Kingdom Hearts: The Dalmatian Bodyguard
Chapter 4: All for One, One for All
Far off in another place, someone was waking up. He wore blue baggy pants with black & white tennis shoes and a yellow shirt with black gloves, his silver hair flowed freely as he opened his gray eyes. This was Sora's childhood friend, Riku.
Riku: Where am I? (Screaming in hopes his friends were near) SORA! KAIRI!
He looked down disheartingly, completely unaware someone untrustworthy was watching him. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy were still looking for the Key.
Goofy: Gawrsh, there's nobody here. Sure is spooky.
Donald was unphased by it.
Donald: Aw, phooey. I'm not scared.
Just as Donald said that someone tapped his shoulder. Donald was so startled, he jumped into the air and landed on Goofy's shoulder.
?: Excuse me. Did the king send you?
? (Male voice): He told me I'd find my new General here.
Donald & Goofy turned around and saw the solider Cid described with a woman in a nice pink dress. Meanwhile, Dolly was still out cold until Sparky started licking her awake. Dolly giggled as she woke up. Her smile left her when she saw Sparky had Roxy's collar. Her heart ached badly that she was so far from home… If her home was still there. She saw her sword leaning next to Sora's weapon as Leon came.
Sora: The Keyblade.
The girl, now identified as Yuffie, explains.
Yuffie: Yeah, we had to get it away from you to shake off those creatures. It turns out that's how they were tracking you and your buddies.
Dolly picked up Sparky and stumbled over to Sora.
Leon: It was the only way to conceal your heart from them. But it won't work for long. (Taking the blades) Still hard to believe that you of all people are the chosen one. (Pointing to Dolly while Sparky was picking his nose with his tongue) And that your suppose to protect him.
The Keyblade and Yubashiri immediately teleported back to Sora and Dolly respectively.
Leon: Well, I guess beggars can't be choosers.
Sora and Dolly had had enough riddles and half-truths.
Sora: Why don't you start making sense? What's going on here?
Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy were getting the rundown by the girl the met.
?: Okay, you know there are many other worlds out there besides your castle and this town, right?
Donald: Yeah.
Goofy: (Covering his mouth) But they're supposed to be a secret.
?: They've been a secret because they've never been connected… Until now. When the Heartless came, everything changed.
Sora's group: The Heartless?
Yuffie: The ones who attacked you, you remember?
Dolly: Those creatures?
Leon: Yes. Those without hearts.
Yuffie: The darkness in people's hearts… That's what attracts them.
Leon: And there is darkness within every heart.
Dolly sighed deeply, thinking this was a lot to take in.
Yuffie: Hey, have any of you heard of someone named Ansem?
Donald and Goofy were asked the same question.
Goofy: Ansem?
?: He was studying the Heartless. He recorded all of his findings in a very detailed report.
Goofy: Gawrsh, uh, can we see it?
?: Its pages are scattered everywhere.
Donald: Scattered
?: (As Stone stood guard of the door with his MK II Paladin blaster rifle in his hands) To many worlds.
Goofy: Oh, then maybe the king went to find them.
?: Yes, those were my thoughts exactly.
Goofy: Then we got to find him quick.
But Donald protested to his friend's plan.
Donald: Wait! First we need that "Key"!
?: That's right. The Keyblade.
Stone: The King actually found me a while back and gave me a personal mission. I am to follow the Keyblade Wielder as his personal soldier.
Meanwhile, Sora and company were piecing together their parts.
Sora: (Examining his weapon) So… this is the key?
Yuffie: Exactly.
Leon: The Heartless have great fear of the Keyblade. That's why they'll keep coming after you no matter what.
Dolly: Why am I suppose to protect Sora?
Leon: An old master feared the darkness would be too strong, so he magically reforged our blade and bound it to the Keyblade. Whoever has the Keyblade is the person your suppose to protect.
Sora: Well, I didn't ask for this.
Dolly & Sparky: Me neither/Naga.
Yuffie: The Keyblade and Yubashiri choose their masters. And they chose the two of you respectively.
Leon: So tough luck.
Sora: How did all this happen?
Dolly: That's what I'd like to know, too.
Sora: I remember being in my room… (Realizing something important) Wait a minute! What happened to my home? My island? Riku? Kairi?
Dolly: And Camden Town? My family? Roxy?
Leon sighed, knowing this was something he couldn't lie about.
Leon: You know what? I really don't know.
Sora and Dolly felt bad. Everyone and everything they knew and loved was lost. Dolly noticed a small, brown mouse scurry by.
Sora: Come on, Dolly. We'll just have to find our homes and loved ones. (Turning to Sparky) Wanna come with us, Sparky?
Sparky: Ih!
Dolly: It means yes. (Having a small smile) I'm in, too.
Leon: Okay. We'll take you to Aerith. She should be there by now with the other visitors.
Dolly: Great. More help, the better.
Suddenly, Heartless appeared in the room.
Leon: Yuffie, go!
Yuffie ran out a door, which squished Donald against the wall.
Aerith: Yuffie!
Leon drew his blade as the others drew their weapons. Dolly saw the mouse from before hiding behind her left shoe.
Leon: Everyone let's go!
Leon smashed open a window for everyone to escape through. On an instinct, Dolly scooped up the mouse and rushed to catch up with the others. Comedically, Goofy and Stone watched as the moved and showed a surprised Donald as flat as a piece of paper.
Leon: Don't bother with the small fry. Find the leader!
Sora and company followed Leon as they ran pass the Heartless.
Dolly: (Barely holding them back with Sparky) These guys don't let up!
Sora: (Striking one down) Just keep moving.
Dolly moved her mouse passenger to her pants pocket as they rushed their way to the Third Distract. As they went forward Donald, Goofy, and Stone came in via a balcony. They turned around and found Soldier Heartless blocking their path.
Goofy: (Drawing his shield) Gawrsh, are these the Heartless guys?
Stone: (Readying his rifle) I think so. (Giving Goofy one of his DC-17 Hand Blasters from his holster) Here, take this.
Goofy: Thanks.
Donald: (Grabbing his staff) Let's go get 'em, guys!
Donald fired his magic, which backfired and sent them flying right into Sora and his companions. Everyone was sore and disoriented.
Donald, Goofy, and Stone: The key!
Suddenly, all the exits were blocked and Heartless surrounded the group.
Dolly: Let's save the introductions for later. We got company!
The Heartless charged the group and they dealt with them too quickly. Sparky said that it was too easy.
Sora: If you're saying that was too easy, you're right.
Everyone heard the sound of metal banging against each other. Everyone looked up and saw a giant Heartless that looked like a living suit of armor, only the arms and legs were floating separately from the body. This was the Guard Armor. Sora took a small step back, a little scare of its size, but Dolly placed her hand on his left shoulder and gave him a comforting smile.
Sora: Okay, let's take it down!
Sora rushed at the Guard Armor. It threw a swipe with its left arm at Sora but Dolly rushed forward and defended him. Sparky rushed forward and gave Yubashiri and electric charged and Dolly slashed the arm and destroyed it. Sora started to attack the right arm. The Guard Armor was about to kick him with its right foot but Goofy rushed in.
Goofy: I'm coming!
Goofy tripped on his own legs and fell, unintentionally firing the DC-17 Hand Blaster Stone gave him and nailed the foot, knocking it away from Sora.
Sora: Thanks.
Sora swung hard and destroyed the other arm. Dolly went for the last leg.
Donald: Here! Let me help!
Donald fire his Fire spell and Dolly's sword burned in power.
Dolly: Thanks!
Dolly struck and the burning blade destroyed the last foot. The Guard Armor shook as it was angry and started to violently spin in anger.
Sora: (Dodging) Ideas, anyone?
Stone spotted the head levitating above the body.
Stone: (Showing grenade) Sir, this might destroy it. Just get inside.
Sora: Okay. Throw it at me… (Waiting for the right moment) NOW!
Stone armed the grenade and threw the grenade at Sora. He used the Keyblade like a baseball bat, hit the grenade, and sent it flying into the Guard Armor. Everyone ducked as the Heartless exploded.
Stone: HA! Great shot, General!
Sora: Me?
Donald and Goofy nodded in confirmation.
Leon: (Arriving with Yuffie and Aerith) They, too, have been seeking the Wielder of the Keyblade.
Goofy: Hey, why don't you come with us? We can go to other worlds on our vessel. (Pointing to Dolly and Sparky) Your friends can come, too.
Sora: I wonder if I can find Riku and Kairi.
Dolly: (As the mouse climbed onto Dolly's shoulder) Or my Family and Roxy.
Donald: Of course.
The pair were surprised as Stone and Goofy spoke to Donald.
Stone: Lying won't help us.
Goofy: He's right. Are you sure we can find them?
Donald: Who knows? But we need him to come with us to help us find the king.
Leon knew Sora needed to go.
Leon: Sora, take your friends and go with them. Especially if you all have loved ones to find.
Sora: (Sad) Yeah, I guess.
Dolly couldn't help but feel equally sad
Donald: But neither of you can't come along looking like that. Understand? No frowning, no sad faces okay?
Goofy: Yeah. You got look funny like us.
Sora thought for a minute a threw out a silly smile. Everyone laughed at the smile. Slowly, Dolly started laughing. This was the first time since the ordeal she felt like her old fun-loving self.
Sora: Okay, why not? I'll go with you guys.
Donald: (Putting his left hand out) Donald Duck.
Goofy: (Doing the same) Name's Goofy.
Dolly: (Following the lead) Dolly Dalmatian.
Sparky: (Doing it too) Mega Sparky.
Stone: (Doing it after taking his helmet off to show his face with red dyed hair) Commander Stone at your service.
Sora: (Doing it too) And I'm Sora.
Goofy: All for One, One for All.
