Here's the bonus chapter! It's of Melinda, Dick, and Jason playing Clue.
GSOG Chapter 39 Bonus
"Ok, Mellie." She rolls and gets nine. She grabs her piece and moves nine spaces, which brings her to the Ballroom. She hums as she thinks, looking at her list of suspects… She has Mustard and Peacock, so it could be Green, White, Plum, or Scarlett, but she's not gonna accuse herself, right? She could, just to be funny.
"I accuse myself." She puts a lot of energy into the myself part. "With, the dagger, in the Ballroom cuz well, I'm there." She then bites her lip a bit as she realizes she has Ballroom marked down… So that means neither of them have it, which means, maybe one of the other two have something maybe? No way she got it on her first shot. Dick looks at his evidence and slides a card over, it's the dagger!
"So, I don't share my evidence because you shared yours, right?" Jason asks, though he doesn't have Mrs. White, or the Ballroom, or the dagger, he just wants to ask, which makes Melinda think he must have Mrs. White, because she has Ballroom.
"Right." Dick says, which he has Mrs. White too, so that means Jason probably has the Ballroom if he's asking about it, not knowing Melinda just messed up.
"Ok. My turn?" Jason asks. Dick nods. Jason takes up the dice and rolls, getting a seven, he's just outside the study… He groans a bit in annoyance and it's Dick's turn to roll, he also gets a seven, going toward the conservatory, having just enough spaces to make it.
"Ok, uh," he pauses as he looks at the list, then looks at what's on the board, "the conservatory, Mustard, because frick you Wally, and the revolver." He moves the pieces accordingly. At that moment, he hears a ding on his phone and checks, a message from Wally.
Walls: wyd?
Dick smiles widely and texts back
D: Accusing you of murder.
He sets his phone aside and looks at the other two, Jason passes over his evidence, it's not the conservatory, cool! He marks it down and hands the card back. Melinda's turn. She rolls another nine… She looks at the board, then what she has for rooms, just the ballroom and the library, sooo, might as well try narrowing them down. So… Dick doesn't have revolver or conservatory, she has Mustard, but she doesn't have revolver either, so, might as well use revolver.
"Ok, I accuse myself again, in the dining room, with the revolver."
"Why do you keep confessing to the crime?" Dick asks.
"Because I have a blurry five hours and I want someone to prove me innocent!" She playfully argues, acting as if she's on the verge of tears. Dick laughs. Jason takes out a card and passes it to her. The Revolver. So he does have revolver, so does that mean Dick knows he has revolver, or does he also have conservatory? One way to find out… Maybe next round. She marks revolver and passes it back. Jason takes up the dice and rolls, but there's no point. He knows where he's going. He only gets three anyway. So, he goes into the Study.
"Ok, I accuuuuse… Mrs. Peacock, cuz fuck you, Dick." Jason teases, giving the same reason Dick gave for Colonel Mustard.
"It's never Mrs. Peacock, I keep telling everybody!" Dick protests.
"And I think you did it with wrench, cuz you're a sick bastard." Jason teases more, moving the wrench over, and moves Mrs. Peacock there too.
"Huh, alright, well! I have evidence that proves I'm innocent!" Dick says, and passes over the Study card. Jason hums in fake intrigue, and marks it down. Now… Melinda has Peacock and the wrench, so that means Dick has the Study. That doesn't really narrow it down for her, but hey, it's something! Now it's Dick's turn. He looks at his sheet and then looks at the board, rolling the dice. He has to go from where he was set, house rules. But he rolls a fricken eleven. He uses ten of those to get to the Hall. "Ok, because I like memes, Mr. Green, in the Hall, with the Revolver." Melinda's brows knit, looking at him, he just smiles wide in response. It's all up to Jason as Melinda's got nothing, so Jason takes out Hall and passes it over to him. He nods and marks it down, passing it back. Jason's got a plan, only Melinda knows he's got the revolver, so he'll avoid showing Dick for as long as possible, and hopefully narrow down all the people and places. Dick hears a ding on his phone. He pulls it up and sees Wally's reply.
Walls: Aww, you're playing Clue!? No fair…
Dick quickly responds while Melinda takes her turn. She rolls a five.
D: Maybe if you didn't have school, you could have stayed to play.
She goes down to the lounge, looking at her suspects… So, Dick doesn't know if it's Green or Mustard, Jason doesn't know if it's Peacock, only ones she isn't sure of is herself, Green, Plum, or Scarlet, wow did her dealed out cards not give her a lot to go over… but it's better than when it was six people all playing at once.
"Ok, I accuse myself again, obvs, in the lounge, and I think I did it with theeeee lead pipe?" She accuses, and looks up at Jason and Dick. Both look at what they've got, Jason pulls the Lounge and passes it over. "Alrighty." She passes it back. Jason takes up the dice, but there's no point as his destination is through a secret passage. He only got four anyway. Secret passage to the kitchen. He can cut over to the ballroom next if need be.
"Ok, so… Kitchen…" He looks at his suspects… He's got Scarlet and only Scarlet… That stinks. And only revolver. Buuut… "I accuse myself, because it's fun. With the candlestick." Melinda takes out the card for Candlestick and shows Jason. He marks it off. Dick takes his dice and rolls a nine, much to Jason's annoyance. "Why do you guys keep getting all the good rolls?"
"Cuz I'm special." Dick teases, smiling. He moves to the lounge and stays rather than using the passage. He may use that later. "Ok, Mr. Green, in the Lounge, with the revolver." There's a ding on his phone, but he waits for evidence before answering it. Jason smirks, and passes over the Lounge card. Dick nods and jots it down, then picks up his phone to answer Wally's texts while Melinda goes. She gets four, but goes over to the conservatory from the lounge's passage.
Walls: Not my fault I got school…
D: No, but doesn't change the fact that if you didn't have school you could have stayed.
"So, I accuse professor Plum in the conservatory, with the lead pipe!"
"Oh you bitch…" Jason mutters, annoyed to have to go all the way on the other side of the board, he wanted to stay in the kitchen!
"Sorry, kiddo." Melinda says, smiling widely. Jason takes out the conservatory and shows her. So she was right, he did have it! "Ok! Your turn, eggplant."
"He's the eggplant." Jason states, pointing at Dick, who is distracted by texting.
"Pffff, ha!" Melinda laughs, which makes Jason laugh, and Dick lifts his head.
"What?"
"Nothing, nothing. Anyway, it's Jason's turn." Melinda says. Jason takes the dice and rolls.
"Son of a bitch…!" He curses, rolling a four. "Do these dice hate me?!"
"Yep." Melinda teases. He shakes his head and just goes to the lounge through the secret passage and then goes the four spaces to the Dining Room. He figured that was the best bet.
"Ok, dining room, Mrs. White cuz fuck you." He then grabs the wrench and sets it down. "Wrench. Whatcha got?" He sounds a bit annoyed.
"Well, I've got this." She says, handing him the dining room card. He nods and marks it. "Your turn, Dick." Melinda states, looking at her little brother, but he's lost in his phone.
Walls: Yea, yea… Whatever. What'd you have for dinner?
D: Stir fry!
Walls: That sounds so good! I'm jealous…
D: It was really good! Maybe I'll bring you some left overs if you're good.
Walls: You realize how kinky that sounds?! ;3
D: XD
"Dick?" Melinda calls again.
"Huh?" He asks, looking up. "Sorry, I was texting Wally." He sets the phone aside. "What's up?"
"It's your turn." Melinda states.
"Oh, got it, sorry." He takes the dice up and rolls, getting ten.
"Ok, the next person who gets a high roll, I swear to God…" Jason trails off. Dick just smiles and moves his piece around, he enters the dining room with just four moves, but uses the dining room to get closer to the Ballroom, stopping just outside of it. Melinda takes the dice and rolls a three, which gets her nowhere… So it's Jason's turn. He gets eight, he sighs, glad to finally get a higher roll, but it's not enough to get where he wants to go, which is the kitchen. It's now Dick's turn. He rolls a four and enters the ballroom.
"Ok, Ballroom, Mustard, and candlestick." Dick says. Melinda shows him Candlestick. So it's between two weapons now, lead pipe and wrench. He still has a lot of rooms to narrow down, and people, but he's close to the weapon! Melinda rolls a nine, she has a fascination with nine apparently.
"What, are you German?" Jason teases.
"Nein." Melinda answers, which means 'no', of course. Jason facepalms, Dick just laughs. Melinda moves, heading toward the billiards room, she's just two spaces shy of getting there. So Jason rolls, and gets six, which is enough to get him back to the kitchen.
"Ok, Kitchen, myself, with the dagger." Jason says. To which Dick shows him the dagger. Dick's turn, but he stays in the ballroom.
"Ok, staying here, I'm still saying mustard, but with the lead pipe." Dick lists, Melinda shows him Mustard. Melinda rolls now, getting eight. She goes into the billiards room. She looks at Jason a moment, wanting to accuse him, but he gives her a warning glare. Dick smiles, finding it funny that Jason already has the Batglare.
"Ok, I suspect Miss Scarlet, and the rope is already here, so I'll do that." She mentions. Dick takes out the rope card and shows her. All the weapons are narrowed down, so it's the lead pipe, but where and who…? Jason stays where he is, not bothering to roll.
"Kitchen, myself, lead pipe." Jason says. Dick has no choice, he slides over the Professor Plum card. Jason smiles, glad it's not him, but now who could it be? Dick has taken notice that they've each questioned about the lead pipe… surely if someone had the card, they wouldn't ask about it… sooo. Who is it and where? Dick rolls the dice, just getting three, so he just stays in the ballroom.
"So, I'll jump on the self-accusation train for once, even though I firmly believe it's never me, and with the lead pipe, in the ballroom." Melinda bites her lip a bit and slowly passes the ballroom card over. He takes it, looks at it, then shoots his head up, brows knitting. She tucks her lips in to keep from smiling, then puts her hands to her forehead, then pulls her hand across it, off the forehead and makes a slight fist with her thumb poking up, attempting to say she forgot in sign language. Dick smiles and sticks his right pinky and thumb up, the other fingers curled in and brushes his thumb against the point of his nose, making the 'silly', motion. She giggles.
"What are you two doing?" Jason questions.
"Sign language." Dick answers. He passes the card back to her after marking it down. Melinda's turn, she gets a four. She stays in the billiards room.
"I accuse Mrs. Scarlet, with the lead pipe, in the billiard room." Melinda states. Jason shows the Billiards room card he has. Jason's turn, however, of course he stays in the kitchen.
"Kitchen, lead pipe… Mr. Green." Jason accuses, moving the pieces accordingly. However, with a double check, Dick has nothing. And… Neither does Melinda. Realizing that Melinda has nothing, Dick looks at Jason, eyes wide, then he smiles.
"You're sure you don't have any of those cards." Dick asks. Jason just double checks himself, just in case. And nope, he doesn't. Dick takes the envelope and opens it up, setting the cards down. "Mr. Green, lead pipe, kitchen. Wow, well done, Jay! Solved your first murder!"
"Wow, really? Awesome!" Jason states happily, smiling widely, he bounces a bit in his seat.
"Yep! This calls for a celebration. How about I make us some popcorn and we can go watch a movie?"
"Yes!" Jason says excitedly.
"Just so long as you don't make the popcorn." Melinda comments, looking at Dick. Dick bows his head dramatically.
"I'm guessing he's not allowed in the kitchen either?" Jason asks. Melinda nods, smiling. Jason laughs.
