Hearing someone knocking on his front door Del blinked.
"Huh wonder who that could be?"
Getting up from the sofa Del walked to the front door before opening it to see a woman around his own age of Hispanic descent wearing a green Beanie hat, a long green dress with what appeared to be a green vest like top underneath.
"Um, do I know you miss?"
The young woman just rolled her eyes before holding up her right hand showing him a green ring.
"Sorry Jessica the lack of glowing green highlights threw me off, please come in"
"It's fine that's the whole point of the green highlights most people focus on that and not my face structure, and please call me Jess"
Nodding Del shut the door while following Jess back into the living room.
"Please take a seat. Can I grab you anything tea, coffee?"
Sitting down Jess shook her head "no thank you I'm here to fill in some blanks from yesterday"
"Ok," Del replied while sitting back down on the sofa "so what can you tell me?"
"I sent a message off to the Guardian's yesterday the good news is that a blue lantern was on Oa,"
"Oa?"
"The home planet of the Guardians as I was saying a blue lantern was there so he has agreed to come to Earth to get you trained up"
"That's great," Del grinned, making Jess smile.
"In the meantime I got permission to bring you to the watchtower and show you around while we wait for him to get here"
"Cool, do I need to grab anything?"
"No," Jess shook her head "we can teleport straight up"
Grinning Del quickly made sure his back and front doors were locked before stopping by Jess in two flashes of green and blue both were in costume before Jess tapped her ear.
"Green lantern and guest ready to transport"
Del blinked spots from his eyes then had to do a double take seeing the earth through the window of the station.
"Whoa"
"Yeah that view never gets old," replied Jess with a grin on her face "anyway come on once we have done the tour we can grab some food and meet a few people I think you'll recognise"

Del had to admit the Justice league had a nice set up of several different areas for people to train in, a full gym and swimming pool, different machine shops, a laundromat, several different bed rooms available for those who need somewhere to stay or just crash for a few hours rest.
"And this is the cafeteria"
Following Jess in Del blinked seeing the earth through a window again causing Jess to guide him over to a table where two other young ladies were sitting.
One was a redhead with bright blue eyes in a black bodysuit with a yellow bat on her chest, a yellow belt, yellow gloves and boots and a yellow lined cape.
The other was a blond also with bright blue eyes wearing a short red skirt, red boots, a midriff baring blue top with a very familiar shield on it and a red cape.
"Holy shit it's Batgirl and Supergirl"
This had Batgirl snort while Supergirl laughed outright
"Oh god," Del groaned "I said that out loud didn't I?"
Still laughing Supergirl just nodded
Banging his head on the table Del just moaned "just kill me now"
This had Batgirl and Jess join Supergirl in laughing.
"It could be worse," Supergirl offered once she stopped laughing "I've had guys our age and younger blurt out offers of marriage before"
"Ok fanboy shock moment over pleasure to meet you ladies I'm blue lantern"
Offering his hand he shook hands with the two heros.
"Nice to meet you blue lantern so care to tell us a little about yourself?"
Del just shrugged "not much to tell I grew up with both my parents, in a small town in England you've probably never heard off. I recently got my own place and I'm currently looking for a job."
Jess tapped her ear "go ahead Jonn, ok we'll meet him there," tapping her ear again Jess turned to Del "the other Blue Lantern is here we can meet him in training room four."
Nodding Del finished his food "pleasure to meet you both ladies."
"We should hang out sometime, bring him to Gotham next time you're in the area Jess." Shaking both ladies' hands again Del followed Jess out the door to training room four.

Entering training room four Del paused as he saw a bipedal elephant-like alien who reminded him of the Hindu elephant god dressed in a robe-like uniform with a sash around his waist coloured like his own suit.
Shaking himself Del approached his fellow Blue Lantern.
"Hello thank you for coming to help train me"
The alien then bowed and spoke in a language Del didn't understand
"Um sorry I didn't understand that"
"He said greetings, my name is Brother Warth welcome to the Blue Lantern Corps and then asked your name" Jess translated, "shouldn't his ring translate for him like mine does?".
Brother Warth replied in a different sounding language.
"I'm going to guess that was along the lines of yes it should," shaking himself Del bowed back to Brother Warth "greetings Brother Warth I'm Del, any idea why my ring isn't translating for me?".
Brother Warth stroked his trunk before answering.
"He said try checking your ring settings".
Shrugging Del held his ring up "settings".
A blue window was projected from the ring with several different options sadly it was still in a language he couldn't read.
"Please tell me you can read this Jess?"
"Yes I can just a moment" after a few moments Jess pointed at one of the options "ok that one is default language so try tapping that".
Reaching out with his left hand Del tapped it but didn't see any other options.
Jess grumbled before rubbing her hand down her face while Brother Wrath walked over and grumbled something.
"Ok it looks like your ring has no other languages loaded in it so we need to find the update option swipe the screen left for a moment please" doing as asked Del waited as Jess and Brother Warth looked through the options after a few moments Brother Warth pointed to a option which Del pressed which caused his ring and Brother Wrath's to glow blue while Jesse's glowed green.
"I'm guessing that was the update option?"
"Yes your ring is pulling all the data from our rings while it's doing that hit the third option from the top it will enable verbal commands"
Hitting the option Del blinked as his ring flashed a few times.
"Ok, let's try this change default language to English" the window disappeared before repairing now in English.
"Can you understand me now?"
"Yes thank you Brother Wrath, any idea why my ring was set up like that?"
"None I'm afraid and please just call me Wrath"
"Ok thank you Wrath I think I might have to go through all those options later but for now I suppose we should get on with some training while you have time to help me."

TWO MONTHS LATER
Del stretched; it had been a hectic two months training during which he had learned to change his suits appearance so he could now change it to look like he had a doctor's coat on over the top.
He had also learned how to fly properly, launch energy blast's and much to his and Jesse's shock that he could heal people if Jess or another Green Lantern was nearby. Which was why the pair of them were now standing in a private room in a children's cancer ward with a very pale, bald and weak looking young man in a bed with both his parents, and several doctors.
"And you're sure this won't hurt the child in question?" the doctor in charge of the ward asked an older man who's name tag identified him as Dr. M. Sloan.
"Nope, might feel a bit funny but wont hurt"
Doctor Sloan sighed "ok we have written and verbal permission so please proceed"
Nodding Del approached the bed "hey I'm blue lantern what's your name?"
"Billy, can you really make anything with your ring?"
"Tell you what Billy you watch while my friend Green Lantern makes some things with her ring while I heal you ok".
Billy turned and focused on Jess who started with making a pogo stick with her ring while Del's ring glowed and enveloped Billy in blue light once the glow faded Billy looked much less pale his hair had even starting to grow back.
"Wow I don't feel sick and weak anymore" both of Billy's parents hugged him tight while his mother started to cry.
Moving back to give the family some privacy Del stood by the window with Jess and Doctor Sloan.
"We will have to run tests and keep him under observation for a while be sure the cancer doesn't come back but if you have cured him"
"Billy should be completely cancer free, so once you have the all clear can I start helping other kids?"
"Yes in fact I intend to try and get everything lined up for you to help other kids as soon as we can I have seen far too many young lives lost to cancer not too"
Del snorted "just think we haven't even tried to regrow any ones lost limbs yet"
