Pride Rock:
A few days had gone by since the fight between the Outsiders and Pride Landers. Sora and his friends were still in the Pride Lands. They still weren't sure why the world's keyhole hadn't shown up yet. But regardless, they still helped out when they could.
They assisted Vitani and her Lion Guard on patrol, especially since they could cover more ground with any Heartless or Nobodies about.
Those who had been turned into predators had also assisted the lionesses in hunting for food. Nala, Kiara, Tiifu, Zuri, Simba's mother Sarabi, Nala's mother Sarafina, and the other lionesses taught them that the key was to hunt only the oldest of the prey so the younger could grow up and continue the Circle of Life. If they overhunted like Janja, Reirei, and their clans tried to do back in the day, then there would be an imbalance. And Scar's reign would repeat.
One day, the world-travelers were with Simba, Nala, Kiara, Kovu, Timon, and Pumbaa in the den of Pride Rock. The lionesses were out hunting or doing whatever else.
They had gotten a surprise visit from two of Timon's relatives from the meerkat colony: His mother and his Uncle Max.
Ma was a short and overweight meerkat. She had green eyes, cream-colored fur, with a pale underbelly and brown ears, feet, and hands. She had several dark stripes on her back as well as an orange head tuft.
Uncle Max was a somewhat short and portly old meerkat. He had black eyes, dull brownish-gray fur, with a pale gray underbelly, dark brown fingers and toes, and a gray flattop.
Like with Po's father, Li Shan, who shared his name with Lea, albeit with different spelling, they would call Timon's uncle Uncle Max so they wouldn't get him and Goofy's son Max mixed up.
"So there we were, digging as fast as we could while my Timmy distracted the hyenas with Pumbaa. Had to put up a lot of supports so the tunnel wouldn't collapse." said Ma.
"My old heart was beating fast but I was just excited to dig!" said Uncle Max. "And it's a good thing too, otherwise being in the presence of hyenas would've made me go loopier than Iron Joe."
"Although I still find it amazing that there were some good hyenas out there like that Jasiri character Timmy told us about." said Ma.
"Ya think?! I thought Timon was having me on!" Uncle Max shouted.
"Sheesh and I thought Timon was dramatic." Lea said to Isa. "But I can see where he gets that from."
Isa snorted.
"Anyways, right as it looked like the hyenas were about to eat me and Pumbaa, I managed to stall for time." said Timon.
"How did you stall?" asked Ortensia.
Timon grimaced. Pumbaa, Simba, and Kiara snickered, Nala rolled her eyes, and Ma and Uncle Max traded glances.
"Well, I, uh, approached Shenzi and asked.. if she would... (gulps)... marry me?"
Kovu, Sora, and Co.'s jaws dropped.
"Wait WHAT?!" Ven and Roxas shouted.
"You proposed to Shenzi?!" Sora exclaimed.
"The same leader of the hyenas that willingly followed Scar?!" asked Riku.
"You're kidding us..." said Lea.
"Give me a break I had to stall!" Timon groaned.
"I can understand that." said Mickey.
"Anyways, Ma told us they were ready and we let it rip!" said Timon.
"Not what you're thinking!" Pumbaa chimed in.
Several snickers went around while the rest rolled their eyes.
"With the trap sprung the hyenas fell far away from us all!" Timon said proudly.
"You forgot the part where the last support beam didn't fall." said Uncle Max.
Timon blinked. "Oh right! Well I heroically dove down underground and kicked the support out of the way! Then that's when the trap collapsed!" he said. "I almost lost my life that day, but I came out on top alive as could be!"
"Thank god you did." Daisy chuckled.
"What a story!" said Minnie.
"These two always have quite the stories whenever they come by to visit." said Nala.
"You guys do seem happy when they come by." commented Sora.
"Out of all the meerkats in their colony, they and Timon were the only ones who helped us stop Scar and the hyenas and save the Pride Lands." explained Simba.
"They even babysat me a few times when Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, Rafiki, or my grandmothers couldn't." added Kiara.
"Were you a handful for them?" Naminé smirked.
Kiara blushed. "Maybe a little bit…" she admitted.
"Don't worry Kiara! Maxy's always been a handful for me!" Goofy chuckled.
"Usually more like the other way around." Max snorted.
Vitani walked up.
"Oh hey 'Tani!" greeted Sora. "Patrol go well."
"Very well." Vitani replied. "My team is really coming along."
"So no Heartless? Nobodies? Unversed?" asked Xion.
"None of the above." Vitani replied.
"That's good to hear." said Kovu.
"Anyways, my team has split up for the rest of the day, but we'll be happy to join in on the hunt for dinner tonight." Vitani said.
"Thank you Vitani." Simba smiled.
"Gotta say, Zira's pride really has come a long way since following her every order." commented Mickey.
"Truly shows how some really can change." said Terra.
Suddenly, Kasi ran up.
"Kasi what's going on?" Vitani asked.
"Tazama spotted unfamiliar animals entering the Outlands. Two of them are hyenas" Kasi said urgently. "It sounds like they're gonna try and get to the Pride Lands."
"Rogue animals aiming for the Pride Lands?" Riku asked.
"That doesn't sound nice!" said Pumbaa.
"Kasi, find the rest of the team and let's get to the Outlands to cut these strangers off." Vitani said urgently.
"Can do Vitnai! Haraka, haraka!" Kasi said, speeding off.
"Mind if we come help?" Kairi asked.
"Sure. Good way to keep the numbers against them." said Vitani. "Let's go!"
Vitnai raced off, Sora and his team following them.
"My goodness, don't you think you should help them?" asked Ma.
"Relax Ma they got this!" assured Timon.
"The Pride Lands are in good hands, er, paws." said Nala.
"Well as long as there's no danger out to get us, I think I'll spend some time digging." said Uncle Max.
"Why am I not surprised?" Timon drawled.
"Try not to disturb any of the underground animals." said Simba.
"I wouldn't think about it, your majesty." Uncle Max assured as he started digging a hole, singing, "Diggah Tunnah, Dig diggah tunnah, Keepa diggah never get done-a, Diggah Tunnah, Dig diggah tunnah."
Everyone chuckled as Timon and his mom rolled their eyes.
"Yep. Your uncle really likes to dig." mused Kiara.
"As long as it doesn't drive him off the deep end, it's fine with me." Timon said.
"What deep end? I don't see an ocean. Or even a lake." Pumbaa said in confusion.
The lions and meerkats said nothing.
Meanwhile, several animals were running through the Outlands. But they weren't just the inhabitants.
Of them were none other than Kion and his Lion Guard. The 5 original members of the team had changed a lot in appearance since Scar's fiery spirit had finally been defeated.
Kion had a light golden pelt and paler golden paws, underbelly, and muzzle, with scruffier fur on his upper cheeks and the base of his chest. His mane was red with few bright red stripes and a bushy tail tip, that is the same color as his hair. His eyes were orange-brown, with dark, thick eyebrows, a dark brown nose and whiskers, brown rims along the side of his light red-brown inner ears and black rims along the top. He had grown taller. His mane had grown slightly larger and most of the spots on his legs had faded. He also had a scar on his left eye, like Scar and Kovu. But unlike them, his scar had two small lines above his eye, and one below. His Mark of the Guard was imprinted in orange-red on his left shoulder. His claws are shown to be bigger, sharper, and with a black color.
Bunga had gray-blue fur all over, with a darker patch across his belly. He had muscular forelegs and a round face. His claws were a dark royal blue color. He had black pads on the soles of his feet. Lining the undersides of his forelegs was pure white fur. This fur color is also present across his back, and continued all the way up to his forehead. His eyes were very dark blue, with thick black eyebrows. His inner ears were pink, and his nose was dark-magenta. Three slightly darker spots were on either side of his face. He also had a slight overbite. He had large front teeth with a prominent gap in between them. His Mark of the Guard can be found on his left foreleg in a brighter tint than the rest of his coat. He had grown taller and his fur was longer.
Beshte had a stout body with thick legs, dark gray-purple toenails, and three dark spots on his back. His body color was neutral gray, which became much paler across his chest and jawline. His inner ears were pale pink, and the area around his eyes was a lighter shade of his body color. He had a short tail. His tuft of grey-black hair had grown longer. His snout was large, with two teeth protruding out from his upper lips and small whiskers forming. His eye color was blue, with black eyebrows. The Mark of the Guard can be seen on his left leg in a grey-cream color.
Ono was a narrowly built bird with a very skinny pair of black legs that are striped with orange, which lead to a pair of orange claws. The end of each claw also had a black spot. His upper body was compact, with pure white feathers across the main part of his body. Some pale orange and yellow feathers reached into the end of his wings and form a band around his neck. He had a long, pointy orange beak and lavender circles across his large eyes. His eyelids were a slightly more bluish shade. Atop his head, he sported a crest of five feathers of differing lengths, starting off with a light yellow at the bases and transitioning to a slightly dark tangerine orange near the tips. His Mark of the Guard was silver and could be found on his left wing. He had grown taller as a teenager.
Fuli had soft, vivid yellow fur, with many light brown spots and markings all over her body. She had five rectangular spots with smaller spots within them, as well as three spots on either side of her face, three on the top of each ear, and a bigger heart-shaped spot on her head. On the back of her head was also an arrow-like shape that resembles the one that Avatar the last airbender has. Also on her back she had two little heart-shaped spots as well. Her inner ears were light brown, rimmed with dark brown. Her muzzle, paws, and underbelly were a pale creamy-yellow, as was the fur encircling her eyes. Her eye color was a strong emerald green and she had black eyelashes. Her nose was a similar brown to that found in her ear, with a tawny brown bridge. Fuli was lithe and thin, with a light frame, large pointed ears, and a long tail that is tapered at the base. Her jaw is sharp and prominent. On her left shoulder, she is shown to had the Mark of the Guard imprinted in dark orange. As a teenager, she was taller and her brown spots had darkened to almost black. The number of markings around her legs had increased by one spot, while the markings around her body had changed in shape to the point of having spots within previously blank markings.
With them were Jasiri, Janja, the Lion Guard's 6th member and new Keenest of Sight, Anga, and another cheetah named Azaad.
Anga was a young female martial eagle. She had purple and white feathers with black and white underlining. Her eyes were yellow and blue and her feet were dark gray. She also had dark black stripes on both her legs. She had a dark-grey beak and a black crown on her head. Her Mark of the Guard, which was bright purple, was on her left-wing, just like Ono.
Azaad was well-built. His fur was yellow, somewhat darker than that of Fuli's. His muzzle, paws, and underbelly are a slightly darker shade of cream, which is also present around his grass-green eyes. The top of his ears are black, and inside the ears are light gray with hazel brown lining the sides. His pointed nose contains two shades of brown, again darker than that of Fuli's, and also larger. At the bottom of his muzzle are two black markings. The markings on his body are dark spots of various sizes and shapes. Lastly, he has a pointed muzzle, with a tuft of fur sticking out from beneath. His tail is striped with yellow and black, with a rounded black tip.
"No time to slow down. We need to stop Zira and her evil lions before they can harm the Pride Lands." Kion said.
"You think Sora and his friends are here?" asked Fuli.
"It would be cool if they were!" said Bunga.
"We're all with you, Kion." said Jasiri.
At that moment, Madoa suddenly came out of hiding. "Jasiri?"
Everyone stopped running.
"Madoa!" Jasiri said happily.
Suddenly there came hyena laughter.
Cheezi and Chungu come out from hiding
"Janja!" they cheered as they jumped onto Janja.
"We'd thought we'd never see you again." Chungu grinned.
"Aw, come on, furbrains, we wasn't gone that long." Janja muttered as the two got off of him.
"Madoa, do you know where Zira and her lions are?" Kion asked.
"They went into the Pride Lands, not long after Jasiri and Janja left to find you. We don't know what happened after that. We promised Jasiri we'd stay away from Zira, so we've been hiding." Madoa said.
"It's okay. You did the right thing." Jasiri assured her sister.
"But, if Zira's lions are still in the Pride Lands, something's up." Fuli said.
"You think Sora and his friends are struggling?" asked Bunga.
"I dunno Little B." Beshte replied. "I mean I know they handled Scar, but Zira and all of her Pride is a different story."
"Yeah, we need to return to the Pride Lands and see what's happened, and we'll need as much help as we can get." said Kion.
"My hyenas will be happy to help." said Jasiri.
Mzingo and the vultures flew in. "I do say. Is that you, Prime Minister?" Mzingo greeted.
"Prime what?" asked Bunga.
Mzingo bowed to Jasiri.
"Prime Minister Jasiri." he chuckled. "Welcome back. Your presence in the Outlands has been greatly missed."
"Mzingo, Kion needs our help to ensure peace in the Pride Lands. Would you and the vultures join us?" Jasiri asked.
Mzingo turned to his vultures. "All in favor of rendering assistance to Kion as per Prime Minister Jasiri's request?
"Aye." Mwoga and the vultures said.
"The ayes have it. We vultures would be honored to help." Mzingo said.
"Thank you, Mzingo. Everyone, let's go." Kion said. "Till the Pride Lands end…"
"Lion Guard defend!" the Lion Guard said together.
Meanwhile, Vitani led her Lion Guard and the Guardians of Light towards the Outlands.
"How much farther?" called Oswald.
"Almost there!" said Vitani.
"I can easily get there faster!" said Kasi.
"We're all in this together Kasi!" reminded Shabaha.
"You think they saw High School Musical?" Lea joked to his teammates.
"I doubt it." said Terra.
"Yet Timon knows that a beeper is." said Sora.
Suddenly, Heartless spawned in between both teams. Shadows, Wicked Watermelons, Bolt Towers, and Winterhorns.
"Heartless!" Sora yelled, summoning Kingdom Key.
Sora's friends summoned their signature Keyblades, staff, and shield.
"Vitani, you and your friends go ahead! We'll deal with these freaks!" said Riku, slashing at a Wicked Watermelon.
"What about you guys?!" asked Tazama.
"We'll be fine, just go!" shouted Aqua, casting a Deep Freeze spell on a Bolt Tower.
Nodding, the five lionesses ran ahead.
Soon they were all heading toward the Pride Lands.
"Kinda weird leading an army of Outlanders into the Pride Lands." Fuli commented.
"Yeah, I hadn't thought of it like that." said Kion. "But, if Zira's pride is still…"
Anga used her vision and spots Kovu on Pride Rock. He was keeping an eye on things while everyone else was in the den.
"Kion! I see a strange lion on Pride Rock. Dark fur, green eyes." Anga called.
"That's Kovu, Zira's son." Jasiri realized.
"Anga, is Kovu alone?" Kion asked.
"Yes. No sign of the Royal Family." the martial eagle replied.
"What about Sora? Donald? Goofy? Any of their friends?" asked Ono.
"No sign of them either." Anga said. "...Plus I barely know what they look like. I've just seen the paintings!"
"You think we're too late?" Fuli asked in worry.
"No. We can't be." Kion said, refusing to believe it.
"But, if Kovu is at Pride Rock, it means…" Jasiri was cut off just as Vitani and her Lion Guard came into the Outlands.
"It means you Outlanders don't stand a chance!" Vitani said.
"It's Zira's daughter, Vitani, and her lionesses!" Jasiri gasped.
"That's right, hyena. And, we won't let you invade the Pride Lands!" Vitani smirked, not knowing that this was Kion and his Lion Guard. It had been years since their last encounter. She turned to her Lion Guard. "Shabaha, hyenas. Kasi, cheetahs. Imara, hippo. Tazama, keep watch. The lion with the Mark of Evil is mine. Till the Pride Lands end…"
"Lion Guard defend!" the group said together.
Everyone was surprised.
"Lion Guard?!" Bunga asked in confusion.
"What in the Pride…" Kion began.
"Yaaah!" Vitani yelled as she attacked Kion, pouncing onto him.
Beshte and Imara faced against each other.
"Twende Kiboko!" Beshte bellowed.
"Musuli!" Imara shouted.
Both butted heads against each other, growling. And it looked like Imara was winning a bit.
Shabaha faced off Bunga, Janja, Chungu, and Cheezi.
"Ha! Got you now." Bunga smirked.
"That's what you think." Shabaha smirked. "Bila Hofu!"
Shabaha picked up Bunga with her jaws and threw him onto Janja.
Shabaha turned her head around and scared Cheezi and Chungu, laughing maniacally.
"Run, Cheezi. Run!" Chungu wailed as they ran.
"Wow, kind of like your style." Bunga commented.
"Yeah, she reminds me o' you." Janja grunted.
Azaad tried to attack Kasi.
"Mibinamet!" he yelled, only for Kasi to duck and turn around as Azaad landed with an "Oof!"
"Ha! Too slow!" Kasi mocked.
"I'm not!" Fuli yelled as she ran after Kasi.
Tazama watched Kasi and spotted something. "Kasi, tree!" she yelled.
Kasi jumped onto the tree, shouting, "Haraka, haraka!"
Fuli saw this and tried to jump after Kasi, but missed as she landed back on her paws.
Kasi smirked before looking up at her friend. "Thanks for keeping watch, Tazama!"
Anga and Ono spotted this.
"You see that?" Anga asked.
"Indeed." said Ono. "Vitani's so-called Lion Guard has the same strengths as the real Lion Guard, and it gives me an idea." He turned to Mzingo and his parliament. "Vultures, try to distract the lioness keeping watch, while Anga and I help Kion."
"Capital idea." said Mzingo as he turned to his flock. "All in favor?"
"Aye." Mwoga and the vultures said together.
"Vultures, attack." their leader commanded.
The vultures began to attack Tazama.
"Hiyo kali!" Tazama shouted in alarm.
A good distance away, Terra used a Dark Firaga spell on a Bolt Tower, Oswald used Exo Spark on a Wicked Watermelon, and Naminé casted Raging Storm on a Winterhorn.
"Alright everyone, that's the last of them!" said Mickey as they all dismissed their Keyblades, staff, and shield in puffs of magic.
"Donald, fly ahead and see if Vitani and the other need our help." said Naminé.
"You can count on me!" said Donald, taking to the sky.
The mage duck-turned-African bird flew close towards the Outlands and looked around. He gasped when he saw what was going on down there.
Kion and his Lion Guard and friends, fighting Vitani and her Lion Guard.
"Kion? The Lion Guard!? Hyenas and vultures?!" Donald quacked in alarm. "Oh this is bad, this is bad, I gotta tell the others!"
Donald attempted to fly back, only to knock into Tamaa the drongo.
"Oof sorry Donald! I was on my way to the Back Lands!" Tamaa said.
"Good for you…" grumbled Donald, rubbing his beak with one wing.
Both birds went their separate ways.
Donald flew down towards his team.
"So what's the sitch?" asked Xion. (1)
"The invaders in the Outlands aren't invaders! It's Kion and the Lion Guard! And the hyenas and vultures!" Donald quacked.
His 19 friends gasped in shock.
"Kion and the Lion Guard?!" exclaimed Ven.
"They're back from the Tree of Life?!" asked Kairi.
"Which means Kion and Ono are finally healed!" Sora said in excitement.
"But we got a problem! They're all fighting Vitani and her lionesses!" Donald said.
"Oh no…" Aqua said in worry. "They must think each other is the enemy. Vitani worked for Zira, and I bet she hasn't seen Kion in years!"
"They're gonna fight to the death over a misunderstanding!" Goofy said in worry.
"As if misunderstandings haven't already caused enough problems here." grunted Myde.
"Come on we gotta stop them all!" said Sora.
"Leave that to me! I got a trick up my sleeve… er, tail." said Lea, running off, his friends following him.
Down below in the Outlands, Kion grunted as Vitani knocked him to the ground.
Ono and Anga suddenly flew down to distract Vitani.
"Anga lenga!" shouted Anga.
"Aargh!" Ono yelled.
Seeing this, Kion pushed against Vitani and she landed on the ground.
"Okay, I've had enough. Everyone, get behind me!" Kion yelled.
The Lion Guard, Azaad, hyenas, and vultures stood behind Kion. He was getting ready to use the Roar on them. But Vitani and her Lion Guard weren't scared as they stood together.
But just before Kion could even use the Roar, two chakrams suddenly landed in between both groups, taking everyone aback.
"What in the Pride Lands?!" exclaimed Fuli.
"What are those things?' asked Jasiri.
"They look shiny! Ooh and red!" said Cheezi.
"We can see that fur-brain!" Janja huffed.
"They came from over there!" called Anga, pointing up ahead with her wing.
Everyone looked and saw Lea standing on the edge of the cliffside, having just thrown his chakrams.
"Don't you fucking move!" Lea shouted. (2)
"A monkey?" Bunga blinked.
"Who's the monkey?" asked Beshte.
"Lea!" Vitani exclaimed.
Lea jumped from the ledge and landed on the ground. "Everybody stay where you are, chill the F out!" he said, grabbing his chakrams. (3)
"Lea what are you doing?" asked Imara.
"Relax lionesses, this fight is over." Lea replied, dismissing his weapons in small bursts of flames. "Sora, guys, come on down!" he called.
Kion and his friends were taken aback. "Wait, you know Sora?" he asked.
"Again, who is this guy?!" asked Bunga. "And how does he have that fiery magic thing?"
"Kion! Lion Guard!"
The Lion Guard, hyenas, and vultures gasped.
Sora and his team skidded down the mountain, though Donald and Daisy flew down. They joined Lea in between both Lion Guards.
"SORA?!" Kion gasped.
"Donald!" gasped Ono.
"Goofy?!" asked Beshte.
"Kairi?!" gasped Fuli.
"Riku?!" exclaimed Bunga.
"Mickey?!" asked Jasiri.
"Hey it's those weird animal heroes again!" Janja said in shock.
"Hey Kion! Long time no see old friend!" Sora smiled. "Sorry we didn't come sooner, we were dealing with-"
Sora was suddenly cut off as Kion excitedly pounced on him and nuzzled his head.
"It really is you!" Kion said happily.
Sora chuckled. "Good to see you too buddy."
"Like father, like son." Donald quipped, thinking of how Simba would excitedly pounce on Sora and give him brotherly nuzzles whenever they reunited.
Sora then looked at Kion's face as he saw the Scar. "Kion...your face. You really were scarred." Sora said sympathetically.
Kion looked down sadly as he got off of Sora. "Yeah. I was. I guess my family told you what happened with Scar and Ushari?"
"They didn't need to. I have my sources. We know what Scar and Ushari did to you." Sora furrowed his eyebrows angrily. "The sick bastards..." he seethed.
"Yeah but I'm all better now." Kion promised. "The scar may be staying, but I'm back to my regular self."
"We're aware of that too." said Sora, smiling again. "And we're glad you are."
"Poa! You guys have grown up!" commented Beshte.
"We could say the same thing about you." Riku smirked.
Vitani suddenly remembered Kion as she looked closer at him. "Kion? It's been a long time. You look different with that scar, and surrounded by Outlanders." she said.
"Yeah… a lot of stuff has happened…" said Kion. "Sora, what's going on here?"
"More importantly, who are the new animals?" asked Bunga.
"Hey yeah I've never seen a good chunk of you before!" said Janja.
Isa remained stoic. Janja and his hyenas wouldn't recognize him in this form… even if they remembered his voice during his time as Saïx, they still wouldn't remember him since, as Scar put it, 'the lights weren't all on upstairs'... much.
"My name is Minnie. Mickey's wife." said Minnie.
"I'm Daisy. Donald's son-to-be-wife." said Daisy.
"I'm Max. Goofy's son." said Max.
"So you're Goofy's son huh? I can see that." said Ono.
"Hey he shares the same name as my meerkat great-uncle!" said Bunga.
"I thought Bunga was a honey badger." Azaad said, confused.
"Adopted by a meerkat and warthog he sees as his uncles." Fuli told her fellow cheetah.
"Anyways, I'm Oswald. Mickey's brother." said Oswald.
"Uh, how are a lion and a rabbit brothers?" asked Cheezi.
"I think it's also an adoption thing." guessed Madoa.
"Uh… something like that." Oswald replied.
"I'm his wife Ortensia!" said Ortensia.
"Now a rabbit and a cat can get married?!" Chungu asked in surprise.
"Interspecies romance isn't that uncommon." said Madoa.
"I'm Roxas." said Roxas.
"My name is Xion." said Xion.
"Name's Lea. Got it memorized?" said Lea, tapping the side of his head.
"I like this guy already!" said Bunga as everyone rolled their eyes, some smirking in amusement.
"Isa." Isa said plainly.
"The name is Myde." said Myde.
"I'm Naminé." said Naminé.
"Terra." said Terra.
"My name is Aqua." said Aqua.
"And I'm Ventus. But Ven is just fine." said Ven.
"Oh shortened name huh?" Bunga mused. "Kind of like how Kion's can be short for, what was it again…? Oh yeah! Kiongozi!"
"Bunga!" Kion blushed.
Everyone chuckled, Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu howling with laughter.
"Oh I am SO never letting you live that down." Fuli smirked.
"You and me both." laughed Jasiri.
Kion tried to change the subject as he looked at the unfamiliar animals. "Anyways... yes my name is Kion. Leader of the Lion Guard."
"I'm Bunga! The Bravest!" said Bunga.
"Fuli. The Fastest." said Fuli, flexing her claws.
"Beshte. The Strongest." Beshte said, flapping his ears.
"Anga. Keenest of Sight." said Anga.
"Ono. Former Keenest of Sight and currently the Lion Guard's Smartest." said Ono.
"We know who you are." said Aqua. "Simba, Sora, and the others told us about all of you."
"From the Lion Guard, to the hyenas and vultures they both befriended, fought, and eventually fought alongside." said Oswald.
Jasiri and Madoa smiled while Janja, Cheezi, Chungu, Mazingo, Mwoga, and the vultures traded awkward glances.
"Anyways, what are Vitani and her 'Lion Guard' doing in the Pride Lands?" Kion asked.
Before anyone could reply, Kiara and Kovu raced down the cliff. They stopped near Sora and his friends, not having noticed Kion and his large group yet.
"Whoa Kiara, Kovu, where did you guys come from?" asked Ven.
"I saw the Heartless in the distance so Kiara and I decided to come and see what was going on." Kovu said.
"We're here to help!" said Kiara.
Kion looked at Kiara, confused. But then he realized who she was and gasped at the familiar lioness. "Kiara…?"
Kiara looked back and gasped as well. "K-Kion?!"
Brother and sister stared at each other in shock and silence as they drew closer to each other.
"Kion… i-is that really you?" Kiara asked, her voice almost cracking a bit.
Kion managed to smile. "Y-Yeah… it's me Kiara… I'm home…" he said.
Kiara burst into tears of joy as she and Kion ran up and hugged each other as tight as they could.
"KION!" Kiara shouted happily, tears streaming down her face.
"Hey big sis!" Kion grinned, almost crying himself.
"Oh baby brother I thought I'd never see you again!" Kiara sobbed.
Kion laughed. "Nothing could keep me down! Not even the Mark of Evil!" he said. "The Tree of Life healed me. I'm all cured Kiara."
Kiara chuckled through her sobs as she and Kion let go. She gave Kion a sisterly nuzzle.
"I'm just so happy you're home." Kiara said with a smile. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too. I missed all of you guys." Kion said, returning the nuzzle.
Everyone smiled at the scene, some wiping tears from their eyes.
"Aw that's so sweet!" smiled Kairi.
"Brother and sister reunited." smiled Sora.
"I know the feeling." said Donald, remembering his reunion with Della.
"It's so heartwarming." said Beshte, tearing up a bit.
"I will admit, this is pretty nice." hummed Vitani.
Janja sniffed.
"Janja…are you crying?" asked Jasiri.
"N-No! I-I'm just sweating through my eyes!" Janja denied.
"It is fine for even the toughest of animals to shed a tear," said Azaad.
"I know those two are." said Mwoga, gesturing to Cheezi and Chungu who were sobbing uncontrollably.
Sora, Riku, Kairi, Donald, goofy, and Mickey approached the Lion Guard.
"It's really un-Bunga-lievable that we get to see you guys again!" Bunga said excitedly.
Mickey chuckled. "We're happy to see you too Bunga."
"Gawrsh, you guys sure have grown up." said Goofy.
"Well it has been a while since your last visit." said Ono.
"Did you know that we took down Scar?!" asked Bunga.
"We were told that yes." said Riku. "Sorry we couldn't help you. We had other stuff to deal with."
"Oh we believe it." said Fuli. "So did we after Scar was defeated."
"Yeah we were told you had to go to the Tree of Life to cure Kion from turning evil and to heal Ono's eyesight." said Kairi. "I can see Kion's healed."
"What about you Ono?" asked Donald.
"I can see again." Ono smiled before faltering. "Though I can't see as well as I used to. Side-effect from the ash I guess."
"Aw I'm sorry Ono." Donald said sympathetically.
"Hakuna Matata Donald." Ono said. "The important thing is that I can see again."
"Yeah. That's better than nothing." Donald said with a smile.
"I'm really glad to be home Kiara, but I'm confused." said Kion. "What are Kovu, Vitani, and their pride doing here?"
"Kovu has joined our pride, so has Vitani, and the rest of Zira's pride." said Kiara.
Kion and his friends were taken aback. "They... They have?" he asked.
"Yes." Kiara nodded.
"Uh, Vitani, what's going on here?" Kovu asked his sister.
"Yeah, what's going on here?" asked Bunga.
"A big misunderstanding was about to start a fight." said Ven.
"Wouldn't be the first time." said Isa.
"We heard Zira was gonna attack the Pride Lands. Where is she?" asked Kion.
Everyone was silent for a moment.
"Zira has completed her journey on the Circle of Life." said Kovu.
"So has Nuka." said Myde.
Everyone who was away from the Pride Lands during the whole ordeal was surprised and confused.
"Huh?" asked Fuli.
"What?" asked Jasiri.
"They have?" asked Kion.
"Even your older brother?" asked Madoa.
"Come to Pride Rock, Kion. We'll explain everything there." said Kiara.
"And trust us, you're gonna be in for one helluva ride." said Riku.
"Okay." Kion nodded. He turned to face Jasiri. "Jasiri, Asante. Thanks again."
"Anytime, Kion. If you ever need help, you know where to find us." Jasiri smiled.
"Leading the Outlands, as you were always meant to." Kion smiled back.
Kion and Jasiri hugged each other.
"Thanks for trying to bring in extra help Jasiri." said Sora. "And Janja, Cheezi, Chungu. Nice to see you guys are on the right side."
"You and your vultures too Mzingo." said Kairi.
"Well after Scar was willing to kill us after we got cold paws, Jasiri's saying became a much better thing to live by." said Janja, managing a smile.
"Oh yeah! Being good is nice!" said Cheezi.
"Yeah and we got to make new friends with Jasiri's clan and share in what the lion's leave behind after their hunts!" said Chungu.
"It truly is better than scraping away in the Outlands after so long." said Mzingo.
"Good to see you guys really are making amends." said Kairi.
"And finding your role in the ol' Circle of Life!" added Goofy.
"But what about the crocs and jackals?" asked Donald.
"We let them in on proper leftovers as long as they listen to order." said Jasiri.
"And if they step out of line, we all work together to get them back there." added Madoa. "Speaking of which, we'd better get going. Everyone will be happy that you two are back."
"Tell Tunu and Wema we said hi!" said Bunga.
"We will." chuckled Jasiri as and the Outlanders left back into the Outlands.
Anga flew up to the group. "So you're the other famous group of animals I've heard a lot about." she said. "And the Sora, Donald, and Goofy who helped Simab defeat Scar."
"It was the least we could do." Sora said modestly.
"And you must be Anga, Ono's replacement for the Keenest of Sight on the Lion Guard." said Roxas.
"Really like your purple color." said Daisy. "My honorary niece Violet would like to meet you."
"Why thank you." Anga said modestly.
"By the way, who's the other cheetah?" asked Sora.
"My name is Azaad. I became acquainted with the Lion Guard during their journey to the Tree of Life." said Azaad. "It is an honor to meet some animals with the unique abilities Kion and his friends have mentioned during the journey back here."
"Likewise Azaad." said Isa.
"Come on let's head back to Pride Rock and tell these 7 all that's happened." said Aqua.
And they all began to head back to Pride Rock, though Kiara and Kion lagged behind a bit and smiled at each other.
"I'm really happy you're home little brother." Kiara said with a genuine smile.
"And I'm happy to be back home big sis." Kion smiled back.
The two shared a sibling head-nuzzle before they ran after the others.
Back at Pride Rock, Simba and Nala were overlooking the Pride Lands when…
"Mom! Dad!"
The Lion King and Queen's eyes widened. They looked back and saw Kion run up to them.
"Is that…?!" Simba gasped.
A big grin came across Nala's face. "KION!" she cried excitedly.
The three lions immediately hugged and nuzzled each other.
"My son! You're home!" Simba said happily.
"You finally came back!" Nala cried, shedding some tears.
"I know… I'm happy to be back home… with all of you." Kion smiled.
"Welcome home, son." Simba said proudly as they separated their hug.
Nala then frowned as she saw Kion's scar. "But, your scar." she said.
Kion smiled reassuringly. "I'll always have it. But, the venom is gone. I'm healed." he said.
The rest of the Lion Guard and Azaad walk on to Pride Rock. Sora, the Guardians of Light, Kiara, Kovu, and Vitani stood at the bottom of said rock so they could all have a moment.
"So, the journey was worth it?" Simba asked.
"Indeed. I got my sight back!" Ono grinned.
"The Tree of Life was Bingcredible." Bunag said before correcting himself. "I mean, un-Bunga-lievable."
"And we met lots of amazing animals." said Beshte.
Fuli turned to Azaad and smiled. "Yeah. We did." she said.
"And, who is this?" Nala asked.
Azaad bowed to Simba and Nala. "I am Azaad." he said.
"Azaad helped us get back to the Pride Lands." said Fuli.
"Thank you, Azaad." Simba thanked.
"It was my honor, Your Majesty." Azaad smiled.
Rafiki suddenly came up to Pride Rock, seeing someone missing. "But, not everyone has returned. Makini is not with you." he said.
"No. She decided to stay." Kion replied. "Queen Janna…"
He was cut off as Rafiki laughed. "Queen Janna was right! She was certain Makini's rightful place would be at the Tree of Life! Just as I was certain Makini's role would be here, in the Pride Lands." he said.
Sora and Co. were surprised as they heard that.
"So Makini was meant to be at the Tree of Life?" asked Goofy.
"Sounds like destiny has many paths." Ortensia hummed.
"I think we all found something special at the Tree of Life." Beshte said, giving Kion a look.
Kion nodded back before frowning. "But, when we heard Zira was headed for the Pride Lands, we came back as fast as we could. So, what happened?" he asked.
Simba said nothing as he looked at Rafiki. "Rafiki?"
"Yes, yes, this way. You will see." he said.
Everyone on top of Pride Rock joined the others down below. Rafiki explained what had happened recently to the Lion Guard and Azaad.
"After Kion roared Zira's pride out of the Outlands, Zira devised a new plan to take over the Pride Lands." Rafiki said.
"Zira raised me to believe that Simba was our enemy." Kovu said before looking at Kiara. "But, after I got to know Simba, Sora, Myde, their team... and Kiara, I realized she was wrong."
Rafiki played the paintings with his staff and it showed the fight between the Pride Landers and Outsiders just as Kiara, Kovu, Sora, Kairi, and Myde interfended.
"So, Zira led an attack on the Pride Lands herself. She had a lot of Heartless helping her. But, Kovu and I tried to stop her. Sora, Kairi, and Myde were by our side. We said we didn't need to fight because, as lions, we are one." Kiara said.
"Vitani and the other lions saw it was true, but Zira refused, and in the end, it destroyed her." said Kovu as the paintings showed everyone by Simba's side as Zira's picture faded away.
"After Zira was gone, Simba welcomed us into his pride." Kovu finished as he and Kiara smiled at each other.
"What about Nuka?" asked Bunga.
Sora, Myde, and Kovu grimaced.
"There was an attempted ambush on Simba by Zira. Near a gorge." Sora said. "Myde and I helped Simba fight them. I took on Vitani."
"And I took on Nuka." said Myde. "When Kovu refused to go after Simba on a pile of logs, Nuka tried to kill the king himself."
"But the logs were unstable. They were falling and…" Kovu's voice became soft as he looked down sadly. "And Nuka was struck… fatally."
The seven animals gasped.
"Y-Y-You mean…" Anga began, not sure how to finish her sentence.
"Nuka died in Zira's arms." Kovu said sadly. "He only wanted to impress her since I was the 'chosen one' by Scar."
"That's… that's just wrong…" Bunga said sadly.
"No one should outlive their kid." said Beshte.
"I had never seen Zira so… sad before." Kovu sighed before growling. "She blamed me… and gave me this scar."
The Guard and Azaad grimaced.
"Hevi Kabisa… sorry that happened to you." Kion said.
"It's not your fault." assured Kovu. "I made the right choice. Vitani did too. And so did the rest of our Pride."
"And one day, Kiara and Kovu will be queen and king of the Pride Lands." Simba said.
"We really did miss a lot." Kion said.
"You have no idea Kion." said Roxas.
"You did. And, we have missed you. All of you." Nala smiled.
"And we are not the only ones." Rafiki laughed. "Look!"
Zazu, Timon, Pumbaa, Ma, Uncle Max, and Beshte's dad Basi came over.
"Bunga! You're back!" Pumbaa cried.
"Uncle Timon! Uncle Pumbaa!" Bunga said excitedly.
"Dad!" Beshte cheered as the two met up with their families.
Timon and Pumbaa hugged Bunga.
"Hoo-hoo-ho-ho! My baby!" Timon said happily.
"Glad to see you again son." Basi said with a smile.
"Wow Bunga, have you grown up some more?" Ma asked, examining the honey badger all around. "Your fur looks longer than I remember!"
"You bet I did Grandma!" Bunga laughed, hugging her.
"He still smells the same as I remember him." Uncle Max huffed.
"Oh lighten up Uncle Max!" Timon chastised. "Just be happy Bunga's home!"
"Yeah Uncle Max! Be happy I'm home!" Bunga laughed, hugging his adopted great-uncle.
"Easy I'm an old meerkat!" Uncle Max wheezed.
"It's truly a day to celebrate!" Pumbaa cheered.
"I couldn't have said it better myself." Basi said as he and his son nuzzled.
Zazu flew before Kion.
"Prince Kion! Most wonderful to have you back in the Pride Lands." Zazu said with a bow.
"Good to see you again too Zazu." Kion smiled.
"It always feels good to return to the Pride Lands." Rafiki said to Simba before hitting him on the head with his staff. "Eh, Simba?"
"Yes, Rafiki." Simba said in annoyance.
The Lion Guard began to reunite with everyone in the Pride Lands.
Anga flew through the Pride Lands and was overjoyed to see Hadithi the eagle again after so long.
At Hakuna Matata Falls, Bunga was with Timon and Pumbaa having Utamu. Ma, Uncle Max, and the meerkat colony were nearby having their own food.
Pumbaa accidentally swallowed Timon awhile sucking up the grubs and Bunga pulled him out.
All three laughed together.
Ono was doing a bird dance with Kulinda the hamerkop and her daughter Ona, whom Ono had looked after back when she was an egg. All three hugged.
At Big Springs, Beshte and Basi were with the elephants and crocodiles. Beshte saw Mtoto the elephant run up with his herd, ran over, and hugged him.
Fuli was showing Azaad the Pride Lands as they past Bupu the antelope's herd. They arrived at the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pride Lands… as baboons jumped on them both, the baby baboon Fuli looked after tugging on her tail. Azaad was confused while Fuli gave a small, strained smile.
At night, Mufasa was in the skies, overlooking Simba, Nala, Kiara, Kovu, Kion, Sora, and Kairi on Pride Rock. Everyone else was either in the den or had gone back to their regular homes. He bowed with a smile before he disappeared into the clouds.
Simba, Nala, Kovu, Sora, and Kairi went into Pride Rock. Though Kion stayed behind a bit to look at the stars, four stars together specifically. Kiara noticed this, turned around, and approached him.
He glanced back up at the stars. Kiara took notice.
"Looking at stars, Kion?" she asked.
"Yeah. Those four stars helped us find our way to the Tree of Life. Seeing you with Kovu reminded me of a friend I made there." Kion replied.
"A friend? Ooooh." Kiara smirked teasingly. "What's her name?"
"Rani. Queen Rani." Kion replied.
"Ooh, a queen." Kiara mused, smirked.
"She's smart, brave, but also kind, a great leader." Kion said fondly. "You'd like her."
Kiara smirked. "Sounds like you do, too." she smiled softly. "You miss her, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do." Kion nodded.
"Maybe you can go back to the Tree of Life someday." Kiara suggested.
"Yeah." Kion nodded.
"I think Mom and Dad would understand." Kiara added.
"Maybe." Kion said.
The two were silent for a moment before Kiara faced her brother.
"Hey Kion, do you remember the day you became leader of the Lion Guard?" Kiara asked.
"Of course. I could never forget that day. Everything changed for me, for all the Pride Lands." Kion said fondly.
"Yeah, it sure did. Remember our argument when Dad was giving me lessons in the morning about being queen?" Kiara chuckled.
Kion laughed back. "Oh yeah. I remember that. Bunga and I were playing Baobab ball."
"And you ended up annoying both me and Dad in the process." added Kiara, rolling her eyes.
"And you ended up annoying by bragging about how you were going to be Queen of the Pride Lands." Kion countered, also rolling his eyes.
"And as usual you brushed it off without a care in the world. Then when I asked you about your future you said you'd grow up to be..." Kiara started with a sly smile.
"Happyyyy." Kion finished, the exact same way he said it to his sister on that very day, along with the same smug look.
The two of them burst into laughter over the memory of their bickering and joking that day.
"So, tell me Kion. Even after everything you've been through, would you say you're happy?" Kiara asked.
Kion was silent, for a moment. Then he smiled. "Yeah… I think I am."
Kiara smiled and gave her brother a kiss on the head. "All the same, I'm really happy you're home Kion. I really missed you." she said sweetly. "Despite any of our disagreements we've had when we were little… I'm always happy to have my brother around."
"I missed you too, Kiara." Kion smiled.
Kiara then realized something. "I just remembered something Kion... I won't have to kill you like you wanted me to if-" Kiara cut herself off, frowning. "If... if you turned evil..."
Kion was taken aback. "Like I wanted you to? What-" Kion cut himself off as he realized what his big sister was talking about. "Oh... right... that..." He sighed. "Kiara? I'm sorry if I stressed you out by making you keep that promise..."
Kiara sighed but gave a forgiving smile. "It's ok baby brother. I know why you said it before you left. But I am overjoyed that I won't have to go through with it." she said gently. "I could never forgive myself if I did. I love you so much Kion, despite all our fights. And no amount of evil, in either you or me, will ever change that."
Kion smiled, wiping small tears from his eyes. "Thanks Kiara." he said. "And you know... after being gone for so long, worrying about turning evil like Scar, and going a long distance twice… it is nice to see all of you again."
Kiara giggled as the two shared a neck nuzzle and went into the den to sleep.
It was good to be back.
Castle That Never Was:
Master Xehanort was overlooking the view of the Dark City when Ansem, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort teleported in. The latter two wore their cloaks and Ansem wore his regular clothes.
"I trust you have something to report?" Xehanort asked his vessels, turning around to face them.
"Indeed we have my future self. We have just learned that Prince Kion and the Lion Guard have returned to the Pride Lands." replied Young Xehanort.
"Kion was able to be fully healed from the scar Ushari inflicted on him, and Ono was able to regain his sight." Xemnas added.
Xehanort laughed.
"Excellent. That means we can proceed with our plans to attack the Tree of Life." said Xehanort.
"Should we start sending Heartless to attack?" Ansem asked.
Xehanort shook his head.
"Not yet. You three have come at a good time. We're about to test the resurrection spell and see if we can bring back Scar. We're just waiting on Maleficent, Magica, Sheldgoose, Felldrake, Zira, and Ushari." Xehanort answered.
At that moment a corridor of darkness opened but it wasn't any of the people that Xehanort just mentioned that stepped out, it was Pete and Mortimer.
"I hope you idiots have a good reason for coming to us at this moment." Ansem commented on the two.
"Idiots? Why I outta..." Pete started.
"Now hold on, we have a good reason for coming here. We wanted to let you know that we successfully found the clan of Scar's loyal hyenas, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed." Mortimer exclaimed.
"Y...Yeah, although they were a bit mad at me since I failed with helping Scar the last time I was at the Pride Lands, when I mentioned the chance that he could be resurrected along with the opportunity with revenge on Simba, they were all eager to join." Pete said.
"In addition, we were able to find all the remaining members of The Army of Scar who still have loyalty to him, and they agreed to join us." Mortimer added.
The four versions of Xehanort looked at each other for a moment before smirking.
"Well done you two, for once you actually did something without any problems." Ansem said.
"With our army of Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, Scar's hyenas, Makucha and his pack, and the loyal members of Scar's Army along with Zira, we will have enough forces to destroy the Tree of Life once and for all." Xemnas noted.
"Well, that will depend if we can get Scar revived." Pete said.
"And he will be revived, you imbecile." a familiar voice stated.
Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, Young Xehanort, Pete, and Mortimer turn around to see Maleficent, Magica, Sheldgoose, Felldrake, Zira, and Ushari walking (or slithering in Ushari's case) up to them. It was Maleficent that spoke. Zira had finally recovered.
In addition, Sheldgoose was carrying Nuka's body while Felldrake was being held by Magica.
"Ah, you have arrived." Xehanort said.
"What took you so long?" Young Xehanort asked.
"Blame my apprentice for having to carry that lion." Felldrake responded.
"Hey, it's not my fault this stupid lion is so heavy." Sheldgoose retorted.
"Was that supposed to imply something to my son?" Zira asked while giving the goose a fierce glare.
"Uh...no, n-not at all Zira." Sheldgoose winced as he looked at Zira with fear in his eyes.
"Tch...pussy." Ushari said to himself.
Xehanort shifted his eyes to Zira.
"I trust you had a pleasant recovery Zira?" Xehanort asked the lioness.
"I have, it took some time but luckily the injuries I sustained from the river were able to heal. I owe Magica my life for saving me." Zira replied.
"I was lucky to open up a corridor in time to save her when she fell, if she would've stayed in the river any longer, she would've died." said Magica.
"You have my deepest apologies for what happened with your pride as well as your son and daughter," Xehanort said with a frown.
Zira snarled.
"THEY ARE NOTHING TO ME. NOT ANYMORE. They sealed their deal the moment they joined Simba. I was this close to getting my revenge only for my traitorous son, Simba's princess, the Keybearer who helped defeat Scar, another princess, and worst of all, that meerkat who literally drenched my entire plan!" Zira yelled with rage in her eyes.
"Not to worry Zira, we will have our chance once Scar comes back." Ushari told the lioness.
"Indeed." Xehanort said before shifting his gaze to Maleficent. "Is the resurrection spell ready?" he asked.
Maleficent smirked. "Yes, after months of us four collaborating, the spell is finally ready," she told Xehanort. "Nuka will be the first one that hasn't been created from darkness for the spell."
"Although we must warn you, that the spell has a side effect." said Magica.
"What side effect?" Young Xehanort asked.
"Well you see, the spell is not fully finalized yet, when the user gets resurrected, they will be weak for a while." Sheldgoose elaborated.
"In short, they just need some rest before they are back up and running," Felldrake added.
"Do not worry, we will continue to work on perfecting the spell so that way this effect will not occur." informed Maleficent.
Xehanort and his three selves looked at each other and nodded and then turned back towards the group.
"Very well then, we shall proceed with the spell. Sheldgoose put Nuka's body down in the middle. We will revive him first as a test to make sure there are no problems." Xehanort ordered.
Sheldgoose nodded and proceeded to place Nuka's body down in the middle of the area. Once that was done he went to Magica to retrieve Felldrake in which afterwards the Shadow Queen also summoned her staff along with Maleficent summoning her own.
Zira then turned her head towards Sheldgoose.
"I have full confidence in both Maleficent and Magica, but you not so much. If something happens to my son, I will skin you alive." Zira warned the goose with a glare.
Sheldgoose, taking note of the threat with fear, nodded his head frantically.
"You all may want to stand back." Magica warned the others.
"Way ahead of you Magica." Mortimer said as he, Xehanort, his vessels, Pete, Zira, and Ushari all stepped/slithered back.
"You may begin." Xehanort said to the three magic users with a nod of his head.
Maleficent, Magica, and Sheldgoose slammed their staves against the ground. They began to chant something in an unfamiliar language as their staves glowed in purple auras of magic. The three of them made sure to aim them directly over Nuka's body as they chanted louder.
Nuka's body began to glow purple, flashing every so slightly as the glow grew brighter and brighter.
Xehanort, Ansem, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort watched, with neutral yet intrigued expressions. Pete and Mortimer looked scared. Zira was in awe and Ushari was impressed.
Nuka's body began to shake all around as the magic swirled around him. Suddenly there was a bright flash of purple before it vanished.
The three magic users stopped the spell.
"So uh… did it work?" Pete asked.
"Only one way to be sure." said Magica.
She walked over… and kicked Nuka in the leg.
Nuka suddenly shot up.
"YOW! HEY WHO'S KICK-?!" Nuka shouted before realizing something. "What the…? I-I'm alive? I'm alive?! But how?!"
Xehanort and his vessels were impressed.
"So it does work after all." said Ansem.
"All too perfect for us…" Xemnas added.
Zira felt like her heart had stopped as she looked at her now resurrected oldest son.
"N-N-Nuka…?!" she gasped.
Nuka turned his head, his eyes widening. "M-Mother? Is that you?!" he asked.
Zira grinned happily. "Nuka! It is you! My son!" she cried.
Nuka grinned and tried to go to his mother, only for him to stumble. "Whoa geez!" he exclaimed.
Zira ran over and had him against her.
"Easy my son…" Zira soothed. "Oh I am so happy to see you again…"
"Why do I feel weak?" Nuka asked, confused.
"Resurrection doesn't come without it's side effects." said Maleficent. "You will be experiencing fatigue for a while. You will need rest."
"Yeah-Yeah sure thing…" Nuka said, perplexed. "What in the Outlands is going on here?"
"It's a long story my son…" Zira said, snarling. "After you died, Kovu betrayed us. I decided to take over the Pride Lands by force. We fought against Simba and his pride, but Kiara and Kovu and that Sora character I heard about, along with two of their friends, put an end to it. Vitani and the rest of the pride betrayed us as well! I tried to fight back but Kiara got in the way. I was hanging over the edge. I refused to be saved by her and I fell into the river until these allies of mine saved me and brought me here to recover."
Nuka was shocked. "Our whole pride sided with Simba?!" he exclaimed.
"Yes." Zira said before smirking. "But we will get our revenge with the help of our friends. I didn't tell you all about them yet because I was focusing on making sure Kovu was ready. But now that he and Vitani betrayed us, you are now the chosen one."
Nuka was ecstatic. "YES! Finally I'm the chosen one!" he cackled like mad. "Oh I won't let you down, Mother!"
"I know you won't." Zira smirked.
Xehanort watched with interest before he walked past the two lions to the mages and fairy.
"Impressive, work you three. The spell is a success, now we shall resurrect Scar. I assumed you still have the hourglass containing his DNA?" Xehanort asked.
The three nodded and summoned the hourglass that contained the hair DNA of Scar that Steelbeak and Heron found to which the sample was still moving around.
"Excellent, you may proceed to resurrect Scar." Xemnas ordered.
Zira grinned excitedly while Nuka was confused but interested. Ushari watched eagerly.
The three nodded again and slammed their staffs down and began to chant the spell.
The hourglass bubbled with magic as the hair DNA began to morph around. It began to expand into the shape of a blackened being, as it began to grow legs, a tail, and a head began to form.
Everyone watched in awe, though it was hard to see on the Organization's face.
The being flew out of the hour glass and onto the ground as it began to take the form of a lion. It grew bigger and bigger. Fur sprouted around, and a mane formed around the head and the teeth grew, sharp and shiny.
Maleficent, Magica, and Sheldgoose stopped their spell as the blackened being flashed bright purple, and the blackness faded… revealing Scar, in his proper form, lying on the ground.
Zira and Nuka gasped in shock while Ushari grinned deviously.
"Yesss…" Ushari hissed.
"Is that…?" Nuka asked, almost unable to believe it.
"It-It-It is…" Zira breathed, almost bursting into a happy grinned.
Scar groaned as he began to get up, struggling as he tried to stand on his paws.
"What… what… what happened…?" Scar breathed, looking around as he blinked multiple times.
Zira broke into a smile.
"Scar!" she exclaimed, genuinely happy once more as she ran over and embraced her lover.
"Zira?" Scar gasped. "Is that really you? You... haven't changed a bit!"
Zira nuzzled Scar's black mane. "It is me... I am so happy you're back... I missed you..." she said.
Scar smiled. "I missed you too.. I wanted to recruit you for my army to attack the Pride Lands... but we couldn't find you..."
"My pride and I hid away so we could train to take back the Pride Lands." Zira replied. "Speaking of whom..." She gestured over to Nuka.
"Uh... hey S-S-Scar..." he stammered.
"Nuka? You have aged... well..." Scar said, taken aback by Nuka's further unkept appearance.
Nuka laughed sheepishly. "Yeah... termites get to ya... especially when you're not the 'chosen one'..." he said bitterly.
Ushari slithered up. "I am just as happy that you have returned Scar."
"Ah Ushari." Scar grinned. "Wonderful to see my lost loyal snake and second-in-command of my army once more."
"The pleasure is all mine Scar." the cobra replied. "I am immensssssely thankful that our superiors your spirit aquatinted us all with brought you back to the land of the living."
Scar was confused as he looked back and paused when he saw Xehanort and his allies in front of him.
"Scar. It is good to see you alive." Xehanort smiled as he greeted the now-revived lion.
Scar's eyes widened as he looked at Xehanort.
"Master Xehanort, I...you have my deepest gratitude. I cannot thank you enough, but where am I? This isn't the Pride Lands. Or even the Outlands" Scar said as he looked around.
"No, it's not, you are at our base." Young Xehanort answered.
"You have been dead for a long time now. A lot has changed." Xemnas elaborated.
"Changed?" Scar remarked as he then turned towards Zira and Nuka and after a few seconds, he realized what was wrong here. "Zira, where are Kovu and Vitani, as well as the rest of your pride?" Scar asked.
Zira was silent for a few seconds before she gritted her teeth and she closed her eyes.
"They...they betrayed us. All of them. They all now joined with Simba's pride." Zira snarled.
Scar's eyes widened with shock and confusion.
"What? What do you mean betrayed us!? Kovu was my chosen heir. He was supposed to follow in my paw-prints!" Scar exclaimed.
"I hate breaking it to you Scar, but from what Zira told me, your heir has downright fallen in love with Simba's daughter." Ushari said, slithering up.
"Not only that but in addition to Sora and his friends helping Simba stop my takeover, thanks to the words of Simba's Princess along with help from Sora, she turned Vitani and all the others of my pride against me. Nuka and I are the only ones left. I even deemed Nuka as the chosen one now that Kovu's gone." Zira said as she gestured to herself and her remaining son.
Scar stared at Zira with eyes widened. Kovu, the lion he chose to carry on his legacy, has now joined his most hated enemy.
He was silent as everyone stared at him. Scar began to breathe heavily, and not long after he roared out so loud that caused the entire area to shake. Pete, Mortimer, and Sheldgoose all had to cover their ears while the rest were unfazed.
"THOSE...THOSE TRAITORS! AFTER HAVING THEM SEE ME AS THE TRUE KING FOR SO LONG, THEY TURNED THEIR BACKS ON EVERYTHING THEY STOOD FOR! THEM TURNING AGAINST ME TO JOIN SIMBA WILL BE THE LAST MISTAKE THEY WILL EVER MAKE! I CHOSE KOVU TO CARRY ON MY LEGACY ONLY FOR HIM TO JOIN THE ONE PERSON THAT HE WAS DESTINED TO KILL! THIS WILL NOT STAND." Scar yelled out furiously.
Scar turns towards Xehanort.
"Bring me back to the Pride Lands right now, I will enact my revenge on Simba, Kovu, Sora, and all those who are with them." Scar ordered.
"I'm afraid we can't allow you to do that just yet." Young Xeahnort said as he shook his head.
"WHAT!?" Scar exclaimed with fury in his eyes.
"It pains me to tell you that you need some time to recover from being resurrected." said Ansem.
"I can assure you, I'm fine." Scar said as he took a step forward only for him to lose his balance and fall to his side.
"Well from the looks of it buddy, I say you're completely out of it" Pete commented.
"They aren't kidding, they told me the same thing when I got resurrected," Nuka said as he still tried to maintain a stand-up position.
"Rest assured Scar, you will have your chance for your revenge, but in order to do so you must follow our plan," said Xemnas.
"And what plan would that be exactly?" Scar asked in a firm voice.
"Before your resurrection, Pete and Mortimer were able to find Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed's hyena clan as well as any of your former Army of Scar followers that are still loyal to you, and brought them here." Ansem explained.
"You, Zira, Nuka, Ushari, the rest of your army, as well as a few others will be amassing an all-out assault on a specific target. We will also give you Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed to aid you." said Young Xehanort.
"I'm guessing the target is none other than Pride Rock?" Scar asked.
"No actually, it's a completely different target. Tell me, are you familiar with the Tree of Life?" Xehanort asked.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be familiar with its healing capabilities?" said Scar.
"That tree is a major threat to our plans given its healing properties. For us to achieve our goal and plunge the Pride Lands into darkness, it must be destroyed," replied Xemnas.
"And I hate to bear more bad news on you Scar, but after you were defeated, the Lion Guard left the Pride Lands for the Tree of Life for Kion to use the power of the tree to remove the venom that I gave him when I scarred him. He was able to succeed, although the scar itself is still present on Kion." Ushari explained.
Scar growled at what Ushari had told him. Apparently, the last laugh that he gave to Kion back when he was in spirit form before he perished was all for naught.
"Are Kion and the Lion Guard still at the tree?" Scar asked.
Xehanort shook his head.
"No, they are currently back at the Pride Lands which leaves Queen Rani and the Night Pride being the ones to guard the tree," said Xehanort.
"I see...hold on a minute, Queen Rani?" Scar asked with curiosity.
"Apparently, Rani's grandmother, the late Queen Janna, has passed on from the world and now Rani has assumed control as ruler of the Tree of Life. Not only that but she was only recently made queen." Magica explained with a smirk.
"Thus with the current matter, we can launch an assault on the Tree of Life and wipe it out for good." Maleficent finished.
Scar contemplated the situation. To him, it was a good plan but there was one problem with it.
"This plan could work, but how will I be able to get my vengeance on Simba if we do this?" Scar asked.
Xehanort smirked.
"Not to worry Scar, we will be able to bring Simba, Sora, Kovu, and the rest of their allies over to the Tree of Life once they find out of our attack. Having you reveal to them that you are now among the living once more, will ultimately catch them all off guard and thus you will use this opportunity to wipe them all out." Xehanort explains.
Scar, taking what Xehanort said into account, smirked at the opportunity.
"Very well then, I will take my rest and reconvene with my allies and then we will proceed with your plan. How long will it be before the attack happens?" Scar remarks.
"Recovery should take around 2-3 days at most and then we will strike." said Maleficent.
Scar grumbled to himself but due to his current circumstances, he had no choice but to follow what his allies told him.
"Alright then. At least it won't be that long then. Simba and the rest will fall one way or another." Scar remarked.
"Then I will allow you to take your leave Scar, Maleficent, and her allies will escort you to your room...however, I do wish to speak to Magica alone at this moment." Xehanort said.
The Shadow Queen raised her eyebrows when she heard her name being called out.
"Me? I assume it's something important." asked Magica.
"Indeed. The rest of you may take your leave." replied Xehanort.
"Very well then." Scar said as he, Zira, Nuka, Ushari, Maleficent, Pete, Mortimer, Sheldgoose, and Felldrake began to leave all while Magica stayed behind, but right before Scar left the area, he remembered one other thing as he turned to Xehanort.
"Master Xehanort. Out of curiosity, where is Saïx? I would've thought he would be here for my resurrection." Scar asked.
Xehanort and his vessels frowned when it came to that particular question.
"I'm afraid Saïx is no longer with us, he is now on the side with Sora and the others. But do not worry, myself, Ansem, and Young Xehanort will assist you in the coming attack." said Xemnas.
"Yeah it turns out the blue-haired man played us all like Ushari did to the Pride Lands!" said Pete.
"But unlike me, he did it to help the Guardians of Light." hissed Ushari.
Scar nodded. "I see then. Well, I'll make sure he'll die like the rest of the traitors." he said before taking his leave.
Once Scar left, Xehanort then turned to his vessels.
"Start launching small attacks on the Tree of Life to whittle its defenses that way the main attack will have a higher chance of success." Xehanort ordered. "Once that is taken care of, we will attack the Pride Lands once more with our expanded numbers."
The three versions of Xehanort nodded before teleporting off, leaving just Xehanort and Magica alone.
"So now that it's just the two of us, what did you wish to speak to me about?" Magica asked with curiosity.
"I wanted to talk to you about your recent involvement with a certain schemer." replied Xehanort.
Magica was surprised at this. "Wait, you were aware of Glomgold's plan to create his own family in order to attack Scrooge's and kill them?"
Xehanort smirked.
"Indeed, I was told of Glomgold's plan by my fellow incarnations. Not only that but I was also made aware of what the young Llewellyn Duck has done in terms of the Timephoon incident, as well as hearing from Vanitas about what Della Duck has done with her 'punishment'. I was curious about whether or not he would succeed, since we did try to broker the agreement with him using his winnings to assist me in the Keyblade War. So I observed you all from the main room in private." Xehanort explained.
"So you saw everything then? Which includes us failing to kill them." said Magica, groaning a little.
"Yes, although a part of me was irked that you, Glomgold, and the rest failed to kill the McDuck family, I was able to gather valuable intel regarding both Llewellyn and Della." Xehanort noted.
"And what intel would that be?" Magica asked.
"First with the boy, I'm not sure if you realized this Magica, but the young duck had almost fallen to darkness." Xehanort explained.
"Really? I didn't notice it myself?" remarked Magica with surprise on her face.
"I was able to sense a small dark aura coming from him as you tortured him in front of his family, the injuries combined with his newfound hatred for his mother had almost caused him to give himself up to the darkness." Xehanort said before his smile turned into a frown. "I thought I could use this as an opportunity to turn him to our side, especially after what I oversaw with him disowning his mother and brothers. However, as I looked deeper into him, a majority of his being has accepted the darkness, but a small part of it remains in the light that is trying to fight back." he further elaborated.
"What do you mean by fighting back?" Magica asked.
"Apparently, despite everything that Louie had gone through, with him now hating his mother with every part of his being, there is still a small part of him that wants to forgive and accept Della as his mother, but even he doesn't know it. That part of him is still trying to fight back against all the hatred he has in his heart." Xehanort explained.
"So there's a chance that brat could forgive Della for everything she has done." noted Magica.
Xehanort nodded before smirking.
"Yes. But the chances of that are slim. Unless that light of his gets influenced by something that will cause it to overcome all his newfound darkness, it won't be able to break through." said Xehanort.
"I see then, but what about Della then? You said you had something on her as well." asked Magica.
"Indeed. In fact, I believe you saw it yourself back when you were fighting her." Xehanort clarified.
Magica pondered to herself for a moment but then came to realize what Xehanort was trying to tell her.
"You mean, when Della unleashed a similar power to what Donald had done?" said Magica with a small hint of fear in her eyes.
Xehanort nodded.
"Yes. Marluxia and Larxene had informed me of their encounter with Della on your world's moon and the powers she displayed, similar to that of her brothers. At first, I thought nothing of it, that even with it she would just be another pawn to my plan, but after seeing it for myself during her battle against you, I underestimated the power that the young pilot could wield." Xehanort explained.
"If that's the case, then she could become just as powerful as her brother." remarked Magica.
"Indeed. The Duck Twins are both indeed mages. The Mage of Thunder activated his powers sooner than his twin. On several occasions he was able to use his full power and at the moment he's only able to use half of it at will. Nonetheless, he's proven himself a major threat to our plans. If Della reaches a similar power level to her brother, she could become a threat to my plans as well. However…Della won't be able to achieve her true power. When you fought against her she was only able to unleash only a fraction of her new mage powers. But for Della to go further than what she has now, there must be no obstacles in her way." elaborated Xehanort.
Magica pondered on this but then smirked as she came to realize what had happened.
"You mean to tell me that by destroying Della relationship with the green brat, she won't be able to achieve any further development with her powers." Magica concluded.
Xehanort smirked. "That is indeed correct. You did well in further damaging Della's relationship with Llewellyn. As long as her bond with her son is strained, she won't become any more powerful than she was when you fought her not too long ago. However, if that relationship is fixed and the two reconcile, then we could be facing a threat that is close to that of the Guardians of Light." Xehanort noted.
"So, what are we going to do about this matter?" asked Magica. "I was able to make their relationship worse but if what you said is true then they're most likely to resolve their little emotional baggage."
"We must eliminate the problem before it fixes into something that could be a threat to my plans. Which is why I want you, Glomgold, and the rest of your newfound "family" to come up with a plan to eliminate either Llewellyn or Della for good. With either of them out of the way, the relationship with the McDuck family will forever be strained which will make plunging Disney Castle into darkness more effortless." replied Xehanort.
"Of course. I assure you Master; we will eliminate the McDuck family once and for all." Magica declared with a bow, hand to her chest
"Excellent. I trust that you and the rest of your allies will succeed...however..." noted Xehanort as he summoned his Gazing Eye keyblade and pointed it directly at Magica as her eyes widened with surprise and slight fear.
"Know that I don't tolerate failure. If you and your group don't succeed then there will be dire consequences." Xehanort said in a stern voice.
Magica was frozen for a few seconds before steeling her nerves and nodding her head in acceptance of her new mission, slightly moving Gazing Eye away from her.
"Alright, alright, no need for threats Master. You can count on me." Magica assured, with a grin.
"Very good. I suggest you return to your allies now and inform them of what I just told you." Xehanort remarked.
"Yes, I will tell them right away. Thank you, Master Xehanort, I promise we will not fail you. Last time we were caught off-guard by that little green brat's cunning which I'll admit has slightly impressed. But this time, we'll be ready" Magica finished before she proceeded to leave the area.
Xehanort, after watching the Shadow Queen leave, proceeds to once again look out into the Dark City as he begins to laugh to himself.
"If only the Guardians of Light knew of what happened with the McDuck family they would've been rushing back home to help resolve the tension. But thanks to the coming attack on the Tree of Life, they won't be coming home for a long while. You and your friends have meddled in my plans for the last time, Sora. This time, I will remind you that I plan for every eventuality, which includes countering your Army of Light." Xehanort says to himself. "Soon it will be time. The Pride Lands, the Outlands, the Back Lands, and the Tree of Life will fall to darkness… and we will conquer it all."
