Jordan- 8
It was a hot summer day and it was a real scorcher. Hank had the day off, all his cases had been closed, he wasn't due to testify in court for at least a week. He now had a day to just be with his little girl, he let his son go be with his friends. His son needed a break.
Hank was gonna take his daughter to the pool for the day, Jordan had just finished putting on her pink princess bathing suit. She covered her suit with clothes, she slipped on a pair of jean shorts and a tank top. While her father was getting their bag together there had been a knock on the door and she went to open it.
Thinking it was her sister she opened it about to greet her but instead it was a tall man with a buzzed type hair cut, the hair he did have was a dark color. Almost dark brown. His eyes were a sparkling blue color. The man was wearing a simple suit, a dark blue dress shirt with a matching blazer, dark slacks, and dark dress shoes.
The man was Detective Elliott Stabler, he was Hank's cousin. They hadn't seen each other in years. They had been related on Hank's mother's side of the family. The two men were close as kids but hadn't seen or spoken to each other since Elliott went back to New York.
Elliot smiled at the young girl, he had four kids of his own. He always had a soft spot for kids, he bent down to her level with a soft smile. Elliott only heard that Hank had his son, Justin. He had no idea that he had a daughter.
"Hi, I'm Elliott. What's your name?" Elliott's voice was soft.
"I'm Jordan," She replied nervously.
"Hi Jordan, are your mom or dad home?"
"Daddy it's for you!"
Hank came to the door with the bag over his shoulder, he was wearing a loose white tank top and shorts. His dark sunglasses resting on his forehead. Just as he was about to say anything he froze seeing his cousin.
Elliott stood to his full height, he was indeed surprised that his cousin had a young daughter. He smiled seeing him.
"Good to see you Hank" Elliott says.
"Elliott, what a nice surprise it's been years since I've seen you. I was what 8 when you all came out here last" Hank says to his cousin.
He chuckled. "Just about that"
Hank and Elliot were only a year apart, Elliott was born and raised in New York but his parents brought him to Chicago every so often to visit. They had stopped after Hank was 8 and Elliott was 7. After they had grown they tried to reconnect but couldn't. Elliott had eventually enlisted in the Military and started a family at 17 with his wife Kathy. Hank had followed in his father's footsteps and became a cop and had his own family as well.
"I see you met my daughter, Jordan. Jo, sweetheart, this is my cousin, Elliott. He lives in New York. He's a detective like me"
Jordan smiled shyly at him. "Hi"
The other detective returned the smile. "It's nice to meet you Jordan"
"Sweetheart, why don't you go pack some juices for the pool while Elliott and I talk" Hank says to his daughter.
Jordan nodded and went to the kitchen, Hank had then turned to his cousin.
"What's wrong? Is everything ok?" His voice lowered.
"I need your help"
