Bowser's Cheeseburger Kingdom Feast
It was National Cheeseburger Day, a day the Mushroom Kingdom barely paid attention to. But this year, something felt different. A juicy scent wafted through the air, stretching from the farthest hills of the Mushroom Kingdom all the way to Bowser's dark and menacing castle.
Inside his throne room, Bowser was in a particularly good mood. He had spent weeks preparing for this day. After all, even a king of Koopas needed to take a break from constant schemes to kidnap Princess Peach. Today was about cheeseburgers—and not just any cheeseburgers. These were to be the most massive, mouth-watering creations ever seen.
"Minions!" Bowser roared, his voice echoing across the castle walls. Kamek floated in quickly, and a few Goombas scrambled in behind him, tripping over their feet. "Is the feast ready?!"
Kamek gave a bow. "Yes, your excellency. The grills are fired up, the cheese is perfectly melted, and we've captured the finest ingredients from the Mushroom Kingdom gardens. Everything is prepared for your Cheeseburger Kingdom Feast!"
Bowser grinned. His fangs gleamed in the torchlight as he rubbed his scaly hands together. "Excellent. It's time to remind these fools who the real king of flavor is."
Meanwhile, over in Toad Town, Mario and Luigi were sitting down for a quiet meal at Toad's Café. Their typical plates of spaghetti arrived when a sudden rumble shook the ground beneath them.
"Mama mia!" Mario exclaimed. "What was that?"
Luigi peered out the window. "Is it…another Bowser attack?"
Just as they were about to spring into action, a Koopa Troopa appeared at their table, looking surprisingly non-threatening. He handed them a royal invitation sealed with Bowser's crest.
"King Bowser cordially invites you to his National Cheeseburger Day Feast at his castle. No traps, we promise!" The Koopa said, nervously shifting under Mario's skeptical gaze.
Mario scratched his head. "Cheeseburgers? From Bowser?"
Luigi's stomach growled. "You think he's serious?"
The two brothers decided to take a chance, hopping into their karts and racing off toward Bowser's Castle. They arrived to see an unexpected sight: the castle courtyard was transformed into a grand food court. Bowser was standing at the largest grill Mario had ever seen, flames blazing, while Dry Bones and Hammer Bros were flipping burgers like pros.
Mario and Luigi cautiously approached Bowser, who—shockingly—greeted them with a warm laugh.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the Mario brothers! Come for a taste of the best cheeseburgers in the kingdom?"
"Uh…" Mario started, still unsure if this was a trap.
Bowser, noticing their hesitation, waved a hand. "Relax, no tricks today. I'm serious. You two are always getting in the way, but even I can admit—today's about cheeseburgers, not battles."
Luigi, who could never resist a good burger, cautiously took a seat. "Well, if you're serious, then I'll give it a try."
Bowser clapped his hands, and soon, a massive cheeseburger piled high with sizzling beef patties, melted cheddar cheese, grilled mushrooms, and onions was placed in front of Luigi. Mario got a similar stack, but with Bowser's special hot sauce drizzled on top.
They dug in, and for a moment, there was only the sound of munching, chewing, and the occasional satisfied groan.
Bowser watched with a smug grin, chomping down on his own burger, which was twice the size of the others.
"So?" he asked through a mouthful of food. "Best cheeseburgers ever, or what?"
Mario wiped his mouth and nodded. "I gotta admit, Bowser, these are pretty good."
"Yeah," Luigi agreed, still working through his towering burger. "Maybe you missed your calling as a chef, King Koopa!"
Bowser let out a hearty laugh. "Maybe! But don't get any ideas, Mario! I'll still be back to try and take over the kingdom tomorrow. Just consider this a… temporary truce."
The feast went late into the night. Bowser, for once, wasn't focused on his usual plans for domination, but instead on perfecting the art of cheeseburger grilling. Minions, heroes, and even Toads from the nearby village joined in on the festivities, enjoying the best cheeseburgers ever made.
As the night ended, Mario and Luigi left with full stomachs and a rare smile from Bowser himself. "Next year, same place?" Mario asked, half-joking.
Bowser gave a toothy grin. "You can count on it."
And so, on National Cheeseburger Day, a new tradition was born—a temporary truce, delicious food, and just a little less rivalry in the Mushroom Kingdom. At least until tomorrow.
