Chapter 27 Composing a Song
Saki's POV

As soon as I got home, I began trying to work on an original song. However, things were not going the way I hoped they would.

I sat down deep in thought in front of my synthesiser, hoping that I'd get an idea, but nothing was coming to me!

"This is hopeless", I yelled out in frustration. "I'm not getting any ideas!"

My outburst seemed to get my brother's attention, because he burst into my room a moment later!

"What's wrong, Saki", he asked in concern. "Is everything okay?! Your big brother is here to save you!"

"I'm okay, Onii-Chan", I reassured him. "I'm sorry that I scared you. I'm just having some trouble with something."

"What are you having trouble with", Tsukasa asked. "Maybe I can help?"

"Ichi-Chan suggested that we make an original song for our music video", I revealed. "I'm going to compose it, and she's going to write the lyrics."

"An original song", Tsukasa asked. "That's sounds wonderful, Saki! I can't wait to hear it!"

"Well", I started. "If I can't come up with any ideas, then there's not going to be a song for you to listen too!"

"You're struggling to come up with ideas", Tsukasa asked.

"Yeah", I replied. "I tried listening to some songs from other bands to get some inspiration, but when I tried coming up with my own song, nothing came to me!"

"I see", Tsukasa said.

"Do you have any ideas, Onii-Chan", I asked.

"I've never composed a song before, so I'm not sure if I can help you, Saki."

After Tsukasa said this, he suddenly seemed to get an idea.

"I know", he exclaimed. "Why don't you talk to Toya?"

"Toya-Kun", I asked. "How can he help?"

"You see, Saki", Tsukasa started. "Toya has actually composed some songs for our group to perform."

"He has", I asked excitedly. "In that case, I'll call and ask him to meet with me!"

The Next Day

I was waiting for Toya at a café, and after waiting for a bit, he walked up to my table.

"Sorry I'm late, Saki-San", he apologised. "Our practice ran for longer than we originally planned."

"That's okay, Toya-Kun", I reassured him. "Thank you so much for agreeing to meet with me."

"Of course. You're Tsukasa-Senpai's younger sister. I'm honoured to be of assistance to you, Saki-San."

After Toya said this, he sat down on the opposite side of the table.

"So, let us get to the purpose of this meeting", he said. "Have you still been unable to come up with any ideas for your song?"

"Yeah", I replied sadly. "No matter how hard I think, no ideas seem to come to me."

"I had the same problem when I tried to compose my first song", Toya revealed.

"You did", I asked. "How'd you overcome that?"

"The reason why I couldn't think of an idea for a song is because…I didn't know who I was making it for", Toya revealed.

"Who you were making it for", I asked.

"Yes", Toya replied. "I needed to figure out who I wanted to 'deliver my sound' too. And after thinking about it for some time, I realised that person was Akito."

"Akito-Kun", I asked.

"He is my partner", Toya pointed out. "I wouldn't be where I am today without him. I wanted to thank him for that somehow, and I decided to do that with my song."

"I see", I said.

Then, I smiled.

"Thank you so much, Toya-Kun", I said. "I think I know where to begin now!"

I was now back in my room, sitting in front of my synthesiser once more.

"Okay, let me think. Who do I want to 'deliver my sound' to."

After I asked myself this, I closed my eyes and began thinking of my answer.

Ichi-Chan, Airi-Senpai, Ena-Senpai. Ever since I started a band with them, we've gotten to do so many fun things together.

After I thought this, It felt like a lightbulb went off in my head, and I quickly opened my eyes.

"I've got it!"
