Jordan- 5

It was everyone's favorite time of the year, Christmas time. This year Jordan had wanted to get her father something special. The only problem was she didn't know what to get him. If anyone knew Hank he was a hard man to shop for, nobody had ever known what to get him. The one Christmas he'll always remember was when Anna had told him she was pregnant with their daughter. That would always be his favorite gift.

The small five-year-old had gone to her older brother who had been watching tv, she climbed on the couch next to her brother looking up at him.

"Justie" Jordan said softly.

"Yes my little Jo Jo" Justin replies, wrapping an arm around his beloved sister.

"I don't know what to get daddy for Christmas. What should we get him?"

That was even a tough question for Justin, he'd been his father's son for so long he still didn't know what to do for his father or what to get him for Christmas. He was a hard man to shop for.

"I don't know, kiddo. I'm sure we can find something"

Justin had taken his sister out to a couple of stores and they browsed for a while but couldn't find anything. Jordan saw a book, it was a photo album. She picked it up and was getting an idea. The elder man had looked down at his sister.

"Whatcha looking at Jo Jo?"

"I found this" She held up the photo album.

Seeing it had actually been giving him an idea. "We can make him a scrapbook"

It had made the small girl scrunch up her face in confusion. "What's a scrapbook?"

"It's like a photo album but you can add more to it and you can keep adding to it"

"Let's make that for daddy"

"Let's find a book big enough"

They had browsed the book section till they found a big enough book, it was a wooden book frame and inside was filled with paper. The paper was thin. After inspecting the book Justin had seen it was perfect for their project.

"I think we have our book. Now when we get home we fill it with a whole bunch of pictures, some of your best drawings, and we can write stuff in the book"

"Can we add pictures of my mommy?"

"I think we can definitely do that"

Once they got the book they went back home, thankfully their father was at work for the moment so they would be able to make up the scrapbook. Justin knew his father's stuff was off limits but he knew it would be worth it in the end. He went and grabbed some pictures that his father had taken with Anna before his sister was born. He had found some with his father, Anna and his baby sister.

He had even found some older ones of his parents together, some with him and his parents together. The elder man knew these would be perfect to put in the book. Jordan was drawing some pictures to put in the book. Once the two siblings had gathered everything they would need they had started at the beginning of the book.

It had taken the two siblings a while to finish the book but when it was finished, they had left a lot of the pages blank so they would be able to add to it over time. Jordan clapped her hands and held them tightly.

"It's perfect!"

Justin kissed his sister's head. "Yeah it is kiddo, now we gotta wrap it"

The two had begun wrapping the book, Justin had done the majority of the wrapping but had let his sister put the tape on. After the book was wrapped the small five-year-old had taped a tag onto it that she had made herself.

"All done. Now daddy will love it"

"I'm sure he will kiddo"

Soon enough it was Christmas day, white fluffy snow had fallen from the sky and it was freezing outside. Inside the Voight home, Hank and Justin watched Jordan open gift after gift, the floor was full of toys and clothes. Justin had cleaned up the torn wrapping paper from the floor, there was one more gift under the tree and it was to Hank from his children.

Hank wasn't the type to really ask for anything, he could tell you he had everything he needed. As long as he had his children and they were happy, healthy, and safe. That was all he could ask for.

Jordan pulled the book out from under the tree and went climbing in her father's lap handing it to him. "Merry Christmas daddy, this is from me and Justin"

The older father had smiled. "You guys didn't have to get me anything"

"We made you something, open it"

Keeping the smile on his face Hank had torn the paper off completely till he saw the book. Jordan opened the front of the book and the first few pictures were of Hank and his first wife, Camille. When they had gotten married, when they had Justin. It had led up till she had died.

Soon she got to the ones where it was of Hank and her mother, Anna. It had started from the moment of their relationship. Justin had found a few of Hank, Anna and Jordan till when Anna died. The rest of the book was filled with Jordan's small drawings and pictures of Hank with his children and the rest of the pages remained empty.

At that moment Hank had felt his heart could burst open. This had been the second most amazing gift he could have ever gotten. He closed the book and held his two children close.

"Thank you, both of you. This was one of the best gifts ever" Hank told his children.

"Merry Christmas Pop" Justin hugged his father.

"Merry Christmas daddy" Jordan hugged him as well.

Hank smiled as a couple of tears leaked from his eyes, he had the most amazing thoughtful kids ever. And he couldn't have asked for more.
