And now we see what Randall's up to and how far this goes.
Enjoy!
The group made their way down the hall, taking note of the dim lights and spooky shapes.
"What kind of place is this?" asked Lea.
"I've never seen this area before." Sulley replied.
"Whatever it is, it sure is ominous." said Kairi.
"Let's keep going, we have to find Mike and see what Randall's up to." said Sora.
"Be alert fellas." said Mickey. " We don't know what we're gonna find."
Everyone continued to walk as they exited through what looked like a grate.
"Look at all these pipes." said Aqua.
"Watch out for the steam." advised Isa.
"And I thought Yzma's place was big." Terra commented.
After a brief pause, Lena let out a very sudden scream, which scared the ever-loving crap out of everyone.
Lena laughed, revealing that she screamed just to scare them, much to their irritation.
"Lena!" complained Webby.
"Don't do that!" scolded Riku.
"You guys should have seen your faces. Priceless." Lena smirked. (1)
Huffing, everyone continued on.
"Kairi's right, this place is ominous." said April.
"But very spooky." said Ortensia, nervous.
"I gotta ya 'Tensia." Oswald soothed, holding his wife's hands.
"Oh thank you Honey Bunny." Ortensia smiled gratefully.
"It's like we're in a horror movie." quipped Lea.
"I wouldn't go that far, but secret passages are fairly creepy." said June.
"Shh, you guys hear something?" asked Louie.
Everyone was silent once more. Then they heard what sounded like voices in the distance.
"Someone's here." said Isa.
"Do ya think it's Randall?" asked Goofy.
"I see some light over there." said Sora, pointing ahead.
They all walked forward and the voices grew louder.
"Uhm, so to confirm, then, you did find the ah…"
"Yes! I got the kid!"
They all peeked through some pipes and saw Randall pushing the cart near what looked like a control panel. Fungus was there too.
"Oh, huzzah! That's great news." Fengus said happily. "N-n-not that I was concerned of course, I knew–"
"Just get over here and help me!" ordered Randall. "Come on, come on, come on! While we're young here, Fungus!"
Randall and Fungus opened the lid and lift the box out of the scream cart.=, through they struggled a bit, not knowing who was really in there.
"Kid needs to take off a few pounds." Randall grunted.
"What are those two up to?" whispered Sora.
"I dunno, but I don't like the looks of this." said Riku.
They dumped the box out into a chair, revealing Mike. Fungus shrieked and shivered in fright.
"Wazowski! Where is it, you little one-eyed crettin?!" demanded Randall.
"Okay. First of all, it's cretin. If you're gonna threaten me, do it properly." corrected Miek before glaring. "Second of all, you're nuts if you think kidnapping me is gonna help you cheat your way to the top!"
Randall chuckles evilly. "You still think this is about that stupid scare record?"
Mike lost all confidence. "Well... I did. Right up until... you chuckled like that... and, uh, now I'm thinkin' I should just get out of here."
Randall clamped Mike into the chair, snapping wrist cuffs on him that were attached to the bar, much to everyone's shock.
"I'm about to revolutionize the scaring industry. And when I do, even the 'great' James P. Sullivan is gonna be working for me." Randall said.
"Well, somebody's certainly been a busy bee." Mike weakly said.
"What does he mean by 'revolutionizing?'" whispered Ven.
"Whatever it is, it does not sound good." frowned Isa.
"First I need to know where the kid is, and you're gonna tell me." Randall said.
"Hey, I don't know anything!" Mike lied.
Randall didn't believe him. "Uh-huh. Sure."
Randall nodded at Fungus, who presses buttons on the console.
"I-I don't! I mean, I don't... Uh-oh." Miek stammered when some red light blared.
A large vacuum-like machine lowered from the ceiling. About 15 scream canisters were attached to it.
Sora and Co. were shocked.
"What the heck is that?" whispered Roxas.
"I dunno, but it looks dangerous." Xion whispered back.
"What's that? Wait. Come on. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Oh, come on. No, no, no, no, no, no. Come on. Hey, hey, hey, hey. This thing is moving." Mike begged as the machine came closer. "Mike: I don't like big, moving things that are moving towards me. No! Come on! Hey! Randall!"
The machine stopped.
"Say hello to the scream extractor." Randall smirked.
"Hello." Mike said meekly. "Why did you build this and when did you have the time to?"
"Remember during that 5 month period when we experienced an awful energy crisis because half the scarers went missing including you and Sullivan?" Randall asked. "Between that event and children being difficult to scare by just entering their rooms, I decided to structure a new source of energy to change the industry of scaring. And the legendary James P. Sullivan will be working for me. And I had some help with some new friends that approached me for "
"I knew you were up to no good." Mike grunted before the purple monster walked off. "Come on. Where are you going? We-we'll talk. Come on, we'll have a latte. Come on. We can talk about this.
Randall pushed Fungus aside and activated the machine, pushing the dials up high. An oxygen-like mask inched towards Mike's face as everyone watched in shock.
"What's that thing? What is that thing? Wait, wait, wait! No, no, no! Uh-oh! No! Come on, hey!" Mike screamed.
"What do we do?!" hissed Sora in horror.
"We gotta shut down the machine!" Violet said.
"Then let's find something!" Sulley said as they all bolted down the hall.
"Help! Help! Help! Help! Oh...NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GYAH!"
The machine's suction pulled Mike's lips closer, then suddenly stopped, powering down with a whir. Mike sighed, relieved.
Randall frowned angrily.
"Oh, for... what did you do wrong this time?" he asked Fungus, annoyed.
"I don't know." Fungus stuttered. "I calibrated the drive shaft-"
"Go check the machine!" Randall snapped as Fungus ran over to it.
"There must be something wrong with the scream intake valve." the red monster said as he began examining the machine.
Randall sighed, frustrated. Then, on the back of the console, he saw the cords wiggling.
"Huh?"
Randall slithered over the console and followed the cords.
The camouflage monster made his way down the hall, looking for something out of place.
"Hmm…"
As he walked past a wall, he saw that the machine had been unplugged.
Back in the main area, Fungus was adjusting the machine.
"Psst. Fungus. Fungus!" Miek whispered loudly. "You like cars? Huh? 'Cause I got a really nice car. If you let me go, I'll give you... a ride in the car. Please, Fungus?"
"I'm sorry, Wazowski, but Randall said I'm not allowed to fraternize with victims of his evil plot." Fungus told him.
Fungus was suddenly pulled up into the ceiling by a pair of large blue hands. A blast of light from Kingdom Key and Destiny's Embrace then opened the arm shackles on Mike's wrists.
Mike grinned in recognition.
Back down the hall, Randall examined the plug before plugging the machine back in, powering it up.
Randall walked back into the room. But as he looked up, he gasped as he saw Fungus in the chair, the scream extractor being used on him as he screamed.
"What happened?! Where's Wazowski?!" Randall shouted.
Fungus struggled and grew pale as the machine does its work.
Annoyed, Randall pressed a button on the console, turning it off.
"Where is he?!" he demanded.
A nearby albino Fungus pointed weakly towards the exit. Randall angrily took off, growling as Fungus collapsed.
Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Roxas, Naminé, Xion, Lea, Isa, Myde, Aqua, Ven, Terra, Minnie, Daisy, Oswald, Ortensia, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Lena, Violet, April, May, June, Sulley, Mike and Boo burst from the tool panel doorway and ran down the hall.
"Come on!" Sulley said.
"Oh man that was nuts!" exclaimed Dewey.
"This is crazy. He's gonna kill us!" Mike cried.
"I knew there was something off about that purple weirdo!" Lea said.
"I'm calling it, Randall's responsible for the Heartless!" said Ven.
"That machine is seriously dangerous!" said Naminé.
"I do not wanna be on the receiving end of that thing!" exclaimed Louie.
They nearly bumped into a group of CDA agents, inspecting a trash can.
"Careful with that. Could be contaminated." one agent said to his colleague.
They quickly took a detour.
"We gotta get out of here NOW! We can start a whole new life somewhere far away! Goodbye, Monsters, Inc.! Goodbye, Mr. Waternoose!" Mike said as he and other travelers ran through a side exit door, out of the factory.
Sulley suddenly stopped.
"No, guys, wait." he said as he turned around and ran back the way they came.
Mike reentered before the door could close. "Hey, what are you doing?" he asked.
Everyone else's faces appeared through the doorway.
"Sulley where are you going?" asked Sora.
"We're trying to get outta here!" said Lena.
"Follow me. I have an idea." Sulley said as he ran down the hall.
"Sulley get back here!" shouted Lea.
"Danger is that way!" exclaimed Louie.
"And safety is this way!" added June.
"For once, I agree since Randall's off his knocker!" said Dewey as they all ran back in.
"No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no…!" Mike said as they chased after Sulley.
In the training room, a monster known as Bile was attempting to scare the animatronic kid, standing on one leg, sticking his tongue out.
"Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated." the automated voice said.
"No, no, no, no, no." Waternoose groaned. "What was that? You're trying to scare the kid, not lull it to sleep."
The recruits sat in their chairs, taking notes.
"I was going for a snake/ninja approach with a little hissing." said Bile, hissing to prove his point.
Waternoose sighed in irritation. Inexperienced employees these days.
"How many times do I have to tell you? It's all about PRESENCE! About how you enter the room!"
Sulley burst into the room holding Boo, and Mike, Sora, and Co. followed.
"Mr. Waternoose!" the furry monster called.
Waternoose grinned. "James! Perfect timing. And you brought the new recruits as well. Now we can get this show started!"
"No, no, no, no. Sir, you don't understand." Sulley tried to explain but Waternoose wasn't listening.
"Ah, now, show these monsters how it's done." Waternoose said.
"Waternoose, there's something you need to know. Sora tried.
"It's about Randall." Aqua also tried.
"What? No, no, I can't... Sir, sir, you have to listen to me." Sulley tried again, only for Waternoose to grab Boo from Sulley and hand her to Mike.
"Pay attention, everyone. You're about to see the best in the business." Waternoose informed everyone new to the company.
"But Mr. Waternoose!" Webby tried.
"You have to listen to us!" Daisy tried.
"There's something going on here!" Huey tried.
"Just let us explain!" said Naminé.
"Sir, I...!" Suley tried again.
"Reset the simulator." Waternoose said to Mrs. Flint, who proceeded to do so.
"But-But, sir!" Sulley protested.
Waternoose positioned Sulley on the stage and stepped behind the control panel. The lights in the room dimmed, and the animatronic kid reseted.
"I guess we're doing this then." Riku sighed.
"Is he really that desperate for a demonstration?" asked Donald.
"Well according to him the new recruits stink." said April.
Mike set Boo down, only for her to immediately run towards Sulley on the stage.
"Kitty!" she said happily.
"No, Boo, no, no!" Mike hissed.
"Boo get back here!" Kairi whispered loudly.
"No no no Boo don't go there!" Ven whispered.
"Quiet on the set!" Mrs. Flint said.
Waternoose joined her. "Now, give us a big, loud roar."
"Mr. Waternoose, there's no time for this!" Sulley argued.
"Come on, come on, what are you waiting for? Roar!" Waternoose urged.
"But-but-but, sir!" Sulley tried but Waternoose was determined.
"ROAR!"
Sulley sighed in annoyance, turned to the animatronic, and roared ferociously loud.
The animatronic screamed as Sora and Co. were surprised before covering their ears at the noise range.
However, Boo was on the stage, close enough to feel the full impact of Sulley's roar. His glaring eyes and snarling teeth were genuinely horrifying. Sulley haf become a gruesome, terrible monster in her eyes. Terrified, Boo's face widens in fear and she ran to hide.
The recruits were impressed.
"Well done! Well done, James." praised Waternoose.
Sora and Co. uncovered their ears.
"Jesus Christ that was loud…" muttered Terra.
"I only heard that from behind the doors yesterday." muttered Dewey.
"And I thought Hulk had a loud roar." said Lea.
"I think Simba's is louder." said Goofy.
"Nah Kion's is. Roar of the Elders and all." said Sora.
They all froze when they heard Boo crying.
"Boo?" they and Sulley said in unison.
During this, Waternoose and Ms. Flint escorted the recruits out of the room.
"All right, gentlemen." said Waternoose.
"Right this way, everyone." directed Ms. Flint.
"I hope you learned a valuable lesson in scaring today. Read chapters two and three in your manuals. I'll see you all in the morning." Waternoose went on.
Sulley, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Kairi, Aqua, Huey, Webby, and April tried to approach Boo.
"Boo?" Sulley said softly.
"Hey it's okay Boo." Sora soothed.
"Boo? Boo, it's me." Sulley whispered.
"Are you ok Boo?" Donald asked.
"Boo it's us." Webby said softly.
But Boo was too scared. She backed away further from them.
"Boo it's ok, we're not gonna hurt you." said Huey.
"Don't be afraid of us. It's us!" said April.
"It's ok Boo." soothed Aqua.
But Boo was still scared. As she backed up, she tripped over a cable. Her hood flopped open, revealing her scared face.
Waternoose saw this and gasped. "The child!"
Mike rushed over.
"Sir, she isn't toxic. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me." Mike said.
"Oh so now he admits it." grunted Myde.
"Not the time Myde." Isa said firmly before looking at Waternoose. "Mr. Waternoose, you need to know exactly what the hell's going on in your factory."
The nine monsters tried to carefully approach a petrified Boo.
"Boo? No, no, no, no, it's okay. I was just…" Sulley began.
Sulley reached towards Boo, who cringed.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, don't be scared. That wasn't real. It's just a... I was just…" Sulley trailed off when he saw the bank of monitors behind Boo, displaying a still image of Sulley's fearsome roar.
Sulley looked at them closer and saw how ferocious and scary he looked and how scared Boo was. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Kairi, Aqua, Huey, April, and Webby couldn't help but cringe.
"This is what we were talking about."
Everyone looked and saw Lea walk up near Sulley.
"You monsters scare kids, not for the joy of fear, but so their screams can power your town." Lea's face grew grim. "But from their perspective, all they see is monsters scaring them out of their skin, not just making them scream, but making them cry and scared to go back to their room. We know you didn't do it for a selfish intent… but is it worth it when you see the other side?"
Lea's words swirled in Sulley's mind. This was why the 29 world-travelers were skeptical about how their company worked. And now he saw how their scaring affected innocent children like Boo.
Sulley looked crushed at this realization as Sora and Lea patted his shoulder.
Boo ran towards Waternoose, hiding behind one of his crab legs.
"...this scream machine and he was going to test it out on that sweet, little girl." Mike went on in his explanation.
"And that machine is seriously dangerous!" Minnie added. "It could have hurry her!"
"Now that we have her, he is trying to kill US! This whole thing is Randall's fault!" Mike went on.
"Randall?" Waternoose said in surprise.
"Yes. And we can take you to his secret lab, which is right here in this factory." Mike nodded.
"And we know for a fact that he's responsible for the Heartless." said Xion.
Waternoose was stunned as he let this information sink in.
"How could this happen? Oh, how could this happen?" Waternoose sighed. "Does anyone else know about this?"
"No, sir." Mike said.
"Just all of us." said Ven.
"Good. This company can't afford any more bad publicity. Water noise nodded as he picked up Boo. "Now, before we do anything else, let's...take care of the child.
Sulley watched on with remorse.
"I swear this guy is giving off bad vibes." Louie whispered to Lena."
"I know, I just don't know how." said Lena.
Waternoose flipped the switch on the simulator door and it ejected, just like at the Scare Floor. It traveled away on an overhead track.
"Oh, I never thought things would come to this. Not in my factory." Waternoose sighed. "I'm sorry you boys got mixed up in this. Especially you, James." He turned to the travelers. "And I do sincerely apologize that you lot got involved as well, on your second day here no less."
"Oh gosh, Mr. Waternoose." said Mickey. "It was our choice to get involved."
"We were just doin' our job." added Goofy.
"And we just wanted to get Boo home, just like Mike and Sulley." said Sora.
Waternoose nodded. "And you lot did your very best." he said. "But now we can set everything straight again, for the good of the company."
At that moment, a large metal door entered the station, much to everyone's confusion.
"Uh, sir, that's not her door." said Mike.
"Yeah, her door's white with flowers." said Sora.
"And that one's way too big." Dewey added.
"I know, I know." Waternoose said.
Suddenly, Randall uncamouflaged in front of the door, and opened it. Snow swirled through from the other side.
"Randall?!" Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Ven, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby exclaimed as the others gasped.
"It's yours." Waternoose said darkly.
At that moment, Waternoose shoved Mike and Sulley through the door.
"SULLEY! MIKE!" Sora shouted.
But before any of the 29 humans and animals-turned-monsters could run to help, Wild Bruiser Unversed suddenly appeared and trapped them in bear hugs.
Through the metal door, Mike and Sulley landed in the snow. A blizzard was howling past them. Sulley got up and saw Waternoose holding Boo, Sora, and Co. hostage.
"NO!" Sulley shouted as he ran for the door.
But Waternoose had already shut it the moment Sulley opened it again… only to see that the power was cut and it was now simply a doorway leading out to the snowy mountain range.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sulley screamed, his shouts echoing through the mountains.
Monsters Inc.:
Sora and Co. watched in horror as Waternoose slammed the door on Sulley and Randall quickly cut the power as the door was taken away.
"What did you do to them?!" demanded Terra.
"Got rid of them. Isn't that obvious?" Randall smirked.
"What the hell is going on here?!" snapped Lea.
"They knew too much!" Randall replied. "We don't need enemies of Maleficent and especially Master Xehanort snooping around the factory while we conduct our plans."
"I knew it! I knew you were no good!" snapped Louie.
"I expected Randall to be in league with our enemies and responsible for the Heartless, but you too Waternoose?!" exclaimed Riku.
"I put in a lot of effort to bring this company back in good business regardless of the energy crisis." Waternoose said as he held a scared Boo tightly.
"Even if it meant teaming up with crazy villains?!" exclaimed Donald.
"You call them crazy. I see them as useful allies to get our world functioning again." Waternoose replied.
"And our allies are already fed up with your constant meddling." Randall added. "We don't need the likes of you lurking around here."
"You guys are causing trouble throughout this whole world!" exclaimed Sora.
"And all of this to stop the energy crisis?!" added Kairi, disgusted. "You're gonna hurt innocent kids!"
"As I said, it is for the good of the company. Scaring isn't enough anymore!" Waternoose said firmly.
Sora and his friends were furious.
"You're not getting away with this!" Webby yelled.
"The other monsters are gonna find out about this eventually!" added Huey.
"Please, none of them suspect a thing." huffed Randall. "And if the CDA tries to do anything about it, well, they'll just have to find new recruits."
"Once more, genuine sacrifices to be made for the good of the company and the town." Waternoose nodded.
"NONE OF THIS IS OK!" yelled Dewey.
"You heartless, conniving, bastards!" Isa snapped.
"You two are monsters!" Goofy snarled angrily. "You're fucking mosnters!"
"Call 'em what you want. They're just getting the job done."
Sora and Co. froze. Appearing through a corridor was Vanitas. He removed his hood to reveal his new mask.
"Vanitas?!" gasped Mickey.
"So the Unversed really was your doing!" exclaimed Oswald.
"You were helping them!" added Minnie.
"Bravo you royal pains." Vanitas mockingly congratulated. He turned towards Ven. "Hello, brother" Vanitas smirked. "I trust you been well?"
"Oh, thanks for asking, I, as well as the rest of these guys, are doing fine until this sudden development," Ventus said sarcastically. "I see you got a new mask on, I thought I broke your last one back in the MCU."
"Oh you did and during a certain 5-month period I had to SCOUR THROUGH MULTIPLE WORLDS TO FIND THE NECESSARY PARTS IN ORDER TO MAKE A NEW ONE" Vanitas yells at his "brother" furiously. "YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW MANY PEOPLE I HAVE TO DEAL WITH LET ALONE KILLED JUST TO REPAIR IT." he added.
He turned to the Violet and the eight ducks.
"So these are the brats that have been fighting against my Unversed for quite a few times now," Vanitas stated. "My, my what an accomplishment! Now that's something you can put on all your resumes." the doppelgänger of Sora said sarcastically while slowly clapping his hands.
The nine kids glared.
"Yeah that's right, we're the new recruits kicking Unversed butt!" said Dewey.
"You have every right to be afraid of us!" added Webby.
Vanitas laughed. "Afraid of you? Please! Only one of you is magic and not to the extent Magica is." he said.
"Well we've gone on various adventures and we've all come out alive!" said Huey.
"We might as well be the next generation of heroes!" said April.
"And we're gonna take you down!" said May.
"None of you are getting away with this!" said Louie.
"I'm not the one who's trapped in the arms of my Unversed." Vanitas snarked.
"We'll find away out!" sneered June.
"And then all of you are going down!" added Lena.
"You say that now, but things are already going to plan." said Vanitas. "These guys are helping us ensure our victory across the worlds."
"And they're helping ensure ours." Randall smirked.
"Even with their help, you still aren't getting away with this!" Sora yelled.
"We're gonna take you all down!" Roxas added.
"And we're bringing Mike and Sulley back here and taking Boo home!" added Lea.
"Oh I don't think you will." Vanitas said as he summoned a large corridor of darkness. "Randall and Waternoose have made it perfectly clear that they don't need you meddling in this factory. But since your so insistent on seeing your monster friends again…" Vanitas chuckled evilly before stepping tot he side. "Then why don't you join them in BANISHMENT!"
Before anyone could say anything, the Unversed threw all 29 heroes through the corridor. They all yelled in terror as they disappeared through it.
Himalayas:
The group of 29 was flung through the corridor and landed in the snow near Mike and Sulley.
Sulley desperately tried to open the door back to the factory, but there was nothing on the other side.
"No! No! NO! NO! NO! NO!" Sulley cried as he slammed the door open and closed.
They slowly got up.
"What the…. Where are we?" asked Naminé.
"JESUS CHRIST IT'S COLD OUT HERE!" exclaimed Roxas, holding his shoulders.
"I t-t-think we're in the middle of a b-b-blizzard." stuttered Mickey.
"And h-high up in the mountains!" added Aqua, rubbing her arms.
"I can barely see anything!" cried Louie.
"And I'm freezing my fur off!" added Max.
"And I'm freezing my feathers off!" shivered Louie.
"I think my skin is gonna turn blue!" said Lea.
"Wait a minute…" Sora said in realization. "Feathers? Skin?!"
Everyone's eyes widened when they heard Sora. They looked at themselves and their expressions turned to shock and horror.
All 29 of them had reverted back to their normal forms!
"Well shit." Isa cursed.
"We're back to normal?!" exclaimed Dewey.
"How did that happen?" asked May.
"IT WASN'T ME!" Lena shouted.
"We know it wasn't you Lena." said Riku, rubbing his cold arms. "Different worlds give us different forms sometimes like Monstropolis."
"So since we're not in Monstropolis anymore…" began Huey.
"We're no longer in our monster forms." finished Webby.
"Uh guys? We have an audience." Myde said nervously.
"What do you mean audi-oh." Lea winced as they all looked and saw a shocked Mike. His expressions changed to anger.
"WELL THIS EXPLAINS A LOT! YOU'RE ALL HUMANS!" Mike snapped. "YOU'RE NOT REAL MONSTERS! YOU'RE HUMANS, MICE, DUCKS, DOGS, A RABBIT, A CAT, AND-" He trailed off when he saw Violet. "What are you?"
"A hummingbird." Violet shivered.
"Well this is just great! JUST GREAT! First we're banished and now we find out that you lied to us the WHOLE TIME YOU WERE HERE!" Mike snapped.
"What do you mean by banished?" asked Louie.
"We're in THE HUMAN WORLD!" Mike exclaimed before looking at Sulley, who was desperately running his hands along the sides of the door, looking for anything that might activate it. "Oh, what a great idea; goin' to your old pal Waternoose!" Mike said sarcastically before going angry again. "Too bad he was in on the whole thing! All you had to do, was listen to me, just ONCE! But you DIDN'T, did you?!"
But Sulley wasn't listening, making Mike angrier.
"YOU'RE STILL NOT LISTENING! AAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!" Mike snapped.
Mike leapt onto Sulley's back, sending both of them tumbling down the side of the snowy mountain, screaming.
"SULLEY! MIKE!" Sora yelled as he jumped after them.
Everyone followed suit, though Lea, Myde, Donald, Louie, Lena, and June hesitated a bit as they all rolled down the hill.
Mike continued to pound at Sulley as they flipped over an embankment, landing with a thud several yards below.
"Take that!" Mike shouted.
Everyone joined them at the bottom.
"Both of you knock it off!" scolded Aqua.
"Fighting like this isn't gonna solve anything!" scolded Kairi.
"Uh guys?" Sora said.
Everyone looked up and froze in horror when they saw a tall monster looming over them.
"Welcome to the Himalayas!" the monster said happily, revealing himself to be a large white furry monster with grey hands and feet.
Everyone stared in shock.
"Oh great! The abominable snowman!" Louie cried sarcastically. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna pass out."
And Louie fainted… on top of Lena and they fell into the snow. The magic duck instantly blushed.
Abominable's cave:
Abominable had escorted everyone to his cave. Everyone was trying their best to warm up. Mike huddles around a lantern for warmth, wearing mittens on his horns, his hands, and his feet.
The others were gathered around small piles of wood Abominable had in his cave that Lea, Donald, and Lena magically set on fire.
"Oh this is so much better." Xion said, relaxed.
"Man this fire is really warming us up." said Ven.
"It's not much, but the magic is nice and warm." said Goofy said as he held Max close to him.
"Sharing body heat helps too." said Max. "It's weird, but worth it."
"Especially if you're wearing shirt sleeves," said Kairi as she and Sora snuggled close.
"Ah my feathers feel much better…" June said happily.
"Now we won't be frozen birds." said May.
"Thanks for the flames you three." Aqua said to Lea, Donald, and Lena, who smiled back.
"Least we could do. If you guys need a campfire, we're always at the ready." Lea smirked. "Got it memorized?"
"And thank you for letting us stay here to warm up Mr. Snowman." said Naminé.
"Hey it's the least I could do for you kooky folks." the yeti replied.
"Is it true that you're referred to as the Abominable Snowman?" asked Myde.
"They still call me that?" he said, amused before chuckling."Abominable! Can you believe that? Do I look abominable to you?"
"Not at all." smiled Xion.
"You did take us in out of the snow." said Terra.
"He also sounds like Hamm." Ven whispered to Roxas.
"Yeah and Sulley sounds like Pacha." Roxas added.
"We don't know many monsters or famous legends that would do that." said Donald.
"Exactly! Why can't they call me the 'Adorable Snowman', or... or the 'Agreeable Snowman', for crying out loud? I'm a nice guy." Abominable said as he pulled up a tray of yellow snowcones to Mike. "Snowcone?"
"Yeech." Mike griaced, thinking the yellow was something else.
"Oh, no, no, no. Don't worry. It's lemon." Abominable quickly assured them.
The nine kids, feeling a little hungry, each took a snow cone and tasted them. Their faces lit up.
"This really is lemon." Dewey grinned.
"You must have a habit of making these stuff." Huey mused.
"Do you have any other flavors?" asked Violet.
"Oh sure. I got cotton candy, bubble gum, cherry and many others you could count." Abominable replied, gesturing to the back.
"Sweet!" June grinned as they all went into the back.
"Snowcones during a blizzard?" questioned Oswald.
"Well it's not like the monster world has that much great food." Ortensia pointed out.
"Good thing I got plenty here." said Abominable, picking up another tray. "How about you, big fella? Snowcone?"
Sulley was sitting at the mouth of the cave, staring at his hands.
"Did you see the way she... looked at me?" he said in anguish, burying his face in his hands.
Sora and Co. looked at him sympathetically.
"Poor Sulley, and all of this happened so fast." sighed Aqua.
"First he realizes how wrong scaring kids for power is, then he finds out Waternoose is a traitor like Randall, and now this." said Sora.
"It's all happening so fast that it's just wrong." said Kairi.
"For both him and Mike. All of Monsters' Inc. has been duped by Waternoose and Randall." said Riku.
"And with Organization XIII's help no less." Mickey added.
"Jesus, how many villains did they team up with?" asked Roxas, perplexed.
"Probably a lot more than the last time I was there." said Isa.
"I'll talk to him." said Lea.
"Are you sure Lea?" asked Xion.
"Someone's gotta." Lea shrugged before smiling. "Besides, several of us were, in some ways, kinda in his position before. Got it memorized?"
Everyone gave the spiky redhead amused looks as he walked towards Sulley. The pyro sat down next to him.
"You ok big guy?" he asked.
"No Lea I'm not." Sulley sighed. "This whole time I though we were doing the right thing. All we wanted to do was help power out city, our home. But the look on Boo's face… she was terrified of me."
"I think she was terrified of all of us." Lea grunted.
"I've never really seen what a monster looks like when they scare… at least in the eyes of a child. They're the ones we scare." Sulley went on. "I never wanted her to be scared of us. All us scarers really are monsters. Not in terms of species."
Lea patted Sulley's furry shoulder. "I wouldn't go that far." he said. "I mean, sure Randall and Waternoose are, hell, Goofy of all people said so, f-bomb in tow. But you, Mike, and the others? Nah. You guys just didn't see the other side until right now."
Lea sighed. "You know Sull', some of us were in your position too." he said.
"You were?" Sulelya sked, surprise.d
"Sorta." Lea said. "Me, Isa, Roxas, Xion, Myde, and even Riku and Terra. We were all manipulated by our enemies to do things for them that we thought was right. But our actions were our own and several of our other friends got hurt. Though they recovered, the guilt lingered in us." Lea smiled. "But we were all given second chances to things right and it all worked out. And it still is to this day."
Lea faced Sulley. "My point it Sulley, you guys never realized what kind of trouble you unintentionally caused just to help yourselves. But now that you know the consequences of your actions, you can make things right. Once we get back, we'll save Boo, take those pathetic excuses of monsters down, get the girl home, and maybe even find another way to power your town. You have a chance to make things right. Take my advice… and take it. Got it memorized?"
Sulley was silent for a bit.
"I... I think I do..." he said.
"That's good." Lea said approvingly.
"So... you guys are all humans and animals?" Sulley asked.
Lea grimaced.
And from behind him, his teammates shared the same expression.
"YYYYYYYYYYYYes. We... We are." Lea admitted. "Look, we're sorry we never told you."
"So why didn't you?" Sulley asked.
"You guys have your orders in your world, we have ours whenever we go to other ones." Lea replied. "But our enemies screwed that up. We just had to be sure we could trust you."
"I see." said Sulley. "Well I suppose I can't blame you. You we're just following your orders."
"Not much of an order anymore, but it still stands." Lea said. "Just think about what I said, ok?"
"Of course." Sulley nodded.
Sulley thought over Lea's words as the redhead got up and rejoined his friends. He then saw Donald and Daisy looking over at the kids, guilt on their faces. Their teammates took notice as well.
"Are you two ok?" asked Mickey.
"I just feel so bad that we got the kids involved in this mess." Daisy sighed.
"We're supposed to be protecting them like we promised their parents and guardians and look what happened! We all got banished to the Himalayas!" Donald exclaimed.
"Aw, don't be too hard on yourselves, you two." Goofy said sympathetically. "I mean, they wanted to come with us."
"And they still got put in danger!" Daisy said.
"Danger lurks behind us all the time Daisy." said Lea. "We're used to it by now."
"And again, they wanted to come with us despite the risks." said Sora.
"Still, we got them trapped in a snowy blizzard." Donald sighed.
"They're probably regretting even joining us in the first place." Daisy muttered.
"You really think that?"
The 20 travellers looked to see the nien kids walk up. It had been Webby who spoke.
"You think we regret joining you guys?" she asked.
"Well they do and I can see why they would think that." said Terra. "We're trapped in the Himalayas and there's monsters out there threatening children."
"Yeah we can see why your uncle and aunt would think you guys would regret coming with us." sighed Roxas.
"Are you kidding?! We're having a great time!" exclaimed Dewey, much to everyone's surprise.
"Minus the whole 'threatening children thing.'" April added.
"But why?" asked Donald.
"Because we're on an adventure with you guys! Duh!" said May. "Just like our adventures with Uncle Scrooge!"
"But this is more dangerous." Daisy said.
"Like Lea said, danger lurks behind us all the time." said Huey. "But it's the thrill of it and the accomplishments that make it all worth it."
"And we're helping you guys help innocent lives no matter what species they are." said Violet.
"And we're all working together to save this one world from the darkness. That has to count for something, right?" June added.
"Yes we're banished right now, but we can find a way out! We always so!" said Webby.
"I thought adventures wouldn't be my thing, even when we begged to come with you." said Louie. He smiled. "But fighting those bad guys and trying to protect this world, it actually felt… good inside, y'know?"
"Louie's right." nodded Lena. "Yes this is kinda scary right now, but not once did any of us regret joining you guys. We even talked it over while Abominable took us here. We're happy we joined you guys on this mission. We'll find a way back. Because we got each other to figure it out."
Lena put her hands on Donald and Daisy's shoulders. "We don't regret joining you. We like helping people, even if some of us can be a bit greedy. But in the end, we're just happy to be sharing this adventure, not just with our aunt and uncle, but with all 20 of you. And it is so worth it." she said with a smile.
Sora and Co. were surprised, but smiled.
"Aw kids!" Donald gushed as he and Daisy hugged the nine kids, who happily hugged back.
"That was so sweet of them." smiled Xion.
"I'm glad they joined us." said Sora.
"Me too Sora. Me too." said Aqua.
"I still feel bad for Sulley." said Naminé. "He's not a monster in terms of a bad person. Neither is Mike. They didn't deserve this."
"Ah I understand." Abominable said as he came closer to the group. "It ain't easy being banished. Take my buddy, Bigfoot. When he was banished, he fashioned an enormous diaper out of poison ivy. *chuckles* Wore it on his head like a tiara. Called himself 'King Itchy'."
Everyone looked at him as though he was insane.
"It won't be so hard for you guys, though, you know, I mean, how lucky can you get? Banished with your best friends."
"He is not my friend." Mike spat.
Everyone was surprised. "Oh, I just assumed you were buddies, you know, when I saw you out there in the snow hugging and all that…"
Mike stared angrily at Sulley.
"Look at that big jerk. Ruined my life, and for what? A STUPID KID! Because of you, I am now stuck in this frozen wasteland!" Mike snapped.
"Easy Mike calm down!" said Sora. "We'll figure out a way out of here."
"And Wasteland? I think you mean 'Wonderland'!" said Abominable. "I mean, how 'bout all this fabulous snow, huh? Oh, and wait 'til you see the local village - cutest thing in the world. I haven't even mentioned all the free yak's milk…"
Sulley's eyes widened at "local village", as did the travellers.
"Wait. What did you say?" Sulley asked.
"Uh, yak's milk. Milking a yak ain't exactly a picnic, but you know, once you pick the hairs out, it's very nutritious." Abominable replied.
The humans and toons gagged.
"Oh god that's disgusting." said Louie.
"I am not milking a yak." said Roxas.
Sulley jumped up and ran towards Abominable. "No, no! Something about a village! Where? Are there kids in it?" he asked.
"Kids? Sure. Tough kids, sissy kids, kids who climb on rocks…" Abominable began.
"WHERE IS IT?!" demanded Sulley.
"It's at the bottom of the mountain. Around a three-day hike." Abominable quickly replied.
"Three days?!" Sulley groaned. "We need to get there NOW!"
Sulley punched the wall in frustration, sending a piece of ice across the floor. It stopped in front of a pile of hiker paraphernalia piled in the corner of the cave. Sulley's eyes lit up. He took the lantern over and began assembling pieces of wood together.
"Whaddya doing Sulley?" Goofy asked.
"Making a sled so we can get to the village faster." Sulley replied.
"Good idea, and we can use our gliders!" said Kairi.
"You sure you don't wanna ride with us?" asked Ven.
"He's too big. He'll fall over. Sled's the safest option for him." Terra said.
"I'm really hoping right now we don't get lost this blizzard." said Myde
"Relax, Myde" Dewey said before pointing at Louie. "As long as Captain Lost isn't leading us we'll be fine."
Louie grumbled in annoyance. Everyone else looked puzzled as and Webby and Lena giggled.
"Captain Lost?" Sora asked.
"Oh this whole crazy story where we all went kayaking, and Louie..." Huey began.
"GOT US LOST!" laughed Dewey. "And it happened again on the day Webby met Lena!"
"Not sure I'm getting the joke here." Lea said.
"That's okay, neither did I. And I still don't get it." Webby said.
"You sorta had to be there to see Louie getting us lost." said Huey.
"Hey, you were the ones who put me in charge of the map so it's not on me!" Louie retorted, turning with his arms crossed.
"Captain Lost, Captain Lost, CAPTAIN LOST!" chanted Dewey.
"Oooh! You take back the tone of that chant!" Louie snapped.
Louie tackled Dewey and began trying to strangle him with Huey trying to separate them.
"Oh for god's sake." Isa grunted.
"Is', they're kids." said Lea.
"This is such a petty squabble." sighed Oswald.
"Sounds like Louie's had it with the title." said Roxas.
"Aww! Look at them, they're like us when us girls bicker, only cuter." May gushed.
"And...that's a good thing because...?" said June, confused.
"Glad to know some things haven't changed while I was in the Shadow Realm." Lena said with a fond smile.
"Donald, shouldn't you try to stop them?" asked Kairi.
"Nope. The boys get into these sorts of arguments all the time. Now I just let them fight and vent it out of their system." said Donald.
"As long as no one gets hurt, then good." said Daisy.
"You all wanna go to the village?" Abominable asked before getting serious. "Okay, rule number one out here: Always…no. Never go out in a blizzard."
"We need to get to Boo." Sulley replied.
SMACK!
A snowball hit Sulley in the back. Everyone - including the boys who had stopped fighting at that point - quickly pointed to Mike - he did it with the snowcone.
"BOO?! WHAT ABOUT US?!" Mike demanded as he threw another snowball. "Ever since that kid came in, you've ignored everything I've said, and NOW look where we are!" he said as he threw another one. "Oh, we were about to break the record, Sulley. We would've had it made!" he said as he prepared to throw another.
"None of that matters now!" Sulley said.
Mike paused in surprise. "None of it matters? Wa-wa-wait a second. None of it matters? Okay, that's - no. Good. Great. So now the truth comes out, doesn't it?" he muttered as he threw the snowcone away.
There was an uncomfortable pause.
"Oh, would you look at that? We're out of snowcones. Let me... just go outside and make some more." Abominable said as he scurried out of the cave.
"Should we do something?" Dewey asked.
"I believe the logical thing to do will be to let Sulley and Mike talk this out." said Violet.
"And we should get ready to leave." Mickey added.
The group made their way to the cave entrance.
"Sulley, what about everything we ever worked for?" Mike asked. "Does that matter? Huh? What about Celia? I am never... never gonna see her again. Doesn't that matter?"
Sulley finished building a makeshift toboggan. In silence, he slowly pushed it past Mike.
"And what about me?" Mike asked. "I'm your pal, I'm-I'm-I'm your best friend. Don't I matter?"
Sulley joined up with the group. He sighed heavily. "I'm sorry, Mike. I'm sorry we're stuck out here. I didn't mean for this to happen. But Boo's in trouble. And it's possible our world is too based on what Sora and the others are fighting. "I think there might be a way to save her, if we can just get down to that–"
"'We'? Whoa, whoa, whoa. 'We'? No." Mike sighed. "I'm not in this 'we' this time, pal.'We' is you and that whole group of humans and animals. If-if-if you wanna go out there and freeze to death, you be my guest. Because you're on your own."
Mike turned his back on Sulley, folding his arms. There was nothing Sulley can say. He turned and pushes the toboggan out of the cave.
Sora and Co. sighed.
"Is this really how you wanna do this Mike?" asked Isa.
"After everything we worked for, what do you think?" Mike replied.
"Mike, we're sorry that all of this happened." said Aqua.
"But we have a chance to get back and set things right." said Max. "Don't you wanna make things right?"
"He risked everything; our lives, our careers, and our future." Mike stubbornly said. "All for a kid. And look where that got us!"
"Waternoose tricked us all Mike." reminded Terra.
"And our enemy Vanitas got us out of the blue. That was how we got banished." said Minnie.
"But Sulley was risking it all for a little kid, a kid who's in danger right now." said Riku.
"Yeah, a kid like us! Only younger!" added April.
"And now you guys know why scaring kids for power is wrong." said Mickey. "We get that you meant no harm, but you never saw the other side."
"These kids deserve no harm, including Boo. And that's why Sulley was willing to risk a lot in order to get her home and away from our enemies." said Webby.
"I… guess you're right." Mike muttered. "But you guys still lied to us too."
Sora and Co. sighed.
"We know we did." Riku said. "But we had no choice."
"The other world we come from, like yours and this human world, there's an order." Terra said.
"But our enemies messed it all up with their plans." said Oswald.
"We never wanted to. We just had to be sure we could all trust you guys." said Huey.
"And Randall and Waternoose are working with them and Boo is in danger, as well as many other kids, just so you guys can have more power." said Louie.
"All at the expense of nearly killing kids." Lena added.
"We know you've been put through a lot Mike. trust us, we've all been too." said Sora. "But you need to figure out what's more important, Mike. You can join us, save Boo, and stop those two assholes from causing anymore trouble… and save your world."
"Trust us Mike, it'll all be worth it in the end." said Lea. "And we know what we're talking about.
With that, the 20 world-travelers summoned their signature Keyblades which turned into their gliders. Huey rode with Riku, Dewey rode with Sora, Louie rode with Lea, Webby rode with Kairi, Lena rode with Xion, Violet rode with Roxas, April rode with Aqua, May rode with Terra, and June rode with Ven.
Mike watched them all go as he stared at the exit from the cave. Everyone's words circled in his head.
Sulley raced down the mountainside on his makeshift sled. The lantern dangled from a ski pole on the sled, lighting the way as Sulley navigated the treacherous terrain. Sora and Co. flew behind him so he could help navigate them too.
They zipped past Abominable, who was holding a tray of snow.
"Hey, I got more snowcones!" he called.
"Some other time buddy!" Dewey called.
Everyone narrowly missed boulders.
"Man it's hard to see with all this snow!" said Myde.
"I concur!" said Violet.
"Good thing we warmed up so we're not as freezing as before!" said Kairi.
"We have to keep moving!" said Sulley. "We need to find the village!"
"LOOK OUT!" Lea shouted.
Before anyone realized it, they all hit some rocks and were knocked all into the snow. The gliders were dismissed as Sulley's sled fell apart.
After a couple of minutes, everyone slowly began to get back up.
"Oh that was… not a good landing…" June mumbled.
"Is everyone ok?" asked Ortensia.
"Yeah… y-yeah we are…" Sora mumbled.
"Well… so much for that…" grunted Riku.
"Now how are we gonna find the village?" groaned Donald,
Suddenly, they all heard something in the distance.
"Was that… a child screaming?" Naminé asked.
"Or was that the wind?" asked Dewey.
Another scream, this one louder than the first, sounded out.
"There it is again!" said Daisy.
"Gawrsh, that one sounded louder!" said Goofy.
Through the snow, everyone could barely make out a small Tibetan village.
"The village!" Sora, Kairi, Ven, Roxas, Naminé, Xion, Mickey, Lea, Huey, Dewey, Webby, and May shouted.
"We found it!" shouted Minnie.
"Come on, we have no time to loose!" Sulley said determinedly.
"Then let's skedaddle!" said Goofy.
Everyone ran through the snow towards the village.
"How do we know which door to choose?" asked Webby.
"Just look for a house that doesn't have it's lights on." said Sulley. "Any minute then a monster will come throu8gh to scare."
"And then we'll be back in Monstropolis, good planning!" said Terra.
"Let's pick up the pace! I'm freezing!" said Louie.
And everyone raced on into the village. They had a kid and a world full of monsters to save.
To be continued…
