"The first round of the Hunter Exam was about to begin. Minaga had laid eyes on his target, the tall woman. She wore a long purple dress and carried a black umbrella that matched her long black hair and black eyes. If anyone seemed menacing enough to be a murderer, it had to of been her. This may have been the only time Minaga got a good look at her as well. Before when he spied on the old Dojo Master, he mainly got a good look at him and the star pupil, but this woman was hidden in the darker area of the dojo. He signalled Yujima telling him to back off for now. Now wasn't the time to strike yet. He had to corner her in a place with no other people. He didn't have to tell Yujima twice, after all his partner was better at sniping then close quarters.
"I suppose we've given enough time," a man spoke up to the crowd of potential hunters. He was a tall muscular man with long blonde hair, green eyes, and tanned skin. He projected a golden aura that was different then anything Minaga had seen before. "I am Agro Munsta! Everyone who has shown up qualifies for the first of the Hunter Exams, anyone who shows up later has already been disqualified."
"A bit harsh," a man with short black spiky hair carrying a white rose and wearing a black suit spoke up. "Afterall, I believe there's still six hours left before the exam begins."
"We are looking for qualified Hunters," the blonde man yelled. "Not last minute attendants." He turned to a large set of double doors and waved for everyone to follow. They did as instructed until they reached a boxing arena.
"I like where this is going," a tall black man with an Afro, wearing a t shirt and gym shorts spoke up. "Are we about to throw down?"
"Not quite," the blonde man laughed. "I appreciate the enthusiasm however." The blonde man stepped in the ring. "Form a line." The crowd of seven hundred people did as instructed. "Please note that you each only get three punches each. You will all come into the arena and face me one at a time."
"Oh come on," A short skinny man yelled. He wore glasses and carried a computer with himself. "That puts the people in the front of the line at a disadvantage."
"If you want go to the back," the blonde man laughed. "It makes no difference." He then had a serious face. "If you bruise me, you pass."
"That's it?", a giant fat man laughed. "One bruise and three punches? What a joke?" The fat man entered the ring and readied himself. Minaga and Yujima used Gyo to see what the blonde man was planning. "Take this!" He swung a punch and connected it with the blonde man's face. The blonde man didn't even budge. "Wh-what?" He swung another to the blonde man's body and the same result occurred. "Son of a!" The fat man put his whole body into the last punch and in that instant, Minaga and Yujima saw the blonde man's aura shape into a hand and block the fat man's punch."
"Transmuter or Enhancer?" Yujima asked Minaga."
"Don't know?", Minaga admitted. "The way he manipulates his nen, makes me think he's a transmuter. However, He could be an enhancer that learned to transmute."
"Next," Agro yelled.
A man with red long hair carrying a katana and had several scars across his face stepped forward.
"He looks scary," Yujima grinned.
"He has low potential," Minaga yawned. "His aura's so low you can barely even see it."
"Maybe he's hiding his potential," Yujima figured.
"I don't think that's the case," Minaga disagreed. "He might be a strong fighter, but he has no knowledge of nen."
As Minaga predicted, the katana wielding warrior was unable to make a single mark on Agro. Agro even yawned, taunting his audience.
"That son of a bitch," A loud man growled as he cut in line. He was a bald man with lots of piercings all over his body. "I'll knock him out right away."
"Stay in line," Yujima ordered.
"What was that?" the loud man yelled back. "I am a warlord you son of a bitch. No one talks to me that way."
"I don't care if your a god damn king," Yujima smirked. "Your not cutting ahead of me."
The piercing man was about to throw a punch at Yujima, but a wall formed in front of Yujima. At least, that's what Minaga thought at first. Then he noticed the blonde man's nen had extended across the room blocking the warlord's punch.
"Two more shots," Agro yelled to the piercing man.
Yujima didn't quite understand what was going on, but he threw a punch back at the loud man and was blocked by Agro's yellow aura as well.
"Two more shots for you as well," Agro called out again.
The piercing man swung a kick at Yujima and was blocked by Agro's aura again. Then he threw a punch, meeting the same result using up all three of his shots.
"Next," Agro yelled.
"Yujima," Minaga whispered. "Use your Nen like I taught you." Yujima nodded and got into his fighting stance.
"Don't bother punching him," Agro yawned. "Come throw a punch at me."
"There's still a few people ahead of me," Yujima pointed out.
"Don't worry about it," the afro man laughed. "I don't mind."
Yujima headed to the front of the line and got in the ring. He then threw a punch with a fist full of Nen at Agro. Agro's Nen was much stronger and it blocked Yujima's punch with ease.
"Dammit," Yujima yelled.
"One more punch," Agro spoke up then get out of my sight.
Yujima wasn't ready to lose so soon. He needed to get his Hunter Badge so he could start his work. He also needed to help Minaga. He took a deep breath as he flashed back to being a child forced to sit up on the mountain as the strong wind blew past him. Minaga was coaching him on how to use the basics of Nen at the same time.
"Don't give up," Kid Minaga pointed out. "Your more powerful then you realize. I can see it in your aura, your naturally gifted. You just need motivation."
Yujima's flashback ended and he was suddenly filled with pride. He threw his last punch at Agro with a fist full of wind and managed to land a punch this time leaving a large bruise on Agro.
"Excellent work. You move on to the next trial," Agro grinned. He highfived Yujima and then readied himself for the next guy in line, Minaga. "I'm not going to lie everyone. Whenever I'm called on as the examiner, only one person usually passes. Looks like fates already decided who that is. I'd suggest you all turn around now."
Minaga made a fist full of nen just like Yujima's, except his was stronger and he wasn't using his wind power. Minaga threw his first punch and landed a body shot on Agro causing the man to gasp in pain.
"What the hell?", Agro grunted.
"Careful," Minaga spoke up. "Your getting too cocky." He walked over to Yujima as everyone in the room stared at him stunned. He wasn't worried about everyone getting a glimpse at he and Yujima's power. After all, Yujima's true strength was as an Emitter, not an enhancer. Not to mention, they still have no clue that Minaga is a wind Nen user as well.
The first exam continued and Agro took a much larger beating then expected. Their was twelve people total who passed the first trial and will move on to the second.
