Haunted Hills
The waiting is the worst part.
For the past month I have waited. Ever since the Reaper exterminated the skeleton-man, I have been hunted. Never would those so called 'Council of Heroes' think to search here, where all the ghosts and ghouls reside. As of late there has been a surge of the undead wandering outdoors, but they know better than to approach. In a way they act as my defense, the one thing that keeps everyone away.
Just yesterday, a rock from the sky struck the center of the island. An omen from the gods perhaps? Indeed, I think it is. My squire, who had been missing for some time, returned with news of a man called Omega. This Omega claims to want to rule by my side. To that I say nay. Only I possess the power to rule; only I will hold the throne, with my Red Knight by my side. I have just sent the Reaper to rid myself of this Omega, and he will not fail this time, or else I have such a vengeance planned for him. He will return bearing Omega's head, and then the conquest of the Island can begin.
Black Knight-Day 190
The Crater
Not even a day later and the asteroid had been surrounded.
Squad Leader had ordered a complete lockdown of the crash site, which meant a makeshift research facility inside the crater. At the center was the Asteroid, where he now stood looking, deep in thought.
At the moment this is where all the heroes were stationed until further notice. It's not that the asteroid itself was dangerous anymore, but rather what had been inside of it. There was a tunnel in the asteroid, and inside was a capsule big enough to hold a man. Said capsule was like nothing ever seen on the island, and even worse, it was open and empty.
Rumors ran rampant fast. Aliens was the most popular one (despite having very non-human people on the Island). But Venturion had offered a more likely and more frightening possibility: the asteroid was planned to crash, not just by nature's course. Hence why all the heroes stood on guard until Squad Leader finally spoke on his commlink.
"Get me Carbide down here pronto!"
There stood the leader, not moving a muscle, though Carbide knew that he knew that he was approaching. It was hard not to hear the hard metal footsteps approaching from behind.
"What is it sir?"
Squad Leader reached into his belt and took out what looked like a shard of glass, but had actually come from the asteroid. It glowed a bright purple, and had purple smoke floating up from it. Again, like nothing anyone had seen before.
"I had Venturion run some tests on these rocks, see if we could figure out what they are or where they're from. Suffice to say we don't have answers to either. What he did find out was that these have a sort of anti-gravity property, so if used properly it can allow someone or something to defy gravity. For the time being we're calling them Hop Rocks, and we've just had a whole truckload of 'em go missing."
"Gone? Just vanished?"
"Completely without a trace. The trailer of the truck was just gone this morning. That was the only truck in our blind spot of our cameras, so the theif knew what he was doing."
"Do you think it was one of our escaped criminals from the prison? Maybe it was the man in the black suit."
"Not him. If It was he would have left footprints. As I said, there was no trace. We're dealing with a flyer. This is your priority now: find that truckload and find the thief. Bring him back so we can deal with him accordingly. Understood?"
"Sir yes sir."
"Now go get 'em."
"Aaaaaand Cut! That's a wrap, people!"
Cheers erupted from the set of the Island's first movie as the filming process finally came to a close. The long, grueling process was finally over, and Abstrakt couldn't be happier. Now he wouldn't have to deal with Zoey's constant nagging anymore-
"Hey director!"
Spoke to soon. He could feel her standing behind her, all dressed in her bubblegum pink outfit.
"What is it now, Zoey? We're done with filming, you can go home."
"I was just wondering if I could take home some of these props? They look so cool!"
"Sure, sure, whatever you want."
"And what are we doing with the rocket?"
"We're leaving that here. Who knows if we'll want to do a sequel?"
"Okie dokie! Thanks!" And away she went on her merry way.
The filming process had brought the crew to a giant cliffside where the set team went all out, more so than they needed to. In the side of the cubic mountain, they had carved out a super villain base, complete with enough space for a full-size rocket. Abstrakt had tried to say that they could use CGI, but the practical effects team insisted on, well, practical effects. The rocket was hollow inside, but it made for one hell of a centerpiece.
Well, in any case, it was time to start the actual editing process. That would be fun, since it had never been done before. Abstrakt considered himself a pioneer of the art, and maybe they'd even start studying his work in the future. He could leave the base and rocket here as a tourist attraction for all to see. Yeah, that was a good idea.
He watched as the final person left the mountain. There he was, hiding in the shadows, observing, and this was the perfect place. The time was coming soon that this reality would finally be free, and this was where it would start. Lying far below was a trailer full of anti-gravity gems, and they were the key to his success. Now, to grab the trailer, and to begin the construction, hidden away where no one would think to look.
Haunted Hills
It had been three days since the Black Knight had sent the Reaper to kill Omega, and still he had not returned. It was not the fear of him failing that sent the Knight into his current state, but rather the sheer anger he felt towards him. The Knight was not known for his patience.
"Is something troubling you, love?"
His loyal lover and compatriot, the Red Knight, asked. For hours now the Knight had been brooding until it was pitch black outside, for there was nothing better to do.
"When I see that assassin again, he shall know the true meaning of pain. I will not keep incompetent lackeys under my rule."
"Then what of the two women that are left? What shall you about them?"
"I will venture off to finish what the assassin started. If I wish something to be done, I must do it myself, and I will once the failure returns The undead outside will make sure this place is secure while I am away."
"I wish to join you. They humiliated me just the same. The colorful one must suffer."
"Your wish will be granted, my love," he said as they joined hands. "We will hide no longer."
"Indeed- "The Red Knight spoke just as a ruckus started outside. The sounds of the undead could be heard clear as day through the walls, and the sounds were those of pain.
Who could do such a thing? No one would dare risk becoming one- And the Black Knights' thoughts were answered as the wooden entrance exploded inward with such force that it sent the Red Knight flying backwards.
"What in the devil's name is this?!" The Black Knight yelled as he stood up from his chair, his fury blazing.
The Red Knight then drew her sword and stood in a protective fashion in front of the Black Knight, yelling "Get behind me, my love!"
"Show yourself, demon! Do not cower in the shadow!" And as he spoke, an object was tossed through the door.
No.
"I send you a request for an ally, and in return I get an assassin!? You disappoint me, Knight. The assassin sends his regards." The silhouette spoke, and the Black Knight looked at his feet and saw the severed head of the Reaper looking at him with lifeless, bloodshot eyes. It was as if the head was ripped straight off the body. There were no words to describe the Knight's disbelief other than pure shock.
"Let me show you just how effective he was at his job", the silhouette spoke as he stepped into the light. There stood Omega, dressed in his metal black outfit, with not a scratch on him except for massive amounts of blood. It wasn't his.
"I am here to make you reconsider my offer. This is your only chance."
"You heathen!" The Red Knight shouted as she charged at Omega, sword pointed straight at his chest. The blade collided with Omega's chest and shattered immediately. The Black Knight could only watch helplessly as in one quick motion, Omega reached straight for the Red Knight's head, and before she could even react, he twisted his hands and a snap was heard across the room.
"So the decision is made. I offer you a quick death. I suggest you accept."
There he stood, this Omega, as if to taunt him.
"You offer me a quick death? Nay," The last Knight said as he brandished his sword from its sheath. "You shall not dishonor me further. May you rot in all the hells that ever were." And as the Knight stood his ground, blade at the ready, Omega approached.
When he was within striking distance, Omega punched with his right. The Knight evaded. Left hook. The Knight dodged. With Omega off balance, the Knight made one hefty swing aimed straight for Omega's neck. The blade struck but left only a scratch, and that was when all hope was lost as Omega stood back up.
He grabbed the Knight's sword by the blade and crushed it with his fist. "There will only ever be one ruler of this island, and I will be the one." Omega grabbed the Knight by the neck with a firm grasp as the Knight struggled for air. "If I am to rot in hell, you should prepare for my arrival." With that final statement Omega punched straight forward with his fist, right through the Knight's midsection. The last thing the Black Knight saw was the emotionless, cold visage of Omega's mask.
Fools, Omega thought to himself. All of them. There he stood amongst the dead, with blood covering his body. He scratched my armor. That cannot happen again. I require an upgrade. Up until now Omega had been wearing a form-fitting metal black suit, but before him lay a man with plenty of black armor, and so Omega had an idea. What better way to assert myself than to wear the armor of their greatest threat. With that final thought Omega took the Black Knight's once great armor to reforge it into something better.
3 Weeks Later
Loot Lake was one of the most private parts of the island, seeing as how it was a single house on a small island surrounded by water on all sides. Hence why the Squad Leader had decided this would be the perfect place for him and Carbide to meet, to keep away from unwanted ears. And there was Carbide, flying in from the skies, coming in for a landing. His blue armor and silver mask shining in the sun was truly a sight to behold.
"You asked for me, sir?" Carbide asked as he planted his feet.
"I did indeed. I think we have our culprit for who stole the stones."
"Who?"
The Leader motioned with his hand. "Let's talk inside. I don't want anyone listening."
The two of them walked in and took a seat on the bottom floor.
"So who was it sir?"
The Squad Leaders' brow furrowed. "Just yesterday Valor was investigating Haunted Hills after reports that the undead were all, well, dead, and what she found was a bloody massacre. You remember the Black Knight, right?"
"Who could forget?"
"We don't have to worry about him anymore, or his Red Knight. They're both dead in ways we've never seen. The Red Knight's neck was snapped, and the Black Knight had a fist punched right through his chest. There was also the severed head of someone we don't know. These deaths, plus the ones at the Titled incident, are the start of what I fear to be a very dangerous trend. We need to put a stop to the spread of this cancer before it gets any further."
"I'd love to, sir, but what does these have to do with the rocks?"
"You remember Omega, the man in the black suit?"
"I do."
"He's the only one strong enough to put a hole through a man in armor, as well as haul a whole trailer of rocks away. We knew he was dangerous, but after the prison was struck we lost track of him. Well, now we know what he's capable of."
Carbide stood up with a newfound sense of urgency. "So what should we do about him?"
"We tell everyone to keep an eye out for him. We now know death is permanent unlike when we fought before we got here. The goal is to keep people alive by any means necessary. If Omega makes any sort of appearance, we have to be there on the spot. Until then, I'll tell the rest of the group what I've just told you." The Leader stood up and put his hand on Carbide's shoulder. "You're the best of the best, Carbide. If Omega shows up, you lead the charge. I'm going to do my own personal investigation into the missing stones and where they might have gone." The Leader removed his hand. "Head back to the asteroid compound and wait for any news. Maybe Omega will soon want the source of the rocks. Clear?"
"Yes sir!" Carbide gave a salute, and the Leader returned it. Carbide then walked outside, activated his jet boots, and flew off.
An Unknown Location
The darkness was lit up by sparks flaring in the air, caused by the forging of armor. The Black Knight's armor proved to be a perfect match for Omega's previous suit. The armor, mixed with technology crafted by Omega, was going to make him more powerful than ever before. Now the armor was outfitted with flying capabilities, a tactical visor, and a near-indestructible outer coating of metal. The final piece was now finished; the chestpiece, which he then adorned. Now, fully equipped, the armor's lines glowed with an orange aura. The age of Omega has arrived, and woe to any who oppose me.
