He wished his wings were a lot bigger to wrap around his brother for more comfort, but at least Hudson could do it, which the elder wound up doing. Brooklyn felt his warmth and then having his tears fall down while Hudson began to rock him.
Hudson stroked the younger gargoyle's head, causing him to sigh softly, wishing there was a way to take the pain away. That was when Elisa had also come along up to the upper levels, having heard from Broadway what happened.
Her eyes rounded at the sight of the bandage on Brooklyn's neck and chest. "What has been going on here?"
The brown elder glanced in her way while Brooklyn shied back from her voice and presence, afraid to kill her now too. "The lad attempted to remove the branding Thailog had cruelly given him. We had to bandage him up."
Elisa had a hand over her mouth from that, kneeling down and attempting to put a comforting hand on Brooklyn. "Hey there bud, it's alright. It's me, Elisa." Brooklyn peeked back out, his ears flattening, face terrified to an extreme before burying himself in Hudson's wings once again.
Hudson had an apologetic look on his face. "We got to find a way for the lad to end hurting and blaming himself. What do you think we should do?"
The detective had a hand on her chin before soon coming up with an idea. She did know a therapist friend in the police department named Sara. "Hey, I might be able to give a call to someone who could help Brooklyn out and just spend time with him. She's a therapist named Sara who uses both regular therapy and once in a while hypno therapy if the patient doesn't seem to calm down too well."
Lexington seemed to like the idea but was looking concerned now. "But… what if Brooklyn gets the fear of killing her? I'm not so sure about this."
Elisa understood Lexington's worries but she glanced down at Brooklyn, who was still shaking, his heart thumping a million miles, only wanting to be alone with Hudson. "Trust me, I've seen this before from those who had been victims of hypnosis just like Brooklyn. They end up blaming themselves for being forced to hurt others under it. Let's at least give her a week and see if Brooklyn warms up to her."
Hudson soon nodded, as well as Lexington. "Alright, as long as she isn't anti-gargoyle, she can come over." He said gently, giving Brooklyn more massages and soft comforting words, making Brooklyn yawn weakly, who was getting rather tired from both the pain of him scratching himself and his trauma.
Broadway had come up at that moment, holding a bowl of soup in his hands, a soft but sad smile on his face. "Hi, bro. If you want to, I have some food."
Brooklyn again peeked his head out, a deep frown on his beak when seeing his brother there, the one he had almost hurt as well. Hudson gave Brooklyn an encouraging gaze. "Go on, lad. You know we would never poison or hurt ye."
But I would…Brooklyn thought to himself silently, as he reluctantly took the bowl from Broadway, his hands shaking. Hudson held his hands for him, knowing Brooklyn hadn't been able to eat by himself very well since his rescue. Brooklyn felt the soup going down his throat after eating, sighing in content as the warmth of the soup made him feel slightly better, giving Broadway a shy smile. "Thanks." He said a little too quietly; Broadway always loving seeing his red brother smile.
On her way out of the clock tower, Elisa went to call Sara about being Brooklyn's therapist but when opening the door to leave the police department, she spotted something on the ground in a package. Picking it up, Elisa opened the package, which said it was from Nightstone Unlimited. She gasped in surprise at the sight of what looked like a pocket watch.
Elisa wondered who could even send her something like this but recalled back to Brooklyn being hypnotized. Maybe… this had been the cause of it all. Pocketing the watch, Elisa decided to save it for later and got into her car to drive home for the day, hoping Sara would be able to actually snap Brooklyn out of what he is going through.
