Kingdom Hearts: The Dalmatian Bodyguard
Chapter 1: Day before the End
Next thing Dolly knew she was waking up to her best friend, Roxy Rottweiler, licking her face. She looked around and saw she was back in the park of Camden Town, London.
Dolly: (Disoriented) Roxy? What happened?
Roxy: Don't know. You were skating by then fell unconscious here.
Dolly looked around and saw her skateboard nearby, her helmet leaning against a tree, and her in the bushes. She doesn't remember crashing before her dream.
Dolly: I… I must have been disoriented. (Getting her stuff) I'm heading home.
Roxy: So soon? But you just got here.
Dolly sighed with guilt. Roxy had been her best friend since they were little.
Dolly: I'm sorry. I just had a strange dream and… I just need to think about what happened.
Dolly started to skate out of the park. Just as she got to the entrance, she saw a small green ball. She stopped and picked it up and the only thing on it was number 221. Dolly looked at it then put it in her collar for safekeeping. She left and skated right up to her house.
Dolly: Come on, Dolly. It was just a dream.
Dolly touched her paw on the door scanner and the door opened. Inside were 97 Dalmatian all playing energetically around the house, these were her brothers and sisters. Dolly walked and shut the door as her stepbrother, Dylan Dalmatian came on a vacuum.
Dylan: There you are, Dol… (Seeing his sister's confused expression) You okay, Dolly? You don't look like your normal self.
Normally, Dolly would be smiling and going with the flow. But no matter how much she wanted to, she couldn't shake her dream out of her mind.
Dolly: I… (Lying) I just had a bad experience earlier.
Dylan: Oh, you okay?
Dolly: Honestly… I think I need to lay down.
Dylan: Okay. You go lay down and I'll tell mom & dad you're not doing so well.
Dolly: Thanks.
Dolly walked upstairs into a room with a window to the backyard.
Dolly: (Looking at her strange ball) It was so strange. What was that dream about? (Shaking her head) Come on, Dolly. It was just a dream. (Putting the ball back into her collar) Next thing you know, you'll start saying 'The End is Nigh' like Dante.
Dolly laughed at the idea of her being like one of her little brothers. Dolly curled up in a sunny spot and lay there. Hours passed and soon the Dalmatian parents, Delilah and Doug, soon arrived.
Doug: Honeys, I'm home.
The puppies all piled onto their father, happy he's home.
Delilah: (As Dylan walked up to her) Any important happen today, Dylan?
Dylan: Dolly was acting weird today. She went out to meet up with Roxy but came home… Drained.
Doug: (With all the puppies still on him) Dolly, drained?
Delilah: I'll go examine her.
Dolly was still in the spot she was in and hadn't left the room. All she did was stare at the ball or think about her dream. Who was that voice? What key was it in of protection? Why her of all Dogs? Suddenly, Delilah found her.
Delilah: Everything okay, sweetie?
Dolly jumped in fright.
Delilah: Sorry. Didn't mean to startled you.
Dolly: (Panting) I was… Just caught off guard.
Delilah: Dylan said you weren't feeling like yourself. What happened?
Dolly felt like she had to tell someone the truth. She told Delilah everything she remembered about her dream… At least the parts she could explain.
Delilah: That does sound like a fright.
Dolly: I know it was a dream but… It felt like a message.
Delilah: Can't actually give a professional opinion since it's not my area of expertise. Might just be your mind playing tricks on you. Why don't you come down for dinner?
Dolly: No, thanks. I just need some time to think.
Delilah saw her daughter was really out of it. She left and came back later with a bowl of kibble that Dolly ate. Night soon came and Dolly didn't feel any better. She was so confused; She couldn't fall asleep. She decided to check on her siblings. She found everyone fast asleep. When she got to her baby sister, Dorothy, she found a man dressed in black brushing her.
?: So young and innocent. Ignorant of the dangers ahead.
Dolly was about to scream to wake everyone up, but the stranger stopped her.
?: I came here to speak. Let me say my piece and I'll leave.
Dolly relaxed but remained alert.
?: Funny thing fate is. In other places, there are stories to tell. Some are amazing, others cruel. But most start with a dream.
Dolly's eye shrunk, remembering her dream.
?: I wonder what is in store for you.
The stranger snapped his fingers and somehow Dolly fell asleep fast. The stranger left without waking any of the pups up. Dolly had no idea that this night was the last time she'd be with her family for a long time.
