Jordan- 8
Hank had taken his daughter to the pool as promised, he gave his cousin some different clothes so he wouldn't bake in the brutal heat wave. Elliott had changed into the outfit and he was indeed grateful. He had changed into a light gray tank top and a pair of shorts.
The three had gone to the community pool and went to the shaded area, Hank set the bag and cooler down. Before Jordan could run out into the pool her father had stopped her.
"I don't think so little lady, you need sunscreen so you don't get burned" Hank tells his daughter.
She giggled slightly. "Sorry daddy, I forgot"
Hank had grabbed the bottle of sunscreen from the bag, popping the top off he squeezed some of the lotion in his hand then started putting it on his daughter. Jordan giggled and squirmed around at the coldness but eventually she was covered in the lotion. She slipped out of her tank top and shorts and showed her pink Disney Princess bathing suit.
Sliding out of her flip flops she went to the pool and jumped into the cool water. Hank smiled watching his daughter, Elliot had also smiled at the young girl. Her excitement reminded him of how his daughters were when they were Jordan's age.
"She's adorable Hank, I didn't know you had a daughter," Elliott says.
"A lot of people don't know about her, It's to protect her" Hank replies.
"Where's her mother?"
Hank stayed quiet, it wasn't Elliott's fault he didn't know about Anna. Elliott had taken the silence as an answer he didn't want.
"I'm sorry Hank"
"It's not your fault. So what do you need help with?"
"My team in New York, we're tracking a serial rapist and it looks like he slipped out of the city and made his way out here to Chicago. We don't know if he has a partner or family out here helping him. I figured since this is your city, you'd be able to help track him"
"I'm not in the type of unit that you're in but I will help you. Nobody like that is gonna come into my city and cause any terror"
"I really appreciate the help Hank, I really do"
"Any time"
Suddenly Elliott's phone rang, he thought it was his Captain or another member of his team but instead it was an unknown blocked caller.
"Stabler" He answered as casually as he could.
"Detective Stabler, I'm giving you one chance and only one. Drop the case now and walk away. If you don't, the consequences will be deadly. You wouldn't want anything to happen to that beautiful little girl you're watching as she swims are you? That gorgeous pink bathing she's wearing, such a little beauty"
That had caused the middle aged Detective to sit up fully and scan around the area of the pool trying to find where this bastard is watching them and Jordan.
"You sick bastard if you-"
"I wouldn't make any threats, Detective, aside from the little beauty. You wouldn't want any harm to come to your cousin now would you? He looks a little old. He should retire and focus on being a parent. First and only warning, drop the case or suffer the consequences. Your choice Stabler. If you don't drop the case by the end of today, the consequences will be deadly"
Before Elliott could get another word out the phone had gone out. Hank had looked at him with a concerned look.
"You look like you've seen a ghost, what was that call about?" Hank asked.
"We need to get Jordan and get out of here," Elliott told him urgently.
"Elliott what's going on?"
"This case just took a turn"
Outside of the pool was a man inside an unmarked white van, from the driver seat he was watching the pool and taking pictures of Hank, Elliott and Jordan. He was taking all sorts of pictures of the three. Hank and Elliott talking, Jordan swimming in the pool and Hank getting her out of the pool. After getting what he needed he had taken off.
