Kanto Gets Loud

Chapter 46: Electric Shock Showdown (Part 3)

Back with Lincoln and company,

Lincoln and Professor Sycamore continued to lead the group through the forest, "It feels like they're right through here!" Lincoln said.

"Man, Lincoln's a lot faster since he's been in Kanto," Stella commented, as she and the others struggled to keep up with their friend and the others.

"Must be something in the food they have here. It must be helping him develop more," Liam commented, as they neared a clearing. Beyond it, they saw Team Rocket, laughing at their heist.

"So, from what we heard, Gardevoir, Garchomp, and the fully evolved Kanto and Hoenn Starters are able to do that 'Mega Evolution' thing, right? So how do we make them to that?" Jessie asked.

"I'm not sure. I heard something about stones, so maybe we need to get some?" James theorized.

"We'll worry about the Gardevoir and Garchomp foist! Then we can put the rest of these cuties through their paces and make them evolve to their final stages. Then we'll have eight Pokemon capable of Mega Evolving! Then we can Mega Evolve ourselves back into being the boss' favorite agents!" Meowth said.

"Great! And there are some rocks over there. Let's go get some," Jessie said, looking over at a rock pile.

"Why those rotten…!" Ronnie Anne growled.

"Hold on, Ronnie Anne. Let the five of us handle those three," Lincoln urged, looking back at Brock, Misty, Raigo, and Leaf, who all nodded. Professor Sycamore also looked ready to go.

"Will you be alright, Linky?" Leni asked.

"Don't worry, Leni. This isn't our first rodeo with these three clowns," Misty replied, before remembering Giggles' ensemble, "Uh, no offence."

"Don't worry about it," Giggles replied.

"Well guys, lets do this," Lincoln said, as they proceeded to move from their hiding spot, "Team Rocket!" The Rockets were flabbergasted to see Lincoln and company.

"What?! How did you find us?!" Jessie exclaimed.

"That doesn't matter! We're taking back all of the Pokemon you stole!" Lincoln said, as Queeny and Gawain stood in front of their trainer.

"Hey, is that a Meowth?" James asked, looking at Gawain.

"It does look like a Meowth. It must be a rare form! And that means we can sell it off for money!" Jessie replied. Meowth looked rather irked by that commented.

"As much as I don't want that Meowth imposter gumming up our works, we'll be taking it and the rest of your Pokemon off your hands!" Meowth said.

"Arbok, Ariados, Smoochum and Wobuffet!" Jessie yelled, tossing her Pokeballs.

"Koffing, Lycanroc and Gurdurr! Go and get those Pokemon!" James yelled, tossing his Pokeballs. All of their Pokemon emerged from their Pokeballs, ready to battle.

"They've got eight Pokemon on their side. Let's even things out! Poliwhirl and Dewpider, go!" Misty yelled, sending out her two Pokemon.

"Onix, Budew, you're up!" Brock yelled, sending out two of his Pokemon.

"Shroomer, I need you help!" Raigo said, sending out his Breloom.

"And finally, Charley, you come out too!" Leaf said, sending out her own Charmeleon.

"Lincoln, we can help the others with this battle. You go and try to free the captives," Gawain said.

"Ok, good luck you guys," Lincoln said, as he made his way over to the energy cages where the stolen Pokemon were at.

"Hey, get away from our Pokemon! We stole them unfair and square!" Meowth demanded, seeing Lincoln heading over to the cage, where Professor Sycamore was at already.

"Arbok, Wrap them up!" Jessie ordered. Arbok lunged at Lincoln and the Professor, wrapping them up tightly.

"Oh no, Lincoln!" Leni exclaimed, getting ready to go help her brother, only to be stopped by Professor Oak.

"Hold on, Leni. Let's wait and see how this pans out. After all, this is par for the course for Trainers," Professor Oak advised, as Gawain was rushing up to Arbok, and slashed it away.

"Thanks Gawain!" Lincoln replied.

"Anytime, Laddie!" Gawain replied, as he rushed back over to battle.

"You might as well give up trying to save those Pokemon! That cage is indestructible by any regular attack both inside and out!" Meowth boasted.

"Well, then let's test that. Lincoln?" Professor Sycamore asked Lincoln, who equipped the Mega Ring on his wrist.

"I'm ready. Lapis, can I count on you?" Lincoln asked.

"Forever and always!" Lapis replied.

"Alright then!" Lincoln said, as he tapped the Key Stone, which sent out a wave of yellow energy. The Gardevoirite Lapis was holding appeared from… somewhere, and was giving off waves of blue energy, "Alright Lapis, time to Mega Evolve!" he said as both waves connected with each other.

"What's going on here?!" Jessie exclaimed.

"I don't know, but it can't be good!" James replied, as Lapis was surrounded in a sphere of pink energy. Her dress became much larger and it turned black, as she appeared to have grown gloves. Her hair now became more rounded and perfectly surrounded her head. Finally, the spike in her chest split apart. When that was all done, Lapis was now transformed.

"Whoa, that's Mega Evolution?" Lincoln asked in surprise.

"Yes. What we're witnessing now is Mega Gardevoir," Professor Sycamore replied.

"Uh, Meowth? Are you sure that case is Mega Pokemon proof?" James asked nervously.

"Don't worry! I personally guarantee the strength of those cages can keep the brat out and the Pokemon in!" Meowth boasted, but in truth he was worried himself.

"Lapis, use Dazzling Gleam!" Lincoln instructed.

"On it!" Lapis said, as she began to fire off a dazzling array of light that continually pounded away at the cage, which began to crack in seconds until finally it shattered, allowing the Pokemon to escape. The Rockets yelped in disbelief and fear.

"Garchomp, that goodness you're safe and sound!" Professor Sycamore said, embracing his partner Pokemon. All of the starter Pokemon ran back towards the others in an attempt to escape, only to be blocked off by Ariados' threads.

"AAAH! SPIDER!" Leni shrieked.

"Gawain, turn your attention to Ariados! Use Pay Day!" Lincoln instructed.

"Got it!" Gawain said, as the charm on his forehead began to glow, and fired off a gold coin projectile at Ariados. Gawain then got pinned down by Gurdurr's steel beam, "Sneaky punk!"

"You shouldn't try to interfere!" Gurdurr said with a sneer.

"Fearow, quick! Use Arieal Ace on Gurdurr!" Lincoln said.

"Already on it!" Fearow said, only to get blindsided by an Icy Wind attack from Smoochum.

"Nicely done, Smoochy!" Jessie praised her Smoochum.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt, and Lapis, use Psychic and blow them all away!" Lincoln instructed. Both Pokemon fired off their respective attacks, blasting away most of the Team Rocket Pokemon. Now, only Smoochum, Lycanroc and Gurrdurr were left standing.

"This isn't over yet, brat! Nothing will stop of us from taking back the Pokemon we rightfully stole!" Jessie declared.

"You and your friends may have more Pokemon than us, but we had planned on that!" James said, pressing a button on a remote control. Several drone like cubes then began to surround Lincoln and the others, trapping them and all the Pokemon in separate cages. The only one's who weren't captured were Queeny and Gawain.

"And don't bother with having your Gardevoir trying to bust everyone out. These cages are specially designed to be resistant to all attacks, and are reinforced with a special type of steel, making them unbreakable from inside and out! Not to mention your Pokeballs are useless thanks to an added feature that blocks the Pokeball system from working! Of course, there is a weakspot on the top of those cages, but how would you get to them? You're out of Pokemon!" Meowth boasted.

"Don't count on it! Queeny, try to break through the tops of the cages! You too, Gawain!" Lincoln instructed.

"RIGHT!" both Pokemon replied, as they proceeded to climb the cages.

"Quick, stop them!" Jessie ordered. All the remaining Pokemon went on the attack.

"I'll hold these three off, Lassie! You worry about freeing the others!" Gawain said, as he went to battle the last four Rocket Pokemon.

"Ok Gawain. Good luck," Queeny said, as she got to the top of the cage Lincoln and Professor Sycamore were in, and proceeded to start using Double Slap on the weak spot.

"You three handle this Meowth imposter! I'll get that Fruit girl off the cage!" Meowth said, as he circled around and proceeded to climb the cage.

"Alright punks, let's dance!" Gawain said, brandishing his claws.

"Alright girly, time to join your friends as gifts for the boss!" Meowth said, whipping out his claws. Needless to say, Queeny was feeling a little pressured right now. She used Double Slap to knock Meowth away, then got an idea. She then proceeded to start stomping on the weak spot. Gawain got knocked back into one of the cages by Lycanroc.

"Pathetic! I was expecting more from you, runt!" Lycanroc growled.

"Bite me!" Gawain snapped, as he got back up. It was then that Steenee's feet began to glow pink.

"That looks like Stomp! Lincoln's Steenee must be learning the move, Stomp!" Professor Birch commented.

"That's an actual move that can be learned?" Bobby asked. It was then that bright white and pink lights erupted from Gawain and Queeny respectively, as they began to evolve. Queeny was becoming taller, with boot like legs and long hair like sepals. The white section around her waist line grew larger, and the stem on her head turned into a crown shaped bulb. Gawain grew a bit larger too. His fur around his head became a darker shade of grey, and what appeared to be horns grew from either side of his head.

"Tsareena and Perserker have been registered to your Pokedex," Dexter said.

"Wow, Queeny, Gawain, you've both evolved!" Lincoln exclaimed.

"Whoa, who are those Pokemon?" Leaf wondered, as she got out her Pokedex, and pointed it at both newly evolved Pokemon. Lincoln did the same, but pointed it at Gawain.

"Tsareena, the Fruit Pokemon, a Grass Type, and the fully evolved form of Steenee. Although beautiful, Tsareena is extremely aggressive. It delivers powerful kicks that leave wounds on both the body and spirit of it's opponents. Because of it's beauty, many hair salons use it as a mascot.

Perserker, the Viking Pokemon, a Steel Type, and the evolved form of a Galarian Meowth. What appears to be an iron helmet is actually hardened hair. This Pokemon lives for the thrill of battles. After many battles, this Pokemon evolved dangerous claws that come together to form daggers when fully extended," Dexter and Leaf's Pokedex explained.

"But I always thought Meowth only evolve into Persian?" Misty questioned.

"That's normally the case, but Galarian Meowth are only able to evolve into Perserker. Some Pokemon can only evolve into new forms if they're from a different region," Professor Oak explained.

"And it looks like they've both learned a new move!" Lincoln commented.

"Now we have to catch that mini Persian now more than ever! It could be worth even more money!" Jessie declared.

"Alright, Perserker, use Iron Head!" Lincoln instructed. Perserker then charged at the Rocket Pokemon with it's head turning metallic, before slamming into Lycanroc, sending it careening back into Gurdurr and Smoochum.

"In that case, I'll just grab you!" Meowth declared, lunging at Queeny.

"Alright Queeny, use Trop Kick!" Queeny did a twirl, and kicked Meowth with plenty of force to send him flying back into his colleagues. Queeny then proceeded to break open the cages, freeing everyone.

"Do we have any more cages?" Jessie asked nervously.

"Afraid not. Lets go for a tactical retreat," James replied, recalling his Pokemon, as did Jessie. They then grabbed Meowth and boarded their balloon.

"They're getting away!" Girl Jordan exclaimed.

"Don't be so sure, girly! Magnezone, use Lock On!" a gruff voice said, as a red ring was shot at the Team Rocket balloon.

"That voice!" Lincoln exclaimed, turning to the source to see none other than Lt. Surge. Beside him was a Pokemon that looked similar to a UFO with magnets on three different ends of it's body.

"Glad to see you again, Private! I'll finish these three off for you. Now, Magnezone, use Zap Cannon!" Surge ordered. Magnezone then fired a ball of electricity, which was homing directly at the Team Rocket balloon. Upon making contact, the balloon exploded.

"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" the Rockets yelled, as they flew out of sight.

"Whoa, that was intense!" Lincoln commented.

"Lincoln! Are you alright?" Leni exclaimed, rushing her brother's side.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Lincoln replied.

"Looks like we've got more fellow Americans, huh Private?" Surge asked.

"Yeah. This is my sister, Leni, and some of my friends from back in Royal Woods," Lincoln replied.

"Hmm. I see," Surge replied.

"Is this the Gym Leader of the Vermillion Gym?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"He's huge!" Clyde commented.

"Yep. This is Lt. Surge, the Electric Type Gym Leader of Vermillion City," Lincoln replied.

"So, how's the training been going?" Surge asked.

"Pretty good so far, Surge. Pikachu and I are ready for our rematch," Lincoln replied.

"You still haven't evolved your Pikachu? Haven't you learned anything from our last battle?" Surge asked.

"I did, and I used what I learned to train up Pikachu specifically to take on Raichu," Lincoln replied.

"Well, can't say I wasn't trying to be nice with giving you that Thunder Stone. I'll be waiting at the Gym for you to come by," Surge said, recalling Magnezone, before taking off. Just then, Lapis reverted back to her normal form, but stumbled a bit.

"Lapis!" Lincoln went to his Pokemon's aid.

"Hey, she turned back to normal!" Tabby commented.

"That's right. What sets Mega Evolution apart from regular evolution is that it isn't permanent. Although, since it was the first time you used Mega Evolution, it makes sense that Lapis is feeling drained," Professor Sycamore observed.

"Then we'll just have to keep training until we can use it without any issue," Lincoln commented.

"It was still quite the surprise. Not only did you Mega Evolve your first Pokemon, but both Gawain and Queeny managed to evolve," Misty commented.

"That's right. Now all I need to do now is take on Surge again for my Thunder Badge," Lincoln replied.

"But first, we should get back to the lab, and have your friends choose their first Pokemon," Professor Oak advised. And with that, they all made their way back to the lab.

Back at Cerise Labs,

"I swear! The two of you need to stop it with this 'fated encounter' talk!" a girl in a white school uniform said, as she was dragging two others up the stairs to Cerise Labs. She had red wine colored hair, done up in a ponytail.

The two she was dragging included a boy and a girl, both wearing similar uniforms. The boy had black hair and tan skin. The girl had fair skin with brown hair combed to one side and freckles.

"C'mon Chloe, the future is in the palm of our hands!" the boy said.

"You know what else is, Goh? Your homework that I have to help you two get caught up with for all the time you've been goofing around!" the first girl, now known as Chloe, said, as she continued dragging them towards the lab. She then saw the large group gathered out in the backyard, "Does Dad have guests over?" she wondered, as the three of them went to check it out.

"Alright, now that all of that's dealt with, now you can all choose your first Pokemon," Professor Cerise said.

"And we're back to having to make a difficult choice. I don't know who I want the most for my starter," Polly commented.

"Speak for yourself. I already know who I want," Liam said, walking over to Tepig, "What d'ya say, Tepig? Want to be mah partner?" Tepig snorted happily, signaling that it does want to be Liam's partner, "Alrighty then, I choose Tepig!"

"Excellent choice, Liam. Here's Tepig's Pokeball, and a Unova Region Pokedex," Professor Juniper said, handing Liam Tepig's Pokeball.

"You know, I kind of like Popplio. I think I'll chose it as my starter," Giggles commented. Popplio looked very happy to hear that.

"In that case, here's Popplio's Pokeball. Sorry, but the Alola Region doesn't necessarily have any regional Pokedexes that are easy to get a hold of," Professor Kukui said, handing Giggles Popplio's Pokeball.

"Not to worry. I have some Kanto Region Pokedexes handy," Professor Cerise replied, handing Giggles a Pokedex. From then on, each of Lincoln's friends chose their own starter.

Rusty decided to go with Chespin.

Zach chose Torchic as his starter.

Girl Jordan decided on Fennekin as her choice.

Stella opted to go with Oshawott.

Haiku chose Rowlet, Tabby went with Chikorita, Polly chose Totodile, Margo had her eyes on Chimchar, and Clyde went with Sobble.

Bobby had a hard time picking between Fuecoco and Snivy, but ultimately decided on the Fire Pokemon. Carlota decided to take on Snivy as her partner, and Leni decided upon Cyndaquil. Leaving only Ronnie Anne, who couldn't decide from the leftovers. Just then, they all saw a dust cloud barreling towards them, crashing into Ronnie Anne, knocking the wind out of her. When the dust settled, it was revealed to be a little brown fox Pokemon with a fluffy white collar. It also had fur covering it's eyes.

"Nie-Nie, are you alright?" Bobby went to his sister's aid.

"Yeah, but what hit me?" Ronnie Anne questioned, before seeing the culprit, "This one certainly has a lot of excess energy. What even is it?"

"That's an Eevee," Professor Oak replied.

"An Eevee?" Ronnie Anne parroted. Bobby then took out his Pokedex to scan it.

"Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon, a Normal Type. Because of it's unstable genetic makeup, Eevee is able to evolve into many different forms depending on the method deployed. This Male Eevee is Level 10, and knows the moves Tackle, Growl, Covet, Helping Hand, Quick Attack, Tail Whip, and Sand Attack," Bobby's Pokedex explained.

"Since it gave information on what moves it can use, Eevee must be a wild Pokemon," Lincoln commented. Eevee tried to brush away the fur in it's eyes, but to no avail, it then began running around, crashing into every Pokemon there.

"Hey, what's with that?" Rusty exclaimed, pulling Chespin out of the line of fire.

"That Eevee's bangs are too long, so it can't see," Brock theorized.

"Boy, I'd love to have an Eevee! Just think of all the possibilities!" Leaf commented.

"You're talking about how it can evolve, right?" Girl Jordan asked.

"That's right! Eevee can evolve into either Jolteon, an Electric Type, Flareon, a Fire Type, Vaporeon, a Water Type, Espeon, a Psychic Type, Umbreon, a Dark Type, Leafeon, a Grass Type, Glaceon, an Ice Type, or Sylveon, a Fairy Type. Depending on how it evolves, it can unlock new possibilities for battle," Leaf explained. Ronnie Anne thought about it for a moment, then had an idea.

"Professors, would it be alright if I made this Eevee my starter?" Ronnie Anne asked.

"Now hold on Nie-Nie, I'm pretty sure you're only limited to the choices the Professors gave you, right?" Bobby asked.

"Not necessarily. Some trainer's first Pokemon aren't one of the traditional starters. Case in point, Lincoln's Pikachu," Professor Oak replied.

"Well, if you want it as a partner, then I'd say go right ahead and catch it," Professor Elm urged.

"Pikachu, can you talk and try to convince Eevee to let Ronnie Anne catch it?" Lincoln asked.

"Sure thing," Pikachu replied, going over to Eevee, "Hey there, Eevee."

"Oh, hello there. Do you know where I am?" Eevee asked.

"At the Cerise Laboratory in Vermillion City. You came barreling in," Pikachu explained.

"Oh, I didn't mean to hurt anyone," Eevee commented.

"It's fine. But that brings me to my point. See, this human girl wants you to be her partner, so I was wondering if you could let her catch you?" Pikachu requested.

"If she can help me out with my vision, then sure," Eevee replied, trying to brush the fur in it's face away.

"You heard that, right Lincoln?" Pikachu asked.

"I did," Lincoln then turned to Ronnie Anne, "Eevee will let you catch it if you can do something about it's vision," he explained.

"That's all? No problem," Ronnie Anne replied. Professor Oak then handed her a Pokeball, "Alright Eevee, lets be the best of partners," she said, tapping Eevee with the Pokeball, sucking Eevee into it. The Pokeball rocked three times before snapping shut.

"Eevee has been registered to your Pokedex," a Pokedex from Professor Oak said.

"Well, that takes care of giving them their own starter Pokemon and Pokedexes," Professor Elm commented.

"Eh, not quite. For the way they helped rescue the Pokemon, why don't we let Lincoln and the others take a starter with them?" Professor Birch suggested.

"You know, that's not a bad idea," Professor Sycamore commented.

"Really? You're going to let us choose?" Misty asked.

"Of course. Consider it our way of saying thanks," Professor Birch replied.

"In that case, I already know who I want to pick," Misty declared, heading over to Piplup, "I'd love it if you'd come with me, Piplup," she said to the Penguin Pokemon, who was happy to oblige.

"Very well. Here's Piplup's Pokeball," Professor Rowan said, handing Misty Piplup's Pokeball. Buizel's Pokeball teleported away.

"As for my choice… I think I'll go with Turtwig," Brock commented. Once again, Professor Rowan gave Brock Turtwig's Pokeball.

"This is my chance to get a new Pokemon, so I'll go with Litten!" Raigo commented. He received Litten's Pokeball from Professor Kukui.

"I'd love it if you'd join me, Grookey," Leaf said, as she received Grookey's Pokeball from Professor Magnolia.

"What about you, Lincoln? Who will you choose?" Clyde asked. Lincoln considered his options carefully, before finally making his choice.

"I going to pick Treecko!" he declared.

"An excellent choice," Professor Birch said, handing over Treecko's Pokeball.

"Lets work well together, Treecko," Lincoln said.

"Sure thing, boss," Treecko replied, getting recalled into its Pokeball.

"Treecko has been registered to your Pokedex," Dexter stated, as Fearow's Pokeball teleported away.

"Well, that takes care of that. Now the only thing left to do is to go take on Surge again," Lincoln commented.

"Any chance we can come and watch?" Leni asked.

"I'd kind of like to see that new 'Volt Tail' move you came up with in action," Professor Kukui chimed in.

"Well, if you guys want to, then I won't say no," Lincoln replied, as they left the Cerise Lab grounds. Professor Cerise was the last to leave, upon seeing Chloe, Goh, and the other girl.

"Ah, Chloe, Goh, and Sid. Back from school?" he asked.

"Yep. And I've been tasked with tutoring these two in all of the lessons they've missed," Chloe said in annoyance at her two friends.

"I see. Well, I'm going to be watching a Gym Battle in person, so I'll be back a little later," Professor Cerise replied.

"A gym battle? What for?" Sid asked.

"You heard about that white haired American that's been making a name for himself, right? Well, he's heading over there for a rematch with Surge, and I'd kind of like to see the battle in person," Professor Cerise replied.

"Ah, cool! I want to go see!" Sid commented.

"Not a chance! You two have a lot of school work to get caught up on!" Chloe replied, dragging the two of them into the building. Professor Cerise could only chuckle, as he went to catch up with the others.

Later, at the Vermillion Gym,

Lincoln and company were standing before the Vermillion City Gym, "So this is a Pokemon Gym?" Haiku asked.

"Yep. As you saw, Surge specializes in Electric Types," Lincoln replied.

"Well, it's time for all the training you've done over the past few days to pay off," Brock commented.

"Hey you guys!" the group saw the rest of Rito's friends making their way over. Even Saki, Rin, and Aya were with them, "Rito told us you were getting ready for your rematch, Lincoln," Saruyama commented.

"Yep. Now it's time to put everything I learned to use," Lincoln replied, as he entered the Gym, "I'm here for my rematch!" inside, Surge and the other Gym Trainers were waiting.

"Heh, about time you showed up, runt. I can't wait to see the new way you and your Pikachu will lose," Surge taunted. Lincoln remained undeterred.

"Are all Gym Leaders as rude as him?" Tabby asked.

"It's actually a friendly greeting. Surge is trying to help get Lincoln psyched up for the battle," Raigo replied.

"And I see you've brought a larger group with you this time," Vincent said, seeing how much larger the group is.

"Yeah. These are my friends from America," Lincoln replied.

"Well, I'm always open to letting people in to watch the battles. Tucker, could you show our audience to the stands?" Surge asked.

"Certainly. If you'll all follow me," Tucker urged.

"Just a moment," Lincoln said, as he sent out the rest of his team, "Would it be alright if my team cheered on Pikachu and I?"

"I see no issue with that. Just as long as they don't heckle during the match," Surge replied, as he led Lincoln a different way through the Gym than the others.

Vermillion City Gym Battlefield,

"Alright runt, the rules for this rematch are one Pokemon each! The battle will be over when either side's Pokemon cannot continue," Surge explained.

"Sounds good to me," Lincoln replied.

"Glad to hear it," Surge said. Up in the stands, Lincoln's friends were all sitting in the bleachers.

"We've only seen Lincoln's battles in Professor Oak's progress reports, so seeing it in person will be a whole new experience for us," Clyde commented.

"It was a new experience for us as well when we first saw a gym battle," Kotegawa replied.

"Alright, Raichu, front and center!" Surge said, as Raichu dashed onto the field.

"Pikachu, you're up!" Lincoln said, as Pikachu dashed onto the field.

"Well, here we are, once again! I hope you won't bore me like last time," Raichu taunted.

"Don't count on it, tubby," Pikachu replied. That seemed to really irk Raichu, but it let it slide.

"Alright, battle begin!" Vincent declared.

"Alright Pikachu, lets show him how much stronger we've gotten! Use Double Team!" Lincoln instructed. Afterimages of Pikachu began appearing all over the field.

"Oh, I get it… you're trying a hit-and-run tactic. No matter. Raichu, use Electric Terrain!" Surge ordered. Raichu then sent electricity all over the battlefield, electrifying it.

"What was that?" Momo asked.

"Electric Terrain; it's a move that boosts the power of Electric Type attacks. Surge must want to finish this battle quickly," Kukui explained.

"Now, use Rising Voltage!" Surge ordered. Raichu then summoned bolts of lightning from the battlefield that was going around, striking all of the afterimages.

"Quick, use Dig to dodge!" Lincoln called out. The real Pikachu then burrowed underground.

"Oh, using a Ground Type move. Very clever, but not clever enough! Raichu, use Thunder Punch on the battlefield!" Surge ordered. Raichu then struck the battlefield with Thunder Punch. The shockwave forced Pikachu above ground.

"Aw crap!" Lincoln exclaimed.

"Alright Raichu, use Thunderbolt!" Surge ordered. Raichu then fired off Thunderbolt.

"Pikachu, quick, use Iron Tail on the Battlefield!" Lincoln ordered. Pikachu snapped out of the shock of getting forced out of the ground, and dug Iron Tail into the ground, just as Thunderbolt hit.

"Yes! Direct hit!" Surge proclaimed, only to notice that Pikachu looked relatively fine, "What?"

"I see! It's a lightning rod!" Lala commented.

"What do you mean?" Zach asked.

"Pikachu's Iron Tail is acting as a lightning rod to redirect the Thunderbolt's power underground, thus reducing the damage it took," Brock explained.

"Alright, time to finish this once and for all! Raichu, use Giga Impact!" Raichu became enveloped in the energy of Giga Impact before charging at Pikachu.

"Pikachu, Protect!" Lincoln called out. Pikachu quickly formed the green barrier, causing Giga Impact to bounce off.

"This could be a crucial moment! After using Giga Impact, Raichu won't be able to move for a while!" Raigo commented.

"Alright Pikachu, use Dig, once again!" Lincoln instructed. Once more, Pikachu burrowed underground, but Raichu was trying to catch it's breath from Giga Impact. When it was able to move again, it was too late, as Pikachu burst from underneath it, damaging Raichu immensely.

"Unbelievable! Last time, you could barely get in any hits on Raichu!" Surge commented.

"That's right, because last time, I didn't take into account Raichu's biggest weakness," Lincoln replied.

"It's weakness? What does that mean?" Professor Juniper asked.

"Surge evolved his Raichu the moment he got it as a Pikachu. It does allow it to learn more powerful attacks, but it never learned any of the speed attacks it could only learn as a Pikachu," Brock explained.

"I guess that means evolving Pokemon isn't always a good thing?" Risa asked.

"Well, some Pokemon can only learn moves in it's earliest stages that it can't in later ones, so I guess you could say that evolution does have some drawbacks," Professor Rowan replied.

"Raichu, give them a Thunder Punch!" Surge ordered. Raichu then charged at Pikachu with Thunder Punch.

"Use Grass Knot!" Lincoln instructed. Pikachu then summoned blades of grass right at Raichu's feet, causing the larger Mouse Pokemon to trip.

"Alright, now this is getting old! Let's finish this in one fell swoop! Raichu, use Volt Tackle!" Surge ordered.

"Lincoln, how about we finish this battle ourselves?" Pikachu asked.

"You got it! Pikachu, use Volt Tail!" Lincoln ordered. Raichu then began charging at Pikachu surrounded by electricity, while Pikachu readied Volt Tail. When Raichu was close enough, Pikachu swung his tail at Raichu. The resulting clash of both Electric attacks caused wild bolt of electricity to fly out all across the Gym. Everyone in the gym, Lincoln, Surge, the Gym Trainers, and the spectators all took cover as not to get hit by the loose bolts of lightning.

"Give it up, runt! You'll never beat an evolved Pokemon!" Raichu demanded.

"Never! Lincoln's counting on me to win, and I'm not going to let him down!" Pikachu retorted, as the deadlock continued. However, the combined energy from both attacks couldn't be contained between the two of them, as the energy shot out upwards, destroying the windows in the gym with the resonating sound of a gunshot. In seconds, the energy burst died off.

"Jeez, kid, what is it with you and explosions? Do you have something against me and my gym?" Surge asked, as he and everyone came out from hiding. On the battlefield, both Pikachu and Raichu were still standing, with the former eating the Sitrus Berry he had gotten from Lincoln before the match, "Ah, taking what I told you about Hold Items into account. Very nice, but this battle is still on, right Raichu?" Surge asked, only to get no response, "Raichu?" he asked, only for Raichu to fall backwards, knocked out. Tucker went to check.

"Raichu is unable to battle! The winner is Pikachu! Therefore, victory in this Gym Battle Rematch goes to Lincoln Loud of Royal Woods!" Tucker declared.

"Alright, we won, Pikachu!" Lincoln exclaimed, rushing over to his partner's side.

"Well I'll be… the kid actually did it," Surge said, sounding impressed, as he went to Raichu's aid.

"Sorry sir, I wasn't able to win," Raichu said, even though Surge couldn't understand it.

"Don't worry, Raichu. It was still a great battle. Now you get some rest," Surge said, recalling the Mouse Pokemon. He then saw Lincoln's friends all rushing over.

"That was incredible, Lincoln!" Stella exclaimed.

"I didn't think a Gym Battle could be THAT intense!" Clyde added.

"Yeah, but Pikachu deserves most of the credit. After all, he did all the heavy lifting," Lincoln said, as Pikachu continued eating the berry.

"But every good soldier needs a commander to lead them to victory, and that's what you were in today's battle," Surge said.

"Thank you, Lieutenant," Lincoln replied.

"No problem. Anyhow, in accordance with Pokemon League procedures, I hereby present you with this Thunder Badge, and a TM for the move Shock Wave," Surge said, handing Lincoln his long sought after prize, and a TM, which he accepted.

"Thank you, Surge," Lincoln replied.

"So that's the Vermillion Badge?" Rusty asked, seeing the Thunder Badge.

"Yep, and that makes badge #3," Lincoln replied, as he put the Thunder Badge in his Badge Case.

"The battles you'll face from here on out will no doubt be a lot tougher, so don't go loosing too much," Vaszquez said.

"So that was the Volt Tail Samuel told us about," Professor Kukui commented.

"Yeah. Truth be told, we only managed to create it by accident," Lincoln replied.

"But it's still highly effective. Though I must say, it did look to have a similar side effect as Volt Tackle," Professor Kukui replied.

"What do you mean?" Leni asked.

"See, Volt Tackle is a move that damages the user as well as the one getting attacked. Therefore, it's wise not to overuse it. Volt Tail seems to deal recoil damage the same way," Professor Kukui explained.

"That's why I try to only use Volt Tail in the direst of situations," Lincoln added.

"I have to admit, I wouldn't mind teaching my Pokemon a move like that. How'd you come up with it?" Surge asked.

"Well, as I said, it was only an accident that it got created. Besides, I don't think Pikachu would appreciate if I gave away the details," Lincoln replied.

"Ah, loyalty to your troops. I can respect that. Well, in any case, now that you've won your Thunder Badge, you're now even closer to the Pokemon League than before. And, from one American to another, I know you're going to do great, kid. Dismissed!" Surge said, as Lincoln and the others left the Gym.

"So, what are going to do now, Lincoln?" Leni asked.

"Well, the St. Anne cruise liner is going to be docking here tomorrow, and the five of us are going to have ourselves a little down time," Lincoln replied.

"A CRUISE LINER?!" all the girls from Royal Woods exclaimed.

"Yeah, though I have to admit, it seemed a little fishy when we got passes to the ship for free," Lincoln replied, as he remembered when he and the others got their free passes.

A few days ago, Vermillion Harbor,

The harbor was busy as always, as passenger ferries were either docking or departing from the harbor. Within the limits of the harbor was a group of people, who were handing out passes for the St. Anne. Among them was Midori, who was wearing a… less than modest school girl's uniform. The top was far too small, and gave people a full view of her cleavage, and the skirt was far too short, giving people slight visages of her panties, "Come to a special party on the St. Anne! Trainers get in for free!" she said, masking her embarrassment, 'Just remember, Midori, this is all for the sake of taking down Team Rocket,' she thought.

"Excuse me?" Midori turned, and froze when she saw Lincoln and company, "We heard you were handing out free passes to the St. Anne, right?" Misty asked.

"Y-Yes, that's right. And we've still got plenty to give out," Midori replied.

"In that case, could we get three passes?" Misty asked.

"Certainly," Midori replied, giving out three passes to the trio.

"Thank you so much!" Misty gushed.

"No problem. We hope that you enjoy the party," Midori replied.

"She seemed friendly," Misty commented.

"More like a little… 'off'. Didn't she seem like she was acting strangely?" Lincoln asked.

"Well, with an outfit like that, who wouldn't be?" Misty asked.

"Hey, anything that eye-catching is necessary to advertising," Brock commented.

"Maybe so, but something doesn't seem right," Lincoln commented.

"You're think about it too much. Just think of it this way; We got free passes to a luxury cruise liner! That means we'll be sailing on the seas in style!" Misty replied.

"Well, I hope you're right," Lincoln replied.

"Truth be told, Lincoln, that girl smelled vaguely familiar," Pikachu replied.

"Well, there's no use dwelling on it now," Lincoln replied.

Realtime,

"It could've just been an invitation to some kind of Trainer's Convention onboard," Professor Birch guessed.

"Yeah, you may be right. Besides, I would never say 'no' to a cruise," Lincoln replied.

"Man, you've really gotten lucky since coming here, Lincoln! I bet the rest of your family will be totally jealous!" Rusty commented, when it hit him and the others.

"Oh, right! We need to call home and let our families know we made to Kanto safe and sound!" Giggles exclaimed.

"Well, the Pokemon Center has Video Phones that you can use to call home. And their section of Video Phones is the largest one I've seen yet," Lincoln replied.

"Ok, then we'll head over there to call home and check in with our families. Then we can decide what to do from there," Bobby said.

"You kids go on ahead. We'll be back at Cerise Labs chatting about our research," Professor Oak said, as he and the other Professors left for the lab.

"C'mon guys, we'll take you to the Pokemon Center," Lincoln said, as he and the others led them to the Pokemon Center.

Later, at the Pokemon Center,

Lincoln and friends had just arrived at the Vermillion City Pokemon Center, "Well, here we are. The Pokemon Center is a must for any Trainer, since they provide all kinds of services," Lincoln said, as they entered the Center, "This is the lobby, where trainers can exchange information with one another. Over there is the main counter. If you talk to Nurse Joy, she'll give you a room for the night and heal up your Pokemon for free. Speaking of which," Lincoln then made his way over to front desk, "Nurse Joy, could you top off Pikachu again?"

"Certainly, just leave it to me," Nurse Joy said, as her Chansey took Pikachu into the back.

"They have Pokemon working as nursing staff?" Carlota asked.

"Yep. Chansey is Nurse Joy's partner. Moving on, we have the Pokemart over there," Lincoln said, pointing over to the Pokemart, "There, you can buy all kinds of useful items, such as Pokeballs, Medicine, clothes, food, and even TMs," Lincoln explained.

"Like the one you got from Surge?" Liam asked.

"Yep. You can use your Trainer ID to pay for any goods you want to buy. You can earn more money either by winning battles or selling items you find during your travels," Lincoln explained.

"Like those Nuggets you got a while back?" Leni asked.

"Yep," Lincoln replied.

"Wait, 'Nuggets'?" Margo asked.

"Gold Nuggets. The ones I found were either the size of a baseball or a basketball," Lincoln explained. Everyone new to this information dropped their jaws.

"That sounds way too cool!" Polly commented.

"And it's not just Nuggets you can sell. You can find items like Star Pieces, Pearls, Big Pearls, Pearl Strings, Comet Shards, and Stardust to sell," Brock pointed out.

"But if you're pressed for money, then you can always hit up the Battle Chateau. It's just North of here on Route 6," Lincoln said.

"What's the Battle Chateau?" Bobby asked.

"It's a place where trainers go to sharpen their skills against other trainers. You also get noble titles as well," Lincoln replied.

"Noble titles?" Tabby asked.

"It's how they rank trainers that frequent the Chateau. The main catch with the ranking system is that you can only battle trainers that are the same rank as you," Lincoln explained.

"What rank are you at?" Clyde asked.

"I managed to battle my way up to the Earl Rank, which is the third lowest rank, just above Baron and Viscount. Above Earl is Marquis, Duke, and Grand Duke," Lincoln replied.

"Ok, so we can take that into account," Ronnie Anne commented.

"Anyhow, moving on, next we have the PC. Here, you can exchange Pokemon from your party with ones you have in storage. Remember, a trainer can only carry six Pokemon at a time, so any more than that, and they'll get sent to storage," Lincoln explained.

"That'll be good to know," Margo commented.

"Yes, it is. Next up, we have the Video Phones. They're free to use in any Pokemon Center, so you can call home, the Professors, or anyone else," Lincoln then showed them the Videophone section, which was fairly large compared to other Pokemon Centers.

"Do we call our regular house phones, or what?" Polly asked.

"Yep. Of course, there are time zone differences, so you may want to wait until later tonight to call home," Lincoln advised.

"Makes sense," Giggles commented.

"And finally, there's the café. It's just like any other café you've probably been to, so I don't really need to explain that. And with that, the crash course in the Pokemon Center is complete," Lincoln said.

"Well if we have to wait until tonight to call home, what should we do in the mean time?" Leni asked.

"Well, we can always take you girls shopping with us!" Risa said, surprise groping Leni's breasts.

"EEK!" Leni squeaked.

"Risa, cut that out!" Haruna demanded, pulling her friend away.

"Is she always like that?" Lincoln asked.

"Unfortunately, yes," Rito replied, sounding rather annoyed. Just then, Lapis emerged from her Pokeball.

"Lincoln, if it's not too much to ask for, could we go for that ice cream you promised?" she asked, just as Queeny emerged from her Pokeball as well.

"Lincoln, you queen desires ice cream as well," Queeny added.

"Oh, right! Well, if you girls want to go shopping, I'm going to go with my friends to check out the city, and maybe get some ice cream," Lincoln said.

"That sounds good. And I can be there to help them out any way I can, maybe even treat them to a lovely lunch," Brock said, as got down on one knee, "Leni, Carlota, would the two of you like for me to assist you today?"

"Uh, sure," Carlota replied, a little put off by the advance.

"Don't worry, Brock's always like that," Misty commented.

"You'd better go too Misty, not just to keep an eye on Brock, but also Risa and Mio too," Lincoln whispered.

"Good call," Misty replied.

"Then let's meet back here at about, oh, dinner time?" Bobby suggested.

"Sounds good," Lincoln replied, just as the Pokemon Center chime went off.

"Lincoln? I'm happy to report that your Pikachu is back to full health," Nurse Joy said, wheeling Pikachu out on a stretcher.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy," Lincoln said, as Pikachu leapt up onto Lincoln's shoulder, "How are you feeling?"

"100%! Now, about that ice cream," Pikachu commented.

"Of course. That'll be one of our stops on our little outing," Lincoln chuckled. He then pulled out a few Pokedollar bills, "Here Misty. If you come across any ice cream stands, use that money to buy some."

"Ok Lincoln," Misty replied, accepting the money.

"Alright, then let's go see what Vermillion City has to offer!" Lincoln said, as they all left the Pokemon Center, and went in different directions.

Later that night, at the Pokemon Center Videophone room,

Lincoln and friends had all regrouped back at the Pokemon Center, and were hanging out near the Videophones, "Ok, it should be the right time back home that our families are up. We can go ahead and start making our calls," Lincoln said, as he and the others all went to a different Videophone. Leni joined Lincoln at the Videophone he was at, as he dialed the number.

Meanwhile, at the Loud House, morning,

The Loud family was eating their breakfast before getting ready for the day. Although, two of the Loud Sister's in question were in such sour moods that the breakfast was completely awkward. Lori and Lynn had bitter scowls on their faces as they ate. None of their sisters or Lynn Sr. could bring themselves to say a word, lest they incur their wrath. The only one who wasn't intimidated by their rotten moods was Rita, who was the first to break the silence, "So, what is everyone's plans for today?"

"Well, I'm meeting up with Sam later today. I'm hoping to introduce you all," Luna piped up.

"Good. I need to see if this Sam boy meets MY approval," Lori said.

"Lori, not everything in this house has to meet your approval," Rita retorted.

"I know that. That's why I'm only enforcing my authority in the fields where my approval does matter, like romance. After all, I'm not about to let any of my little sisters date some trashy boy," Lori replied.

"Lori, Sam is a…"

"Complete unknown. Yes, that I know, Luna. Apart from the fact that he's in your band and that you're dating him, we know nothing about him. Therefore, it's up to me to see if he's good enough for this family," Lori replied.

"Oh, come off it, Lori! You're just trying to displace the authority you thought you had over Lincoln's love life onto the rest of us, all because you think Lincoln is the cause of your breakup with Bobby!" Luna snarled. Lori's nose flared.

"Don't. Ever. Question my authority on romance. Ever again!" Lori seethed, as her temper flared up to near max levels almost instantly.

"Lori, sit down and eat your breakfast. Luna does have a point. Lincoln isn't here, so he couldn't be responsible for your fight with Bobby," Rita said in an authoritarian tone.

"It's because of Ronnie Anne and the rest of Lincoln's geeky friends! Bobby is going with them as a chaperone! That makes that twerp guilty by association, which is just as bad, if not worse, than directly causing the fight in the first place!" Lori argued.

"Lori…" Rita said, her tone shifting to one of a mother really close to going ballistic, "Bobby made the choice to chaperone Lincoln's friends on his own, as did his cousin, Carlota, and Leni. What did Bobby actually say that links Lincoln to the root cause?"

"The fact that he wasn't forcing Lincoln and Ronnie Anne to be a couple! That alone is the reason he wanted to be done with me! He didn't even have to go on a full tangent about how I'm supposedly an 'immature and totally irresponsible' sister to my siblings," Lori replied, tearing up again.

"Well, if you didn't want him to berate you like that, then maybe you should actually try to be a good sister to ALL of your siblings. That means taking THEIR feelings into account instead of just focusing on your own!" Rita yelled. Her tone was so strict that it made all of the passing by pedestrians outside to immediately head home with the intent to do their chores. Lori, however, was not deterred.

"I can't believe you, Mom! You should know that I'm a great sister to my siblings! Why else would you leave me in charge whenever you and Dad go out?!" Lori cried.

"Because I believed that you were mature and responsible enough to take your siblings needs into account. But this whole mess with you blaming Lincoln for something as foolish as your fight with Bobby shows that I was wrong to trust you," Rita replied, before turning to Luna, "Luna, from now on, when your father and I go out, YOU are in charge."

"Got it, Mom," Luna replied.

"But Luna's…"

"Completely mature enough to be trusted to watch over things. Yes, that much I know, but…" Rita was cut off with a beeping from hers and her daughter's wristwatches, which read "Vermillion City" on them, "We'll discuss this later, but my decision is final!" Rita said, collecting Lily, as she, Luna, Lucy, and Lisa all made their way back upstairs.

"What was that about?" Lynn Sr. wondered.

"Must be Lincoln calling again," Lana guessed.

"In that case, I'll boot up my laptop so we can hear what they're talking about," Luan said, as she went up to hers and Luna's room.

"Shall we then?" Lynn Sr. asked.

"Not me. I don't want to hear anything about or from that twerp ever again as far as I'm concerned!" Lori snapped, causing her father to flinch.

"Same here. The less I hear about or from that jinx, the better," Lynn added.

"Well, I guess that just leaves the three of us then," Lola commented, as she, Lana, and their father made their way up to Luna and Luan's bedroom, where the jokey sister was booting up the laptop.

"Fortunately, I still have the camera in Lisa's room online, so we should be able to hear what's being said more easily," Luan said, as they all got comfortable.

Lisa and Lily's room,

Lisa, after arming the door with the current, picked up the receiver, and answered the call. The image of both Lincoln and Leni appeared on screen, "Hey guys!" Lincoln greeted.

"Hello, Lincoln. How have you been since the last time we talked?" Lisa asked.

"Pretty good. A lot has happened over the course of the past three days," Lincoln replied.

"Well, we're most certainly excited to hear what you've been up to," Lucy commented.

"Well, as you all know, after my loss at the Vermillion Gym, I spent the past three days training up Pikachu for the rematch. I'll talk more about that later. But for now, I'll tell you everything that happened in order," Lincoln said.

"That would make things much easier, sweetie," Rita commented, as Lincoln began to tell about his training.

Meanwhile, in the Monster Realm,

Stolas, along with a teenage, owl demon standing next to him, were both standing alongside other monsters. The owl demon teen looked almost identical to Stolas, except she had a completely white, mask-like face, and unkept, untidy black hair, covered by a beanie with a tiara. She was wearing a black, feather shawl around her shoulders of a pink dress with light yellow stars on it.

At the head of the table, there was a man in a fine, white tuxedo like what a ring master at a circus would wear, with a lavender skinned woman sitting next to him in a regal outfit. She also had two, long curled horns growing out of her head. On his other side was a teenage girl in a fancy red tuxedo. She had cream and yellow colored hair, and an all-white face with black lips red spots on her cheeks, making her look like a clown. She was joined by a Mothman girl about the same age as her. She had muted gray-lavender colored skin, with white hair that formed something like a shell around her. Her eyes were all black with red iris'.

Other occupants of the table included a minotaur in professional, minister attire with an extremely busty teen minotaur girl, who looked more human than monster, but with two long horns growing out of either side of her head, sitting next to him in a less than modest outfit, consisting of only a G-Sting bra and a thong, a large, wolf like man in regal attire with a moody looking teen wolf girl sitting next to him in angsty goth attire. Near them were three, red colored imps, each wearing handymen clothes. The tallest of the three had two long horns curled towards the back. The shorter male had white hair that blended into the white patches on his face. His horns were more lightning bolt shaped. The girl imp had messy black hair, long eyelashes, and thick thighs.

The last few occupants included a family of red or blue skinned oni, wearing thunderbolt print clothing, a pair of pink skinned succubae in what could hardly be considered modest clothing, including a fishnet top give a full few of their bras, and finally, a pair of Arachne (or women monsters with the lower body of a spider).

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," the man at the head of the table said.

"What's this about, Lucius? Some of us had plans today," the oni father said.

"I'm just about to get to that. Now, do you all remember Harriet Loud?" Lucius asked. This caught the attention of all the parents at the table.

"How could we forget? She was such fun to hang out with," the succubus mother commented.

"Yes, well, as you all know, the deal we made with her has yet to be fulfilled, but it might end up being fulfilled very soon," Lucius replied.

"Oh jeez, didn't we already agree that Lynn was unfit to fulfill that deal?" the minotaur man asked.

"Yes, we did, Minister Taur. However, it was brought to my attention that Lynn had married and had many children, including a single son," Stolas said.

"Wait, you're saying that Lynn Loud, the single biggest wuss we've ever met, actually found someone who can stand him?" the wolf man asked.

"Somehow, yes. And here is the son of his in question," Stolas said, as he conjured up an image of Lincoln.

"What's with the kid, anyhow?" the tallest imp asked.

"For that matter, what's this even about, anyway?" the oni daughter asked. She had long, yellow hair, and almost pinkish red skin.

"Well, we'll make this simple; Many years ago, your great grandparents made a deal with a human by the name of 'Harriet Loud.' In exchange for a spell book containing several powerful curses and incantations, she promised that the daughters of each house would marry a son from her house. However, Harriet's first son, Leonard, wasn't quite what they were hoping for, and his son, Lynn, well, let's just say that he couldn't bear the sight of any of us, saying that were all 'scary monsters'," the woman by Lucius' side explained.

"Which brings us to your generation. All of you are the descendants of the ones who made the deal with Harriet, and right now, this child, eh, what did you say his name was again?" Lucius asked.

"Lincoln, Lincoln Loud. He's the only son of Lynn Loud, and the only boy among 10 sisters," Stolas replied.

"10 SISTERS?!" everyone in the room exclaimed.

"Holy shit, haven't they heard of protection or birth control?" the wolf teen asked.

"That woman Lynn married must be made of steel or something!" Minister Taur commented.

"I was taken aback by this information as well, but we're getting off topic here," Stolas said, trying to get the meeting back on track.

"Ahem, quite right. As Stolas had mentioned, Lincoln Loud is the only great grandson of Harriet Loud, and he's only a few years younger than all of you, which bring me to this point. Lincoln Loud is to be the one you all are to be betrothed to," Lucius finally said. The looks of pure bewilderment on each of the teen girl's faces said it all, "Oh boy."
