Pipp woke up to the sound of Sunny's alarm going off, her eyes flapping open.
she yawned as she sat up, her wavy mane loose down her back.
"what time is it?" she asked, still half asleep.
the pink pegasus always asked the question every time she woke up, causing no pony to answer.
her wings fluttered as she shuffled out of bed while Sunny turned off the alarm.
as she tied up the back half of her mane in its usual bun, CC appeared in the middle of the room.
"raise your hoof if you've heard of cloudsdale!" CC announced, waving her hoof in the air like she just didn't care.
Pipp gave a small sigh before lifting her hoof alongside Zipp and Sunny.
"for you two..." CC said, gesturing to a half asleep Izzy and a scowling Misty as she floated over to Zipps desk.
a pulled up projector screen appeared in mid air as the hybrid levitated a hoof off the floor.
she pulled it down, causing a projection of a photo of cloudsdale to appear on it from nowhere.
"before the creation of the crystals, most pegasi lived in cloudsdale, the city of clouds. it also had the weather factory in it where they made stuff like rain clouds, incredibly spicy rainbows that now taste like Tireks face, storm clouds, regular clouds, just normal weather stuff" CC shrugged, the screen changing images as she listed types of weather with it showing a picture of an angry Tirek instead of a rainbow.
"wait who's Tirek?" Izzy asked, still yawning every few seconds.
"not important. get ready and message your families, we're going to cloudsdale!" CC exclaimed, a hairbrush appearing in one hoof and then an unopened scroll in the other. Pipp looked shocked and confused as CC spoke, her hooves drifting away from her now tied up mane.
"how do we get there?" Pipp asked, walking to a secluded spot on the beach with the others.
"be back in a second" CC declared before flying off into the horizon.
"what part are you most excited to see? I'm interested in the schools. how did they get books up there?" Zipp said, turning her attention to Pipp.
"I'm excited about the weather factory! I'm hoping to find some kind of guide book so I can learn some more types of weather!" Pipp exclaimed, flying up off the ground by accident.
"I'm wondering" Izzy yawned.
"how we'll get up there" she said, gesturing to herself and Misty.
"I'm here! I'm here" Hitch yelled as he ran over to them, wearing a saddle bag with Sparky napping inside.
before any of them could say anything, they saw it. the biggest cloud they had ever seen floating towards them. rainbows were flowing down into the air from some spots and there was a giant baking funnel made of clouds in one spot, large enough to pour a lakes worth of water into in less than ten seconds.
CC flew over from behind it as it stopped moving.
"hey, does anypony want to help me get this to zephyr heights? its really big and shockingly heavy for a gigantic cloud" CC told them, gesturing behind her.
"what is that?" Zipp asked.
"is that cloudsdale!?" Pipp screamed.
CC nodded with a smirk.
"I recognize it from the pictures! how did you find it!?" Pipp queried.
"I flew around the planet for a few hours and then it took like, five days to reassemble it. its pretty hard to reassemble a city you've never been to" CC explained.
"anyways, you gonna help me get this to zephyr heights or what?" CC asked.
"how are you so good at this game Alphie?" queen Haven asked. she was playing chess next to a window with a gray unicorn. he had a white mane and a short beard and sideburns.
he shrugged in reply.
they both froze when a large shadow loomed over them.
the couple turned to look outside, only to see the biggest cloud either of them had ever seen outside.
a small glass case containing a tiny cloud fell through the white into the middle of the streets.
CC flew after it, narrowly catching it before it hit the ground.
"sorry!" Zipp called after her.
"hi mom!" Pipp called to a shocked Haven from the edge of the cloud.
Haven opened the window and flew out.
"what is going on here!?" she asked as she flew to where Pipp was standing.
"you wanna join?" CC questioned, teleporting in front of the chess board while holding the small glass case.
"how?" the gray unicorn asked.
"there's a spell I know that lets unicorns and earth ponies walk on clouds for a few hours" CC explained with a shrug.
Pipp walked through the largest building in the reassembled cloud ruins.
she trotted down a hallway, stopping when she saw something from the corner of her eye. it was a double door with a picture of a snow cloud above it.
intrigued, she took out her phone and began recording as she walked towards the door.
she flipped the camera angle towards herself as she approached the door.
"hey pipsqueaks! its Pipp petals in cloudsdale! I'm about to explore a mystery room in the factory!" Pipp squealed.
"that's just where they stored the water. also I'm going with you because no pony should go into one of these rooms without somepony experienced" CC said, coming into view.
"sounds reasonable" Pipp smiled.
"I feel like this is an invasion of privacy" Sunny mumbled as Izzy opened the door to an old house.
"they won't mind, they're dead" Izzy replied, already walking into the kitchen.
Sunny rolled her eyes before she began following the purple unicorn.
Izzy stopped when she stepped on something.
"why is there sausage rolls on the floor?" Izzy asked herself, looking down at the mush of rot.
"you probably don't want to touch that, it might have picked up some really bad diseases since magic went away. also how do you know it was sausage rolls?" Sunny asked, gently pulling her away by the shoulder.
"I don't, I'm just guessing" Izzy responded.
"why are there so many clouds in here?" Hitch asked, walking into the small hut full of shelves of small glass cases containing small clouds.
"I think its a collection" Zipp shrugged, still flying next to one of the higher shelves.
"who would collect clouds?" Hitch questioned.
he shrieked as his hoof slipped through a hole in the cloud, only wide enough to fit his hoof.
"oh yeah, that's there" Zipp said with a tint of nervousness and a few grains of guilt.
"would've been good to know" Hitch remarked, pulling his hoof out from the hole.
Zipp rolled her eyes before grabbing one of the cases.
"I think this is..." she stopped when the small cloud thundered.
"a thunder cloud. cool" Zipp shrugged before putting it back in place.
"why is one of these square?" Hitch asked, gesturing to a oddly shaped cloud on the third shelf up.
"huh" Zipp squeaked, unbothered by the shape.
"probably just some skilled cloud maker" she shrugged, snatching another case from another shelf.
"what is this?" Misty questioned, looking over a control panel. she was standing next to a control panel that had a blue wire leading all the way to a large green and purple spinner with a gear in the middle chained to a larger gear that looked like it was supposed to spin around.
"I think its some sort of spinning thingy meant to help pegasi train" queen Haven said as she walked over.
Misty teleported a few feet away from surprise.
"why don't you try it?" Alphabittle asked, walking over to the grayish pink pegasus.
"dad!?" Misty shrieked out in surprise.
"hi Mist! CC used a spell to let me walk on clouds. I'm assuming you're using the same spell" Alphabittle responded.
Misty nodded as she walked back to where she was standing before.
"wanna try?" CC asked, teleporting next to Haven, who screamed and flew into the air.
"oh" Misty whispered.
"didn't you say you were going to explore the factory with Pipp?" Misty asked while Haven floated back onto the cloud.
"yeah, she kind of dropped and broke one of the jars full of lightning. I don't exactly know how dangerous lightning is for mortals so I teleported her to the hospital just in case" CC explained with a shrug.
"which hospital?" Misty queried.
CC's eyes shot wide open before she quickly flew away.
"well this is spooky!" Pipp exclaimed right after she began recording again. her mane was frazzled and her headband was tilted.
"hey pipsqueaks! I've kind of been teleported to an abandoned hospital, so now we're exploring that!" Pipp said to the phone as CC teleported behind her.
"Pipp!" CC cried out.
Pipps wings spread out in surprise, hitting CC in the process.
"I'm so sorry I teleported you here! I didn't think about which hospital I was teleporting you to" CC exclaimed, softly pushing Pipps wing down.
"It's fine, this looks really interesting anyways!" Pipp replied, tucking her wings back into place.
"you can explore it after we find one of those old ass guide books" CC scowled before teleporting them back to cloudsdale.
"maybe that was a bad idea" Misty said while her father walked over to a dizzy queen Haven.
"maybe?" Haven groaned while Alphabittle helped her to her feet.
"do I even want to know what happened to mom?" Zipp asked as she walked over, Hitch following close behind.
"she tried the dizzitron" Misty explained.
"the what?" Hitch queried.
Misty gestured to the giant spinner as Haven made a gagging sound.
they all froze when they heard the sound of Pipp cheering from inside the factory.
"I can't believe we found it! a guide book to weather magic!" Pipp squealed, holding a thick book titled 'weather magic and you! the guide book to weather magic'.
"have fun. that things one of the reasons I reassembled cloudsdale and dragged it here. the other reasons is that it's good to know your history and also preserving culture, I guess" CC stated with a small shrug.
"what happened? did you find something?" Zipp asked, flying in through the open window.
"yeah! a guide book! now I can learn all types of weather! and I can take photos of every page and upload it so all pegasi can learn it!" Pipp happily explained.
"don't forget the combos!" CC sang, holding up a book titled 'combo weather and you! a sequel to the weather magic guide book'.
"I think its better to start with the basics. like parkour. its really stupid to try jumping onto a high up windowsill when its your first time" Zipp responded.
"oh ha ha ha. such a good joke" Pipp scowled.
Alphabittle and queen Haven sat on a cloud bench, her head resting on his shoulder.
"you're really having fun with that huh?" Zipp asked, watching as Pipp triggered lightning with a cloud.
"uh guys? we might have a problem" Izzy declared as her hooves began sinking.
"the spells wearing off" Zipp said, looking on in horror as Misty, Hitch and Alphabittles began sinking into the cloud surface as well.
Izzy screamed as she fell through the clouds.
Sunny quickly flew after her as Misty and Hitch began falling too.
Misty used her magic to levitate herself while Sunny grabbed Izzy by the leg and used her magic to catch Hitch by the tail.
Alphabittle fell through the clouds, quickly being grabbed by the tail.
"oh Celestia" Sunny muttered when she saw her horn and wings were fading.
she screamed alongside Hitch and Izzy as they fell.
"I gotcha!" Misty said in unison with a blue pegasus with a black mane.
Misty caught Hitch and Izzy with her magic while the blue pegasus grabbed Sunny by the tail.
"seriously!?" Sunny screamed when she saw her horn and wings had appeared again.
they all floated down onto the sidewalk where ponies were recording the whole thing.
"I hate it when my horn and wings disappear at the most inconvenient time" Sunny grumbled.
"yeah well, you won't have to deal with that again" CC smirked as she floated down to stand next to her.
"what" Sunny replied.
