Chapter Five
Hero Course Training
The bell rang throughout the school. Indicating that Lunch was over and noon classes were about to begin. The conversation Lily was having with Momo was interesting, to say the least. Kind of a breath of fresh air in the pseudo servant's case. She couldn't remember the last time she had a conversation that didn't piss her off or something along those lines. Nevertheless, she was enjoying it.
"So basically your parents are rich with a crap ton of connections. It makes sense why you would get in here on a recommendation." Lily said as it caused Momo to blush a bit.
"You saying that makes me feel a bit ashamed compared to you."
"You shouldn't be ashamed of that. I may bash on how the heroes are nowadays, but I don't bash on people that want to become heroes to either better themselves, help others, or do something involving getting money for their families. I just don't think that people shouldn't focus on glorifying heroes like they're gods or something."
"I mean, I can see where you're coming from. But you have to understand that most people are amazed by how strong the hero is due to their quirk."
"Which I would let slide if it weren't for the fact that I've seen people almost kiss the ground the hero walks on... then again, he was a hobo with mental problems and thought the flying tofu monster was real." She said before noticing a flabbergasted expression on Momo's face. "Yeah, I've seen a lot of stuff on the street that would make your hair turn white."
"...You poor damage girl."
"I'm not damaged...that much."
"Technically you are damaged," Artoria commented as Lily mentally rolled her eyes. Before she could continue her conversation, the front door to the classroom opened up quickly as the entire class heard a familiar voice enter the room.
"I am here!" All Might yelled as he stood in front of the doorway for a moment before entering the classroom. "Coming through the door like a normal person."
"Since when does a normal person enter through a door normally the way you're doing?" Lily said which caused All Might to flinch a bit from the bluntness in her voice.
"I-I suppose normal people wouldn't do what I do. A-Anyway, it's hero basic class time. This class will put your skills to the test on how to be a hero. And today's subject for today, battle training!" He said as the majority of the students cheered in excitement from hearing this. "Get your hero costumes on and get ready to show off what you got in training!" He yelled as the side of the wall opened up to reveal multiple suitcases with numbers on them. So far from what Lily could see, each student would have their hero costume but not herself. This is understandable given how she just got put into the class this morning. She soon notices All Might staring at her before hearing him speak.
"Sorry that we don't have a hero costume for you, Young Lily. You never did fill out the form which we should've had you do from the beginning instead of throwing you into the hero course. That's our fault."
"It's fine. I'll just wear the school uniform I have on."
"Are you sure, we do have a gym uniform for you to wear?"
"Will it fit?" She asked which caused All Might to pause and place a hand to his chin. "Yeah, I figured as much."
"All Might sir. Is it wise to let someone like her join in this training session?" Iida said as Lily glared at the class representative. "She's well under-prepared given how she doesn't have a hero costume, nor does she have the proper respect for this school's dress code, nor does she show any respect towards you."
"So does Bakugo, but you're not on his ass when it comes to this shit," Lily yelled as Iida turned his attention onto the pseudo-servant. "The fuck you're looking at nerd?"
"Settle down you two. Now it's true she's under preparation for something like this. But this can be a lesson for her and everyone in this class." All Might said as Iida turned his attention back onto him. "A hero should be ready for anything that might come his or her way. There might be times where you won't be able to get to your hero costume and you'll have to fight a villain while not being prepared. The fact that Lily is still wanting to do this is a clear sign that she's willing to learn...right?"
"Yeah, sure. Wouldn't be the first time I have to do something like this." Lily said while leaning back in her seat. "Though at least I don't have to worry about having to fight naked." She said which caught everyone by surprise, but it did give Mineta and Kaminari a mental image of her being naked.
"E-Excellent! Get yourselves suited up students and meet in Ground Delta!"
Once the students changed into their hero costumes, they quickly made their way to field delta. From what the bunny girl could tell, it looks like they're in an industrial area. Similar to where Lily was living before joining U.A. It was nice to be in an area that she's somewhat familiar with due to her upbringing. Lily took in the scenery for a while before turning her attention onto her classmates' hero costumes. Some seemed to interest her for the most part, while others...not so much as she wondered how wearing something with little to no protection like that would help them in battle. Though her attention was soon focused on Artoria the moment she heard her voice speak into her head.
"It's time to put what you learned over the past ten years of training to the test."
"You mean using my enhancements to win?"
"No, you're going to be using my powers to test out how your body can handle being a Pseudo-Servant. To be specific. You'll be using Excalibur and Avalon."
"Wait really? I thought you said that I couldn't use it as of yet."
"That's with the holy spear, Excalibur is a different story. I'm giving you full control to use it however you please. Just remember not to kill anyone with it and be mindful of how powerful it is."
"So basically a sword mastery test."
"A mix between that and utilization of noble phantasms. You wield both the sword of promised victory. A sword that rivals that of the Holy Spear Rhongomyniad. And Avalon, the ultimate shield that will protect you from anything and heal you from life-threatening injuries. If you can prove to me you can control them over time, then you'll be ready to wield the holy lance."
"Noted," Lily said before noticing Momo walking over to her, though she would blink upon seeing her hero costume. "Is there a reason why you're wearing clothes that show off certain parts of your body? Wait, are you copying my uniform look~?"
"W-What? No! I'm not copying you or anything. This is just mere coincidence!" Momo said with a frantic blush on her face as it caused Lily to laugh.
"Relax, I'm just messing with you Momo. But in all seriousness, how come you're dressed like that?"
"Oh, right. I never did explain my quirk to you, have I?" She asked before extending a hand towards Lily as a small ball appeared from the palm of her hand. "I'm able to create almost anything so long as I know what they're made up from. You know, like what materials are required to create the item."
"...Okay, not going to lie. But that's an impressive quirk to have, and it does explain why you're dress like that. You're like a walking human arsenal in a way. Kind of wish I had a quirk like that."
"I never did ask, but what is your quirk?"
"I don't have a proper name for my quirk. But let's just go with the King of Camelot." She said as Momo tilted her head a bit in confusion. "It allows me to recreate certain relics of the past during the Camelot era. Like King Arthur's sword, Excalibur for example."
"Seems like a rather odd quirk to have."
"You'll see what I mean during this class." She said before her attention onto All Might after hearing him clear his throat to get the students' attention.
"Listen up you newbies. Today will be a special training event. Seeing how we have a new student joining the hero course, we had to change things up a bit. We'll be doing capture training." He said before reaching behind himself to pull out a small notebook. "In this training session, you will be split into two teams. One team will be the heroes, while the other will be the villains. The heroes will be trying to capture the villains with the capture tape that everyone should've taken upon entering here. The villains will do whatever it takes to make sure the heroes don't try and capture them or the bomb. Because if the heroes capture the villains or the bomb before time runs out, then the heroes win. But if the Heroes are captured by the villain or they fail to capture the bomb, then the villains win."
"An open area like this would be for the best. An Enclosed area would limit your mobility for the most part. Plus swinging a sword in a small crapped area would cause more damage to the building than to your sword." Artoira said before she and Lily noticed All Might moving to the side to reveal two boxes with the letter A and B on them.
"All Might sir," Momo said as she raised her hand. "Shouldn't this be in an enclosed area as a means to teach us how to minimize our usage of our quirks?"
"Normally we would do that. But again, given how we have a new student added to the hero course. Principal Nezu thought it would be a good idea to change things up a bit." He said before eyeing Lily without her knowing. "That and if she does have the same strength as I do, then she could destroy the building they'd be in when we were planning on using it before. It would be interesting to see the extent of her natural ability that she claims to be not a quirk."
"Understood. Sorry for interrupting your explanation." Momo said before lowering her hand.
"I took the liberty of placing your names in both A and B boxes and I will be picking out two names from out of the boxes. Whoever names I call out of the box first will team A, same goes for box B." He said before reaching into boxes A and B to pull out two names. "For Team A, Bakugo and Iida. For Team B, Lily, and Mina!" He announced as it took the four students by surprise.
"Huh, looks like we're up," Lily said as she looked over at Momo who had a somewhat worried expression on her face. "Hey, you okay?"
"Oh, I'm fine. I'm just worried for you. I mean I can only assume you have combat experience from being the villain killer, but I have a feeling Bakugo might be...too much for you."
"If I can handle my own against villains on the street, I'm pretty sure I can handle some boy whose hair resembles that of a small puppy." She said before stretching her limbs a bit. "But it's nice to know that you're worried about my well-being."
"Try not to be overconfident in your skills, and don't underestimate Bakugo."
"You will have fifteen minutes to complete your mission." He said before reaching behind himself again to pull out a remote. Once it was out, he pressed a button as a floating screen appeared above the class to show them a map of the field they'll be fighting on. "Your locations are marked on the map, each team will have a two-minute preparation period to get themselves ready. When you hear the buzzard sound, that means the round has begun. Good luck to both teams!" He said as both teams went to their separate locations.
"Wow, so you're the well-known villain killer?" Mina asked as Lily turned around to see the pink girl examining her up and down. "Wow, you look less scary than what the news has been telling us." She said before starting to play around with her cottontail. "Whoa, your tail is so soft and fluffy~"
"You must be Mina, right?" Lily asked as Mina nodded with a smile on her face.
"My name's Mina Ashido. Nice to meet you, Lily!"
"Likewise." She said before summoning Excalibur and Avalon to her hip as it took Mina by surprise.
"Whoa, what kind of quirk is that!"
"Long story short, my quirk allows me to recreate certain relics from the medieval era."
"So like Momo's quirk, but with weapons?" Mina asked as Lily waved her hand to the side a bit.
"Somewhat, I call it King of Camelot...not the best name considering how my quirk is supposed to be flight, which allows me to fly in the air."
"Wait, so you can create weapons and fly in the air!? No wonder you were able to escape the heroes and police for a long time."
"Am I that famous?"
"There've been countless forums based around you. You were seen on the news, youtube videos of you getting into fights with villains and pro heroes that someone was able to record, and yesterday's news show you sending Endeavor flying." Mina said as it caused Lily to stare at the pink girl in surprise.
"That moment when you realize that you should've stayed hidden from the world," Artoria said in a joking manner.
"Fuck off, I have no regret for the actions I've taken," Lily said mentally before shaking her head and focusing her attention on Mina. "I'll have to ask you to show me that when we're done with our match. But for now, let's focus on the match. Any ideas on what their quirks are, Mina?"
"Hm, well Iida's quirk allows him to move fast, while Bakugo can make explosions with his sweat."
"So we got a speedster and a bomberman." Lily said as she placed a hand to her chin. "What about your quirk?"
"Oh, I can make acid appear on or from my body." She said before demonstrating as a glob of acid appeared in her hands. "It's very useful when I need to dodge attacks or close the distance to hit someone in the face with my fist. But I can keep producing acid for too long, otherwise, I'll lose my resistance to it and it'll damage my skin."
"...I have an idea, but I need you to make a lot of acids. About two barrels full of it." She requested as it took Mina off guard.
"Requesting something like that will cause me to lose my resistance to my acid. You know that, right?"
"Don't worry about that. I have something to help with it." Lily said before jerking a thumb to herself. "You just leave the planning to me. They don't call me the villain killer just because I killed villains in the past."
"Well...if you say so...but what about Iida? While you're busy taking on Bakugo, he'll come after me and the bomb. And after seeing how Fast he was during the quirk examination test, there's no way I can keep up with his speed."
"Which is why I need you to make a lot of acids. Lily said as she placed a hand on Mina's shoulder and grins. "Now, let's go over the plan shall we~?"
