So I have to thank someone who gave me the will to continue, but I'll have to give some exposition.

I started writing this Fanfic as a coping mechanism as writing was the only thing I hadn't tried, I promised myself years ago that unless there was nothing left that could help I wouldn't kill my self.

I enjoyed writing but it wasn't really helping my mental health then I got covid again, so I was planning on ending it there when I got a review!

So my deepest and greatest thanks to JohnMonty for literally saving my life.

(if you are JohnMonty and you want me to delete any mention of you I will happily comply.)

Noswyl wakes up about fifteen hours later, with an aching shoulder and ear. Walking outside he sees Gregory already awake and sitting by the fire, seemingly contemplating something.

I hope he's feeling better now, though I'll be honest the story wasn't all that bad. I've heard and read worse in my previous life, though if it were to happen to me I'd still probably be torn up by it. But I've always had a hard time putting myself in someone else's shoes.

Noswyl approaches Gregory, Gregory notices him and motions him to sit down with him "so how are you kid, I bet you're hurting quite a bit. Sorry about your ear again, but neither of us could have reattached anyway. We aren't medics after all, we just know how to close wounds in case of emergency."

Noswyl shrugs "ehh I'm not that torn up about it, I suppose it's also too late to reattach it anyway. If it hasn't been eaten by an animal by now." Noswyl says as Gregory waves his wand closing the wound but it still looks rather nasty, but at least it won't get infected.

Noswyl looks around the camp more closely and doesn't see Bartholomew, Gregory notices him looking around and guesses his intentions "Bartholomew sleeps a lot, and he isn't a morning person either. So he's probably going to be asleep for the next few hours."

Noswyl nods in understanding "So what is the plan for you guys?"

Gregory sighs "Bartholomew and I discussed this after you went to your tent, I was... reluctant to go back. And Bartholomew managed to convince me to stay here in the British isles."

Noswyl blinks in surprise. Huh didn't expect that. "What about your family and friends?"

Gregory laughs a bit "oh kid, I don't have any family. And Bartholomew is last friend I have that hasn't gotten killed..."

Noswyl eyes soften "yeah I haven't got anyone either, So what about Bartholomew?"

Gregory looks towards Noswyl in confusion "He failed the mission as well, so he staying as well."

I double didn't expect that "alright I suppose that makes sense, so what have you guys decided to do about me?"

Gregory pats Noswyl on the shoulder "well we've decided to travel with you if you'll have us. We can't just let a child travel alone without at least trying to help them."

Noswyl looks at Gregory and sighs "yeah I guess that makes sense, but you don't even know where I'm heading."

Gregory shrugs again "well it's not like we know where to go from here, so we just decided to accompany you until you get to your destination the figure out something from there."

Fair enough, they don't really know Magical Britain very well so it doesn't really matter where they go as long as they can get information. "Sure that's fine, I'm headed to London. The reason I came here was so I could attend Hogwarts."

Gregory looks at Noswyl weirdly "you mean to tell me, that you broke multiple laws and illegally traveled to another country just to attend a school?"

well when you put it that way it does sound pretty weird but I have good reason "Yeah that's pretty much it."

Gregory and Noswyl start talking to pass the time, and Noswyl learns more about Gregory. Such as that he can speak French, and he played quidditch in school. But most of Gregory's life has been just doing the same work over and over again with small variations, so it's not all that interesting.

Bartholomew finally gets up and exits the tent to see Gregory and Noswyl chatting together, and is surprised as Gregory isn't normal social. But he seems to be enjoying the conversation which is nice to see "you two seem to be becoming fast friends." He says teasingly

Noswyl nods in his direction and Gregory immediately retorts "What are you jealous that Noswyl is better conversation than you?"

Bartholomew laughs good naturedly, before sitting down across from them "So has Noswyl been informed about the plan."

Noswyl nods "I have, and I don't mind you guys traveling with me. It'll be nice to have some company for once." Even if it is my own fault that I haven't made any friends in this life

Quickly dismantling the campsite, they start walking again but because of Bartholomew and Gregory's much larger strides Noswyl has to jog to keep up with them which jostles his arm.

Gregory seeing Noswyl effort to keep up, takes out the broom they have from his pocket as he shrunk it for easier transport. "You seem to be struggling to keep up, just ride this and float next to us." He says enlarging the broom and Handing it to Noswyl

Noswyl grabs the broom and looks at it curiously. I have always thought that Harry Potter brooms were interesting, the charms on them seem like they would be interesting to study. Positioning the broom between his legs. If I remember correctly I just have to kick off the ground. Jumping up and imagining himself hovering works and he quickly flys next to Bartholomew and Gregory's side. "You know I expected that to be harder."

Gregory looks at Noswyl appraisingly "Well for most people it would take more effort but you seem to have talent on a broom, good for you kid."

They continue now and a faster pace as Bartholomew and Gregory don't have to pace themselves to let Noswyl keep up.

Traveling for long periods of time was something all of them were used to doing, so they managed to make it to Newport at 6:30 pm which is good pace.

Noswyl looks towards the small city happy that his assumption that, because it has a sign directing people to it that it would be important. "So this place should have some information on how to get to Britain if it doesn't have one itself, any questions?"

Bartholomew looks amused at Noswyl as it's kind of funny to see someone so young act like an authority figure, but he still does have a question "So what is the plan for dealing with the muggles?"

Noswyl looks at the plainly "my original plan was to just blend in, but with my injuries and you guys strange clothing. You two will have to make us invisible."

Bartholomew and Gregory nod, and Gregory puts a disillusionment spell on all three of them. Bartholomew then uses the Bedazzling Hex on top of that which ironically conceals things. Then looks at Noswyl "this should be enough to hide us from most magicals so, the muggles will never notice us."

Noswyl looks at the Disillusionment spell which is slightly visible from the inside, and it seems to bend light back into itself with a small amount escaping making faint distortions. Hmm this is interesting, but it makes sense I suppose that magic can destroy light. And that's the reason it isn't brighter under the spell.

They start moving through the city eventually finding a map and learning of the train, that leads directly to London.

Noswyl blinks in surprise well that's lucky, I didn't expect that! "This is good news, now we just board the train and go to London, it'll take 3ish hours."

Bartholomew nods "ok that's fine but where do we get some muggle money?"

Noswyl has money in his backpack but pulls out his stolen Debit card "We go around with this and withdraw money from ATMs."

Gregory is looking around at there surroundings making sure no one bumps into them, and Bartholomew nods then looks at Noswyl in the eyes. "So what is that card and what's a ATM?"

Noswyl starts explaining while they go around to the first ATM, where he withdraws the max amount from this ATM and putting in his backpack. Gregory looks at Noswyl questioningly "and where did you obtain a 'debit card'?"

Noswyl recounts the story of when he met the pedophile while looking for another ATM, but Bartholomew stops him when he mentions accidentally killing him "wait you killed somebody?!"

Noswyl nods "well yeah that's what I said, I mean he was a bad person so I don't really care." Noswyl says shrugging and seeing an ATM in the distance

Gregory nods in agreement with Noswyl's logic. While Bartholomew sighs "you're a kid, you shouldn't have to kill somebody."

Noswyl starts with drawing money "well I didn't have to kill him it was an accident, but it doesn't really matter either way."

After some prompting Noswyl explains his escape from the orphanage and his break in at the portkey facility, and Bartholomew in return tells Noswyl about the incident that his break in inadvertently caused. Both stories combined take about an hour, Noswyl doesn't interrupt Bartholomew's story but he still has some questions "So Oliver caused this, and then you two caused a snowball effect that continued until the other Magical societies had to respond?"

Gregory nods "Yeah pretty much kid."

After another 30 minutes they finally drain the card dry, which it only took so long because ATMs are rather rare in this era.

The group go to the train station and Bartholomew the most 'normal' looking person of the group buys three private trains tickets, they were more expensive but it's much better than keeping up the spells for that long.

Boarding the train at 7:37 pm, they are all rather tired.

Bartholomew sets up a Muggle repellent charm on the cabin and sits down on the bench exhausted "We kept those spells up for so long!"

Gregory and Noswyl chuckle at his whining even though they are both tired as well. Noswyl and Gregory sit down as well, Noswyl starts making small talk for about thirty minutes before they all just give up on talking.

man this sucks, thankfully the next time I travel it will be a million times easier... hopefully

2 and a half hours later they all get off the train, and Noswyl directs them to a nearby hotel. Where instead of bothering with acting Gregory just confundused the clerk, no one has the energy to object. Noswyl gives her enough money for a room and some extra for the trouble, taking a key they make their way up to their room.

Noswyl opens the door and lets out a groan "finally we can rest, who's up for sleeping the entirety of tomorrow?"

Bartholomew raises his hand "me, I am exhausted."

Gregory snorts "Yeah no, you two can but I'm go- well actually I'm not on a mission technically so why not."

Bartholomew and Noswyl chuckle and all three of them choose a bed, flop down and go to sleep...
