Lightning flashed across the dark sky above as Selina and Druella stood across from each other in front of the castle of Lescatie. Behind Selina were her two comrades, Koga and Matilda, as well as three Shoggoth maids who had their heads bowed. Behind Druella were the Fallen Maidens, the Fallen Knights, and a Mindflayer.

"Druella," Selina began while taking a step toward the White Lilim, "I understand now that we will never see eye-to-eye. No matter how much I may wish it wasn't so."

"I see, Cynthia," Druella shook her head and sighed, "That is unfortunate. I was so hoping to see you join us. You would've made such a wonderful wife to a wonderful man."

Selina shook her head, "Even now, you show why we cannot live together. Which means that there is only one thing left to do."

"Yes, it does," Druella moved her arms out to the sides while Wilmarina and Eva stepped up to her sides. Selina did the same as the two stepped up to her left and right sides.

Selina looked over to Koga and then Matilda, "Neither of you have to do this. This is my fight. No one would blame you if you left me now."

"None save myself," Koga stepped up with his eyes blazing with determination, "I will not stand by and let you face this alone, Good Hunter. Allow me to fight by your side."

Matilda hummed and nodded, "Well said, Koga. I am of the same mind. And, besides, this gives me a chance to try some of the things I learned from my teacher."

"Ah, but I hope you understand, Matilda," Eva began, eyes shining with anticipation, "That even the best teachers must keep some secrets from their students."

"I've been waiting for this," Wilmarina's wings flared out behind her as she glared at Selina, "You have caused enough trouble for Elt and Lescatie. Now, it's time you pay for your deeds."

Selina closed her eyes as her lips curled into a thankful smile, "Thank you. Koga. Matilda. I would be honored to fight by your side."

She opened her eyes and shot a determined glare at Druella. She held her arms out wide as the Shoggoths reached into their bodies...and brought out a deck of brown cards and a Duel Disk. The one on her right attached the Disk to her right arm, while the one on the shuffled Selina's deck then placed it in her left hand. Koga held his right arm up as his Duel Disk appeared in a flash of blue fire, deck already in its slot. Matilda did the same, with her Disk appearing alongside multiple Caryll Runes.

Druella, Wilmarina, and Eva's Duel Disks all appeared in a flash of purple light. Their decks were in their slots, ready for battle.

"Duel Disk set!" Selina and Druella said in unison while holding their right arms out. Caryll Runes shot out from Selina's Disk, while Magic Runes exploded from Druella's. They hit the ground and created two intersecting pocket dimensions. Within this space their cards would become real and the battle would reach new heights.

In unison, all six duelist drew five cards from their decks in one swift motion. All shouted out loud to indicate the beginning of the greatest battle any of them had ever had. Here the fate of Lescatie and Pran woud be decided...

"Let's duel!"

Lq840i: The only thing I can really talk about here is the Maidens part. From what I read in their entries and Brides, the primary thing that stopped the Maidens from helping Lescatie is that they weren't really willing to say "Fuck it" and just kill/kick out all the corrupt Nobles and such in the land. Cause they did try to use their influence sometimes. Alameria was accused by the Senate and slated to be executed for the crime of being a Mamono (she was, but they didn't know that at the time) and Wilmarina tried to use her influence to stop them. But the Senate was filled with people who hated her father, so they ignored her. The main issue was that each of them wasn't willing to just cut all ties with the negative aspects of the nation and start cleaning it up with their powers (Something they could probably do. Wilmarina is noted as being so strong that if a Mamono army heard she was on her way, they would drop everything and run rather than fight her. Though it didn't stop her from being BTFO'd by Druella in one shot).

Wathie The Monster: Well:

1. Selina is the only person who could shrug off their advances. She's well aware that no matter what the Mamono do, they can't corrupt her. Because of that, any attempts at hitting her with that stuff will fail. On top of that, even if they did manage to corrupt Matilda or Koga, she just has to grab them with her hand and everything the Mamono did is undone. She's the biggest shark in the water right now, and she knows it. So she's willing to give them all chances even now.

2. It's part of her personality. She wants to try to get through to at least some of the Mamono and try to convince them that their way is wrong. Is it a fool's errand? Maybe, but Selina doesn't care. She wants to give it a try. And she's the only person who can.

3. It's the strategically sound choice. If a war is destined to occur regardless of her actions, then it's better to allow for some indignities from the Mamono to remain in Lescatie. Why? Because she knows that the Mamono have a severe advantage over them. They have better mages, better fighters, and now she knows they started working on gunpowder weapons. If they fought now, Pran would be overrun as Selina is still just one person. She can't keep Pran safe AND fight off a whole army. They'd just go around her or have Druella distract her during the battle. But while she's in Lescatie, she can sabatoge the Mamono's ability to fight right under their noses.

BrazeRancor: The Lovecraft based Mamono are called "Abyssal Ones/Creatures". And, apparently, the Wendigo is apart of that bracket. I just found that out.
