Jordan- 1

Little Jordan was now a year old, Hank couldn't believe it. It just seemed as if yesterday she was placed in his arms and now she was a year old. The pain of losing Anna was slowly healing but felt raw at times.

It was October which meant a couple of things. One, Fall weather. It had started to get chilly out. Two, Halloween was approaching. Hank had wanted to wait till Jordan was at least a year before taking her out. He wouldn't keep her out very long. His son had his own plans.

On Halloween day he had taken off to be with his daughter, it hurt. He wished Anna would be with him. Jordan stood in her crib on her small little legs as Hank went to check on her. He peeked in with a smile on his face.

"Good morning sweetheart"

"Dada," Jordan smiled reaching out of her crib.

He plucked her from the crib and held her close to his chest and bounced her gently and stroked back her hair. He managed to change her diaper quickly and put some clean clothes on her. She grabbed his collar and chewed on it, she was still getting some teeth in.

"Let's go get you something to eat then go to the park"

She smiled and clapped. "Ark"

"Close sweetheart"

He took his daughter downstairs and made her a small bowl of cereal and got her some water in a sippy cup. By the end of it Jordan had the cereal and milk all over herself making Hank chuckle.

He took her back to change her then packed a diaper bag and took her to the park. He left the bag in the car and brought her out carrying her. He brought her to the baby swing and slid her in it, he then slowly pushed it. The movements made the little girl smile and giggle.

"You having fun sweetheart" Hank loved seeing his daughter smile. It was like looking at Anna.

She clapped proudly. After the swing Hank took her around and played on the small playground with her. Soon it was the early afternoon and Jordan grew tired. Hank had known it was time for her nap. He took her back to the car and strapped her back in the car seat she was just about out.

During the drive Jordan was fast asleep in the car seat and Hank drove with a small smile on his face. He arrived back home and carried his sleeping daughter in and took her to her room laying her down.

Hank had taken this time to do small house chores, once they had been done he made dinner so they could eat before they went out. He then went to grab Jordan's costume. About a half hour later Jordan had been cooing and Hank heard it from the baby monitor.

The older father went up to his daughter's room to see her standing in her crib making noises but mostly giggling.

"Is the baby awake?" Hank asked softly.

She reached out for her father and he walked over to her and picked her up. "Time for something to eat then we'll get ready for trick or treating"

The little girl gave a toothy grin as Hank took her downstairs and sat her in the high chair. He fed her what he could of the small dish he made for her. She took her bottle and drank some juice. Hank had eaten what he could.

Soon it was getting late in the evening and Hank had gotten his daughter ready to go out. Trudy found a baby dalmatian costume. He looked at it and knew it would be perfect. Grabbing the costume he quickly dressed his daughter leaving some warm clothes on her due to the chilly air. The outfit had a small hood for her head and he pulled it up and the hood had the dog ears.

Jordan looked at it smiling. "Ruff ruff"

"You are the cutest little puppy ever" Hank slightly tickled her chin.

Soon the father and daughter were off, when people passed by him and they saw Jordan they had gushed over her. As he walked with his young daughter eventually he met up with Alvin who had been taking Lexi around. Lexi had been dressed as a vampire.

"Hank, hey" Alvin says. "And who's this little pup? Is this little Jo"

Jordan smiled seeing her uncle, Hank looked down at his goddaughter. "I love your costume Lexi"

"Thank you Uncle Hank"

"You guys wanna join us?" Hank asked.

"Absolutely" Alvin told his friend.

The now small group went to a house and Hank had let Jordan walk with Lexi, the young Olinsky girl held her cousin's hand as they walked up. Lexi knocked and the door opened.

"Trick or treat"

"Oh aren't you two adorable" The lady says.

She dropped candy into each of the girls bags, Lexi helped her cousin down the stairs. Jordan moved as fast as her small legs would take her to her father. Hank bent down to her level and picked her up.

"Did you get candy honey?"

"Ruff ruff"

He and Alvin both chuckled. They continued when they saw one house decorated up and some of the stuff had scared Jordan. She pouted and whimpered, When Hank heard it he bounced her.

"It's alright sweetheart. Daddy and Uncle Alvin will keep you safe"

The small group had hit a few more houses, Jordan was fast asleep as her father carried her. Hank and Alvin shook hands going their separate ways. Hank walked home with his now sleeping daughter.

When he laid his daughter down that night he knew even without Anna, it had been a good night for them. It was one of many holidays that would hurt without her but Hank would find a way to make it work and make his daughter happy.
