusion.

"I highly doubt it" Damon said, the girl was practically a twig.

"No, seriously, I wear medium clothes" Jessica replied.

"Yeah, and your clothes practically hang off of you. You should get clothes that fit you better" Damon suggested.

"No, I'm good thanks" Jessica stated.

"Give me one good reason why wearing such baggy clothing is an attractive look. You have the vital Salvatore reputation to live up to you know" Damon informed her seriously.

Jessica gritted her teeth.

"I said 'no'" Jessica snapped.

Damon frowned at her.

"Why?" Damon pressed.

"Ok, yes, small clothes fit me fine, but I choose not to wear that size" Jessica replied.

"I know, but why?" Damon asked.

"What are you? A child?" Jessica asked, getting frustrated with his questioning.

"No, but you are. Now, I'm not asking you, tell me why" Damon demanded authoritatively.

Jessica growled.

Damon stared at her expectantly.

"Fine! Small size clothes fit my curves well" Jessica stated.

Damon just blinked in confusion at her response.

"Well, they would if they are the correct size that you should be wearing" Damon quipped.

"I don't like clothes fitting my curves that well" Jessica said through gritted teeth.

"But you sometimes look really scruffy" Damon stated honestly.

That comment really did upset Jessica.

She bent forward and looked down at her feet as she allowed her elbows to rest on her knees and her hands to grip the back of her heard harshly, nails digging into her neck bruising, as she tried to contain her frustration and anger.

Damon, concerned about the potential damage to the back of her head, quickly placed a hand on Jessica's shoulder in the hopes of stopping her from hurting herself.

Damon's touch caused Jessica to shoot straight back up into her sitting position and she growled at Damon, causing him to remove his hand just as quickly as he had placed it there.

"I'd rather look scruffy than wear clothes that make my tits and arse more noticeable than I'm comfortable with" Jessica said angrily.

That shut Damon's questioning down immediately, he hadn't thought about it like that and now her unease was crystal clear. He thought she was just being a typical teenage girl who hated how her body looked in every clothing item she had. Now he understood, and he wished he didn't. The sexual assault was clearly affecting the young girl more than she was letting on or realised. Up until this point, she had acted quite nonchalant about the whole ordeal however, her reaction to his innocent questioning about her clothes proved otherwise.

"Look Jessica, I'm sorry that I…" he started to apologise.

"Just forget it, why were you asking me about clothes anyway?" Jessica questioned him.

Damon sighed.

"Elena was attacked by our mystery vampire in her own home whilst she was getting ready for the dance tonight" Damon confessed.

"What?!" Jessica asked in shock.

Damon nodded.

"Looks like the vamp posed as a pizza delivery guy last night and got invited into her house" Damon stated.

"Clever" Jessica acknowledged.

Damon agreed.

"That's what I said. However, it means that Elena now needs extra protection, and we want her to go to the dance in the hopes that our mystery vamp will show up and try and get to her again. Stefan is taking her, and we are going to meet them there. I can't have you staying in the house alone just in case any other mystery vamps tracks us there" Damon explained.

Jessica sighed; she wished her life could be just a little bit more normal.

"I brought you a 50's outfit that I thought would help you blend in – but it's a small size. Suck it up for a few hours, ok? Also, punishment number five, I heard they were looking for helpers to clean up at the dance tonight" Damon grinned at his last statement.

"Great" Jessica murmured as she crossed her arms and refused to say another word.

Damon and Jessica pulled up outside the house a few minutes later. Damon walked into the house and over to the couch. He picked up what Jessica assumed was her 50's outfit and handed it to her.

"Here, go and put this on. We leave in twenty minutes" Damon stated.

Jessica took the outfit and made her way up to her room. Eyeing her bed longingly, she resisted the urge to crawl into it and fall asleep and started to change her clothes. At least the dress was a dark black and purplish kind of deal.

She shoved the dress and shoes on and then grimaced at her reflection. She hated being all dressed up like this.

She quickly brushed her teeth, put on some make-up, applied more deodorant, and ran a brush through her curls. She then made her way back down to Damon who was waiting for her in the living room still.

His eyebrows raised when he saw her. Maybe that dress wasn't a good idea. He tried to play it off coolly.

"Well hello Grace Kelly" he bowed sarcastically.

"Another word and I will be shoving my foot right up your 'rear window'" Jessica quipped back.

"I'm surprised you know that film" Damon said.

"Look, if you're making me wear this damn dress can I at least have the cigarette to go with it?" Jessica asked.

Damon just stared at her, knowing she was being serious.

"Nice try. Let's go, you've got drinks to serve" Damon said as he grabbed his jacket, and they made their way towards the door.

.

.

.

At the dance, Damon immediately headed towards where Stefan and Elena were. Jessica rolled her eyes; she had been left alone again.

She headed over to the drinks tables and found Jeremy.

He looked at her in shock.

"Ok. Firstly, I thought you weren't coming to this thing. Secondly, you look amazing" Jeremy said.

Jessica grinned.

"Thanks. But it's more of a punishment. I've been forced into a dress AND Damon has 'encouraged' me to join the clean-up committee" Jessica stated.

Jeremy laughed at her.

"Ouch!" Jeremy replied through laughter.

"It's not funny" Jessica chuckled back as she helped put out fresh cups and paper plates on the tables.

As the evening went on, Jessica looked out and saw everyone dancing. Stefan was dancing with Elena. Damon was dancing with…actually it looked like he was dancing a little too closely with a blonde in a poodle skirt.

Jeremy had disappeared a while ago, he had been talking to some other chick about a founder's journal.

Jessica was actually a little bored.

"Come on, come dance with me" a voice said suddenly from behind her.

She swivelled around and came face-to-face with Tyler.

Jessica hadn't really seen much of Tyler since that day he and Jeremy almost started fighting. Tyler was unfortunately one of those guys who was a different person when he was with his mates but, get him alone, and he was actually somewhat of a decent human being.

"I'm supposed to be cleaning up rubbish" Jessica stated.

"I can see that, take a time out and come dance with me" Tyler said.

"Fine, but if I get in trouble, it's all on you" Jessica grinned as she took his hand and led her to the dancefloor.

On the dancefloor, Tyler and Jessica danced. Both of them were uncoordinated and Jessica would break out into fits of giggles when Tyler tripped over his own feet. They danced all awkward and silly to the faster paced music around them.

However, when 'Sixty Minute Man' by the Dominoes started playing, Jessica and Tyler slowed down their dancing to match the tempo of the music. Tyler took Jessica into his arms and lightly swayed with her to the rhythm. Jessica felt her breath catch in her throat. She had slept with boys, drunk herself stupid with boys, smoked with boys however, never had a boy held her so gently in his arms and made her feel this comfortable.

She melted into Tyler's arms and swayed with him whilst smiling up at him. Tyler smiled back down at Jessica, and they relaxed into the song. Jessica moved her arms to reach over each of Tyler's shoulders and Tyler moved his hands down to the back of Jessica's hips. She allowed his fingertips to lightly rest at the top of her bum. The two danced extremely closely, Jessica's hips pressed nicely against Tyler's. The gentle pressure did not make her feel uncomfortable and she was surprised to find that she actually enjoyed the feeling. Maybe it was because there were lots of other people around? She also knew that Damon and Stefan were close by.

Jessica dared to push her hips forward slightly, adding pressure against Tyler. He groaned lightly at the feeling but made no attempt to push the movement further. He was letting Jessica take the reins here. Jessica rocked her hips purposefully experimenting as she looked up at Tyler's face. He looked down into her eyes, a fire in his own. Jessica stretched her neck upwards and tilted her chin as she let her eyes close. Her lips brushed against Tyler's, and he made the last necessary movement to join their lips together. Their mouths moved against each other gloriously. Jessica felt small jolts of electricity shoot throughout her nerves, she had never experienced gentle snogging quite like this before.

Tyler ran his tongue along Jessica's lower lip, she granted him access into her mouth. Their tongues swirled around each other, battling for dominance as the two teens began breathing unevenly. Jessica pushed her body as close as she could against Tyler's. Tyler's hands held her there tightly as the pair began to rub intimately against each other.

Jessica knew she shouldn't feel anything, she wouldn't normally however, this time, she felt exhilarated and warm. There was no sense of dread in the pit of her stomach, no nauseous feeling, no terrifying sense of being out of control. In fact, she felt appreciated and mutual – Tyler was being extremely delicate with her, and she felt amazing for the first time ever.

The pair were lost in their own little world as everything around them disappeared. They continued to kiss hotly on the edge of the dancefloor, no one else seemed to be paying attention to them.

Except two vampires who were stood on the other side of the dancefloor.

Damon and Stefan watched in anger as the star of the football team shoved his tongue down the throat of their ward.

"That kid is dead" Damon growled to Stefan.

Stefan just sighed.

"Damon, you can't just go charging over there and telling her how she is and isn't allowed to live her life" Stefan said.

Damon whirled around to face his little brother.

"Actually Stefan, as her father, that is EXACTLY what I am supposed to do. Rutting like that around others publicly is an example of inappropriate behavior. Behind closed doors, and in private, it's fine and fair enough" Damon tried to get through to Stefan.

"I still don't think that you should…" Stefan was cut off.

"Stefan, you really have NO idea. Why don't you go dance with your teenager, while I go and deal with mine?" Damon suggested rhetorically.

Before Stefan could answer, Damon had already turned and started heading towards Jessica and Tyler.

Jessica, who was starting to feel a little warm from the sensual kissing, was also starting to feel a little awkward as she could feel Tyler's desire growing against her hip. She slowed down the light rutting against him, hoping he wouldn't think of her as a tease.

She felt Tyler's growl get caught in his throat as his hands moved lower in a move to cup her…

"Ok, you're done!" Jessica heard as she felt Tyler's lips being practically ripped from her own.

Tyler turned to yell at the person who dared to put their hands on him however, he quickly turned pale at the sight of Damon Salvatore glaring daggers at him.

Jessica, who was trying to get oxygen to circulate to her brain again, just stood there feeling slightly embarrassed that she had forgotten exactly where she was. Despite feeling rather flushed, she felt lightheaded and dizzy in a satisfying way. She revelled in the feeling as she watched Damon speaking to Tyler in a threatening tone before sending Tyler scurrying away. She was too focused on the sound of her blood rushing through her ears and her heartbeat trying to force its way out of her chest, to hear exactly what Damon was saying to Tyler.

"Hello? Jessica? Are you ok?" Damon asked, as he shook her shoulders lightly.

Jessica snapped out of her daze and stared at her father.

"I-I'm fine" she whispered, as she resisted the urge to bring her fingertips up to her lips.

Damon stared at her, trying to ascertain whether she was telling the truth but could tell by her fast heartbeat that it wasn't out of fear. The hormones that had been emanating from the two teens had been strong enough that, if Damon could, he would have vomited right there and then.

"I believe the main point of you being here is to clean up, not swap spit…" Damon stated, arms crossed.

Jessica, who was still flushed red and had slightly swollen lips, nodded and headed back to the tables to start clearing away used plates and cups.

Damon just shook his head as he watched her, that girl was going to get herself into trouble at the rate she was going.

"Teens, eh?" a voice said from beside him.

Damon turned his head to the guy who had spoken to him and stared at him.

"Sorry, I'm Alaric Saltzman, the history teacher" Alaric introduced.

"Ah, I'm Damon Salvatore" Damon replied.

"That explains why you looked like you were about to tear Tyler's limbs off. Jessica is a bit of a live wire, so I hear" Alaric said.

Damon frowned at the comment, was this teacher going to be another Tanner who thrived on student gossip?

Alaric noticed.

"Sorry man, I didn't mean to imply anything. Kids talk, stories spread…us teachers hear about them as well you know. Stefan's a good student so is Jessica actually, they are both doing the Salvatore name proud at the moment" Alaric stated with a smile, trying to keep the conversation going.

"They're good kids who both have a lot to offer, despite their spotty attendance records" Damon agreed.

"Yeah, I saw that on their records. Did you guys travel around a lot?" Alaric asked casually.

Damon's senses suddenly switched to high alert, what was with this guy and the personal questions?

Alaric noticed and quickly backtracked before he could raise any suspicions.

"Sorry man, I didn't mean to pry. I'm nosy. Both the kids just seem really intelligent and full of knowledge, I just assumed it might be because they are more cultured potentially a result of having travelled around a lot. Which is a great thing, by the way" Alaric lied.

Damon nodded but did not say anything else but continued to stare at the teacher suspiciously.

"Well enjoy the rest of the dance, I better get back to the whole teacher chaperone thing and stop that kid over there from spiking the punch" Alaric said as he quickly walked towards the kid with the whiskey flask by the punchbowl, relieved that he had an excuse to get away from the vampire.

Over by the serving tables, Jessica noticed that they were running low on cups and napkins.

"Jessica, could you run to the English classroom and grab some more napkins and plastic cups please?" one of the seniors asked her.

Jessica nodded, she was actually appreciative to have a small break as she moved away from the hall and through the corridors to the English classroom.

She made it to the English classroom and started looking for extra cups and napkins however, she was halted in her task by some curious noise coming from the direction of the cafeteria.

She could hear grunting and other sounds of struggle and then a loud crash. Without hesitation, she ran towards the source of the noise.

Upon reaching the cafeteria, she peeked through the window and saw a guy trying to attack Elena. Elena was holding her own and trying to break a broom in half with her knee.

'Elena?!' she thought to herself worriedly, as she shoved her way through the doors into the room without thinking it through any further.

The guy seemed to have been taken by surprise by her sudden appearance as he whirled around to face Jessica, fangs extended.

'FUCK!' Jessica thought.

The guy, seeing Jessica as a threat, moved quickly towards her. He had barely taken a step when he fell to his knees, screaming and holding his head.

Elena was confused at the plight of the vampire, until she noticed Jessica staring at the vampire with a fixated look.

"Jessica?" she said awkwardly.

Jessica hadn't heard her and was lost in her own magic. She felt satisfied that she could take down a threat.

She was so out of it that she didn't hear the sounds of Damon and Stefan entering the room. Stefan had gone straight over to comfort Elena, who looked terrified. However, Damon approached Jessica and lightly placed his hands comfortingly on her shoulders.

"Jessica, you need to snap out of it sweetie" Damon whispered gently.

Jessica started to feel reality bleeding through again and focused on the comforting sensation on her shoulders.

She snapped out of it and looked to her left; Damon was looking at her in concern.

She frowned at him, trying to comprehend what had just happened, then Damon wiped his thumb in the space between her upper lip and nose. When he pulled his thumb back, she saw that his thumb had blood, her blood, on it.

Damon looked at her a moment more, with a hint of worry gracing his features before he gently guided her to sit down in one of the cafeteria chairs.

He then turned back to the task at hand.

"Hey dickhead!" he yelled at the vampire who was still rolling around in pain on the floor.

Stefan and Damon went into 'Spanish Inquisition' mode as Elena and Jessica watched quietly from the side-lines. When the situation reached the inevitable conclusion of the vampire with a piece of wood shoved through his chest, Damon grabbed hold of Jessica and started to march her away from the cafeteria and towards the main hall where the dance was continuing.

As they walked into the hallway, they noticed Alaric Saltzman stood in the middle of the hallway looking uncertainly at them both.

Damon knew there was something up with this guy.

He approached Alaric and asked him a few questions about what he knew, and why he was here, before compelling Alaric to forget everything he had seen that night besides the dance itself.

Damon steered Jessica through the corridor and subtly through the dance hall and all the way to his car. He then sat Jessica in the front seat and drove his car round to the cafeteria door. From there, Damon and Stefan loaded the now dead vampire into the trunk of Damon's car. Stefan went back inside to make sure Elena was ok, but Jessica remained with Damon as they headed out into the woods in Damon's car.

"Are you sure you're ok" Damon asked.

Jessica nodded.

"Just exhausted" Jessica whispered back.

"Do you understand what happened tonight?" Damon asked.

"There was a threat, there's not a threat anymore" Jessica answered.

Damon nodded, a little more basic than what he was going for however, she wasn't wrong.

Damon eventually stopped the car and told Jessica to wait where she was whilst he got out and buried the body.

Damon was satisfied that the night hadn't been a complete bust, he now knew that he had to find Johnathan Gilbert's journal from the 1860's to get himself back on track to getting Katherine out of the tomb.

With Stefan's help, he would get the task done quicker.

Damon finished burying Noah's body and made his way back to the car. He got into the driver's seat and looked over at his teenage daughter. He smiled slightly when he noticed that she had fallen asleep in the front seat.

He gently started the car and drove the pair of them home.
