"Alright, so that last client was kaput, we need to rethink our recruitment strategy!"

"Sir, what recruitment strategy? We are not seeking anyone else to work along. Not that we would need anyway. The three of us have been dealing easily with the workload."

"Of course you would say that, have you not notice we are getting shot at more often? I don't like getting shot!"

"We wouldn't get shot if we weren't so easily spotted all the time! You rush all over the place without a care! No Human will look at you and not take you as a serious threat!"

"Oh, now it's my fault! Cause your loud ass gunfire doesn't bring attention to us at all!"

"I don't have a fucking suppressor!"

Loona sighed, looking thoroughly uninterested as Blitzo and Moxxie kept their argument about who was in the right. The only one who seemed to notice the Hellhound spacing out was Millie. The female Imp approached her with caution, occasionally looking back as to make sure neither Blitzo or Moxxie would look out for her as a backup option.

"Hi Loona." Millie said rather cheerfully with a timid wave of hand. Loona merely grunted in response. "Say, how was your night? I heard you finally got to a party."

Loona raised her eyes towards Millie, unsure of why the other female was even remotely curious about it. It's not like Millie ever asked the Hellhound about her life at any point before now. She was about to tell Millie to fuck off, but she caught Collin's narrowed glance towards her general direction. The sheep, who was sitting on a couch nearby, was giving her a clear sign to not be rude. She sighed again, feeling somewhat defeated as she contemplated the Imp more carefully.

The Hellhound frowned, she was already feeling a bit annoyed due the need of waking up early after a demanding night, Van's party was far away, so she had to improvise to get to the office in time. At least she could count that Collin, despite struggling badly with cramps on his legs, was able to get up early and wake her up somehow. Loona was not a fan of waking up so early, but the worry of getting late and having to hear Blitzo throwing a tantrum was just enough to get her running. The Imp was lenient with many things regarding Loona, but to be late for work was not one of them.

"It was okay, better than I expected, not that I had much to talk about. At least I got Collin drunk and we had a good time around." She replied, struggling to keep a smile from showing up as she recalled last night's events. "It was fun."

"Nice! Is good to have something to look forward after work." Millie said, looking slightly more curious all of sudden. "Say, you had a good time with Collin then? How was it?" Loona raised an eyebrow.

"How was what?"

"Oh, come on! You know what I mean, when you talk about a good time it only can mean se-"

Millie was unable to finish as the Hellhound quickly placed a hand over her mouth. Loona glanced at the Imp males still arguing before looking back at Millie with a worried look.

"Listen, I get you have questions and whatever, but don't go talking crazy shit near Blitzo, I don't want to get Collin in trouble." Loona whispered urgently. She waited for the Imp to nod before releasing the grip. Millie briefly glanced at the sheep before turning her attention back to the Hellhound.

"Oh, okay? So... how was it?" Millie whispered, just too curious to avoid touching the subject. Loona frowned, debating on how much detail to describe the event. For whatever reason, she didn't feel any restrains about sharing something like that with the female Imp.

"Well, it was good but short. I mean, it was kinda his first time. He... tried too hard, I think." She replied with a smirk. "I don't fault him for trying to impress, but his body is not used to that kind of stress. He needs to get some muscles until he can get decent enough."

"So, it was alright? Even with the size difference?" Millie asked, seemingly surprised. Loona shrugged.

"Err, it was... refreshing, at least for me. I only dated the big ones, and they didn't like being gentle. Collin... I could tell that the cared more about me enjoying the moment than him. I... I had no idea how something like that could make the sex so much better. I wasn't worried about hurting or anything, I felt... at ease with him."

Loona sighed, her mind was still trying to process the impact that their relationship was causing on her own life views. Sex never felt so meaningful before as of now, but for a good reason other than just wanting to forget how miserable her life is for few moments, or was. Collin made everything change in a way she actually has something to look forward, knowing he would be at her side the next morning when she woke up, keeping her warm and feeling safer.

"Well, seems you found your soulmate." Millie teased with a cheeky grin but, much to her astonishment, Loona didn't seem annoyed.

"I... don't think that's far from the truth." Loona said hesitantly, which made Millie look even more stunned.

"Oh... wow, that's... a big step to take." She said, looking uncertain. She glanced back at Moxxie and Blitzo, internally wondering how such news would affect the team overall. Surely Moxxie wouldn't care, probably even encourage them.

But Blitzo...

"I know it looks weird, but Collin is different from anyone else. I'm not sure if is just because of where he came from. He sure is a lot better than the two pricks we killed a couple days ago. I just don't know how to explain it." Loona huffed, feeling frustrated at herself for not being able to sound more convincing, but Millie seemed to acknowledge her feelings on the matter.

"I get ya, is not all about looks and things making sense, is mostly about how you feel. If Collin makes you feel right, then there's no reason to not give it a try at least. That's how I ended up with Moxxie. My parents sure didn't see much on him, nor did they think he was an option, but I kept him regardless. This is the sort of thing you must do, worry about you and him only, forget the others. Who knows? They might come around and accept him with time."

Loona nodded, surprised by Millie's words of wisdom and actual caring of her problems. Suddenly the Hellhound felt awkward near the female Imp, finally coming to realize that Millie is not as bad as she thought her to be.

"Hey, huh... Mills?" Loona started hesitantly. Millie raised an eyebrow, greatly surprised by the nickname addressing. Loona looked to the side, only to see Collin giving her an encouraging nod. "I... huh, wanna apologize, you know... for all the crap I gave you this past year and, well, Moxxie too, but I rather tell just you for now." She quickly added, the clear look of anxiety on her face caught Millie off guard.

"Oh, huh, yeah, no worries!" She replied, feeling slightly awkward and unsure of how to react towards an apology, unused to ever hearing such from anyone but Moxxie. Although her loud reply caught the attention of the other male Imps.

"What are you two blabbering over here?" Blitzo asked, coming near them while giving Moxxie a brief exhausted glance. "We can discuss that another time Mox."

Moxxie raised an eyebrow, surprised to see his boss actually leaving in the middle of a heated debated. He glanced suspiciously, aware that this was not usual behavior from the taller Imp at all.

Blitzo glanced in between Loona and Millie, curious and hopeful that his adoptive daughter would share more about herself. Yet, his eyes found the angelic sheep sitting not far away, he looked to be making pained expressions from once in a while, which intrigued Blitzo at first, but he just shook his head. He was not really interested in what Loona was doing with the sheep, for all he cared she could keep him as her personal slave or whatever.

"Nothing, just talking about the party last night." Loona replied evenly, making sure to think carefully before responding to Blitzo's insatiable desire to butt in on their lifes. "What about you? How was yours?"

"Fine, until Blitzo decided to become an attention seeker as per usual." Moxxie quickly quipped with an annoyed expression, which softened right after. "But it was pretty well for me and Millie, until we got kicked. Honestly I don't even think we will ever care going back there, there's only assholes in that place."

"I mean," Loona started, feeling a strong temptation to smirk but resisting. "It is the Ring of Lust, what else could you expect? I really don't get how you expected anything romantic with Millie there."

"Well, we made it work, somehow." Millie replied with a shrug, although she does agree that Loona has a point.

"Yes, all good for you all, while me having to deal with fucking Verosika and bloody Fizzarolli wasn't actually pleasant, but I made it through, mostly." Blitzo said, looking extremely sour at mentioning those specific two Demons. "Not that I missed much, I was expecting to see you later Loona, but you made clear I wasn't seeing you until today." He added as he threw a questioning glance towards the Hellhound. She sighed, fully aware she was going to need to explain her night a little bit.

"Yeah, it was fun, I made a couple friends here and there, met Vortex's girl, which is not what I expected, and got myself a free card to whatever future parties they make next." She replied monotone as possible. "I took Collin with me, just to get him to know the place around. He's a terrible lightweight, worst I've ever seen." She said with a chuckle.

"Not surprising, everything coming from Heaven has to be tough as toilet paper." Blitzo replied with an eyeroll. They all turned their eyes as a chuckle came from a rather unexpected direction.

"What? It is kind of true." Collin argued defensively as he took notice of all eyes on him. "Without magic there's not much they can do in a fight of any sort. Or even do the bare minimum at a gym. We had few Humans that were the athletic type, but they lost that attribute as Heaven doesn't really require an effort to exist aside doing good forever and whatnot."

"Sounds about right and boring as fuck." Blitzo eyed the sheep more carefully. At any other day Blitzo would just spit at him some offenses and attempt murder, but after last night he wasn't really in the mood for violence and any type of debate would wear him out rather quick. His mood was already sour after the disaster with Stolas, he doesn't want to make it worse by upsetting Loona aswell. "Say, how about we make you more useful? But first, Loona..."

Blitzo stood hesitantly, looking to be debating with himself over his next decision, all the others eyed him attentively, for it was extremely surprising to see Blitzo addressing Collin so casually.

"... after a long time of consideration, I'm promoting you to field duty."

Loona stood perplexed, not daring to believe that Blitzo was being serious on such a drastic change. He nodded severely as he took in her stunned expression.

"Yes, I think you earned your place in the team, I mean as in the actual challenge that is running this business." He complemented before looking back at the sheep. "As for you, I want you to take Loona's place at doing the paperwork. She will tell you what goes where during your first few days, it shouldn't be too hard. I actually think Moxxie has a point regarding the risks we were taking for the last few months. Loona has the benefit of a Human disguise, which will aid her better on getting the job done. We will only get directly involved if things go south."

Moxxie, Millie, Loona and Collin stood in silence, too flabbergasted to even react to the Imp's sudden change of character, or perhaps he was just sick, or drunk.

"Huh, Blitzo, are you alright?" Moxxie asked cautiously. His boss merely nodded, his attention wandering elsewhere. "I... don't even really know what to say, I mean... if this is really you talking... I'm genuinely shocked."

"You can say that again." Loona added, looking at her adoptive father figure with an expression of wonder. "What happened with you? This is very unlike you, not that I'm complaining." She quickly added. Blitzo shrugged her concerns off.

"Nothing, just came to realize that we are... taking far too many problems on our backs. We will try a new approach from now on. Yes, I will let you come and use all the guns you want Loona." He added once he saw the Hellhound about to start questioning him, she chuckled at his premature assumption.

"I was gonna ask if you intend to pay Collin." She said, raising an eyebrow. Blitzo sighed heavily.

"Yes, if we get our demands of extermination to increase I can put him on payroll, but not with the usual Worker's Fidelity bullcrap."

"That's good enough. Yet, I think I should keep getting the calls. We tend to have very unstable clients, and I don't think he would be able to manage those." Loona pointed out, to which Blitzo nodded tiredly.

"Yeah, yeah, that's fine. Speaking of it actually..." He shifted towards the Cherub with a frown. "Do you even have a phone?"

"Huh, a cellphone? Hum... no, but I can arrange one. Although I don't see how the signal for that works here." Collin replied slowly, worried to not upset the Imp in any shape or form.

"Eh, that's not a problem. Loona can get you a chip that will get it working. Now, since we won't be having any clients coming until the afternoon, feel free to do whatever. I need to get some calls going and stuff. Oh, I was almost forgetting, Loona, do you still have the book with you?" He suddenly asked, looking at the Hellhound apprehensively.

"Book?" She asked, looking astonished for a second, until it clicked for her what he's on about. "Oh, yeah, I do. Why?"

"Well, considering last night, I worry we may end up not having it in our possession for very long." The Imp started with a tired voice, his face expressing concern and doubt. "If only we did not have to rely on that damn spell every sing-

"Huh, is the spell a read-only thing?" Collin suddenly asked, looking intrigued as he glanced at the Imp hesitantly. Blitzo blinked, he was about to reply but realized he wasn't really sure if such step was necessary.

"I don't know actually." He replied slowly, looking somewhat curious all of sudden. He shifted his attention back at the sheep with suspicion. "Why do you ask?"

Collin didn't reply right away, instead his eyes searched for Loona's. The Hellhound looked a bit miffed once she realized the corner that the sheep was putting her in.

"The thing is, since me and Collin kinda spent the night at the Club, we would be late to be back for work. Also, after the problems we had leaving the dorky place, cause I couldn't fucking see anything, I figured it would be easier if I just memorized the spell, instead of having to read it all the time. Which is how we got here, I opened a portal and we came into the office right away."

Blitzo was looking completely astonished, he slapped a hand over his forehead so hard it actually left a visible mark on it.

"I can't fucking believe it!" He started, sounding extremely irritated. Loona sighed, bracing herself for a torrent of criticism. "Why didn't we think of that before?! It means I don't have to suck Sto...errr, have to bend ov...urrgh! I wouldn't need to be on Stola's good side all the fucking time!"

The Hellhound blinked, not expecting the shift of blame to end up like that. She risked a quick glance at Collin, surprised to see the sheep with a confident smirk on his face. She chuckled, realizing that he expected that outcome, regardless of her worries about Blitzo finding out she was playing with spells on her own.

"Thank fuck! I don't have to deal with this anymore, especially after last night." He concluded, his voice lowering drastically. Blitzo let out a long, suffering sigh, his attention returning back to Loona. "Normally I would be worried you would be messing with that stuff, but... I'm proud you learned it on your own, good job."

The serene compliment was quite unexpected, to which Loona wasn't really sure how to react. Yet, she knew things were far from being ideal, especially as she considered carefully her next few words.

"Also, there's another thing you kinda should know." Loona started slowly, looking at Blitzo with major concern. The Imp raised an eyebrow, realizing how hesitant the Hellhound was acting.

"I can tell I might not like what I'm about to hear, but I'm on zero fucks right now, so just dump it." He said as his attention shifted back to Millie and Moxxie. "Don't you two have places to be? We ain't doing anything today, so might as well just go home."

Moxxie was stunned. Blitzo NEVER before even remotely came close to suggest something as 'a day off' from work.

"Huh, s-sure? Let's go Mills, I suppose." He replied, clearly confused as he made his way to the door, Millie followed shortly after, glancing back at Loona briefly with an 'it will be alright' smile on her face. Loona wished she could think the same.

"So, what horrible news do you have for me?" Blitzo asked, sighing heavily as he dumped himself into the nearest chair. He took notice of Collin's worried glance towards the Hellhound.

"Well, you do know I've been looking for a mate for some time." She started wearily, she couldn't help the nervousness as she clasped her hands together, tail swishing nonstop due the anxiety. "And... I found one."

"Oh, for fuck sake." Blitzo groaned, looking to be in absolute pain. He cast a tired look back at her. "So, how big is the muscle head?" Loona raised an eyebrow.

"Why size would matter?" She asked dubiously.

"Because it helps me to understand how much of a threat he can be to you. I don't want you to end up with some asshole that might hurt you."

Loona couldn't help her muzzle opening in pure disbelief at what she just heard. It was the most honest thing Blitzo ever said, and it showed that he actually cared, these last words carrying more meaning than anything he had done so far. At least, it actually felt genuine towards her person, not as if he was just thinking of his own image or being possessive about her. Not only that, it was one of the major concerns Collin also had about it. Loona blinked, struggling to understand why Blitzo never said it before.

"If that was always the issue why you didn't say so?!" She couldn't help the frustration. Blitzo always gave her crap about any potential mates she could find for the last two years. None of them ever went further than one encounter, mostly cause Blitzo would often point a gun to their faces, which irritated her to no end. "I got sick of you denying me a chance to actually have a mate! I was starting to think you just wanted me to be a lesbian or something!"

Collin coughed. That one was new and it sounded rather funny, he couldn't help it. Thankfully none of them paid any attention to his attempt at masking a laugh.

"What? No! That was never it!" Blitzo quickly replied, looking somewhat surprised. "Loona, you never stopped to think what kind of problems those guys you look after could present? What if they forced you to do something you didn't want to?! I cannot look after you every single time, as much I wish I could! I know you're strong, okay? But they are much more so, and you wouldn't be able to stop them. I... it scared me to think what could happen to you. I... do know about the orphanage."

Loona was left speechless, staring at Blitzo as she just saw a ghost of some kind. She wasn't expecting Blitzo to know about that aspect of her past, and that terrified her. She was very tempted to bolt from the room on that very instant, but the unexpected touch of Collin's hand on her brought the frantic thoughts to a sudden halt. She looked down, the sheep looking back with a very soft stare, grasping her more firmly as to show she didn't need to worry. The kind of support she could expect from her mate.

But Blitzo wasn't going to ignore the whole thing and not realize what was going on.

"Wait a minute..." The utter disbelief in his voice being very telling. "... Loony, your mate is..."

The Hellhound groaned, turning back to face her stepfather with a pained look on her face.

"Look, Blit-

The sudden interruption of a phone ringing brought Loona's speech to a halt. She pulled the ringing device from the table nearby, surprised by the unknown call on the ID display. She blinked few times before opening the call.

"Huh, who is this?"

"Oh, finally! I thought I was getting the numbers right! Clearly not, now you must be the wolf thing that came by yesterday."

Loona quickly realized who the voiced belonged to.

"Oh, hey Doc Heathen. So... why you're calling?"

"What else, idiot? You requested for exams about infections, diseases and all that boring stuff. I got the results this morning, everything tested negative. Now do me a favor and never come here unless you're about to die."

The call was cut short, the line going deaf as Loona stared into nothingness, her mind slowly absorbing the information she just received.

Negative on all tests. She could hardly believe it, which meant that Collin's weird spell actually worked. Loona wasn't sure how to react, it was bewildering for her for something so amazing to happen, in a good way obviously. Yet, she found herself looking back at the sheep, her eyes going watery as she felt her throat drying out.

"I... I'm cured." She said breathlessly. Collin blinked, confused for a few seconds until it finally clicked, growing a huge smile on his face that made the Hellhound flush tremendously.

"Can someone fill me up and tell me what the fuck is going on?!" Blitzo asked, patience finally running out. "Who was on the phone?"

"Loona went by the Hospital yesterday, for some exams to check if the spell I used on her cured her disease." Collin quickly explained, realizing that Loona was too far off to be able to respond properly. "So I imagine she just got the call confirming the spell w-

Collin was abruptly interrupted, mostly due a huge muzzle planting a surprise kiss on his mouth out of nowhere. His eyes widened in shock as the Hellhound kissed him fiercely, not caring at all about who else was present. Blitzo stood speechless, looking at the scene as if he just saw someone very dear to him die horribly.

"You and... him? But..." Blitzo tried to make sense of the bizarre scene. An angel and a Hellhound? How was this even a thing?! He couldn't even being to understand how Loona ended up liking the cottontail that much! Yet, for some strange reason, that... didn't worry him as much a male Hellhound would. He couldn't help but notice that Loona looked very happy, smiling widely while hugging the sheep with all her might, which meant that Collin was clearly suffocating. "Bloody Hell Loona, that... is crazy."

"I know... it looks crazy." She replied distractedly, nuzzling Collin's head with extreme affection. "But... I can't help it."

Blitzo started mumbling words incoherently. His mind spinning and he couldn't think clearly about anything at that point. Noticing that the Imp was losing himself Loona felt she needed to address that more thoroughly. She let out a tired sigh as she glanced at Collin with a bit of frustration showing on her face.

"Give me and Blitzo a few minutes? I will be out soon." She told him quietly, to which the sheep made no objection as he realized things could get complicated really quick. He nodded silently before walking away, still trying to catch his breath from Loona's affection.

Loona turned to face Blitzo with caution, but once she noticed the rather desolate expression on his face she couldn't help but take a more soft approach.

"Dad." She started softly, to which Blitzo's head shot up in surprise. This was probably the first time in years she actually addressed him like that, and with actual intent of saying so. "I know this is a lot to take in, but Collin... he's giving me a reason to believe. No, it's not God." She quickly added with a hint of annoyance once Blitzo was about to interrupt. "He gives me a reason to believe there's actually something to look forward in my life. That things don't always suck or will never go right. For once, I can feel... happy. It's... amazing actually." She couldn't help the nervous chuckle, feeling giddy about things was rather new to her, but it felt good to feel it. Being optimistic was never a thing she though possible, but now she could see an actual change on the dark horizon. "I... never told you how I felt about things, especially the way you treated me."

Blitzo felt a bolt of anxiousness all of sudden, realizing that Loona was about to dig on him why she's been so neglectful of his parenting. The way she spoke those words made it clear that he wronged her somehow, but he wasn't sure where he did wrong. Seeing no way of defending himself without knowing the cause, he had no choice but to listen attentively.

"Look, this is gonna take some time, so... you better listen it carefully. I won't be saying this again."
