This is a deleted scene from Can't Run From Fate. This was an altercation Koa experiences while waiting for Julius with her coolers in the chapter Thriving.
Koa leaned against her truck, waiting to open her trunk for Julius to place her coolers into.
"Well, well, look who it is," a prissy voice spoke from nearby.
'Oh boy, here we go again,' Koa groaned to herself.
"Hey Mabel," Koa greeted sarcastically.
Mabel stood on the sidewalk a few feet from the shop. She was shorter than Koa by a few inches. Her bleach blonde hair shined off the sun in a rather offensive way, forcing Koa to squint a little. She wore so much makeup that she looked more like a doll than a real person. It was obvious she had a few other cosmetic surgeries to 'improve' her looks.
"Back in town, are you? What did you murder this time? A helpless deer?" Mabel growled challengingly.
"No, Mabel. And it ain't murder. What I do is population control. And people require meat in their nutrition," Koa stated unamused and unaffected. She's been through this with her too many times by now.
"Whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night," Mabel growled.
"I wonder, is there a reason you come at me every time we cross paths? It can't just be that I hunt," Koa questioned.
"Really? You want me to answer that?"
Koa raised her hand to say 'by all means.'
"Because off all the undeserving support and friends you have. You murder animals. You trade those animals like they're objects," Mabel listed.
Koa rolled her eyes.
"And I don't see what all the men in town see in you," Mabel suddenly stated.
'And there it is,' Koa thought to herself.
"Jealous?" Koa questioned.
"And what would I be jealous of? Look at yourself!" Mabel said.
"You mean my natural beauty," Koa stated, brushing her hand through her loose, long wavy black hair, "instead of all those cosmetics, and a botched nose job?"
Mabel gasped offended, bringing her hand to her slightly crooked nose. Her face then contorted in anger and she started approaching Koa aggressively, who readied herself for whatever Mabel had in mind.
"What's going on here?" A masculine voice sounded nearby.
Koa and Mabel looked over and saw a police car sitting in the road.
Seeing this, Mabel started acting overly dramatic in front of the cops.
"Oh Officer! This bitch just insulted me and threatened me!" Mabel squealed.
Koa again rolled her eyes. The officer however, didn't by the act for a second.
"Koa, is this lady bothering you?" The officer suddenly asked.
Mabel gasped in shock as Koa chuckled.
"Nah, Travis. I'm fine," Koa responded with an amused smile.
Travis chuckled. "Yeah, I'm sure you are."
"What's going on out here?" Another masculine voice sounded.
Koa and Mabel turned to see Julius outside the shop, holding one of Koa's coolers. Next to him was a young man who worked in his shop, holding Koa's other cooler.
Upon seeing the young man next to Julius, Mabel straightened herself up and tried to make herself presentable.
"Hi, Ethan!"
'You're kidding me. She attacks me for hunting, but flirts with him despite working at a meat shop? Animal activist my ass. What a hypocrite.' Koa thought to herself.
"Harassing Koa again, are we?" Ethan suddenly asked.
"Well, she murders animals and she insulted me!" Mabel tried to defend herself.
"I thought you said she threatened you," Travis suddenly called out.
Mabel flinched.
"You know making false claims and lying to the cops is illegal, right?" Julius questioned.
"Um…"
'This should be good,' Koa thought to herself, amused.
"Koa, do you want to press charges for harassment?" Travis asked.
Mabel started sweating bullets.
Koa pretended to think about it. "No. I'm fine. Thanks though."
Travis nodded and drove away. Mabel stood there, shacking.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Julius asked impatiently.
"And I've made it clear I'm not interested," Ethan suddenly stated.
This time Mabel spoke up.
"Why? You chose an animal murderer," she gestured to Koa, "over me?" She gestured to herself.
"Well, Koa is a natural beauty, and she doesn't treat herself like a cosmetics doll." Ethan stated.
Mabel stood there shocked for a few minutes, then screamed, then walked away angrily, leaving the three of them amused.
Koa shook her head in disbelief.
"You okay, Koa?" Julius asked, concerned.
"Yeah," she responded with a nod. "She was just going off again. Being the hypocrite she is."
Koa turned around and unlocked her trunk to open it so Julius and Ethan could place the coolers in her truck.
