Neb: I do not own Hunter X Hunter
There the karate master was again. An elder man with dark black hair and green eyes. He had large muscles, yet a rounder belly you wouldn't expect someone with his discipline and training to have. The old man was heading out of a popular tower known as Heavens Arena. Minaga put down his binoculars and stood up. "What's the plan Minaga?", asked Yujima. Minaga couldn't believe how close he was so quickly to avenging his old man. Well to be fare, they won't know if the Karate Dojo master killed the blacksmith Mr. Morodasu until he confesses. Aside from that, they know there were five suspicious nen users, yet no motivation. Minaga headed towards the elevator to reach the bottom floor of the apartment they were watching the Dojo Master from.
"The plan is simple," Minaga yawned. "I confront and interrogate him, but should he try and attack me. You will snipe him." Yujima gulped. This was his emitter ability, to fire wind bullets from his guns. They cleared the first couple floors of Heavens Arena the first week they reached the city so they could afford this sniper rifle, but Yujima wasn't sure he had it in him to kill the old man. "Yujima... If you hesitate, I will die." Minaga then closed the elevator and went down stairs with that running through Yujima's mind.
As Minaga got closer to the old man he noticed there were no scratches or bruises on the karate master. Either he was that skilled in fighting or the old man didn't come to this arena to fight. Instead he may have come here to meet with someone. That could be trouble, what if one of the other suspicions Nen users were here. Minaga sat across from the old man at he reached a table. He signaled for the dojo master to sit, who was hesitant, but complied.
"Do I know you?", the old man wondered. Minaga kept his eyes trained on the old man, after all this man knew how to use Nen.
"No," Minaga sighed. "I know you however. I watched as you taught your student Nen when I was young." The dojo master was surprised to here this.
"So you used Zetsu then," the old man realized. "Tell me, what kind of nen user are you?" Minaga didn't respond. "Choosing to keep that information to yourself huh, smart. But also your undoing. You see, an Enhance would have told me right away. So you aren't an Enhancer. You got up close and called me to sit by you, so you aren't an Emitter either. You have determination in your eyes and no fear, so you aren't a Manipulator. So that leaves Transmuter, Conjurer, and Specialist. Your posture changed when I mentioned Transmuter, so that must be what you are. But what do you want with me?"
That was incredible, the old man really did know what he was talking about. Still, did he know Minaga's father. How should Minaga go about bringing up his father. If the old man attacks, he's guilty, then Yujima will snipe him. That seemed the most reasonable thing to happen, if Yujima fails however... No, that is why there are two sons to the Morodasu family. That is why Minaga kidnapped Arisho's friend when they were kids, he didn't want to drag Arisho into his ideals, he wanted his little brother to flourish on his own.
"Answer my question or I'll leave," the old man spoke up.
"Stardust Town," Minaga spoke up. "What was your goal there? Why take up so many pupils, but only train a woman in her thirties and a little girl nen?"
"The Karate Dojo was to pay bills," the old man explained. "A sports martial arts can be used for violence yes, but the main goal my dojo let on was I was keeping the young ones in your town healthy and active. My true goal was to seek out potential hunters. You see, I am part of a recruiting team in the hunter society put together by the Vice Chairman. I can't give a hunters license of course, but I can nudge someone who's more worthy then others in the right direction. That's at least what the vice chairman told me."
"Yet you left town a week after my fath!... after the blacksmith had died," Minaga pointed out.
"I see how suspicious that sounds," the old man admitted. "I assure you though, that I left town for other purposes. My interfering in who becomes a Pro Hunter was a successful mission, so I went back to the Vice Chairmen to file report. My star pupil and Zata will now be moving towards the Hunters exam."
"Well then send me in that direction to," Minaga growled. "I have to question them also."
"You think because you can use nen it makes you worthy to be a Hunter?", the old man laughed. "No, you'd be a threat to society if you got a license. I sensed your intent to kill me as soon as I sat down."
"Have you ever talked to the Blacksmith," Minaga interrogated. "Just one conversation at all. Did you try to recruit him because of his nen capability?"
"I did," the old man admitted. "I wanted him to consider taking the Hunter Exam or becoming a Temp Hunter. We could have use a Blacksmith as skilled as him after all. But he died so... he probably wasn't going to make it through the Exam anyways. The Hunter Exam has no place for weaklings." Minaga stood up angrily and the old man laughed again. "You can't imagine the things I've seen kid. No matter what your ability is, I won't be surprised. The old man stood up now as he became impatient. I don't care that your dad is dead, I don't care if someone I taught killed him. He had his chance and he threw it away." Minaga's Nen flared up and the old man laughed. "I told you, that won't scare me." The old man's own Nen flared up to show the difference in there power. His aura was much bigger and it appeared to shape itself into that of a snake. Minaga felt a presence bring pressure down on his body and willpower. So this was a Pro Hunter. "Now, you run along now and go back to where you came from, or I'll!..."
Minaga looked up as the pressure had stopped. He saw the old man on the ground with a hole in his head as blood squirted out. Yujima did it, he sniped the Dojo Master. Minaga moved away and sighed in relief. So to find the woman and the star pupil he'll have to go to the Hunter Exam. The question was, where was it?"
