Before we enter the Kingdom of Corona, we see Maleficent gather with some of her fellow villains.
As for the Kingdom of Corona, some scenes will be just like Kingdom Hearts III, but I will add in more stuff from the movie.
Enjoy!
Also, over 80 reviews?! Awesome! Thank you all so much!
Castle That Never Was:
The next day, Maleficent, Pete, Mortimer, Magica, and Negaduck were at the head of a long grey table in a new section of the castle. This was where Maleficent's villains gathered for their own meetings as the Organization either gathered in the Throne Room or the pillars at the Keyblade Graveyard.
Negaduck wore an attire similar to Darkwing Duck's, only the jacket was yellow with black buttons, the undershirt and hat were red, and his mask was black.
Gathered around were several other villains.
One was a skinny rat wearing a yellow electronics suit with blue rubber gloves and boots, an orange helmet with spark plugs on top, a blue belt with an electronic cord wrap attached to it, a giant red battery pack on his back held by blue straps, and blue goggles. It was one of Darkwing's enemies, Megavolt.
Another was a duck wearing a jester costume consisting of a purple shirt with the right sleeve red with orange lines going down and the left sleeve orange with red spots, a white jester collar, a yellow belt, lavender pants, dark red curly shoes, and a jester hat that was purple of their left and red on the right with gold bells attached at the ends. It was another one of Darkwing's enemies, Quackerjack.
Another was a dog made completely out of water. It was another one of Darkwing's enemies, Liquidator.
Another was also a duck, but he was a duck/plant hybrid. He was a slim green duck with leaves for feathers, dark green root-like legs, and lavender hair like a plant. It was another one of Darkwing's enemies, Bushroot.
Another villain was a tall yellow rooster with red feathers on his head and long teal tailfeathers, yellow eyes, and wore a 20's gangster outfit which consisted of a white jacket, a red collared button-up shirt underneath, a black bowtie, blank pants, and black dress shoes with white claps. The most noticeable thing about him was that his beak was metal. He was Steelbeak, one of Darkwing's enemies and a former FOWL agent.
Another villain was a tall black heron with a long yellow beak, teal eyeshadow, blacker hair that reached her shoulders, a red headband and long-sleeved dress, and tall white boots. Lucky Bucky, one of her arms was a metalci arm. But unlike Bucky, it was her right arm instead of her left one, and it was more robotic and had claws. Like Violet, her name was what she was: Black Heron, another former FOWL agent.
Another villain was a tall, slender woman. She looked like she was in her 40's even though she was much older than that. She had long curly black hair, grey eyes with brown eyeshadow, brown fingernails, a long crimson dress with gold trimming alongside a matching sash with a gold buckle, brown buckled shoes, and black coat with a gold clip. She was known as Mother Gothel.
Another villain was an old woman that looked really ugly and creepy with lavender skin and wore a purple dress. She was known as Yzma.
Another villain was someone Maleficent and Pete knew well. He had blue skin and blue flaming "hair". His eyes were completely yellow except for his black pupils. He had very sharp teeth and an unnatural black mouth. His face was quite long and thin, with his chin jutting out abruptly. His fingers were long, thin, and clawed. He wore what appears to be a dark grey shirt underneath a black toga, the latter of which seemed to be held up by a small skull pin on his right shoulder. It was Hades, Lord of the Dead.
Another villain was a thin, fully grown lioness with dusty brown fur, a dark stripe mark on her forehead, and a notch on her right ear. Her angular eyes were red, and her nose was black. The fur on either side of her face was long, forming two triangular points. Her muzzle was also longer than the average lion's, with the fur at the end of her chin scruffy. Her front claws were always extended. She was known as Zira, Scar's old friend and love.
Another villain was a red cobra with a creamy-tan underside and narrow purple markings. He had two circular markings the same color as his underside on his hood, which was a paler shade of red than his body, with two more purple markings inside them. He had purple zig-zags throughout his tail. It was Ushari, a Pride Lander who had joined the Outlands when Scar's spirit was resurrected.
"Thank you all for attending our meeting." said Maleficent.
"Should we be concerned that not everyone showed up?" asked Mortimer.
"Yeah. I do recall that we had more." added Pete.
Negaduck glanced over at the two. "In case you imbeciles forgot, we lost three allies already at the hands of those meddling world-travelers along with some of their so-called friends." he bluntly reminded.
"Ooh, right." nodded Pete, remembering that Sa'luk, Rourke, and Helga were dead.
"Aside from those three, everyone else is busy with their own plans in their own worlds." said Magica.
"But at least the rest of you had the decency to show up." said Maleficent.
"Hey, I always did back in the old group." said Hades, smirking.
"As for the rest of us, we always know when to show up on time." said Heron before glancing at Steelbeak. "Some, more than others."
"Cool yourself Heron." said Steelbeak with a dismissing wave. "The important thing is to at least show up, am I right?"
Heron rolled her eyes.
"So where are we in regards to those brats?" asked Yzma.
"Stick to how we usually try to handle them." said Maleficent.
"That's it?" Megavolt asked in disbelief. "No other elaborate plans to destroy them?!"
"We need seven of them alive, you ingrate." Zira growled, making Megavolt cower a bit.
"Yeah, don't get your spark plugs in a twist." said Mortimer. "Sticking with what we got usually works out in the end… even though it hasn't really recently."
"How are we in regards to allies?" asked Magica, ignoring Mortimer.
"You got the six of us from St. Canard." Quackerjack said proudly.
"We know that, clown." grunted Hades.
"I'm not a clown!" Quakcerjack said indignantly. "I am a toy maker."
"Whatever." hissed Ushari. "Makcuha and his army are resting right now after Kion's Roar blasted them away from the Tree of Life. And we're still trying to track down Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, and their clan." he informed Maleficent.
"What about Duckburg?" Liquidator asked Magica. "Did you find more help Magica?"
"I did… just not what I was hoping for." Magica replied.
"What's wrong with the help you brought?" asked Bushroot, curious.
"Ma Beagle knows how to handle things, but the sons she recruited to help us aren't really the brightest in the pack." Magica replied.
"I know how she feels." said Negaduck as he glanced at the other members of the Fearsome Five.
"Hey, I know how to really brighten up a room!" said Megavolt, crackling some electricity.
"At least Ma Beagle contacted the Beagle Babes to help us, and they have the same competence as she does." grunted Magica. "Don Carnage is a decent pirate, but an annoyance with his singing."
"At least some of us have decent singing voices." said Zira as she, Ushari, and Gothel smirked.
"Mark Beaks isn't violent, bar that one time as Mega Beaks, but he does have necessary technology." Magica continued. She then sighed in irritation. "And of course, there's-"
Suddenly, the doors burst open and in came a heft duck who was obviously faking a bent position, wearing a green Scottish kilt, a navy blue jacket with a single gold button, a brown vest, a tan shirt underneath, a dark brown tie, red spats, glasses, and a green Scottish hat.
"FLINTHEART GLOMGOLD!" he shouted, cackling in an insane manner as he sat down.
"Remind me again why he's on our side?" Gothel deadpanned.
"He may be the dumber than the dummies, but he does have a decent amount of darkness in his heart." said Heron.
"And I'm rich and powerful like Scrooge!" added Glomgold. "And soon, I will be the Richest Duck in the World!"
"That is if you win your bet." snarked Megavolt.
"Which is highly unlikely given your incompetence." added Yzma.
"What?! How dare you?!" Glomgold said indignantly.
"That's enough." said Maleficent. "Now then, any questions?"
Bushroot raised his hand.
"Uh yes. How will we be able to take down those heroes if they keep taking us out?" he asked.
"He has a point." said Steelbeak. "With Sa'luk, Rourke, and Helga dead, we'll be in big trouble if this keeps happening."
"Which is why I have a back-up plan." said Maleficent with an evil grin.
"Ooh! Do tell Maleficent!" said Glomgold.
"As you all know, in addition to the leopards, komodo dragons, porcupines, and bintourag, we recently got ourselves two new allies." she explained. "One, despite his imprisonment, still holds immense dark power he has carried with him for centuries. The other is just as incompitent as Flintheart, though a little bit smarter."
"Hey!" Glomgold shouted.
"Oh that's right!" said Quackerjack. "That insane demon Felldrake!"
"He's evil, not insane." corrected Liquidator.
"And his descendant, that idiot Baron Von Shellgoose." added Heron.
"Felldrake has been instructing Shellgoose in helping me and Magica work on a special… resurrection spell." Maleficent continued.
This sparked everyone's interest.
"Resurrection?" questioned Zira. "Do you mean…?"
"The process is difficult as many ancient spells are, especially this one," said Maleficent. "But in due time, the four of us will be able to bring back to life more help."
"You mean we can get Sa'luk, Rourke, and Helga back?" asked Pete.
"Depends on how that goes." said Hades. "I would help, but after my past experience resurrecting the dead to complete life only for him to turn all traitor on me, I'm leaving this to the professionals… even though that former Institute President isn't one."
"Though sometimes the spells don't work in our favor," said Magica.
"Aside from those three, we will be able to bring back some more of my fallen allies." said Maleficent.
"You mean like Scar?" Zira asked.
"And Jafar?" asked Pete.
"Indeed." Maleficent replied. "But then again, our results may vary."
"Now that sounds fun." smirked Gothel. She then got up. "With that said, I must go. I have a certain 'flower' to attend to. Good day everyone."
"Farewell Gothel." said Maleficent.
Gothel then walked off.
"Her and her 'flower.'" scoffed Yzma.
"It's the only thing keeping her alive, like those Druid Stones at Castle McDuck." reminded Heron.
"So when will the dead be brought back?" asked Glomgold.
"The process takes a while." said Maleficent. "Until then, continue with the normal tactics. Report to me or the Organization if there's anything to report. For now, dismissed."
The villains all nodded as they left the room. Maleficent was all alone when an Organization member teleported in. It was Marluxia.
"How was the meeting?" he asked.
"Better than the last one, I will admit that." the evil fairy replied. "How can I help you Marluxia?"
"Sora and his team are in the vicinity of the world I was monitoring, the one where we have found… a new Princess of Light."
That sparked Maleficent's interest. "Interesting… just like Atlantis." she mused. "Take two of my fellow villains with you."
"You know I can handle myself Maleficent." said Marluxia. "We Organization members do get stronger as we train and actually fight."
"That I don't doubt." said Maleficent.
Marluxia smirked.
"But Xehanort requested that it would be better safe than sorry." she continued.
"Very well." said Marluxia. "I'll find two of your allies to assist me. But even so, I can still handle myself."
"We all know that." Maleficent replied.
As Marluxia opened up a Corridor of Darkness, Maleficent spoke ip.
"Are you sure we haven't met before, Marluxia?" she asked.
"Why would you ask that?" the Graceful Assassin asked.
"You remind me of someone I once met many years ago." Maleficent replied as she looked at Marluxia suspiciously. (1)
Marluxia smirked. "I probably just have one of those faces like Axel with that spy Reno." he replied. "Perhaps it is my personality that is triggering some memories you have of someone else."
"That is quite the possibility." nodded Maleficent.
Marluxia then walked through the corridor.
Lanes-In-Between:
Kairi sailed the Gummiship across the worlds. Sora sat in the weapon's chair while Aqua sat in the co-pilot's chair. Everyone else sat behind them, chatting to one another.
"Three worlds in and we got a decent amount of members for our army." remarked Sora.
"Even though we only got six new Keyblade wielders, all of them are pretty good at fighting." nodded Terra.
"I'm just glad that Cookie allowed us to bring food to them." said Myde, shuddering. "I really don't like that bacon grease."
"Aside from Mole, who does?" asked Naminé, shuddering as well.
"Changing the subject, how long will Goldie be staying with us?" asked Xion.
"Dunno actually." Mickey replied.
"Think she'd be a good addition to the Army of Light?" asked Lea. "She may be a con artist, but she does have good skills."
"Probably." shrugged Goofy. "We should talk to her about it."
"Come to think of it, why don't we ask the rest of the Duck slash McDuck family to join us?" suggested Sora.
Everyone pondered that idea.
"Well, Uncle Scrooge is a good fighter, Uncle Ludwig is good with his inventions, Mrs. B is a well-trained retired spy, and Launchpad… well I guess he can fight when needed." said Donald.
"What about the kids?" asked Sora. "You know, the Duckburg Six?"
"That is such a nice name for those kids." Aqua said fondly.
"Well…" Donald pondered, unsure. "I mean, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby were great fighters during the Shadow War and almost every other adventure with Uncle Scrooge, Lena's skilled with magic, and the boys and Webby have been teaching Lena and Violet fighting moves… then again… this isn't really like the Shadow War…"
"Magica's still involved." reminded Goofy.
"Right…" said Donald.
Aqua could tell that Donald was unsure.
"Donald, I know that the last thing you want is for your kids to be in danger." she said gently. "The same goes for all of us. But they are good at fighting and defending themselves."
"And they wouldn't be alone." Sora added. "They'd be fighting alongside us."
"You guys do have good points…" Donald nodded. "Well… I think I'll ask when I think the time is right."
Everyone smiled at Donald.
"Good on ya Donald." said Lea, patting the mage's back, getting a smile in return.
Just then, the radar beeped.
"What do we got Jiminy?" asked Riku.
"Another new world." the cricket replied as he scanned the radar. "One I've never seen before."
"And here it comes." said Kairi.
Everyone looked and saw the world through the window. The top of the world had a very tall tower made out of whitish-yellow bricks and a purple roof. The land below it was grassy with some large rocks surrounding it. The bottom of the world across a first was what looked like a village with a large castle where several bright orangish objects floated around it.
"This looks like a nice world." said Xion.
"It looks really pretty." mused Daisy. "What's it called Jiminy?"
Jiminy studied the radar. "According to this, it's called the Kingdom of Corona."
"Interesting name." mused Terra.
Kairi parked the ship.
"Everyone ready?" she asked.
At everyone's nod, Jiminy pressed the button with his feet and watched as the 20 Keyblade Masters disappeared in a flash of light.
Kingdom of Corona:
20 beams came down from the sky as Sora and Co. saw that they were in what appeared to be a forest. Trees, flowers, and bushes were everywhere.
"Wow, would you look at this place?" Lea asked in awe.
"It's so beautiful." said Kairi with a smile.
"And I thought Snow White's world was beautiful." mused Aqua, thinking back to the Dwarf Woodlands.
"Gosh, this is a nice peaceful forest." mused Mickey.
As they walked along, Goofy looked up at the sun, covering it with his hand.
"It sure is a pretty day." he mused.
"I'll say." Max nodded.
Sora smiled as he placed his arms behind his back. "Yeah, the weather is great. It'd be perfect for a picnic." he said in agreement.
"Didn't the kids say they were gonna go on one?" Minnie asked Daisy.
Daisy nodded. "Yeah. And the scenery out here reminds me of the perfect weather back home before we left."
"Why do you think we came here?" asked Donald.
"Got me Donald." Sora replied.
"Besides, the Gummiship can send us down to the most peculiar of places without punching in coordinates." added Mickey, thinking back to when they appeared in Andy's Room in the Toy Box and the giant ship in Atlantis.
"We'll figure it out as we go." said Goofy.
"Okay." nodded Donald.
"It is a world that the Gummiship detected was covered in darkness." said Terra.
"Luckily, we're here to help." Ven said confidently, making Aqua, Naminé, Xion, and Minnie giggle.
"Fine with me, as long as there's no Heartless." said Donald.
No sooner did Donald say that, they heard what sounded like a man screaming. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks.
"Who was that?" asked Oswald.
As if to answer his question, a man tumbled down behind them all. They all turned around and saw a young man with brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He wore a long-sleeved white shirt rolled up to his forearms, with a turquoise vest on top. He has a small satchel belted around his waist on the left side, brown pants and boots. He also wore a larger brown satchel over his shoulder.
"Oh my goodness!" exclaimed Minnie.
"Sir, are you alright?" asked Kairi, concerned.
Before the man could reply, he looked up and exclaimed in fright as Heartless jumped from the cliffs. There were Puffballs, Bizarre Archers, Gargoyles, and Maragoyles.
The man quickly got up and ran just as the Heartless landed and chased after him.
"Make way! Make way! Make way!" he yelled as he ran past the group, who gladly separated so he could get through just as the Heartless stopped.
"Heartless!" exclaimed Sora as he summoned Favorite Deputy.
Riku summoned Skull Noise, Kairi summoned Destiny's Embrace, Aqua summoned Stroke of Midnight, Terra summoned Mark of a Hero, Ven summoned Fairy Stars, Roxas summoned Twilight Blaze, Naminé summoned Shooting Star, Lea summoned Flame Liberator, Xion summoned Darker Than Dark, Isa summoned Blue Moon, Myde summoned Mystic Water, Mickey summoned Kingdom Key W, Donald summoned Rising Dragon and Unbound, Goofy summoned Smasher and Royal Radiance, Minnie summoned Starlight, Daisy summoned Spellbinder, Max summoned Fenrir, Oswald summoned Classic Tone, and Ortensia summoned Zero/One.
The man quickly hid behind a large rock. He looked back and saw the 20 ready for battle.
"You see? Son as you mention 'em, they show up!" Sora said to Donald, teasingly.
"There goes our picnic." Goofy commented.
"I didn't do it!" Donald quacked indignantly.
"Chill out Donald." chuckled Lea. "We're just messing around."
"Yeah, no need to get your tailfeathers in a twist." added Oswald.
"Let's send these guys packing." Sora said determinedly.
"Fine by me." said Roxas.
"Say, since you lot seem to know what you're doing, mind if I leave this one to you?" the man called.
"Yup. We'll take care of them!" said Sora.
"Find someplace safe to stay!" said Aqua.
"You have my thanks." the man said before sighing in relief. "The horse was enough. Don't need any monsters on my trail." he muttered.
"The what was enough?" came Donald's voice, making the man jump.
The man peared out from the rock. "Oh, nothing, nothing." he quickly replied. "Name's Flynn. Flynn Rider."
"Nice to meet ya." said BVen.
"Ooh, look out! They look mad!" Flynn said as he pointed ahead, making everyone get back into fighting positions.
With all of them distracted, Flynn began to tiptoe away from the scene.
"Slowly… Slowly… Outta here!" he said as he ran off.

Kairi rushed at some Gargoyles, using Flower Shoot to weaken them. Kairi then slashed them further before she used Warp to finish them off. Ven used Aeroga to launch some Puffballs into the air. Ven then aimed his Keyblade in the air and used Exo Spark to destroy them mid-air. Mickey fired orbs of light at some Bizzare Archers as they tried to get near him. Mickey then double somersaulted into the air and used Exo Spark to eliminate them. Lea fired various Firaga spells at some Maragoyles that flew near him. Lea then held his Keyblade up and unleashed Mega Flare, blasting them away. Oswald flew around striking several Puffballs with his Keyblade. When he was suddenly surrounded by four of them, Oswald unleashed a Pulse Tracer spell, taking them out entirely. Terra bashed away some Gargoyles with his Keyblade before he used Quake to weaken them. Terra then finished them off by casting Ice Barrage, icing them into smithereens. Donald slashed at some Puffballs with his Keyblade before he fired Sparkaga at them. Donald was then surrounded by some more and used his staff to cast Wateraga, blasting them away. Goofy performed Goofy-Tornado on some Bizzare Archers, knocking them back several feet. Goofy then used his Keyblade to destroy them with a Thunder Tracer spell. Riku blasted orbs of darkness against some Maragoyles as he dodged their attacks. Riku then used Transcendence to bring them up into the air and then casted Thundaga to destroy them.

Roxas slashed at some Gargoyles before he blasted them with a Tornado Tracer spell. Roxas then backflipped into the air and performed a Triple Plasma spell against them. Naminé dodged some Bizzare Archers arrows before she blasted them back with a Dark Firaga spell. The blonde-haired girl then Zero Gravity on them before she blasted them away with a Crawling Fire spell. Xion jumped high and spun around, slashing some Maragoyles that flew at her. Xion then casted Blackout so they couldn't see and then unleashed a Triple Pursuit spell that annihilated them. Minnie blasted some Puffballs with a Firaga Burst spell. When she came across four of them, Minnie used Glacier to freeze them in place and then destroyed them with her Faith magic. Daisy slashed at some Bizzare Archers before she was surrounded by four of them. Quickly, Daisy casted Bind to hold them in place and then Thundaga Shot to eliminate them. Max jumped around dodging some Puffballs as he blasted them back with orbs of light. When he was surrounded by five of them, Max casted Aeroga to lift them into the air and blasted them away with a Thundaga Shot spell. Ortensia dodged some more Bizarre Archers as she deflected the arrows with her Keyblade, spinning it around like a bo staff. Ortensia then blasted away the Heartless with Perlza spells, blasting them into oblivion. Myde dodged some of the Gargoyles' attacks as he slashed them with his Keyblade. He quickly sent some water pillars back at them, crashing them against the cliffside. Isa used his Moonlight spells to blast away some Maragoyles while also slaying them back. Isa then casted Raging Storm, the shockwave pushing away the Maragoyles before destroying them.
Seeing that there were still several maragoyles left, Donald and Goofy looked at each other.
"Wanna give them the Lighting Cyclone?" Donald asked.
"I'm all for that! A-hyuck!" chuckled Goofy.
Donald flipped up just as Goofy placed his shield right above his head for the mage to land on.
"Ready? Here goes!" the knight shouted.
Goofy blasted off into the air. Both he and Donald were spinning at increasing speed with electricity surrounding them as Donald held out his staff and Keyblade. Eventually, they spun around so fast, blue light formed at the tip of Donald's weapons and green light formed around Goofy's weapons, turning the mage and knight into a small tornado of blue, green, and electrical energy. They blasted towards the ground and pierced through the Heartless. The tornado headed up the in the air before smashing down onto the ground, exploding the Heartless away.
(Vexen First Boss Fight from Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories ends)
With all the Heartless gone, everyone dismissed their Keyblades, staff, and shield.
"Nice combo move you two!" Sora complimented.
"Gawrsh, thanks Sora." said a flattered Goofy.
"Where did you learn a move like that?" asked an impressed Lea.
"During the Shadow War." replied Donald.
"It was amazing." said Daisy.
"I'll say." nodded Myde.
Sora then noticed that something was amiss.
"Huh? Where'd Flynn go?" he asked.
Everyone looked around and saw that Sora was right.
"He skedaddled." said Donald.
"I think I saw him go thataway." said Goofy as he pointed in one direction.
"Huh? But 'thataway' is… just a dead end." Sora said in confusion.
"Yeah. That's puzzling." Goofy nodded, scratching the side of his head.
"Well, did he?" asked Donald.
"I say we investigate." said Sora.
"Hey guys, come check this out!" called Roxas.
Everyone looked over at Roxas and saw that he was standing near a tree with two wanted posters on it.
"What's up Roxas?" asked Ven.
"Look who's wanted." said Roxas as he pointed to the top poster.
Everyone's eyes widened when they saw that on the picture was…
"Flynn?" Sora, Goofy, Ven, Mickey, and Minnie said in surprise.
"He's a thief?" asked Donald, shocked.
"Apparently." said Lea. He studded the picture some more. "Although… they screwed up his nose."
"He's right." said Xion. "He doesn't have a nose like that."
"Funny. He didn't look like a thief." said Myde.
"Neither did Aladdin, but he did wear Arabiran clothes and stole to survive. Abu too." reminded Roxas.
"Maybe he's a gentleman thief." suggested Goofy. "Y'know, like Robin Hood." (2)
"Or Danny Ocean." added Naminé. (3)
"Or Bo Darville and Cledus Snow." added Oswald. (4)
"Not all charismatic thieves have good hearts, you know!" Donald scolded. "We know far too many scoundrels!"
"Take it easy Donald." Mickey said gently. "I think we should take a closer look before we judge."
"Mickey's right." said Sora. "Plus, I think that Flynn isn't the kind of scoundrel you're thinking of, given that he was being chased by the Heartless."
"That was odd on it's own." nodded Riku.
"But I think these two are the kind of scoundrels your thinking of Donald." said Roxas as he gestured to the other poster.
Everyone looked and saw that on the other wanted poster was a drawing of two men that looked like twins, though one had a scar and an eyepatch.
"The Stabbington Brothers." read Oswald.
"They're seriously named 'Stabbington'?" Ortensia asked in disbelief.
"Apparently." shrugged Terra.
"You're right Roxas, they do look like the kind of scoundrels." said Donald.
"They're no Virgil and Turk Malloy." nodded Daisy. (3)
"Come on." said Sora. "We should investigate that path Goofy said Flynn went down."
Everyone nodded as they walked on.
During the battle:
While the 20 Keyblade Masters were dealing with the Heartless, Flynn had managed to sneak away through a tunnel concealed by a curtain of ivy. He soon came across a wide clearing enclosed on all other sides by a cliff. Some trees and bushes were everywhere with a thin waterfall flowing down a cliff at the back, leading to a winding stream.
What caught Flynn's attention was a tower in the center of it all. It appeared to be at 100 feet tall. Much of the wall was covered in moss. The roof was purple and wider than the test of the tower and was cylindrical, aside from and alcove jutting out of the side. In front of it, halfway up the height of the top floor. was a large window large enough for a person to walk through if they were able to somehow get up there.
Flynn approached the tower and walked around it to find an entrance, only to see that there wasn't one. He looped around back to the front and saw the window, smirking.
'That should be safe enough until the guards and those weird creatures give up and go home.' he thought.
Using two arrows he kept in his belt satchel, he began to climb up the tower by jabbing them in between the bricks. When he reached the window, he pulled himself in. He then closed the double wooden doors behind him.
It was an interesting room in the tower. There was a white marble fireplace with a set of red curtains above it. On the right side there was a stairway that went up to a balcony that led into a door flanked by some more curtains. Beneath the balcony there was another door. Under the stairwell there were shelves with pits, cups, and plates, and in front there was a dinner table, chair with a read backing and seat, and a kitchen table. To the left of the window, there was a mirror stand and a blue-painted closet. Beyond that, there was another window. Each inch of the walls was covered in beautiful paintings.
Flynn sighed in relief as he unslung the large satchel from his shoudler and opened it to admire his steal.
"Alone at last." he muttered to himself.
CLANG!
Flynn fell forward with a funny expression on his face, uncocnious. A young woman stood behind him. She looked to be 17 or 18 years old. She had green eyes, fair skin, light freckles around her nose, wore a purple dress that went down to her ankles with white sleeves, and was barefoot. The most noticeable thing about her was her golden blonde hair. It was 70 feet long, the strands bunched together so that there wasn't a single split end, and the hair gathered like a long, thick rope.
She was also frying a frying pan over her head and looked scared. She let out a high-pitched squeal and ran back to hide behind a mannequin torso.
The girl rolled the mannequin as she inched closer towards the intruder to get a closer look. Stepping out from behind the mannequin torso, she lowered herself down towards the man, tapping him on the back of the head with her frying pan to see if he would respond. When he didn't she shared a glance with someone.
It was a little green chameleon with brown eyes. He just shrugged.
The girl used the pan to push the man's head to the side. She looked at the chameleon, who went over to a red painted picture on the floor of a person with sharp teeth. The respite turned red while using it's toes to imitate fangs.
The girl used the handle to lift open Flyyn's mouth, only to see he had no fangs. She then pushed the bangs out of his face. When she got a good look at his face, she stared in awe, admiring the handsome spectacle.
Then, he opened his eye, which scared the girl again as she gasped before quickly hitting him unconscious with the frying pan again.
Realizing that she had an unconscious stanger, who may have been like one of the dangerous men her mother had warned her about her entire life, she quickly dragged the man towards her closet with her hair. But getting him inside it was easier said than done.
First, she tried to push him in, flat on his stomach, only to crash the top of his back into the bottom part of the closet, making her struggle some more before she fell on her front.
Next, she tried to swing him in by tying him up in her hair and swing him inside. The doors did ashut as she landed from the rafters, but the doors were closed on her hair. She tried to pull it out, but to no avail as she slumped her forehead against the closet doors.
Then, she stood in front of Flynn as he laid upside down, wondering what she should do next.
She then tried to push him in quickly before closing the doors. She smiled in satisfaction as she began to walk away, dusting her hands, only for Flynn to burst through the doors, and flop down on top over her, making her yelp.
She then pushed him inside the closet with a broom before shoving herself against him before quickly closing the doors… only to discover that she closed them on four of his fingers. Cringing at that, she pushed the fingers through.
She then quickly brought over a green chair and pinned it against the handles before holding out the frying pan in front of her.
"Okay, okay, okay. I've got a person in my closet. I've got a person… in my closet." she muttered to herself nervously. She then looked at herself in the mirror as he realized the flipside of what she just did. "I've got a person in my closet!" she repeated, this time proudly. "Too weak to handle myself out there, huh, Mother?" she bragged, flourishing her frying pan and chucking. "Tell that to my frying pan-" she cut herself off when she tried to spin the pan in her hand but accidentally hit herself in the eye. She recoiled from the hit and rubbed the pain away.
While she was doing this, she noticed the open satchel in the mirror's reflection. She reached into it and took out a gold band studded with small pearls, rubies and sapphires. There were three teardrop-shaped diamond insets on the front. It was a tiara. Curious as to what it was for, she put it around her arm, but it was far too big as the chameleon shook his head. She then peered through the diamonds at the chameleon, but her pet shook his head. She then put the band upon her head. The crown fit perfectly on her head, and she certainly looked regal, but even though the chameleon was staring in awe, he shook his head once more, still not sure.
"Rapunzel!" came a voice from outside of the tower. Rapunzel quickly hid the crown and the satchel in a pot and ran over to open the window.
"Let down your hair," the woman's voice continued in a sing-song tone.
"One moment, Mother," Rapunzel called back. She threw her hair over a hook hanging out over the window and let the rest of it fall down to the woman's level. It was none other than Mother Gothel, who had just returned from The Castle That Never Was. She was holding a withere basket full of stuff she had bought prior to the meeting.
"I've got a big surprise," Gothel shouted as she grabbed hold of the hair.
"I do too," Rapunzel said, walking backward as she pulled on her end of the hair.
"I bet my surprise is bigger," Gothel teased as she ascended the tower.
"I really doubt it," the Rapunzel muttered to herself.
By then, Gothel was all the way up to the window. She let go of the hair and sat down on the ledge.
"I brought back parsnips. I'm going to make hazelnut soup for dinner. Your favorite. Surprise!" Gothel said with a cheerful tone and a theatrical flair.
"Well, Mother, there's something I wanted to tell you, so—" Rapunzel began, or at least tried to. Earlier that day, she had asked her mother to take her to the outside world for her birthday the next day so they could watch the festival where lanterns were sent to float through the sky, something which happened every year on the night of her birthday. However, Gothel rejected her wish and, to deter her further, sang another one of her lectures about how the outside world was full of dangers such as wild animals, deadly nature traps and most of all cruel people, and reassured her that she was safer in the tower with her. But since she had "handled herself" against an intruder, Rapunzel thought she could change her mother's mind.
"Oh, Rapunzel, you know I hate leaving you after a fight, especially when I've done absolutely nothing wrong," Gothel interrupted her as she removed her cloak and hung it up on a hook on the wall.
"Okay, I've been thinking a lot about what you said earlier—" began Rapunzel.
"I hope you're not still talking about the stars," Gothel said dryly while taking the parsnips out of her basket.
"Floating lights," Rapunzel corrected her. "And yes. I'm leading up to that—"
"Because I really thought we dropped the issue, sweetheart." Gothel interrupted again.
"No, Mother," Rapunzel said in exasperation, "I'm just saying you think I'm not strong enough to handle myself out there—"
"Oh, darling, I know you're not strong enough to handle yourself out there," Gothel cut her off while giving her a smarmy glare.
"But if you just—" Rapunzel tried again.
"Rapunzel, we're done talking about this." Gothel said firmly.
Rapunzel started reaching for the green chair to remove it and open the door, intending to show her Mother her captive. "Trust me! I know what I'm—"
"Rapunzel. Rapunzel! Enough of the lights, Rapunzel! You are not leaving this tower! Ever!" Gothel shouted angrily.
Rapunzel stopped cold. Defeated, she retracted her hand, leaving the chair in its place.
Gothel slumped into the dinner chair and tiredly leaned her head into her hand. "Oh, great. Now I'm the bad guy," she groaned.
Rapunzel glanced at the painting above the fireplace, one that depicted her sitting on a hill watching the floating lights in the sky, which she had only finished painting that morning. She closed her eyes dejectedly, realizing that her mother was not going to allow her dream to come true.
"All I was going to say, Mother, is that…" she began weakly, then as she trailed off an idea came to her mind, "I know what I want for my birthday now."
"And what is that?" Gothel asked bitterly.
"New paint. The paint made from the white shells you once brought me," Rapunzel answered, the wheels turning in her head.
"Well, that is a very long trip, Rapunzel. Almost three days' time." said Gothel.
"I just thought it was a better idea than the… stars." Rapunzel replied.
Mother Gothel sighed, getting up from the chair and approached Rapunzel. "Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?" she asked, putting on a caring tone.
"I know I'm safe as long as I'm here," Rapunzel replied, hugging her. Gothel hugged back, stroking the girl's hair briefly.
Shortly afterward, Rapunzel had helped Gothel pack food into her basket. Gothel donned her cloak once again and took the basket. "I'll be back in three days' time. I love you very much, dear," she reassured the girl.
"I love you more," Rapunzel replied affectionately.
"I love you most." she said with a smile.
With that, she descended down Rapunzel's hair-pulley system and set off on her three-day trek.
Present:
After studying the posters on the tree, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Terra, Aqua, Ven, Roxas, Naminé, Xion, Lea, Isa, Myde, Minnie, Daisy, Max, Oswald, and Ortensia made their way down the path the knight said he had saw Flynn run down. But when they arrived, all they saw was a large rock covered in trees and vines.
"Rats. Dead end." grunted Roxas.
"He couldn't have come this way." said Donald, looking around.
"Maybe he climbed the rocks?" Myde suggested.
"Looks a bit steep if you ask me." said Lea. "So… maybe not…"
"Where could he have gone?" Mickey asked in confusion as they walked around the area.
Sora approached the vines before turning around to face his friends, folding his arms behind his back.
"Well, at least he got away safe. Right?" he pointed out.
But as he leaned back, he suddenly fell through the vines and landed on his back behind them.
Everyone turned to where Sora was, only to find him missing, much to their surprise.
"Hey! Now Sora's gone too!" exclaimed Goofy.
"How did he do that?" asked Lea, surprised.
"This way guys! It's a secret passage!" Sora's voice rang out.
"Secret passage?" asked Aqua.
They approached the vines. Terra and Isa moved them out of the way and they saw that Sora was right. He was in a cave-like tunnel.
"You're right. It is a secret passage." mused Mickey.
"Quiet a clever one too. None of us noticed it." said Daisy, impressed.
"Ok, now things are getting good." said Ven, feeling excited.
As Sora got up, they all ran down the path to see if it was the path Flynn had gone down.
Soon, the 20 emerged from the other side of the cave. They looked in awe when they saw the tower up ahead.
"Whoa!" Roxas, Ven, Max, and Myde said in awe.
"Look at that! A tower!" Sora said in awe.
"It's so tall." said Aqua. "It's gotta be at least 100 feet."
"The Avengers Tower is taller, but this is still pretty neat." said Kairi.
Then, they saw a coated woman at the base of the tower.
"Who's that?" asked Naminé.
"And when did she get here?" Myde asked, dumbfounded.
"Must've taken a different path." shrugged Aqua.
Sora and Kairi then noticed something with a golden glint retract into the window.
Riku guided everyone away and they hid behind a tree so the woman wouldn't see them. When she passed through the tunnel, the travellers emerged.
"Let's check it out." said Sora, pointing to the tower.
With that, the 20 walked towards it.
"I really like the scenery around here." said Minnie.
"So do I." Ortensia said in agreement. "It's really beautiful."
"Question is, why was this tower built in a secluded area like this?" asked Terra.
"Your guess is as good as mine." said Max.
"Think Flynn's inside?" asked Xion when they were at least 10 feet away from it.
"If he was running away from the Heartless or something else, he would want to stay as far away as he could." said Lea.
"That sounds about right." nodded Roxas.
"Plus, this is the only direction he could've gone." added Ven.
Sora tugged at the moss. "Hmm… seems strong enough." he mused before turning back to his friends. "I'm gonna take a look inside."
"I'll come with you," said Kairi.
"Me too." said Roxas.
"Me three." said Naminé.
Sora nodded before he faced everyone else. "If we're not back in an hour or whe shout for help or send out a signal, come on up." he told them.
"Sure thing!" said Goofy.
With that, Sora started climbing the moss, followed by Naminé, then Kairi, and then Roxas. The other 16 were a little nervous that the moss wouldn't hold, but luckily, they had nothing to worry about.
Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Naminé climbed up to the window and helped each other inside. They looked around to see if anyone was home.
"Kinda dark in here." said Roxas.
"Is that… hair?" said Naminé, confused.
Sora, Kairi, and Roxas looked in Naminé's direction and saw she was right. Large piles of ahir were all over the floor.
"What is with all the hair?" Kairi asked, dumbfounded.
They then noticed the unconscious Flynn sticking out of the closet, flat on his face.
"Huh?" Sora asked in confusion.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The last thing the four felt was something hard hit them on the head and everything went black.
Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Naminé wearily opened their eyes.
"Anybody get the number of the…?" mumbled Roxas.
When they tried to stand, they found out that they couldn't.
"Wait, why can't we stand up?" asked Kairi.
They looked down and saw that they were in chairs and were tied up by the hair they saw on the ground.
"Ok…?" Roxas said in confusion.
"Hey, there's Flynn." said Sora.
The three looked in Sora's direction and saw Flynn sitting in the green chair that held the closet shut. He was also tied up in the golden hair. They saw the chameleon sit on his left shoulder. He tried to wake Flynn up by slapping his paw against his face, quickly shrinking back and turning the same blue as the thief's vest. But it had no effect. He tried again with his tail, but to no avail. The green respite then decided to shoot his tongue into the man's ear, which caused him to wake up with a start, jolting him so hard that the chameleon fell off of his shoulder. He looked around to see where he was, terrified and confused. He struggled to escape, but he failed in doing so.
"Is… Is this… hair?" Flynn asked out loud.
"Struggling… Struggling is pointless." a voice came from uo in the rafters. She sounded imposing, but nervous as well. The five looked up to see her, only to get a silhouette hidden in the shadows.
The five then saw her jump down from her perch onto the floor as if it was nothing. "I know why you're here." she said. "And… I'm not afraid of you."
"What?" was all Flynn could say in response. He glanced back at the four. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Naminé only shrugged, confused as well.
They all looked back at the silhouetted figure.
She stepped out of the shadows. It was Rapunzel, holding the frying pan out. The four tenagers relaized that was the weapon they were knocked out with.
"Who are you? And how did you find me?" she asked Flynn.
Infatuated by her, all Flynn could mutter was, "A-ha."
"Who are you? And how did you find me?" Rapunzel asked, more forcefully.
Flynn cleared his throat. "I know not who you are, nor how I came to find you. But may I must say…" he began politely, which the four teens found amusing. He spoke in a suave confident tone. Then, he gave a cheesy, flirting grin. "Hi…" he said, raising an eyebrow enticingly, confusing Rapunzel. "How ya doing? The name's Flynn Rider. How's your day going? Huh?"
Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Naminé snickered in amusement, making the barefoot teen notice that they were awake too. Regaining herself, she brought her pan closer to Flynn's face.
"Who else knows my location, Flynn Rider?' she asked.
"Alright Blondie." Flynn began.
"Rapunzel." she corrected.
…
"Gesundheit." Flynn quipped. "Here's the deal; I was in a situation, gallivanting through the forest. I came across your toer a-.' he paused when he realized that something was missing. "Oh! Oh no no! No no no! Where is my satchel?" he asked, worried that he had lost the item he stole.
"I've hidden it. Somewhere you'll never find it." Rapunel replied, smugly crossing her arms.
Flynn looked from his right to his left. "It's in that pot, isn't it? He guessed dryly, unimpressed, pointing at the pot as he spoke.
Angrily, Rapunzel knocked him out again with the frying pan. She walked over to the pot and took out the satchel. She glared at Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Naminé, who quickly closed their eyes. They heard Rapunzel move something made of stone.
"Ok, you guys can open your eyes now." she told them.
And they did. They saw Rapunzel stand in front of them, crossing her arms.
"And who are you and why are you here?" she asked, trying to sound intimidating.
"Well, I'm Sora." said Sora.
"I'm Kairi." said Kairi.
"Roxas." said Roxas.
"And I'm Naminé." said Naminé.
"And as to why we're here, we saw Flynn running away from some bad guys we usually handle." said Sora. "When he was nowhere to be seen, we followed the path we thought he took."
"So we decided to follow him." said Kairi. "When we saw him climb the tower, we decided to do the same."
"Though we are sorry for intruding." apologized Naminé.
Rapaunzel seemed to be taken aback. "So… you're not here to hurt me? Or mother?' she asked.
The four were shocked.
"What?! No!" exclaimed Roxas. "Why would you think that?"
Rapunzel avoided their gazes, a bit embarrassed. "Mother told me that the outside world is full of dangers, and everything out there would try to hurt me."
The Keybearsers frowned at that.
"That's a bit of an over exaggeration." said Kairi. "I mean, yeah, there are bad people out there who love causing chaos and hurting people, but there are good people out there too."
"Yeah, and we enjoy helping and protecting people." said Sora.
Naminé noticed the paintings on the walls.
"Did you paint all of those?' she asked.
"Oh, you mean the stuff on the walls?" asked Rapunsel.
At her fellow blonde's nod, Rapunzel smiled and replied, "Yes. I did."
"They look amazing." said Sora.
"You've got great talent." added Kairi.
"Thank you." Rapunzel smiled.
"So many of them too." added Roxas.
"Well, I do have a lot of time to myself when Mother is out." Rapunzel explained. "Though I'm not really alone. I spend time with my best friend."
"Who's that?" asked Sora.
Then, the chameleon strolled up onto Rapunzel's shoulder.
"This is Pascal." Rpaunzel said with a smile.
"Aww! He's so cute!" Kairi exclaimed.
Pascal smiled.
"So… you've never been outside the tower before?" asked Naminé.
Rapunzel shook her head. "Mother always warned me that I would never be able to handle myself out here, and I wouldn't survive the dangers of the outside world." she replied.
Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Naminé traded glances. It sounded like Rapunzel's "Mother" was keeping her prisoner in this tower. They were starting to question her parental judgement. Though they did feel bad for Rapunzel. She was isolated from the outside world, just like Webby at the manor. But at least Beakley had helped Webby learn to defend herself. Here, Rapunzel was all alone in this tower while her mother was out over so many extended periods of time. No wonder Rapunzel was a bit paranoid.
They then noticed that Pascal had hopped back on Flynn's shoulder and used his tongue in his ear again to wake him up. Flynn woke up and saw what Pascal was doing. He jolted, knocking the chameleon off of his shoulder.
"Will you stop that?!" he exclaimed, rubbing his vest to get the reptile saliva out.
Rapunzel walked over to Flynn, crossing her arms confidently, holding the frying pan in one hand.
"Now it's hidden where you'll never find it." she told him.
Rapunzel then began to circle Flynn. "So, what do you want with my hair?" she asked. "To cut it?"
"What?!" Flynn gasped.
"Sell it?" Rapunzel gasped again, pointing the frying pan under Flynn's chin.
"No!" Flynn exclaimed. "Listen, the only thing I want to do with your hair is to get out of it! Literally!"
Rapunzel paused for a moment. "Wait… you don't want my hair?" she asked, confused.
"Why on earth would I want your hair? Look, I was being chased, I saw a tower, I climbed it, okay? End of story." said Flynn.
"Well that does line up with what those four told me." said Rapiunzel, gesturing to Sora and his friends.
Flynn looked over at the four.
"When did you guys get here?" he asked.
"A while after you did." said Sora. "After we took down the Heartless, we followed you down a path that led us here."
"I see…" murmured Flynn.
"You're telling the truth?" Rapunzel asked him, just to be sure.
"Yes!" Flynn pleaded.
Rapunzel was still skeptical. Pascal crawled out from behind her hair having heard the whole conversation. He scurried down her arm and up her frying pan until he was a few inches from Flynn's face. He stared at him intently, looking up and down, which made the thief feel nervous and confused. After a few seconds, he gestured to Rapunzel with his tail, making her bring the frying pan away as Pascal continued to stare at Flynn.
The two started whispering so that the others couldn't hear, Rapunzel talking and Pascal making squeaking noises.
After they finished, Rapunzel turned back to Flynn. "Ok, Flynn Rider. I'm prepared to offer her a deal." she told him.
"Deal?" Flynn asked.
"Look this way." said Rapunzel, tugging her hair, making the chair spin around. That made Flynn lose his balance and fall face-first onto the floor. Rapunzel climbed up onto the fireplace mantel and slid the curtains open, revealing a painting of her watching what looked like lanterns floating in the sky.
"Do you know what these are?" she asked.
"You mean the lantern thing they do for the princess." Flynn asked, his voice sounding funny from his face being squished against the floor.
Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Naminé traded surprised glances. Princess?
"Lanterns… I knew they weren't stars." Rapunzel said under her breath. She looked back at Flynn. "Well, tomorrow evening, they will light the sky with these 'lanterns.' You will act as my guide, take me to the lanterns, and return me home safely. Then, and only then, will I return your satchel to you. That is my deal."
"Yeah, no can do." said Flynn as he lifted himself up, pushing him and the chair to the side. "Unfortunately... the Kingdom and I aren't exactly 'simpatico' at the moment, so I won't be taking you anywhere."
Rapunzel and Pascal traded glances. Pascal made a human gesture suggesting she hit Flynn again. But Rapunzel had other ideas.
"Something brought you here, Flynn Rider." she said, saying his name in a mocking tone. She pulled her hair to pull him back up. "Call it what you will, fate, destiny-"
"A horse." Flynn said dryly.
"So, I have made the decision to trust you." said Rapunzel.
"A horrible decision, really." Flynn said.
"But trust me when I tell you thuis." she said in a more serious tone. She pulled her hair until Flynn was about to fall forward, then leaned her hand against the back of the chair to keep up. "You can tear this tower apart brick by brick, but without my help, you will never find your precious satchel."
"She sounds serious." Kairi smirked.
"Let me get this straight." said Flynn. "I take you to see the lanterns, bring you back home, and you'll give me back my satchel?"
"That sounds right." nodded Sora.
"I promise." Rapunzel declared.
Flynn raised an eyebrow.
"And when I promise something, I never, ever break that promise. Ever." she added seriously.
Flynn stared at her blankly for another second. "Alright, listen." he began. "I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes the smolder."
He then put on the most over-the-top pleading expression Sora and Co. had ever seen. They struggled not to laugh.
Rapunzel, however, was simply confused, though she remained focused.
"This is kind of an off-day for me. This doesn't usually happen." Flynn muttered, disappointed. "Fine, I'll take you to see the lanterns."
"Really?" Rapunzel asked excitedly, letting go of the chair. But in doing so, she dropped their chai, causing Flynn to fall on his face. Sora, Rapunzel, Kairi, Roxas, and Naminé winced at that. "Oops."
"You broke my smolder." Flynn groaned.
"Say, is it ok if we come too?" asked Sora. "You three could probably use a couple of bodyguards."
"He's right." said Roxas. "There are these creatures of darkness roaming around here called Heartless. We usually handle them."
"Plus, our friends would like to see the kingdom as much as we do." added Kairi.
"Your friends." Rapunzel asked.
"Sixteen of them." said Naminé. "We're a team. They're actually outside, waiting on the ground and-"
She paused when the four of them realized something.
"We were supposed to send someone up if we were in here for more than an hour." said Sora. "How long were we out?"
"About five minutes." Rapunzel replied, glancing at the clock.
"Okh good. Plenty of time." Kairi smiled.
"Then sure, the more the merrier. You can come along too." said Rapunzel, smiling.
"Yeah, why not." Flynn added cynically.
"Thanks." smiled Sora. "Now can you untie us?" he asked.
"Oh sure." said Rapunzel as she began to untie them.
Down below, everyone else was doing stuff to pass the time. Riku and Ven were sparring, as were Aqua & Terra and Lea & Isa. Goofy and Myde were asleep on the hill. Mickey, Minnie, Oswald, and Ortensia skipped some stones near the stream. Donald and Daisy laid in the grass, looking at the clouds while holding their hands. Max was showing Xion some pictures on his phone.
"And this was at the Senior Prom." he told her, showing a picture of him and Roxanne.
"You guys look very nice." mused Xion. "How is Roxanne doing anyway?"
"Doing good," said Max. "She works at the Chez Quackmore restaurant. They pay really well. And she and her friend Stacey are earning a little extra babysitting."
"Does she know you're a Keyblade Wielder?" asked Xion.
"Yeah, she does." Max replied. "She is my girlfriend after all."
"Hey guys!" came Sora's voice.
Everyone looked up towards the stop of the tower. Goofy and Myde woke up hearing the brunette call out to them.
"Looks like everything's good." mused Riku.
Sora grabbed onto the moss and started to climb down. Kairi, Roxas, and Naminé followed. Once they were thirty feet down, they dropped the ground. They regrouped with their team.
"So was Flynn in there?" asked Aqua.
"He sure was." nodded Sora. "Things did get a little strange though."
"But good news." said Kairi with a smile. "We're going with Flynn and this girl Rapunzel to see the kingdom."
As he said that, Flynn climbed out of the window and started scaling back down using his arrows.
"Well at least we'll get the lay of the land." Mickey noted.
"And what's more fun than seeing new sights." added Minnie.
The discussion was interrupted when they saw an enormous length of golden hair fly out and wrap around the hook above the window. Rapunzel stepped onto the window ledge and grabbed onto the length of her hair that was beyond the hook. She stepped toward the edge, turned back briefly as if hesitating, then leapt off of the ledge, using her hold on the hair to keep her descent safe. She stopped just short of touching the ground and paused for a moment. She looked at the grass uncertainly, still nervous about her decision. Then, gingerly, she lowered one bare foot to the ground. As she felt the grass between her toes, she grew confident and planted her other foot on the ground. Cheerfully, she pulled her hair until it was all off of the hook and on the ground. In the meantime, Flynn climbed back down and was on the ground next to her.
"It's so soft." she giggled before running to the lake to play in it.
"Whoa… look at her hair." Myde said in surprise.
"How long is it?" asked Lea, awed.
"No idea actually." said Kairi.
"Who is that girl anyway?" asked Terra.
"That's Rapunzel." said Sora. "And this is her first time out of the tower."
Everyone was taken aback.
