Chapter 3: Keyblade and Yubashiri
Dolly lay unconscious in an alleyway until Sparky, still holding Roxy's dog collar, started licking her awake.
Dolly: (Giggling) Okay, Sparky. I'm awake.
Dolly started wiping the drool off her cheek, that's when she felt absolutely no fur on her face. She looked at her right paw… and it was a hand. She looked down at her body and she was wearing an orange t-shirt with blue skate patterns under a black & white leather jacket, tan cargo shorts with Yubashiri strapped to her waist, and brown tennis shoes. Seeing a puddle of water nearby, Dolly scrambled over to see her reflection. Much to her surprise, she was turned into a human.
Dolly: I'm a… Human?!
Before Dolly could scream or Sparky stopping her from screaming, Dolly saw a boy about her age unconscious. He had spiky red hair, a red jumpsuit and puffy shorts with a black and white jacket overtop, large yellow shoes, white fingerless gloves with yellow and blue, and a silver crown necklace. This was Sora. Dolly scrambled over to him to see if he was alright.
Dolly: (Gently slapping him) Hey, wake up. Come one. Wake up.
Sora began to wake up and see Dolly in front of him, his blue eyes were barely open.
Dolly: You okay?
Sora: Oh, what a dream.
Dolly struggled to wake him up.
Sora: This isn't a dream!
Dolly: Nope. This is real life.
Sora got to his feet and Dolly followed him, only to stagger back. Sora caught her before she hit the ground.
Sora: You okay?
Dolly: (Struggling to maintain her balance) Yeah, just use to walking this way yet.
Sora: (Seeing his surroundings as Sparky came up) Where am I? (Looking at Dolly) Do you know where we are?
Dolly: Nope. Neither does Sparky.
Sparky: Naga.
Sora: We better look around.
Dolly: Okay, just help me walk for a bit.
Sora: Alright. My name is Sora.
Dolly: Dolly Dalmatian.
Sora: (Confused) Like the dog breed?
Dolly: Yeah. And he's Sparky.
Sparky: Aloha.
Sora helped Dolly walk out of the alleyway. When they turned the corner, they saw an entire town under the night sky.
Sora: Guys, this might sound weird but I think we're in another world.
Dolly: I think you're right. This doesn't feel like my hometown. How about you, Sparky?
Sparky: (Shaking his head no) Naga.
Dolly looked behind them and saw a store behind them.
Dolly: Guys, there's a store behind us. Maybe someone there can give us directions.
Sora: Good idea.
Sora let go of Dolly and she started standing fine. She took a step forward and started walking fine. The trio walked into the store and found a middle-aged man in white and blue clothes chewing on a toothpick.
?: Hey there, how can I… Aw, it's only a couple of kids and a dog.
Sparky: Bark!
Sora: We're not kids! I'm Sora and she's Dolly!
Dolly: Sora, calm down.
?: Yeah, meant nothing by it. (Noticing their uneasy expressions) Why the long face, you two? Lost or somethin'?
Sora: Kind of. Where are we exactly?
?: Traverse Town.
Dolly, Sora, and Sparky looked at each other, confused.
Dolly: You were right, Sora. Can you tell us your name, Gramps?
?: Don't call me gramps! The name's Cid.
Sora: Thanks for telling us where we are. (Starting to leave) I gotta find my friends, Riku and Kairi.
Dolly: (Walking up to Sora) I'll come with you. I might be able to find my family with you.
Sparky said something in his normal language, Tantalog, saying he's coming too.
Dolly: I don't know what Sparky said, but I guess he's in too.
Cid: Good luck, kids. If you run into trouble, you come to me. But there's a fella here in town named Stone that might give you some help. He wears white & red armor and carries a rifle. Can't miss him.
Dolly: (Leaving with the others) Thanks, Cid.
After leaving the store, the trio started asking around townsfolk on any newcomers. After asking everyone and getting absolutely no success, they walked through a door close to the store to another are of the town called 'Second Distract'. As they walked through, they saw a man fall to the ground. From his chest, what looked like the man's heart floated out and entered an orb. Out from the orb came a Shadow, but it looked different. It wore what looked like a helmet and standard clothes with stars. This was a Soldier. The Soldier vanished as it appeared as the trio came. Suddenly, Shadows surrounded the trio.
Sora: It's the creatures from my island!
Dolly: (Drawing Yubashiri) And from Camden Town!
Dolly was about to order Sora to get behind her when he summoned a strange weapon. The base of it looked like a sword, but the blade was silver with what looked like Key Teeth in the shape of a crown and the guard is bright gold with a long silver keychain with a token of some kind of mouse. This was the Kingdom Key Keyblade.
Sora: (Ready to fight) Let's take them together!
Dolly smiled that her new friend was willing to fight as Sparky growled, ready to fight.
Dolly: (Charging) Bow-Whacka-Wow!
The trio struck down the Shadows but soon more came along with Soldiers. Sparky saw a hotel and pointed to it.
Sora: We got to get out of here! Follow Sparky!
The duo followed Sparky inside the hotel. Just as they got inside, two very strange individuals came in. One was a anthromorphic duck wearing a royal blue magician vest & matching hat with golden cuffing and a staff with a wizard's hat piece attached to it and the other was a anthromorphic dog wearing baggy pants, a bright green shirt under dark green vest and white gloves, a hat with some goggles attached to it, and a shield with a mouse logo on it strapped to his back. These were Donald Duck and Goofy.
Goofy: Doesn't look like he's here.
Donald: Keep looking.
Meanwhile, the trio used the back alley to get back to the First District. They leaned against Cid's shop, hoping to breathe for a minute.
Sora: (Panting) Dolly, you know those things?
Dolly: (Panting) Yeah. I fought them before I got here in my home of Camden Town. You?
Sora: (Panting) My home, Destiny Island.
Sparky then said someone was coming.
?: They'll come at you out of nowhere.
Sora: (Everyone preparing to fight) Who are you?
A man wearing black and white clothing, a sliver necklace of a lion with his clothes has the same logo, brown hair, green eyes, and a scar going down between his eyes came out from the corner.
?: And they'll keep on coming at you and your friends. (Pointing to Sora's weapon) As long as you continue to wield the Keyblade.
Dolly: (Mentally) Keyblade. Is that what I'm suppose to protect?
?: But why? Why would it choose a kid like you?
Sora: (Over Sparky growling and threatening shocks) Hey, what's that supposed to mean?
Dolly: (Spinning Yubashiri) Got something to say, say it.
?: Never mind. (Walking forward) Now, let's see that Keyblade.
Sparky fired a warning bolt and the man stopped.
Sora: What?! There's no way you're get this!
Dolly: Back off unless you're looking for a fight!
The man brought out a weapon that looked like a combination of a gun and a sword with the same lion logo as a keychain.
?: Have it your way.
The man jumped and prepared to cut the trio, but they rolled out of the way. Dolly rushed at him, but the man swatted her away. Sora came at him from behind, but he kicked him to the ground. Sparky charged himself as electricity to act as a living projectile, but he shot him down. The guy kept swatting them down like flies when they attacked separately.
Dolly: (Whisper) Sora, got an idea. If the three of us attack at the same time, he'll only be able to counter one of us.
Sora: I'm game.
After getting Sparky in on the plan with an additional move, they sped around the stranger. He fired at them but they were moving too fast to get hit.
?: This your plan? Hope I give up?
Sparky surged a fired electricity at both the blades.
Sora: No, this is!
The trio fired the electricity at once and he got hit hard enough that he collapsed to his knees. The trio smiled at their success but collapsed in exhaustion.
?: Hey, you found it. Nice going, Leon.
A girl in short clothing stood behind the now identified Leon.
Leon: Still… It looks like things are worse than we thought. Worse that Master Yen Sid's failsafe had to be used.
