Chapter 23 Camping Trip Part 1
Saki's POV
The Next Day
We were all at band practice, and were currently taking a break.
"Hey, Saki", Airi started. "Do you have any ideas for what our next Summer vacation activity should be?"
"I do", I replied excitedly. "I wanna go camping in the mountains!"
"Camping in the mountains", Ena asked unenthusiastically.
"Do you not like camping, Ena-Senpai", Ichika asked.
"I've never been", Ena revealed. "But it doesn't seem like it would be my thing. I mean, you have to sleep outside, it'll be super hot, and I doubt that I'll be able to get phone reception there."
"Oh come on, Ena", Airi started. "The whole point of forming this band was to enjoy our youth to the fullest! And sometimes, that means trying new things that are out of your comfort zone!"
"I don't know", Ena said, still uncertain about going.
"I know", I said when I got an idea. "Maybe I can ask my parents if we can rent out a cabin?"
"A cabin", Ena asked.
"That's a good idea, Saki", Airi stated, before looking at Ena. "If the great outdoors becomes too much for you, Ena, you can always just go inside the cabin!"
"Will the cabins have air conditioning", Ena asked.
"I'm sure we can find one that does", I replied.
"Then…", Ena started as she thought about our suggestion. "Okay. I'm in!"
"Yay", I said excitedly. "I'll talk to my parents and see what we can do!"
One Week Later
The day of our camping trip had arrived! And once again, Tsukasa and his group would be joining us.
"You know, you guys really don't need to keep coming with us when we do these trips", Airi stated.
"I am Saki's big brother", Tsukasa exclaimed. "It is my job to ensure that nothing happens to her while she enjoys her youth to its fullest!"
"Thank you so much, Onii-Chan", I said gratefully.
"It must be nice having a big brother looking out for you", Airi stated.
"Yeah", Ena agreed. "I wish my little brother was as enthusiastic when it comes to helping me as your brother is, Saki."
"Anyway", Akito started. "Has everyone packed everything that they need for the trip?"
"Yes", Tsukasa replied. "Which means that we can begin making our way to the campsite! Everyone, to the van my father rented!"
...
After a bit of a long trip, we finally arrived at our campsite.
"Here we are", Tsukasa announced happily as he gestured towards the cabins we had rented.
"Are all three of these cabins for us", Airi asked.
"That's right", Tsukasa replied. "My and Saki's parents will stay in one, me and my group will stay in another, and you girls will stay in the other one."
"Then what are we waiting for", Ena asked as she picked up her suitcase. "Let's get inside! I'm melting out here!"
...
We were currently inside the cabin and unpacking our stuff.
"Thank goodness that we got a cabin that has air conditioning", Ena said in relief. "Plus, it has wifi!"
"Saki", Ichika started. "Have you thought about what activities you'd like do while we're here?"
"You bet", I replied. "Before we went on the trip, I went to the campsite's official website and looked up all the activities you can do!"
"Anything catch your eye", Airi asked.
"Yep", I replied. "There's a lake here that's perfect for swimming in!"
"A lake", Ichika asked. "Will you be okay with that, Saki? After all, you're not the best swimmer."
"Don't worry, Ichi-Chan", I reassured. "I'll make sure to stick to the shallow side of the lake!"
"Well, if that's the case, then swimming in the lake sounds wonderful!"
