Chapter 15

"Ugh I can't believe I got forced into this thing." Videl muttered to herself in her chair making Gohan laugh a bit.

"I know you dislike wearing 'girly' clothes but I didn't expect you to hate them this much." Gohan told her with a small smirk. Videl then glared over at him for a few seconds before speaking.

"You would hate it to if you were expected to wear stuff that not only makes you feel uncomfortable but also lowers your mobility. I mean it would just get in my way if I try to move even slightly more like a martial artist; let alone the fact that it would end up giving pervs all the panty shots they could ever want." Videl told him with a pout.

"Hmm I guess when you say it that way it makes sense." Gohan admits.

"Ya think. Honestly the sexism that women are required to wear dresses is way too old fashioned of a thought. I mean what's wrong with a suit or something? Speaking of which why do I have to wear this frilly dress while you mother gets to wear a kimono?" Videl asks. For Videl was wearing a light blue dress that matched her eye color that was covered in frills. Meanwhile Chichi was wearing a kimono that was basically a fancier version of her normal ones.

"Well to be honest I am not sure. We 'royals' usually don't bother trying to look fancy or anything like that and are mostly accepted seeing as our land has a lot of value on martial arts. So, I guess the geezers on the advisor board were ok with just making Mom's kimono look fancier. Not to mention most people are supposed to be focusing on us not them." Gohan told her with a small shrug.

"Tsk, whatever. Just don't expect me to wear this cutesy stuff all the time. Even if I am forced to be married it doesn't mean I have to be the 'perfect image' of a wife." Videl warned him. No matter what she refused to change what made her, her.

"Haha, I wouldn't dream of it. I am far from a fan of this garbage either. Thankfully we really don't have to deal with this all that much. Most of what grampa has to do to make the country run smoothly is sheer paperwork." Gohan told her. "But honestly I am surprised you aren't demanding more information or for me to answer questions."
"Oh don't worry you WILL be answering my questions…but even I know that this is far from the optimal place to do so. With all of the reporters biting at the bit to film this any slight mistake will be made into world news by tomorrow morning." Videl told him remembering how horrible reporters can be. For while it isn't all of them a lot of them would be more than happy to make someone a world-wide joke just for a few bucks. So, for both of their sake she chose to keep quiet and simply act like a princess. "Now how about we go talk to the rest of the group?" Videl asked making Gohan smile at her.

He then stood up and gently held out his hand to Videl surprising her a small bit. Still she accepted the help to keep the peace in front of the public but still had felt her face burn with embarrassment. The pair then walked down into the mass of people making small talk with a few of the officials and nobles as they passed until the finally reached their friends.

"Hey guys how are you doing?" Videl asks with a small smile even with the blush on her face. Afterall her hand was still gently placed in Gohan's acting as a loving betrothed pair.

"Videl! Oh you look great in this dress you should wear stuff like this all the time!" Erasa states happily.

"Oh no Erasa. You always try to get me into this stuff but you know how much I hate it. Hopefully I can live my life having to wear outfits like this only a handful of times at worst." Videl tells her firmly.

"Heh, now that's our Videl for ya. A true princess now but still more happy wearing her baggy fighting outfit than real fashion." Destiny states amused.

"You are damn right about that." Videl agreed with her showing a cocky smirk.

"Well you truly will fit in the family a lot more than I ever thought that you would." Mel tells Videl.

"I guess she is…but we'll have a lot more to talk about than just that real soon." Briana states only to get his in the side by Lime yet again.

"Don't go ruining the mood Bri! Videl is being nice enough to not make a mess out of this publicity stunt so you can at least not ruin things." She told her with a glare.

"Ok ok I was just stating a fact. Sheh." Bri tells her backing off.

"…anyways it is good to see you all dressed up Videl. You truly are showing off your beauty that you have been hiding all this time." Lime told her with a small smile.

"Uhh I guess?" Videl told her honestly not sure how to feel about that statement.

*cough* "Anyways it is good to see that you are doing so good right now. I know it is hard with the injury and with everything running through your mind. But I promise if you just give it some time everything will get better." Mel told her honestly. For while she honestly had no idea if Videl would end up accepting Gohan or working out a deal with their group; she still knew that they would have to tell her a good portion of the secrets they had. Figuring out how to explain his harem is Gohan's problem but she would make sure that Videl at least learned the truth about her family and their team of 'fakers'. At least that much information should subdue her detective's spirit and make her understand just why the public can never find out about it.

"I hope so…I never imagined that your family would end up changing my life so much." Videl told her. With all the things being revealed to her all of a sudden, she honestly didn't know what to think about first. And the headache that she currently had was not helping in the slightest.

"Don't worry Videl we aren't expecting you to adapt immediately. For now just have that bruise heal up and we will figure things out from there." Gohan told her honestly. After all he did feel attracted to her but he was still a proper gentleman like his mother forced him to be. While he couldn't just 'leave her alone' like he normally should with a girl not interested in him due to being royalty. He still would try his hardest to give her a situation that she could live with. It may not end up being perfect but he would try his best to keep her as happy as he could. At this time Miara came over to the group carrying a large amount of food with him. After seeing the group stare at him he uncaringly asked 'what?' with a small shrug. Though he did send a small smirk at Gohan who was eyeing the food enviously.

"Now now prince Gohan you surely were told to go mingle with the public rather than stuffing your face at this party." Miara told him happily.

"Yes you are quite right…but I think that I now also have to remember to tell Bulma how much you miss her home cooked meals when I see her next time." Gohan told him with a fake smile.

"Y-you wouldn't dare." Trunks muttered.

"Try me." Gohan told him with a glare.

*sigh* "Please don't make me suffer for my brother being an idiot…but he is right go mingle with others" Bri tells Gohan. Finally, he did just that and spent a good portion of the party time talking to various members of the Ox kingdom until he was finally able to sit down and talk some of the staff into bringing him some food. After all they refused to let him go over to the food table himself….partially because that is where he would try to stay for the rest of the night of course.

"Man I got the hang of these heels pretty fast thankfully but somehow I am still more tired than training has ever made me feel." Videl grumbles relaxing in her chair as far as she could while looking the part of a royal.

"Heh, these events do eat away at your mental stamina a lot more than something actually interesting." The Ox king agreed with her from his chair. Currently he was the only person other than the new couple that was sitting in their designated spot. Chichi was out talking to a few other woman seeming happy and the kids snuck over to food area and were eating as fast as they could while showing manners. And finally, Mel was still with her friends.

"Sorry about the annoyance again Videl. After all we put them through with not 'fitting the royal image' we have to give the people that help us a chance every now and then. Else I think that they would quit their jobs on us." Gohan told her with a small laugh. As stated, countless times before their country was a strange one. So, while his grandfather worked hard to make sure that his land and people was taken care of he also treated everyone the same way. The only time he changed was if he deemed you an enemy then he finally showed his 'aura' that made him famous as a 'dangerous king'.

But due to this he and the rest of the family had no interest in acting like a noble even though there were plenty of families that did so. Normally they would just ignore the events they were invited to if they could and only showed up publicly in required times. But a few of the parties and events they randomly accepted to go to in order to make the more 'old fashioned' thinking families happy.

AN: (This will be the last time I say this seeing as I feel like I am repeating it far too often already but meh it fits here to explain a bit more I feel)

"I guess it's fine but this still is just way too much for me to take in so fast." Videl admitted.

"You will have your time to think about thinks and I promise that I will answer all the questions you have and will have as best I can." Gohan told her with a caring smile.

"…thanks." Videl muttered a bit annoyed with herself that just that was enough to make her heart flutter a small bit. "This guy has literally shaken up my world and caused me enough headaches to last a life time but yet I still have my crush on him…the human mind is truly a wild thing." Videl thought. Still they continued to enjoy the party as best as they could while still keeping up the act that they were expected to do the whole time.

=Videl's friends=

*sigh* "Not only does he get to have my girl but he also managed to put her in a dress." Sharpener mutters depressed throwing some food into his mouth at a table.

"Man you are STILL feeling down about that? I thought you got over that during the match." Luke asked sitting down beside him.

"I can't help it. She is just so beautiful, rich, and I've known her basically all my life now. I can't just give up on my first love that easily." Sharpener tells him making Luke stare at him stunned.

"Hold up I get having a crush but you have been trying to get with her for YEARS now and she always has shown she had no interest in you. Why the hell have you even been thinking you had a chance with her to begin with after all the denials. I mean you have even dated several girls WHILE trying to confess to her." Luke told him. For while he didn't know Videl for as long he still saw more than enough of this act. He even saw Sharpener get slapped for trying to get a date with Videl while in a relationship before. In fact the only thing that stopped him from trying to stop the harassment was the girls including Videl shrugging it off as 'just what Sharpener does'.

"She was just playing hard to get all that time. I mean look at me. There is no way that THIS didn't have a chance with her. I mean I even had Mr. Satan compliment me several times. He would have loved to have me as a son-in-law." Sharpener told him make Luke glare at him.

"Ok enough I've let you go on with this stupidity for far too long man. As a friend I will say this in the nicest way possible…get your head out of your own ass!" Luke growled out surprising Sharpener. "You honestly think that Videl care about you more than a friend all this time? Quit joking yourself man. You might have a lot of girls eyeing you but she never has and never would have. Not to mention that just from listening to you I know for a fact you never actually loved her." Luke tells him.

"I lov-" Sharpener starts only to get cut off.

"No you didn't! You just forced yourself to think that you loved her while in a twisted sense you only loved yourself. Let's be honest even though you said that she is beautiful and talented that is ALL you have complimented her about. Everything else you thought about was benefits you would have gotten. I mean just now you even stated that she was rich and that you were going to be Mr. Satan's son in law. Can you wake up from your weird twisted love dream and realize just how horrible it actually is. Honestly man if you can't even do that then maybe you should just separate yourself form her before you do some dumb ass stunt." Luke ranted to him thankfully not being overheard. He then got up from the table and walked back to Destiny who was resting in a chair next to the rest of their group.

"…there is no way he is right…right?" Sharpener muttered thinking about his actions still a bit stunned that his long time guy friend chewed him out. "I loved Videl all this time I really did. I mean she looks so good when she saves everyone and is super popular…" Sharpner started to think then paused when he realized that he just did what Luke said and thought about the benefits Videl would give. "…ok forget that. But she has enough money to train all the…no that is money…but she is Videl Satan and has to have a strong man to show her dad…ok there HAS to be other things I love Videl for. I mean I even know her hobbies are…does she even like to do anything other than train and help the cops?" Sharpner thinks finally trying to figure out why he was so focused on Videl. His mind then went back years into the past back to when he finally started to notice girls.

*Sharpener years ago*

Years ago back when it was just Sharpener, Erasa, and Videl they were practically together all the time playing as kids. Course Videl was often training and showing off her learned moves that Sharpener quickly attempted to copy.

"Gah ha ha. Look at that the boy is already trying his hardest to learn the Satan style ways. You really should let him join my gym already." Mr. Satan told a man near him with a smile.

"…I don't know I mean I really don't want him to get hurt." Sharpener's dad told him honestly.

"Oh come on you already have been making sure he exercises so that he can be a sport star so what'll the difference be? I mean he is going to get hurt playing sports every now and then so he might as well train his pain tolerance some by fighting as well." Mr. Satan tells him.

"hmm, I don't know…" Sharpener's dad muttered clearly on the fence.

"Oh come on now just give it a try. Hell because we are all friends here I'll even wave the gym and training fees." Mr. Sharpner added.

"Well…ok then I guess. As long as you wanna do it bud." His dad states then looked over to Sharpener who smiled at him.

"Ya I wanna be strong like Videl!" Sharpener tells him with the smile still on his face.

"Hmph I hope you can keep up with me. It would be nice to have a sparring partner I am close with." Videl tells him. "You better train hard to stick with me." Videl told him with a smirk.

"You got it Videl I will prove I can stand by your side." Sharpener tells her then both her and Mr. Satan left.

"Well son you sure you want to go train with them?" Sharpener's dad asks seriously.

"You bet dad I will work hard to be on Videl's level so I can even protect her and Erasa like you said I should." Sharpener tells him with a smile that made his dad proud.

"Heh ok then who am I to get in your way. Besides I am sure you will benefit from having Videl by your side as well. And it seems that her dad is more than happy to put you on the path to keep up with her. Now make sure you thank him after all with how popular his gym is getting we are saving quite a lot by him giving us your lessons for free." Sharpener's dad tells him honestly.

"Ok dad."

*Flashback end*

After that day Sharpener focused on Videl as much as he could to catch up to her. In that time he found himself often blushing and thinking of her being pretty. His thoughts cleared up as he learned more and eventually understood that he had a crush on his childhood friend but even though he talked to her about it she made it clear that she had no interest in love. Respecting that he focused on training himself to keep up with her to at least support his love from the side as he could. As the years past he continued to this while thinking about what he could do to support her. Eventually it seemed his thoughts of supporting her was replaced with realizing that she had practically everything she needed but still was kind enough to help her friends whenever they needed something. With her helping them so much Sharpener always felt his crush stay at least in the back of his mind as he without even thinking about it filled his head with thoughts of all the things he has received from Videl. These thoughts evolved into thinking about just how many benefits he has staying with Videl.

"Man I guess I truly have twisted my crush on Videl huh?" Sharpener muttered leaning back in the chair. "..I think I need to really think about things for a while."

(AN: this is honestly a rough way to push for how focused Shaprener is on Videl but at least it makes sense to me as I wrote it. I truly hate characters that are obsessive for seemingly no reason. So, without taking too much more time (because I again find myself running out of time) found a way to make it make a bit of sense. Yes it is a stretch but in real life there are people obsessed for even less of a reason. But anyways this is me trying to have Sharpener be a decent character to keep in without just instantly having it happen for no reason)

= Girl's table=

"Come on Erasa tired of dancing already?" Lime asked teasingly getting a giggle from the girl.

"Heh, you might be able to outlast me in most exercises but I refuse to give up the crown of dance queen to anyone." Erasa told her with a smile as the rest of the girls laughed. "But honestly I just don't want to get in the way of everyone for this song." She told the group motioning around the dance floor where a bunch of couples were doing a slow dance together.

"What you really can't find a man that would want to do this dance with you?" Destiny asked knowing that it was anything but the truth.

"Bah I just don't wanna go through the effort to deal with some rando right now and one of our classmates would read into it too much. But anyways why aren't you dancing huh?" Erasa asks getting a shrug.

"Me and Luke have been dancing so much already that my feet are killing me. I think I've earned some time to relax my feet and I know Luke doesn't mind." Destiny explains.

"Fair enough. I wouldn't mind dancing more but people here know that I am close to Gohan and I am already tired of them trying to get close to him through me." Lime tells them.

"Ya, and I am getting real sick of seeing people stare at us when we dance together. There is no law stating that girls can't dance together." Bri grumbles.

"Hehe they just can't help but stare at two pretty girls so just ignore them." Erasa tells her with a small smile. "Oh and I've seen basically everyone from our class here besides your brother. You have any idea what he's up to?"

"Hmm? Miara. Oh his is over there." Bri tells them pointing over to a food table where he was practically eating everything.

"Well he seems to be…enjoying himself." Erasa states holding in a laugh at how ridiculous he looked with a massive pile of empty plates around him.

"Ya well he has to do something other than stare longingly at his crush that he still hasn't worked out the courage to ask out." Bri tells them getting them curious.

"Oh I think we all already know but who is the lucky girl that has gotten the focus of your brother's eyes?" Destiny asks with a knowing smirk.

"As you guessed lover boy has been crushing on Mel for ages now but just can't work himself up to telling her…it's a shame seeing as she is the same way. Except as far as I know she fell in love right when she first saw him." Bri tells the group who all laugh a bit. Bri told them this because she found out only after they came back the second time where they wound up being closer to Mel and Gohan's age. After all when they first came from the future she was far too focused on defeating the androids to notice a little girl having puppy love on a much older teen. And now it has become something that she tried not to think about too much seeing as the age difference when they first met made even her love of Gohan feel a bit strange.

"Heh so I guess yet another great catch is going to be taken before I can work my magic." Erasa stated clearly not actually upset.

"Don't worry girl with your looks you can go after any other guy you want out there." Destiny tells her with a gentle pat on the back.

"Ya know you are right! You girls might get to feel proud for finding amazing catches but I will have the last laugh! Just you wait I'll find the best guy out there!" Erasa tells them determined. The group stayed quiet for a second before they all started laughing.

"Hey what's so funny?" Luke asks pulling a chair over to their table.

"Oh just an inside joke. Now why'd you come over here? I thought you wanted to talk to Sharpener for a bit." Lime told him making him let out a heavy sigh.

"I did talk to him but he is being an ass so I figured I'd come back to the group of friends who are actually having fun still. That is if you gals are okay with me interrupting your 'girl chat'." Luke told them with a smirk.

"Of course you are welcome to join us. With who we know wears the pants in your relationship you might as well call yourself the girl of it anyways." Bri tells him getting the rest of the girls to laugh.

"Hey! Not cool." Luke told her but waved off the teasing insult soon after.

After this the time passed rather quickly as everyone enjoyed various things at the party. Videl and Gohan spent time switching between talking to friends, nobles, and classmates. Meanwhile the rest of their friend group simply had fun the whole time as best they could. All except Sharpener who seemed to be more lost in his own thoughts for a good portion of the night. Finally, the nobles and people who actually were part of the kingdom enjoyed talking to each other and seeing the royal family for once just as the students were doing on their end. But after a while the party came to an end and with that the final hours of the long school trip came closer and closer. Not that the tired class thought about this as they went to their rooms to rest and sleep off their exhaustion.

+Next morning; front of castle+

"Thank you for coming to experience life in the Ox kingdom. I hope that all of you have learned a lot about the truth of our kingdom. We welcome you to visit any of our towns again whenever you please." A butler tells class kindly as all the kids watched.

"Yes this trip has been very informative and surprising at the same time. I don't think I will ever experience a trip quite like this one again in my career." A teacher told the man glancing over to Gohan and Videl. He then wasted no time telling the students to enter the bus with their luggage.

*cough* "Mr. Son…Prince Son a moment of your time please." The teacher asked as soon as he could find a time to pull him to the side.

"Oh you don't have to treat me any different professor. One of the reasons we kept this a secret for so long was so I could live the life of a normal teenager after all." Gohan told him.

"Is that so…well I suppose I will inform the teachers of your desires but I don't know if we will be able to treat you quite like the others. After all while Miss Satan was technically royalty their title was in name only. So, this is the first time any of us have experienced teaching a real member of royalty. Honestly it is something I never thought I would be able to say I did in all of my years of teaching." The teacher told him honestly. "Anyways I am sure that you expected it but with this surprise being laid on us I am sure that the principal will at least want to speak with you…probably bout a lot of the same concerns that I had." He added.

*sigh* "Ya, I assumed as much." Gohan told him with a heavy sigh. "Don't worry I will go to the principals office as soon as I can next school day." Gohan told him getting no real response from the teacher. Something he assumed came partially due to him still being overwhelmed, stressed, and tired all at the same time. So, he simply went back into the group that were getting onto the bus.

When all the students finally were on the bus most of the students were glancing towards Gohan. And as soon as the bus started on the long journey back the teens close to them found it was the perfect time to ask several questions to Gohan. Who being the nice guy he was; tried to answer the questions he could.

"Oh man this is going to be a long trip back." Mel, Bri, Miara, and Lime all think with a sigh. After all while the rest of the class was more than happy to learn more about why there was a prince in their school. They all already knew everything so it was nothing but boring talk to them. But the bus teachers on the bus were just as curious so they left the kids to their questions even though it was distracting.

Ya, so I know that I had some run on lines and other problems with this chapter but honestly I don't truly care. While I might be able to think about a fix in the future; at this moment I truly can't. So, we will just have to live with my bad grammar. Something I am sure many of you have already gotten use to/sick off already.

Anyways that is where I am going to end this chapter. I am decently happy with how the trip went overall and now that it is over the real show an get on the road. So, Happy Easter for those that do it and I hopefully won't run out of time to write for the next chapter. Ja Ne.
