It's 2025 - f*ck it. Elite Force Season 2. After rewatching the franchise, this is - in my semi-expert opinion - where I believe the showrunners were going with Elite Force following 'The Attack'. 1 Chapter is 1 episode, 20-minute sitcom style, just as the style of the show; written in screenplay format. Ep 20 is up now: Mr Davenport is stressed - and why is there a cat in the lab?

1. Episode 1: Whose Side Are You On?

ELITE FORCE: Season 2, Episode 1

"Whose Side Are You On?"

Roman, Riker and Reece have the superhero list, and Rodissius has his sights on one thing: revenge on the girl who attacked him. When the Elite Force has to rescue one of their own, they encounter a villain they never expected: Bree.

FADE IN.

SCENE ONE.
EXT. CENTIUM CITY - STREET - NIGHT.
(KAZ and OLIVER stalk through the city streets, on high alert. The streets are deserted, remnants of fights scattered everywhere in the form of tipped over trash cans, abandoned cars, etc. Concern is riddled on both of their faces as they look around. After a moment, SKYLAR superspeeds in, skidding to a halt beside them, closely followed by BREE from the opposite direction).

SKYLAR
West of the City is clear.

BREE
So's the East. There's no sign of them anywhere.

OLIVER
Jeez, you'd think with 13 children there would at least be one of them like, I don't know, just in the supermarket or something. (KAZ, SKYLAR, and BREE give him a pointed look; he defends himself). I mean, when you think about it, the probability is on our side. Just sayin'.

KAZ
(Looking around, concerned)
I don't have a good feeling about this, guys.

BREE
(Scoffing)
What gave it away? The abandoned city, or my blind uncle crippled by Chase's psycho girlfriend?

KAZ
To be perfectly honest, I don't think any of us saw the Reece thing coming, so I'm going to say the city.

SKYLAR
Can we please focus? Rodissius has the superhero list! The longer we stand here, the longer everyone is in danger. (Sighs) I wish I could talk to Crossbow and warn her.

OLIVER
(Comforting)
Crossbow is on high alert, Skylar. All the Superheroes are. You heard Chase - we'll fight this war, and we will win. You're the one who did this hands-in thing, right? With your beautiful… (distracts himself) beautiful… hands…

KAZ
Okay, I go for way more manicures than Skylar does, and you never compliment my cuticles.

BREE
Okay! Enough being creepy, please. Can we get back to the penthouse? Chase is going to be tearing himself apart and I don't want him to be alone for much longer.

(Off screen, a voice booms to alert the Force of his presence - RODIUSSIUS).

RODISSIUS
Then you maybe should have thought of that before you attacked me.

(A dramatic pause. BREE, SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ turn, widening their stances, glancing at each other, making fists and finally staring at RODISSIUS, stood in the street in front of them. They prepare for a fight).

OLIVER
Well… if it isn't Rod.

ROLL TITLES.

SCENE TWO.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - NIGHT.
(CHASE is working at a console, pouring something into a beaker, scribbling out and rewriting formulae in a book, typing something into the console. His face is thunder. DOUGLAS sits on a nearby chair, a damp cloth over his eyes with his head back. He has an EKG monitor on his head, and after a beep on the console, CHASE, satisfied, begins to peel the EKG stickers away. CHASE is doing his best to help, but his mind is far away, somewhere else).

CHASE
Okay, the vitals in your brain seem to be stabilising. How's your vision?

DOUGLAS
Well… good news and bad news. I am starting to see again.

CHASE
(Hopeful)
Really? That's great!

DOUGLAS
The bad news is, the only thing I can see is a vast void of dark nothingness.

CHASE
(Unamused)
Seriously? You couldn't have continued your sentence without pausing in between?

DOUGLAS
Well, you could have run a background check on your girlfriend before bringing her home to meet the family. We all make mistakes.

CHASE
Do you want me to fix you or not?

DOUGLAS
(Sighs)
Yes please.

(CHASE turns back to his beakers and vials on the countertop).

CHASE
I think I'm nearly there. If Rodissius's family are shape shifters, going off of what I know about these "magic witch pebble" freaks, this formula should be enough to combat it and regenerate the cells in your retinae.

DOUGLAS
You should maybe ease off on the whole "magic witch pebble freak" thing, you know, considering your sister is one of them now.

CHASE
Yeah, don't remind me. I'm tempted to rig her capsule to get rid of them.

DOUGLAS
You can do that?

CHASE
I don't know! Science always finds a way. (A pause; CHASE inspects the beaker) Okay, Douglas, this looks just about ready. I'll just fill this pipette so we can drop it into your eyes slowly and we should be good to go.

DOUGLAS
(Awkwardly)
Ooh, is there any way that could be a tablet? I have trouble putting things near my eyes.

CHASE
(At his wit's end)
Just do it!

SCENE THREE.
EXT. CENTIUM CITY - STREET - NIGHT.
(KAZ, OLIVER, SKYLAR and BREE are engaged in an intense fight with RODISSIUS. KAZ fires rapid-fire flames at RODISSIUS, which he effortlessly dodges, whilst BREE roundhouse kicks him. SKYLAR pulls an energy blast into her hands and fires it at RODISSIUS, who dodges it, catches it, and sends it straight at OLIVER. OLIVER is hit square in the chest and skids back).

SKYLAR
Oliver!

(SKYLAR runs to OLIVER and helps him stagger to his feet. A black swarm suddenly fills the sky, hissing into view. It morphs into being in front of KAZ and BREE: ROMAN, RIKER, and REECE. RODISSIUS laughs maniacally).

RODISSIUS
Children! Right on time.

RIKER
Evening, father.

REECE
You didn't think we would let you have all the fun, did you?

BREE
(Furious)
You are going down!

(A huge fight explodes into action with BREE superspeeding towards REECE. BREE fights REECE, OLIVER fights ROMAN, KAZ fights RIKER, and SKYLAR fights RODISSIUS. They all spar for a few moments, panning between each of the four fights. It's intense, BREE, OLIVER, KAZ and SKYLAR throwing everything they have at the villains. Then suddenly out of nowhere, ROMAN fires a ball of golden energy in BREE's direction).

KAZ
Bree, look out!

(But it is too late. ROMAN's fire hits BREE square in the back, knocking her forwards, She cries out but before she can even hit the ground, REECE and RIKER grab her each by an arm).

SKYLAR
Bree!

(ROMAN fires his powers at SKYLAR; SKYLAR flies back a few feet, and when she lands, she, KAZ and OLIVER watch as ROMAN, RIKER and REECE shapeshift into their swarm, carrying RODISSIUS and BREE away into the night).

SKYLAR
No!

(SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ are left to stare in shock at the space where BREE once filled, silence falling on them as no one knows what to say).

SCENE FOUR.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - NIGHT.
(CHASE is packing away his materials, DOUGLAS now sporting two eyepatches. CHASE looks solemn, concentrating).

CHASE
There - that should do it. By my calculations, you should have partial sight returning in a few hours, and hopefully by the end of the week you'll be back to normal.

DOUGLAS
Thanks, Chase.

(The stone door to the tunnels slides open and SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER come jogging in from their failed recon mission. KAZ carries a mission bag, and places it on the floor next to the wall. CHASE turns to greet them).

CHASE
Hey guys, how did the- (He stops himself, looking at the three suited heroes, rather than the four he expected. He peers past their shoulder to the tunnels) Where's Bree?

(Silence as KAZ, OLIVER, and SKYLAR look at each other. CHASE hardens his expression).

CHASE
(Fear rising)
Where's Bree?

SKYLAR
Rodissius took her.

CHASE
(Blinks, processing)
Wh-what? No…

KAZ
I'm so sorry, man, we got jumped by the "Evil Brady Bunch" out there and we got outnumbered. They were so powerful - we couldn't stop it in time.

(CHASE, angry, pounds his fist on the cyberdesk).

CHASE
I am going to destroy them!

SKYLAR
(Placatingly, laying a hand on his shoulder)
Chase, we're going to get her back, alright?

CHASE
(Brushing SKYLAR away)
Of course we're going to get her back. That's not even a question.

OLIVER
How's Douglas?

DOUGLAS
I'll be fine, I just have to wait it out.

CHASE
(Furiously typing, pale)
I can get her back, I can track her chip if I - (he swallows) if I -

(A harsh "error" message appears on the cyberdesk, briefly flashing red).

CHASE
Ugh, I typed the code in wrong.

SKYLAR
Chase, your hands are shaking. Take a deep breath, alright? What's the code, I'll type it in.

(CHASE pauses, hesitating, and then, doing what SKYLAR says, he begins to tell her as she types).

CHASE
Seven, dash, fifteen, equals colon, hyphen, six -

(CHASE and SKYLAR fade as we focus on KAZ, OLIVER and DOUGLAS. KAZ and OLIVER are searching another desk, the one DOUGLAS is sitting at, for the superhero list).

KAZ
They took everything... they're unstoppable now.

DOUGLAS
My thumb print can activate a security perimeter around the penthouse and mission command. I'll set it off once you guys are gone, then nothing more will be able to get in or out without the proper authorisation.

(A beep of triumph sounds from CHASE and SKYLAR's desk, a hologram map appearing in front of them. A red dot, flashing "BREE", appears on the map).

SKYLAR
Got it!

CHASE
(Sigh of relief)
There! See, she hasn't gone far. It looks like a warehouse on the south side of town… they must be holding her there.

OLIVER
Someone should stay here with Douglas whilst the rest of us-

DOUGLAS
No. Perry and I will batten down the hatches. You need all the man-power you can get with Rodissius.

CHASE
Douglas, are you sure?

DOUGLAS
(Blindly, he puts his hands on OLIVER's shoulder)
Go, Chase….

CHASE
Over here, Douglas.

DOUGLAS
Right… (He puts his hands on CHASE's shoulders). Go get your sister back.

CHASE
(Determined)
Trust me. I will.

(CHASE, SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ share a look, ready for a fight, and with a final push, run off into the tunnels).

SCENE FIVE.
INT. WAREHOUSE - NIGHT.
(A small room in a large warehouse, run down and packed full of boxes. At the centre of it, standing neutral with her eyes closed as though she is sleeping in her capsule, is BREE. She is no longer in her mission suit but is now dressed in all black clothes, resembling the outfits of ROMAN, RIKER, and REECE. She slowly blinks awake, looking around on an inbreath).

BREE
(Groggily)
Where am I? (Calling) Skylar? Kaz? Oliver?

(BREE tries to move forwards, but she is stuck. As if some invisible force is holding her down, she cannot move anything from her neck down, standing there. She struggles, trying to move).

BREE
Huh? What's going on? Why can't I move?

(Emerging from the shadows, RODISSIUS stalks forwards towards her. BREE jumps out of her skin).

BREE
(Bitterly)
You know, I am going to put a bell on you the second I can move my arms again.

RODISSIUS
I wouldn't count on that.

BREE
What are you talking about? What did you do to me?

(RODISSIUS sighs contentedly. He paces past BREE, who watches him warily, as he pulls a small black box from the pocket of his coat. It's a remote control of some kind).

RODISSIUS
Well, you see, after you so rudely attacked me with your "flashlight hands" -

BREE
That's not their name -

RODISSIUS
Whatever you want to call them, it wasn't very well-mannered of you.

BREE
Neither was your daughter manipulating my brother into a relationship. Still happened.

RODISSIUS
Yes, but we're allowed. We're evil.

BREE
I mean, fair enough if you're owning it.

(RODISSIUS stares flatly at BREE, huffing a half-hearted laugh).

RODISSIUS
You have a sense of humour. That's good. I like to laugh with my children. It will make this process so much easier.

BREE
(Fear rising, but trying to keep calm)
What process? What are you talking about?

RODISSIUS
See, I got to thinking - after you blasted me - how can a bionic hero have superpowers? It's not like your little chip got a super-upgrade, did it? I mean, I would know, I checked the schematics.

BREE
(Urgently)
How do you have my schematics?

RODISSIUS
I shapeshifted into a student on your family's precious little island school. It was relatively easy, really, your brothers are very patient teachers. They say "hi" by the way.

(BREE tries to lurch forwards and realises she still cannot move).

BREE
What did you do to my brothers?

RODISSIUS
They are perfectly safe! Don't worry. It's not them I want… it's you.

BREE
Me?

RODISSIUS
I said I wanted every superhero destroyed, didn't I? You have superpowers now, and I think, by definition, that makes you a superhero. Yes, I was going to destroy you. Was. And then you attacked me and I thought that you really are far too precious of a resource to waste. So I "borrowed" some of your Daddy's technology and fashioned this handy remote. (A pause, he shows her). These buttons make you my little robot girl. As long as it's active, it overrides everything you do, everything you say. I have complete control over you, Bree… complete… control.

(RODISSIUS grins at her, and BREE tries to use her proton ring. She struggles, unable to move).

RODISSIUS
If you're trying to use your superpowers, that won't work either. My override remote controls your every move, your every muscle. Nothing you do will be without my command… welcome to the dark side, daughter.

BREE
You won't get away with this!

RODISSIUS
I think it looks like I already have… see this? Turn your attention to the screen; I'll let you move your head to get a better look.

(RODISSIUS presses some buttons on the remote and BREE's head jolts to the side to see a screen on the wall. The screen flickers into life, showing security footage of CHASE, SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER, clad in mission suits, skidding to a halt outside the warehouse. They all look concerned, CHASE leading the pack, using his bionic eye to scan the building).

BREE
(Smugly)
Looks like your time's up, Rod.

RODISSIUS
That's cute, but it's not my time that's up - it's theirs. And you're going to be the one to tell them.

BREE
What? What are you- (BREE's mouth clamps shut and she tries to form sound through it but cannot. She looks at RODISSIUS, terrified).

RODISSIUS
Call me a puppeteer if you will - your vocal manipulation is a fantastic ability for me to override. Between that and controlling your every move, they'll be none the wiser it isn't you… (he smiles) and you won't be able to tell them.

(Focus in on BREE staring at him, breathing, realising that there's nothing she can do).

MIDWAY BREAK

SCENE SIX.
EXT. WAREHOUSE - NIGHT.
(CHASE, SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER are outside a corrugated door, just as they were in the feed that was streaming to RODISSIUS and BREE. CHASE has his finger to his temple, using his bionic eye to scan the warehouse. SKYLAR watches him, apprehensive, and KAZ and OLIVER stand watching their surroundings, fists ready to fight).

CHASE
I'm getting two heat signatures. One of them must be Bree, I'm guessing the other is Rodissius.

KAZ
What about Roman, Riker and Reece?

CHASE
I don't know - they're not there. They would pick up on a heat signature scan, right? I mean, I would have been sure up until today, but you super freaks may as well be cold blooded reptiles the way you disregard everything else-

SKYLAR
(Defensive but calm)
Chase, don't go taking it out on us, alright? We're not the ones that took Bree.

CHASE
(Mumbling under his breath)
Yeah well, you are the ones who let her get away.

OLIVER
Hey! Don't take that tone with her. What would you have done if you were there, Einstein? Recited pi until they left out of boredom?

CHASE
I might have tried to fight back-

KAZ
We did everything we could, Chase! You're supposed to be the smartest guy in the world and you were outsmarted by a pretty girl. If anything, this is all your fault.

CHASE
(Incredulous)
My fault?

(KAZ and CHASE square up to each other, defensive, tensions rising)

KAZ
Yeah! This is on you. If it weren't for you, the superhero list would have never been stolen, and not only would our (gestures between himself, OLIVER and SKYLAR) friends be safe, but we wouldn't be here risking our lives.

CHASE
Well I'm sorry it's such an inconvenience to do your job.

SKYLAR
Guys. Stop it.

KAZ
I'm just being realistic, Chase! 13 powerful shapeshifters versus four of us - Bree's probably dead already.

CHASE
(Darkening)
Stop talking!

KAZ
No I won't stop talking, because you're such a narcissist that you can't see that because of you that -

(CHASE flies at KAZ, throwing the first punch, knocking him to the ground. KAZ fights back, neither using their powers, until they are wrestling on the ground, throwing rage-filled punches. SKYLAR and OLIVER jump into action to stop it).

OLIVER
Hey!

SKYLAR
(Yelling)
Stop it! Stop it! Both of you.

(SKYLAR and OLIVER run between them and separate them, pulling them to their feet. SKYLAR blocks CHASE from running forwards and OLIVER holds back KAZ. KAZ and CHASE stare at each other, breathing heavily).

KAZ
(To OLIVER, whispering)
Well, don't just stand there, use your super strength to defend my honour!

OLIVER
I'm not using my super strength on him, Kaz.

KAZ
(Lightly scoffs)
Wow, you have no loyalties.

SKYLAR
Enough. Both of you! We are on the same side! Us tearing each other apart is what Rodissius wants! We're a team, and right now we're down a member, so put your damn egos aside, because otherwise we really won't get her back. Got it?

(A pause; CHASE and KAZ shift their gazes from each other to the floor, mumbling).

CHASE
(Reluctantly)
Yeah, got it.

KAZ
(Looking away)
Got it, sorry.

CHASE
(Mumbling)
I'm sorry.

SKYLAR
Good. Now let's move.

(CHASE pauses, he thinks).

CHASE
I can use my molecular kinesis to open the door. We should have a clear path to Bree from there.

(He uses his molecular kinesis to slide open the door. SKYLAR, CHASE, OLIVER and KAZ run in. Just as they do, a black swarm manifests in front of them, becoming ROMAN, RIKER and REECE. The evil siblings stand watching the Force).

CHASE
Or, you know, we did have a clear path.

REECE
Hey, pookie-bear.

RIKER
You didn't think it'd be that easy, did you?

(A pause as SKYLAR, CHASE, OLIVER and KAZ stare at them, forming into a fighting stance).

OLIVER
I mean, we were sort of hoping, yeah.

CHASE
(Demanding)
Where's my sister?

ROMAN
She's inside, she's very well. She's even come to her senses a bit.

SKYLAR
What are you talking about?

ROMAN
Reece, go and tell Father we have company.

REECE
(Blowing a kiss at CHASE)
See you later, Chasey!

(CHASE is too embarrassed to look at her, or anyone, and REECE disappears in a black swarm and floats away).

SKYLAR
Aren't you going to fight us? You're just going to stand there?

RIKER
We don't need to fight you. Please, come in to our home. We're just here to welcome you.

(RIKER and ROMAN step aside, gesturing for the Force to simply walk in and take BREE. They smile).

KAZ
What? Just like that?

ROMAN
Yeah. Bree's waiting for you, in fact. I'm sure she'd love to see you.

(ROMAN and RIKER disappear in a black swarm, the Force standing, in the now empty room, wary. They look at each other, none wanting to speak, the door still open behind them and the warehouse empty in front of them. Suddenly, a door to another room opens and BREE enters. BREE moves stiltedly, being controlled, walking to the centre of the room. Her expression is neutral).

SKYLAR
Bree!

(CHASE, SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER run towards her, their faces a picture of relief, CHASE a step ahead of the others. CHASE grabs BREE's shoulders, looking her over frantically).

CHASE
Are you alright? Did they hurt you?

KAZ
(Suspicious)
Wait, where's your mission suit?

(Rigidly, BREE pushes CHASE's arms away from her. She looks at CHASE).

BREE
(Neutral)
You shouldn't be here.

CHASE
Yeah - neither should you. Come on.

(CHASE grabs her wrist and tries to pull her, but she doesn't move. She yanks her arm free and back to herself).

OLIVER
Bree, you okay?

SKYLAR
Something's wrong…

BREE
I'm not coming with you. I'm not one of you anymore. I've joined Rodissius' side.

(Slowly BREE's voice phases into RODISSIUS as we cut to RODISSIUS, standing in a dark room, speaking into the remote, telling her what to say, REECE, ROMAN and RIKER standing proudly behind their father).

BREE/RODISSIUS
I know this may be hard to understand, but Rodissius has helped me realise that I am stronger than all of you, and superheroes must prevail among mortals.

(This phases back to just BREE, standing facing the rest of the Force, who look shocked).

BREE
I am not coming back to the Elite Force. I work for Rodissius.

CHASE
(Firmly)
Bree-

BREE
Go, Chase. We're not on the same side anymore. We're not a family. Go.

KAZ
What are you talking about-

(BREE, with tears in her eyes, spreads out her hands. The purple beams of "flashlight hands" powers appear, and she slams them together, creating an electric force between her palms. The others watch on, stunned).

BREE
(Almost herself, pleadingly)
If you don't go, I am going to kill you.

SKYLAR
Bree, this isn't you. Come on, you have to come home with us. If you-

(Heartlessly, BREE fires her power at SKYLAR. It hits her square in the stomach and she flies across the room. OLIVER runs to SKYLAR, helping her stand as she struggles; CHASE looks at BREE with disbelief, KAZ torn between BREE and SKYLAR).

CHASE
(Hand to his temple)
I can't override her bionics, I don't know what's going on!

(BREE readies another purple ball of energy, firing it directly at CHASE. CHASE expertly flips away).

CHASE
Seriously? Not cool, Bree!

(BREE readies her proton ring, staring threateningly at the team).

KAZ
(Panic rising)
What do we do?

CHASE
I've been fighting with my sister since before I could talk…. (CHASE activates his laser bo with a determined expression) I got this.

(A fight explodes into action. BREE fires her proton ring at CHASE, who swipes it away with his bo. BREE is puppeted into fighting her team. She leaps backwards, aiming the proton ring again, this time at KAZ. She hits him down and OLIVER fires an ice blast at BREE's shoulder. BREE is hit, but is not down for long. She super-speeds to SKYLAR and surprise-attacks her from behind, engaging for a moment in one-on-one combat).

CHASE
Try not to hurt her!

OLIVER
We can't even hit girls when they're hitting us? Seems a bit backwards!

CHASE
She's in there somewhere - it must be some version of the Triton app.

BREE
I told you, this is me.

(BREE fights CHASE down, kicking him as she flips to carry her attack onto OLIVER and KAZ, a proton ring soaring at SKYLAR as she flips. BREE lands on her feet, continuing in hand-to-hand combat).

SKYLAR
Bree! Whatever this is, try to fight it! We're your friends!

BREE
(Strained over the fight)
No… you're… not…

(KAZ squeals, ducking, as she fires).

KAZ
Yeah, well, I won't lie, I'm not your friend right now!

SKYLAR
Oliver, use your super strength!

(In a swift disarmament, OLIVER holds BREE tight by her arms as she struggles. SKYLAR, KAZ and CHASE stand heaving from the fight, CHASE looking at BREE in disbelief. He squares up to her directly, his gaze unchanging, staring at her face, narrowing his eyes).

CHASE
(Searching her eyes for an answer)
Why are you doing this?

BREE
Get… away… from me…

(BREE musters up the energy around her, the crackling blue energy of her thermonuclear blast surrounding her as she stares at CHASE. She gathers the energy…)

KAZ
She's really not going to stop…

CHASE
She has to. (Growing desperate) Come on, Bree! It's me! It's Chase!

SKYLAR
Chase, get down!

CHASE
No! She's my-

(Before CHASE can finish, BREE's blast fires out, violently knocking back KAZ, SKYLAR, OLIVER and CHASE. BREE stands in the centre of the warehouse as CHASE, KAZ, SKYLAR and OLIVER fly through the air, hitting against walls and collapsing unconscious to the floor. Silence. Focus on BREE, who looks distraught at what she has done. She tries to yell, but cannot).

(RODISSIUS stalks out of the side door and into the main warehouse, crossing over to BREE, heartlessly stepping over bodies. BREE cannot move, cannot speak, just stares at him. He waves the remote control tauntingly, then presses a button. BREE's entire body slumps as she regains control).

BREE
No!

(She runs to SKYLAR first, who is closest, checking her pulse).

BREE
What did you make me do? How could you do this?

RODISSIUS
I think we've been over how easy it was. Now, how did you enjoy your first fight on the right side of history, daughter?

BREE
I am not your daughter!

(CHASE stirs from where he is lying. BREE hears him, looks over, and runs).

BREE
Chase…

(RODISSIUS presses a button, catching her mid-run. She struggles, desperate to get to her brother, but RODISSIUS holds her steady with his override. CHASE stirs).

BREE
Chase! Chase! Ch- (BREE's mouth clamps itself shut and her voice echoes to nothing).

(CHASE, hearing his name, pushes himself into a sitting position. The sound of ROMAN and RIKER shapeshifting echoes to silence along with BREE's yell, and when he looks up, BREE is nowhere to be seen. All he sees is RODISSIUS' silhouette walking, laughing, out of the warehouse).

SCENE SEVEN.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - NIGHT.
(CHASE, SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ are standing around the centre cyber desk. A hologram map, the same as before, is active over the cyber desk, showing "BREE" as a flashing dot. It keeps disappearing and flickering into life again).

CHASE
The signal keeps buffering, it's like someone's turning it off and on again.

OLIVER
Look, I hate to say it, but is there any way at all that she's really turned? I know it doesn't seem possible, but it didn't seem possible with my Mom either, and now - well - family reunions are (singsong) awkward.

KAZ
No, your Mom was always evil, just in secret, Bree's-

CHASE
Bree has been raised to be a hero since we were in diapers. I know her, there's no way she's done this of her own accord. Rodissius has to be controlling her.

SKYLAR
But I thought you said the Triton app made your eyes green.

CHASE
(Baffled)
It does. But Douglas put a block on our chips years ago, it has to be another variant somehow. It would mean they hacked into her schematics but… it's possible.

KAZ
Well then, how do we stop it?

CHASE
The molecular coding of our chip structures doesn't dictate any specific formulae or sequence to be restructured in a wireless digital reset so-

SKYLAR
I know I'm an alien, but I don't think any of us understood that.

CHASE
(Sighs, dumbing it down)
I can't override Bree's bionics if they're already being controlled by an outside source. (A pause. He shrugs, helpless. His voice cracks with emotion). I don't know what to do.

(CHASE zones out, staring at the flickering and fading dot on the map, rubbing his eyes and running a hand through his hair with exhaustion. He is clearly out of his depth, "not knowing what to do" being completely alien to him. SKYLAR, OLIVER and KAZ exchange sympathetic looks at CHASE's expense. There is silence as the gang thinks, then suddenly KAZ has an idea, pointing at OLIVER, their Mighty-Med-Trained brains kicking into gear).

KAZ
Wait a second… Bree's not just bionic anymore. She has superpowers.

CHASE
(Snapping comically)
What part of "don't remind me" don't you understand?

OLIVER
(Catching on)
I think I know what you're saying, Kaz! Bree has two power sources: her bionics, and the Arcturion. If we can't override her chip, then maybe…

KAZ
…We can find a way to use her superpowers to override her whole system.

SKYLAR
Like what? Superpowers are a part of your body, you can't just cancel them out.

OLIVER
(Clicking his fingers in a eureka moment)
No, but all superheroes do have a weakness. Like Skylar's is coal.

KAZ
Exactly! Oliver, your Mom's powers are from the Arcturion too - just like ours and Bree's. I know you don't like to talk about her, but -

OLIVER
(Eagerly, the cogs turning)
No, I'm right with you, buddy! A superhero's weakness comes from the source of their powers itself -

KAZ
- So you, me, Bree, your mom, we must all have the same weakness. In your Mom's comics, there was a Mr Terror Issue where she was kidnapped on her way to destroy earth. And she was captured and held with -

OLIVER
- Copper handcuffs! Copper cancels out the Arcturion's power source and weakens you, so if we find something copper, we can use it against Bree!

(OLIVER and KAZ fist bump at their conclusion - they still got it. But CHASE looks horrified. He stands with his hands on his hips authoritatively).

CHASE
No way! We all saw what happened when Skylar came into contact with coal. It'll hurt her, it's way too dangerous.

SKYLAR
He's right…

CHASE
Thank you, Skylar.

SKYLAR
No… he's right. (She points to KAZ and then OLIVER) Him, and him. Not you. (Pause as CHASE looks betrayed). This is the only way.

(Pause, CHASE thinks, worried. KAZ approaches him, a hand on his shoulder).

KAZ
Look, Chase, I really am sorry about before. I have sisters, and I'd be storming down the door if anyone so much as looked at them the wrong way, so I get it. But if we don't do this, Rodissius is going to use Bree as a soldier to get what he wants, and he is going to stop at nothing until every superhero is wiped out. It's a risk, but the alternative is far worse. (Pause, he looks at CHASE, who is silent). Are you with us?

(Another tense pause, but then CHASE nods).

CHASE
There's some copper wires in a junk drawer upstairs. (He takes a steadying breath) Let's do this.

SCENE TWELVE.
EXT. CENTIUM CITY - STREET - NIGHT.
(RODISSIUS is stood powerfully in the street, with ROMAN, RIKER and REECE pacing, keeping a lookout. BREE stands, wide stance, arms by her side, head up, frozen in place).

ROMAN
After all this time, we finally have the superhero list.

RIKER
All our hard work is finally paying off.

REECE
Your hard work? Please, all you did was stalk and growl. I did the leg work here.

ROMAN
(Suddenly whiney)
C'mon, Reece! We all know you're Dad's favourite - just give us some credit!

RODISSIUS
Enough! You're acting like children. Set an example for your new sister.

BREE
For the last time, I am not your-

(RODISSIUS presses a button and BREE's mouth is clamped shut. She tries to speak then relents. When RODISSIUS takes his finger off the button, she breathes, spits hair out of her mouth, and tries again).

BREE
You know, if you're going to control my every move, can you at least walk me towards a bathroom? I've needed to pee for the last 5 hours.

RODISSIUS
Quit whining. You can pee when you're dead.

BREE
(Unimpressed)
Ew.

(RIKER, eager, stalks towards RODISSIUS and BREE).

RIKER
What now, Father? When do we get to put forwards our plans for world domination?

RODISSIUS
Soon, my son. Have patience.

BREE
You're not going to get away with this! My team will be looking for me as we speak.

RODISSIUS
After last time? After you so rudely turned your friends, your own brother away? Bree, they've abandoned you. You're nothing to them now. You betrayed them, fought them. What makes you think they'll be looking for you?

CHASE
Because I've never once listened to a single thing my sister's said, that's why!

(Attention turns to CHASE, who is stood smugly in a fighting stance, a mission bag in one hand, having ran in. Determined, smirking, he stares at the party he has just dropped in on, SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER skidding to a halt not far behind him. ROMAN, RIKER and REECE prepare to fight, looking at RODISSIUS for the all clear. BREE's eyes light up with relief).

BREE
Chase!

KAZ
(Offended)
And Kaz, Skyler, and Oliver! Jeez, what are we, chopped liver?

RODISSUS
Attack!

(Once again, the fight begins, CHASE versus REECE, SKYLAR versus RIKER, KAZ versus ROMAN, and OLIVER versus BREE. CHASE has activated his laser bo, whilst SKYLAR flips into hand combat, and KAZ uses his fire powers to attack. OLIVER tries his best but doesn't want to hurt BREE, who is being controlled by RODISSIUS to punch OLIVER continuously).

(Failing to dodge)

(Dodges one)
Hey, I got that one- ow!

BREE
Sorry!

(Cut focus to CHASE and REECE; CHASE swipes at REECE with his laser bo, spinning and attacking as she dodges it. He swipes the bo down on her, but she shapeshifts her arm into a sticky block, catching the bo in place as CHASE tugs to try and free it, but failing).

REECE
Oh, pookie-bear. I hate it when we fight. Why don't we kiss and make up?

CHASE
The whole "kidnapping my sister, blinding my uncle" thing might make holidays a little awkward, don't you think?

REECE
I think we can work through it.

CHASE
I think you're delusional.

(He pulls his laser bo out of REECE's hold and re-aims; they continue to spar. Focus shifts to SKYLER fighting RIKER, and KAZ fighting ROMAN. KAZ fires a line of flames at ROMAN, knocking him off balance, and KAZ and SKYLAR exchange a glance, exchanging a brief nod of understanding, SKYLAR fires a blast as RIKER dives left, pushing him backwards into his brother. RIKER stumbles into ROMAN, and KAZ creates a ring of fire, trapping them inside it).

KAZ
(Calling to him)
Chase!

(CHASE turns swiftly from his fight with REECE and with his left arm, launches REECE several feet into the air, using his molecular kinesis to suspend her. With his other arm, whilst ROMAN and RIKER are trapped, he does the same, until, with both hands outstretched and straining, he holds all three of ROMAN, RIKER, and REECE suspended in the air. SKYLAR and KAZ fist bump, proud of themselves).

KAZ
(To ROMAN, RIKER and REECE)
Aw yeah! You just got Fire Stormed!

SKYLAR
I don't want to call it that.

KAZ
You just got Name Pending-ed!

RODISSIUS
No! (He uses the remote) Fight them. Use everything you've got, let's see how you like my puppet's full power!

(BREE's body gathers energy and her whole body begins to glow and tremble. It's clearly too much for her).

BREE
(Scared)
Guys… guys…!

CHASE
Skylar, now!

(SKYLAR uses her superspeed and zips around BREE. When she stops, the light around BREE is fading and we see that she has copper wire wrapped loosely around her body. She looks around, scared, confused, and she pales, fading. RODISSIUS's remote sparks, broken).

RODISSIUS
What's happening!

(BREE falls to the ground, unconscious, and KAZ fires a bolt of fire, knocking the remote out of RODISSIUS' hands. The remote jumps out of his hands and burns to nothing on the ground).

CHASE
(Strained from holding up the three siblings)
You have to extract her chip from her neck or it'll spark!

RODISSIUS
No!

(SKYLAR superspeeds to get the chip extractor from the mission bag and blurs back to BREE's side, crouching down and extracting her chip from the back of her neck. Simultaneously, RODISSIUS runs to fight the others and get BREE for himself, but OLIVER intercepts him).

OLIVER
I don't think so, Rod.

SKYLAR
(With BREE's chip)
Got it!

(OLIVER uses his superstrength to punch RODISSIUS down with a swift blow. RODISSIUS collapses down, and OLIVER and KAZ yank him up to his feet, holding him by each arm).

RODISSIUS
No! I cannot be defeated!

KAZ
(Smugly)
Mm, looks like you just were. Now, how about a nice calm, first class flight to Mighty Max High Security Prison. How about that?

RODISSIUS
No!

(RODISSIUS' cry echoes faintly into nothing as KAZ and OLIVER fly upwards with him, RODISSIUS now completely defeated).

ROMAN
(Restrained in the air)
Father!

(Focus on SKYLAR and BREE, as SKYLAR works to take the copper off of BREE and place it safely away from her. She lies for a second, her breathing laboured, as SKYLAR takes her hand. CHASE, from where he is standing, takes his eyes off of ROMAN, RIKER and REECE, turning to try to look at BREE, concerned).

CHASE
Is she alright?

(With CHASE's focus on his sister, he accidentally takes his hands down from where they are holding their captors, momentarily freeing ROMAN, RIKER and REECE).

SKYLAR
Chase, look out!

(CHASE turns as ROMAN and RIKER strike. SKYLAR fires a blast at the brothers, sending ROMAN and RIKER flying and crashing against a wall. They fall to the floor, gathering themselves; CHASE looks shocked at SKYLAR, processing that she has just saved his life, when he suddenly sees BREE behind her. REECE is turning into a swarm and hovering over BREE, who is beginning to twitch back to consciousness on the ground. CHASE's expression darkens).

CHASE
Get away from her!

(CHASE runs at the swarm and without thinking, uses his forcefield, throwing it at the swarm. The swarm pulses weakly and REECE tumbles out from it, destroying the swarm and landing on the ground. CHASE activates his laser bo, standing over REECE, as REECE backs away from him on the ground, fear in her eyes. SKYLAR, by now, has positioned herself defensively where ROMAN and RIKER are defeated, stopping them from running. ROMAN and RIKER are watching CHASE and REECE).

CHASE
You think you can hurt my family? My team? I will destroy you for what you did.

REECE
You really… thought… someone would actually like you… (She weakly coughs) You're so pathetic, Chase. Go ahead… do your worst.

(CHASE raises his laser bo over his head, aiming it to crash down onto REECE).

CHASE
Say goodbye, Reece.

RIKER
(Desperately)
Reece! No!

(Suddenly everything stops for CHASE. Everything shifts into slow motion as CHASE hesitates, stopping his laser bo from hitting REECE. He looks over at ROMAN and RIKER, who are staring, helpless and distraught, at their sister. He watches the fear in ROMAN and RIKER's eyes, as ROMAN cannot look away and RIKER reaches out desperately for REECE.

CHASE looks at REECE, who has fear in her expression as he stands over her. REECE shields her eyes from CHASE, curling up in fear. In that moment, all he sees is two brothers terrified for their sister.

Finally, CHASE looks at BREE, beginning to stir a little more. Final shot of CHASE's torn expression, thinking, and finally, everything speeds up to normal. He relents, and deactivates the laser bo, standing back).

CHASE
(Whispering to REECE)
Run. Run, and never come back.

(REECE shapeshifts into her cloud, and when CHASE nods at SKYLAR, she steps back and ROMAN and RIKER shapeshift into their swarm as well. The black swarms morph into one, and that one swarm disappears through the night sky. CHASE and SKYLAR watch it go, and then turn around to BREE. CHASE, followed quickly by SKYLAR, runs to BREE's side, helping her turn over onto her back as he checks her vitals, gently pulling her into sitting, concern peppered over his features as they finally reunite).

SCENE THIRTEEN.
INT. MISSION COMMAND - MORNING.
(CHASE, BREE, OLIVER, KAZ, SKYLAR and DOUGLAS are in mission command. DOUGLAS, whose left eye is healing, but his right eye still has an eyepatch on, types something in on the cyberdesk. SKYLAR, KAZ and OLIVER watch on as BREE sits on a stool, holding her hair up behind her head as CHASE works at her neck. CHASE stands behind BREE, the portable chip extractor in hand. A "whoosh" sound from the cyberdesk and a "click" from the chip extractor signals CHASE is done. He puts down the chip extractor and BREE drops her hair).

CHASE
There. All done.

DOUGLAS
Your bionics should be back to normal, and I installed a new firewall on both of your chips, which means no overrides like that will ever be able to happen again.

BREE
(Relieved)
Thanks. I can't believe I had to fight all of you.

SKYLAR
I can't believe you won! I thought you were still a rookie with those superpowers.

DOUGLAS
Well, regardless, you guys did incredibly. Rodissius is locked up, and Centium City is safe from another villain.

KAZ
Yup! Just his thirteen delinquent brats that we have absolutely no idea who or where they are to go, and then we're done here!

SKYLAR
(Arms crossed)
Yeah, why did you let them go, Chase? You had Reece right where you wanted her.

(CHASE shrugs, claiming innocence, but BREE narrows her eyes in suspicion at him).

CHASE
(Quietly)
I don't know - I guess they were just too fast.

OLIVER
How're your eyes, Douglas?

DOUGLAS
(Brushing it off)
Ah, I'm fine. It'll heal. Plus, I kind of like the eye patch. Very "evil chic", don't you think?

BREE
I thought you retired "evil chic" years ago.

DOUGLAS
(Shrugging)
The fashion might come back around! I still have all my leather coats in my closet. You know, just in case.

(A pause).

KAZ
Anyone want to come help me burn some leather coats?

SKYLAR
(Nodding)
Fire Storm time.

OLIVER
We wouldn't be heroes if we didn't.

(KAZ, OLIVER and SKYLAR head swiftly towards the hyperlift and go up to the main floor).

DOUGLAS
Hey! Those are limited edition!

(DOUGLAS follows suit quickly, and disappears in the hyperlift as well. This leaves BREE and CHASE alone in mission command. There is a quiet between the two of them as CHASE begins to pack away the tools he used with the chip extractor; neither of them really know what to say).

BREE
(Expectantly)
You want to tell me the truth, Chase?

CHASE
(Feigning innocence)
What do you mean?

BREE
Reece was "just too fast" for you? You won't even admit I'm too fast for you.

CHASE
Well, I wasn't going to stoop to their level, Bree. I wasn't going to tear apart a family, not whilst I was fighting for mine. Roman and Riker may be evil but… (Sighs, looks down at the tools he's fiddling with so he doesn't have to look at BREE). At the end of the day, she was their sister. They couldn't lose her.

(BREE walks up to CHASE, a fond smile on her face. She puts a hand on his arm).

BREE
You big softie.

CHASE
(Scoffs, deflecting)
Yeah, well. Skylar said you blasted Rodissius after we found out about Reece. (Pause, he grins) "Nobody messes with my brother", huh? (Shakes his head) And I'm the softie.

BREE
(Pretends to think, denying it)
That doesn't sound like me… I don't know what you're talking about.

CHASE
(Leaning against the counter top, smiling)
Next time you defend my honour, can you use something a little cooler than your flashlight hands - it's embarrassing, Bree.

(BREE stands, defensive, walking closer to CHASE to poke him in the shoulder).

BREE
They're not flashlight hands!

CHASE
(Rolling his eyes)
Yeah, whatever.

(BREE sighs, defeated, leaning against the cyberdesk, standing next to CHASE. He nudges her gently, his smile turning more genuine).

CHASE
Thank you.

BREE
For what?

CHASE
(Shrugs)
For looking out for me. You had a feeling something was off with Reece right away… (He frowns) I should've listened. I'm really sorry - if it wasn't for me, then you -

BREE
Chase, if it wasn't for you, I'd still be a bionic puppet. (Comedically traumatised of what could have been) And I do not look good in clown make-up, so thank you.

(A silence as BREE looks down, playing with her hands, a haunted look on her face as she thinks. CHASE touches her shoulder, bringing her back to the present).

CHASE
(Concerned)
Seriously, you okay?

(BREE paces away, back and forth, tiredly thinking out loud as CHASE watches her).

BREE
Yeah… I just, I don't know. I guess, Rodissius wanted me because of my superpowers. The bionics were just a bonus, I was on his hit list because of the - you know - "magic witch pebble", and I just… I don't know. I guess this was the first time someone's seen me as a superhero, and not as a bionic hero. It feels different. Being a superhero just feels so much more… (she struggles for the words) weighted, I guess. I don't feel like a superhero.

(A pause; CHASE thinks).

CHASE
Well, if it means anything, you've always been a superhero to me.

(Another pause, BREE smiles).

BREE
Thanks, Chase.

(CHASE smiles back at BREE as she makes her way to the hyperlift. But before she steps in, she turns round, something else on her mind).

BREE
And Chase. For the record, Reece was wrong. Plenty of people love you, 'kay?

CHASE
Duh. Why wouldn't they? Smartest guy in the world, remember?

BREE
(Rolls her eyes)
Had to ruin the moment, Chase.

(BREE steps into the hyper lift and zips away).
