Chapter Thirty-Four
Grand Meeting
While the students of Class 1A were busy getting the room prepared, Lily and the other grand servants were currently making their way to the kitchen of the school. Once inside they would notice that everything was surprisingly in decent condition despite a few light bulbs being blown out or flickering a bit. Needless to say, this was an okay condition for Lily to prepare dinner for the students of class 1A.
"Okay, so. I know you and Momo might be a bit miffed about the fact that I lied about my quirk." Lily said as she noticed the somewhat miffed, but adorable expressions on their faces. "But in fairness, would anyone believe me if I told them about what I am without proof that was good enough?"
"...I…suppose you're right about that…still. You could've told us about all this, right?" Momo asked as Lily shrugged.
"And would you believe that it was magic and not some kind of quirk?" Lily asked as Momo was about to speak, but paused due to thinking of the scenario of that happening in her head. "Case in point. Even with proof, I'm pretty sure you would chalk it up as a quirk. I can't blame you seeing how the idea of magic being real is kind of ridiculous."
"So you've been like this since the day you were born?" Uraraka asked as Lily shook her head.
"It was when I was seven that I made a deal with Artoria to be a grand servant, and for the past ten years, she's been teaching me a few things. Some good, some bad, some I prefer not to go through again."
"By that you mean-"
"Okay! So let's go see what we have to work with food-wise!" Lily said as she quickly made her way toward the back part of the kitchen. From what she could tell, there were bags of rice off to the side of the refrigerator. She soon walked over to the refrigerator to see what was inside it. Once she opens it, her expectation of having a fully stocked refrigerator was dashed as she saw that it only had three thirty cartons of eggs, demonic meat that was in a zip lock bag that was covered in poison, a few bottles of water, three large balls of mozzarella cheese, and a dozen sticks of butter. "Huh…not what I was expecting, but it's something." She said as Momo looked over her shoulder to see what she meant.
"Well, we could make omelets, rice, and some vegetables…but I'm not certain about the meat. It looks like it's seen some better days."
"That would be demonic meat. Which I can clean and cook thanks to Jack's instructions on how to do it." Lily said before looking over at the others who were currently looking around the kitchen. From what they could tell, there wasn't a lot in there other than some dried-up preserves and containers filled with milk, water, sugar, flour, and cooking oil. "What do we have?"
"Does anyone know how to make bread? Because we got stuff here to make it." Kaminari asked as everyone other than Lily shook their heads.
"Seriously? You guys don't know how to make bread? Didn't any of you take a cooking class or something while you were in school?" Lily asked.
"No, I mean, to be honest, I never thought we would be in a situation like this," Mina said with a sheepish expression on her face.
"Do you all know how to cook an egg or rice?" She asked as they nodded. "Good, then I'll make the bread while you guys make omelets and rice."
"Aye, aye, fearless leader~," Mina said, which caused Lily to deadpan her. "What? You're kind of in charge of things seeing how you're more experienced in this sort of thing than we are."
"She's not wrong," Momo added as Lily rolled her eyes.
"I'm not a leader, never have been, never will be."
"I mean, you kind of lead us here…right?" Uraraka asked as Lily's deadpan expression was now focused on her. "What? It's true. You got the remaining classmates here in somewhat safe condition…ish."
"Again, I would like to see you try driving a truck through a horde of monsters while being chased by a mad knight hellbent on killing us," Lily said before making her armor disappear as she was now wearing her blood-covered uniform. "I only saved you guys because it was the right thing to do, some of you are my friends…and I prefer not to give Aizawa more ammunition to get sent to jail."
"Still you can't deny the fact that you have some leadership skills~," Mina said before floating over to the container of rice. "Seriously, you got to stop thinking you're not leadership material."
"You should know by now that I have…issues. Not the kind where I can get over it within a day or two. But issues to where I would need therapy when all this is done."
"...By issues you mean-"
"The kind where I always sleep with a gun and a knife underneath my bed…shit, I hope Midnight doesn't go into my room. I set up a lot of non-lethal traps there." She said which took everyone by surprise. "What? It shouldn't be a surprise that I would do something like that. Especially given how I was an orphan on the streets for the past ten years or so."
"I mean yeah…but we weren't expecting you to do something like that. Why couldn't you get help from a hero or local authority?" Momo asked while taking a carton of eggs out and placing them on the kitchen counter.
"Multiple reasons. The first one would be because I'm American and I couldn't speak Japanese. Second, some not all, people in Japan do not like foreigners."
"...I mean, she's not wrong about that," Kaminari said, which caused Uraraka and Mina to nod in agreement. "It also doesn't help that she's a victim of Big Al's Orphanage for the Misguided." She said which took Uraraka and Momo by surprise.
"You're the sole survivor of that incident!?" Momo yelled in astonishment as Lily nodded.
"I shouldn't be surprised that a lot of people know about that place. But yeah, which is another reason why I have less faith in heroes because of what All Might did. Thanks to him, I lost the only person that treated me like I was an actual human being, and sent me down the path of bloodshed and survival at the age of seven…I'm planning on kicking his ass when we get back." Lily said before grabbing an apron from out of her tail to put it on.
"W-While I can understand your anger towards him. You have to understand that-"
"He's a fucking adult. Not a kid. And just because he's a symbol of peace, he shouldn't have that much power or authority to replace a fully qualified person with a hero who doesn't even have training in the field of caring. On the list of people I dislike, All Might's personality would fall under number two. Aizawa pretty much takes first place."
"You don't like Aizawa a lot don't you?" Momo asked.
"More like his attitude towards me given how I'm the villain killer," Lily answered as she walked over to the cabinet above the stove to pull out the stuff she needed to make bread. "Like I had a choice in the matter of how I was brought up. You try making it on your own at the age of seven and all you have as a parent figure is a divine spirit that taught you what you need to do to survive in the slums. I like to see him walk a mile in my shoes that fucking homeless looking schizophrenic."
"That seems a bit rude to call him that," Uraraka said.
"Pretty sure I can. Given the new information given what he said to me on the first day of school for me. He pretty much said that he didn't trust me and was against having someone like me in the school…fuck he'll possibly use this incident just to get them to arrest me."
"Aizawa wouldn't do something like that…would he?" Uraraka asked as she noticed Mina and Kaminari's awkward expressions on their faces.
"Unfortunately, he would. Not intentionally of course." U-Olga said as she appeared on the counter next to the eggs. "From what I can understand from the information provided to me by Uraraka's brain, heroes are pretty much funded by the government. And seeing how this Aizawa human is a strict-rules kind of guy…I believe the term you teenagers would say would be, shit out of luck?"
"Yeah, and I bet my secret recipe for Cinnamon Apple Macarons that he'll sell my ass down the river stix," Lily said as she started to mix in a few ingredients into a bowl and used a wooden spoon to mix it all manually to make dough. "Hell would freeze over before the homeless schizophrenic risked his career on me."
"Perhaps, but things might change if you can get him and the others out of this place." The Prime Minister said as she made a chair for herself out of the countertop with her magic. "The man is at a total loss right now with the information we gave him and from what he experienced while separated from us. It also doesn't help that five of your classmates are dead so that's going to be a pain for him to explain to the humans who are in charge of the hero society." She said before noticing the confused expression on everyone's faces. "In layman's terms. Depending on how things are and if more students were to die, then we might be able to manipulate-"
"I'm not going down that route," Lily said as she cut off U-Olga from speaking. "Aizawa may be an ass, but even I wouldn't go so far as to manipulate someone when they're in a situation like this. That being said, we better go over the worst-case scenario."
"What do you mean?" Mina asked.
"It means that not all of us are going to make it out alive," Momo answered as Lily nodded.
"It should be obvious that I am not going to make promises I can't keep. I won't be able to protect everyone. The best way I can help them is to at least train them to the best of my ability. But even with three rogue servants on our side, we still need more firepower."
"We do have Midoriya with his super strength, Bakugo, and his explosions, Todoroki and his ability to use fire and ice, and Iida and his uber speed," Kaminari said. "We also got you so that helps as well, right?"
"Midoriya can only use that monstrous strength only once before his bones break. Bakugo is good with his explosion quirk, but his pride is what's making him such a dick. Thinking that just because you have a powerful quirk, you can take on anyone or anything. Todoroki, I don't know why he's choosing to use his ice side only in a fight, but he's holding back which can get us killed…Guess I have no choice but to summon them."
"Summon them? Who are they that you're talking about?" Uraraka asked as Lily let out a sigh while looking over at Artoria.
"Grand Servants are given special perks or abilities that most normal servants wouldn't get due to the class they're summoned in. For Lily, thanks to wielding the holy lance, she's able to summon other servants to her aid."
"Dude, that's amazing! I didn't know you could do that!?" Kaminari yelled. "That's going to give us the advantage we need!"
"Originally it was supposed to be a trump card for when I would go up against All Might, but given the situation, we're in. I'll make an exception to use it." Lily said before focusing her attention on the other grand servants. "I'll enact the summoning tomorrow, mainly because I'm hungry and tired. Can't perform it in the current condition I'm in."
"Understandable, but should we inform the others about this?" Momo asked.
"I mean it should be obvious that I'm gonna have to tell them…which is bad enough considering how they don't trust me."
"I mean, can you blame them?" U-Olga asked. "You're the renowned villain killer. Scourge of all villains, bane to heroes, and threat to hero society." She said as Lily deadpans at her. "What? I'm just going by what I read from the minds of your classmates…well all but that Midoriya kid. Something is preventing me from reading his mind for some reason."
"Yeah, you wouldn't be the first to try that out," Lily said before letting out a sigh of annoyance. "It's going to be a pain for the next couple of days we're here. And I'm pretty sure Bakugo and Todoroki will be a pain in my ass given how they are."
"You don't know that. Maybe they'll change once they get to know you a bit more?" Momo said with a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
"Yeah...I doubt that…I'll figure something out. Right now, let's just focus on getting them something to eat now." Lily said as she returned to her part of the meal-making. "Maybe a good night's sleep and some food will make things better for us in the morning."
