And now we see Della trying to be a good parent… key word "trying".
And following it is a battle with an old for from the Duck Twins' past with some unexpected results.
And I'm sorry it'd been over a month. Work, trying to get back into things, and all those suggestions for Tripped! and White Hare, it was complicated, plus rehearsal for this musical I'm in.
And thank you Corey but you can STOP sending those Avengers guest notes please. I can only do so many stories at at time.
Enjoy!
McDuck Manor:
Beakley pulled up to the front door before getting out and opened the limo door.
Out stepped Scrooge, Donald, Daisy, Della, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Lena, Violet, April, May, and June.
"God I missed riding in that limo." Della said fondly.
At that moment, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Naminé, Roxas, Lea, Isa, Myde, Xion, Terra, Aqua, Ven, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Max, Oswald, Ortensia, Hayner, Pence, and Olette flew in on their gliders. Pluto and Figaro had come too, riding in the mouse king and queen's gliders.
"I feel the need!" said Sora.
"Feel the need for speed!" he and Riku said in unison as they high-fived. (1)
"Man taking those gliders is always a blast!" said Hayner.
"You ain't wrong Hayner." said Lea.
Those who had never been at McDuck Manor before were amazed by the sight before them.
"Ooh!" the Duck Girls said in awe.
Lea whistled, impressed. "Now that's a mansion." he said.
"It's so big!" said Pence.
"Not castle big, but pretty big." said Myde.
"Thanks again for letting us stay here until they clear out the castle." said Sora.
"Ah it's my pleasure lad." said Scrooge. "After all, you lot have done a lot for our world. It's only fair that you get another temporary place to stay."
"What about Professor Von Drake?" asked Naminé.
"Oh he has his own home with my sister Matilda." said Scrooge. "Anyways, as I said, I have a dozen or so guest bedrooms you all can stay in, just like the castle."
"Can't wait to check them out." said Oswald.
"But this place is so big!" said Lea.
"Yeah it's so long!" said Roxas.
"And pretty tall." said Ortensia.
"Heinrich are you?!" asked Myde.
"His fortune is in the Bin over there." said Goofy, pointing to said bin.
Scrooge unlocked the doors and everyone entered the mansion.
As they did, Ven stood outside for a bit staring at the mansion.
Webby took notice of this. "Hey what's wrong Ven?" she asked.
"Webby, pardon me for asking but… what was it like having been confined to this manor for 10 years?" Ven asked.
"I will admit it was… a little hed." Webby admitted. "Being in just this big mansion was something for a little girl like me. But I was able to explore new places and do training with Granny to prepare me for the outside world… only if she felt like I was ready. I spent the rest studying Scrooge's family. Why do you ask?"
"It just… reminded me of being confined in hismy home for a long time, in the Land of Delarture." Ven replied. "I was never really allowed to explore other worlds or go on missions like Terra and Aqua."
Flashback, before the events of Birth By Sleep:
Ven was in his room standing by the window, staring outside into the sky with rain pouring down and thunder crackling from it. Ven kept staring with a longing look, wondering how long it would be before he was finally able to leave this place and go explore other worlds and make new friends like Terra and Aqua do.
Present:
"It was hard just waiting around since Master Eraqus wanted to keep me safe." Ven said. "And now I know why thanks to Xehanort and Vanitas.
"I can see why." said Webby.
"But now that I've tracked many worlds and achieved the ranking of a Keyblade Master, I'm able to explore worlds, make new friends, and save many lives." Ven said with a smile.
"Same here!" said Webby, beaming happily. "Granny now let's me adventure with the family and it is a blast every time! Even with the near-death experiences!"
Ven chuckled. "Guess we got something in common." he mused.
"Yeah! I guess we do!" Webby nodded.
And the two went inside the mansion.
Those who had never been inside before were in awe of their surroundings.
"Now look at this place…" mused Terra.
"Very impressive Mr. McDuck." commented Aqua.
"You rich and royal folks really know how to live it up." said Ven.
"Technically it is my house but thank you." said Beakley.
"How many rooms does this place have?!" asked April.
"Probably a hundred!" said May.
"It might be as big as the castle!" said June.
"Well it is good living quarters until the castle is cleaned from the chemical gas." said Mickey.
"Stay as long as you need to until then." said Scrooge.
As theory all looked around, Lea couldn't help but look at Della. "Why does she look familiar?" he asked out loud.
"What are you talking about Lea?" Roxas asked.
"I just feel like I've seen Della before." Lea said. "And I don't mean in any pictures or something."
All eyes went on Lea.
"You say you've seen Mom before?" asked Dewey.
"Since when?" asked Lena.
"Ugh! I just wish I knew!" Lea said as the thought hard. "Let's see, Della, moon, rocket ship, monster-" Lea paused. "Hold on a second… that's it! I saw Della on the moon when I was Axel!"
Everyone gasped, though Della was confused.
"When you were Axel?" she asked.
"It was Lea's name when he was a Nobody in Xemnas' Organization XIII." said Isa. "Mine was Saïx."
"And mine was Demyx." said Myde. "Roxas and Xion remained the same."
"When were you on the moon?" asked Mickey.
"During one of my missions." said Lea. "I found Della after… well it's kinda hard to explain."
"I can help with that." said Naminé.
"That's right her memory powers!" said Scrooge. "Beakley, the projector!
Beakley went into the living room and pushed out a projector on a cart. She plugged it on and Naminé put her hand onto it and another onto Lea's head. A large image appeared on the doors and wall. Everyone gasped at what they saw in the image.
"Uh what's she doing?" asked Della.
"Naminé has memory powers." said Riku. "What started out as memory manipulation turned to memory projection. She can play memories now, tocuhignt her person's head and a device."
"Cool!" Della said in awe.
Red and brown bruises cover every part of Della's body as she laid on the ground, blood seeping out of her claw marks and cuts, blood running down her forehead, her bra was tattered, her trousers are full of holes, she had a black eye and her hair was a mess as more strands stood out than ever and more small bangs had fallen in front of her face.
The boys cried out in alarm as they hugged their mom. Della could only wince at her battered and bruised form.
"Oh my god!" gasped Sora.
"Holy shit!" shouted Ven.
"What the fuck?!" breathed Max.
"Jesus Christ!" cried Naminé.
"Della what the hell happened?!" cried Donald.
"Giant Heartless attacked me on the moon." Della shuddered. "I fought as hard as I could, I used every fighting tactic I could think of, I gave everything I fucking had…. But it wasn't enough! And that giant monster beat the hell outta me… I was so badly hurt and bruised I couldn't even move."
Donald quickly embraced his sister as if she would collapse from those wounds at any moment.
"It's over. Even after all that…I still lost…and that's because of my own arrogance." Della said weakly. "Sorry Donald…Scrooge…Daisy…boys…I tried…I guess…this really is the end for me.
She prepared to accept her fate and the Spike Crawler prepared to finish her but it turned in response to a whistle. A pair of chakrams with multiple spikes on the edges were thrown and they stabbed the Heartless in the face and center, destroying it completely. The chakrams dropped to the ground, the barrier disappeared and if Della wasn't in so much agony she'd be shocked.
Everyone was surprised.
"Chakrams?!" gasped Xion.
"Wait is that…" Louie asked, looking up at Lea.
Lea nodded.
Della's able to keep her eyes barely open enough to see a hooded man in a black coat pick up the chakrams he threw. He holds one by his side and rests other on his shoulders as he looks down on the broken Della.
Della: W-who are you? Are you…the one who saved me?
The man says nothing. Underneath the hood was a man in his 20's with whitish skin, green eyes, purple marks under them and red hair. It was none other than the Nobody of Lea, Axel of Organization XIII on a scouting mission. He looked at Della with a cold expression. Della wasn't able to see because of the hood and she mustered enough strength to beggingly reach out to Axel.
"Please…I'm too weak to move…my body is broken…help me…" Della weakly begged.
Axel was silent for a moment.
"If I had a heart you'd have my sympathy…from the heart." Axel said coldly. "But whatever happens to you doesn't concern my mission so I'll just leave you to your fate. See ya."
Everyone looked at Lea in shock.
"You just left her injured there?!" exclaimed Webby.
"Lea how could you do that?!" asked Aqua.
"That's our Mom!" shouted Dewey.
"That is cold man!" Sora frowned.
"Not cool Lea." said Roxas, shaking his head.
"Again, I didn't know she was your mom." Lea said, holding his hands up in defense. "And besides, I was on a mission. And that mission was to destroy the Heartless. Besides, I was a Nobody back then. I had no heart, like I said."
"He is correct." said Isa. "All nobodies don't feel anything… or at least that was the lie Xemnas told us."
"Still can't believe I was right." Myde muttered.
"But it doesn't end there." said Della.
The hooded Axel proceeds to leave. He walked past Della only to stop when he feels his coat get tugged from the bottom. He turned his head down to see the female duck desperately clutching onto him.
"Please…I'm begging you…don't…leave me like this…I…I don't want to die here. I have to…get back home…I have to…get back…to my family…" Della pleaded, her voice hoarse.
"Family, huh?" Axel said before he muttered to himself. "I don't remember who my family is."
Everyone gave Lea looks of sympathy.
"We're your family Lea." Roxas said gently.
"All of us." said Xion.
"Thanks guys." smiled Lea.
"Please…take me back to my ship…help me…get back to them…my brother… my boys…I…" Della begged.
Feeling all her energy leave, she groaned in pain and her head dropped down as she slipped into unconsciousness. Axel looked at her for a few seconds as though he contemplates helping her but proceeded to leave her again.
There was a shot of his face, turning from blank to contemplated.
"Gawrsh, did you have second thoughts Lea?" asked Goofy.
"Nah… just remembering the good times with these two, Goof." Lea replied, gesturing over to Roxas and Xion, who smiled. "Guess Della's works spiked some memories."
Axel gasped a little and stopped in his place before turning back to face Della. Seeing the broken and hurt expression on her face and her talk about wanting to see her family…he can't help but think about his best friends. He stared at the bruised, battered and unconscious Della for a couple minutes that felt like an eternity. He sighed and threw his hands up in frustration.
"Seriously? Since when did you grow a conscience, Axel?" he muttered.
"When you were tasked to look after Roxas." Isa replied.
"Guess so, zombie-like as he was." Lea chuckled.
"Shadup!" Roxas said, playfully annoyed.
He walked over to Della and loomed above her, looking down on her unconscious and broken figure with a smirk as he dismissed his chakrams.
"Why do I always get stuck with the icky jobs?" he muttered.
He bends down and the whole screen turned black.
Axel was now effortlessly dragging Della by her long hair as he made his way through the barren wastelands on the moon.
"A rocket ship, huh? I saw something like that." he said. "It's lucky for you that this little space rocks gravity doesn't affect me at all."
"How is that?" asked Max. "Do Nobodies not need oxygen?"
"Perks of that kind of magic." said Lea.
"Thank god for oxygen spells." said Sora.
"I would've loved to have that instead of that gum." Della grumbled.
Della was barely able to open her eyes. Her vision is blurry but clear enough to see and feel herself getting pulled.
"What's happening…? Where am I…?" she mumbled.
Axel didn't hear and she slipped into unconsciousness again. It was at that moment the standard Darkside Heartless appeared behind the hooded Axel and proceeded to attack them both only for the redhead to snap his fingers and destroy the giant hHeartless in an enormous pillar of flames.
"Right, like I didn't see that coming." he laughed.
Everyone was surprised.
"You never mentioned you could do that!" exclaimed May.
"Frightening but impressive." said Oswald.
"That was how I killed Vexen." Lea said. "Thankfully I can't do that anymore."
"Why not?! That would solve our problems!" said Donald.
"Someone may get caught in the crossfire." Lea replied.
A couple of days later Axel arrived at the crater of the Spear of Selene. He threw Della forward and she slowly floated down the crater with Axel dropping straight to the ground on his feet.
"God that looks so cool…" Dewey said in awe.
"And pretty fun." hummed Ven.
Della rolled on the floor and Axel picked her up, holding her over his shoulder before making his way inside.
Axel walked inside the main control room and gave an impressive whistle.
"Real homey place you got here lady." he said.
He spotted a bed and dropped Della to the floor. He crossed his arms and brought back a leg. He casually kicked Donald's sister across her back and she smacked into the wall before landing on her bed.
"Did you really have to kick her like that?" Huey asked.
"It's not like I was hurting her. Plus, it gives me that cool bad boy vibe." Lea shrugged before smirking. "Besides, she was unconscious so I'm sure she didn't feel it."
"I sure didn't." Della replied.
"Ladies and gentlemen, The Bad Boy of the Moon." deadpanned Violet.
Everyone snickered as Lea rolled his eyes.
Axel straightened her up and looked at the damage done to her, cringing a little himself at what's happened to her.
"There's a lot of blood to clean up and limps to bandage. Guess I better get started." he said.
Though he lacks medical knowledge, in a couple of hours Axel was able to wipe off the blood, bruises and sweat that had stained Della's body. There were still some bruises that couldn't be wiped off as well as the cuts, claw marks and black eye. Axel bandages up a lot of Della's body, most notably around her abdomen, arms (her left arm slung in a cast), chest and forehead. Plasters were placed on small areas of her body and a large one had been placed over the claw mark on her face.
"That should stop any more blood loss, now for the finishing touch." Axel hummed.
He gets out a gold bottle of Elixir, pours some over a folded cloth before placing it over Della's forehead. Then he poured the liquid over Della's body and then down her beak for her to swallow. With that done he looks at her with compassion as her black eye fades back to its normal color.
"It'll be alright. You'll be safe now. Guess my job here's done. No need to stay in this space dump." he said.
Everyone was impressed.
"You did a good job bandaging her up." commented Beakley.
"Well I couldn't do any cure spells." said Lea. "So I had to make do with what I got… and whatever the Heartless dropped."
He opened up a dark corridor and proceeded to exit until he heard moaning.
"My brother…please…help…me…" Della moaned.
Axel couldn't help but stare at her again before spotting her Wayfinder drop out of her pocket. He picked it up, giving it a good look as it reminded her of the peculiar shell Xion cherished. In an act of compassion he placed the charm on Della's hand which he placed over her chest to rest peacefully.
Donald gasped. "Y-You… you still had the charm…?" he breathed.
"I always did bro." Della smiled, holding hers out.
Donald did like wise. The two ducks smiled fondly at each other.
Everyone else did too. Especially Terra, Ven, and Aqua, who held their charms in their grasps.
With that he took his leave via the dark corridor and disappeared.
The memory stopped. Everyone took in what had happened.
"Wow… what a memory…" breathed Sora.
"That's putting it very lightly Sora." said June.
"I'm surprised you forgot all about this Lea." said Terra.
"A lot of other stuff came up as the days went by." Lea shrugged. "Guess it slipped my mind up until I saw Della's face hours ago."
Della chuckled. "All the same Lea, thank you so much for helping me get better." she said thankfully. "After that helluva beating that Heartless gave me, I honestly though it was over. But you prevented that from happening!"
"Hey it was the least I could do." Lea smiled.
"I'm stull surprised given an event like that, you never brought it up." said April.
"Because A. I didn't know she was Donald's long-lost twin sister stuck on the Moon. I honestly thought she lived there." Lea replied.
"Seriously?" Olette asked.
"Well I technically did for 11 years." said Della.
"And B. I was on a mission for Xemnas and just wanted it over with." Lea added. "The guy seemed to be in a foul mood, especially since it had been some time since half of the original Organization had been destroyed; Vexen, Larxene, Lexaeus, Marluxia, and Zexion… even though two of them were traitors."
"You killed Vexen." Riku pointed out. "And you had his replica of me kill Zexion."
"Something I am not proud of." Lea sighed. "But hey, they were all restored as Even and Ienzo. Aeleus too."
"What about the other two?" asked Della.
"Sora did destroy Marluxia and Larxene but they became Nobodies again as part of Xehanort's organization." said Xion.
"Back on topic, I wanted to get the mission over with so Xemnas wouldn't be breathing down my neck." said Lea. "But in a time of compassion I came back to help Della out before she was all better. Couldn't do it multiple times otherwise Xemnas would get suspicious." He looked at Della. "But if I had known what was going on, I would've helped you."
"Aw thanks Lea!" Della smiled. "Man, talk about an interesting day today! First being reunited with my family, meeting new friends, and now being under a proper new roof in my old home?!" Della said happily. "Oh man I don't know how much more exciting this day can even get!"
Donald and Daisy snickered as they dragged Della into the screening room. Everyone else snickered.
"Why did you guys drag me in here?" Della asked.
"Della. Guess what. You're going to get a new official sister-in-law." Donald grinned.
"Wait, what?" Della blinked.
Daisy came up next to Donald and he wrapped his arm around her, both smiling at Della. She gasped, starting to put two and two together.
"Are you telling me...?" the pilot began.
Daisy presented the engagement ring which Della gasped even louder at.
"Ohmygosh...you two are...you're going to…" Della asked.
"Surprise!" Daisy giggled. "That's right, Della. Donald proposed to me a while ago. The two of us are engaged. We're going to marry soon."
Della was struggling to process it all until she was screaming with joy and hugging her brother and her sister-figure. Donald and Daisy were surprised by this but leaned into it. Della was squealing so much she nearly sounded like a mouse.
"OH MY GOD! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS FINALLY HAPPENING! MY BROTHER AND MY BEST FRIEND ABOUT TO TIE THE KNOT! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I'VE EVER HEARD!" Della screamed happily. "OH THE WEDDING'S GONNA BE SO COOL AND YOUR BABIES WILL LOOK JUST LIKE YOU GUYS! OH THEY'LL BE SO CUTE!"
Della then lightly punched Donald in the arm.. "Way to go Don! I was wondering when you'd propose to her. I was starting to worry you didn't have the guts to go for it." she commented.
"Aww." Donald smiled before he did a double-take. "Hey! What's the supposed to mean!?"
"Oh, nothing." Della said coyly. She then looked at Daisy. "And congrats to you Daisy! You're gonna love having Donald as a husband!"
"I have no doubt about that." Daisy said, giving Donald a kiss on the cheek and he blushes. "And just think, we're finally going to be official sisters!"
"I know, right!?" Della said excitedly. Then a thought struck her. "Wait, other than the proposal I haven't missed anything wedding related, have I?"
"Nope, we haven't even done an engagement party yet." replied Donald. "The wedding's going to happen after we kill Xehanort."
Della breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew! That's a relief. I am so glad right now I made it back on Earth in time for this." she said.
Della then had an idea as she ran out the door.
"Wonder what she's doing." hummed Daisy.
"Hopefully nothing reckless. She did just get back." said Donald.
Della rushed into the hall.
"What's got you in a hurry?" asked Isa.
"Well given I just learned about MY BROTHER AND MY SISTER-FIGURE TYING THE FREAKIN' KNOT I feel like we have so much to celebrate!" Della said excitedly. "That, my return, reuniting with my family!"
"And what pray tell did you have in mind?" asked Scrooge.
"Who wants cake?!" Della asked excitedly.
The kids cheered.
"To the kitchen!" Della declared as she started running in one direction… and then turned around. "Which is apparently over here now! Did you remodel?"
"Uh… does she know how to cook?" asked Kairi.
In the kitchen, Della marked her apron "Moon's Best Mom" and put it on. She preheated the oven to 350 degrees. Della poured flour into a bowl and got some on her face. Della beated the bowl causing it to overfill. Next, Della used one of her feet to pour the batter into another while reading a cookbook. A timer resembling Scrooge's hat rang. Della got her cake out of the oven, oblivious to the smoke alarms going off and the fire from the oven. She kicked the oven shut with her metal leg, and chuckled while applying candles, then used the oven's fire to light the candles.
"Perfect!" Della grinned as she grabbed the cake and took it away.
Unseen by her, a horrified Beakley stared at the fire as she brought out a fire extinguisher.
At that moment, Myde, who had seen the smoke come from outside the kitchen, walked up to her and held his hand up.
"Don't worry Mrs B, I've got this." he said.
Myde summoned his sitar and aimed at the oven like a rifle, launching a high-pressured stream of water that doused the flames much to Beakley's relief.
"Thank you, Myde. I certainly know who to call if this house is ever set on fire." she said.
"Well, only if the Fire Department are unavailable." Myde joked.
At the dining table, Della placed three cakes on a plate to her kids: One had white and blue icing with a party hat and hearts, the second had a soft appearance, and the last has a tree-like candle and a pirate eyepatch around it.
"Congratulations Birthday Valentine, Merry Flag Day Just Because, Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Arrrr-bor Day!" Della grinned.
Everyone blinked at the cakes as Webby took a picture of the boys with them.
"That's a lot of cake." remarked Terra.
"Are… those really holidays?" asked Pence.
"I don't remember them being on the calendar this year." hummed Goofy, looking at a mini calendar in his pocket.
"Statistically speaking… they aren't." said Violet.
"Uh...Della, isn't this a little...over-the-top?" Donald asked.
"How could I not go over the top?!" Della asked rhetorically. "I missed so many life achievements and holidays! I'm gonna make up for all of them tonight! You guys celebrated so much under this roof and I wasn't there to see it!"
"Um well actually-" Aqua began before Donald shoved an apple into her mouth.
"You see Della-" Goofy began before Donald shoved a fish into his.
"Ok no need for more interruptions try the cake!" Donald said hastily.
Huey and Dewey blew out the candles.
"I didn't know what dessert was your favorite, so I made all of them!" Della said.
"My favorite dessert is all of them! Good instincts, Mom!" Dewey grinned as he began eating the cake.
"Well, I don't normally have night-time sugars, but since this is all the special occasions." said Huey.
Huey picked up a fork and took a bite. Then, his eyes begin to widen as he became overjoyed.
"Someone's gonna have a sugar rush." said Xion.
"Is Huey usually like that with sugar?" asked Riku.
"Not during the day." Donald admitted.
"You made flan?!" Huey asked excitedly.
"Because I'm a 'flan'-tastic mom." Della grinned.
Everyone barring Louie, Lena, and June chuckled.
Dewey laughed. "Oh my gosh, our mom is hilarious!"
Louie poked his cake while Huey continued tapping on the table with his eyes still widened until Della removed the tray. Lena and June couldn't help but look at Louie in concern.
Della then held something behind her back. "Now, it is my honor to present you with a true 'Della-cacy.'" she grinned.
"How does she Dew-ey it?!" Dewey laughed.
"Oh boy, now there's two of them…" Louie groaned.
Della presents them with another cake she made but with fireworks planted on top instead.
"Whoa! What kind of cake is that?!" gasped Sora.
"Behold: my classic firework cake! It's like a regular cake, but it's loaded with fizzy rocks!" Della said proudly.
"Firework cake?" blinked Aqua.
"Fizzy rocks? Those are a thing?" asked Naminé.
"Sounds extra sugary." said Xion.
"I haven't seen these in forever!" Dewey said excitedly.
"That's because after all the lawsuits, the government claimed they were unsafe to eat." Webby said.
"Ok more than sugary." said Xion.
Dewey brought the plate closer to him and picked up two forks to eat with.
"That sounds like a challenge!" Dewey said daringly.
"Uh Dewey, I wouldn't do that if I were you." said May.
"I don't think that extra sugar is sweet." said Minnie.
"That sounds like a challenge!" Deeey grinned as he began to stuff his face. "Mom, look I'm shifting into Turbo!"
"Uh Dewey I think you should stop before-" Donald began.
Dewey continued chewing until his cheeks swelled up and a stream of fizz burst out of his mouth and forced him to the ground. Everyone, even Della, was startled in shock over this.
"-that." Donald winced.
"What the hell?!" exclaimed Riku.
"Oh my!" gasped Minnie.
"Ok now I can see why the government banned them." said Oswald.
"Yeah I mean I've heard of sugar rushes but geez!" winced Hayner.
"Best Mom eve-…" Dewey mumbled happily as fizz poured out of his mouth.
Louie backed away in fear and Huey laughed with joy while trampling and playing with the fizz like snow. Everyone else was wide-eyed as Violet fainted from the shock.
"This is... going so well." Della grinned nervously.
"Um...good job, sis." said Donald, patting Delal's back. "Good job…"
"Uh yes! Very good start…" Daisy said awkwardly.
"It's better than nothing lass." shrugged Scrooge.
Myde suddenly got up, a wide-eyed expression on his face as he walked to the door.
"Where're you going?" asked Sora.
"Back to law school!" a traumatized Myde replied as he walked away. (2)
Everyone blinked and looked back at the scene.
"Well, this is sad to watch." Isa deadpanned.
"Isa! Shh!" Naminé scolded.
"She gets points for trying...at least." Sora said with a weak smile.
Kairi nervously chuckled.
Lea and Hayner whispered to each other.
"Dude, this is getting really awkward." said Hayner.
"Yeah...we probably shouldn't be here right now." Lea said.
Ven overheard them. "I'll get us out of this." Ven said before he cleared his throat. "Oh no! Would you look at that! It's dark already! We should probably get some sleep for tomorrow!"
The world-travelers caught on.
"Yeah it was a very long day in Monstropolis and we'll need a lot of rest." said Aqua.
"And we gotta do more training with the Army of Light tomorrow." said Xion.
"Well I do have those guest bedrooms." said Scrooge. "I hope they suit you lot well."
"I'm sure they will be just fine." smiled Oswald.
"Well, if it's okay with you guys we'll just turn ourselves in." said Sora as he turned to Della. "Nice meeting you Della."
"Huh? Oh yeah nice to meet you too!" Della smiled back.
"Come on lads and lasses, I'll show you to the guest rooms." said Scrooge.
After the cake disaster Della walked into the boy's room holding Dewey in her arm, the middle triplet burping and having vomit attacks, groaning from the incredible pain in his stomach.
"It's gonna be okay!" Della soothed.
"My insides are on fire…with love for my Mom!" Dewey said with a weak smile.
"Uh…" Della said awkwardly, having now just realized she may have gone too far with the cake. Della walked in and se the sick Dewey gently on the bottom bed. She smiled when an idea comes to mind. "Hey! I know what'll make that belly feel better, a bedtime story! Because a good Mom knows how to soothe her sick kid, ever heard the one about the Princess and the Peacock?" she asked.
The other eight kids came into the room.
"Uh…yeah…a long time ago, I think." Louie replied.
"Oh…right…of course, guess it is a…little babyish." Della admitted, disappointed.
Louie realize: how rude that was. "Oh, no! But, um-" He began.
Huey nudged Louie's shoulder. "You're never too old for a fairytale!" he said.
"He's right, some fairytales are classics." said April.
Della shook her head. "No, Rebel- I mean, Louie is right. You're all grown-up now. You're ready for real-life grown up story…" She gets up jerking a thumb to herself. "Starring yours truly!"
"Yeah!" Huey and Louie cheered as Dewey weakly burped and raised his fists with them before the Duck Boys sat together on the bed.
"Ooh! Can we listen to your story too!?" Webby asked.
"Yeah I wanna hear a story about you!" said June.
"Uncle Donald's stories are cool and all but it would be fun to hear from your perspective." said April.
"I'm intrigued to hear the story you're about to give as well." nodded Violet.
"It'll be a good way for us to kill some time before going to bed." Lena shrugged.
"Of course you can!" Della smiled. "You guys are family too! And I'm sure my boys wouldn't mind sitting with their fellow triplets and their three loves!"
Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Lena, and Violet blushed bright red as April, May, and june giggled.
"W-We're not their loves!" Webby said quickly.
"Are you sure?" Della smirked, giggling. "You do seem awfully close!"
"Because we're good friends!" said Huey.
"Yes-urp-very good friends!" said Dewey.
"And nothing more!" Lena added.
"Sure, keep telling yourselves that." May giggled.
The girls sat with them and Della set down a chair, sitting in reverse with a spooky look.
"The place: El Dorado, The time: When I was your age. The legend: The horror known as the Gilded Man." Della picked up Dewey's mecha duck robot toy with a somewhat sinister look as she told the story. "The Aztec android was meant to protect the people, but he blew a fuse and mangled them instead." She makes the toys roar and the kids do their best to smile through the gory story. "Metal gnawed through flesh, leaving a trail of bodies until the gold city was stained blood red." She walks to a desk to grab a marble, setting it inside and shaking it crazily. "I grabbed a wrench, your Uncle Donald grabbed a couple of blasters and together we crawled inside the gold-minted monster, hacked away at his clockwork innards, him apart from the inside piece-by-piece with reckless abandon!" She bangs the toy on the floor. "Wham!" Della jumps off the chair and elbow slams the toy like a wrestler. "He let out a ghastly rusted shriek!" She lets out a ghastly roar that puts Huey, Dewey, April, Lena, and Violet in shock while Louie, May, and Webby try to smile and Donald and Daisy who had been watching facepalmed in annoyance. "…Until, finally, his gory gears turned their last." She's at the door now showing the toy's broken head. "Some say that shriek was a death knell. Others say it was a promise; to rebuild and seek vengeance on the two ducks that defeated him and their family!"
"What a bonehead." Donald groaned to himself.
"Pretty sure we stuffed him in the garage." Della said in a normal voice. "Well, goodnight!"
She happily tossed the head back and the kids reeled back, terrified after such a horrifying story.
"I think I liked it better when Uncle Donald told us that story…" Dewey mumbled.
"Yeah…that was way too terrifying…even for me…" Webby said in agreement.
"Then why are you still smiling Pink?" Lena asked.
"My face sometimes freezes when I freak out. I'm actually pretty horrified." the pink girl duck replied.
"Maybe we should keep the lights on…you know, just in case." Huey suggested.
"Maybe we should sleep together as well." Violet added.
"I actually like that idea." said May, not blinking.
Dewey kicked off the head and it roared, making the kids widen their eyes gasping in terror from thinking it's the Gilded Man.
Della went out into the hall where Donald and Daisy were.
"So, how'd I do? Did I tell a great, appropriate story for my kids or what!?" Della eagerly asked.
The engaged couple smiled nervously. "Uh…it was definitely…you…you're certainly really fired up and getting into your new role as a Mom, aren't you?" Daisy said awkwardly.
"How could I not!? I've missed my boys so much! I missed out on 10 years of their lives! I've got so much to do if I'm gonna make up for lost times." Della said excitedly.
"We know Dell, we know." Donald chuckled. "Just… make sure you know what you're doing."
"Oh I'm sure I will." Della said.
"All the same, it's nice to know that you haven't lost that amazing spirit of yours." Daisy commented.
"One of the things I missed about you baby sis." Donald smiled.
"Hey we're the same age bro!" Della chuckled. "Besides, nothing can stop Della Duck, remember?"
"How could I forget, you kept saying that every single day?" Daisy laughed.
"So much that I wanted to tear my feathers out." Donald joked.
"Ah come on ya big lug," Della joked back, playfully punching Donald in the arm as they all laughed.
The trio then saw Scrooge walking up, showing the world-travelers around.
"I wasn't actually gonna go back to law school, I just wanted an excuse to leave the table after the cake disaster." Myde told them.
"Yeah we figured that." chuckled Terra.
"Did you actually go to law school?" asked Pence.
"Ah it was a class field trip." Myde said, waving it off.
"And this hallway is where the guest bedrooms are common. They can house two to four people at a time, depending on size and the amount of luggage they bring with them." said Scrooge.
"Liking what you're offering." said Roxas.
"So two in each room?" asked Terra.
"Sounds good to me." said Max.
"Still getting luxury comfort." hummed Lea.
"Speaking of which, I haven't slept in a regular bed for over a decade… or took a regular shower." said Della. "I'm gonna shower and get ready for bed."
And Della walked off to the bathroom.
"So which room are you and Daisy gonna sleep in Donald?" asked Kairi.
"Actually I'm gonna sleep on the houseboat." Donald replied.
"The what now?" asked Olette.
Pool:
"This." Donald said proudly.
The group was standing in front of the swimming pool where Donald's house boat floated.
Everyone barring Scrooge and the Disney Castle residents blinked.
"Wait, let me get this straight. You live right near a BILLIONAIRE'S mansion but you sleep in some lame boat that looks like it could fall apart at any moment?!" Myde asked in disbelief.
"Hey, watch it, sitar boy! This boat is my baby! She's made from my blood, sweat, tears and various other fluids!" Donald said proudly.
The humans gagged at such a sentence.
"Ok we did not need to hear that last part." Hayner said.
"Yeah TMI." gagged Xion.
"If you want I can tell you what those other fluids are." Donald offered.
"No thanks! We're good!" Sora said quickly.
"She may not look but this boat is a lot sturdier than it looks." Donald said, gazing at his boat.
"Donald, this is a really nice boat and all, but...why do you sleep in here?" Aqua asked.
"Doesn't Scrooge's mansion have a dozen rooms you could sleep in and have a bigger space?" Riku asked.
"Yeah, it does. But...I guess I just don't feel ready to sleep in the mansion again...considering what happened between me and my uncle 11 years ago...and the fact I stayed away from here for 11 years." Donald admitted.
Everyone looked at him solemnly, especially Scrooge.
"Sorry you felt that way." said Sora.
Scrooge comes up holding his nephew's shoulder.
"Come now, lad, there's no need to torture yourself over all that anymore. You know I no longer hold anything against you over our fallout 11 years ago. It's all in the past now." Scrooge assured.
"I know unc. I just don't feel ready yet." Donald replied.
"But what about now Donald? You made amends with Scrooge, Della's back, do you think you will?" Terra asked.
Donald sighed. "I dunno." he admitted. "I mean, it's all happening so fast to be honest."
Scrooge pats Donald's shoulder with a smile. "Take all the time you need lad. When you're ready, your old room will be waiting for you." said Scrooge.
"Yeah, there's no need to rush Donald." said Mickey.
"Thanks everyone." Donald smiled.
The group was soon back inside and had decided which rooms they would each sleep in:
Sora and Riku
Kairi and Aqua
Terra and Myde
Lea and Isa
Xion and Naminé
Ven and Roxas
Hayner, Pence, and Olette
Mickey and Minnie (with Pluto and Figaro on blankets)
Goofy and Max
Oswald and Ortensia
Daisy would join Donald on the houseboat.
"So what's the plan for tomorrow?" asked Roxas.
"When we get up, we'll have breakfast and then take our gliders to the Secret Forest." said Oswald.
"We'll train the army as usual and be on standby in case Chip and Dale or the Restoration Committee contact us about another world in danger." said Sora.
"And I'll keep tabs with those clearing out the chemical fire residue in the castle so we'll be ready to return to the castle." said Mickey.
"And I'm gonna stay here to spend some quality time with my sister." Donald added. "It's been too long."
"Way too long if you ask me." Daisy chuckled.
"But if there is a world in trouble, I will come to help." said Donald. "Della understands that I have a job to do. Even before the spear."
"Speaking of which… how come you stopped us from talking to her about what happened earlier?" asked Aqua.
"Yeah shouldn't you tell Della about what happened after she left?" Sora asked.
"NO! Absolutely not! I'm not telling Della what happened between me and Uncle Scrooge!" Donald said firmly.
"The lads right!" Scrooge nodded. "Della is not to know anything about me and Donald falling out and him raising the boys alone!"
"All of that is to stay a secret no matter what." Donald said with his arms folded.
Everyone glared at the two ducks, aside from Daisy.
"You have got to be kidding me, right now!" Riku shouted.
"Seriously!? You're both keeping secrets again!?" Sora exclaimed.
"For god's sake you two, why do you have to keep doing this whole secret thing?!" Kairi asked. "It causes more trouble than help! And we should know, these things have nearly torn us all apart in the last decade."
"Master Eraqus sending me to spy on Terra." said Aqua.
"Hiding Roxas and Xion's origins." said Lea.
"Not telling you fellas about Riku's condition and what happened to Aqua." said Mickey.
"Mickey not telling you guys about me sooner so you could come and help save Wasteland." said Oswald.
"Us not being honest to our families about our jobs at Disney Castle," said Goofy.
"Not telling Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy about their memories disappearing when they entered Castle Oblivion." said Naminé.
"And of course, Dewey and Webby not telling Huey and Louie about them investigating Della." said Ven.
"See? That whole secrets thing causes more problems." said Pence.
"And we learned that the hard way." said Riku.
"It's one thing if it's about a surprise party or secret admirer, but this is a whole different scale." Hayner added.
"And the world-order is out of the subject as it's a completely different area being wrecked." added Terra.
"Look you guys I get where you're coming from, but this is different from all of that." Daisy said gently.
Isa frowned as he faced Donald and Scrooge. "You do remember the last time you two kept a secret, both of you almost lost each other and your nephews forever. And it indirectly caused the Shadow War. And Lena died. It's a miracle she was able to be attached to Webby's shadow and then she and Violet brought her back." he said bluntly. "This family is lucky to be on good terms. And you're lucky Donald that the boys still consider you their father."
"We know that Isa." Donald said calmly. "But this is different. Della can't know about what happened while she was gone. She can't know that her stunt with the Spear of Selene caused our family to be torn apart."
"Donald is correct. What do you expect us to tell the poor lass, that her stunt caused me and Donald to hate each other for years? That the boys never knew about their mother? Or that her actions partly contributed to the chain of events that lead to the Shadow War?" Scrooge asked. "Imagine the guilt she'll feel!"
"And she just got home too!" Donald pointed out.
Hearing those words, everyone got where they were coming from.
"Well… when you put it that way…" Goofy hummed.
"She would feel guilt clutching her heart for her actions," said Xion.
"Yeah she was indirectly responsible for you guys separating your family." said Ven.
"The guilt would haunt her." frowned Naminé.
"Not just that, but she'd be a wreck." said Sora.
"Still, if Della were to find out on her own what happened she's gonna get pissed off with both of you." Lea pointed out.
"We're not making the same mistake twice, Lea." assured Donald. "We'll tell Della soon, just not now. Like I said, she just got home and needs to settle in. Once she does that and gets to know her sons then in a month or two we'll tell her everything that happened."
"She might feel guilt but it's better that it doesn't weigh on her at this joyous occasion. We'll tell her once she's good and ready." Scrooge added.
"Until then… can you guys keep quiet?" Donald asked. "We'll tell the kids to do so too."
The world-travelers all traded glances. They didn't like the idea of keeping such a big secret like that. But Donald and Scrooge were right considering Della just came back. Why ruin something good so soon?
"Ok. We won't tell her." said Sora.
"Once she's settled back home for a good while, then you fellas can tell her." said Mickey.
"However," Riku said firmly. "If something happens that affects this family with Della involved and you guys don't speak up… we will."
"We're not saying that to be mean." Kairi said quickly. "We get why you wanna keep this quiet for a while."
"But Della can't be in the dark forever." said Terra. "Being in the dark like that can cause trouble."
"Case in point with what we described earlier, different or not." said Aqua.
"And we care about this family too." Sora went on. "The last thing we want is for it to fall apart again."
"Especially during a time of a second Keyblade War." added Roxas.
"It's better Della finds out sooner than later. She needs to know and understand." said Minnie.
"Just make sure you don't take too long to tell her. Otherwise you really will make the same mistake again. Got it memorized?" asked Lea, tapping the side of his head.
The three ducks nodded.
"We do." nodded Donald. "We will tell her ourselves."
"But if things go south with her, then we will tell her sooner." said Scrooge.
"That's tough love for you." Daisy nodded.
At that moment, they heard the shower turn off and heard Della humming.
"With that said, we're gonna get ready for bed." said Sora. "We'll see you guys in the morning."
"And I won't blame you if you sleep in." Scrooge said. "The beds are pretty comfy. I spared no expense when I bought them."
"Then why don't you do the same nowadays you trillionaire?" Daisy asked.
"I'll give you three names." Scrooge deadpanned.
"Bradford, Bentley, and Buford Buzzard?" Sora asked.
"Here's a smart one!" Scrooge chuckled, flinging Sora a dollar coin.
Sora shrugged and pocketed it.
"Now then lads, let's get some shut-eye." said Scrooge. "Our family has a big day of reuniting tomorrow. And you lot have training."
"We will." said Kairi.
With that, they all went into the guest rooms.
Donald, Daisy, and Della stayed out in the hall.
"I'm really glad I'm back." Della said happily. "I can't wait to spend quality time with my kids."
"Hey what are we? Chopped liver?" Donald joked.
"Of course not you big lug!" Della laughed. "I'm excited to spend time with all of you! I just know tomorrow is gonna be a great day!"
"We think it will be." smiled Daisy. "And we know you're gonna do a good job being a mom."
"Thanks for the support you guys." Della smiled. "I mean sure I may have accidentally made Dewey sick with one of my cooking but don't worry…I've completely eased that by telling him and all the kids an appropriate grown-up story. I'm sure the six of them are in their rooms sleeping and feeling completely soothed."
"Uh…" Donald and Daisy stammered.
In the triplet's bedroom where the lights are off as the nine are sat on the bed, their eyes widened as they quiver in terror, unable to sleep and have armed themselves. Dewey holds a dart gun, Louie a baseball bat, Huey a flashlight and Swiss army knife, Webby her grappling hook, Lena two dart guns, Violet a sword, April a set of nunchucks, May a tennis racket, and June a wooden 2 by 4 plank. The 9 of them whimper in terror throughout the whole night.
That night, Della was getting ready for bed when Donald peeked his head in.
"How are you settling back in sis?" he asked.
"I'm settling back in great!" Della smiled. "Man I am so glad to have a regular bed again, a roof over my head, and natural lighting!"
Donald chuckled. "I can imagine."
There was a slight pause and Della smiles at her brother.
"You wanna come in?" Della asked "We haven't talked in years. Good chance for us to catch up."
"Yeah. I'd like that." Donald smile, walking in.
The Duck Twins sat together on the bed, smiling together.
"So…the Moon, huh?" Said Donald, starting off their catch-up.
Della chuckles. "Yup. The Moon."
"What was it like up there?" Asked Donald.
"Oh, just you know, average barren wasteland, only lunar and silver." Della answered. "I fought more than just Heartless up there you know, I had to fight a giant moon mite who kept ruining my attempts to get back home…until I found out she was actually a mother who was just trying to find food for her kid. Long story. Upside though, I met some really friendly moon people who lived in a city made out of gold on the dark side of the moon."
"Aliens live on the Moon? And there's a civilisation there?" Donald said, surprised at first but then double takes. "You know what, I'm actually not surprised."
"Yeah." Della agreed. "Considering everything we've been through, aliens on the moon is no surprise." The Duck Twins chuckle a little.
"That is so true." Della agreed. "You know, I even became best friends with one of the aliens. You'd really like her, Don, she reminds me so much of you."
"Really?" Donald asks with a raised eyebrow. "How so?"
"Well, for starters, she has a heck of a temper. I mean, she doesn't go red like you, but still…" Donald chuckles a little. "That big temper of hers is part of the passion and love she holds for her people. She'd do anything to protect them…" She looks to Donald with a smile. "Just as you'd do anything to protect us, Don, especially me and Daisy."
Donald smiles, touched by that. "She sounds like someone I'd get along with you. You should introduce me to her sometime."
"If I ever see her again, you can count on it." Della said with a smile
"So, you made friends out of aliens, huh?" Donald gives a friendly punch. "Classic Della, making friends out of pretty much anyone."
Della returns with a light punch, chuckling. "What can I say, I'm just too irresistible."
"Irresistibly annoying you mean." Donald added with a grin.
"Oh, shut up." Della said.
The Duck Twins share a laugh together.
"You know, I've gone on my own fair share of space adventures and made some friends out of aliens too." Said Donald, intriguing his sister.
"Ooh. Do tell. Was it in another world?" Della asks, excited.
"Yup." Donald answered with a smile. "Me and my friends adventured in a world of worlds a couple times, it's a long story. But part of it involved us adventuring in outer space and visiting different planets. I really hated it to be honest."
"Really? Why?" Della asked, surprised.
"Because I lost my sister to outer space." Donald answered with a sad look.
Della became guilty upon hearing that. "Oh. Right."
Her brother smiled again. "But it wasn't so bad. It was pretty fun, even though we almost died a couple times. I became personal pals with a talking raccoon, well, technically an alien that looks like a raccoon. He'd probably try to steal your robot leg in your sleep."
"Yeesh." Della cringed. "Really?"
"Yup." Donald answered. "But don't worry, he's a nice guy overall. Adventuring with Sora and Goofy, I've made a lot of friends. And at the same time, I've fought to stop people like Xehanort from destroying all those worlds with their darkness. And at the same time, I was parenting the boys and going on adventures with them and Scrooge if I ever felt they needed me. All the adventures I've gone on ever since you were gone…it all feels I've been part of one big adventure."
"Wow…" Della said, amazed by the summary of her brother's life for the past 10 years. "You've fought so hard, Donald. It's hard to believe while I've been stuck on a space rock you've been going around a bunch of worlds, protecting us from a bald maniac. And not only are you the most powerful mage in the world but you're a keyblade wielder now. It's hard comparing you to how used to be with adventure before our first time at Ithaquack."
"I'm still the same in a way." Donald responded, smiling. "I'm just a little tougher."
"WAY tougher." Della added. "But…you know…I've been stuck in one big adventure too. I know I wanted to give my kids the stars, but running into a cosmic storm and getting lost on the moon was not what I had in mind."
Donald chuckles with her. "I'll bet. I hate to say I told you so, Della, but I told you so."
"Yeah. You weren't kidding when you said something bad could happen if I attempted to go through with my space adventure plan. I wish I listened." Said Della.
Donald widens his eyes when he sees tears welling up in Della's eyes.
"Della? Is something wrong?" Donald asked, concerned.
"Don, I know before I took off, I said some really awful things to you." Donald saddens, remembering their last argument. Della wells up with more tears as she faces her brother. "And I'm so sorry for saying all that. I never meant any of it, really, I didn't. I wasn't thinking straight in our argument. You were right, I was scared. I was scared of the responsibilities that would change my life forever. I was scared of the changes that would come with parenthood and I didn't want to accept it. But that was my issue and I never should've taken that out on you. I'm sorry, I really am.
"Della…" Donald quietly said.
Della kept crying. "I never meant to leave you. You gotta believe, when I was on the moon, I fought every day to come home. All I could ever think about was you guys, especially you, Don." Della takes her brother's hands. "I wanted to come back to you, Donnie. I felt half empty without you, I kept trying and trying my hardest to get back but all my plans kept getting messed up. I didn't know what to do. But I can promise all I ever wanted when I was on the moon was to meet my boys and see you again." Donald is touched by all of Della's words. "It took being alone for 10 years to make me realize how much you mean to me and what I threw away. And I'm sorry, for that Donald, I really am. I-"
Donald stops Della from talking by placing his hand on her face with a gentle smile.
"Della, there's no need to apologize. I've already forgiven you." Donald said, causing Della to smile gratefully. "And besides, I said some pretty nasty things before you left too. And I'm sorry about that too."
"You don't need to apologize either, bro." Della said, shaking her head. "You were right about what you said. I was just too stupid to accept it."
"Maybe. But if I had worded it a little differently, I could've saved you." Donald smiles again. "But despite all that, I could never stay mad at you Della. Deep down, I always knew you were alive. And I know you did everything you could to get back home. I never stopped caring or waiting for you sis."
Donald brings out his Wayfinder, causing Della to become touched as she brought out her own.
"You know, I was sorta afraid you'd throw that away after I left." Della admitted.
"No way." Donald responded. "I would never throw this away. Keeping this with me always reminded me how much I loved you and it kept me hoping I'd see you again one day."
"Aww. Donnie. Me too." Della said, with a touched smile. "Keeping my charm with me...and wearing this scarf kept reminding me how much I love you too Don. It all helped kept me going on the moon, even when I was at my lowest."
"Same here."
"And Donald. Thank you so much for taking care of my boys." Said Della "I know I've only been back for a couple hours, but you've really raised them well. I could already tell my boys see you as their father. I know raising them was supposed to be my job, but I knew I could count on you to take care of them while I was gone. I'm just sorry I left that responsibility to you when it was supposed to be mine.
"Hey, don't mention it Del." Donald replied. "I was glad to take care of the boys. Being with them always made me feel like a part of you was still here. And it's okay to be scared of parenting. It was scary for me too. If you want, I can teach you everything I've learned about being a parent and how to take care of the kids."
"I'd really appreciate that. Thanks, Donald." Tears began to well up in Donald's eyes. Della was concerned. "Donnie? Bro, are you ok?"
"I… I just can't believe this is actually happening…" Donald said, looking at his twin. "You're here… alive… after over a decade… I never thought… (sniffs) I'd ever get to see my baby sister again… I mean you're actually here! Standing right in front of me!"
He sprung up and hugged Della. "I'm just so happy…!" he said, hugging her tightly, afraid she was gonna disappear again.
Della began to cry again herself as she tearfully embraced her brother. "Oh, Don, I'm so happy too!" she sobbed. "I always dreamed this day would happen… I would come home to you guys… my brother, my sons, my family! I've missed you so much Donald."
"I missed you too." Donald cried.
Della pulled back and wiped her tears. "I'm never leaving you guys again. I promise." she said. "I'm gonna make up for all the time we lost. And I am gonna enjoy life to the fullest… just for you guys."
"Aw sis." Donald smiled, planting a kiss on his sister's forehead, making her giggle.
Della yawned. "I think I need to catch some z's…" she said groggily.
Donald chuckled. "Same here." He got up, but not before Della hugged him one more time. He smiled warmly. "Goodnight Della. I'm glad you're home…"
"Goodnight Don. I'm glad to be home." Della smiled, planting a kiss on Donald's cheek.
With that, Della went under the covers and fell asleep, happy to be back home… and having a real bed again. Donald smiled as he left the room and carefully closed the door.
The next morning, the McDuck family was getting ready to say goodbye to the world-travelers. Donald was in his black sailor outfit and white hat. Daisy wore a long sleeveless pink dress, black high-heeled shoes with bows on them, and ankle bands.
"We hope you lot have a good time." said Beakley.
"We always do 22." chuckled Mickey.
"Yeah training the army is pretty fun when you get down to it." hummed Myde.
"And day by day they get stronger." said Kairi. "Even the newer members start to get better and better as well."
"And Donald, Daisy, we hope you have a good time with your family." said Minnie.
"You bet we will!" said Donald.
"We'll call you when the chemical substance is cleared from the castle." said Oswald.
"Or when another world is in danger." said Ortensia.
"And Daisy and I will be ready to do so should you need our help." said Donald.
"Say where's Della?" asked Goofy.
"Oh she's freshening up, getting ready to bond with the kids." said Scrooge.
"I'll see you guys soon!" said Donald.
"See you then." said Minnie.
"Take care." smiled Sora.
With that, the 21 Keyblade wielders summoned their gliders and armor. They all climbed on, Pluto on Mickey's and igaro on Minnie's as well, and took to the skies.
"So Donald, you ready to relax and spend some time with Della?" asked Daisy.
"Please you can never relax in this house." Donald joked. "But yeah I'm ready. And I know Della is." He frowned. "I hope the kids are…"
"Ah I'm sure they're fine lad." said Scrooge.
They weren't.
In the triplet's room, the girls were sleeping on the bed while the boys were still up, albeit very groggy and barely able to keep their eyes open due to not getting any sleep after listening to Della's horrifying story.
Suddenly an airhorn was blown, letting out an insanely loud noise that jolts the boys awake and they comically dropped down.
"Good morning my sleep sunshines!" Della beamed.
The Duck Boys saw Della standing in the door, completely freshened up. She was wearing a new pilot outfit, replacing her torn one consisting of a brown flight jacket, tan shorts, a brown flight helmet, black goggles, and the scarf Donald gifted her. Her hair had been cut down closer to its original style but slightly longer than shoulder length and her bandages and fingerless glove were gone. She noticed the girls sleeping together.
"Aww! The girls are so cute when they sleep together." she gushed. "Guess it's just the four of us." she said, leaving the room.
In the foyer, Della blew the airhorn again as her sons followed her to the armor display in front of the window. The boys were still barely able to keep their eyes open with bags underneath, Dewey clutched his stomach and Huey his ears (after temporarily losing his hearing).
"Can you believe Scrooge didn't want me to have these?" Della chuckled.
"What!?" Huey shouted over the ringing in his head.
"I know, right?" Della said, not getting why Huey shouted. She climbed up and reaches inside a suit of armor. "Thankfully I hid a whole case in my old secret stash, customized them just for you!" She took out her "Mom's return celebration Horn." "Heads up!"
She tosses three; Dewey caught the first but the other two bumped into Louie, much to his annoyance.
"First order of business, shredding the gnar, because a good Mom knows how to spice up the ordinary." Della said.
She took and held up a shield from the suit of armor. Dewey happily blew the airhorn in Huey's ear, surprising him and annoying Louie as Della stepped up.
"Observe!"
Della expertly spun the shield before riding down the stair railings like a skateboard, doing an epic trick in the process before riding on the rug, much to the amazement of her sons.
"ASIDE FROM UNCLE DONALD, SHE IS THE BEST PERSON ALIVE!" Dewey said excitedly.
Della walked up with the shield. "So who wants to go first?" she asked.
While Huey tried fixing his ear, Dewey jumps up and down excitedly, wanting to go first but his gurgling stomach disagrees and he's close to regurgitating. Della comforted him.
"Maybe, sit this round out Turbo. Jet? Uh, I mean, Huey, sorry. I'll get it." she said before whispering to herself. "Huey has a hat and the hue is red."
After putting on safety gear, to hear himself better Huey spoke loudly. "Junior Woodchuck Rule 84…!"
"Safety doesn't happen by accident." Della finished, grinning.
After ensuring the helmet was secure and giving the shield, a couple seconds later Della was helping Huey keep his balance on the banister.
"So, the first jump is at a 20 degrees angle, then you kickflip and-" Della said.
From his view because of the ringing in his ears, Della's speech is was garbled and he couldn't hear her instructions. Dewey gave double thumbs up and Louie gave a disinterested wave.
"…If you do that last part exactly right you won't die." Della finished. "Ready?"
"Uh huh…" Huey said nervously.
Louie went midway down the stairs with his phone out.
"Oh, this oughta be rich." he hummed.
Huey slid down the railing, attempting to perform Della's stunt only to go off course and head straight for Louie who ran for it in panic.
"Ah! Don't make me run!" he heller.
Huey and Louie rode on the shield and Huey cheered until they hit a lump on the carpet so hard they glew off and the shield ricochets up and off the chandelier, a bowl of apples, gems and a blank portrait, then it nearly hits Beakley in the living room who caught it without looking, grunting with a suspicious and annoyed stare.
Huey rode on Louie's shoulder, all dizzy. "I flew too close to the sun!" he said.
Louie gets him off as Della and Dewey came to them, the former rubbing Huey's helmet proudly.
"You did great! And I'm sure you'll scream way less next time!" Della beamed.
"Whose! Is! This!?" Beakley demanded, coming into the room with the shield.
Embarrassed, Della rubbed her right arm sheepishly. "Oh, uh…well…that's my…" she began.
"Son's shield!" Dewey quickly saiid, standing beside her.
"Sons' shield!" Huey quickly empathized. "Plural possessive because it's all of ours! We three share the blame!"
They then look to Louie. Huey nudged their reluctant youngest brother's arm to speak out as well in their mother's defense.
"Triplets, am I right?" Louie quipped.
The chandelier dropped hard to the ground, jump-startling the four of them. Huey jumped into Louie's arms, only to be thrown off again. Beakely sighed in annoyance.
"A decade has gone by and you haven't changed one bit, have you Della?" Beakley muttered.
Della looked. down ashamed. "Sorry." Beakely moved to pick the broken chandelier up. "Here, Mrs B, let us help you."
"I'll go get the broom." He almost vomited again. "…And the bucket."
Dewey walked off and Della struggled to lift the chandelier. She grunted as she tries lifting it with all her might only to reel back in surprise when the housekeeper lifted it onto her right shoulder effortlessly.
"Boys, to your room." she said to them before looking at Della. "I appreciate your offer, Della, but I'll handle this. After all, I'm used to cleaning up after children, dear."
Beakely walked off and Della saddened, knowing she's referring to the times Donald and her messed up the mansion when they were kids. Della walked in the other direction holding her arm, ashamed and embarrassed over almost killing her sons.
Della wandered onto the houseboat and went inside. She saw the pictures of Donald and the boys through the years. She smiled a little.
"Oh, Donnie. You've been doing so much for my boys, raising them in my place and being the parent I wasn't able to be for them. Thank you, big brother. You did a great job, Donald. I can't wait to do so many adventures with you guys. Me, you, and the boys, and Scrooge, Daisy and-"
She spotted a picture of Launchpad happily thumbing up with the crashed Sunchaser in the background and Donald running around on fire, making her unhappy.
"Who is this!?" she demanded.
"Hey!"
She turned to see Launchpad waving and walking to her. "Thought I'd come over and introduce myself. I'm Launchpad, and I'm a pilot." he said politely.
But Della was furious, naively believing to have been replaced. "Uh, uh! No way, buddy!" she snarled as she grabbed and pulled his jacket, dangerously eyeing him. "I know I was gone for a while but I will not be replaced! Where's Scrooge!?"
She threw him off and storms out of the boat. "Nothing can stop Della Duck!" she yelled.
Launchpad went from nervous to happy. "Nice to meet you!" he called.
Della happily poked her head back. "Nice to meet you too, by the way!" she said before storming off.
Della angrily stomped through the corridor looking for Scrooge, calming down when she heard Beakely's voice coming from the dining room. She looks through the small opening without being seen to see Scrooge, Donald, Daisy, Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, April, May, June, and Beakely gathered around the table having a really serious conversation.
"I'm sorry Donald, but… I think Della is struggling to adjust to this new life." Beakley said.
"Oh, shut up Mrs B." Donald scoffed.
"Come now Beakley, she's only just arrived." Scrooge added.
"And yet she's already done damage to this household and the family, burning the oven, giving Dewey a stomach-ache, making Huey deaf and in general, scaring her children." Beakley countered. "Just recently she had Huey try to perform an incredibly dangerous stunt and almost got him and Louie killed."
"Are you seriously criticizing my sister this soon after she just got home?" Donald demanded.
"I'm not saying this to be cruel, Donald. I'm just expressing my concern for Della." Beakley replied. "She doesn't seem to be adapting well to life on Earth."
"Della's been living on the Moon for over 10 years and she's only been back home for less than 10 hours, of course she's struggling to settle in." Donald countered.
"He's right. Don't be so hard on her, Bentina." said Daisy. "Being a parent isn't an easy job and don't forget, Della has spent over a decade struggling and fighting on another rock. At this point, all her mind knows right now is adventure. It's only natural that it's hard for her to struggle readjusting to life on Earth."
"Yeah, we just need to give her our support and help her adjust. It certainly wasn't easy for me to raise the boys." said Donald. "I made hundreds of mistakes in the years I spent raising them, but I managed to pull through."
"Same with me and the girls, but hey it all worked out for us.:" added Daisy.
"Even if you add all those mistakes together you still did a great job with us Uncle Donald. Despite how hard we made it for you, you became more than just our uncle. You became our dad, and we became your sons." Dewey added before suppressing the urge to vomit again.
"Aww!" Donald smiled, touched.
"And I recall being told after he lost his wife Goofy had to raise Max on his own for 15 years…with some help every now and then." said Violet.
"Yeah. And even though the guy is a total goof he became an awesome dad and he and Max became best friends." added Lena.
"Correct. I'd say Mrs Della is in a similar situation." Violet continued.
"Right. I mean sure she made Dewey sick, temporarily cost Huey his hearing and has terrified the nine of you with a story told in an inappropriate way for children but she can learn from those mistakes to be a better parent." said Daisy.
"And let's not forget you Aunt Daisy. You worked so hard to take care of us." said April.
"And we don't make it easy…" added May.
"Often on purpose." shrugged June.
"You made a bunch of mistakes yourself but despite that you kept doing your best for us." April went on.
"You became more than just our aunt." June said.
"You became our mom, and we became your daughters." May beamed.
"Aww! Girls!" Daisy gushed, placing her hands on her heart.
"And I'm sure you raising me and Della wasn't a cakewalk for you, Uncle Scrooge." said Donald.
"Of course, it wasn't. I barely knew you both and you twins kept wrecking the manor so many times I often wondered how my sister and brother-in-law handled you." Scrooge chuckled. "But eventually I got to know you and the two of you became my own kin whom I cherished. I made mistakes myself along that road…"
"Like building a super rocket that cost you your niece." said June.
"Yes, that." Scrooge replied, annoyed with the reminder.
"And Granny, don't you remember how you used to make mistakes when you raised me?" Webby asked.
"You do raise a good point there." Beakley nodded.
"Della's a cool person; she's just a little…over the top. She just needs time to get to know her sons." said Lena.
"Exactly. Every parent makes mistakes when they start out. It's not that Della is doing a bad job of being Mom…she's just…overdoing things a little and rushing in trying to make up for lost time." said Daisy.
"Daisy's right. I'm sure we can convince Della to slow down and help her figure out being a good Mom as time goes by." Donald added.
"I suppose you all raise good points." Beakley nodded before showing concern again. "But what if along the way she does something that will cause physical damage to these three and possibly emotionally scar them for life?"
"That's why we need to support her. And if she does make a mistake like that, I'll set her straight." said Donald.
"Okay, so she's not the best with cooking, or age-appropriate stories or child endangerment but nobody's perfect." said Dewey.
"She's trying and that's what matters! Junior Woodchuck Rule 3: 'No matter how hard things get, never give up on a fellow Woodchuck!'" Huey shouted, making everyone wince. "Sorry I still can't hear that great. Also, she's OUR MOM!"
Della smiled, to see her two sons standing up for her despite her recent actions that hurt them and Donald, Daisy, Scrooge, Webby, Lena, Violet, April, May and June voicing their support.
"Right, Louie?" Huey asked.
"Right?" Dewey ventured as they both looked at their brother.
"Well…" Louie trailed off, reeling back and crossing his arms, unwilling to say anything.
Della, Dewey, Huey, Webby, Lena, Violet, April, May and June all gasped in shock to see Louie had different thoughts and was unwilling to defend his own mother.
"Louie…don't tell us that you're not happy to finally meet your mom!" Lena said in disbelief.
Louie immediately tries to ease that. "Hey, don't get me wrong! Of course, I'm happy to have Mom back…!" he said before trailing off again.
"But…" Huey ventured.
"But I don't know…it's probably my fault." Louie sighed. "I've gone so long without a mom, I guess I just don't know how to have one, I…look, don't tell her I said this but…having a mom suddenly come into my life after not having one for years…it sorta terrifies me.
Della gasped at what she just heard, tearfully hurt.
"Louie! How could you say that!?" April cried.
"Whoa! Whoa! It's not that I hate her!" Louie quickly said. "I mean…she's nice and all and I appreciate that she's trying to make the effort to make up for lost time but…she doesn't understand that all I know how to have is a dad and that dad is you Uncle Donald."
Donald became very worried for his youngest nephew.
"Then all of sudden the Mom I thought we lost suddenly comes back trying make up for lost time…and in the middle of a crazy Keyblade War no less." Louie went on. "I know it sounds harsh…but I just don't know how to deal with it. I don't know how to have a mom or how to truly love her. I want to, I really do but I…I…"
Everyone gave Louie looks of sympathy. It was clear Louie was having a hard time processing all of this in comparison to his older brothers, who lept at the chance to have a mom again. He was confused and conflicted due to everything happening so fast. It was clear he was emotionally vulnerable right now."
"Louie…" Donald said softly.
"That's because she's not a mom!" Scrooge said firmly.
Having heard this painful statement, Della becomes even more shocked, heartbroken, and depressed than ever. Donald and Daisy are the only ones who see her and gasp silently as Della ran away crying and putting her left arm against her tearful eyes. No one paid attention to Donald and Daisy taking their leave.
"Not yet anyway. She's been gone for so long." Scrooge clarified. "You've got to give her time to figure out who she is and how she fits into this family." he said to Louie.
"Look, Lou, we get where you're coming from. Having a mom appear out of the blue like this is a little scary, but…give the lady a chance, man." said June.
"Yeah, June's right, I'm sure after a while you'll get used to having a mom, Lou. And if it helps, we'll help you find a way to deal with this little dilemma, together. Okay?" Lena offered.
"I… I guess so…" Louie replied.
Meanwhile, a depressed Della entered the garage with her hands in her pockets.
"Hey."
Della turns to see Donald and Daisy standing at the door with a look of sympathy. It had been Daisy who spoke.
"Hey." Della lamely greeted back.
"You heard all of that, didn't you?" Daisy asked knowingly.
"Only all of it." Della said, forcing a sad smile." Thanks for sticking up for me."
"Sure, don't mention it. We know you're trying your best Della." Daisy said.
"But how are you feeling sis?" Donald asked, concerned.
Della looked down, disheartened. "Well it's obvious my best is just making things worse between me and my sons." she sighed. "I mean…Huey and Dewey accept me, but…Louie…he really hates me."
"It's nothing like that Della. Louie doesn't hate you at all." Daisy soothed.
"It's just that having a Mom is a new concept for him." said Donald. "I was the only parent to him as he grew up, that a new one appearing out of nowhere is overwhelming for him."
"But Louie knows you're trying your best, Della, we all do and we really admire that." Daisy said softly. "It's just that you're going about creating a relationship with your sons the wrong way by trying too hard and going over the top. You've only been here for less than a day, after all."
Della looked almost tearfully desperate. "You don't understand, guys!" she cried. "I want to make it up to my boys…I want to make up for 10 years of lost time. I never got to see the biggest moments in their lives, their first steps, birthdays, first words and heck, I came back to find out that my little boys are already growing up. They made six best friends and it's clear they have the hots for Webby, Lena, and Violet. I want to get to know all of them and I want to prove myself as their mother but…" Della sighed in exasperation and looked down. "I'm already messing up. Rebel- I mean, Louie is scared of me and after the things I did yesterday I can't blame him. Uncle Scrooge was right; I'm not a Mom at all."
"But Della…Uncle Scrooge never meant it like that. He-" Donald began.
"What does it matter? He's right!" Della interrupted. She dejectedly walked through the garage with her hands in her pocket and her brother and his future wife following. "I was gone for a decade and everyone was fine."
Donald and Daisy cringed a little; Della didn't know that her family was not fine at all after she disappeared.
"Donald, are you sure we shouldn't tell her the truth?" Daisy whispered in concern.
"The truth about what? How her actions tore apart the family? That me and Scrooge never spoke to each other for 10 years? That I raised the boys alone?" Donald whispered loudly and Daisy saddened. "Daisy, we can't tell her yet. Look at her, she's been here for 10 hours and already she's struggling getting used to life on Earth. If we tell her what happened now all the guilt will cause her to fall apart. She's not ready to handle it all yet."
The pilot looked at her reflection in the deactivated Gilded Man she and her brother defeated years ago, ashamed, humiliated, sad, heartbroken and embarrassed.
"I'm home for ten hours and now my kids are all sick, injured, and terrified." she muttered. "I miss fighting monsters. You guys make it easy to know what to do…" She leaned against the android angrily crossing her arms. "I fought you, Gilded Man and Moon Mites and the abyss of space and every last odd to get back to my kids and…" She depressingly sighed again. "I'm blowing it…"
"Della…" Daisy soothed as she and Donald, in an act of kind sympathy, each put a hand on Della's shoulder.
"How…how did you do it bro!? You and Scrooge raised the boys so well together! How was raising them so easy for you when you're - no offense - not even their birth father!? And how was my uncle able to do it too!?"
Donald and Daisy traded nervous glances.
"It wasn't easy for me at all, Della." said Donald. "Believe me I struggled for years looking after the boys. It was not easy. Job after job, trying to keep the houseboat floating, it was never easy little sis. And well… (gulps) You see, about Scrooge-"
"You know what, never mind. What's point in knowing?" Della sighed, waving a hand dismissively. "I'll never be what you are to them, Don. I'm not you."
"But you don't have to be me Dell." Donald said, putting his hands on her shoulders. "You just have to be yourself. You just need to be Della Duck."
"I was being me last night! And look at psychological damage I've done to my kids, even the girls!" Della retorted. "Maybe I can't be you but at the same time I'm not sure if I should try to be me. I…" She sighed sadly releasing tears. "I feel like I don't know who I am anymore. Everyone has changed so much, a decade has gone and I'm still the same brainless, reckless, hot-headed kid I always was… and I doubt the boys would want that kind person as their mother but…I can't change that about myself. I don't know what to do guys."
Donald and Daisy were close to tears.
"Oh, Della…" mumbled Daisy.
Donald tried to wipe his tears. "Della please don't doubt yourself." he pleaded. "Maybe you don't have to change yourself… but you can still be a good mom to them!"
"What if that isn't enough Donald?!" Della demanded. "I mean look at you! You raised my boys! You fight bad guys across worlds! You're a mage! Sure I'm an awesome adventurer and pilot, but I was reckless and ended up stranded on a damn orb miles away, basically leaving you to do the rasing and I was never here! None of that matters when trying to be a good mother to the boys, especially Louie! I mean, who do I have to fight to be a part of this family?!"
In a fit of rage Della kicked the Gilded Man, a mistake she regretted as the jolt of metal suddenly reactivated the metal monsters. Its eyes glowed blood red and the trio reeled back in fear and surprise as it began to move, twisting its arms and feet and setting them down on the ground before releasing a ghastly shriek, particularly at Donald and Della. The three became became frightened and terrified, the Gilded Man is back and it's out to get revenge on the two ducks that destroyed him, one of them not being around.
"Aww, phooey…" the three mumbled.
They began to step back in fear as the android looked at them intensely.
"The Gilded Man!" Della cried.
"Oh this is bad, this is bad, this is very, very bad!" Donald quacked.
"Uh…Della…didn't you and Donald shut this thing down!" Daisy nervously cried.
"We did! We tore apart from inside-out!" Della replied.
"Aw dammit it must've finally repaired itself!" Donald cried.
"And your metal kick was all it took to re-activate it!" Daisy added. "Great…it can't get any worse than this…"
The Gilded Man swung it giant hand and smacked Daisy, sending her screaming in pain and smashing into the skeleton of a dinosaur which collapsed on her.
"Daisy, no!" Donald and Della cried before Donald growled in anger.
"You big metal palooka I'll show you-!" Donald was cut off when the Gilded Man punched him into a stack of newspapers.
"DONALD!" Della cried.
Then Gilded Man threw a giant punch forward that smashed Della. She screamed in anguish, crashing into a large wooden crate, lying on its remains grimacing.
"Ow…haven't felt something like that since I fought that giant Heartless…" Della grimaced.
She screamed in horror when it attempted to crush and she jumped back out of the way, hitting the ground. The Gilded Man began crawling to her, intent on seeking its revenge while Della kept stepping back until she reached a wall.
"Hey, listen, so…I know you're all about seeking revenge on the entire family and the two people that destroyed you but…any chance you'd seek a truce instead?" she sheepishly asked.
It crushed a crate before grabbing a coat pole and tossing it. Della ducked before it hit the wall before cracking her knuckles with her game face on.
"Fine! You want a fight! You got one!" she snarled.
"Save some pummeling for me sis!" Donald yelled, summoning Mage's Staff and Unbound as his black sailor suit turned into his world-traveling attire.
"Oh you know it big bro!" Della grinned.
She charged, grabbing an umbrella, ducking a punch and then flipping up, and landing behind its leg. Donald used a Blackout spell to confuse it. With a shout Della jammed the umbrella in its joints, temporarily immobilized.
Daisy got up. "Oh good! I think you got it!" she said as she got to her feet.
Della happily raised her fists with a laugh victory. "HA HA! Ooh! This is it! I'm good at this! I'll beat you, save the family and prove my worth!" she cheered.
"Della this is no time for proving yourself! The Gilded Man is alive!" Donald yelled.
"Relax Donnie we got this covered now!" Della grinned. "NOTHING CAN STOP DELLA DUCK!
"WHAT IN DISMAL DOWNS IS GOING ON IN HERE!?"
Scrooge's angry voice caused the trio to comically freeze in shock, turning to see the billionaire by the door. Scrooge deadpanned to see the ducks and the Gilded Man removing the umbrella, telling him all he needed to know.
"I really need to start locking this door…" he lampshaded.
The android removed and crushed the umbrella.
"Don't worry Uncle Scrooge!" Della shouted. "I've got everything under contr- AAH!"
She rolled, barely avoiding a smack. Narrowly avoiding getting crushed multiple times, rushing and rummaging through a chest, hoping to find weapons but is instead met with useless junk.
"Della come on!" Donald shouted as he casted Blizzaga at the Gilded Man.
"What's with all the old junk!?" Della shouted. "Where's the Deus Excalibur, or the Fairyman's Flame, or-"
"We kind of…sort of used a lot of that stuff already." Scrooge sheepishly replied.
Della threw up her hands with a groan before continuing searching for weapons. The Gilded Man crawled towards her before turning its head to see Donald jump at him with his weapons.
"Take this!" Donald shouted as he used Double Thundaga Shot against the robot.
Daisy summoned Spellbinder and her dress turned into her world-travelling attire and tried to cast Dark Firaga on it, managing to strike it in the shoulder.
The Gilded Man roared and smacked them away into the wall, prompting Scrooge to run to him, pointing his cane.
"Come on, you golden gear gargantuan!" he shouted.
He yelped when his cane got snatched, snapped and crushed. It proceeded to whack the old man with a boat only for Della to tip a pickaxe, pushing a ball that fires a crossbow, the arrow bouncing off and slicing a rope of Pterodactyl skeleton that slams into the jeep and it beeped uncontrollably. All of a sudden the Gilded Man was covering its ears in pain, allowing Scrooge to grab Della and they hid behind the giant shield. Donald and Daisy recovered and dove for behind the shield to join them. Della checked to see the robot still in pain before immediately looking at Scrooge.
"Okay, here's the plan, I'll stall him, you go get the kids so they can see me save them from this monster and prove I'm a good Mom." Della said, determined.
"Della, forget that, we need to take this thing down… again!" shouted Donald.
Scrooge turned off the car. "What idiot said you weren't a good Mom?" he asked.
Della pointed at Scrooge. "You! Like 5 minutes ago!" she replied, annoyed.
"Lass, you've only been here for a day, you cannae enforce a relationship with your kids just through monster fighting!" he told her.
"You're right! We should probably go treasure hunting too!" Della thought over.
"That's not what he meant!" Daisy said in irritation.
At that moment the Gilded Man lifted their hiding spot and proceeds to try and crush them until Daisy blasted it with a Watera spell.
"Hey! Stay away from my family mechanical maniac or I'm gonna-"
She yelps when her Keyblade was smacked out of her hand, sticking to the wall. It tried crushing her but she made a run for it.
"Run!" she yelled.
The four ducks ran, Scrooge lifting the door and the four of them escaped. The Gilded Man smashed the door and started crawling out, powering up its core and becoming larger.
A deep rumbling sounded out in the mansion. Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Lena, Violet, April, May, June, and Beakley ran to see the Gilded Man out the window. Dewey almost vomited again, still feeling sick from yesterday.
Near the backyard the Gilded Man chased after Donald, Della, Scrooge and Daisy like a zombie while the rest arrived to watch what's happening.
"What is that thing!?" cried June.
"It's the Gilded Man!" Lena shrieked.
"AAH! Our nightmares are real!" Huey cried.
The quartet of ducks ran through the garden past a sword stuck to a stone pedestal. The Gilded Man grabbed the hand and Scrooge, Doanld, Della and Daisy stopped to brace themselves for the inevitable only for the robot to discover it couldn't free the sword.
"Ha!"
The Gilded Man turned to see the Housekeeper standing defiantly a couple of distances away and pointing with a smirk. "Only the one true king of England can wield that sword!"
Unfortunately, the gold robot ripped the sword and its pedestal off the ground, frightening Beakely.
"Oh no…" she mumbled.
With a mighty swing the Gilded Man smashed Beakley, sending her screaming, flying and rolling on the floor until she became unconscious. It turned back to its original targets while the rest checked up on the former agent.
"Granny!" Webby cried before angrily bringing out her grappling hook. "You just knocked out the wrong old lady!"
The Gilded Man tried to strike Donald, Daisy, Della, and Scrooge with the sword on its pedestal but missed. The robot tried again until Webby used her grappling hook to snatch the sword away from it after tying one end of the rope to a statue. Then, Webby proceeds to attack the robot as the kids approached the scene.
"Mom?!" Dewey cried.
"Hi kids! I'm saving you!" Della waved.
"Della focus!" Daisy shouted as she casted Firaga on the Gilded Man, dodging an attack.
"Guys what the hell is going on here?!" April asked.
"Della accidentally reactivated the Gilded Man!" shouted Donald.
"And now he's out for vengeance!" Scrooge added.
The kids looked determined they stood their ground as Webby rejoined them. Lena and Violet helped Beakley to the side.
"Stay here Mrs. Beakley, let your injuries heal." said Violet.
"And don't worry about us." said Lena. "If we can brave monsters of different kinds,w e can handle a giant gold robot."
"Be careful." Beakley said.
The shadow duck and hummingbird nodded as they ran to their family, summoning Diamond Dagger and Energy Mace as they joined them. Huey summoned Spirit Guando, Dewey summoned his Lader Blades, Louie drew his khopesh, Webby clutched her Persian Blade and her grappling hook, April summoned her Sun Glaive, May summoned Starfire Sword, and June drew her Viper Khopesh. Scrooge switched his cane with the one Ludwig gave him during his days as a SHUSH agent: the Von Drake Action Cane PPK.
"Whoa! Where did you get those awesome weapons?!" Della asked, looking at her kids' weapons in awe.
"Pyramids of Toth-Ra." Louie shrugged.
"Always had this one." said Lena.
"And Sora and the others gave these to us from the weapons vault on the Gummiship." added Dewey.
"We used them to fight bad guys in Monstropoilis for two days!" added May.
"Well they look amazing!" Della grinned as she, Donald, Daisy, and Scrooge rejoined the kids. Della summoned her Godslayer Sword.
"Whoa Mom!" gasped Dewey.
"Did you just summon a sword?!" gasped Webby.
"Yep!" Della grinned. "I call this baby the Godslayer Sword. And I fight well with this thing any day!"
"Come on family, let's take this piece of junk down! FOR GOOD!" said Donald.
Everyone yelled in determination as they got into fighting stances.

The Gilded Man attacked first as it tried to smash the group as they all dodged it. Donald casted Thundaga first to hold it back so the kids could scatter. The Gilded Man slammed its hand down on the ground before it could get them. Huey jumped up and slashed at its arm, followed by Lena throwing orbs of dark magic. The giant robot smacked the kids away before Dewey opened fire on its face with his blasters, making it stumble a little. He switches to his Laser Sabres and leaps up, stabbing its stomach. When it tries to swat him, Dewey leapt off and rolls on the ground, glaring at the Gilded Man. The Gilded Man tried to stomp on Dewey, but Della came to his aid, kicking the foot back as hard as she could and then slashed it four times with her sword. The Gilded Man slammed its fists against the ground, launching them all into the air. Scrooge used this opportunity to use his spy cane to blast the giant robot in the face, making it clank in anger before Scrooge used his cane like a pogo-stick to bounce off its face into the air. April and June took this opportunity to attack from behind, jumping up and slashing its shoulders and back with their weapons. The Gilded Man snarled as it smacked them away, but Donald jumped up and casted Double Firaga against the giant robot. Violet used this opportunity to jump up and smash her mace into its neck. Webby launched up with her grappling hook and used her blade to try and slash the robot's chest. Webby was suddenly knocked away by the Gilded Man's arm, but Louie and June heard their khopeshes against said arm to make it fall back. Daisy covered them as she used Zero Gravity to launch herself into the air and then used her Keyblade to unleash a Meteor spell against it. The Gilded Man tried to smash the group again but Donald used both his weapons to cast a Double Blizzaga spell to send it back.
"Man this thing is stubborn!" said April, dodging a giant hand almost crushing her as she slashed the wrist.
Dewey fired multiple blasts from his laser blades before rolling out of the way. "How are we gonna take it down?!"
"Give it all you got kids!" Della yelled as she jumped into the air and slashed the Gilded Man across his face and tried to stab it in the eyes.
Donald raced across the years as fast as he could and then jumped into the air. The mage slashed and bashed the Gilded Man with his weapons and then used them both to unleash Raging Storm against the massive robot. Using this, Donald used his Keyblade to cast a Crawling Fire spell at the stomach and then used his staff to unleash an Icicle Mine spell. Della jumped to cover her brother on top of the machine and slashed it all around before she kicked it between the eyes. The robot hissed from its innards and smacked the twins away when Huey and April attacked with their weapons, slashing it all across its arms and then ran away when they were about to be smashed by the robot's fists. The impact of the attempted smash on the ground launched the heroes into the air. Scrooge used this opportunity to use the Rocket Mechanism to charge at the Gilded Man. The billionaire landed and whacked and punched the robot in the face before blasting it with Knockout Gas Mechanism to stall it. As the giant golden robot tried to regain its senses, Daisy used the advantage to cast Blackout to stall it further and then used her energy to cast Transcendence to attack it further. She then landed and cupped her hands so Violet could jump off of them into the air and then bash the Gilded Man with her mace. Lena then charged up to the robot and enchanted her Diamond Dagger so it would zoom around, slashing the Gilded Man all around. Webby crawled around the giant robot as she used her Persian Blade to slash any open parts. The Gilded Man attempted to smash her, but Webby jumped out of the way as it smashed itself in the shoulder. The Gilded Man smashed the ground to knock the heroes over, but Louie and June used that chance to climb the arms of the robot and charged towards it. June slashed against the neck as Louie whistled and his khopesh flew around and slashed all around the face. Dewey and May attacked from behind as they leapt into the air. May jammed her sword into the back of the robot's neck as Dewey opened fire on the back of its head.
The McDuck family regrouped.
"Hey, I think we're finally getting to it!" said May.
The Gilded Man seemed to roar at them as it got up and it's eyes glowed a scarlet red.
"Or not." June deadpanned.
The robot brought it's arm down to smash them as a whole.
"SCATTER!" Scrooge shouted and they all did so.
The Gilded Man grabbed a tree and tossed it right at Donald, Della and Daisy.
"Get back!" Donald quacked.
Donald ran up front to cast an Eldritch Magic spell circle like Doctor Strangeand Wong . He turned that circle around and it sliced the tree in half like a saw blade, splitting it apart and they flew past the ducks.
"Whoa!" the kids said in awe.
"Bless me bagpipes!" Scrooge exclaimed.
"Whoa bro! I didn't know you could do that!" Della said in shock and awe.
"I've been reading some scrolls a fellow mage gave to me." smirked Donald.
The Gilded Man swung it's fist back at them when Lena ran up and used her magic to try to create a forcefield.
But the Gilded Man bashed right into her and Lena's magic went haywire around her as she flew through the air, screaming.
"LENA!" everyone cried.
"Hang on Lena we got you!" April called as she, May, and June ran over to catch her.
Lena flew towards the ground as the Duck Girls jumped up and grabbed her mid-air, Lena's magic surrounding them as they landed on the ground and carefully set Lena down. None of them noticed their friendship bracelets briefly glow a bit.
"Oh thanks girls." Lena breathed in relief.
"Hey what are friends for?" smiled May.
"We got your back girl." smirked June.
Suddenly the Gilded Man stomped on the ground and everyone stumbled and fell over.
In the process, Webby rolled towards the Gilded Man. It spotted the girl duck and it's eyes glowed blood red as it raised its foot above her.
"WEBBY!" gasped Donald.
"PINK!" shrieked Lena.
"NO!" Dewey yelled.
Dewey took off after his crush, not realizing his friendship bracelet was glowing. Webby was about to be crushed but at the last moment a blue blur of light blasts in just as the Gilded Man stomped its foot. Everyone gasped in horror but that turned to relief when Webby was nowhere to be seen. They looked to see Dewey was holding Webby in his arms, bridal style. Everyone was stunned with what just happened.
"Webby, you okay?" Dewey asked.
"I'm fine, thanks to you." Webby smiled before it turned to confusion. "But Dewey...how did you…?"
"I...don't know." Dewey said, equally confused as he set Webby down safely.
Everyone was surprised.
"DUDE!" Louie said in shock.
"Dewford that was amazing!" said Violet, slack-jawed.
"I didn't know my son had super speed!" Della said, shocked.
"Dewey how did you do that?!" Donald asked.
"I have no idea how I did all that." Dewey replied. "I just wanted to save Webby and all of sudden I gained this burst of speed. And the other two just came from there."
His friendship bracelet was glowing blue much to everyone's shock. Webby and Lena took hold of it.
"Dewey, your friendship bracelet." said Lena.
"It's glowing!" gasped Webby.
"What the heck's going on?" asked June.
Huey and Violet thought of something.
"Could it be...?" Huey murmured.
Everyone faced the red-clad triplet.
"Huey what is it?" asked April.
"Remember that sleepover we had a while back, with Magica trying to attack Lena in her nightmare?" asked Huey.
"Wait, you mean Magica De Spell?!" Della gasped.
"Later Della." said Daisy.
"Oh yeah, totally." said Dewey.
"Still do." said Louie.
"I remember." said Webby.
"Still trying to forget the nightmare part." Lena muttered.
"As you may all recall Magica was trying to pull Lena into a mirror in order to take her powers back." said Violet.
"I definitely remember that, Webby and I tried our hardest to pull her to safety." said Louie.
Flashback, during the events of Friendship Hates Magic!/Hill Valley Part 2:
Electricity surged all over Lena as Magica tried to pull her in, Louie wais the first to grab her other arm and pull her in his direction and now it's become a tug of war. Louie's friendship bracelet glowed and Webby took his other hand and pulled behind him. Her bracelet glowed too and in response she and Louie were enveloped in a radiant blue light. It slowly turned into a chain of friendship as Dewey, Violet and Huey joined in, pulling together with all their strength and becoming enveloped in the same blue light.
"As you may recall we all formed a chain to pull Lena away from Magica together." said Violet.
Louie, Webby, Dewey, Violet and Huey pulled with all their strength together, determined to save Lena no matter what. Their friendship bracelets and eyes glowed green, pink, blue, purple and red, strengthening their bond as they continued pulling Lena away from Magica, grunting and groaning as they did but Magica wasn't giving up. She got Lena in a headlock and was close to pulling her inside the mirror where she'd be lost forever. She feels her hands slipping away from Louie. His glowing eyes release tears and so did Webby's.
Both their tears dropped on Lena and in response to the display of friendship her friendship bracelet and eyes glowed dark purple and she became enveloped in the blue light. The Duckburg Six made one final pull.
"When we made indirect contact with Lena while her magic was active our friendship bracelets must've absorbed some of her energy." said Huey.
"Energy which was now become a part of our bodies." added Violet.
Present:
Donald, Daisy, Della, Scrooge, April, May, and June were surprised.
"Wow… friendship power…" Della breathed in awe.
"I never knew that was real magic…" breathed Daisy.
"That is so cool!" exclaimed May.
"Wait, you're saying we're mages now." Louie surmised.
"I don't think mages are supposed to have Super Speed like I just did." Dewey said as he looked at his sailor mage uncle. "Do they?"
Donald did a 50-50 gesture.
"I don't think you guys have become mages." said Lena. "I would've known or suspected a long time ago if that were the case."
"I think it's more accurate to assume your magic's given us powers and abilities best suited for our characteristics." said Webby.
"So, in other words, you guys have…" Daisy began.
Their friendship bracelets glow red, blue, green, pink, magenta, dark purple, yellow, orange and purple respectively.
Everyone was surprised.
"Whoa!" Della shouted.
"Curse me kilts…" breathed Scrooge.
"Quackers!" gasped Daisy.
"I-I-I don't believe it…" Donald gasped, speechless.
"We have powers now. Actual powers!" Huey gasped.
"Whoa!" Dewey cried in awe. "So, your magic has given me Super Speed?! That is so cool!"
"It suits you Dewey! You're always so quick with what you do in life." Webby giggled.
"But wait, the three of us weren't there when you tried to save Lena from Magica!" said May.
"Yes… but have you come in close contact with her magic ever since you met her?" Violet.
The four girl ducks gasped.
"When we saved her after she got hit by the Gilded Man!" April realized.
"Her magic was going all batshit crazy around her when she flew!" said May.
"That's right! I lost control thanks to that giant smack," Lena said.
"And then when we caught her, that's when we touched it." June finished. "That's how we got it."
"Uh I'd hate to be a nuisance, but the Gilded Man has just realized it didn't squash its target." said Scrooge.
And they looked and saw the Gilded Man turn to face them as it's eyes glowed.
"Oh this is gonna be fun!" Dewey said with a grin as his bracelet glowed. "Come ands get us you giant hunk of junk!"
Dewey clutched his weapon and charged forward with his speed.
"Come on fam let's cover him!" said Della.
Donald, Della, Daisy, and Scrooge ran into action.
"Wait, how do we know what kind of powers we even have?!" asked Huey.
"Try calling to them with your heart!" Donald called.
"That's what I'm Dewey-ing!" Dewey yelled as he zoomed up the Gilded Man's arm and opened fire on its face with his blasters. The Gilded Man tries smash Dewey with its other arm but using his new speed he leapt high up, switching to Laser Sabres and spinning like a wheel with them to stab the Gilded Man's head, hard enough to actually pierce it and make it stumble back. The android tries to squash Dewey only for him to leap off and make a run for it.
"Call to them…" Huey breathed as he focused. Suddenly, his hands glowed red. He looked up and saw the Gilded Man attempt to flatten him with his palm. Huey yelled in alarm as he held his hands up and then a surge of energy shot out from them and blasted the Gilded Man's palm backward. "OHMYGOSH!" Huey yelped. "I think I have energy powers!"
"Good on you Huey!" shouted Daisy as she casted Fission Firaga on the giant mechanical monstrosity.
Louie whistled as his khopesh flew around and slashed the Gilded Mana again. But the monster suddenly knocked Louie away and he fell against the ground. Louie looked up and saw the Gilded Man walk up to him and attempted to crush him. Louie put his hands to the ground then they suddenly glowed green. Suddenly, a pillar of earth burst out from Louie and smashed the Gilded Man in the face.
"Holy cow! Did I just do that?!" Louie exclaimed.
"You sure did Greenie!" Lena smirked as she sent magic hexes against the Gilded Man.
Webby used her grappling hook to climb onto the Gilded Man and slashed him across its stomach. But the robot flung her off. As Webby screams as she hits the ground, she looked up a the last second and saw it lifts it's foot up right above her. Webby screamed in fear and the Gilded Man brings down its foot, stomping her. But, to its surprised when its foot is getting pushed back. Webby was alive, underneath the foot, lifting and pushing it off with her hands while groaning and grunt as a vein form on her forehead and her friendship bracelet glows. With a scream she throws the Gilded Man off and it fell on its back. Webby looks at her hands, amazed with what she just did.
"OHMYGOSH THAT WAS AWESOME!" Webby said giddily. "I got super strength!"
"Nice job Webby!" praised Della.
"Wow that was hot…" Dewey breathed in awe.
The Gilded Man lifts its head up firing a laser that sends Webby flying and screaming. It got up just as Violet was creeping up behind the robot, clutching her mace hard. She began to run at it when it suddenly spotted her. Violet was about to run away when her bracelet began to glow, followed by her hands and even her mace. The Gilded Man attempted to punch the hummingbird, but Violet swung her enchanted mace against its fist as there was concentrated magic before a small magical explosion that sent the fist flailing backward.
"Newton's apple!" Violet gasped. "That was some peculiar magic enhancement."
May slashed at the Gilded Man's legs when she was kicked away by the left one. May groaned in pain when she saw a fist about to collide with her. May screamed in alarm and tried to run when her bracelet glowed… and she was suddenly enveloped in a spiralling fire-like magic that flails the giant fist back. May looks at her hands flaring up with flames.
"Whoa! Oh-ho boy this is gonna be a-May-zing!" May grinned as she suddenly charged towards the robot. May used her Starfire Sword to slash around the Gilded Man before running off of him and skidded to a stop. She swung her sword, unleashing a wave of fire the Gilded Man barely blocks.
"Oh, hell yeah! That was amazing!" May grinned.
April was running trying to dodge the Gilded Man trying to squash her with its palm. April suddenly tripped over a rock and fell. She clutched her sword and tried to get up. She didn't see the Gilded Man attempt to stomp on her when her bracelet glowed, and she could almost sense the foot coming towards her. April suddenly flew up and away as the foot smashed down, spun around and gasps to see she was flying in the air. Even more shocking was when balls of yellow psychonic energy forms in her hands, similar to Scarlet Witch's which she threw at the Gilded Man. They explode in its face, and it stumbles backwards. April then flew in and slashed at the for multiple times, making the massive robot back away before April landed on the ground.
"Holy crap that was amazing! I have psychonic energy powers!" April exclaimed.
June ran across the foyer trying to dodge the Gilded Man trying to stomp on her.
"Keep on trying you giant piece of junk!" June scoffed.
The Gilded Man turned and charged at June as she yelped and ran for the trees, her bracelet glowing.
The Gilded Man yanked two of the trees away to find June… but the youngest girl triplet was nowhere to be seen. The Gilded Man tried to scan around when it was suddenly struck against the back of its head by multiple slashes.
There was a small thud on the ground as June reappeared. She had been invisible this whole time.
"And that's how the Great Jundini does it." she smirked.
"Man these powers are awesome!" Dewey cheered.
"I am so proud!" Della cried happily.
Suddenly, the Gilded Man swung an arm, and it knocked all the kids away as they landed hard against the ground. It turns its attention to Della and fires its heat vision. Della gasps and held out Godslayer to block the lasers, causing them to spread a little. Della struggles and groans as the lasers slowly push her back. The android ups the power and the lasers explode sending Della flying and screaming. She crashes into a tree and drops on her tail feathers, losing her sword.
She gasps when the Gilded Man reels its fist back. When proceeds to punch her she screams in horror but to her shock Donald comes and catches the Gilded Man's fist by crossing his keyblade and staff, surging with electricity as his eyes glow blue.
"Donald!?" Della asked in shock.
"Don't…touch…my…SISTER!" Donald shouted, pushing the Gilded Man off with a surge of electricity.
The Gilded Man gets blasted from behind turns to see Daisy casting Pearl spells.
"Stay away from my fiancé and sister you robotic reject!" Daisy shouted, as she launched multiple orbs of light.
Annoyed, the golden android smacks Daisy away, sending her screaming and sprawling across the ground, knocking her unconscious.
Donald quacks with rage. "I'll teach you to hurt my family, you big palooka!" Donald snarled, dismissing his weapons.
Donald's hands glowed with red energy, similar to Wanda's magic, and he sent out a wave of red energy, engulfing the Gilded Man and immobilizing him. Donald followed up by casting Eldritch Magic to send out 10 magical ropes from all his fingers, ensnaring the Gilded Man, holding it down and stopping it from moving any further. It roared and struggled to escape but it was unable to fight back against the combined magic of Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch casted by Donald. The Mage of Thunder's eyes glowed blue as he sent electricity throughout the ropes, engulfing the Gilded Man and making it writhe and groan in agony. Recovering, Della ran up beside him.
"Whoa! Nice one, Don!" Della grinned.
Without thinking, Della charged before Donald and Scrooge could stop her.
"You hold down this robotic recluse and I'll take it down from the inside!" Della called
"What!?" Donald quacked in alarm.
She climbed up the back of the giant android as it's distracted, attempting to jump in through the space around its neck like she and Donald did when they were younger.
"Della, no! Stop! That won't work!" Donald called.
Too late, Della jumped into the neck but to her great dismay and embarrassment she became stuck.
"Oh come on!" she yelled, unable to fit through or get out. "Why isn't this working!? It worked before!
"Della, you idiot! That's not gonna work again!" Donald snapped.
"What do you mean!? It worked when you and I did it all those years ago!" Della retorted.
"We were kids back then you big dummy! Of course it worked that time!" Donald exclaimed.
"The lad's right, that was ages ago! You've grown! The both of you are adults! Things are different now!" Scrooge added as he got up.
The Gilded Man's eyes glowed blood red as it powered up and slowly began getting up, fighting against Donald's magic. The Mage of Thunder struggled with all his strength to pull but is failing.
"Oh no!" Donald cried.
Scrooge grabbed his nephew and pulled him.
"Steady, Donald! Hold it down!" the rich duck called.
"I can't! It's breaking free!" Donald grunted.
With a mighty roar the Gilded Man bursts from its restraints, causing Donald and Scrooge to stagger back, the magical ropes flailing. The Gilded Man turned and grabbed the ropes and violently pulled Donald in. He screamed as he gets banged around the ground like Loki did with Hulk. He hits the ground hard, the ropes disappearing and the Gilded Man ripped out another tree from the ground much to Della's horror.
"Donald, look out!" she screamed.
Donald quacked and brought up a barrier as the Gilded Man crushed him with the tree. He was comically buried in the ground, his head sticking out and in a daze as stars appeared above his head while he groaned. The Gilded Man smashed him a couple more times and violently hit Donald like a golf ball. He's sent flying and screaming, splashing into the pool.)
"Donald! NO!" Della shrieked.
Scrooge rolled to avoid being stomped but eventually got caught. Webby after regaining consciousness tried in vain to pull the sword out the pedestal only for the Gilded Man to capture her in its other hand. The android then squeezed them tightly; making the two gasp for air and their bones about to be crushed. Luckily, Dewey activates his air horn, forcing the android to release Scrooge and Webby and cover its ears in pain. The Duck Boys were each holding an airhorn.
"Hey it worked!" Dewey grinned.
The rest of the girls joined them.
"I'm surprised that it did work." commented Lena.
"Yeah we could hear that annoying thing in the hall when we got up." said June.
The Gilded Man then turned its attention to the kids, which forced them to run away screaming in horror.
Della gasped. "It hates noises!"
"I got a really loud idea." said Louie as he turned to Huey. "Huey, get some tape!"
"Good thinking Lou!" said Lena.
"We'll keep it busy!" said May.
Each triplet ran off in multiple directions, confusing the giant robot. Violet, Lena, and the Duck Girls used their weapons and new powers to distract it. June ran around, turning invisible whenever the Gilded Man was about to strike and April was in the air, launching psychonic energy balls, Lena and Violet casted hex spells and May launched fireballs, annoying the Gilded Man with them. The invisible June kept slicing away at its legs.
Having grown annoyed, The Gilded Man grabbed April and she gasped for air in its grip. It tossed her and sends her screaming into May. Both screamed as they roughly flew into some bushes.
It then smashed the ground with its fist, releasing a shockwave that made June visible and causes her to fall on her tail-feathers, causing her to gasp. The Gilded Man unleashes more lasers that explode in front of June and send her screaming and crashing into the mansion walls.
When Violet and Lena cast more hex spells, the android turns around to smack them. Lena and Violet are sent screaming, the former smashing through the dining room window and the latter crashing into a wall, dropping on her chest.
Huey reached Donald's toolbox on his houseboat and got some duct tape. He threw the tape to Louie who set the three air horns and tapes them together. He threw the connected horns to Dewey just as the Gilded Man closed in.
Dewey threw the horns to Della who set them inside. The Gilded Man shakeds and with a determined look, Della set her prosthetic leg on the horns, causing a loud sound to ring out. The Gilded Man cried in agony while its gears broke loose and its crystal core ruptured. The android moved back and stood straight, covering its ears as its left eye was about to shatter. Broken machinery drops onto Della's prosthetic leg. Scrooge and Webby, joined by the other girls, watch in shock while the robot's right arm fall off and tried to walk.
Louie saw this and gasped in terror.
"LOUIE LOOK OUT!" Della screamed.
Della struggled to get out, but her prosthetic foot was still stuck from the falling robot gear debris, so, she disabled her prosthetic leg from her amputated leg and jumped out and down to tackle and save her youngest son just in time before getting crushed to death by the falling Gilded Man as they rolled away. Though safe, the Gilded Man attempted one last strike to crush both Della and Louie with its only left arm. They gasped in terror when they look up. As it brings down its hand, they hug onto each other, bracing for the end.
(Hostile Program Boss Fight from Kingdom Hearts II ends)
CRASH!
Smoke billowed around the area.
Donald (after emerging from the water), Huey, Dewey, Scrooge, Daisy (after regaining consciousness), Webby, Lena and Violet (through the mansion windows), April, May and June's beaks are wide open in horror, fearing the worst.
"LOUIE!/MOM!/DELLA!" everyone screamed.
The Gilded Man powers down quite dead. After the smoke clears out, Della and Louie are revealed to have survived. Like with Donald and Della the fingers are merely buried in the ground and they aren't crushed. Della and Louie are hugged onto each other for comfort. Louie pulls back terrified from the near-death experience. He looks up at his mother as she gently rubs her sons face, giving a tearful smile as she's hit with memories.
Flashback:
Donald and Della are hugged on to each other for comfort, underneath the Gilded Man's giant hand. Della pulls back completely terrified from her near death experience. She looks at Donald with tears of fear streaming down her face but her twin brother comforts her by gently touching her cheeks and giving an almost tearful smile.
"You…saved me…" Della said in shock.
"I promised. I promised I'd always protect you." Donald promised. "That won't ever change Della."
Della's fearful expression turns into a smile and her tears of fear turn into tears of joy and gratitude, incredibly touched by her brother's words and action. She gently touches his cheeks before wrapping her arms around him for a soft and tender hug.
"Thanks Donnie." Della thanked.
Donald is a little surprised but then smiles and affectionately wraps his arms around Della reciprocating her hug.
Present:
This is different but similar. Touched by his mother's brave effort and sacrificial attempt to save him from certain death, Louie smiles and his tears of fear turn into tears of joy and gratitude, thus he gives his mom a grateful hug.
"Thanks Mom." Said Louie.
Touched by her son's gratitude and approval, Della smiled. She reciprocated his hug. Glad to see everyone's okay, Dewey and Huey ran up to the both of them as Louie helps Della out of the debris.
"Hey guys!" Della exclaimed, as she shared a hug with her middle and eldest son.
Webby helps Beakley up who gives her granddaughter a smile while Scrooge walks over with a smile.
Lena jumps down from her window helping up Violet.
April and May help up June, the Duck Girls share a smile.
From the pool, Donald smiled proudly seeing that his sister saved Louie and the battle was finally over. Donald climbed out of the pool and walked over to Daisy rubbing her head on the ground.
"Need a hand toots?" he asked.
"DONALD!" Daisy cried happily, taking his hand and hugging him.
The Mage of Thunder spots Della's prosthetic leg and walks over, picking it up.
The rest of the kids ran over and along with Huey and Dewey, embraced Louie in a hug.
"You're ok!" Dewey said happily.
"You're alive!" cheered April.
"Oh man I thought I lost you!" Lena cried, almost in tears as she looked at Louie.
"Well, I'm here." Louie smiled. "Thanks to Mom."
"Ah it was no trouble at all." Della said modestly before smiling. "But I would've done it again.
"How did she get free?!" Webby asked in shock.
"Good parenting Webby is about coping with change…" Daisy explained.
"And adapting to unforeseen challenges." Scrooge added.
"And she adapted." Donald said before walking up to Della, proudly offering the leg. "One day home and you're already learning."
Della put the leg back on, standing and adjusting to it properly before turning to her kids. They all exchanged warm, loving smiles.
"Huey… Dewey… Louie…I know you're not used to having a Mom. And I am not used to being one…but I'll figure it out as we go along…in time." said Della as she opened her arms for a hug.
"We all will." Louie smiled.
She bent down and Huey, Dewey and Louie ran into her and they embraced in a mother-sons hug. She stood straight to address the whole group.
"So, what do you guys wanna do?" Della asked.
The kids began cross-talking their desires for adventure energetically.
"Ooh, find a treasure!" said Louie.
"Discover a hidden temple!" Webby said giddily.
"Fight monsters!" Lena said daringly.
"Anything, everything!" Dewey said, jumping up and down.
"Bringing evil down to its knees!" April grinned.
"Well, let's get started!" Della laughed.
The entire family begins cheering joyously and loudly. Della chuckled before Donald placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Way to go sis. You just might get the hang of this parenting thing after all." he said with a proud smile.
Della placed her hand over his with a warm smile. "Thanks Don."
"You're going to be a great mom, Della. Just remember to take it slow and steady." said Daisy.
"We're gonna do our best to support you, Della. Daisy and I have a lot of parenting tips with your name on it." said Donald.
"Ooh! I'd love to hear them when we get the chance!" Della grinned.
"I still can't believe we have powers now!" Louie said in awe.
"I know right?!" grinned Webby.
"Giving what I witnessed when we activated out powers for the first time, they appear to happen when we call to them within our hearts, similar to our Keyblade-wielding companions." said Violet. "Our friendship bracelets glowing is the signal that they are active."
"Still so cool!" said Dewey. "We're kinda like you now Uncle Donald!"
"I guess you are." Donald chuckled.
"Thanks for the powers Lena." April joked.
"No big." Lena said dismissively. "I guess I'm not the only one with powers like that anymore."
"Sort of." said Huey. "You were born with them. We just received them by accident."
"Which means our lives have gotten even more awesome!" said Dewey.
"Hope that won't bother you Uncle Scrooge." Daisy joked.
"As long as they use their powers for good like Donald and Lena do, it'll be fine in my book." Scrooge replied. "However, I think they could use the proper training to make sure they don't go out of control before they use it for any 'fun.'" he added firmly.
"I can help them with that!" said Donald.
"And I'm sure the rest of our friends can too!" said Daisy.
"Oh man they are gonna be thrown for a HUGE loop!" said May.
"They are not gonna believe their eyes!" laughed Della. "Man today has been full of surprises."
"You can say that again." Lena chuckled.
But as she looked at Della, Lena could've sworn she felt a magic presence within the pilot duck. It was eerily similar to Donald's, but different. But thinking it wa just the aftermath of an exhausting battle, Lena dismissed it.
"Question, what should we do with the Gilded Man corpse?" asked June, gesturing to the giant hunk of metal.
"Sell it for scrap?" asked Louie.
"I like that idea." said Lena.
"Yeah I'd rather not have a reminder of that damn thing on our lawn." Donald nodded.
"I'll make the call." said Beakley, walking up after finally recovering. "You lot can go inside and get yourselves some rest and relaxation after all that fighting."
"You're speaking my language 22." said Louie, snapping his fingers with a point.
"Granny we have powers now!" Webby said excitedly.
"I saw." Beakley nodded. "Now we just need to make sure you use them to keep yourselves out of trouble."
The kids made their way inside, followed by Beakley, Scrooge, Daisy, and Donald.
Della stayed out a little bit longer and looked out to the town.
"I'm finally back. Back home with my friends, my family… my twin and my boys…" Della said with a smile. "I think things are gonna turn out great! Nothing can stop Della Duck after all…."
Castle That Never Was:
In the Throne Room, Master Xehanort, Young Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, Xigbar, Luxord, Marluxia, Larxene, Sephiroth, Terra-Xehanort, and Dark Riku all sat on their respective thrones. All barring the oldest wore their cloaks.
"So the pilot duck is back with her family." mused Xigbar. "I was wondering when she would come back from the moon. If at all."
"Speaking of the moon, Lunaris isn't gonna be a problem for us, is he?" asked Dark Riku.
Xehanort chuckled. "I made sure the leader of the Moonlanders got the message." he said.
"Lunaris may be an arrogant and dangerous being, but even he is not idiotic to more powerful beings like us." said Ansem.
"Our plans for the Keyblade War do not need any hindrance from any other powers." nodded Xemnas. "His attempts to invade their version of Earth will interfere with our plans."
"Didn't stop Thanos." Larxene pointed out. "You guys let him do his invasion."
"His invasion was for the purpose of eliminating half of the universe, which would've made things easier for us, Seven Lights or or new." said Terra-Xehanort.
"But when his 2014 counterpart planned to create a new one, which was not part of the deal, we decided not to risk it anymore." said Young Xehanort.
"Any interferences from similar factors as ours cannot clash together." said Xehanort. "If we are to make sure the Keyblade War is a success in our favor, all liabilities must be eliminated."
"Then why aren't we just killing those pathetic heroes?" Larxene scoffed.
"We cannot get into the Secret Forest Larxene." Marluxia reminded her. "But even so, we need the Seven Lights to clash with our 13 Darknesses if the χ-blade is to be forged."
"That should bring us back to the original discussion." said Luxord. "What of Della Duck? She is a mage like her brother after all."
"Yes but not as powerful as her brother." said Young Xehanort. "Her spitfire personality and running into danger will make her vulnerable to many attacks. She may never back down… but neither do we."
"And she thinks she can be a good parent? How pathetic." Sephiroth smirked. "She can't even be a good defender for them. She may have survived the moon and the creatures lurking on it… but she has no idea what we're capable of."
"Especially since we're getting stronger. Day after day our power grows, ready for us to deal with them during the war." said Terra-Xehanort.
"Della Duck's return doesn't phase us." said Ansem. "She may be a tough individual… but merely just another piece on the chess board."
"She may be back with her family… but she will need to start counting her days with them. Because unless they fall in line, it won't be a sight to behold in the slightest…" murmured Xemnas.
At that moment, Vanitas appeared on his throne, donning his cloak and mask.
"Vanitas." hummed Young Xehanort. "So glad you could make it. I sense your recovery went well?"
"Very well." Vanitas nodded. "Those idiots managed to get me well, but I'm not so easy to get rid of."
"So why you joinin' us so late?" Xigbar asked.
"Pete and Mortimer have just returned from the Pride Lands." Vanitas replied. "Zira is almost done shaping Kovu into her champion, ready to take on Simba."
"That fuzzball?" Larxene asked, sharpening her knives. "She's wasting her time with him. She should've been training Vitani. We all know Kovu's been the hesitant one ever since Scar took him in all those years back."
"Don't say that in front of Nuka." Xigbar joked.
"All the same, we'll see where Zira's family's allegiances lie." said Xemnas.
"Hopefully the same way as Makucha and his army." added Sephiroth. "Along with those three hyenas that followed Scar to his demise."
"One more thing. Simba and Nala's youngest son Kion has almost completed his healing at the Tree of Life." said Vanitas. "Guess getting snapped from existence managed to make that take longer."
Xehanort smirked. "Excellent. Once the Lion Guard leaves the Tree of Life, it will be ours for the taking." he said. "The Night Pride will be unable to stop us, with or without the Roar."
"Why do you want the Tree of Life?" asked Marluxia. "It can heal the sick, injured, and turn those who have been evil back to good."
"That last part is the main reason." said Ansem. "The Tree of Life is a good hindrance to our plans."
"Should we lose any of our allies to the Tree's Power, our Army of Darkness will decrease." said Xemnas. "We cannot allow that to prosper."
"Even though the Keyblade War is meant to be 7 lights against 13 darknesses, our power needed to get stronger after our partnership with Maleficent." said Young Xehanort.
"Tell those toons and Maleficent to keep up the contact with Zira." said Xehanort. "Once her family is ready to strike, that is when we will make our move on that world." He smirked evilly. "The Pride Lands and Tree of Life will never see such darkness coming…"
To be continued…
WOW this was hard to write!
Now the Gilded Man is gone for good and Della is ready to start being a proper parent. Let's hope it all goes well…
Up next, our heroes return to the Pride Lands where a lot of time has past. Kiara is grown up and ready to start her first hunt… but what lies beyond the borders of the Pride Lands?
Special dialogue thanks to Super Sayian 3 Odd, as well as Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, and Violet's powers from his story and making up April, May, and June's when I was on the spot.
