"Stay away from her!" Naruto shouted, stepping forward.

"Could this really be happening?" Naruto thought, his mind racing.

"This scroll might hold the answers," Levy muttered as she scanned the page.

"Rasengan!" Naruto roared as he charged forward, his attack spiraling with energy.

"That day… I couldn't save them."

"Foolish mortal, do you think you can challenge me?" growled Kurama.

"CRASH!" – A deafening sound echoed as the building collapsed.

Chapter 2: Struggle for Control

The first rays of sunlight broke through the forest canopy, casting dappled light onto the moss-covered ground. Naruto sat cross-legged by a small stream, his reflection rippling in the water. He stared down at himself, his thoughts swirling like the current.

For the past few days, a voice had been whispering in the back of his mind. It wasn't his own.

"Weak…"

Naruto's reflection rippled unnaturally, the faint outline of something monstrous flashing across its surface.

"You'll never survive here."

Naruto's jaw tightened. "Shut up," he muttered, splashing water over his face.

The voice didn't reply, but the unease lingered. Ever since he had made that wish in the Box, something had changed inside him. It wasn't just the loss of his chakra—though that alone had been a devastating blow. No, this was something deeper. Something dark.

The town came into view after hours of walking. Its cobbled streets were lined with colorful stalls, and the air buzzed with activity. Vendors called out to passersby, advertising magical wares and fresh produce. Naruto's stomach growled loudly, earning a few curious glances from the townsfolk.

"Alright, first order of business—food," Naruto muttered.

He wandered through the marketplace, his eyes scanning the stalls. The vibrant, bustling atmosphere reminded him of festivals back in Konoha. Except here, magic was everywhere. A vendor used a floating rune to display his prices, while another enchanted her cooking pots to stir themselves.

Naruto's gaze lingered on a food stall where skewers of roasted meat sizzled enticingly. He fumbled in his pocket, pulling out the coins he had taken from the rogue mages.

"Hey, how much for one of those?"

The vendor glanced at the coins and frowned. "That's barely enough for half a skewer."

Naruto groaned. "What kind of economy is this?"

The vendor shrugged, already turning to the next customer. Naruto sighed, pocketing his coins and moving on.

As Naruto made his way through the town, the whispers returned, stronger this time.

"Pathetic. Begging for scraps like a dog."

Naruto froze, his hand clenching into a fist. "You're not real," he muttered under his breath.

"Oh, I'm very real," the voice replied, its tone mocking. "You made a wish, boy. I'm the price you pay."

The voice had been there ever since he woke up in this world, lurking in the corners of his mind. Sometimes it was faint, a shadow in his thoughts. Other times, like now, it felt like a physical presence, coiled around his very being.

Naruto's breathing quickened as his vision blurred. He stumbled into an alleyway, gripping the wall for support. For a brief moment, his reflection in a nearby window shifted—his blue eyes glowed faintly red, and the outline of a beast flickered across his face.

"No," Naruto growled, shaking his head violently. "You're not taking over!"

The whispers faded, retreating into the depths of his mind. Naruto slumped against the wall, his heart pounding.

"I need to figure this out," he muttered. "Before it gets worse."

Naruto's chance came later that afternoon. While wandering near the outskirts of town, he noticed a pile of discarded items near a dilapidated building. Most of it was junk—broken tools, old clothes—but something caught his eye: a small, worn spellbook with the words "Take Over: A Beginner's Guide" etched onto the cover.

He picked it up, flipping through the pages. The illustrations showed figures transforming into beasts, wings sprouting from their backs or claws extending from their hands.

"Take Over magic…" Naruto murmured. He remembered Mirajane mentioning it back in the forest. Could this be the key to controlling the thing inside him?

Satori's voice chuckled faintly in the back of his mind.

"You think you can tame me with a child's spellbook? How amusing."

"Guess we'll find out," Naruto shot back, tucking the book under his arm.

Later that evening, Naruto found a secluded clearing just outside the town. He set the spellbook down on a flat rock and began reading its instructions.

"Alright," he muttered, rolling up his sleeves. "Let's see what you've got."

The first exercise was simple: focus on a single physical trait and imagine it transforming. Naruto closed his eyes, picturing his hand turning into a claw. He felt a faint warmth in his fingers, followed by a sharp pain.

When he opened his eyes, his hand was… covered in fur.

"Seriously?" Naruto groaned, staring at the mismatched patchwork of fur and human skin.

Satori's laughter echoed in his mind.

"Impressive. Truly the work of a genius."

"Shut it," Naruto snapped, shaking his hand until the fur disappeared.

He tried again, this time focusing on enhancing his strength. His muscles tensed, and he felt a surge of power—right before his legs gave out beneath him, sending him face-first into the dirt.

Naruto's training was interrupted by the sound of someone clapping slowly. He turned to see a young man leaning against a tree, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.

"Having fun playing wizard, old man?" the mage taunted.

Naruto raised an eyebrow. "Old man? I'm barely in my twenties."

The mage snorted. "Could've fooled me with that hair."

Naruto sighed, brushing himself off. "What do you want?"

"Just passing through," the mage said, though his tone suggested otherwise. "But seeing you flail around like that… it's embarrassing. Let me show you how a real mage does it."

The mage stepped forward, summoning a small ball of fire in his hand. He tossed it casually between his fingers, his smirk widening.

Naruto's eyes narrowed. "You really want to do this?"

"Think of it as a lesson," the mage replied, launching the fireball directly at Naruto's feet.

Naruto leapt back, narrowly avoiding the flames. The mage didn't give him time to recover, following up with a barrage of smaller fireballs.

Naruto ducked and weaved, his instincts kicking in. Without chakra, he relied on his agility and training, using the terrain to his advantage.

"Not bad," the mage admitted, "but dodging won't save you forever."

Naruto smirked. "Good thing I'm not planning to dodge forever."

As the mage prepared another spell, Naruto closed the distance between them, his movements swift and calculated. He grabbed a handful of dirt and flung it into the mage's eyes, momentarily blinding him.

"Hey, no fair!" the mage yelled, stumbling back.

"All's fair in a fight," Naruto retorted, sweeping the mage's legs out from under him.

Before the mage could recover, Naruto pressed his kunai against his throat. "Lesson over," he said coolly.

The mage glared up at him, his pride clearly wounded. "You're not normal," he muttered.

"Never said I was," Naruto replied, stepping back and letting him go.

As the mage disappeared into the forest, Naruto sat down, his chest heaving. The fight had been close—too close. He glanced at his hand, flexing his fingers.

"I need to get stronger," he muttered. "If I can't control this… I'll never survive here."

Satori's voice was quiet, but there was a faint edge of approval in its tone.

"Perhaps you're not completely hopeless after all."

Naruto ignored the remark, picking up the spellbook again. The night stretched on as he continued his training, the faint glow of magic flickering in the darkness.
