She walked into her apartment and set her purse on the small table next to the front door. She removed the picture of the two of them and sat down on the couch. She traced her finger over his face her emotions all jumbled. She knew that Dr. Jami was right and she needed to confront him to get some closure otherwise she would never be able to go on with her life and find someone else to date and maybe eventually marry. But he had a hold on her heart and had ever since they had started dating. She knew now that he didn't love her that he had never loved her-if certain activities were any indication. But she had been reluctant to end things because she had held out hope that maybe one day he would love her as much as she loved him.
But alas that wasn't meant to be. Their breakup still hurt to this day even though it had been nearly two years. She knew of course the only way to lessen the hurt was to tell him how much he had hurt her. She could just go on over to his house and confront him there or call him up and have him meet her someplace. The only thing that mattered was that she did it. Take the band aid off and swallow the nasty tasting medicine.
Otherwise he would always have a hold on her.

"Dad, you can't leave!" Sam protested sitting on his bed.
'Why not?" Tony got his suitcase and duffle bag out of the closet and began shoving his clothes into them. He removed all his awards from the wall and put them in too.
"Because this is your home!" Sam threw her hands in the air.
Tony shook his head. "No, it isn't. Mona is right, I don't have a legal claim to the house."
"Wait a minute! What about when Mona's Mother wanted you to sign a prenuptial agreement? Didn't it come up then?"
"Yeah, it did but when we realized that Mrs. Reynolds was only manipulating us; we dropped the whole thing. And yes we did talk later about things and Angela said she was going to put my name on the deed so I would have legal rights but we never got around to it."
"Why?"
Tony shrugged. "We got busy. Me with school and Angela with work. We thought we had all the time in the world." At those words Tony choked up and ran his hand over his eyes.
"Oh Dad." Sam stood up and put her arms around him.
"And I don't deserve to stay here-not after what I have done. Although it kills me that I have to leave."
"You don't have to! Look, just talk to Mona and Jonathan!"
"I can't. It wouldn't do any good. They're hurting and I'm the cause of it."
"Okay, so you did a stupid thing. But that doesn't mean you should be kicked out of the house!"
"They're hurting Sam." Tony said again.
"Well so are you! So am I! This is when we should all be together!"
Tony sighed and kissed her on the top of the head. He went into his bathroom and gathered his toiletries and put them in his duffle bag.
"Where are you going to go?"
"I don't know. I have some money saved. I'll probably stay in a hotel for a few days. It's too bad I decided not to join that fraternity otherwise I could stay there."
Sam shook her head. "This isn't right. Angela would hate this! Yeah, I know she was probably angry with you but she would never throw you out. "
"Maybe. Maybe not. But she isn't here because of me and Mona has every right to do this if she wants."
"Dad…"
"Sam please no more."
Sam sighed but nodded.
"Okay, well I guess this is it. I'll uh be down in a minute. I just need a few …ummm… moments… to…"
Sam smiled sadly. "Okay Dad."
She left the room and Tony looked around. He had spent the last eight years of his life here and now because of his stupidity he was leaving it. He would do anything to stay but he knew he deserved to be kicked out. After what he had done? After he had lied to Angela not once but twice he had no one to blame but himself.
"Goodbye room." He said softly and closed the door behind him.
He crossed over to Angela's room and opened the door. He knew he would probably never get another chance so he had to take the opportunity now. He went in and sat down on her bed inhaling the sweet scent that was uniquely her. He looked around the room, memorizing every nook and cranny. He had wanted a million times to suggest that they remodel since the room reflected a single woman and he knew she would have wanted to make him comfortable. He had so many ideas.
Putting the bed by the bathroom so when you walk in you saw the full expanse of the bed.
A Fireplace
Maybe a window seat?
But he never had and now he never could. And all because Angela was God knows where probably hurt, confused, and scared.
And it was all his fault.
He sighed and stood up and looked around the room once more. They should have-they could have spent the rest of their lives here happily married, making love, curling up in bed telling each other about their day. But now it would be all alone.
Like they both were.
"Goodbye room." He said softly tears welling up in his eyes. He closed her door and picked up his suitcase and duffle bag that he had dropped in the hall. He went back down the stairs where Sam was arguing with Mona and Jonathan.
"Come on! Dad is hurting too! We all are!"
"Oh you're breaking my heart!" Jonathan said.
"Well, I'm all packed."
"Good. Then you can get your lying ass out of here." Mona waved him away like he was an annoying house fly.
"Yeah, good riddance!" Jonathan told him.
Sam looked between the three of them. She had to do something! She knew no matter how angry Angela would be she would never throw her Dad out in the streets.
'Think Samantha! Think!'
Then it came to her. The perfect solution.
"I got an idea everyone! It's the perfect solution!"

Jeremy, Kate, and Barbara all looked at each other. The patient-whoever she was looking at them in desperation. The truth was thought that no one had been as far as they knew. Of course the clinic was in a remote area and so it was possible.
"No, no one has." Barbara told her.
"But…. no one has? I mean don't I have a husband? Or children? What about my parents? Any siblings?!" Angela asked in frustration.
"Do you..do you think you're married?" Jeremy asked, thinking of the ring and the necklace that were in a box locked in his desk drawer.
Angela shook her head. "I don't know! I don't know anything! She looked at her ring finger on her left hand but it was empty.
"Look, don't despair. We are here to help you." Kate told her.
"I know and I appreciate it. But, I have this empty feeling inside me. It's like I'm a piece of a puzzle and the other pieces are just there waiting for me to complete them."
"Maybe you do have a husband and children." Barbara said.
"Yeah, and they'll probably all confused and scared. They don't know where I am…Oh my God! What if they think I'm dead? Maybe that's why they're not looking for me! They gave up hope!"
"No! No way! If you were my wife there is no way I would ever give up looking for you!" Jeremy said hotly.
Angela, Kate, and Barbara all looked at him in shock.
"Ummm sorry about that. I just meant that you shouldn't give up hope."
"He's right." Barbara assured her. "Look, right now I know things seem bleak. But we can talk about things and maybe something will come back to you. It could be something as simple as a tv show, a movie, or maybe a certain sound. "
"Yeah, you never know you might get lucky." Kate said.
'You never know Mom! You might get lucky! Uh… whatever that means.'
Angela heard a voice in her head but just as quickly as it popped in it popped right out.
But she had heard the word Mom.
Which meant that she did have a child out there.
And she would do everything in her power to get back to them.

Kate entered her apartment and put the groceries she had bought on the kitchen table. She started unpacking, putting the milk, juice, butter, ham, cheese, and eggs in the refrigerator. She then put the peanut butter, grape jelly, a couple cans of soup, some crackers, a package of Oreos, and some oatmeal in the cupboard. She pulled out a loaf of bread and sat it on the counter.
"Okay, I got everything you asked for including a few word finds. And I went to the Library and checked out some books for you." She said to the figure lying on her couch.
"Thank you Kate."
"You're welcome Laura."
