Sunny woke up with the sun, bags under her eyes from the lack of sleep. she was laying on the couch with a blanket resting over her back hooves.
she sat up, stretching her wings slightly as she yawned.
she then got up, looking up at the clock on the wall pointing to say '6:10'.
Sunny sighed before she began walking to the kitchen.
she grabbed a frying pan from one of the cabinets.
the clock on the wall pointed to '6:50' as Zipp walked down the ramp.
"morning Zipp" Sunny smiled as she placed a large plate of pancakes on the kitchen table.
Zipp froze in shock when she saw the orange alicorn.
"something wrong?" Sunny asked.
"yeah. check your back" Zipp replied.
Sunny looked behind, only to see orange, red and yellow wings on her back.
a look of horror was on her face as she reached up with her hoof, only to feel the orange and yellow horn on her head.
"oh Celestia what happened to me?" Sunny whispered as she lowered her hoof.
"I'll go get the others. quick question, does Hitch have any medical experience? because me and Pipp don't unless you include ankle spraining and wing breaking and Izzy and Misty probably don't" Zipp announced.
"he took first aid class in high school" Sunny replied.
"good enough. I'm gonna call him" Zipp said before jogging up the ramp into the bedroom.
Sunny then grabbed six plates and put them in front of six of the chairs at the kitchen table.
she sat down and grabbed some pancakes from the large plate, placing them on the one in front of her.
she almost choked on her food when she heard somepony dash down the ramp.
"on a scale of one to ten how bad is your pain!?" Pipp yelled, her wings spread out.
"one but that's from almost choking" Sunny gasped.
"Pipp calm down" Misty spoke as she followed down the ramp.
"why are you even yel-holy Celestia!" Misty cried out when she saw Sunny.
"its too early for this" Izzy groaned as she followed behind, her mane in a ponytail.
"hey Sunny, like the new look" she continued as she walked over to the kitchen table.
"you aren't surprised?" Sunny asked as Izzy sat down and grabbed a pair of pancakes.
"why should I? you're full alicorn now, its not a huge deal" Izzy shrugged.
"how did you come to that conclusion?" Zipp questioned.
"just guessing" Izzy shrugged again before munching on one of the pancakes.
"well you guessed right" CC announced as she appeared, tossing a pamphlet at Izzy.
"ow" Izzy shrieked as the paper hit her in the head.
"Sunny's been turning into an alicorn since magic came back. I didn't tell you ponies because I was afraid it would interrupt the process. I went to research a bit too late" CC confessed.
"so whats this for?" Izzy asked, picking up the pamphlet off the ground. It had a terrible picture of Twilight on the front with the word 'alicorn' right above.
"oh thats for Sunny. She's obviously gotten practice with flying and spellcasting because of, you know. But it still helps to know" CC explained.
"is Sunny okay!?" Hitch yelled as he slammed open the door.
"ah!" CC screamed as a bolt of lightning appeared from nowhere and almost struck Hitch.
"sorry! jumpscare!" CC said with a smile.
"do you have any pain anywhere?" Hitch asked Sunny as she sat down on the couch.
"my throats slightly sore but thats from coughing after Pipp accidentally scared me" Sunny shrugged before taking a bite of the half eaten pancake in her hoof.
"do you feel any difference anywhere else?" Hitch questioned with the smallest shrug.
"my back legs feel a little different" Sunny replied, taking another bite of the pancake.
Hitch exhaled loudly as he got lost in thought for a moment.
he then grabbed the pillow behind her and held it up right above her back hoof.
"kick this" he told her.
she did so, causing the pillow to launch behind her across the room.
everypony watched with surprise, having seen her do a similar thing a week after magic had returned, the pillow having launched a few hoofs in front of her at the time.
"when did the pain you had yesterday go away?" Hitch questioned, changing the topic.
"I think about two am. I fell asleep right after" Sunny explained.
"when did you wake up?" Zipp interrupted from where she was lying in the armchair.
"six am. I made breakfast afterwards" Sunny replied before finishing the pancake and yawning loudly.
"hey CC, how exactly do the crystals work?" Izzy interrupted from her desk.
"well thats a small question with a big answer" CC replied from where she was floating.
"so you better get comfortable!" CC continued while Hitch sat next to Sunny.
he twitched when he felt a weight on his shoulder.
the yellow earth pony looked over, seeing Sunny resting her head on his shoulder.
"okay so" CC sighed as she landed on her back hooves, standing perfectly.
"mom! dad! I'm home" Cake announced as she entered the strange looking house.
"oh Cupcake! Fluttershys meeting up with her friends" Discord said as he closed the book he was holding and placing it on his lap.
"its been a whole moon already? my how time flies" Cake replied.
Discord nodded before she disappeared.
"When I teleported into the canterlot throne room, they were creating the pony crystals. I think me being there might be why I have a connection to the crystals. I felt it when the crystals were reunited. I felt it when magic came back. I felt it when earth ponies got plant magic, when gem ponies got gem magic, when moth ponies got rock magic" CC explained.
"why do you have a connection to the necklaces of harmony?" Zipp asked.
"yeah! why did me trying to put on Zipps necklace give you a headache?" Pipp questioned, holding out her hooves from where she was sitting on the floor.
her necklace of harmony then teleported into her hoof.
"because I created them! I created the necklaces of harmony!" CC wailed, flying up into the air.
"CC" Twilight said as she walked into CCs bedroom.
"yes aunt Twilight?" CC replied as she spun around in her chair to face the purple alicorn.
"according to my research, there will still be more elements of harmony in the future. I'm worried how they'll be able to defeat threats without the physical elements of harmony. could you perhaps help me with creating new ones? ones that don't have anything relying on them?" Twilight asked.
"it would be my honor" CC saluted with a smile.
"we spent almost a decade figuring out the magic code required to do it. about three thousand, three hundred and 96 days I believe. Twilight didn't have enough magic to create them alone. so we did it together, with her holding the fragments of all the original elements of harmony except for her own" CC explained.
"but little did we know while we were figuring out how to recreate the original elements of harmony, somepony was-" she cut off as a look of shock overcame her features, familiarity dug into her pupils.
"something wrong?" Misty asked, lying on the floor with her back legs leaning against the couch.
Hitch cautiously leaned over to look behind the hybrid and outside the window, careful not to wake the orange alicorn and failing.
he froze when he saw a dark purple unicorn with a white curled mane wearing a black cloak hiding behind a tree.
"if you're going to kill somepony at least use a different weapon, you child of Grogar!" CC yelled as she spun around to look out the window, a rage bigger than any of the ponies had seen in her eyes.
the pony outside twitched at the yell.
CC then teleported outside and continued yelling at the dark purple unicorn.
"what's going on?" Sunny asked, gently rubbing her eye with her hoof.
"there's somepony outside who apparently has killed somepony with some weapon they have. also CC insulted them and is now yelling at them" Zipp explained, leaning her head back against the arm of the chair.
"I hate that spell!" was the loudest thing CC yelled.
by the time the hybrid came back inside, Sunny had fallen asleep on Hitch's shoulder while Sparky was dozing off in the yellow earth pony's lap and both pegasus sisters were snickering at the sight of his reaction.
"you two remind me of Twilight sparkle and Flash sentry. or maybe my parents at the start of their 'friendship'" CC said, waving her hooves up and down to imitate quotation marks at the last word.
the words made the blush tinting Hitch's cheeks flood his face, causing Zipp to burst out laughing with Pipp following close behind.
Misty looked up from her book to look at his face and she couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"the only reason I'm not moving is because there's a baby dragon on my lap" Hitch growled.
"that is reasonable. you do not want to know what Spike was like when he was mad" CC said with a light chuckle as she grabbed a pancake from the large plate still on the kitchen table.
Sunny's eyes fluttered open at all the sound, sitting up from her position.
she looked over at Hitch, confused when she saw his face.
"you okay?" Sunny asked.
"I'm fine, CC is just being annoying" Hitch sighed.
"well I am half draconequus. its in our nature" CC shrugged with a smirk.
"yeah. and I hate that" Hitch replied with a small sigh.
"what did she do?" Sunny questioned.
"she said we're like her parents at the start of their 'friendship'" Hitch groaned.
the sentence made her face flood red faster than she could blink.
"but you were never evil" she squeaked.
"nah, he's more like my mom than my dad" CC smirked before taking a bite of the pancake.
Sunny spun around in her seat and slammed her front hooves against the back of the couch.
"I was never evil!" she cried out, her wings spreading out wide.
"not in this world" CC laughed.
"what's that supposed to mean?" Zipp asked, now sitting in the armchair.
"there's many different worlds and timelines with many different versions of everypony. I can't decide which alternate timeline is my favorite, nightmare moon timeline or chrysalis timeline. neither of them have racism but there's different reasons I find them interesting" CC explained, quickly finishing off the pancake and hopping up to sit on the table.
"what makes them so interesting?" Pipp questioned as Sunny calmed down and went back to resting her head on Hitchs shoulder.
"well the nightmare moon timeline has the original elements, never destroyed. never properly anyways. in that timeline 'the spark' that triggered Twilight's element to appear never happened. so in that timeline, Sunny is the one who gets 'the spark'. if that timeline was a book, I would highly recommend it" CC explained as she summoned a white chocolate mug filled with glass.
"what about the 'chrysalis timeline'?" Izzy asked, still sitting at her desk.
"I'm always interested in forbidden romance" CC smirked, giving a small gesture with the mug towards Zipp.
"forbidden romance?" Zipp repeated the words.
"in that timeline changelings never reformed and they also have this cream thing that drops their disguises. so, forbidden romance" CC explained, gesturing to Zipp again.
"between who!?" the white pegasus exclaimed.
"you and a changeling" CC shrugged before sipping from the cup.
"wha-" Zipp stuttered at the sentence.
"oh my. in laws" Pipp chuckled.
Zipp rolled her eyes at the words.
"hey Sunny! wanna visit the crystal empire? I'm not very good with information on being an alicorn since I ain't one but Flurry and Aurora must have lots!" CC suddenly yelled.
"sure, sure. I just need to go tie up my mane" Sunny sighed as she stood up off the couch.
"we'll probably be away a few days so have fun!" CC said before both she and Sunny teleported away.
Izzy shook her head at the hybrids antics with a small smile before turning her attention to the craft she was working on.
