Chapter 4
As Naruto and the others were walking along, they were soon approached by a kid.
"Hey, you wanna battle?" the kid asked Naruto, as he pulled out a Poké Ball.
"Sure," Naruto said with a smile. "Go Nidoran!" he said, as he let out his Pokémon.
["Let's do this, I have been itching to battle"] Nidoran said, as he jumped up and down a little.
"Let's go Rattata" the boy said, as he threw a Poké Ball and let out a rat looking Pokemon.
Nidoran scoffed at this, and looked at Naruto. ["Really?"] he asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Be nice, he's obviously a newbie," Naruto said with a shrug.
["Fine, and maybe this will finally allow me to evolve"] Nidoran said with a huff, before he got ready.
"Still mad Nidorina evolved before you?" Naruto asked with a smile, as Will's Nidorina evolved this morning during training.
["Let's just do this!"] Nidoran yelled, ready to go.
Will was in between the two Pokemon as the referee.
"This battle will be one on one, with no substitutes. Ready? Fight!" she said, as she sliced her hand down.
'Naruto's Nidoran vs Boys Rattata: FIGHT!'
"Hyper Fang!" the boy yelled, hoping to end this quickly.
Rattata charged at Nidoran, his fangs glowing ready to take a bite out of its opponent.
"Jump back, and then hit him with Double Kick" Naruto said
Nidoran jumped back, expertly dogging the bite. And when he landed, he jumped high in the air, its feet glowing, as he spun and fell towards Rattata. And when he got close, he kicked Rattata once in the face and then once in the chin.
Rattata was sent flying to his trainer, with swirls in its eyes.
["Well, that was quick"] Nidoran said, with a shake of his head.
'Naruto's Nidoran vs Boys Rattata: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Nidoran!'
The boy returned his Pokémon with a frown. "How is it you beat me so easily?" he asked Naruto, as he walked over to him.
"Easy kid, I used type advantage in my moves. Normal Types are weak to Fighting Types" Naruto said with a kind smile.
"Aw man, I didn't know that" the kid said, with a pout as he hung his head.
"It's okay, you're still new. You and your Pokemon will get stronger, if you keep typing to improve" Naruto said, as he placed a hand on the kid's shoulder.
"Thanks mister. I'm glad you're not a jerk, like AJ" the boy said, as he looked at Naruto with a smile.
"Who's AJ?" Misty asked, as she and Will approached them.
"He's this trainer with an unofficial Gym. He's trying to get a hundred wins, before he goes for his own badges" the boy said to her.
Naruto gave a frown, as he could tell by what this kid said AJ was a jerk.
"Let me guess, he racks up wins from newbies like you?" Will asked, as she crossed her arms.
"I don't know, but he has 98 wins and no losses," the boy said with a shrug.
"Well I say, let's go see this guy," Naruto said with a hard look.
"Well, his gym is down this road. If you keep walking, you will get there" the boy said, as he pointed back the way he came.
"Thanks kid. Stay out of trouble, and treat your Pokemon right, ok?" Naruto said, as he patted the boy on his head.
The boy smiled and nodded, as he ran off.
Will smiled at this, as they started walking down the road.

(Later)
Naruto and his group soon approached what looked like a fenced off area, with a sign that said the gym had 98 wins and 0 losses.
Will whistled at this. "You think he's compensating for something?" she asked with a smile.
Naruto snorted at this, as he knew what Will was insinuating.
Misty blushed lightly at this. "You are so immature" she said to Will, as she tried to act grown up.
"Oh relax Waterflower" Will said with a smile, as she put her arm around Misty's shoulders.
Misty blushed a bit, at Will being so close to her.
Naruto ignored his friend's antics, and approached the large doors and knocked on them.
The doors opened, and a boy with green hair and a whip was seen. "Which of you is my next opponent?" he asked, as he rested the whip on his shoulder.
Will looked at the whip, and glared at him. "You AJ?" she asked, as she took her arm off Misty's shoulders.
"That's me, little lady," AJ said with a nod of his head.
"I'm your opponent, get to the ring" Will said, as she walked past him while giving him a shove.
AJ nodded, and followed after her.
"What's got Will so mad?" Misty asked Naruto, as they followed them.
"She hates people who go too far with training their Pokemon" Naruto said, while gesturing at AJ's whip.
"Who do you see her using?" Misty asked him, as they sat at their seats behind Will.
"Someone that will make him cry for mercy," Naruto said with a smile.
"Clefairy" Misty said with certainty, as Will's Clefairy and her thug attitude could make even an Onix flinch.
"Since you're my 99th opponent, and kind of cute, I'll let you pick first" AJ said, with a gesture of his hand.
Will growled, and pulled out a Poké Ball. "Go Clefairy" she said, while throwing it.
Clefairy appeared, and started throwing punches and a few kicks in the air.
AJ scoffed at this. "I expected better from someone who carries themselves like you do," he said to Will.
"Are you calling my Pokemon weak?" Will asked, as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"All cute Pokemon like that are pathetic, from what I have seen" AJ said with a shrug.
Clefairy gained fire in her eyes. ["Who the hell are you calling cute?!"] she yelled with fury
"Oh, he's gone and done it now," Naruto said with a facepalm. Misty could only nod in agreement, as even though she didn't understand Pokemon, she could see Clefairy was red with anger.
"You gonna pick your Pokemon, or talk trash?" Will asked with a glare.
["Yea, pick a victim for me already!"] Clefairy yelled, showing she was impatient.
"Go Sandshrew!" AJ yelled, as he threw his Poké Ball letting out his Pokémon.
"Oh dang" Naruto thought, as he saw how this Sandshrew carried itself, and saw this Pokemon was in another league.
'Will's Clefairy vs AJ's Sandshrew: FIGHT!'
"We only fight one on one," AJ said.
"Good, then let's get started. Clefairy, use Strength!" Will yelled.
Clefairy grinned, as she charged at Sandshrew.
"She's gonna lose that way" Naruto said, while watching this.
"Deflect it, and use Mega Punch,'' AJ said.
Sandshrew waited for Clefairy to approach, and when she got close he grabbed her arm, deflected her attack and slugged her hard in the stomach, sending her flying back to Will.
"What the hell?" Will asked in shocked surprise, as Clefairy got back up.
"Huh, most opponents go down for good after that move" AJ said, sounding surprised.
"Will, he's stronger than he looks. Fight smart!" Naruto said, hoping that Will took his advice.
Will nodded at him, and turned to Clefairy. "Use Metronome!" she yelled out.
Clefairy started to wave her fingers, which were glowing.
"Oh no you don't" AJ said, as he didn't want to see what move Clefairy used with that. "Fissure!" he yelled at Sandshrew.
Sandshrew raised his claw, and slammed it into the ground, making a massive fissure in the arena which caused Clefairy to fall into the fissure.

"Clefairy!" Will yelled in worry, as she ran to her Pokemon, who was knocked out.
"One hit moves are a coward's way out!" Will yelled, as she glared at AJ.
AJ gave her a smug look. "Don't blame me that you're so pathetic, you don't prepare for those moves" he said with a shrug.
"OK, I have had enough of this," Naruto said as he got up.
"What are you gonna do whiskers?" AJ asked him sarcastically.
"Someone needs to take you down a peg or two, and I'm gonna show you that even if you train hard, you aren't invincible," Naruto said, as he approached Will.
Naruto handed her a revive, and a super potion. "Here, use these to help Clefairy," he said.
Will picked up Clefairy, and took the medicine from Naruto. "Kick his ass," she said with a glare at AJ, as she went to sit with Misty.
Naruto nodded, as he took out a pokeball and threw it. "Go Haunter!" he said, as his Pokemon was released.
"What kind of pokemon is that?" AJ asked, looking bewildered.
Naruto smiled, as he found it useful that AJ didn't know what a Ghost Type looked like.
"You don't know what a Ghost Type is?! Ha!" Will yelled, as she laughed along with her healed Clefairy.
["Kick his sorry butt"] Clefairy yelled out to Haunter.
["Am I missing something?"] Haunter asked, as he looked over his shoulder at Naruto.
"They are mad that they lost to a one hit KO move" Naruto said, while pointing at Sandshrew.
Haunter smiled at this. ["Well, that won't work on me"] he said, before facing back towards Sandshrew.
"Oh yea, I know," Naruto said with a knowing smile.
'Naruto's Haunter vs AJ's Sandshrew: FIGHT!'
AJ scowled at this, and looked at Sandshrew. "Use Fissure and end this!" he yelled out, while pointing his whip at Haunter.
Sandshrew chopped at the ground again, but Haunter just floated there looking bored as he examined his fingers.
"What the?" AJ asked, looking bewildered even more along with Sandshrew, whose eyes were wide open.
"Ghost Types are immune to all physical attacks" Naruto said with a grin, which Haunter mirrored.
AJ looked shocked, as he dropped his whip to the ground.
"Let me guess; your Sandshrew doesn't know any non physical attacks?" Naruto asked, as he had a feeling this was the case.
AJ growled at this, as he knew his chances of winning were non-existent now.
"Shadow Ball" Naruto said to Haunter, wanting to end this quickly.
Haunter put his hands together, and fired a ball of darkness which hit Sandshrew, and sent him flying out of the arena, but Sandshrew forced himself back up.
"I would stay down. I don't really want to beat your Sandshrew down, when he can't hurt us" Naruto said, as he crossed his arms.
AJ sighed, and nodded. "Fine, you win'' he said as he went to Sandshrew. "You ok?" he asked his Pokemon.
Sandshrew nodded, but looked upset at his loss.
'Naruto's Haunter vs AJ's Sandshrew: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Haunter!'
"I don't blame you buddy. I should have looked up what types were immune to physical attacks" AJ said with a kind smile, as he pet Sandshrew on the head.
"Huh," Will said, surprised at seeing AJ be so kind to his Pokemon.
"Looks like he's not as bad as you thought he was," Misty said, as she gave Will a sidelong look.
"OK ok, I messed up" Will said with a scowl, at the fact she messed up. She looked at Clefairy. "Sorry I got you involved in this" she said, as she rubbed her Pokemon's head.
Clefairy waved her hand at Will. ["It's fine, this showed me I'm not all powerful"] she said.
Naruto approached AJ, and held out his hand to shake. "You have potential, but just staying here and training won't get you guys any better. So I suggest you leave, and actually go on a journey" he said to them.
AJ looked at Naruto's hand, and nodded as he shook his hand before he then turned to Sandshrew. "We leave tomorrow buddy," he said.
Naruto nodded, as he and his group left to continue their journey.

(The next day)
Naruto and his group were in a forest making camp, since the forest was full of a thick fog.
Naruto was currently making stew, with his Pokémon watching him excited to eat.
Jolteon was sniffing at the pot curiously, when Kurama stopped him.
["It won't be ready for a while, kid. Plus, that food ain't for you. Let's go train for now"] Kurama said to him, and Naruto's other Pokemon.
["Yea, I want to evolve. So let's spar newbie!"] Nidoran said to Jolteon.
Naruto looked in his bag, and pulled out something.
"Here, this should help you get the results you want," Naruto said, handing Nidoran a rare candy.
Nidoran looked at it with interest, before asking ["How long have you had that, and where did you get it?"]
"It will make you stronger, and it should be enough to get you to evolve," Naruto said. "And I took it off that rocket jerk back at Mt Moon" Naruto added.
Nidoran nodded, as he took the rare candy and ate it with gusto. When he swallowed it, he started to glow brightly and change shape and even grew a bit.
Will's Nidorina ran over, and tackled the newly evolved Nidorino with a smile.
"So, what's the plan for the next evolution?" Will asked ,as she put down some firewood along with Misty.
"Well, first you will need moon stones" Misty said, as she sat down near the campfire.
"Got that covered," Naruto said, pointing at his bag which had four moon stones inside it.
Nidorino and Nidorina looked up at this.
"Hold your horses you two. First, you should master your current forms as you might learn some moves that you can only learn as you are" Naruto said to them.
"Yup. That's why Pikachu is waiting" Will said, as Pikachu nodded from her lap.
Spearow soon came down from the sky. ["Hey, I found something!"] he said, as he flapped his wings trying to get their attention.
"What did you find?" Naruto asked his Pokémon curiously.
["I found a building, with some humans outside of it"] Spearow said, which Naruto translated to Misty.
"Should we take a look?" Misty asked.
"Yea, it's not smart to camp in an area you don't know," Will said.
"Yea. First we eat, then we go take a look" Naruto said, as he got out the Pokémon food as the stew was ready.

(An hour later)
Naruto and his group were heading towards where Spearow was doing circles above. and soon saw a big building with some teens around there age around one teen on a treadmill.
They saw the teen on the treadmill fall from not being able to run any faster, and that the other students weren't helping him up.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Will asked, as her and the others approached.
"School lessons" one boy said like it was obvious.
Naruto's eyes widened at this, and he scoffed. "Is this that Pokemon tech school for trainers that are too lazy to go on an actual journey?" he asked, as he placed his fists on his hips.
One of the students scoffed at this. "Typical for someone like you to say that, who isn't good enough to go to out school" the student told him.
"Is that a yes?" Will asked with a smirk, with her arms crossed.
Naruto laughed at this, as Misty giggled behind her hand.
"What do you know? You don't even know if we are stronger than you" one of the students said angrily.
"Good point. Ok then, I challenge your best student in your year" Naruto said, as he grabbed a PokeBall from his belt.
The boys laughed at this, while the girls were all giggling and whispering amongst themselves.
"Fine, I'll go get her. The rest of us will escort you to our arena," one of the students said, before he turned and headed into the school, while the rest guided them to the arena.
Some of the school girls were looking at Naruto, and giggling quietly or behind their hands.
Will scowled at this, and grabbed his arm feeling possessive. She gave a smile, as she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, to show the girls that he was taken.
The school girls frowned and pouted at seeing this, while inside they were crying anime tears.
"You are so immature," Naruto said to Will with a smirk, finding her cute when she was like this.
"Don't blame me. I need to make it clear to you're mine, and Misty's" Will said with a shrug, and a small smile.
This made Misty trip slightly, while some of those in hearing range were looking at them with wide eyes, along with a few blushes too.
They soon approached a building, and were led inside where they saw a big arena with seats nearby for people to watch.
"Not a bad arena, for a snob school" Will said, as the three of them looked around.
The door nearby opened, and a teen girl around there age entered. She had long black hair, and was wearing a schoolgirl uniform.
She walked over to them with a confident and cocky look, as though she already knew the outcome of the Pokemon battle.
"Well well, I wasn't told that my challenger was so cute," the girl said, looking at Naruto with appreciation.
Naruto took out his PokeBall, and held it out. "Let's just do this, I have a point to prove" he said with a hard look.
"Oooo, scary. The names Giselle cutie, and hopefully when I win, you will let me make it up to you" she said with a wink at him.
Misty started to growl at this, as she hated girls like this with a passion. "Tear her apart Naruto" Misty yelled to him.
Will blinked at this, as she had never seen Misty so mad about anything, but smiled at her. "I like this side of you" she said, as she slung an arm over her shoulder.
"Pick your Pokemon, so we can do this," Naruto said.
Giselle nodded, as she took out a PokeBall and threw it. "Graveler, go!" she said.
"Huh, I had you pegged for using just cute Pokemon," Naruto said with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm more than a pretty face. Now, let's see what Pokemon you have" Giselle said with a smile.
Naruto threw his Pokeball, and out came Mankey who was jumping up and down, showing he was eager to fight.
["Let's do this!"] Mankey yelled, as he beat his chest a few times.
Graveler smirked at this, ready to fight.
One of the students went to the middle, to act as the referee. "This will be a 3 on 3 Pokemon match, with no substitutes for either trainer" the student said. He then raised his hands up, before dropping them saying "Round One: Graveler vs Mankey, match start!"
'Naruto's Mankey vs Giselle's Graveler: FIGHT!'
"Rock Blast!" Giselle yelled out.
Graveler took a breath, and started firing rocks from his mouth at Mankey.
"Use Agility to dodge and make your way to him, while charging a Focus Punch then hit him with it" Naruto said.
Mankey nodded, as he started moving fast to easily dodge every rock that came at him.
As he made his way to Graveler, Mankey's fist was slowly starting to glow with energy. And he raised his fist to attack, as he got close.
"Headbutt!" Giselle said.
Graveler launched himself at Mankey, who jumped and flipped over his opponent. And as he flew, he turned around and slammed his fist into Graveler's back.
Graveler yelled in pain, as he was sent into the floor and made a small crater.
"And that's a win to Mankey," Naruto said with a smile, as Mankey landed back in front of him with his own smile.
'Naruto's Mankey vs Giselle's Graveler: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Mankey!'
"Huh, most Mankey's aren't that graceful," Giselle said in surprise.
"Well, we work on strategies that are unique in our spare time, '' Naruto said, as he pet Mankey on the head, before returning him to his PokeBall.
"Well, I'm glad you're actually a challenge" Giselle said, as she returned Graveler, before she threw her second PokeBall.
["Cubone!"] her Pokemon called out, as he raised his bone club.
"Aww, cute" Naruto said with a smile looking at Cubone.
"I know right?!" Giselle said with a smile.
"Are they actually becoming friends?" Will asked Misty with a raised eyebrow.
"Like hell" Misty growled out, as she clenched her hands and teeth.
Naruto pulled out a PokeBall and threw it, letting out Totodile, who was jumping and dancing happily with a toothy grin.
"Our opponent is a Johto starter, and such a cutie too!" Giselle said, as she placed her hands together in joy.
Totodile smiled, and danced even more in happiness at being complimented.
'Naruto's Totodile vs Giselle's Cubone: FIGHT!'
"Well, let's get this started. Cubone, use Leer!" Giselle said.
Cubones eyes glowed, as he glared at Totodile.
"Look away," Naruto said in warning.
Totodile covered his eyes with his paws.
"Cubone, use Bonemerang" Gisele said, while pointing forward.
Cubone threw his bone club, with all his might, at Totodile.
"Do what you do best buddy!" Naruto said with a smile.
Totodile started dancing around, and easily avoided the attack.
The students watching were bewildered at this, as they had never seen a Pokemon dodge like this before.
"OK, now get close and use Ice Fang," Naruto said, with a determined look.
Totodile danced towards Cubone, and when he got close he instantly pounced and tackled Cubone, as he bit him hard. And when he fell down, he was encased in a block of ice.
"The match is over, since Cubone can't fight back," the referee student said.
'Naruto's Totodile vs Giselle's Cubone: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Totodile!'
Giselle ran to her Pokemon worried, as Totodile let go of Cubone.
"Here," Naruto said, throwing something to Gisele.
"A full restore?" she asked, surprised as she took it and healed Cubone, before returning him to his PokeBall.
"Of course. You obviously care about your Pokemon" Naruto said with a smile at her.
"Of course I do! What did you expect, a rich snob who hated everyone?" Giselle asked with a frown.
Naruto rubbed the back of his head, with a sheepish look on his face.
"You did, didn't you?!" Gisele asked him.
"Well, with the way some of the other students treated one of the others I did," Naruto said with a sheepish shrug.
"What do you mean?" Giselle asked with a glare at hearing this, making the other students jump in fright.
"They were picking on him," Naruto said, pointing at Joe.
"You idiots were bullying Joe again?!" Giselle yelled, as those that did were shaking in terror.
"Wow, it's a female Naruto," Will said, as Naruto reacted the same way to bullies.
"I told you idiots, we help each other damn it!" Giselle yelled out, with her hands on her hips.
Naruto laughed at this. "Ok, I officially like you now,'' Naruto said, as he returned Totodile and took out another PokeBall. "Ready to finish this?" he asked with a smile.
Gisele turned to Naruto, and pulled out a PokeBall. "Time to bring out my best Pokemon" she said with a smile. She threw the ball, and in a flash of light a Jynx appeared.
"Huh, an ice and psychic type. That will be a tough one to beat" Naruto said.
Suddenly in a flash of light, Kurama popped out from his PokeBall.
["Gah I hate those things!"] he yelled, as he shook himself.
"An orange Ninetales?" the students asked, as they all started to mumble amongst themselves.
["Oh cool, a battle. I call dibs!"] Kurama yelled out, as he jumped onto the arena.
"A battle hungry Ninetales? That's rare to see" Giselle said, as even though she couldn't understand Kurama, she could tell he was eager to fight.
"This is the final match. Ninetales vs -" the student was saying, until Naruto interrupted him.
"Kurama" Naruto corrected the student.
"Aw cute, a nickname" Giselle said with a smile.
"Kurama vs Jynx, the final match fight!" he said, swinging his arm down.
'Naruto's Ninetales (Kurama) vs Giselle's Jynx: FIGHT!'
"Use Psychic!" Giselle said, as she crossed her arms.
Jynx's eyes glowed purple, and her hair started waving behind her, as she sent out a massive psychic wave at Kurama.
"Kurama, use Protect," Naruto yelled out.
Kurama nodded, as a blue barrier appeared in front of him as the wave of psychic energy hit him but did nothing.
"Ugh, that attack" Giselle said, as she found that attack annoying.
"Our turn Kurama. Fire Spin" Naruto said with a grin.
Kurama grinned as well, as he unleashed a torrent of flames which made a fire tornado that engulfed Jynx.
"Use Recover to try and lessen the damage!" Giselle yelled out in worry.
"Oh no you don't. Finish this with a Flare Blitz!" Naruto said.
Kurama charged at the fire tornado, as he engulfed himself in flames, and jumped into the tornado. He then struck Jynx hard, sending her flying out of the fire tornado.
Jynx landed at Giselle's feet, with swirls in her eyes.
"The match is over, and the winner is Naruto and Kurama," the student said, as he pointed at them.
'Naruto's Kurama (Nintales) vs Giselle's Jynx: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Kurama (Ninetales)!'
Kurama made a small flame, as he laughed at his victory. ["That's right, you better recognize my greatness!"] he yelled
"Kurama, don't be a jerk," Naruto said.
"I can't believe how strong you are," Giselle said, as she returned her Jynx.
"Don't let the loss get to you. You're a great trainer, as you actually made me have to try" Naruto said with a smile to her.
"Well, you proved your point. I can't get stronger here" Giselle said, as she crossed her arms. She then gained a determined look, before saying "Which is why I'm going on a Pokemon journey of my own!"
This caused her fellow students to look at her in surprise and shock.
"Good. I hope to see you at the Pokemon League" Naruto said, as he held out his hand to her for a handshake.
Giselle smiled, as she took Naruto's hand and shook it. "You can count on it cutie, and when we next battle I'll be the winner," she said with a smile.
Naruto gave her a smile in return, as he said "I look forward to it."
"Great, let's go!" Misty yelled, as she grabbed Naruto's arm and dragged him off.
Will followed while chuckling, as she could see Misty was jealous.

(A week later )
Naruto and his group were in front of the entrance to Vermillion City.
"Well, that didn't take long," Naruto said, as he looked around.
"Thank you Pokenav" Will said, as she gave it a kiss.
"I'm starving for some real food" Misty whined, as she rubbed her stomach.
"OK, let's get to the Pokémon Center, and get you some food. What would you like?" Naruto asked Misty, as they headed off to the Poke Center.
Misty blushed at this, as Naruto was being so nice to her. "I wonder if this is what it's like to have a boyfriend," she thought to herself.
"Well, let's hear it," Naruto said with a smile.
"And don't you say that 'I'm on a diet' crap" Will said, as she imitated Misty's voice with a grin.
"How about pizza?" Misty asked them.
"If that's what you want" Naruto said with a shrug, as he was fine with that choice.
The three of them headed for the Pokémon center.

(At the Poke Center)
Naruto and his group soon arrived at the Pokémon center, and dropped their Pokémon off with Nurse Joy for a check up.
After that, they headed for the cafeteria of the PokeCenter, which is open to all Pokemon trainers.
They grabbed a large pizza, and some drinks before finding a table to sit and eat at.
"Ah, this is the best!" Misty said with a smile, as she ate her pizza slice.
"Yea. If I had to eat camp food one more time, I was gonna snap" Will said with a nod, before biting into her pizza slice.
"Hey, you like my cooking" Naruto said, as he put his pizza slice down to have his drink.
"Yea, but you should cook more than stew honey" Will said, as she patted his cheek.
"Noted," Naruto said with a nod, as he did know more recipes thanks to his Mom.
"So, what's your plan for this badge?" Misty asked, after drinking some of her juice.
"Well, from what I have researched the gym leader here is an electric type user" Will said.
"It also helps that according to Nessa, he only has a Raichu," Naruto added.
"What kind of half assed Gym Leader does that?" Will asked with a frown.
"One that is a monster" a female trainer nearby said, getting their attention.
"Something we should know?" Naruto asked the girl, with a raised eyebrow.
"Surge is a monster, an entire wing of this Poke Center is for his opponents," the girl said with a frown.
"He puts his opponents in the hospital?!" Naruto growled out, as he clenched his hands and teeth.
"Yea, you're better off just going to other Gyms" the girl said, as she left.
"What other Gyms near here give out League Badges anyway?" Will asked.
"There are plenty of other Gyms. So far, you have been just going after the first original ones" Misty said, thanks to being a Gym Leader she was able to answer that question.
"Well yeah, these are the most challenging ones" Will said, like it was obvious.
"Maybe you should skip this gym, like that girl said," Misty said, sounding worried.
"Screw that! I'm gonna kick some ass!" Naruto said with a determined look in his eyes.
"Ditto. Me and Pikachu are gonna make Surge regret being an ass" Will said, as she raised her fist in the air.
"You plan on using Pikachu?" Misty said, as she found that surprising.
"Well, I don't have a ground type yet, so Pikachu will at least be equal to another electric type" Will said with a shrug.
"Yea, plus you two have been training hard, so Pikachu should be fine. As long as you don't act like a hot head again" Naruto said, referring to her battle with AJ.
"Yeah, I know," Will said with a nod.
"Who are you gonna use Naruto?" Misty asked him.
"Oh, that's easy, I'm gonna use Sandshrew. He's been working hard with Kurama, and he's more than ready for a gym fight" Naruto said with a confident look.
"Well, let's get going then" Will said, as they stood up from the table and headed for the desk to collect their Pokemon.
"Wait, I gotta ask. Why hasn't this Surge been reported to the League?" Naruto asked Misty, as they waited for Nurse Joy to collect their Pokemon.
"Yea, putting his opponents in the hospital can't be ok with them" Will said with a nod of agreement.
"Hmm, I suppose it's because the trainers haven't reported him," Misty said with a shrug.
"Well, that ends now," Naruto said with a hard look on his face, as he headed for the video phone nearby.
"There's no need Mr Uzumaki" Nurse Joy said, as she arrived with their PokeBalls.
"Why's that?" Naruto asked her, as he walked back over to the reception desk.
"A league representative will be showing up soon, so I would get your battles in now before they arrive," Joy said, as he and the girls collected their Pokemon.
"Then we better get going then" Will said urgently, as she turned around and ran off to the Gym.
Naruto nodded, as he and Misty followed Will out of the Poke Center.

(Vermillion Gym)
Naruto and his group were standing in front of the Vermillion Gym, ready to enter.
"Ready to do this Pikachu?" Will asked her Pokemon, who was sitting on her shoulder.
["More than ready"] Pikachu said, as his cheeks sparked to show his eagerness.
Naruto approached the Gym's doors, and opened them.
When they entered, they saw a huge man with short blonde hair standing in the middle with his arms crossed.
"Are you the gym leader?" Naruto asked him, as they approached him.
"That's me, Lt Surge. Now, which of you am I sending to the Pokémon Center, with their tail between their legs?" Surge said, with a cocky smile.
"Both of us," Will said, pointing at herself and Naruto.
"Huh, not often I get two victims at once. So, how about I battle you both at once?" Surge asked, sounding cocky.
They both raised an eyebrow at this. "And how are you going to battle us both? We heard that you only have a Raichu" Naruto said, as Will nodded in agreement.
"Easy. Me and one Pokemon, vs both of you and one pokemon at the same time" Surge said with a cocky smirk.
"Confident, aren't you?" Will asked. "And just for the record, we both know how double battles go" she told him with a glare, thinking he was treating them like little kids.
"Good, most trainers these days are idiots. Like that Oak kid I sent running a while back" Surge told them.
Naruto and Will both gave slight smirks at hearing this, glad that Gary was hopefully taken down a peg or two from his defeat.
"Just lead the way to the arena" Naruto said with a scowl, wanting to get this over with.
Surge led them to an arena, where Naruto and Will took their places at one end of the arena, while Surge was at the other end, while Misty was sitting in a chair on the side.
Naruto took out a PokeBall and threw it, letting out his Sandshrew who stood ready for battle.
"Don't think a type advantage will matter, kid" Surge said with a grin.
Naruto rolled his eyes at this, as he didn't care what Surge thought.
"What about you red?" Surge asked Will.
Pikachu jumped off Will's shoulder and into the arena, ready to fight while his cheeks sparked.
Surge laughed at this, while holding his sides.
"What's so funny?" Will asked him with an unhappy look, as she crossed her arms.
"You're using such a weak Pokemon, thinking you can win against me" Surge said, with a smirk as he threw a PokeBall, letting out his Pokémon in a flash of light.
"Of course it's a Raichu," Will said with a scowl upon seeing this.
A referee approached the arena, with two different coloured flags. "This match will be Raichu vs Sandshrew and Pikachu. No substitutes, and no time limit. Begin!" he yelled, as he waved his flags down.
'Naruto's Sandshrew and Will's Pikachu vs Surge's Raichu: FIGHT!'
"Let's start this off with a Thunderbolt, to see if you're weak or not," Surge said with a grin at Raichu.
Raichu charged up a large amount of orange lightning, and fired it wildly across the battlefield.
"Sandshrew, Dig!" Naruto said urgently.
"Pikachu, Reflect!" Will yelled out.
Sandshrew quickly dug a hole and jumped down it, while Pikachu made a clear screen in front of him.
The Thunderbolt attack struck the clear screen, and was reflected towards the roof of the arena destroying some of the lights in the process.
"Well well, looks like you will put up a fight at least" Surge said, as he and his Raichu grinned.
"Don't get cocky," Naruto said, as Sandshrew shot out of the ground near Raichu, ready to attack him.
Raichu's tail instantly wrapped around Sandshrew, and held him tight.
"Let's see how much your Sandshrew can take, shall we? Pelt him with Mega Punches and Kicks" Surge said.
Raichu grinned, as he cracked his knuckles and slugged Sandshrew in the stomach, making him cry out in pain.
"Hey! That's not fair!" Will yelled, as beating on a helpless opponent was definitely against the rules.
"Tell it to someone who cares. You want it to stop, surrender" Surge said with a shrug, as he gave a smirk.
Raichu kicked Sandshrew, making him groan in pain.
"Sandshrew, if you want out, I will surrender," Naruto yelled to his Pokemon.
Sandshrew looked up at Raichu, who was grinning and spat at him. ["I can do this all day"] he said defiantly.
Raichu glared at Sandshrew, clearly angry at what he did.
"I don't know what he said, but it's gonna cost him" Surge growled out.
"Pikachu, Volt Tackle!" Will yelled, having enough of this.
"Oh please," Surge said with a laugh. "Like a Pikachu could learn -" he was saying, but stopped when he saw Pikachu quickly charging at Raichu, with yellow electricity around him.
["Banzai!"] Pikachu yelled, slamming himself into Raichu's stomach.
Raichu kneeled over, as he held his stomach in pain as he dropped Sandshrew.
"You ok?" Naruto yelled, worried for his Pokemon.
Sandshrew got up, with a glare on his face. ["I'm not done yet"] he said determinedly.
Suddenly, Sandshrew started to glow brightly as he grew and changed shape.
When the light died down, they saw a newly evolved Sandslash in his place.
["Round 2, asshole"] Sandslash said, as he flexed his now bigger claws.
"Raichu, hit them with another Thunderbolt!" Surge yelled out.
Before Raichu could charge the attack, Pikachu jumped at him and smacked him in the face with his tail, which was glowing which sent him to the ground.
"Iron Tail?" Naruto asked Will with a grin.
"What kind of trainer only teaches their Pokemon what's easy to learn?" Will asked coyly.
"Get up!" Surge yelled, sounding worried.
"Sandshrew, use Strength then Seismic Toss!" Naruto yelled.
Sandslash grabbed Raichu by his tail, and started slamming him into the ground repeatedly.
Naruto, Will and Misty laughed at this, as Sandshrew manhandled Raichu.
"Looks like he's taking a note from Clefairy," Naruto said with a grin.
"Finish him Sandslash!" Misty yelled with a smile.
Sandslash then spun Raichu above his head, and then threw him towards Surge.
"Hey, wait a -" Surge yelled, as Raichu hit him and sent them both flying into a wall.
"The winner is Sandslash and Pikachu, sorry boss" the referee said with a shrug at Surge.
'Naruto's Sandslash and Will's Pikachu vs Surge's Raichu: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Sandslash and Will's Pikachu!'
Sandslash and Pikachu ran to their trainers, overjoyed at their win.
"Nice job, and congrats on evolving buddy" Naruto said, as he pet Sandslash on his head.
"Way to step up to that jerk Pikachu" Will said, as she hugged her Pokemon.
"This is bull crap!" Surge yelled out, as he got up.
"Tell it to someone who cares" Will said, as she parroted his words that he said earlier. "Now, hand over our badges" she said, as she and Naruto held their hands out.
"Not happening, ketchup head" Surge growled out.
"That's against the rules," Naruto said with a glare.
"Tough. Nobody will believe you anyway" Surge said, as he crossed his arms with a smirk.
"But they will believe me, since I'm a Gym Leader" Misty said, as she got up from her chair.
Surge glared at Misty and raised a hand to strike her, but Naruto grabbed his wrist stopping him.
Naruto had a look of rage on his face, as he squeezed his wrist making Surge cry out in pain. "I should break your arm for threatening someone I care about," he growled, as he squeezed even tighter, showing he could easily do it too.
"There's no need for that, Mr Uzumaki," Nurse Joy said, as she entered the arena.
"Why are you here?" Will asked curiously, with a raised eyebrow.
Joy held up a badge that had a P and an L on it.
"Oh, you are so busted" Will said with a grin at Surge, as that was a Pokemon League badge, which meant that Joy worked for the Pokémon League.
"I should still break your arm, asshole" Naruto growled out, as a light aura appeared on his body.
Misty then grabbed Naruto's free hand, making him look at her.
"Please, it's OK. The fight is over, so don't do something you will regret" Misty said with a pleading look.
Naruto looked at Misty, and saw she was really worried, and soon he let Surge go, making him fall to the floor while holding his wrist.
"You broke my wrist, you freak!" Surge yelled in pain.
"You're lucky it's not worse" Will said, as she glared at him with her arms crossed.
"Plus, you should be more scared of me," Joy said, as she approached him.
"What are you gonna do?" Surge growled out at her.
"You done as a Gym Leader for one, and second you will be lucky to keep your trainers license" Joy said, as several police officers and a Jenny arrived.
"My family has run this gum since it started!" Surge yelled, as the police cuffed him.
"That's no excuse. You are a disgrace to all Gym Leaders" Joy said, as the police led Surge away.
Raichu tried to follow, but stopped as Surge kicked out at it.
"Get lost weakling!" Surge yelled, as he was taken out through the doors.
Raichu froze at this, and looked shaken.
"Fucking asshole" Naruto said, as he went to Raichu. "You ok?" he asked him, as he placed a hand on his shoulder.
Raichu shook his head, and looked on the verge of tears. ["I don't have anywhere to go"] it said.
Naruto frowned, as he leaned down and hugged Raichu, surprising everyone. "It's OK, you can come with me," he said.
"Are you sure Naruto?" Will asked cautiously.
"He's not Surge, so he deserves a second chance Will" Naruto said to her.
["Uh actually, I'm a girl"] Raichu said nervously.
"Really? You sound nicer than when you were fighting" Will said.
["Well, Surge made me go all out at all times, or I don't eat that day"] Raichu said with a sad look.
"I should have broken his arm, instead of just his wrist," Naruto growled out.
"Here's your badges, since you technically earned them," Joy said, handing Naruto and Will a Thunder Badge each.
"And Raichu?" Naruto asked her.
"I'll leave her to you" Joy said with a kind smile, as she left the arena.
Naruto pulled out a green PokeBall, and turned to Raichu.
"Wow, you must be serious. That's a Friend Ball" Misty said with wide eyes.
"Absolutely," Naruto said while turning to Raichu. "It's up to you" he said, as he held the Friend Ball out.
Raichu looked at Naruto, and saw kindness in his eyes and smiled. She jumped at him, and headbutted the Friend Ball, which opened and sucked her into it, effectively catching her. It then vanished, as it was transported to Professor Oak's place.
"Hang on, Surge didn't technically release her, did he?" Will asked.
"When his licence is revoked, his Pokemon are instantly released" Misty said to her.
"Oooohhhh" Will said with realisation, as she gave a nod.
"Well, let's get going. Pikachu, Sandslash and Raichu head up, and we can go over what our plan is next" Naruto said to his friends.
Will and Misty nodded, as they left the now closed down Gym.
Naruto turned to Joy as they left the Gym, and asked her "What will happen to the Gym now?"
"It will be closed, until we can find a replacement Gym Leader" she told him.
Naruto gave her a nod, and said "Hope that you find a good replacement."
Joy nodded in agreement, as she replied "Me too."

(With Surge)
Surge was in the back of a police truck, locked up and cuffed to a chain connected to the floor.
Suddenly the truck stopped, and Surge heard what sounded like fighting from the front of the truck.
He then saw the doors to the back of the truck being ripped off by a Machamp, showing a group of Team Rocket grunts.
"Lt Surge?" one if the grunts asked, as he stepped into the back.
"That's me," Surge said, as a grunt had his Machamp break him free.
"Our boss has heard of your problems, and wishes to make you an offer" the grunt said.
"I'm listening," Surge said with an interested grin.

(With Naruto)
Naruto and his group were outside the Poke Center, looking at a map.
"Looks like it's a long way to the next Gym" Naruto said, as he scratched his chin.
"And you have several options too," Will said, pointing out two cities on the map.
"Celadon and Saffron," Naruto said.
"I would wait until you're stronger, before you try to go after the badge in Saffron" Misty said with a frown.
"And why is that?" Will asked her.
"Apparently the gym leader there, Sabrina, is just as ruthless as Surge. But it's way worse with her, because of the type of Pokemon she specializes in" Misty said to them.
"What type?" Naruto asked, as he put away the map.
"Psychic," Misty said.
"Oof, those can be a problem. Even with your Haunter" Will said, looking at Naruto.
"Yea, just one Pokemon is never a guarantee of winning" Naruto said, as he nodded in agreement.
"Best to head to Celadon first. And you can train on the way, maybe even catch a few Pokemon that can help you too" Misty said.
"Best plan is to head for either a cave nearby, to head for Lavender town or take a ship," Naruto said, as he folded his arms over his chest.
"Ship" Will and Misty said flatly, as they hated caves after the Mt Moon incident.
"With what money? There is no way we can afford ship tickets" Naruto asked with a deadpan.
"Well, we could head for the beach that's here, and find a Water Pokemon to take us," Misty said with a shrug.
"To carry 3 people? Pokemon that big are rare in the wild Mist" Will said, trying out a nickname for Misty.
"Hold on, my Pokedex can tell me what wild Pokemon have been spotted in the area. Maybe we can get lucky" Naruto said, as he took out his Pokedex.
Will and Misty waited, and watched Naruto fiddle with his Pokedex for a few minutes, before he smiled in satisfaction.
"Something good?" Will asked.
"How does a Lapras sound?" Naruto asked, showing them the alert on his Pokedex.
"That sounds perfect to me, as they are known as the transport Pokemon" Misty said with a nod.
"Well, let's get to the beach. Something this rare won't be around forever" Naruto said, as he ran off with the girls following after him.
They soon arrived at the beach, which was a fair distance from the city.
As they looked out at the sea, a transport truck drove past them, almost hitting them.
"Hey watch it, ya Sunday driver!" Will yelled with a scowl, as she shook her fist.
"What would have them in such a rush?" Misty asked curiously.
"Let's find out," Naruto said, as he and the girls ran after the truck.
When they approached the top of a small hill, they saw the truck parked near the beach with 4 guys trying to push an adult Lapras into the back of the truck.
The Lapras was crying out, and shaking its head as it sent one of the men flying with one of its flippers.
The man got up, and glared at Lapras as he dusted himself off. "Fine, you want to have an attitude" he said, as he pulled out a shock baton and turned it on.
"Hey!" Will yelled, fury on her face as she ran over. "What the hell is your problem?!" she yelled, as she got in one of the men's faces.
"Mind your own business, we found this Lapras first" the man said with a scowl.
"So capture it like a real trainer then" Naruto said, as he and Misty ran over.
"We aren't trainers, we just want to sell this Pokemon to Team Rocket. They will pay a fortune for a rare Pokemon like this" one of the men said.
One of them facepalmed, and said "Nice going Frank, ya stupid moron."
Frank looked sheepish, as he said "Uh, sorry about that boss."
Will glared even harder, and took out two PokeBalls and let out Clefairy and Pinsir.
Clefairy looked at Lapras, who was still calling for help. ["Ok, who's the asshole?!"] she yelled out.
"They want to sell her to Team Rocket," Will said.
["SAY WHAT?!"] Pinsir yelled, clearly upset, surprising Will and Naruto.
Pinsir tackled one of the guys to the ground. ["You think it's OK to sell Pokemon to those monsters?!"] he yelled.
Suddenly, Naruto's Scyther popped out of his PokeBall. ["Where is Team Rocket?!"] he yelled, waving his arms about, ready to cut something.
"These bastards are trying to sell this Lapras to -" Naruto was saying, before Scyther pounced at the men, along with Pinsir.
"Jeez, they really hate Team Rocket" Will said, as they watched Pinsir and Scyther attack the men.
"Run away! These Pokemon are psycho!" one of the men yelled, as they all ran off, even with a few wounds on them.
Naruto approached the two Pokemon, who were still huffing in anger. "Ok, what the hell was that?" he asked them, as he crossed his arms with a questioning look.
["We hate Team Rocket"] Pinsir said, with Scyther nodding in agreement.
"Obviously, I'm just wondering why though," Naruto said.
["Why not? You don't like them either right?"] Scyther asked him.
"Well yeah, but you two just attacked with pure hate. And me and Will want to know why" Naruto said.
["Why do you care?"] Pinsir asked him.
"We are your trainers, and hopefully someday your friends. So it's our job to care about you" Naruto said to them, as Will walked up to stand next to him.
Pinsir and Scyther looked at Naruto and Will, who nodded at them to let them know she agreed with Naruto.
["We were captured as hatchlings, and raised to be fighters for them"] Scyther said.
Naruto scowled at this. "And you guys got away?" he asked.
The two Bug Pokemon nodded at this.
"No wonder you two were bullies when we found you" Will said, as she approached Pinsir and held out her hand to him.
Pinsir looked at her hand for a moment, before he looked Will in the eyes and saw something he hadn't seen before; kindness.
He then leaned into her hand, and let her pet his head
Will smiled, as she pet Pinsir who closed his eyes as he liked this very much.
Scyther watched this surprised, but before he could say anything Naruto patted him on the shoulder, which made him turn to him.
"Don't worry, we are nothing like Team Rocket," Naruto said with a kind smile.
Scyther saw that this was the truth, and nodded at him.
After the two Bug Pokemon had calmed down and went back to their Pokeballs, Will turned to look at Lapras.
"You ok?" Will asked the Water Pokemon.
["Yes, I'm fine. Can you get me to the water?"] Lapras asked her.
"Well, I was hoping to catch you, so we can travel around by sea. But if you want to go, we can get you in the sea" Will said.
["You want to catch me?"] Lapras asked her, with a quirked eyebrow.
"Sure, you're a cool Pokemon," Will said.
Lapras looked at Will, and thought about what Will did to those mean humans, and how she comforted Pinsir. ["Ok, I can see being your Pokemon"] Lapras said with a smile, and a nod.
Will smiled, and took out her own Friend Ball, and tapped Lapras on the head instantly catching her, before her Friend Ball vanished as it went to Professor Oak's lab.
"We should head for the Pokémon Center for the night" Misty said, as she pointed out that the sun was setting.
"Yea, we can head out to sea in the morning," Naruto said with a nod, as they headed for the city.
