A/N: "Another update, thank you all for the reviews and for staying around this long. I watched the new chapter just hours ago, but there was nothing about it that I could add here, or that I haven't already wrote. This story is a slow build up after all. Have a great week!"

Collin and Loona had slept at Hazbin for the previous night. Charlie spent a long time dealing with the crazy serpent guy, who demanded a rematch, only to be finally scared off by Vaggie's angelic spear. The Morningstar girl apologized for the incident later on, although Collin insisted that apologies weren't needed, it wasn't her fault some crazy Demon attacked the hotel because of outside affairs. Vaggie gave Loona some instructions of how to take on the reception work, expecting to see the Hellhound every night for training routines, in the mean time Collin and Charlie would be walking around the hotel, exchanging ideas on what to change or improve. The Fallen was adamant for more staff to be filled, which Charlie was a request Charlie wasn't sure how to fulfill. She also wanted to teach Collin about her own powers, while learning more about Heaven and the system they operated to allow souls to join their ranks. Collin warned her that he would be limited on sharing knowledge about Heaven.
At morning Charlie and Vaggie were present to see them depart back to I.M.P. The Morningstar was hopeful and excited for their next meeting. Vaggie wasn't so optimistic, but having more folk to talk that weren't Husker, Nifty or Charlie was enough to improve her mood. Collin said said his goodbyes while Loona merely shrugged, not seeing to point of farewell if they would be returning at evening anyway. What surprised the wolf was that Loona decided to teleport right away, opening the portal right in front of a dumbfounded Vaggie while Charlie's groaned at her side. Collin laughed sheepishly as he rushed after the Hellhound, not feeling like staying behind and having to deal with a lot of uncomfortable questions.
Now they were at Blitzo's office alongside Millie and Moxxie, the couple was not even sure why they had been dragged there, but is not like they wanted to make the Hellhound even more upset than she looked.
"Loona, not right now. I gotta a client on the line. Can't this wai-
"Cut the crap. We're talking, NOW."
"Huh, sir? Do you want us to wait outside? We ca-
"You two stay here."
"But this isn'-
"I SAID... stay here."
"Okay?... huh, will this take long? I'm kinda thirsty."
Loona felt a nervous tick on her left eye while glaring down on Moxxie. The Imp swallowed dry at the withering stare he received as a response. Millie sighed, pushing her husband gently towards the couch. She knew better than discussing with a Hellhound that was clearly not open to argument. Blitzo was a different matter though.
"Listen, yes, yes. I can set you for the next day. No problem at all, great!" The taller Imp kept his attention on the phone, occasionally glancing towards the other occupants on the room. He quickly deviated his eyes away once he spotted Loona's increasingly demonic look aimed at him. "Alright, make sure to drop the info we need with our secretar-
"Blitzo. I quit."
A profound silence followed those words. The Imp boss held the phone with a vacant stare, frozen solid as his mind slowly registered the words that came from the Hellhound. Moxxie and Millie stared in surprise, not expecting that Loona would ever get to the point of leaving the business all of sudden by her own will.
"Wait, is this for real? This is not a joke, right?" Moxxie asked uncertainly. He has plenty reasons to be suspicious of a potential prank being played on him for the sake of getting a rather embarrassing reaction. Yet, Loona shook her head at his inquiry.
"Hello, anyone there?" Came the faint voice from the phone Blitzo forgot to turn off.
"No, I'm not fucking around. I mean it. I'm done. I got another job." The Hellhound said firmly, crossing her arms as she stared down at Moxxie without any visible resentment. "Say, was fun while it lasted. I guess I just found something better to do with my time."
"Is that so? Well, I'm... not sure what to think." Moxxie replied, seemingly lost on how to react. "I guess we will need to find a replacement soon then." Loona chuckled.
"I guess you will be happy now. Don't have to worry about the addicted, homeless woman handling the phone anymore." Loona mocked.
Moxxie winced at those words, fully aware that Loona was not the forgetful type when it came to insults towards her person. He sighed regretfully, not proud of how he behaved that particular day back at the meeting room.
"Listen, Loona. I-
"Don't care for your apology fatty." She cut him off, turning around to face away from the gun-loving Imp. "You said your mind. At least, when you said that, you thought of me as a woman, not some dog. Is the only reason why I don't hate your guts."
"Oh." Was Moxxie could say, not expecting such admission from her part. He felt uneasy as it dawned on him why Loona was always so reluctant to engage in any kind of social behavior when around Imps or Demons. "You being a Hellhound doesn't make you lesser in any way. I would never see you, or anyone else, like that."
Loona spared a quick, surprised glance back at Moxxie, stunned that he would bother to say such words to her and actually be genuine on the way he said them. Even Collin, standing quietly a few feet away, stared at the Imp with a bit of awe. At this point the wolf wasn't sure if all Imps also saw Hellhounds as lesser beings or not. He was glad to find out that Moxxie is not part of such narrow-minded group.
"Sure, we didn't get along." Moxxie continued, feeling a bit more confident as he talked without being interrupted. "I admit I was a bit pathetic at times with the way I acted. Also got angry at you for the wrong reasons, few times." He added with a nervous smile. "I know you don't like the way I dress, talk, walk, or whatever other reason. Yet, I have to be honest. You have a terrible attitude towards a lot of things and people, but... I don't blame you."
"Moxxieeeee." Blitzo suddenly spoke, his voice carrying a clear amount of warning. Moxxie sighed as Loona stared at them in confusion, still baffled by how open Moxxie was being towards her. She was starting to feel something akin to shame with the way she treated him, never having realized the type of person Moxxie really is underneath all his dorky, weak exterior.
"Alright, I will call you later, I guess."
"This is Hell." Moxxie continued, ignoring Blitzo's frustration as the taller Imp realized the client hung up on him. "And is already hard enough to grow up here with all this... stuff. I was lucky I had a... some family to get me through things, or...well, some part of it. I cannot really fault your for being who you are now, especially with the life you had previo-
"YOU FUCKING TOLD THEM?!"
Loona quickly turned around, slamming both hands over Blitzo's desk. The Imp cowered in fear as a huge, and extremely furious, Loona loomed over his frail figure with sharp teeth on full display.
"I-I-It was n-not intentional!" He desperately spoke, visible beads of sweat falling down across his face. "I left the office early, I told Moxxie to clean it up for me! He found the adoption papers over my desk. I was checking for some information and forgot to store them!"
"You dumb fuck! I can't believe this crap!"
"Yeah, neither can I!" Blitzo said, mustering some of his courage back rather quickly. "What the actual fuck is this about you quitting?! This is a family business, you can't just quit!"
"You're not my family!" Loona shouted so loudly that all glass material present in the room trembled slightly. "I don't know my family! They abandoned me! I'm some nobody that you decided to give a fuck about to feel better about yourself!"
"Loona." Collin said timidly, knowing it was futile at that point. She was not stopping any time soon. Obviously his call was ignored despite Loona's left ear shifting slightly.
"I was at that shithole for years! Being fucked by whoever could trample me with ease!" Her words caught Moxxie and Millie unawares, their expressions of shock and disgust quite evident. "Not until I grew strong enough that I had a chance to stop it. I had no reason to want to live. I...! I... wanted to die. I was so done..."
That admission hurt more than any other words could. Collin felt his heart might explode from sheer panic once Loona admitted to thinking about suicide, and it was clear that the Imps were also extremely alarmed by this.
"The only reason I didn't fucking kill myself was because of you!" Loona's hands closed into fists, her body was shaking tremendously. So much pent up frustration finally letting itself known. "I thought you were different. I thought you gave a fuck!" Loona couldn't help the whimper at that point. Her hands found Blitzo's old desk phone, picking it up and slamming it at the nearest wall. Dozens of small pieces flew across the entire room while everyone flinched. "At first I thought you wanted to turn me into a sex slave. Then you started talking about family and shit. My stupid ass believed that, even if for just a bit. Because I... because I..."
Loona's struggle to find the right words had Collin moving slowly near her. He silently watched Blitzo standing still, looking every bit traumatized as the Hellhound ranted on his face all the hurt she endured. He was taken aback once he took notice of Millie's and Moxxie's expressions, both giving rather intense glares towards Blitzo.
"Because anything might be better than being alone." Collin said for her, gently clasping one her hands, a small attempt of soothing the Hound's emotions. Loona sighed heavily, slowly nodding as she looked towards the office's single window with a rather vacant stare. "Yet, it takes time to realize that being alone it's not really the worst that can happen. Being alone is a choice that falls entirely on the individual. People usually seek whoever comes that can aid with their needs, but not necessarily with how they feel."
"What does it matter? Blitzo doesn't give a fuck about how anyone feels. He's a bloodthirsty, psychopath. I don't want to murder, I don't want to torture and I don't want to get in trouble. You know this shit isn't going to last!" She pointed an accusatory finger towards Blitzo. "Keeping the murdering only to Hell was the better idea. As soon you decided to mess with another realm you're asking for trouble. I told you this, but you didn't give a shit! You only took this job just to get more money, and you don't even fucking pay us enough!" Loona was seething so hard that Moxxie and Millie started to walk away slowly, although it was noticeable the dejected looks of agreement on their faces. "You wasted it all, on yourself, your fucking addictions and fetishes! If you like horses so much, buy one, marry one, and fuck it until it dies!"
"Whoa, whoa! Loona, easy there!" Blitzo was shocked at this point, as was everyone else in the room. "I like them, but not like that!"
"You like yourself!" She said with so much spite that the Imp recoiled. "Collin was talking me into thinking that you actually cared. I know at some point maybe you did, that I meant more to you than some fucking emotional replacement for all the times you fucked up a relationship. Moxxie is right, you're single and sad as fuck. And that's your own fault, cause you can't be bothered to fucking try and actually give a shit. You keep peeking on them fucking all the time, cause you think you will figure out what makes their relationship last while yours doesn't. That you cannot see the fucking obvious is enough for me to know you will never change."
"Loona, you can't just label someone like that." Collin tried to reason, even if he wasn't sure himself at that point. "Blitzo has his faults, but it's not like he can't do anything about it."
"So what? I'm not waiting around to see it Collin, I'm tired of this shit."
Blitzo frowned, he was reluctant to take any words Collin said seriously, but even the stubborn Imp could tell that Loona had enough and there was no going back from whatever decision she made. He groaned, feeling a headache about to burst. Things have been very complicated regarding his relationship with Stolas. The attempted murder at his own office days ago, alongside the fact that Loona fell in love with a Fallen, only made things far too complicated for his understanding. He wanted to scream, shoot, explode something, anything, right of the bat. Yet, hearing Loona's words of despair as she looked down on him, the utter frustration and disappointment she expressed with utter distaste. It hurt him very deep.
"Collin, stay here for a moment. I... want to talk, privately." Blitzo calmly requested, not looking at anyone in particular. Moxxie, Millie and Loona gave him suspicious glares before making their way to the door. Loona gave Collin one last worried glance, to which the wolf returned with a hand gesture, assuring her that he would be fine. She huffed before closing the door quite forcefully, leaving the Imp and the Fallen standing across each other under a rather uncomfortable silence.
Blitzo remained awfully quiet, much to the wolf's increasing anxiety. Collin wasn't sure what to expect from having a private conversation with Blitzo. Since they met their talks have always been extremely tense and one-sided. The Imp made his distaste for the Fallen very clear. Yet, Collin had a weird feeling that something must've changed ever since.
"You know, this is a bit of a problem. Not that I have a shortage of those." Blitzo started rather quietly, crossing his hands under his chin, eyes narrowed towards Collin, although with any clear animosity. "I've been very... confused about Loona and you. I had no reason to think you could be even remotely trustworthy. You're a damn Angel after all."
Collin remained still, not daring to break Blitzo's monologue. It was rather astonishing that he wasn't yelling or cursing as much he usually does. The Imp let out a sigh, slowly resting his backside onto the swiveling chair.
"You did something for Loona I would never be able to." He continued, the seriousness of his voice kept Collin's attention fixated. "Now... you helped her get a new job, and possibly a place of her own. Any other day, I would've shot you dead. But... it's not like we won't be seeing each other ever again. I get that much. I was starting to worry that this work might be stressing her out. Yes, I know! I'm guilty of it too." He cut off Collin's attempt of interrupting him. "I think I get what she's trying to say, mostly. I just... worry for her safety. Where is this new place she found work?"
"Oh, it is Hazbin Hotel." Collin replied quickly. Blitzo raised an eyebrow.
"Haz-what? An hotel? Why? Is there anything even remotely exciting about working at an hotel?" He asked with incredulity. Collin hesitated, unsure how much he should reveal about Hazbin's popularity.
"Well, the owner is quite, huh, famous?" He said, unsure if the term of popularity even has any relevancy in Hell. Blitzo snorted.
"Like who? Better not be another drug addict, alcoholic, fallout, bitchy actress."
"Her name is Charlie. Charlie Morningstar."
Blitzo blinked, looking at the wolf with a rather petrified expression.
"Wait... isn't that... what!?" He shouted, disbelief on his face as he stood up, looking extremely concerned. "Lucifer's daughter?! Are you fucking kidding me cotton!?"
"N-No?" Collin replied, feeling quite nervous at the outburst.
"Oh, this is fucking... GREAT!"
"...huh?" The wolf stood perplexed, not sure if he understood the sudden shift correctly. Blitzo wasn't mad, by the contrary, he seemed very excited by the news.
"Well, I can't say I'm happy with the idea of Loona leaving." Blitzo said with a huge smirk on his face. "But if that means my daughter is going to be working with one of the most important folk in Hell, who I am to judge? She's moving up on life, that's for sure."
Collin couldn't believe how delighted the Imp was about the whole thing. It was incredible, but very hard to take for granted.
"Huh, are you not mad?" Blitzo reacted to his question with a confused frown. "I mean, Loona is leaving your house too."
"Oh, right. I was almost forgetting that. Where is she moving to?"
"The Hotel. Charlie granted her an entire VIP room for her to reside."
"Really? Damn, my girl is important!" He laughed cheerfully, much to Collin's increasing puzzlement. "Well, I guess this means we will need to find another secretary. Honestly I wasn't keen on having Loona taking trips with us to the Human realm anyway. Now, while I'm glad to hear what she achieved, there's still one tiny problem." He added while pinching two clawed fingers to illustrate his point.
"Which is?"
"You."
Blitzo's cheerfulness dissipated, that serious look returning instantaneously. He coughed a bit to clear his throat, clasping his hands together on what Collin assumed was an attempt at looking professional.
"And... how am I a problem, sir?" The wolf asked hesitantly.
"Well, besides you fucking my daughter, I need to point out a few things." He replied evenly, much to Collin's shock.
"I-I-I didn't... I mean, she-
"Yeah, yeah, shut the fuck up. I know Loona already violated your tender ass while you moaned like a little bitch." He cut him off aggressively. "That's not what I'm concerned about. Not like I have to anyway, you're the one getting fucked after all."
"Excuse me?!"
"As I was saying, my worry lies on whether you can actually keep her safe from trouble. I don't mean arguments and some trash talk. I mean folk actively wanting to kill her or worse. I don't think you noticed yet, this is fucking Hell, and there's a ton of powerful Demons around. I've kept Loona away from these shitheads for years, cause I know she cannot keep her mouth shut for the sake of not being savagely murdered. Now you're going with her at a place that will have powerful Demons, of that I have no doubt. Can I trust you to watch her back?"
Collin's jaw dropped slightly, finally understanding Blitzo's main concern regarding Loona. He wasn't sure what to say at first. Blitzo has a point after all, Collin isn't strong enough to fend off Demons of any kind, he would be struggling even against regular Imps, unless he decided to work on his personal defensive and offensive skills, that if he has any. It is a very genuine concern and Collin couldn't help but share that feeling of worry for the Hellhound's safety.
"I understand your concern. I feel the same. I... you have my word, I will do my best to keep her safe... even if it means I will have to do things different."
"Huh, you better hope so. Something happens with her, you're dead." Blitzo looked towards the remains of his old phone scattered across the floor. "Urgh, it was old junk anyway. Get lost, I will clean this up. Also, if you want to start working on your usefulness, go ask Moxxie to teach you how to use guns and shit. The more you know, the less pathetic you will be."
Collin couldn't help the smile on his face, it was endearing to see Blitzo easing up on him for once. Or anyone for that matter.
"Sure, and... Blitzo?"
"What?"
"Thanks... for giving her a chance. Despite what Loona or the others think... you're different."
The Imp blinked, astonished by the unexpected words as he watched the wolf leave the room, closing the door way more gently than the Hellhound did.
"Well, not like that's been helping me much." Blitzo muttered bitterly to himself, his eyes shifting towards a small portrait over his desk. "Just don't lose her."
