Chapter 2: What must be done.

*Zora's garage*

Luna was sobbing uncontrollably after telling team 5ds what happened earlier. "You mean Leo vanished?" asked Jack. "Y-yeah, he was dueling Lester and when he tried to protect me he disappeared" replied Luna. Akiza then knelt down and hugged her "I'm so sorry Luna". Luna just began to try harder "Leo warned me, he told me Lester was bad news and I ignored him! And because of that he's gone." said Luna in between sobs. Yusei knelt down next to Luna, "It's not your fault Luna, what happened to Leo was Lester's doing, not yours.". Luna didn't feel much better, after all Leo played that card that directed Lester's attack to him, if only she wasn't a horrible duelist then Leo wouldn't have needed to protect her, thought Luna. Crow then said "Just remember, we're here for you, and we will get Leo back, somehow. If there's anything you need let us know". Luna slightly felt better knowing that her friends can possibly get Leo back. Later that day Luna was by herself in the kitchen of her mansion sitting at the table. As she was sitting there thinking about what happened she then had an idea, she was going to make Lester pay for what he did to her brother. Luna then went upstairs to get some new cards to add to her deck.

Luna kept making various combinations to her deck but no matter what she did, she wasn't satisfied with how the deck came out, she wanted to ensure the deck guaranteed her victory against Lester the next time she faces him, as she continued to mix and match cards into various decks she then got another idea, perhaps a good way to ensure victory against Lest, is to learn how to become better than him in every conceivable way. And she knew just who to ask to help her do that.

*Domino city 4 days later*

Leo woke up and sighed, he was still in the past and it wasn't a dream. Although grateful for Gerald's help, he wanted to be home trying to find out how to stop Iliaster, and plus he didn't belong here either. Leo walked downstairs and saw Gerald in the living room watching TV. "Did you here the news? Some guy is stealing people's rare cards and putting them in coma's". Leo looked confused seeing as none of that made sense "What?". Gerald sighed, "Nevermind kid, forget I said anything, it's probably just a hoax to scare people.". Leo then put on his jacket "I'm going for a walk, if you don't mind". "Go ahead" responded Gerald, "Y'know it's a nice day outside, maybe I'll take a walk later too". Leo smiled and nodded.

Leo then exited the house and began walking down the street trying to at least make his predicament more pleasant. As he continued walking he noticed two guys playing duel monsters on the ground. "they aren't using duel disks. But then again duel disks are expensive and I guess it's not unheard of to play on the ground" thought Leo, he continued walking. "I summon Sujin" said one of the duelists. Leo then paused, he then walked up and looked at the Suijin card, it was level 7. "Don't you need to tribute two monsters to tribute summon that?" asked Leo. "What's a tribute summon?" asked the duelist, The other duelist then says "We've been playing this game for a while kid, we've never heard of any tribute summon.". Leo then realized that he was sent REALLY far back in time, far enough to where even the tribute summon mechanic hadn't been invented. "O-oh sorry, you're playing duel monsters. I thought you were playing a different game" lied Leo as he quickly got out of there. "Weirdo" remarked one of the duelists. "Eh, who cares, lets continue" said the other duelist.

Leo then saw the game shop owned by Solomon Muto. "Well I did always want to see it for myself", thought Leo as he walked up and entered the card shop. "Why hello there young man" greeted Solomon Muto as Leo entered. Leo smiled and waved back to Solomon as he explored the game shop, Leo looked in awe at the cards on display, sure the cards in his time would pretty much steamroll all these cards but there was something about them, they were some of the first cards in all of duel monsters. "Feral imp, Hintatsu mi giant, Winged dragon, guardian of the fortress!" said Leo in awe. "My, my, my, you sure know your cards" said Solomon. Leo smiles at him "Thanks, and yeah I know a lot about duel monsters, I have quite a few cards. They've very special to me". After a while there Leo decided to head home. "It was nice meeting you Solomon" says Leo as he exits the shop. Solomon waved goodbye but then paused "Wait how did he know my name?" said Solomon talking to himself. Solomon thought none of it.

Leo began walking back to Gerald's place, as he got there he noticed someone at the front door, he was wearing dark robes and had a weird scale. Leo rushed over there "Hey what's going on?" asked Leo. The rare hunter turned to Leo "Beat it kid, this has nothing to do with you". The rare hunter then turned back to Gerald, "Listen here Mr. King, I know you're working with Pegasus, I saw ya in the newspaper. And since you work with him you probably have some rare cards on your hands!". Leo was scared but he steeled his spine "Leave us alone creep! He doesn't have any cards". The rare hunter turns to Leo and shoves him to the ground "I told you to beat it, kid! And I guess you don't know, this man works with Pegasus to create new cards. So it only makes sense he has some cards on him!". Leo got up, he was in a bit of pain but that didn't matter, "I know, but I live with him. And trust me he doesn't have any cards on him". The rare hunter narrowed his eyes, "Well then I guess you are useless to me Mr. King.". He then held up the scale he was carrying, "Tell me Mr. King, do you know what this is?". Before Gerald could respond the rare hunter interrupted him, "This is called the Millennium Scale, it can send people to a place called the shadow realm, and since you don't have anything I want, you're going there!". "M-Millennium item!" Leo said as his eyes widened. The rare hunter smirked, "So ya know what this thing is, do you?". Leo knew of it because when he was studying about Yugi there was a lot of other things that he and class learned, including these so-called magical artifacts called the Millennium items, "Y-yeah I know them! B-but Millennium item or no, I'm not gonna let you hurt him!". Gerald's eyes widened "Kid, you don't-", "Shut up" the rare hunter then hit Gerald in the face with the Millennium Scale, knocking him onto the floor. He then turned to Leo, "How about a little duel kid, you win I leave you and Mr. King alone, and hell I'll even release all my victims from the shadow realm as well. But if you lose you both go to the shadow realm!". Leo began shaking, he wanted to flee, but something within him made him decide to stay, "I accept!" says Leo.

Leo reached into his pocket but realized his deck wasn't in there, he then realized left it in his other pants. "What's the matter kid, don't have a deck?" said the rare hunter mockingly. Gerald then got up "I'll duel you then!". "No, that deal states that the kid here needs to duel me, not you!". Gerald then looked at Leo and sighed, "take this deck Leo". Gerald handed Leo the deck and the rare hunter led them to a warehouse, the warehouse had a duel arena. Leo and the rare hunter got onto the opposite sides of the duel arena and placed their decks on the slots. Leo took a deep breath, he prayed that he could defeat the rare hunter. Gerald looked at Leo and said "You can do it Leo.". His words eased Leo's heart as he stared at the rare hunter, a determined expression on his face. Unknown to both of them, watching from the distance was Shadi, to him this duel will determine who was worthy to become the wielder of the millennium scale.

*Industrial Illusions HQ*

Two security guards were keeping guard of a room marked: Database. "Eh, this job is boring, I wish we had some action" said the younger guard. The older guard payed no mind. In the hallway they saw a man wearing a business suit, it looked normal but upon closer inspection the suit looked very advanced, the two didn't know this was the Agent. "I need to see the Database room" said the Agent. The older guard groaned "look buddy, cough up some clearance or get lost.". The agent showed a keycard, the two guards inspected it and it was legit. "Alright then Mr ... uh, Jack Rights, your card has been cleared, go on in" said the younger guard. The agent nodded and went inside. The agent went to a central server in the room, suddenly wires from the agent's mouth, eyes, and fingers emerged and connected to various outlets on the server's console scanning all files. After a few minutes of this he completed his scan, none of the scans mentioned a proposal for the Enter-D reactor, so the agent did another scan, this time for another database, which he located on a certain island. "The optimal time for a strike is during duelist kingdom. I can search the database with less scrutiny then." said the agent. He then turned to walk out, as he walked out the younger guard spoke up, "Hey Jack, what were ya doin in there?", The agent just ignored him and continued to walk out seeing no purpose even wasting any more of its time on him.

The agent walked into a dark alley and then opened a transmission with Paradox, "Agent have you located the proposal?" asked Paradox. "As of now no, however I request a few drones to help narrow my search. I plan on infiltrating Pegasus's duelist kingdom tournament to search the rest of the database, I need drones to draw any suspicion away from me". Paradox nodded "We'll send you a few drones when the time comes."

*Pegasus's office*

Pegasus was writing on a few documents on his desk when his secretary comes in. "Pegasus sir, there's been an intrusion". Pegasus raised an eyebrow "Whatever do you mean?", The secretary began to sweat "A few minutes ago our firewall detected a breach in security before it stopped, something has scanned all of our files in a few seconds.". "Was anything stolen?" responded Pegasus. "No nothing has been stolen, it appears whatever it was opened all the files but took nothing. The two on duty security guards said that a man named Jack Rights entered the room, he had proper clearance and documentation to access the room. Footage of the building however has been scrubbed completely so we can't figure out Jack's appearance, whoever he was, he knew exactly how to pull off what he did" said the secretary. Pegasus nods "Double security and call the authorities if this Jack Rights returns. Are you sure nothing was stolen?". "We've checked three times, nothing was stolen" replied the Secretary, "Whatever this Jack Rights was looking for, we didn't have it".
